The Best Restaurants in the Eastside of King County | Eater Seattle

"Tucked in Redmond’s Overlake neighborhood next to shabu shabu restaurant Shaburina, 151 Days offers a concise menu centered on free-range, heritage Bresse chickens, which owner Yongshen Guo raises 50 miles north in Arlington. The braised snack platter is a neatly arranged trio of peanuts, eggs, and tofu. The smoky chicken noodle soup and accompanying sides add vegetal notes to a rich chicken broth. Finish the meal with a millet doughnut and glass of tangy sea buckthorn juice (imagine a carrot-flavored jolly rancher) for a satisfying send-off. 151 Days is open for on-site and takeout dining." - Brett Bankson

Food is very decent and authentic over all. Water spinach with satay beef - 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 definitely my personal favorite. Well flavored, good meat to veg ratio and fresh spinach. Braised pork rice - 🌟🌟🌟🌟 Very authentic and well flavored. Egg was eggcellent. “Pork sandwich” - 🌟🌟🌟💫 Has a very interesting kinda sweet flavor to it. Popcorn chicken - 🌟🌟🌟 This was rather mild and average. Also didn’t quite like the fact that it was served last when it is an appetizer. Sorry but appetizers are meant to come before entrees and yes it does matter.

The food tasted awful and the quality was very bad. We ordered Stir-Fried Pea Shoots With Garlic, Boneless Salted Duck (Half Duck) and Taiwanese Fried Rice Noodles. The Pea Shoots were very tough and stringy like eating fiber. I can put a stem standup vertically on the plate ( as shown in the picture). The salted Duck is supposed to be a cold dish, but it came with cold tasteless duck meat with hot cooked bean sprouts. At last the fried rice noodles tasted salty and mushy. Meat and vegetables were not mixed well with the noodles. We mentioned it to the waiter about the bean shoots were too tough, he just offer making another vegetable dish. No apologies. We will not go back again.

Google
While this spot offers authentic Taiwanese dishes, the taste is inconsistent, some were fantastic, like three cup chicken and Saturday veggies with beef, others weren't great, like the pineapple shrimp. It's a quiet and clean option for casual dining, but you can find better Taiwanese cuisine elsewhere.

We chose this restaurant for our first dinner of the trip because it was conveniently located right across from our hotel and had good reviews. The restaurant has plenty of seating and a casual ambiance. We were seated quickly and ordered their famous Yam And Bamboo Fungus Chicken Soup and Stir-fried Bamboo Shoots with Black Pork ,stir-fried Water Spinach with Garlic and a special deal where we added a plate of Mapo tofu for just $1 more. The food arrived impressively fast. The soup lived up to its reputation—heartwarming and perfect for a chilly evening. Every dish was flavorful and authentically Taiwanese, but they were all a bit on the salty side. If I were to visit again, I’d ask for less salt, which would make the dishes truly perfect. Overall, it was a satisfying meal with great efficiency and authentic flavors—a wonderful start to our trip!

151 Days is serving up authentic Taiwanese dishes with portions so big, you'll need a friend! Boneless Saltwater Duck (Half) $24.95 Taiwanese Fried Rice with Shrimp $15.95

This restaurant had started out as a specialty chicken restaurant with a rather limited chicken focused menu. I had dined here when they first opened, and while the quality of chicken was great, there wasn't enough variety to accommodate my picking eating family. Fast forward to last week when we didn't want to wait at Shaburina next door D decided to give this another try. We were pleasantly surprised that their menu now resembles more like a regular Chinese restaurant. The peashoots were my favorite. Salt and pepper prawns and chili chicken were all delicious.

Google
Ordered chicken and mussels soup, fried gluttonous balls, mapo tofu, shrimp fried rice, sha cha beef, wine marinated chicken, and spicy stir fried bamboo. Damn it was so all over the place. Place is known for the chicken soup, and that was quite good. Fried rice was the best. Everything else was very very salty. You need to tell them less salt. Come here for the soup and fried rice, and for nothing else. Also, pretty sure AI replaced all their waiters because it was packed and there were only 2 servers.

Google
The staff was helpful and friendly. I was given a table pretty quickly even though it was relatively busy. They had a special mid-autumn festival menu that looked pretty good, but we were a small group and wanted to try other options. The soup was delicious, it's one of their specialty, although a bit on the pricier side. We got the crispy chicken with special sauce bento box. It was really good, the chicken was very crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The proportions were also generous. The side was tomato and eggs which were prepared nicely. The atmosphere was loud and lively. Removing one star on the atmosphere for the unfortunate table placement. The table next to us was positioned in a way where we would be staring at each other directly when looking straight ahead. It's awkward.

Yelp
151 Days was recommended by our friend from Taiwan, recommended for its authenticity. We had dinner here and would definitely be back! The standout for us was definitely the cordyceps flower black chicken soup which felt nourishing, it was the highlight of our meal. We also ordered the stir-fried water spinach with beef, which was very authentic. The mapo tofu was soft, comforting, and to our surprise, just $1 with their dine-in promotion, it was such a great deal! Ordering was quick and easy via a tablet, and the food arrived fast. The seating is spacious and open, making it a comfortable place to dine. We also loved the cute decor touches, especially around the bar area.

