Find the 11 Best Tacos in Raleigh, North Carolina | Eater Carolinas

"Fusion tacos are the star here, with perhaps one of the most unique taco menus in the Triangle. Try the Moo Moo III (seared filet mignon with rajas), the Red Bird (an achiote-marinated chicken adobado), or the Porky Asia (smoked pork belly with cabbage and apple relish). The 13th Taco is a constantly changing chef’s special, and recently was a take on tacos de canasta (basket tacos), featuring seared Gulf shrimp inside three corn tortillas, grilled in the style of birria tacos and served with arroz crema and cowboy style beans." - Matt Lardie

**New Favorite Spot!** We just had our first visit to **13 Tacos and Taps** in Raleigh, and wow—what a gem! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere impressed us. It's boutique-like and trendy, with decor that feels more upscale and unique than your average Mexican restaurant. The menu was just as exciting, with creative options for everyone—including pescatarians like my husband and me. I went with the *13th Taco* (their rotating specialty taco), which featured beer-battered mahi mahi—absolutely *to die for*! On the side, I had the fried cauliflower bites. I know that might sound underwhelming, but trust me—these were some of the best sides I’ve *ever* had. To top it off, the mezcal margarita was a total home run—smoky, smooth, and perfectly balanced. Between the killer food, creative drinks, and super cool vibe, this place has officially earned a spot as our new favorite! Oh and the staff is also 5-star! Our server was friendly, helpful and attentive. David, the head chef, even came out to say hello. He was one of the nicest & welcoming person I have ever met. Pretty sure we’re bff’s now. Lol. Seriously though, go check them out. You won’t regret it!!

We just left 13 Tacos and Taps, and honestly, this might be my #1 favorite taco spot so far. Even compared to places I tried in Mexico, this one stands out. First off, the tacos are super filling — they’re packed with flavor and variety, and just taste amazing. What I loved most is that they use only one tortilla per taco. A lot of places use two, and it ends up feeling like you’re eating mostly corn tortilla instead of the actual filling. But here, it’s the opposite — you’re getting a lot of fish or meat, and it really hits the spot. Service was also top-notch. The owner even came over to chat and asked how we found the place — I told him it was all thanks to Instagram. He seemed genuinely happy to hear that, which was cool. As for the vibe, it’s a small, cozy spot. We went on a Friday night — it was packed, but still had a calm and chill atmosphere. Not noisy, just lively. We were super impressed and definitely plan to come back. Even though it’s a 30-minute drive, it’s absolutely worth it.

Food was delicious! I had the Korean pork tacos, my husband had the shrimp tacos. The rice that comes with the meal was also delicious. We had two house margaritas which were very good but $$ for the size. My husband finished his in minutes and then had a beer. The staff was very friendly and our bartender Brittney was very nice and even reviewed the menu with is and took time to make suggestions. We sat at the bar which was comfortable and clean. The atmosphere in this small restaurant was very nice and vibrant. We will return but probably just have water. It was $87 for two meals, 2 margaritas, and a beer. This is too steep for lunch. Also, during the week you can get a lunch option that comes with 2 tacos instead of 3. (My photo only shows 2 because I didntnthink to take a picture until I scarfed one down lol). I finished my meal, but was sickly full. I knew the food wouldn't be good left over as it would get soggy. Next time my husband and I will share as it is too much food for us and too good to waste. Why not offer the lunch option until 3p-4p on Saturday?

Tried this place for the first time the other day and I liked it a loooot. The tacos had a lot of steak in it which is a huge plus since a lot of places don’t put that much meat, and bonus points cause they had Pacifico beer and it’s my favorite. Also the staff was super friendly, the hostess was really accommodating and our waitress was super sweet and gave us recommendations.

Google
Recently tried 13 Tacos and Taps. My favorite dish was the beans! They were full of flavor and had bits of chorizo. The service was slow and I could tell the waiter had too many tables to tend to. Overall a good restaurant to try but you could find better tacos for a much reasonable price elsewhere :)

We came here for an early San Valentine’s date night. Never been here before. The place is very nice, Jorge was very friendly and offered great food/ drinks recommendations. The food was delicios. Best churros!

Google
Best fish and shrimp tacos in town! We ate there for the first time and were NOT disappointed. Didn’t take pictures because I ate the food too fast! Phenomenal service from the hostess and bartender. We got our food to go. I was also to see they had Salty Turtle on tap to enjoy when we come back. We highly recommend and will be back!

