RiNo’s Latest Pop-Up Combines Disco, Art, and Cocktails - Eater Denver

"For its six-month tenure — which started the end of September — the pop-up space has exploded with plant life, purple lights, and rainbow wallpaper. Customers approach an iPad-studded counter to order from a menu of CapRock vodka and gin cocktails, brandies, and hot teas mixed with those spirits. The bar itself is hidden away like the backstage of a production. Once inside, it’s choose your own adventure — catching up on the set couches and chairs, perusing local artwork, or getting down to dance tracks late into the evening." - Josie Sexton

What a great spot to have a frosty beverage, and hang out with friends! I love their big pretzels. I love that there are options for non beer drinkers as well. Their frozen Paloma is on point. The vibe here is friendly, casual, welcoming. It’s very dog friendly. They have a few cornhole set ups, a large indoor space, and a great patio perfect for sunny day hangs with friends. The murals on two of the walls are beautiful.

its a beer life

Google
We went to an after hours party here after the Psycon conference in Denver. The beers and venue were great. The staff was outstanding for taking care of us and we were a large thirsty and hungry party group. The food was great and plentiful. The brewery has great indoor and outdoor seating. There were corn hole games and things to keep us busy and entertained. If your looking for a place for an event or company or after hours venue then look no further than 14er Brewery

Google
I absolutely love 14er Brewing! Everything from their beer to their service is above and beyond what you would expect. I know there are a lot of breweries in this area, and you may be tempted to visit the others; however, only at 14er have I found great beer, friendly staff, a great (dog friendly!!) patio, and now great food from their food truck! This place is owned and operated by Colorado natives, and you can tell by the environment and culture that they have created that they truly get it (I mean, the name is 14er after all!). I cannot say enough great things about this place -- go!!

Google
Our company recently held an event at the brewery. We were able to rent out the entire place so we'd have room to spread out, privately conduct our presentation and have a relaxed atmosphere. I worked with Nato on organizing. He was super responsive, answered all of my questions as I was booking from all the way in Louisiana and the staff was completely updated on our needs upon arrival. They were fun, lively, helpful and we really enjoyed hosting our event at this location. It's exactly what you'd hope for in a brewery and gave the perfect atmosphere and overall vibe for our event. If we do return to Denver for another event, I know exactly who I'm calling. Thank you so much for doing such a great job! ~the Lingraphica Team.

Google
Great brewery. Possibly the best. They have an honest to goodness espresso machine standing right next to the beer so they can take care of all of your needs. Fabulous service and funky merch to buy.

Google
Best brewery in Denver! Great atmosphere, fantastic staff, and great beer! They won two great American beer festival medals so far. Locally owned and dog friendly. Do yourself a favor and grab a beer (key lime is crazy good)

Google
A great brewery in RiNo. Has a very specious outdoor seating area. They have a food truck outside however due to reasons unknown to me it's closed and will be for the foreseeable future. To make up for this they serve pretzels and hot dogs, perfect brewery food. But I would like the food truck to open up sooner rather than later. Overall a great brewery with very tasty Hazy IPAs in particular. Highly recommended.

Google
We accidentally stumbled upon this Brewery and it was a pure gem. The beer was phenomenal and seemed to be made with so much intention. Very impressed with the entire experience. Staff were also friendly and knowledgeable. Dog Friendly patio and all around just a great experience. Check it out and see for yourself!

Yelp
Good beer fun vibes! Nice outdoor space with bag toss, great for groups. Smaller beer menu, we got a Luna colada IPA that was surprisingly tasty! Would definitely stop in again!