Yelp
This restaurant is one of my parents' top places to get lunch or dinner whenever we eat out. The food is good value with large portions, and there's always a variety to choose from. The dishes have a nice, home-cooked flavor so I think it's like comfort food for my family. Personally, I'm more picky. There's dishes I feel are a hit or miss for me, and, unfortunately, the ones I end up enjoying the most aren't offered long. The first time we visited, we got the Taiwanese popcorn chicken (one of my favorite dishes!!). Though there was plenty of chicken and it looked great, I felt the chicken tasted somewhat dry, or lean. I was pretty disappointed, and we didn't order that dish again for our next several visits. Though the popcorn chicken was not my standard, any rice, cabbage, and noodle dishes in the menu were always delicious. I was particularly impressed by the salty egg oyster mushroom dish, which almost reminded me of fried pork belly! Unfortunately, the next time we ordered that dish, the quality and taste seemed slightly different, and then the following visit later, the dish was no longer available. I was also impressed by the salty egg bitter melon, which had very little bitterness and was very flavorful (I guess I really lean towards all the egg-salted foods haha). I never liked bitter melon, but this dish changed my impressions drastically, so I really wanted to eat it again the next time we visited. Yesterday, we came with friends and ordered a variety of dishes (including the popcorn chicken) for everyone to try. Unfortunately, the bitter melon was sold out, which was very disappointing for me. Everything else we've ordered was good, though my opinion of the popcorn chicken hasn't changed since our first visit. The service is always great, so there's not much to say about that. Overall, I'm not happy about the inconsistency of quality and availability of certain dishes. I checked again today to see if the bitter melon dish is available, and it still remains sold out. Maybe the things I like aren't very popular so they are gradually fazed out. Or, the ingredients are generally limited or expensive to procure. However, the food is fine and I'll most likely be back again with my family for another visit. I just hope I can find something I really like that can stick around longer than the other two dishes.

Yelp
The restaurant has a clean and open concept, and it wasn't too busy or loud when we went. The service is efficient and professional, although not especially hospitable (which doesn't bother me personally, but I know that matters to some people). Unfortunately the food itself was just mediocre. The braised beef pot and mapo tofu were not very good, in my opinion. The beef pot was basically a pot of mostly tendon, which isn't my personal favorite. The mapo tofu was only $1 because of a special promo they have right now, but I wouldn't get it again. It lacked depth in flavor, although it might be a good introduction to the dish for someone who's never tried it before (since it's only $1). I quite enjoyed the pork stir fry and cabbage stir fry. These are pretty simple dishes to make, though, so I would expect a restaurant to execute such dishes well. We had a disappointing experience since this restaurant has such a decent rating. Maybe it was an off day or something, but I will not likely return.

Yelp
Came here at night for dinner as a group of 3 - the food was mostly very good - we got the lions head meatball, sautéed pea vines, and one of the chicken soup. There was also a deal where mapo tofu was just $1 with any purchase, so we also got one of them. I think everything except the soup was great, which is a bit ironic given their specialty and the high price. The soup wasn't bad, but just felt like a standard chicken broth. I know black silkie chickens are pretty expensive by default so the price isn't unjustifiable, but I found the meat only okay and there wasn't that much other stuff in it. The meatballs and mapo tofu were really tasty though, and the $1 deal made it very worth it - I would come back for the various non soup dishes.

Yelp
Restaurant was nicely decorated, and when we first got there was completely empty. But it was still early on a Thursday night and as we sat down, several other parties came in. What I noticed was that everyone there was authentic Chinese. My husband and son were the only non-Chinese in the whole place which means authentic Chinese folks love this place. The food was very good. My son loved the popcorn chicken, the pepper beef was nice and tender and had great flavor. The pea vines were delicious and the fried rice was tasty. Next time I come, I will need to try some of the soup. It looks delicious, but we didn't want to over order.

Yelp
Known for their signature chicken soup, 151 Days represents how the Bresse chickens used at this restaurant are raised to the prime age of 150 days, and therefore served on the 151st day. Five of us made a reservation for 11:30A on a Saturday. There were already a few tables occupied and by around 12:15P, the entire restaurant was full. We placed our order and asked that the soup be served first so we could taste it independently without any other dishes as a distraction. It takes at least 15 minutes to prepare the soup, so just be ready for a little wait if you make the same request. + CLAM & GARLIC CHICKEN SOUP ($42.95): Being one of their signature soups, of course I was the most excited for this dish, but ended up being the most let down by it. The chicken pieces were mostly bone and skin with the meat being flavorless (from being completely boiled out) and pretty dry. I honestly couldn't tell it was the Bresse chicken at all... it didn't taste like anything special. Also, they threw in a bunch of whole garlic cloves, but they had also lost all their flavor, making them unpleasant to eat. All this said, my favorite ingredient in the soup was the clams. Also, the broth itself was clean, clear and comforting to sip since it was so light. However, for $42, this was far from worth it. + PEA SHOOTS w/ GARLIC ($17.95): Loved these! The pea shoots were tender and fresh, covered in a potent garlic oil. I could eat a whole plate of these, and the pieces of mushrooms were great additions. + STEAMED COD w/ SOY SAUCE ($21.95): The steamed fish itself was delicate, topped with slices of green onion and ginger and in a pool of soy sauce. Unfortunately there were SO MANY small bones in the fish which made it difficult to enjoy since I had to be so cautious with every bite. + TAIWANESE FRIED NOODLES ($14.95): This was a solid noodle dish with cabbage, onion, carrot and the most tender beef. It was a little oily, but the noodles were cooked perfectly and had great flavor from the wok. + SICHUAN SPICY CRISPY CHICKEN ($14.95): Fried pieces of chicken came in a slightly sweet soy sauce, topped with peppers and green onion. The exterior of the chicken was lightly fried and the pieces were fairly lean. The tantalizing spice was addicting and I couldn't stop eating it. + SALTED EGG SHRIMP BALLS ($18.95): These were actually whole shrimp, coated in a fried batter that consisted of salted duck egg, with more of it sprinkled on top. The shrimp were plump and had the perfect snap, while the duck egg gave it a rich flavor. This isn't a dish that you find often, so I recommend it! The service was fine at the beginning, but after we received all our food, we were not checked on again until we were ready for the bill. Additionally, they don't offer hot tea, which is essentially unheard of at Chinese restaurants. While I enjoyed four out of the six dishes, a large consideration comes down to their signature soup which unfortunately was a large miss. 3.25 stars.

