4 stars because they have vegan options at all. Not 5 stars because they have 4 spots for vegan options, but over 3 visits they only had 4 options once and they had no vegan options one time. The toppings also have good vegan options and gluten free options. The new Oat chocolate cherry flavor is Amazing. But, the only handles that were not serving were the vegan ones. My wife’s favorite was the vegan birthday cake. Neither of us can do dairy for two different reasons. We always want to come here first though. I can say that the people are always great. Great service and help. We LOVE the ice cream when we get it. We are sad when vegan options are either not there or limited to fruit flavors.

A grand haven for out-of-this-world treats, delicious flavors of Fro-Yo. The best I have tasted in a long time, it's got the right ambience for family outing, friendly hangouts or even a lovers treat and its located in a strategic part of Brooklyn. One visit will be an utter injustice to my palate.

Delicious frozen yogurt! There’s even a dairy free option (sorbet always, they had plant based mint chocolate for a little bit too!) I’m so excited about the Oatly collaboration this summer BUT I’m always annoyed that those flavors always come out partially melted. I’ve gone 3 different times, and it’s always runny. Anyway! if you’re trying to be a little healthier, there is some great sorbet and tart yogurt, along with nuts and fresh cut fruit. If you’re an absolute monster like me and love toppings galore and chocolate on everything, there’s also plenty to choose from. They’ve also taken care to practice some food safety by having individual containers for some toppings and removing sample cups, AND social distancing between customers. Very nice job, 16 Handles team! I highly recommend if you want a frozen treat to come by here!

I wished there were more fruit options, and the texture of the frozen yogurt itself is a bit watery to my liking. I prefer Fruity Yummy.

I had a really great experience here. The biggest highlights to me were oat milk flavors, vegan options, and lots of healthy toppings. It was also a friend’s birthday and a large group of us all fit comfortably here eating froyo and hanging out. The coconut oat milk flavor was SO GOOD. There’s a ton of toppings to choose from too. Definitely a great place to catch up with friends and have a tasty treat.

This place is an absolute slay, You must try their watermelon sorbet, I think about them every day, Toppings, sprinkles, nuts, there’s a wide array!

Froyo is always amazing but I have had issues with the staff either closing up early or opening late. Like an hour or more for both

Great frozen yogurt with 16 soft serve flavors and any toppings you can possibly imagine. Almost everything is kosher! Only downside is the price is defined by the weight of the ice cream. My coffee soft serve small bowl with rainbow sprinkles wasn't exactly worth $7+tax, but it's a very nice kosher frozen yogurt bar. They have oat milk frozen yogurt, gluten free options and all the fruit, chocolate and candies you can possibly put on top. Very cute place.

I wanted to try 16 handles due to a stellar review from a friend. I got the small cup and got cookie dough, peanut butter, strawberry, Graham, and yogurt classic. The cookie dough tasted okay but honestly having the physical form of cookie dough in vanilla ice cream tastes better. The peanut butter didn't taste like peanut butter; more like chocolate. The yogurt tasted like Greek yogurt, which I was not that excited about but I just didn't know. The strawberry and graham cracker ice cream was good. I don't think the ice cream or frozen yogurt was that great. I wish it was more creamy or thick. It melted pretty quickly and it was very expensive too. I spent 12 and some change even though this was essentially the size of 2 or 3 at best scoops at a ice cream shop.

Not one of my favorite 16 handles locations. They have all the flavors but it is always a bit dirty. I feel like it's hard to keep these places clean! The yogurt is great though and staff are really kind! A bit overpriced but that's NYC

I'm don't understand why the store hours say it opens a 1 pm Monday to Thursday but I've been here on 3 separate occasions and each time it's past one and no one is at the store. In this instance someone is just setting the store up, I am standing here with a few other customers and we can't get in. A poor door dasher is at the door waiting on his order and we can't even get in. ‍

In a word: disgusting. The back of the store smelled like a literal septic tank of human shit. For a fro-yo shop, the store was hot and humid. It was cooler outside. There was a group of unsupervised teenagers fucking around making a mess and lingering which was annoying. Some of the toppings were low and hadn't been refilled. The outside benches were inside the store for no reason, forcing me to stand outside and eat since the inside felt like a sauna. The front of the store outside is riddled with garbage and graffiti. Only nice thing was the cashier. So I guess there's a bright side? This franchisee needs to clean up this place - stat.

I enjoyed my outstanding yogurt so much at your establishment. The support and employees were really amiable and dedicated to providing excellent service. The vibe was great, and I thought your style was really contemporary. Most importantly, every yogurt option was delicious.