Yelp
I used to love this place and was hesitant leaving a negative review but my last few visits have been a huge let down. For some reason, there are very few beers on tap. I initially thought it was a one-off thing but it's been the case the last two times I went. One of the things I used to love about this place was a wide selection of amazing beers. The second issue is the cold water and cold hand dryers in the bathroom. I worry about gems running rampant when there's no real way to properly wash and dry your hands. It's also often very cold in the building. Everything is just cold, cold, cold and in addition to being unsanitary, it's just uncomfortable. Third issue is the payment setup. I used a credit card last time I visited but they charged a different card I had previously used. Not only is this hugely problematic for people who opt to use debit cards and might accidentally overdraw an account but it's also worrisome that they still have access to every card I've used there when my previous visit had been a few months prior.

Yelp
The beer was STELLAR. We had the key lime pie and the Pina colada milkshake IPA, and both were super drinkable and complex. Highly highly recommend just based on the beer. However, the space is super cute and fun too. Love the exposed brick, the mural, and the hop lanterns. Service was super friendly and quick. All the way around, it was a great visit, and I look forward to recommending them to everyone I know as well as going back!

Yelp
Yeah, I wanted to like this place, but I couldn't give it five stars. It bums me out. The service was less than stellar, as was my beer selection. I had the Desert Mirage, but didn't like it at all. I gave it a 1 on Untappd. I normally like sours, but this combo of Persian limes, prickly pears, and salt left me with a horrible aftertaste. I couldn't finish my beer. As for the service, if you could call it that, was equally disappointing. The bartender was more interested in talking to her friends than helping out paying customers. Maybe it's because 14er Brewing forces each tab a mandatory 20% tip. For each of those reasons, I knocked a star off this review. The bottom line is we're in Colorado. It's the Land of Breweries. If you are stellar, you may be able to get away with some of these things...maybe. But when you're not stellar, there are so many other places to go to spend your money on good beer and service. So, we thank the Hop Passport for allowing us to try 14er, but we won't be back, even with an offer for a free beer. PS: I'm adding this PS. I know not every beer is for everyone. I can look past that. I can't look past poor service, especially when there are several breweries in the area. I vote with my money.

Yelp
I came here with my husband and some new friends for trivia. The trivia was high quality, and the beer was good, too. I also love that people can bring their dogs! There is only a Bavarian pretzel on the menu, but you can bring food in.
google avatar

Kait S.

Yelp
Great service, dogs allowed, and cool place. They had very limited beer and no IPA selection though which most of my group wasn't happy with. I got a slushy/seltzer flight and they were great. I especially liked the pumpkin pie slushy.
google avatar

Aundya A.

Yelp
Came here for the Arc'teryx RiNo opening event, and I had a blast. The complimentary beer we received was very tasty, and I loved the food truck options for tacos and ice cream. I want to return here for a regular brewery night -- especially with how close it is to the Movement gym. The staff were super friendly, and the service was quick considering the amount of people they had in the establishment.
google avatar

Adam D.

Yelp
Kid friendly and plenty of space. Not much atmosphere and the taco truck left early. Not a fan of the "pay as you go" with a service charge. Felt like I was buying a beer at a vending machine
google avatar

Eddie C.

Yelp
First off I love the decor of the taproom. The pictures of all the 14ers are great. The bartender was very friendly and welcoming. I ordered a flight of four beers and I loved the presentation. The beers were fine but one stood out, the Triple Berry Sour. It was delicious. I would've love to visit again.
google avatar

Chelsey B.

Yelp
14er brewing has an excellent outdoor patio with lots of seating. This was our first time at this brewery and I was pleasantly surprised with their beer as well as the cobbler slush. They had limited food options but had lots of drink options. I would recommend coming here before or after dinner. You can bring your dog to this brewery and they also have games to play at your table. Parking is tricky as is all of RINO but we were lucky to find street parking nearby. The staff were super friendly and let us try samples of the beer before purchasing. This brewery is a good addition to Rino!
google avatar

Catherine M.

Yelp
We were able to try this place during Oktoberfest when the weather was great and they had live music. They had a half opened indoor where they were playing college football on Saturday. Staff wasn't as Denver friendly as we've experienced but they were quick to bus your tables. The menu was a bit limited due to the event but we loved the stein we bought. The frozen beer made me have a reaction (think I'm sensitive to frozen drinks) but was tasty but quite sweet. My fiancé enjoyed his beer!
google avatar

Jill H.