Yelp
Amazing food and great price for the portion. Style is home-cooking Taiwanese stir fries. I loved the pork and bamboo shoots stir fry and the leeks and pork one. The pork bun was surprisingly good too Seating was comfortable, clean, and pleasant. Kind and attentive service I highly recommend it!

Yelp
Wow, this place has seriously good Chinese food in a dark wood decor. It was near the hotel, which is the main reason I choose to eat here. On a weekday early lunch, there was only one other party of two. I was greeted immediately upon entering and seated. They have lunch box options that are similar to bento, where you get a protein, side veggies, rice for a reasonable price - about $20. I also ordered a plum drink which was delicious and surprisingly smokey. Food came out quick and was so dang good. I'm from Hawaii where there's local Chinese food and an emergence of more authentic Chinese food. This tasted authentic to me, better than what I've had in Hawaii. I wanted to come back here for lunch but my work trip ended before I could. I will be back next time tho!

Yelp
It was so lovely to be able to experience 151 days in Redmond. The chicken broth which is ample and refillable was a treat. It was a little herbally but felt clean as you drink this soup. The restaurant itself is clean and the staff friendly. Beef noodle soup super good with the anise 5 star spices and tender meats with noodles perfectly cooked. The thousand year old egg with tofu and sprouts unique and a blend of modern and classic tastes..this was my favorite. The fermented tofu was unique and definitely an acquired taste. Popcorn chicken fun and great for kids! We ordered so much more but those were our standout dishes. Definitely a must return here to eat place!

Yelp
151 Days serves family style Taiwanese dishes, as well as bento boxes that are perfect if you prefer not to share food! The crispy chicken bento was amazing. It came with very well seasoned sides, and the crispy chicken (lightly fried) went perfectly with the rest of the dishes. Usually, I don't eat much of the sides in a bento box, but the curry, cabbage, and cucumber salad were amazing pairings that I devoured. The chicken also had a spicier kick than I expected, which I didn't mind but may be helpful to know if you have a lower tolerance. Went in at 12pm on a Saturday and there was plenty of seating, which got filled by 12:45pm. The overall ambience was great and relaxing. Waiters were attentive and helpful in decision making!

Yelp
151 days is serving up authentic Taiwanese dishes with big portions! I took advantage of the $1 Mapo Tofu deal when ordering other dishes. The boneless Saltwater Duck is tender, juicy and meaty. The Taiwanese Fried Rice with Shrimp is full of wok hay and lots of shrimps. The servers are attentive and courteous. I love the space which is bright and with Taiwan-inspired decor. Would definitely come back for more!

Yelp
We kind of had very little service throughout the whole dining process. We waited a while before we finally caught someone's attention to take our order. Same thing when we wanted the check. I think they either were really busy or just don't have enough employees. Either way it kind of took away from the dining experience. The food was decent though! We got the scallion oil chicken, pea sprouts, and squid. While the three cup squid had good flavor, it was really dry. I probably would not order it again. 5/10 The chicken was really good though! I liked that they put a lot of scallion on top and there were different cuts of chicken. 8/10 The pea sprouts were cooked pretty perfectly. A classic Chinese dish. 9/10 Overall for food, it was good! The portions were a little small but it was filling regardless. MVP of this meal was probably the pea sprouts.

Yelp
We've been to 151 days many times, and will definitely continue going there. I believe the owner also owns the Looking for Chai in Edmonds. They provide some of the same dishes, but in 151 days, there are more choices, and the dishes are also cooked better. Our favorite dish is their meat balls in broth, a dish called "lion head" in Chinese. This dish is common in Taiwan and China, but it's a bit hard to find in the Seattle area. 151 days does a good job with it, therefore we are regulars. Other dishes are also very good, such as bamboo and pork stir fired, chive with black beans, and etc. When it first opened, this place was always very busy, but recently I noticed getting a seat is much easier, sometimes no wait on the weekends. I recommend this restaurant!
google avatar

Yelp
想懷念台灣臭豆腐的味道必來這裡試試看! If you are craving authentic Taiwanese stir fry type food, this place is a must try on the east side! Stinky tofu was crispy and fragrant, lions head soup was well portioned and very tender, three cup chicken was flavorful with lots of basil. Interior was pleasant, service was decent - overall I can't say much more! I was very pleasantly surprised. It will definitely hit the spot if you're feeling nostalgic.

Yelp
- Decent but I prefer "looking for chai"- We came here around 11:30 am and the waitress sat us down right away. The menu is completely different since a while ago and it's like another "looking for chai". They have tons of Taiwanese dishes, with some big pots of chicken soup on top. I ordered the scallion chicken bento and my husband ordered the beef noodle soup. He likes it as much as monga's beef noodle soup, but he said it's different. I like Monga's better, at least I think the soup there is more authentic. The bento is good with the usual sides of stir-fried cabbage and Stir-fried tomato and scrambled eggs. The little portion of bamboo shoots were good as well. The scallion chicken is a bit too oily for me, but the seasoning is on point. There is some minced pork on the rice, but I like the one from looking for chai better. They get quite busy around noon, and it seems more popular after the ownership change. They did refill my water once, but that was it. The lowest tip amount is 18% here on the machine. I prefer looking for chai overall for more bubble tea selection and a better service.