Google
Overall Score: 8.0/10 – A cozy and modern taco spot with excellent food, friendly service, and a great atmosphere, making it a must-visit for taco lovers. Atmosphere and Service: 8.2/10 – The interior is clean, modern, and inviting, with a small, cozy layout that feels intimate, though seating can be a bit tight. The staff is incredibly engaged and friendly, with standout service provided by Demarco, who went above and beyond. However, the reserved table policy caused logistical issues, with guests leaving due to unavailable seating while reserved tables remained empty. A more flexible reservation system, such as reserving only a specific section for larger parties, could improve the experience. The menu was easy to navigate but lacked pricing on some items, which affects transparency. Birria and Queso Dip: 7.9/10 – A well-executed dish with great presentation and flavor. The beef was perfectly cooked, tender, and easy to eat with the chips. The portion size, especially for the beef, was satisfying and of good quality. The price was fair and reflected the dish’s excellent quality and taste. Fajitas for Two: 6.4/10 – A good dish overall, with great-tasting steak that came out hot and fresh. However, the wraps were a bit too small, limiting the amount of sides like lettuce, tomato, and rice that could be added. Additional wraps were provided on request, but the portioning of the sides felt limited because of the small wraps. The steak portion was decent, and while the price felt slightly high, the quality and taste made it worth it. Side of Rice: 8.5/10 – Absolutely fantastic! The rice was flavorful and had a unique, delicious taste with a perfect balance of ingredients like corn and sour cream. It’s a standout side dish that adds a lot to the meal and is highly recommended.

Yelp
Just had dinner here for the first time. The food was outstanding! Started with the Burria and queso. All three of us had tacos, pork belly, and shrimp along with the brussel sprouts. Everything was amazing and this will be our new go to favorite!

Yelp
I love Mexican food!!! My husband does not. Never has. But this place - oh my goodness. We are so hooked. Tuesday is for tacos. I have had the mahi tacos, the tacos de canasta ( with shrimp), and the Cinco de Mayo special that is now the special of the month (May) - Tender braised lamb, house made blue corn tortillas that are tender and full of flavor, and their heritage beans. A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! And he loves the Birria Tacos. The flavors are spot on. It's not your typical Mexican food. I imagine it's the type of meal you would have at your Mexican abuelas house - everything home made and made with great care. A dynamic couple own the restaurant who are the chef and pastry chef (tres leche cake is kick ass). Oh and you must have the queso with chorizo and house made margaritas. We go once a week so will try to post more pics before we Hoover down our food. Thank you Chef David for showing my husband how delicious Mexican food can be.

Yelp
I enjoyed my Korean Porky BBQ tacos. It wasn't your traditional tacos and had a good mix of spicy and sweet. I was a bit surprised to open my to go box and find an entire corn cob for my side of arroz crema. All other places I've gotten this it's not been on the cob. Not my favorite. The mixed drinks looked amazing, so I would come back to try those. Service was a little slow on a Thursday at 5pm, but the bartender was very nice and kept us updated on our orders.

Yelp
Very good small taco place with bar as well. Food was delish! I got the filet tacos and was cooked perfectly.

Yelp
I found my new favorite taco joint! My only regret is that I don't live closer. The food was super fresh and delicious. I look forward to trying a drink when I return.

Yelp
I just had the best chicken enchiladas and mole I've ever had here. And I'm old. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Recently stopped by for lunch. Located in a strip mall, this quaint eatery may be small in size but it packs a punch in flavor! To start off, we enjoyed their chips and queso. The chips were fresh and the queso had just the right amount of heat. The menu primarily revolves around tacos, with a few Mexican inspired options sprinkled in. We decided to try the shrimp tacos which h were delicious. However, the standout for us was the unique chicken and waffles taco. So good! We enjoyed margaritas with the meal which were perfectly made. Highly recommend! Will come again

Yelp
Here this afternoon and our server was friendly and the food was delicious. I had the Birria tacos - the consomme was tasty and came with a side of some hot chili pepper dip too for the tacos. Meat was good quality and the side of Arroz Crema was so unexpectedly delicious I'm so glad I chose rice! It's jasmine rice with queso fresca and crema. Wow! Hubby had the shrimp enchilada which was delicious. Lunch was two tacos and two enchiladas instead of three each and it was filling enough with the sides. Definitely recommend.