Yelp
Very friendly, great outdoor space are the highlights. Beers are hit and miss, at least on our recent visit. Hits were the wild ales and chili saison (of you like that kind of beer). I enjoyed the tropical hype fruited sour very much. Our son was a little less enthused with his choices. I didn't particularly enjoy the key lime, though my husband thought it was average-plus. I'd say 14er is a definite 3.5, rounded up for good atmosphere (especially the outside space if warm enough) and the friendly service.
google avatar

Corey S.

Yelp
I went here for a book swap event and it was a great spot! I tried the key lime cream beer and it was delicious! I didn't try any food but saw a few people with pizzas and they looked very yummy. The staff was very friendly and there was plenty of room for about 35 of us to swap books for the Denver book swap society. I am looking forward to coming back next month.
google avatar

Kayla L.

Yelp
We ordered a flight of the sours. Overall, rather sour (which I like). However, they were pretty "beer-y". They have a lot of indoor and outdoor seating! The staff was friendly. It was pretty quiet on a Wednesday afternoon. I found it to be a bit more expensive than I expected. They also add a 20% service charge as well, just an fyi! Overall good experience!
google avatar

Emily C.

Yelp
I don't normally love non-sour beer but the Chocolate Chip Peanut Butter Cookie stout is one of the best beers I've ever tasted. It straight up tastes exactly like a cookie... my guy and I loved these so much we bought some to go and drank them the next day on the ski lift (see pic for proof!) The vibe here was really cool too. We went during the Winter Olympics which were playing on all the screens! Would've loved to sit outside and admire the murals if it weren't so chilly. Loved this place!
google avatar

Tim K.

Yelp
Weird they charge 20% "service fee" for all orders. Bar tenders act just like they are getting a guaranteed 20% tip. IE I don't give a fluff. Who are you? Oh you want beer at a brewery? Ok wait. Not a fan.
google avatar

Tamar M.

Yelp
Ambiance and location are great! Customer service was unfriendly and they charge a 20% forced gratuity. Beers were average and nothing to rave about. We won't be back.
google avatar

Caitlin E.

Yelp
Highly recommend 14er brewery! Nato and his team are AMAZING! Bring your pets, and come have a beer! 14er donates 1% of sales to the Colorado Fourteeners Initiative- and they are a great supporter of other charities in Denver! Come check out their hats, and other merch as well!
google avatar

Terry S.

Yelp
if you are going to be adding your own gratuity to a check you should be providing good service. Bartenders are less than thrilled when you approach the bar, not a smile from any of them. Not even an offer to answer questions about the menu, is this your first time here....nothing. I was only there to see the band and I am amazed at how places run these days.
google avatar

Michael Y.

Yelp
Surprisingly large number of beers are on trap. They have some good number of seltzer too.
google avatar

Ashley A.

Yelp
Large selection including seltzers - my favorite part is that they offer a huge beer mug option. They run a no tipping operation so it's all included automatical
google avatar

Matt R.

Yelp
Great beer and taproom with great outdoor and indoor space for all types of weather. 14er brewing is a hidden gem in the RiNo Neighborhood, but shouldn't be overlooked. They always have a balanced beer selection with some amazing flagships like their chili beer and their Longs Lager. This place has amazing outdoor and indoor space as well as close proximity to all the other great attractions in RiNo. Check these guys out for a different kind of RiNo Brewery.
google avatar

Alyssa D.

Yelp
Really great location with a lot of room and seating. Decent beer selection, but I honestly was more impressed w the boozy slushies!
google avatar

Eric G.