Yelp
I think this might be my new favorite Taiwanese spot. They have a huge selection of authentic Taiwanese dishes and you can tell everything is super fresh. I also love how they have seasonal items which you have to check out. The waitress was super sweet and they even offered to move us to a table where the sun wasn't as bright. It's pretty spacious and lots of seats but it did seem to get a bit busy around 7pm We tried: dong po rou w gua bao (pork belly buns): literally melts in your mouth and the bao was very fluffy! such a good pairing salty duck w bean sprouts: im usually not a huge fan of duck but i really loved this. super tender and no gamey taste at all salt n pepper crispy cod: loved the crispiness, but also so juicy -- beware of the bones though crispy prawns w salty egg yolk: again very crispy and the salty egg yolk gave it nice flavor pea vines: one of my favorite chinese veggies but honestly was sauteed very well taiwanese sausage: you can never go wrong with taiwanese sausage,, wish they cut them in slices instead of chunks though-- so its easier to eat with the garlic
google avatar

Aindra T.

Yelp
All of the dishes we got were delicious but the salted egg yolk prawns and the special crispy chicken are a must try! I'm also not sure if this is the norm, but they kept refilling our clam soup with more broth as well. It was a nice surprise.

Yelp
151 Days has been an interesting place on my list to check out on Eastside, and I'm glad I was able to stop by and see what was up! I've been to 151 days twice during the time of this review, and was able to try a good variety of dishes on my visit. It is fortunate that there are so many Chinese restaurants in Seattle, and 151 Days would be an alright pick if you are looking to fulfill that craving. The parking situation for this restaurant is interesting, I don't think there is dedicated parking on my first visit, but based on the other reviews, there is a retail lot you can park your car in. Otherwise, you will need to try and find street side parking or parking at other vendors, and then walk on over. Service is fast - luckily on both visits to 151 Days, I was able to get seated immediately for parties of 2-3 on weekday nights. This restaurant does get busy, but there seems to enough seating to accommodate high traffic of customers. The ambiance is definitely sit down, though there are also are take out orders - definitely sticks to the Chinese decoration and theme nicely! I'll review a couple of dishes that I thought were notable: Crispy Simmered Brisket ($21.95): On the lunar new year menu, the waitress recommended this dish as the popular option. I would say I loved it! The brisket is tender and the breading is thin, crispy, and not oily. The sauce sort of reminded me of worcestershire sauce but thicker and with a hint of plum sweetness. I would say one of the more solid options here. Taiwanese Meatball with Nappa ($26.34): I love lion's head meatballs and this dish was alright. Though the flavor was good and the meatball itself tender and moist - this was not large enough at all given the price point. I've had this style of meatball at a couple of other establishments that were 2x the size for the same price. But I understand that I am someone with a big appetite, so if you are looking for a comforting dish to supplement your ordering, I would do it! Crispy Prawns with Salted Egg Yolk ($22.74): The prawns were crispy and though the salted egg yolk flavor was subtle, you could definitely tell that it was there. This is one of those dishes that I would say tastes great on it's on, but doesn't really go with rice as it's flavor would get muted even more with the rice. There is a decent amount of prawns in the order which is nice. I would say that in terms of flavor, 151 Days gets it right most of the time, but I personally would have preferred larger quantities in respect to the price point for each of the dishes. You'll probably pay $20 - $35 per person to get a decent number of dishes, but they may or may not fill you up. I think I've had a decent tasting of the offerings of 151 Days, but I don't think I would regularly revisit unless I'm craving something specific.

Yelp
Honestly, a little disappointed. I had high hopes based on many recs but I didn't think it was anything extraordinary. The chicken soup was actually quite bland and honestly, I could make this at home myself with Chinese herbs and a silk chicken in my instant pot and it would taste better. We ordered chow mein, clams, 3 cup chicken, popcorn chicken, the pork belly bao, and stir fried cabbage. I feel like I could just make all these dishes at home. It wasn't anything that special. Even the Lu Rou fan was just okay. To top things off their menu has changed significantly from last year. When I looked on Google to find the menus, it didn't match the ones at the restaurant. Also the photos from Yelp and Google are really weird. They're a bunch of misleading pics like chicken soups that have nice presentation and look appetizing but when I show the waiter that's what I want, they said this isn't from our restaurant. Strange. So don't trust the photos you see on Google or Yelp. Anyway, a little underwhelming. I still prefer Looking for Chai. Maybe we'll give this a second chance one day but as of now I probably won't be coming back any time soon...

Yelp
I ordered dishes from this restaurant via Uber Eats and I also came to eat here. This is now one of my favorite restaurants in this area! The restaurant name is somewhat misleading. I thought they only sold chicken soup or any kinds of chicken soup. In fact, it's a Taiwanese restaurants where you can eat most Taiwanese dishes including the street food. They even have stinky tofu! All the dishes are authentic! They taste like exactly what I have had in Taiwan. They all taste so good!! Most important of all, they use good and fresh ingredients that you can tell when you eat. The service at the restaurant was great. The staff was very friendly. When I treated my old friend at this restaurant, we asked the girl who served our table to help us take a photo. She paid attention to our surroundings to make some adjustments and gave us a good shot. She also packed our to-go order with care. When she learned that my friend and I hadn't met more almost 40 years, she didn't rush us to leave even though the restaurant was closing. The interior of the restaurant was gorgeous. When I first came here, I thought it would be super expensive and was worried. But in fact, the price was reasonable. I came here twice, once during the lunch time on a weekday and the other time was during the dinner time on a weeknight. Not too many people at the restaurant during the lunch time, but it was all packed during the dinner time. Next time I probably would try to make a reservation if I want to go there in the evening. I would definitely come again to try more dishes here.