Amanda H.

Yelp
Delicious dinner! The reviews were great so I thought why not! I was pleasantly surprised! The service was amazing and the food was fresh and probably the best I have had. I hade the fresh guacamole and chips , Mole enchiladas with arroz crème & margarita with fresh squeezed Juice and my choice of tequila!

Yelp
Glad I gave this a second chance. Came a couple years back before the renovation. I don't recall the food being so good but did recall the atmosphere lacking. Not the case any more. very nice and great food. Service was friendly as well. This place moves to my permanent list.

Yelp
We had reservations here on a Wednesday night and were given our choice of table when we arrived. The place is tiny so reservations are probably needed on the weekends. We ordered the house margaritas -- passion fruit for me and cucumber for my husband. Both were delicious. No complimentary chips and salsa. I ordered the smoke mahi crispy rolled tacos with a side of beans. The beans had so much flavor-- definitely not your typical refried beans. Tacos were good as well. Husband ordered Tacos de Canasta and enjoyed those as well. Service was friendly and food came out super fast -- didn't even have time to finish my margarita!

Jessica A.

Yelp
This is perhaps the best meal we've in the Triangle since moving here a year ago. Everything we had was great, but special shout out to the Smoked Mahi rolled tacos and the arroz crema side. Service was excellent. Tight seating is maybe the only downfall.

Yelp
The food here is authentic and delicious! Our server, Lori was excellent and provided lots of insight into the dishes on the menu, which are many and varied. We chose two different enchilada selections, both were delicious and perfectly prepared. This restaurant is cozy, welcoming and has an intimate ambiance, perfect for a date or dinner with friends! We love this place.

Yelp
5 stars all day ! I've got nothing but California love for my NC familia they don't skip corners and you can taste the love in every bite. The service is very authentic as well. It's always great to have a server who understands what it's like to go out with kids ( I've got 4 under 4 ) and share battle stories with My kids love the food ! My little carnivore goes vegetarian when he's there and scarfs down the Brussels and cauliflower . I wish I was able to come here more often. It's been my go to taco /margarita spot since I moved here from LA California 5 years ago .

Yelp
One of the best taco places in the area! Great fresh food, great service - and not just the tacos but the sides and small plates too!
google avatar

Danyse R.

Yelp
Food and drinks were amazing! Everything we ordered was flavorful and you can tell all ingredients were high quality. House made sour mix made the margaritas irresistible! The service was just as great as the food! I love when the owners interact with thier customers. Will absolutely be back again.

Yelp
I'm frequently moved to write about someplace we've recently dined and my luck is really very good because almost invariably I easily find good things to say. Usually there is at least one caveat. 13 Tacos does NOT have a caveat! In every conceivable category they hit it over the fence! Outta da park!! As good as it gets! It's owned/operated by husband, David...the chef, and his wife, Marilyn...who must have walked away with some Miss Congeniality and Best Personality awards earlier in life! Marilyn greeted us at the door and seated us very comfortably at a table for 4. After we mentioned it was our first visit she spent the time to review the menu, describe the specials and recommend a few selections. Very personable, very informative and very helpful. We started with some of their 'prepared when ordered' guacamole the was wonderful. Dee had one of their Margaritas (I tried a sip) and discovered it to be one of the best she's ever had. It really was special. Dee ordered the Yucatán style, Achiote marinaded barbecued Mahi Mahi on a skewer. It was served with fresh tortillas, arroz crema rice and pickled red onions. There was a small side of roasted habanero pepper relish. It was DIVINE! And the relish, while certainly hot, was amazingly complex and smoky. I had the Moo Moo Tres. That's seared filet mignon with fire roasted poblanos, bell peppers and onions. It's served on flour tortillas with a queso fresco/citrus cilantro emulsion. Our well qualified server was Katlyn who, while new to this restaurant, she's not new to the trade. We could tell. She was very pleasant, very articulate and very attentive without being at all intrusive. Everything there...parking, seating, atmosphere, hospitality, service, the food, the presentation.. It's a REMARKABLE little restaurant. We drove about an hour and a half (round trip) to eat there and we will do it again! Sure...there are good places closer but this one is worth every extra minute it takes to dine there. I don't often rave about a restaurant... This is me. Raving!! Get over there and see for yourself. WOW !!!