Yelp
Cool place inside very inviting. A bit expense for the quality 24 bucks for a flight of beers includes 4 dollar tip as 20 percent service fee apply. The flight beers look like 4 oz. The fluff pils great beer, longs lager has butterscotch in it which to me is a off flavor diacetyl the bells with hibiscus was nice and the hazy boi was great! It would be nice to have a pale and west coast ipa on tap. Give 'em a try we should all be supporting local.
google avatar

Amanda I.

Yelp
Two words: beer slushies. I know, they sound girly and gross, like the wine coolers from college. But trust this Denver brewery. Like most in the area, they have some talent and know what they are doing. We tried two different flights, the flagship flight and the summer flight, and three of the four people in our group proclaimed the slushies as our favorites. They both had such good flavor combos that were well balanced and not overly sweet. They were not completely reminiscent of beer but also did not just taste like a fruit juice or a frozen drink you would get at the state fair. We were also fans of the Key Lime Pie Cream Ale and Rocky Mountain Saison. The prices are very reasonable at $15 per flight and four 5 oz tasters each. This was a great place to start our beer tour of Denver.

Olivia C.

Yelp
Stopped here for a few sours and IPAs before dinner. Met the head brewer who was friendly and gave us great recommendations.
google avatar

David K.

Yelp
I visit a lot of breweries, and this was by far my worst experience. The bartender clearly treated us differently because we were not frequent visitors, very rude and dismissive. They add 20% for tips automatically, so why would they give a sh!t? The beer itself is mediocre at best; anyone that thinks this is good beer has not been around the block. The IPA flight costs just under $20, which is obscene for what is basically a pint. Only the Treevine IPA was worth a damn, and the others were borderline disgusting. My girlfriend had the slushies and was not impressed, either. Then to top off the night, we ordered an overpriced pretzel. I mean, how could you screw that up, right? There was hardly any salt on it, it was doughy and flavorless, and the cheese sauce was tiny and had almost no flavor either. Seriously, there are so many great breweries around here; why the hell anyone comes here is beyond me.
google avatar

Tom G.

Yelp
Nice place with multiple rooms. The staff was friendly and the beers were solid. I sampled: Key Lime Pie Cream Ale (great) Rocky Mountain Saison very good) Denver Michelada (unique) Neapolitan Milk Stout nitro (excellent)
google avatar

Kaitlyn S.

Yelp
BEST BREWERY IN DENVER. Their beers are great, the service is always amazing annnnnd their food truck is to die for. I could eat their parm garlic wings every single day of my life, definitely be sure to try this place out !! Dog friendly and make their own seltzers!! So good
google avatar

David K.

Yelp
Went here on a Saturday afternoon. Got there 20 minutes after they opened and they were already pretty busy. They had a back room and then another back room that had a street/patio few. There was a small room with couches and a tv. The bartender greeted us as soon as we walked to the bar. Bartender was very friendly and explained all beers and which ones he recommended and which ones he did not care for. They had about 8 of their own beers and a few guest taps. All beers were like in color. No porters or stouts or dark beers of their own. The people I was with like dark beers so they didn't have any selection for them. We ordered the IPA, Double IPA, Tropical Pale and Key Lime. Beers were mediocre at best. Not that good. Will not be back or recommend to anybody.
google avatar

B H.

Yelp
Feel like people pass on this brewery because it's new and there's so many other established breweries in the area. We hit ALL breweries in the rhino district and this one was just as good and, better than most breweries out here as far as beer goes. They are also the ONLY brewery in this area that had a tacker sign for sale! Nice one too not just another circular piece of metal. I'll go back to this place for sure.
google avatar

Carly W.

