11 South American Restaurants to Try in NYC - Eater NY

"Decorated with potato mashers, historic photos of Montevideo, and fanciful scenes of the pampas, Charrúa is a rare Manhattan Uruguayan restaurant, serving a menu overlapping that of Argentine restaurants, but with some unique dishes of its own, especially in the sandwich area. Check out the chivito: a brioche-borne sandwich in four variations, one featuring ham, eggs, steak, bacon, mozzarella, and roasted red peppers. Apart from those, find grilled steaks, milanesa, salads, pastas, and especially good empanadas, served two to an order with salad." - Robert Sietsema

Yelp
Solid smash burger spot with friendly staff. I'm definitely not a smash burger expert by any means, but with the recent proliferation of smash burger joints I've been trying them a lot more often. Finally stopped by Gotham with some friends after hearing about it for a while. The staff were super friendly taking our order, which is always nice so shoutout to them! I ordered a single smashburger, and we got fries and the fried pickles to share. The fries were solid, not amazing but still better than some of the other spots in the city. The fried pickles were delicious if you like pickles, but honestly they were pretty filling so I don't think I could eat more than 2 (you get 8 in a set). Now the burger-- pretty good! Clearly smashed with crispy edges, and I felt like it wasn't too greasy either. There's a good amount of seating inside and it felt like the flow of people in and out was pretty well maintained. Definitely worth a stop if you're in the area or even going out of your way if you're craving a burger.

Yelp
Thought the ambiance was great. A nice casual sit down and lots of available seating after taking your order at the front counter The food was great and I enjoyed the smash burger. My preference is not usually a smash burger but this place hits different. Also the sauce they make and use for the burgers tastes great and compliments it well too!

Yelp
One of the many smash burger spots, Gotham Burger Social Club is one of the more popular ones and for good reason. The prices are decent enough for the burgers ranging from $9 for a single (which I wouldn't recommend much but more on that later) to $14 for the Beastie Boy for a triple which I think would be an overkill with the sides being a bit pricey. The staff here are friendly and the vibes are casual as expected. The burgers in general come with grilled onions, melted American cheese, housemade pickles, jalapenos, club sauce, ketchup, and mustard with the jalapenos being their unique touch. The first time I was here, I was eating again pretty soon so I only got a Single. The burgers if you don't change anything are a bit bit overpowered from the jalapenos so I might suggest not ordering said peppers at least if you're going to get a single. The burgers in general have a good char with some crispiness to them but not too much compared to some other places such as SMASHED or otherwise with the burger feeling less greasy than SMASHED or 8-Bit among others. The veggies are a bit more of an afterthought with the grilled onions being well cooked but pretty light as there aren't as many and the pickle flavor barely being there. It's good but nowhere nearly as good as the double. The Double which is only a few bucks more is a lot better. The meat flavor is obviously much more pronounced and pairs nicely with the soft buns. The cheese flavor isn't as strong which I prefer as I'm not the hugest fan of American. You can see the same regarding the vegetables with the pickle flavor being even lighter but it did seem like there was more onion flavor. I also got the Frickles the second time for $8 which come your choice of sauce and I went with the Ghost Pepper Ranch. The frickles/fried pickles were nice with a light crust. For the sauce, it had a bit of spice compared to the usual ranch and there was indeed a bit of dill as described and it was tasty. Otherwise, I got a fountain drink which is a bit overpriced at $4 but at least it didn't taste as watery as others. If you prefer a smash burger that doesn't feel as greasy, has better quality meat, and has a bit less vegetables (outside of the strong jalapeno flavor unless you don't get them,) I would recommend this place. I would personally prefer there be a bit more onion and pickles but the beef quality is definitely better here. Low 4 which is high for a smash burger place though I also prefer regular burgers.

Yelp
Ordered to-go since the seating area was packed. Food took a little while but understandable with how many customers there were Burger and fries were pretty good. Also ordered the onion rings, the ones that were cooked properly were good but there were 10% that had no onion in the middle and raw batter.