Yelp
Amazing. Ashley was a gracious host and humored me by listening to my favorite parts about the meal. I started with water and the chips and guacamole. They were the perfect level of crispy, salty, and sweet. The guac was out of this world good. For the entrée, I had the smoked Mahi Mahi Tacos, first of all, the meal was beautifully crafted, the flavors were as brilliant as the mural on the wall. I can't believe how good everything was. They even had the amazing crushed ice for my drink. If you haven't been before, highly recommend a visit. See you again soon 13Tacos.

Yelp
Terrific tacos! So much flavor and seasoned perfectly. I had Tacos de Canasta which were filled with shrimp - succulent and juicy. My husband had shrimp tacos with a sauce which he loved. Our son had Taco Lao filled with filet mignon bites which were tender and tasty. Mexican corn was delicious! Had Churros for dessert which were warm, covered with cinnamon and sugar, and dipped in whipped creme. Service, by Brittany was perfect. Very warm, cozy and friendly atmosphere. Can't wait to go back!!
google avatar

Yelp
This place is awesome! The tacos are the best i've ever had! Sometimes the restaurant even provides off menu items you would definitely need to come and try them on! Brit is the best :)
google avatar

Martin D.

Yelp
My wife and I absolutely loved our first visit here for dinner. We had the surf and turf fajitas and they were fantastic. The cucumber margaritas were great too. Perhaps best of all was the homemade Tres Leche cake. We will definitely be regulars eating here from now on. Martin D. Raleigh

Connie B.

Yelp
We absolutely love 13 Tacos. I am always one to want to change my order, but the menu specifically encourages you to not make changes and try things as they are. I have always ordered as-is and I've yet to be disappointed. We have oved every dish we've had there, and the margaritas too. My favorite taco ever was the Thanksgiving taco with turkey and cranberry sauce. I know it sounds weird. But honestly it was amazing! It is definitely an elevated taco experience. Not expensive, but just more thoughtful and definitely fresh with quality ingredients and not super heavy
google avatar

Yelp
Best. Mexican. Food. Fish tacos. Best ever. Cauliflower. Perfect. Steak tacos. Wow. Guacamole. Awesome (not "really good." AWESOME. Planning second visit for early this week... Chef David- You had a circuitous path to end up in Raleigh. Please don't leave. We would miss you too much. You bring a kindness and are a class act - I loved chatting with you & your wife - and hearing a little of your journey to Raleigh!

Gregory J.

Yelp
I've been to this restaurant twice now, and the food was excellent both times. I'd list specific items for you to try, but my family and I have enjoyed everything we've had (and we've tried a lot). Make a reservation or go early if you can since space is limited.

Yelp
Now, this place I really did enjoy. First of all customer service was so homey feeling. We had two servers taking care of us. There is an elite discount perk for checking in but i forgot to use it. Lol - blame it on the margaritas :) I tried the shrimp and grits tacos, yes, shrimp and grits IS A TACO. It was really well constructed with great flavor profiles. I also had a birria tacos. I chose the Brussels sprouts as sides. It was a great portion and reheated well the next day. The drinks were mango, passion fruit and strawberry margaritas ALL were delicious, and paired well with the tacos. The only downfall was that the tacos come in orders of three but cannot be mixed up. I wanted to try so many, hopefully this changes... Service was fast and I felt like vip and well taken care of since it was two ladies on one table. I would certainly come back if I was in town.
google avatar

Mari H.

Yelp
Love their birria tacos, well seasoned and have a side spicy sauce that was so good. They also have some specials and a rice with crema delicious. They have great customer service skills. I highly recommend to try it.
google avatar

Baylie O.

Yelp
This place is within walking distance from my apartment and I love that. They have an extensive drink menu and are always adding new items to the menu. The owner is so nice and every time I'm in there is walking around to make sure everyone is enjoying their food at each table. The past couple times I've gone I've gotten the Birria Tacos and they're delicious! Fish tacos are also amazing! Excited to see what sort of new tacos are coming to the menu next.
google avatar

Yelp
Small restaurant way off my normal beating path. This location is about 22 minutes from my place and it was well worth the drive and money spent. You won't be disappointed. 13 Tacos is a small and intimate setting perfect for a date night with the ladies or your significant other. It gave me a mature vibe! The Queso is delicious and has just the right amount of cheese and spice. The Birria tacos are also good, however, I would encourage extra cheese for more moisture. I would've liked the beef more shredded - it was a bit too chunky. The texture of the beef did not impact my rating. I would recommend this spot for anyone who enjoys a good taco and margaritas. I had the delicious raspberry margarita. My waitress was Ashley who was very nice. Ashley checked in often and even made suggestions when I had questions. I am very pleased with the food and service here. I also like the fact that reservations are available. There weren't any long waits to be seated. I'll be back soon!