Yelp
+ Exposed brick everywhere? Check! + Awesome space with room to grow? Check! + Great location in an up and coming neighborhood? Check! + Fun and knowledgeable staff? Check! + Fantastic brews? Check! Heading to my car from Stem Ciders I stumbled upon a sidewalk sign urging me to head into 14er Brewing. Well I did and I was hooked! I walked in and was greeted by some of the friendliest beertenders I ever did meet. That's a big deal since it was a four to one ratio of staff to me! But we had a grand ol' time talking about the changes to the neighborhood in the past ten years, sports, and whatever else caught our fancy! I sipped on the the Rocky Mountain Saison; so good - heavy with jalapeño, cilantro, and lime notes. Loved it! I even got a chance to try the sour they offer. It's a variation of the Maroon Bells Lager with guava added and kettle soured. Waaay lighter than most sours I've had. Def something I would take on a hike! The space is awesome! They have a small front room with exposed brick everywhere! Love! Back behind that there's another mid-sized room with a couple of picnic tables. Can't wait to see how they develop this awesome space! All in all such a fantastic way to end my evening in RiNo. Can't wait to come back to 14er Brewing and see what's on tap!
google avatar

Abbie L.

Yelp
This place gets 5 starts because it's dog friendly and has amazing beer! Perfect place to grab a beer with friends at any time of day.
google avatar

Jennifer S.

Yelp
The beer was so good, I loved the atmosphere and the staff was super attentive and friendly! Would definitely recommend. We had a groupon so that was why we chose 14er but so happy that we did because it was a great place!
google avatar

Lucas E.

Yelp
You cant walk 10 blocks in Denver without seemingly passing a dope brewery and 14er is yet another example. Kind of exactly the vide I was expecting from the name, and I mean that in a good way. Great beers, great service, fairly priced, cool part of town. They have a beer-to-go parking spot.. I mean come on. Just go. Drink local!
google avatar

Cela G.

Yelp
Ohhh 14er!!! Fun spot to go to!! We purchased their Groupon for four of us which included a growler and a cup to go. They have outdoor seating with plenty of beers to choose from.
google avatar

Joey W.

Yelp
Grabbed a Baskin Juice in the light beer section. The beer had a hint of fruitiness. A good beer to sip on outdoors (all tables were spread apart).
google avatar

Kelly M.

Yelp
I had a great time at 14er! The beer flights were awesome and it was a great place to spend the afternoon with friends. The patio is nice and open and I love the outside view of the brewery. The workers were really nice and fun to talk to as well. I'm not even a beer person but I'd highly recommend 14er Brewing & Beer Garden. It was one of the highlights of my visit!
google avatar

Hector B.

Yelp
Omg! Great beer. Great service. Awesome fun time in a great environment. I love and appreciate the passion here. It was late and busy, yet they had time for beer love
google avatar

Lyndsay C.

Yelp
I am new in town but been hitting a lot of breweries in the area... this is the best one. its a chill space, a true brewery. the beer is amazing. I am a fan of sours. my boyfriend likes stout. they are amazing options for both of us. we had our favorite beers in the city here. the owner is awesome and knows his stuff, seriously..... ask him anything!
google avatar

Samantha P.

Yelp
As previous yelpers have said this place is not about the atmosphere. The location and spot is going to be amazing, I'm sure when finished. When I go to a brewery I go for the beer, the atmosphere is just a bonus. We had the Groupon for 2 people. 6 pours and a crowler plus you take home the glass. When I tell you this new brewery has probably the best beer I have ever taste is an understatement. I'm not an IPA person, but even the ipas are delicious. Kudos to the two owners for being young and making such great beer. Congrats and good luck in the future you guys are going to have one of the best breweries in Colorado.
google avatar

Jeremy M.

Yelp
Horrible bar to visit if you aren't in a group that comes regularly! They treat you like shit. They let their guests vape in the bar next to other people and don't give a crap.
google avatar

Sarah Q.

