Midcentury Modern Stunner, Eve American Bistro, Opens Next Week in Downtown LA - Eater LA

"The newly renovated Mayfair Hotel is just about to reopen again after an extensive makeover, and both the hotel lobby and accompanying restaurant, Eve American Bistro, will open next week just a few blocks west of Downtown LA. Named after a Raymond Chandler short story (he once lived at the hotel with his mistress back in the 1930s), Hell’s Kitchen winner Scott Commings will oversee a robust American menu with chops, seared scallops, and rotisserie chicken. Designer Gulla Jonsdottir, who also worked on the historic Hotel Roosevelt in Hollywood, recalls a by-gone era with high ceilings, skylights, and columns, though something more reflective of 2018 than 1928." - Matthew Kang