Lorraine M.

Yelp
Just average tacos at a really expensive price. The location is small with hardly anywhere to sit unless it's nice outside and you're able to grab an extra table outside. The cashier was very nice but the gentleman that brought our food did not speak English and not very pleasant or helpful.
google avatar

Yelp
After hearing so many great things about 13 Tacos & Taps, we decided to have dinner here on a Wednesday evening, instead of going to our favorite local Mexican restaurant in downtown Wake Forest. It's located in a shopping plaza, so there's plenty of parking. We were seated right away on a rather busy Wednesday evening around 6:30. There are about 10 tables and about 6 seats at the bar. It's comfortable and you don't feel like you're on top of other guests by any means. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. They let you know from the top of the menu that your meal is made to order, so please be patient. At the current moment, like almost everywhere you go, they are short staffed, but they make it a point to make sure you're not left alone too long without someone checking in on you. We ordered Margaritas and Queso to start with and received it within 10 minutes. I'm a huge queso fan, but unfortunately I wasn't a fan of the queso here at 13 Tacos & Tapas. For dinner, I ordered the shrimp tacos, and my daughter ordered the filet mignon tacos. You don't see that too often on a menu. It comes with a side and our server, Paige, highly recommend the rice. Our food was served after a little of a wait, really not too bad considering they are short staffed and we're busy. The presentation was great and the portions were perfect. We both thoroughly enjoyed our tacos bite by bite. The flavor combinations are great! The rice was tasty. The owner came by to check on us a second time, which I thought was very kind and thoughtful. He apologized for the wait and asked us how we enjoyed everything. Again, I believe despite being busy and short staffed, their customer service was great!!! I'd definitely come go back, I'd just get a different appetizer.
google avatar

Samantha B.

Yelp
The customer service was really good and very attentive. But the food menu needs some work. You cannot mix and match their tacos and they don't have any complimentary chips at the minimum. The korean bbq pork tacos were delicious. The red bird (chicken) tacos were good as well and had a nice spicy salsa on them. The moo moo tres (steak) tacos lacked flavor completely. Definitely needed some seasoning or at least a good sauce! The churros were not good at all so i was really sad about that.

Patrick C.

Yelp
Absolutely a great place. Fish taco's excellent, Enchiladas Mole off the rocks, fresh guacamole is awesome. Mondays margaritas are 25% off and they're delicious. Staff very friendly and the owner came to the table and checked in with us making sure we were happy with the food and service. We will be making this a regular thing.
google avatar

Angie O.

Yelp
The waiter was informative, kind, and attentive. My daughter ordered moo moo tres nachos and said the filet that was on it was perfectly cooked. We started with chips, salsa, and queso. Their salsa is perfect! The chips and the queso were great as well. I ordered Korean bbq tacos. I would have liked more soy and ginger flavor in the sauce(they were closer to a sweet bbq pulled pork), but they were delicious!! The slaw on top was fresh and there was a ton of meat in the taco. The tortillas they use are the perfect consistency...thin but durable to hold the filling! My husband ordered the red bird burrito and the chicken had so much flavor! I had the arroz crema as a side and the rice was perfectly cooked with a buttery flavor. He had the street corn and like the rest, cooked perfectly! Their house margarita was refreshing and not too sweet as well.
google avatar

Heather B.

Yelp
Another fantastic meal at 13 Tacos! Love their food, friendliness and the overall welcoming vibe. The owner is so kind and really seems to care about his customers and the food that he serves. The fried brussel sprouts and the cauliflower are both delicious. Hubby loves their guacamole. Moo moo tres tacos are my fave. My hubby chose the daily special, said it was perfect! Please do yourself a favor and eat here!
google avatar

Lauren D.

Yelp
The owner is so kind and always around The tacos are so delicious I love the cauliflower ones but be careful they are spicy! It's a super cute date spot and I think you can reserve a special date night corner where the chef will cook for you!
google avatar

Kevin M.