Yelp
The Groupon deal on this was excellent - 6-6 oz. tasters, a tulip glass, & a 32 oz. crowler-to-go with your choice of beer for $15 a person... you honestly can't beat that! I was so excited to try this place with my Groupon. Unfortunately, not being a fan of IPAs or sour beers, I wasn't a huge fan of the beer. The guava (tropical) ale was pretty tasty, & ended up being the one I took home in my crowler. I normally like saisons so I was excited to try theirs -they get kudos for their creativity with strong flavors of cilantro & peppers, but just wasn't my favorite. Unfortunately we went at the end of the night, so they were out of their key lime pie cream ale, which I was excited to try. The bartender was excellent, though - extremely accommodating & friendly. Unfortunately the ambiance was slightly disappointing - I know they are new & in the process of doing a big build out, but half the fun of trying new breweries is the ambiance & the three picnic tables in the middle of the back room was not the most picture-esque. They also appeared to be out of a lot of things (i.e. 2 different beers, their stickers, extra glasses, etc.). I may come back to try the key lime pie cream ale, but might wait until they are more re-vamped & decorated. TL;DR: if you like IPAs & sours, this place is for you!
google avatar

Tiffany T.

Yelp
It seems as though the guys just opened up -- so they don't have their full license quite yet, but grab a Groupon -- or if not $12 gets you six 6-oz pours of their beer, and the cup is yours to keep -- not a bad deal to try some new brews! They had quite a few different for us to try -- the ones that stood out to me was their double IPA, their key lime beer ( my first key lime beer ever) and also their guava saison. Overall, all their beers were worth trying and worth checking out in my opinion. One of the servers poured quite a bit less than 6 ounces, but the other server made up for it ;)
google avatar

Lea S.

Yelp
As someone who lives in Denver and is not a huge fan of beer, I was very impressed with 14er Brewing & Beer Garden. I am a dark beer fan and their array of darks flavors was great. Most places have one, maybe two, dark options, but here they offer about 6 options. My favorite was the Coffee Cask Finished Russian Imperial Stout, but really, they were all fantastic. I also got a sample of the Lime Watermelon Jalapeño Seltzer, because I love jalapeño, and was curious about. That is a super fun drink.
google avatar

Kerry A.

Yelp
Cool, spacious taproom with fun games and easy-going people. There's two warehouse-style rooms here, each with a few tables and loads of board games, jenga, etc... The beers were good, but nothing to write home about. The bar itself was barely decorated, the design and aesthetic that went into this taproom is quite minimal compared to other breweries in Five Points. I'd recommend grabbing a big flight and sitting down at their long picnic table to a game of jenga with lots of friends. No time pressure here and not too much reason to leave!
google avatar

Sabine M.

Yelp
Beer is good. They wind a medal at GABF for the jalapeño saison. Pints are $7. On the high side compared to other breweries in RiNo.
google avatar

Matt B.

Yelp
I don't drink, so take this review with a grain of salt. But they play terrible music on the patio through very sh!tty speakers, and it's not pleasant to the esrs. And they used to have better food trucks. Whatever though, I'm sure the beer is good. Just turn the music down, or get better speakers.
google avatar

Sonia S.

Yelp
Awesome place! The atmosphere created is very urban and artsy. Local artwork is displayed and available for sale. As well as 14er gear (t-shirts, hoodies, socks, hats, beanies and stickers) - to brag about the 14er you hiked today! The Key Lime Pie Beer is my favorite, being from South Florida! This ale leaves a subtle graham cracker taste that will take you to the tropics. MUST TRY! Tim has great judgement on beer selection; just tell him what you like: sweet, sour, hoppy, etc.. he will use his expertise to get you the right beer. Love this place, as they also do flights. Try a variety of beer in 4, 4 ounce flights for only $10!!
google avatar

Roy H.

Yelp
14er Brewing has been in the works and brewing elsewhere for a while. Great to see them open a taproom in RiNo The taproom is really basic right now. Small bar up front and some tables in back with lots of room to grow. One of the owners was working the bar when I went - really cool to be able to talk to the owner/brewer!! They have some big plans for this place and I am excited to see it grow. The key lime cream ale was probably my favorite of the ones I tasted. Great sessionable beer with a really nice sweet/tart twist to it.