Yelp
My partner got a reservation for 6pm on the day after Thanksgiving in 2022. When we arrived, it looked to be about 1/3 full - it seems this place is a hidden gem! Parking is in the "retail" lot, attached to the building. 90 minutes, daily. It's the same entrance that residents use, but there's a separate "gated" area for the residents to go into. Bathrooms are jointly shared with Shaburina next door. Tip calculations were based off of the subtotal, which is nice to see. For 7 people, it came out to $275 after tax and tip. Not bad! 2nd time here - same number of people, but an alternate roster. $165 before tip (after tax) - $190 after both tax and tip We've been back a few times since - mostly for the dinner bento ($14.50 for a LOT of food). Those experiences have been a lot better, but the parking situation is worse - for whatever dumb reason, "Smile studio" has single-handedly "claimed" 7 of the retail spots for 24/7 use - even though their hours aren't 24/7? Whatever. This place is solid. I'm here now at 530pm on a Saturday - and you know it's good when you don't hear anyone speaking English at all here (the restaurant is almost full - maybe 1-2 tables empty). Ambience-wise, it's quiet Chinese music playlist in the background.

Yelp
The first time I came here, I tried their popular Coconut Bresse Chicken Pot, with other meat and veggies to add to it. It was tasty and comforting. I came again with my bf, and we tried the Honey Walnut Shrimp, Sweet & Sour Braised Pork Ribs, Beef Chow Mein, Braised Sprouted Rice w/ Fried Shrimp, and Bresse Broth Pot Sticker. Everything was good. Service was friendly, and they were pretty busy the couple of times I went. Looks like they've added a lot more to their menu since I've last went, so want to go back and try more.

Yelp
My friend wanted the chicken soup from here. But when we arrived, we found out it's under new management. The menu looked different from before according to my friend. My favorite thing was the Bento, which came with fried chicken 椒麻鸡, tomato egg 番茄炒蛋, cabbage 炒包菜, and stewed pork with rice 卤肉饭. It was delicious and a great value. We also got sweet & sour pork 锅包肉,kurobota pork with bamboo shoot 黑猪肉炒笋丝 and stinky tofu 臭豆腐. These dishes all taste fine but nothing stood out, also on the pricey side. Service is great. The waiter was nice about giving recommendations, and came back to check on us a few times during the meal. Overall, I'll definitely get a bento when I come back.

Yelp
It was not super busy on a late Sunday afternoon so we were seated right away. The service was friendly and really proactive in refilling our drinks. The crispy chicken was pretty good and did have a nice crisp to it, but I was a little disappointed with the spicy sauce because it didn't really feel spicy at all. I enjoyed the saltiness of the string beans personally, but my party wasn't a super big fan. It was also a little more soggy than we would have preferred but not bad. The Hakka stir fry was my favorite. It had a nice mix of ingredients and it was not overwhelming. I am definitely interested in trying the other stir fries in the future!

Yelp
Service was good but this restaurant has change their menu and food point of view from when the restaurant first opened. It was a little misleading because it kept the same name. The dishes I like the most was the cold chicken appi dish and the beef noodle soup. The lamb dish we got was way too salty and the meat was not tender (I.e. too rough and chewy). Overall pricey dishes that were not mind blowing. They have bento box option which seems like a great deal for the value and most of the tables dinning had an order of bento box so maybe we should have tried that. I'm not sure if I will be returning to this restaurant from my experience.

Yelp
The flavor is too less. They should add more salt to generally every of their dish except salty egg york shrimp. The popcorn chicken need a lot of attention since this has a huge difference to the one in Taiwan. I've been to Taiwan before so please make it better. The oil temperature is too low and you fried it too dry. The fried rice need more salt. The Sakura shrimp fried rice is not my favorite since I am a meatlover. The service is OK here. It's not quite responsive but still here. They do offer a 10% discount due to my improvement advice to them. Atmosphere is good. It's not too noisy. You do need to find a parking space but I rode a motorcycle on that day so I just parked outside their door.

Yelp
Clean and modern restaurant specializing in chicken. The restaurant name, 151 Days, references the amount of time it takes to hand-raise their chicken to natural maturity. Generally speaking, the ingredients seemed high quality, but overall lacked seasoning. As I tend to gravitate to food with big pops of flavor, this didn't resonate with me. Mushroom Chicken Broth w/ Sprouted Rice: had exactly 1 tiny sliver of chicken. Broth had depth, but needed more seasoning. Creamy Mushroom Chicken w/ Rice: nice, creamy flavor, but rice was hard and dish needed salt Tagine Beef Rice: large portion, but under-seasoned Millet Rice Cake - best part of the meal: millet cake + sticky rice dipped in rose honey Service was friendly, but too quick. I know that sounds funny, but they brought out dessert a few minutes after the entrees and then the check a few minutes after that. While efficiency is generally a good thing, the timing here made us feel rushed.