Yelp
Wow the food here is AMAZING! My wife and I stopped by for lunch for our very first visit and I must say we were blown away at how delicious the tacos were that we ordered. The shrimp and scallop tacos were outstanding. You get two tacos with your order. My wife ordered the steak with chimi sauce tacos which came with their signature rice. She loved it. We also ordered the roasted brussel sprouts with avocado which was cooked to perfection. The service was excellent. As soon as we opened the front door we were greeted and seated immediately. Our waitress was very helpful and friendly. The food was so good I asked the waitress if the cook could come out to our table to thank him. He did come out and appreciated the feedback. If you have never tried this place and you love tacos, trust me, go. Your welcome!

Yelp
I recently had dinner at 13 Tacos and Taps located in North Raleigh/ Falls River Town Center and it was a great experience.  For amazing drinks, fantastic service and food that taste so good "you'll want to bathe in it", make your way here for lunch or dinner! The menu features traditional tacos and classic Mexican fare but also creative Taco Fusions like the Shrimp & Grits. I recommend The 13th Taco featuring Mahi Mahi, and my husband enjoyed the Chicken & Waffles because it's smoky maple syrup combined with the Pico de Gallo made the perfect bite! Our daughter had the steak tacos from their kid menu and she said ot was so tender and tasty! Sides like the Mac 13, Arroz Crema and Mexican Street Corn are done just right! Chef David and his wife Marilyn are passionate about their restaurant and you can taste the love in each bite. Be sure to check out their weekly drink specials. For example, on #TequilaThursday, they have $5 Tequila Mules! A variety of other specialty drinks, wine, margaritas, sangrias, spirits, beers on tap & tequila are available on their Bar Menu!
google avatar

Laura S.

Yelp
The unexpected presence of a flavorful specialty taco and Mexican restaurant sits humbly in North Raleigh. Small, quiet, quaint. The service is good. The tacos are on point and the brussel sprouts and spicy margaritas are enough to have a return customer.

Yelp
Loveeeee love love this place. I actually found it through watching a tik tok and decided I had to try it. Also this is probably the first taco place I ever saw that offers mac and cheese and it's GREAT along with all their other food!! It's a very cute restaurant with both indoor and outdoor seating. The staff was all so kind and the owner is so friendly and amazing!!!! They have a food truck too so if you can't make it to the restaurant definitely try to catch the food truck. The food didn't take long at all to come and it was hot and tasted fresh. What we got: Chips with salsa & queso- both amazing, great appetizer, fresh chips Birria tacos- SUPER tasty and filling, I also loved the consommé it came with!! Many restaurants struggle to make a good consommé for their birria tacos and I find it being watered down and not flavored enough but their consommé was spot on. Mac 13- Mac and cheese at a taco spot definitely caught my eye and I was nervous to try it but it was sooo delicious and we tried chicken taco toppings on one and steak on the other and it was surprisingly so good. The mac alone would've been great too but the toppings was a great twist. The passionfruit mango margarita I got was so good I felt like I was drinking boba. Some of the proceeds for the margarita also goes to a good cause I believe. If you're a cider person the cider I got (I forget the name but show them the picture) was one of the best I've tried as well!

Yelp
The food is great and the owner is very friendly. We love trying the 13th taco. Also their sides are excellent, love the arroz crema!

Yelp
I confess I'm a bit of a Mexican food snob. Grew up in Fresno, California, where there is a large Mexican-American population, and lived most of my life in Southern California, where fantastic Mexican food was always easy to find. I'd say 13 Tacos is as good as the best Mexican food we've ever had in Southern California. We ordered the queso, and I had the "Moo Moo Tres" with beans as a side, while my wife had the "13th Taco" (the special, battered Mahi-Mahi fish tacos) with the brussel sprouts as a side dish. The wait staff was friendly; service was efficient, and the tacos were flavorful and a little bit spicy (but not overly so). We also ordered drinks; my margarita was made in the traditional way served in a cocktail glass (rather than in a fishbowl you see at some Mexican restaurants), and my wife's sangria was absolutely on point. The restaurant itself is small, and it is worth making a reservation. And honestly it looks like one of the little intimate 'hole in the wall' places you may find near Silver Lake outside of downtown Los Angeles; the perfect ambiance in my opinion. Tonight was the third time my wife and I have gone to 13 Tacos, and it definitely won't be our last.