Yelp
Randomly saw this place on uber eats and decided to try it out. I ordered the smash burger and the onion rings. The smash burger was delicious but nothing out of the ordinary. The onion rings were nice and crispy and very filling portion. I got it with the ghost ranch, it had a nice kick but i disliked that there was such a overpowering dill flavor as i do not like dill. It was overall good but I dont think id try this place again

Yelp
If you are craving a 10/10 smash burger, this is your spot! I got a single smash burger and a few sides to share: tater tots, fries and onion rings. The fries and tater tots were crunchy and delicious, while the onion rings weren't up there for me. They have vegan options for the smash burger so that's always a plus! Staff is friendly and we got our food very quickly after ordering. We came during the week so we were lucky and got a table right away. The restaurant is bigger than I thought but I'm not sure how busy it gets during the week.

Yelp
Walking around the neighborhood on a Friday night and looking for something casual, we ended up to Gotham burger. So we gave it a chance. My friend had heard really good things about this palace. We had to wait 10 minutes to get in and get a table. Although I'm not the type of person who will ever wait to get in a place that night I gave it a chance. We ordered their signature Gotham burger with fries. We paired our food with beer. The burgers tasted clean and they were flavorful. The sauce was really good too. It was worth it.

Yelp
Pretty solid smash burgers! The egg drop cream and the fries were surprisingly the highlights. The burger was solid but the fries and egg drop were perfect.

Yelp
Absolute banging burgers!! These are smash burgers unlike other burger joints. The onions are well incorporated to the patties and filled with all your regular burger toppings between a martin's potato bun. The reg smash burger comes with jalapeños which is a nice touch of heat. Now the fries surprised the hell out of me. These were better than McDonald's fries from the bite, the fluffiness of the fry and the simultaneous crunchiness all in one. This paired with the iced tea was deliciouso. From the decor alone and convos with the owner, I can definitely see this place thriving in Dallas as well. I will definitely be back and stopping by anytime I visit being back home!!

Yelp
Casual burger place that went viral recently. Glad I finally made my way downtown to try it. Would be perfect after a night out! - Single Gotham Smash (7/10): A good smash burger. didn't change my life. My burger-eating experience was pretty fast LOL. It kinda just disappears in a couple of bites... - Loaded Tots (6.6/10): Also pretty solid. strong Jalapeño flavor! Despite the appearance, this is a big dish so I'd recommend sharing with someone!

Yelp
Stopped by after an event on 4/20 and was greeted by a line halfway around the block and of course, that's almost always a good sign. Though long, the line moved fairly quickly and right after ordering we were promptly seated in the diner themed seating area. Food came fairly quickly and was decently portioned. I ordered the chopped cheese taco (which would probably do better as a burrito/wrap because the taco tortilla was too small and made it a little messy) and my friend ordered the vegan double burger. And whatever you do, DO ORDER THE SPICY MARG INNA CAN!!! Thank me later.

Yelp
We stopped in via recommendation since we had plans nearby, and it did not dissappoint! When we walked in, there was such a great energy about the place but I was a little disoriented. It has a standard hostess stand, but you have to gonpast it and order at the cash register before being seated (if there are seats available). A line behind us developed very quickly to order and be seated, so the pressure to order was on. Gotham Burger has really great food! I loved the concise menu with just enough variety. We preferred the tater tots over the french fries, and we are so glad we tried the onion rings (a must!). An FYI, the Gotham Burger comes pre-dressed with ketchup, mustard, jalapenos, pickles and grilled onions. If any of that is not your vibe, make sure to tell the employee taking your order. My boyfriend doesnt love mustard and forgot to ask, but it was just a learning experience! Its a very tight spot, with minimal seating options (especially for parties bigger than 2 or 3) I would absolutely come here for a quick or late night bite by myself or with a friend! I want to come back soon and try the frickles (fried pickles)