Yelp
We ordered from this place on DoorDash. Instead of getting 3 dishes we ordered, one item was missing. This is unacceptable and terrible service to the customer. We will never order from here again

Yelp
I was so enticed by the high ratings to come here but was very disappointing. They offered me a free dessert if I gave them a review on Yelp or Google but it HAD to be a 5 star review. The food wasn't bad, I would highly recommend the chicken noodle soup. Everything else was just alright and the hotpot dish was so different from the picture and I would skip it, barely anything inside. Overall I didn't like how they bribe customers into giving high ratings when their food could be improved.

Yelp
I thought this was place specialized in chicken but seems like they have a bunch of taiwanese dishes of all sorts too. We came here for a chicken soup on a cold day and was told a pot of it could probably fed the 3 of us but we added 2 other dishes on top of it too - the salted egg yolk oyster mushroom and a fried rice. The fried rice was SO good. The wok hei really adds a depth to the flavor. And the mushroom was good too but I think I liked the one from looking for chai better. The chicken soup was great in that they kept coming by to ask if we wanted the broth refilled and they also let you self-season with salt so you can adjust to your own personal liking. Definitely enough for 3 people.

Yelp
Disclaimer: I'm biased because I'm a Taiwanese expat, but this was a wonderful trip down memory lane that reminded me of classic dishes back home in Taichung. Had a bento, the lions head meatballs with cabbage, and some veggies, and every dish just had a lot of heart to it. It might not be the most technical of meals, but the ingredients were clearly good and the service was considerate and endearing (our server took our baby daughter on a little trip of the restaurant... it was 2pm or something so it was slow, but it gave her a lovely memory and we appreciate it for that too. As a random aside: it's always really encouraging to visit ethnic restaurants of any sort and find a ton of people of that ethnicity eating there, and the service staff speaking in the native language. So this def passes the authenticity test as well. :)

Yelp
I had a chance to sample the famous 150 days Bresse chicken via a Yelp event. We bought additional food more than the discounted meal, so I decided it is worth a separate write-up. I can see why loyal customers love this place, and why some customers poo-poo this place. The chicken is prepped old-school style bone-in and skin-on. If you like your chicken deboned and skinned and purchased in vacuum sealed bags, stop reading, this place is not for you. For those that like a chicken as a whole chicken, the flavor is amazing. I'm not going to lie; the customers were almost all Asian. Don't worry, the staff speaks English. :) We arrived on a Sunday at 7:30. (They close at 9.) The diners were thinning out by then. Service was swift and cordial. Our extra dishes arrived first and then the Bresse meal arrived. I'm glad we were at a 4-person table cuz we used every inch of the table. The Food: Included in the Bresse Meal, $45 - 4 Stars 1. Soy Sauce Bresse Half of a whole Chicken This is NOT the Cantonese style of soy sauce chicken (not to disappoint anyone). The photo image already shows that. :) The basic steam/poach method preserves the tenderness of the chicken very well. This is a very classic preparation. The soy sauce option is simple yet flavorful. 2. Bresse Chicken Broth, Garlic Mushroom option This is a simple clear both that tastes fantastic. There are some jujubes, or red dates, in the broth as well as goji berries, plus the mushrooms and garlic. Some bone pieces are included in the soup. This is how the Chinese makes a great soup. The bones are part of the process and stays with the soup. Delicious! The soup stayed warm throughout our meal thanks to the burner. 3. Flat Bread with an Eggplant side The flat bread itself is less like a flatbread, more like a low height biscuit. It was too doughy for my taste. I was looking forward to something like a roti. The eggplant side is however fantastic - savory goodness and incredibly well seasoned. 4. Veggies plate Well, sort of included. The menu page said it is included, but they said it is not, but could bring me some. (I am guessing the menu is outdated.) I got a bowl of arugula and a bowl of bean sprouts with a bit of finely chop beets on top. I added these to the soup. Works for me! Bresse Broth Potstickers (5), $10.95 - 4 Stars In case you don't know what does bresse broth have to do with pot stickers that are filled with pork and shrimp, chicken broth plus corn starch is what makes the flaky, crusty bits. These well stuffed potstickers are very delicious. Even the soy dipping sauce is good. Dry Noodles with Spicy Shrimp, $12.75 - 5 Stars I am one of the weirdos that like my noodles with lots and lots of veggies, so it wouldn't feel starchy and heavy. This - This is it! In the photo, you'll see lots of arugula and shredded beets mixed in with the noodles. The three prawns are jumbo sized. This is a delicious plate of noodles.

Yelp
This is a hidden gem of Taiwanese food. Their menu has a decent variety that's good for a big meal or something simple. We ordered 2 bentos and a large soup to share. Their Taiwanese pork chop was really good and the portion was big too. The soup you can tell they put time on making it. It came with no salt and you can add it by your preference. They also refill the broth for free. I would definitely come back to try other things on the menu