Yelp
I've enjoyed any of their fish tacos. Very nice. And there is a friendly atmosphere. They want you there. It is a bit crowded. If it's date night, or you are a large person, reserve a good table. I recommend the bean side dish. Delicious. Skip the queso (cheese) chip dip. It's bland. If you want chips, get the regular red salsa. The house margarita is on the high side ($11) but it is very tasty. No need to upgrade.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I was craving some tacos today on Taco Tuesday and we couldn't find a place that really caught our eyes. Then we saw this spot and decided to try. We live in Morrisville but we did not regret taking the 25 minute drive..THIS PLACE IS AMAZINGGGG from the customer service to the quality of the food. You can tell they took their time with making everything. I had the passionfruit margarita and it was not watered down at all like most restaurants would have. My boyfriend is not too much of a drinker so he ordered a sprite and he was provided a bottled of sprite with a cup of ice. Lovely. For our appetizer, we had chips and queso and i added guacamole. This was soooo delicious. The chips was fresh and warm and the queso and guac was also very tasty too. For dinner we had shrimp tacos, pulled pork tacos and and shrimp & grits tacos. All very good but my favorite was the shrimp and grits! Absolutely delicious! I thought it wouldnt make a difference from the shrimp tacos but it taste totally different. Will return especially to use my coupon! Thank you!!!

Yelp
The good: the flavors here were all great! Every dish's flavor profile seemed really thoughtful with great sauces, slaws, etc. The bad: the pork belly. The flavors of the pork belly tacos were great but the pork belly itself was just bad. 90% fat and not very crispy, resulting in a really unappealing texture like chewing on a somewhat meat flavored marshmallow. Yes, pork belly should have some fat but this was like they'd removed any meat or used just straight fat trimmings. I'm not sure if it wasn't cooked enough to render out some of the fat and crisp it up, a poor quality cut, or both, but it was really disappointing. "Had to spit it out because of the unappealing texture" levels of disappointing. It was very, very odd. I'd possibly order again to try other dishes (the pulled pork was great!) but will definitely avoid the pork belly option.

Yelp
I'm so glad that I took the advice of other Yelpers and checked this place out! I definitely recommend having a reservation for dinner because when we left, they were incredibly busy. (Totally understandable!) With limited capacity, they were doing an amazing job of having everyone maintain social distances and require masks. Now it's time for the food and drinks...the guacamole and queso were a great starter, and of course had to get a peach margarita! The peach wasn't my favorite, but then I moved onto a raspberry one with dinner. Definitely way better! The ahi tuna tacos were delicious, and the cream rice ahhhhh...get in my belly! I might come back just to sit and gorge on the rice. It was that good! Will 10000% be back and try something new!

Yelp
This was my first time here and the waitress explained the menu & the specials over to us. We went with queso and chips for an appetizer. I ordered a birria taco with a side of beans, both was delicious and full of flavor from the fresh ingredients. I loved the dipping sauce that came with it! My friend ordered shrimp tacos with Mexican street corn, she loves the tacos too and was already asking to visit again before she finished. Oh and did I forget to mention the mule I had, it was great! I think the only negative was my friend didn't know refills weren't free but other than that; we will return!

Yelp
Ordered takeout from this spot, but the food was pretty underwhelming. Mahi mahi burrito and beans were good, and the rice with cream was merely okay. Chips were not really fresh. Overall I'd say Salt and Lime is better - you're better of going there instead.

Yelp
I ordered the shrimp tacos with Mac and my husband ordered the birria tacos with rice. First thing I want to mention is the tacos are pretty small, they're filling though! Both the shrimp tacos and the birria tacos lacked flavor in the way they shouldve had. My Mac also lacked flavor and it wasn't all that cheesy either. We paid 16.5 for my food and 20 for his; I definitely feel like it was over priced for what we received. We both ordered margaritas (I had blueberry and he had mango) the drinks were really good and I fully recommend those options. My biggest reason for such a low rating was our service. We were checked on once total from our server and I just wanted some water. She was more occupied talking to her coworkers and some friends coming in. I had heard her say "biiiitch" to the friend that came in and was disgusted by her. When she did speak to us she didn't give us any recommendations and just kept a mono tone. She seemed very inpatient with us. The food and drinks were decent and the service was horrible.