Yelp
Known for their smashburgers, this place was recommended by a friend. We stopped by on a Sunday at 7 PM with a party of 8 and had a slight wait. If you don't need a table, you can order at the counter and find available standing counter space to eat. *Gotham Smash (Double) $12 | 6/10: A decent smashburger, but nothing special. It lacked the crispy, lacy edges that a good smashburger should have. *Fries $4.25 | 7/10: Standard fries, good for snacking but nothing memorable. *Beer-Battered Onion Rings $6.50 | 5/10: The onion itself tasted good, but the batter was too thick on some rings, giving it a bready texture. *Frickles $8 | 7/10: Solid if you like pickles, but not a must-order. I've had better burgers and smashburgers, so I probably wouldn't come back. It's a passable spot if you're in the area, but I wouldn't go out of my way for it.

Yelp
When I heard that Chef Christian Gill was doing a burger special here, I knew I had to stop by. I haven't been to this location before but I was very happy to get in before it was super busy. Everyone there was very friendly and helpful and I got to meet Chef Christian! He was very friendly and was happy that I got to try his burger. The tomato jam was unbelievable, and the seasoning was spot on. Everything on this burger from the chow chow to the jam made it perfect. I hope they invite him back soon! Onion rings were perfect, not greasy and very crispy. The restaurant was clean and had lots of seating. Definitely will be back!

Yelp
Omg!! The best, and I mean the best smashburger. Let's get into it... this place started out with just a grill outside on nice warm days. The lines would literally be reaching down the block waiting about an hour for just a burger. No fries, no sides, no nothing, just a burger. But, People abided for these smash burgers. I'm assuming with the high demands they opened up a restaurant. The excitement I just know we all have for this is real. The real ones know! Honestly, I raved about this burger to my bestfriend for such a long time that when he came to see my first thought was let's take him. They honestly did not disappoint. The restaurant looks marvelous. The fooooood, ohhhhhh, the foooooood 1000000 outta 10 easily. Not just the burgers but everything was good. The only thing i can say they missing is lettuce. They don't serve lettuce nor tomatoes. But then again i don't think their burgers would be as good. Idk. The free refills is always appreciated, but who told ya about the ICE CHIPS?!!!! Ya went off with the ice chips!!!! Knowing how dangerous eating ice can be from these machines idk why but their ice chips was just everything. Even While eating the food we were eating the ice lmaooo. I pray they clean their machines. I don't know who these people asked or talked to but man they were here for the people. They even have hooks where you're able to hang up your bags or jacket while you eat, that's rare to see in NYC ! Posting this review makes me want it right now!!

Yelp
Gotham is well known as one of the best and most popular spots in NYC for their smashburgers. It's located near a lot of bars, so wished they stayed open later for the late night munchies. Either way, it's a nice, diner vibe spot with seating. First, you order before they take you to a table. The turnaround is pretty quick since it doesn't take too long to have some smashburgers. We got the Double Smashburger ($11), Tots ($5.50), and Spritz ($10). The smashburger is great and much less greasy compared to 7th Street Burger. They also have a sweet pickle in there that gives it a crunch to cut through all that meat and cheese. I like how crispy the tots were and the spritz is solid. The plus is that they offer alcohol here too. I'd say it's pretty comparable to 7th Street Burger, though that's more accessible since there's locations everywhere. If you're in the are and craving a smashburger, Gotham is the top choice.

Yelp
Overall a good quality smash burger. This place does it right! The small burger was flavorful and still juicy, also a nice little spice because of the jalapeños. It also had the right amount of mess for a smash burger with the cheese and house sauce. Also had the fried pickles which were pipping hot, but also great with the ranch, the fried pickles themselves had a little kick. Everyone was friendly, food came out quick, and the restaurant was clean (including the bathroom). If no line, I would 100% suggest grabbing a bite!
google avatar

Yelp
Waited maybe 5 minutes outside - they'll have you wait outside until there is space for you to order and sit. Ordered at the counter - super easy and the cashier was friendly. We got two burgers, fries and onion rings w their club sauce (I think?), a beer and a spritz! Everything came out hot and was delicious. Great smash burger with nice crispy edges and perfect amount of toppings. Didn't feel too rushed, even with people waiting. The line moves fast. Good spot to walk in and grab a solid smash burger. More expensive than places you might compare to, but good quality so, worth it imo.