Yelp
151 Days : A-M-A-Z-I-N-G ! it's my favorite restaurant in Washington! This is it! It's food that is made from the soul. A supersized local mom & pop restaurant. And really one of a kind. Am I raving? I don't think I can rave enough about this place, I would not be surprised to see them get listed on the Michelin guide in the future. We tried out 2 dishes and 1 drink HALF BRESSE CHICKEN w/ coconut base (MUST ORDER) WOW! YES! NEED! This dish was excellent, the chicken was so so juicy and succulent, the dish really makes your mouth water and want to keep eating more. It was really well balanced by the coconut chicken soup which used whole chunks of coconut meat, amazing combo. TAGINE BEEF POT NOODLE (Solid!) Solid dish, I don't think you can have any complaints here. The beef is cooked just right and the noodles are amazing. SEABERRY JUICE (YES!) Never had this before until this restaurant, but apparently it's more commonly known in Europe/Asia and has many beneficial health properties. They make this fresh! Worth a try! I like it quite a bit. COMPLIMENTARY EGGPLANT / BUN They also gave us a complimentary eggplant&buns dish that was something I could eat daily... This was perhaps my favorite dish just because of how unexpected and unexpectedly good it was. It may be on the menu in the future. The owner told me the chef cooks this sometimes when their friends are over. BACK STORY I was pretty blown away by my whole dining experience and ended up getting to know one of the owners during my visit. They (husband/wife pair) run a series of restaurants in China and when they came to the US, they wanted to do something unique in this area. To bring a more unique taste of their homeland (Shandong province) over to the Seattle region. Their edge is not just the way they book their dishes but it's down to the ingredients & farm. It's right there in the name, the owner/chef here uses a special breed of chickens that takes 151 days to raise from egg to maturity. While a lot of boiler chicken in the US are used for their meat around 6-7 weeks (42 - 50 days). They told me they originally could not find the chicken they needed to make the dish here, so they opened a farm to raise the chickens, and eventually found an Amish farm that raises more a traditional chicken breed and with the care they needed for their dish. Essentially, they are using the best chicken possible to make the best version of their dish. The result is a dish that is prepared artfully, not many restaurants are willing to do this type of labor and I haven't seen one in the US do anything remotely close to this restaurant. The food is delicious, healthy, and in my opinion, prepared with soul. I'll admit, I didn't know what to order when I went there, it was hard to choose which dishes I should order, how much food, and it did feel pricey when I was thinking it's just chicken. But man it was worth every penny. SERVICE This place is really a family run business and you can feel it from the workers. This place has a unison to it that you don't commonly find. LAST THOUGHTS The food is honestly amazing and one of a kind, the restaurant is clean, well decorated, the staff is amazing, I felt good eating their food, knowing it is in nutritious, delicious, and made with soul. It also felt great supporting a mom&pop type of restaurant. My recommendation to the restaurant is to simplify the ordering process in the menu. Since the type of restaurant was so new to me, I wasn't sure how to order at first and really relied on looking at lot of reviews. But their food and service cannot be beat! And that's what really matters. The experience is one of a kind! Just want to spread the word. TL:DR HIGHLY RECOMMENDED 10/ 5 stars! Order the chicken dish. We will be back every time we visit Seattle area.

Yelp
What better way to warm up on a crisp, cold fall day than with a bowl of warm chicken soup? Don't let the simplicity of the name fool you. The noodle textures are on point as well as the flavorful broth. Came here on a perfect fall day for a perfect fall date. Their potstickers are also amazing~. The interior is spacious and the staff are kind! They do take a while to wait on you so if you are in a hurry I wouldn't recommend it. There were a couple times too that they didn't have items on the menu, which was somewhat disappointing. However, overall I enjoyed the food, ambience, and experience!

Yelp
Gotta love people who are passionate about the food they make. They seem to have taken on a sacred responsibility to introduce us to the best chicken in the world. They have convinced an Amish community to grow a special breed of chicken free range. After 150 days, they are prepared for consumption, hence the name of the restaurant, 151 Days. They have a beautiful website with a wonderful story, photos, and menu. It's too bad that their actual menu is very different. We were met with the Autumn Menu. It didn't have any of the things we were prepared to order, but they had lots of good stuff. The Crispy Chicken with Spicy Sauce was very good, very crisp and very spicy, very delicious. The Kurobuta Fried Rice was also very good. We've never had cabbage in fried rice but it was a great textural addition. It was subtilely seasoned and delicious, but if you want to add a little of the coarse salt on the table, it goes well. Their prices are very fair, and the portions are large. Go with a group and share lots of plates.

Yelp
Came here after a hike for some homemade Taiwanese food and was not let down! The service was accomdating and served us even close to their closing time which we appreciated. The food was absolutely delicious and our favorite were the pork baos! Will definitely be back!

Yelp
I won a free dish on Instagram for this restaurant so I was really excited about eating here. I brought my friend and we both ordered the honey walnut shrimp, for some reason she had zero walnuts and I had a ton. Then I ordered the Sichuan peppercorn bresse half chicken meal and that cones with flat bread and a 2 choices of broth coconut or garlic mushroom. I'm was expecting a hot meal but I was surprised the chicken is basically served room temp. I was dipping my chicken in the hot broth to warm it up, and it wasn't just the chicken it was also the flatbread. The flatbread texture was good and the eggplant/onion that came with was flavorful, service was also pretty quick and friendly. My server recommended the chicken soup for next time and I saw a few ppl order and eat that so maybe next time I'll go with their recommended dish.

Yelp
First off, terrific service. Every waitress we interacted with was personable and knowledgable and went above and beyond to make you feel comfortable and cared for. Second, the food is superb. We got the japanese yam and bamboo fungus chicken soup ($43 ultimate comfort food, they refill the broth), spicy duck blood with mustard greens ($19 spicy! and flavorful), japchae-tasting vermicelli noodles ($14 mild flavor but perfectly cooked noodles) and salted egg covered king oyster mushrooms ($17 crunchy outside and soft inside). Highly recommend them all!