Yelp
Came at around 1 PM on a Saturday. Easily found seating, and it didn't take long to get food. I tried the Gotham smash, frickles and Onion rings. Club sauce and ranch sauce were both fantastic for dipping. Burger in particular was super delicious but really everything was great. This is definitely one of the best smashburger options in town!
google avatar

Yelp
A bit overhyped for what it is and the priciness. The smashburgers seem to be a big fad nowadays but I'd rather have a traditional big juicy burger. I don't get the 5 star reviews from some here. That being said the burgers we ordered tasted ok and the tater tots on the side were prepared just right. It's comfort food to fill your belly after some bar hopping in the neighborhood. But man was everything packed with sodium. Way too salty for our taste. I felt like I needed to take a blood pressure pill after this meal and drink a gallon of water.

Yelp
Honestly....didnt love it. The restaurant itself has a country vibe and the staff was nice, but this was my first time trying this smash burger from here and to me it was too overcooked. The outer portion was flat like a thin paper slice of meat but it was pretty burnt, I ate around that part which dipping it in ketchup to counter the charr. I figured the burger had to be better than the outer, but it wasn't much better. The burger I got was kind of dry and a little sweet I think from the pickle they used. The bun was soft but potato buns always are, but I was just expecting something a little better than I got. There are also charred onions inside the burger, but mine were also overcooked.

Yelp
Incredible smash burgers, friendly and fast service, very cool NYC plus western ambiance! A must visit and experience food gem! Please try the "Frickles"!!!

Yelp
I can't lie, coming to New York, I didn't think that burgers would be this high up on my list of foods to recommend trying once I got home. This is truly one of the best burgers I've had in my life. I usually hate pickles, but the pickles are amazing in these. My boyfriend and I got the double smash burger and the smashburger, and they weren't heavy or overly oily at all. The fries were crunchy, but still light and fluffy on the inside. The service was quick despite the long line and lively spot, and the interior was adorable!

Yelp
Until last year, I was a bit skeptical of the smash burger craze, but Gotham Burger Social Club, along with Hamburger America, convinced me of the merits of the smash burger at the top of their game. The Gotham Smash was excellent. Wonderfully flavorful and well-proportioned, the classic was just about perfect with the single patty, grilled onions, melted cheese, jalapeños, and sauces. We also were fans of the Veg'n-out Smash, which is a vegan version made with Impossible Beef. While inferior to the original, it was satisfyingly close. Less notable was the Gotham Dog, which was topped with sauerkraut, relish, ketchup, mustard, and jalapeños. I'm not sure what exactly is in the "club sauce," but it was yummy and elevated all three items. The fries were fabulous--perfectly fried and crispy and salty. We managed to get a booth without issue when we arrived at around 12:15PM on a Saturday. By 1PM there was a line out the door. Overall Gotham Burger was a great fast casual dining option with a casual, down-to-earth atmosphere. Huge plus that there were high chairs.

Yelp
So i finally made it to Gotham Burger.. I was so curious about it soni went through and had a double Patti cheeseburger and Fries with a Chocolate Egg Cream. Egg Cream was on point and very delicious.. Could be a a bit colder but didn't disappoint nonetheless. The Burger was good. It wasn't mind blowing in my opinion. 2 smash patties with cheese on a bun. Cheese was minimal. But I ate it. Fries were good. Good flavor . Could be a bit more crisp but were definitely good. Service was cool. You get in, wait in line and order when you get to the register. Let them know if you're gonna take out or eat in the venue. The spot was cool. Nice and neat. Average noise. Not crazy with super loud music. If I make it back I'll definitely request extra cheese if they can do that. If you're into Burgers try this spot out. Might be a hit for you! Have a great day everyone!