Yelp
Easy location to get to, and has a small garage for retail parking with a north and south entrance. I thought the food was decent, maybe just a tad under 4 star quality. The staff were friendly, but not too great at the service part of the job? They were all polite, but didn't make me feel welcome if that makes sense. The food came out quick. On top of the regular Bresse Chicken Meal, we ordered the creamy mushroom soup and millet doughnut and it was just the right amount of food for the two of us. - The flat bread with the sauce was a great appetizer, and had good flavor to it. - Pickled radish side dish was great too! A little bit on the sweeter side but very yum. Just a tiny plate though. - We got the chilli oil chicken, and it was okay, I would have liked it if it was a bit more tender. There were a few pieces around the bones that were very chewy or dry, but overally it was fine. - The garlic mushroom broth was simple, but had good taste to it and since it's on like a mini hot pot, was really enjoyable. They did forget to give us the ladle for the soup, but a quick reminder and they were able to bring it right out. - The millet doughnuts were good, not too sweet and not too sticky. A little bit on the expensive side I felt like? I think it was like $3 for each? - The creamy mushroom soup was good too. We just wanted something filling on the side. - They did brought out complimentary mongolian milk tea to everyone in the restaurant. It wasn't too sweet. I probably would have preferred it to be less milk and more tea? But maybe that's how mongolian milk teas are. The person I went with said the mongolian milk tea they had when they were younger were actually salty and not sweet, so this wasn't quite their 'cup of tea' - Another thing was the water tasted off. Not sure what's up with that.

Yelp
Pretty solid taiwanese bento at a great price. I really like their wide bento selection and the food is decent, however they give too little rice in the bento imo. I usually finish their bento feeling only half-full, (compared to the bento at monga which always fills me up). I wish they fill the bigger spot of the bento box with more rice.

Yelp
Yummy! What a great new addition to this Eastside area! Parking was easy in the garage and after making a reservation a couple of days in advance I got my confirmation text. This is the perfect place to share a meal on a cold day. Everything is brought out within minutes of ordering and you get to determine how long things cook for. I loved the presentation of the food and everything was fresh. I was especially impressed with the red berry juice. The menu doesn't say a lot about it but it was delectable. The corn congee/egg appetizer was probably the table favorite dish. I could have that every day and not get sick of it! We probably ate twice as much as we needed to but it was so good! It was definitely full of protein and kept me satiated the rest of the day. Looking forward to returning the next time I'm very hungry for brunch/lunch.

Yelp
I always walked by here and always thought they just had soup but instead they had so many options! We got the popcorn chicken, mapo tofu, a fish dish which were all so good! At the end they had complimentary ice cream which we got black sesame and matcha! The place was huge and clean. Servers were friendly and attentive. I will definitely be coming back!

Yelp
In February I attended an event, and decided that we should return. The three-course-meal of soup pot is $79, which approximately comes out to $40 per person (tax and tips not included), which is a very nice deal. There will be plenty of food for two. For the soup pot, you MUST try the broth before adding anything to it. It's so delicious. It becomes more complex as you add meat, vegetables and fish. When we were finished, I took a few more spoonfuls of the broth. It was so good that we ended up drinking the broth when it was over. Staff were really polite. Each course/item came out promptly. I don't even think we waited 10 minutes before we started receiving food. I liked that they cleaned our table between the soup pot and dessert. The dessert was really good too! Chocolate fondue with fruit, and the best part being the Chinese donut which was like a fried red bean bun. It was definitely enough food for two people and I would highly encourage you to to check it out!!

Yelp
I enjoyed the rich broth chicken soup. The menu has some great backstory about the special species of chicken they use. If you're not into reading, I'll spoil it for you--it is quite tasty! For the downsides... The "potstickers" were not crispy. Which misses the entire point of potstickers... Also, the service was not amazing. My party was asked to wait awkwardly in the middle of the restaurant for about 5 minutes while the one and only hostess/waiter packed up to-go orders and collected checks from other tables. The dining room was wide open empty. In the end, the price was just too high. Either the rent in the brand-new building is steep, or they are just fishing for nearby tech employees. I've definitely had better for far less.

Yelp
151 days is an experience, not just a dinner, so don't let the bill scare you too much. We really enjoyed our visit to 151 days. We weren't super familiar with hot pot, and this served as a great introduction for us. We got the chicken soup pot, and enjoyed each of our courses. The only thing I would note: the best part of the meal is the soup after everything's been cooked. It's amazing, so don't forget about it.

Yelp
I am a Taiwnese immigrant. 151 days offer authentic Taiwanese food at reasonable price.

Yelp
Before attending the Yelp Elite Cirque du Soleil event on 1/19/22, The College Friend and I tried 151 Days for the first time. It had the advantage of being relatively close to our later destination at Marymoor Park without dealing with much traffic. I was lucky to find street parking around the corner and we arrived just as they opened for dinner service at 1700/5pm. They do check for C19 vaccination status upon entry, then we were seated and provided their well laid out menu to peruse. The menu provided some background why the restaurant is called 151 Days. Fun fact: this is the amount of time the Bresse chickens from Arlington are farm raised for optimal flavor. Service was fairly friendly, efficient, and unobtrusive. Definitely the tables in the fairly vast dining room quickly filled up within the hour we were onsite. The College Friend had the Chicken Soup with radish and dried crab sides ($11.50), Chinese doughnuts ($3.75), and hot tea. I opted for Wonton Soup ($10.50). The one thing I noticed is how large the bowls are. The Wontons were plentiful and plump with tasty filling. Some other places are a bit skimpy with content, here it was rather generous and filling. I would have preferred my soup broth to have been a bit more piping hot though. For me, definitely this hit the spot! If I'm ever back in this area where Redmond meets up adjacent to Bellevue, I'd like to explore more of their menu since they have both lunch and dinner service.