Yelp
Solid smash-burger. Beastie boy was tasty. Ghost pepper ranch is a must. Great service. Great atmosphere. Organized and respectful considering how busy they were. 0 complaints. Would 100% recommend.

Yelp
One of the best smash burgers in the city?!? Stopped in on a cold Saturday afternoon, short line but still had to wait about 10-15 minutes. Security at the door was nice, staff was attentive & instructed you on how things go when you walk in. Standing line to order food, menu's are around so you can gather what you want before you order. Order, give your name, pay, grab a seat, then they'll call your name when it's ready. The space is pretty small but the do a good job of maintaining the area, they won't let you in until they let a good amount of people out or your same number of party. Food comes out in a reasonable time considering they are super busy. Burger was exceptional, packed with flavor, seasoned well & even had the burnt edges on the burger that was delightful. The fries were salted well, hot, fresh & enough to share with 2 people. Don't forget to try the club sauce. Maybe just a bit over priced but what isn't in nyc? I would absolutely get another burger from here. Having tried 7th street burger & Hamburger America i would say right now they rank #1 for me (until i try more smash burgers in the city).

Yelp
I must confess - I was originally in LES to dine elsewhere, but when I passed Gotham it smelled so good I had to go grab a burger instead. And it exceeded every expectation I had. You order at the counter and then grab a table to sit at. The inside is bigger than you'd expect, but with decent amount of tables and some seats at the bar! I ordered a single smash burger with tots. The burger is literally soooooo good - and this is coming from someone who never really craves a burger. The smash burger patty is delightfully crispy, has the perfect amount of sauce drizzled on top, gooey cheese, fragrant onions, and the right sour kick from the pickles. It is seriously so good.
google avatar

Yelp
Gotham Burger is a bit of an odd spot. It's got sort of a classy bar vibe on the outside, but then it has more of a country western bar vibe on the inside. All of that aside, the burgers and fried pickles were delicious. Definitely worth the wait. Although, I would recommend not going on a cold night. You might be standing out in the cold for a while.

Yelp
We were walking in Manhattan and stumbled across this spot that immediately caught my eye. As a comic nerd that had never visited NYC before, reading the word GOTHAM on anything immediately gets my attention. Didn't hurt that we overheard a guy at the crosswalk mention that it had one of the best smash burgers in the city so we decided to take it on and MAN, this is probably the best smash burger I've ever had. The meat was thin and soft but with a slight crunch. The bread melted in your mouth and the onions and cheese just added to that explosion of flavor. The Gotham dog was pretty tasty too, especially if you love relish like I do. If you're in the area, must try!
google avatar

Yelp
Cuisine: 7 Service: 7 Decor: 7 Value: 6 Overall: 7 Behind all the hype, this was just another smash burger, and not the best I have had. It was good, but I thought it would be better. After all, this restaurant is opened by someone who got famous trying all of the best burgers in town. You would think they would make the nearly perfect smash burger. Anyway, it's not bad and definitely better than average, but it's not my favorite in NYC.
google avatar

Nicole K.

Yelp
Oh yeah, this place absolutely slaps. Burgers are phenomenal, loaded tots are a must. Would go here over Seventh Street any day of the week
google avatar

Aimee H.

Yelp
Came here on a weekday night for a casual dinner with a friend and we were able to snag one of the high tops although it was pretty packed. I got a single patty and a side of tater tots. I felt like their smash burger is a bit fancier than other fast food places like 7th street and enjoyed that the patty had crispy edges. They give a generous amount of tots and they were perfectly crunchy. Also my first time trying an egg cream!
google avatar

Demetri P.

Yelp
Burgers were on point. A must try if you are in the area. Tots and fries were super crispy
google avatar

Evan N.

Yelp
The atmosphere is cool as it feels like a quick burger place back in time. As far as the food I honestly just felt like down the middle of the road. It wasn't bad but it didn't blow my mind either. If in the area 100% try but I wouldn't find it somehwere to go out of my way for. The onion rings and ranch might have been my favorite thing. Try this place out for yourself!
google avatar

Yelp
Greasy with no flavor ...way overhyped! I love smash burgers and was excited to try as some have said these are the best. I was sadly disappointed. I am still on the lookout.

Yelp
Being vegetarian there are very few burgers I recommend, not because lack of variety, but because plant based beef is very difficult to work with at times. In NYC, I am very blessed to have the opportunity to explore plant based burgers and Gotham Burger really set a high standard. There's something about a restaurant that sells only thing but sells quality that makes me appreciate the art more. Notes: - Single and double patties were extra smashed and nice and crispy - Pickles are sweet and salty pickles; not traditional dill pickles - Jalapeños are also sweet and spicy - Frickles 10/10 - House ranch 10/10 I definitely recommend going to the actual restaurant but uber eats is also an option; which is nice when you are in a bind. I order the double with the works (caramelized onions, smash patty pickles and house sauce) but ultimately you can choose your burger however you want it.
google avatar

Cate T.

Yelp
This place is a casual and bustling burger spot. You order at the counter and try to find a spot, which was doable on a Wednesday around 6:20, but got quickly harder to do after then. The food came pretty fast though, probably within 10 minutes! The burgers itself (we got two double smashes) were okay - not as juicy as seventh street. I know it's a smash burger, but it tasted super overdone. The fried pickles were AMAZING. I would go back just for these. The fries were great too, and the taco was meh. It's a fun spot though, and would recommend if you love a smash burger!

Yelp
This cowboy-themed place is quite hyped; there was a 20min, 20 person out-the-doline (granted on a Friday night). Makes sense, as the actual restaurant is tiny for the amount of people, fitting only about 30 people sitting. Still, the friendly staff is very experienced with the crowds and the line moved faster than expected. The interior is an organized chaos of people moving about, and is incredibly noisy. Don't come here for a quiet meal. The menu is small, but the food is fantastic. The Gotham smashburger is so soft, flavorful, and tender and it melts in your mouth. I got the triple, and it was gone in an instant. I highly recommend the frickles (fried pickles) with the ghost pepper sauce for a zesty, sour-spicy treat. It's not cheap but not break-the-bank either. For the HIMYM fans, I'm not sure if there's a best burger in NY, but if there is, Gotham Burger might be it. Would def come back (but maybe when it's less busy).

Yelp
Good burger. Supposedly one of the best in the city and I'm inclined to agree, smash burger category. Chosen as the post omakase add on, as is tradition for my crew. Line moved fairly quickly and the staff helped us get seats after ordering on the kiosk. It's a bit chaotic but you're not exactly here for ambience. On to the burger. Large patty. Lots of onions. Good customization allowed me to remove everything but the meat, onion and cheese. Despite the mounds of onions, it didn't overpower the burger. The meat and cheese come thru and the structural integrity holds up. Well executed. Good choice.

Yelp
This smashburger that has been gaining popularity on Instagram and TikTok as well as forming a line to get inside is unfortunately not worth the hype. I have no problem waiting on line to get seated or order something. But this line was disorganized because there is one guy making sure the line is in order and when you get to the entrance, this lady comes in and gesture how many is in your party and supposedly to follow her. I followed her aimlessly to be led to nowhere but thankfully I didn't lose my spot on line because of her. You are to suppose to order first then find a table yourself. There should be a line to-go orders only and a line for eating in aka being seated then you can place your order I ordered a classic smashburger with double patty and fries. When I took the first bite, it was just your typical smashburger and the fries were overly salty that I needed sweetness from the ketchup to ease the saltiness of the fries. I felt no point in waiting for this burger that people overhyped and make it the elite symbol of smashburger. The place had this dude ranch, country vibe with rock/country music playing which added to the experience. But this did NOT enhance the flavor of the smashburger. Also one employee had to shout almost screaming to tell people on line to not block the entrance/exit. This just gave me a headache and wanted to leave faster. It was an unpleasant experience for me personally and I won't go out of my way to wait on this line. But if you want to try this overhyped smashburger, just have patient and be attentive until you find a seat and have your order

Yelp
Ambiance: 10/10 When I walked into the restaurant, it gave me Harlem Shake vibes. If you don't know what Harlem Shake is, then you haven't traveled in Manhattan enough. I am truly thankful that the ceiling fan was working. The day I went was hot. The name of the restaurant piqued my interest. It piqued the interest of my friends. I like how clean the tables and chairs were. The picture frame on the wall fits the mood with the music. Service: When I walked in, I was puzzled about how the service and tabling worked, but the lady at the counter helped me out. So, for those who are coming here for the first time, no need to worry, one of the employees is going to help you out. One thing I realize is that because of how crowded it can be and depending on the size of your party, you may be waiting for quite some time. And they don't have a place for you to sit down and wait until they direct you to a table. Food: I purchased a Gotham Burger with everything except jalapeños and grilled onions. I don't like spice. The burger tastes quite similar to Harlem Shake but they have a unique spin to their meal which makes the distinction great. Their fries are crunchy, and quite scrumptious if you ask me. A decent amount of salt on the fries. The food was just phenomenally delicious. I dare say it's underrated. Overall 10/10 I would go there again, in fact, I have. I meant to publish this review a while ago. The first time that I went was on July 28. Yet, here I am publishing this review on the last day of September. Well, better now than never. Long boring story short, this place is good eats and I'd recommend anyone to go here for a simple burger.

Yelp
A well-executed smash burger classic that captures the charm of a traditional NYC establishment, complemented by excellent sides, an unapologetically social dining area, and quick service. Here's the takeaway: is this place worth your wallet on a Friday night? If you've tried the major smash burger establishments i.e. 7th street and Shake Shack, this is a must go. The flavors and execution are fresh enough, with the potato bun, tater tots, onion rings, and a slightly upscale casual dining experience. The burger melts in your mouth, fries and crispy and well seasoned, and the original sauce is excellent. The punchline? This is a great burger. A 10x repeater spot? Not quite.

Yelp
Where to begin? I don't remember the last time I had a burger this good. Hands-down the best onion rings I've ever had .The fried pickles are great, just make sure to let them cool off. The owner is awesome and very hands-on , he was cleaning up the restaurant when we went and helping hand out to go orders. Very authentic ambience, gives Cowboy hats , not @ all New York. Would absolutely recommend. The only downside is that there may be a wait, but trust me it's worth it.

Yelp
Gotham is not my favorite smashburger but their sides are very good. I've tried the tots, fried pickles, and onion rings, along with their house sauces, and they are impressive. The smashburger deviates from the standard smash with burger, sauce, pickle, cheese, and onions; they add jalapeños and ketchup and mustard. It's not bad, but it's not standard. I didn't like the cider they had either, it was very dry. 8% alcohol though so that was cool. Service was attentive and it was a good time.

Yelp
Came here Saturday afternoon for a filling and good lunch and a line was already forming haha. I got the Gotham smash double burger and it was pretty juicy, crispy and perfect. The tator tots were salty but yet had the crunch on the dot. Definitely a spot to go out on a date night, hanging with friends and just having a good time. I would come here again for the not bad price.

Yelp
The place is pretty crowded. Popped in around 6 pm so makes sense that everyone is trying to grab some food. I ordered a burger to go and had a beer for the wait. The beer was good! A cute ipa, clean tasting and a little fruity. The burger was actually pretty good! I did t get the jalapeño but the cook was nice. The double definitely filled me up! I'd go again and check out the frickles. It's a cute play on fried pickles!!

Yelp
The burgers tastes great and are true smash burgers. The service was also professional and the food was served fast. Don't expect lettuce and tomatoes they don't serve this on none of there burgers but the Burger just the way it is was very good. Restaurant was very clean my family enjoyed ourselves thank you owner Mike Puma. JPM