We're really excited to try the new flavors they have. So far I haven't seen that every 16th day of the month they add a new flavor. This has got me coming back every month just to see what's new so far never disappointed one of my favorite places to get dessert. The staff always gives you samples so you can try all the new flavors which I love. It's definitely an experience and I just had to leave a review

completely messed up the delivery order and did not answer 5 phone calls to explain special requests. Wrong flavors and missing every topping. Every time I have ordered from here this has been my experience. its apparent that the workers couldnt care less about customer service or satisfaction. highly do not recommend

Delicious fro yo. That's the review. Lol ik but seriously. Delicious fro yo at practically every location. Wonderful staff. Extremely clean and follow COVID protocols. Can't think of anything else you'd want in a fro yo shop. Price goes by weight here, so be easy on the toppings unless money is not an object or you're like me and just can't fathom putting a price on yummy fro yo! Lol This fro yo is not like pink berry, it's on the sweeter side, so it definitely taste and feels more like dessert then a healthy snack, but life is short! Enjoy it to the fullest! Overall, I'd highly recommend this and almost any 16 handles location in NYC!

I have been coming here for years and it has gotten dirty and dirty. Selections have also been scarce. You advertise on your window that you have Vegan selections and two out of there had anything coming out and the Caramel Apple was soft and not so frozen. The two that were empty the server said they were out of. The Strawberry choice was empty as well. I don't know how you can stay open and expect consumers to visit this site. As for what i ordered of the Caramel Apple that cost me about $3 for a third of the cup. This is a shame for a place I once enjoyed coming too.

I order delivery from the Williamsburg 16 handles like 3 times a week cause I lack self control and I'm fine with it. This stuff is amazing (like floating on a cloud). Also, they always get the delivery right even when I ask for snickers instead of reeses cups cause it's not listed out on the website, etc. The employees are the goats. Give them your business or else! jk but you should son

This is the worse 16 handles I've ever been too. It smelled like dirty mop. There were no toppings and the staff is literally sitting down talking eating ice cream. Gross

I'm giving this 2 stars just because the people who work there are so nice. However, I went there Friday and ended up getting the worst case of food poisoning. Please check your machines. Not good

I went here after the crazing for frozen yogurt was strong!!! They offered a good selection of toppings and flavors. While they don't have a lot of toppings the toppings they do have are amazing and tasty!! Graham cracker icecream is the winner along with chocolate crunch topping.The yogurt itself is a little runny instead of silky which takes away from it a bit. The girl that works there looks like she hates her job when asking for a sample she hands you a cup and just doesn't care. They started mopping while I was eating icecream I mean cmon? The smell of cleaning solution while you're eating not cool. Staff members needs an attitude adjustment. Don't clean the floors while people are eating. Just common curtesy. They accept cash credit or you can use level up where you scan you're phone! Pretty cool. Would definitely try 16 handles again just probably not this location.

Always the best place to get desert after you tour around the Williamsburg neighborhood. Cutie interior so pretty

This is my daughters favorite place to have some nice ice cream with many many toppings. They are open during COVID. so if you have a craving for sweets this is your place to go

This is a great location. There aren't really any other good choices for yogurt even close to walking distance, which makes this place even more valuable. I guess hipsters don't really like yogurt, as this place is usually pretty empty. This is really the only good dessert spot I like in this area, aside from the 10 minute or so walk down to OddFellows for some really excellent ice cream. If you are trying to keep it a bit lighter though, this is your best bet around here. Read any other review from any other 16 Handles in NY to find out more. They're all the same now.

NEVER ORDER THE AÇAÍ BOWL FROM HERE (or anything honestly - isn't the froyo craze over?) JUST DONT. IT'S FROZEN AND NOT FRESH. GO TO Pressed Juicery or Juice Generation a block away for açaí bowls that are amazing and the same price. Just avoid this place until they go out of business. This place belongs in like Iowa, not NYC

DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE! ESPECIALLY THE ACAI BOWL!!! After being pleased with the photo of their acai bowl on GrubHub, I placed an order. I understood that toppings were going to come in separate containers for me to add myself, and even expected it to be a little melty due to delivery but I was fine with that. What I was not expecting, was what I received - a hard, crunchy, chemical tasting, half-frozen, plain, purple bowl of crust. See my photos to get what I mean - like WHAT is that? To make matters worse, I contacted GrubHub who contacted the location and they refused to be cooperative saying "I received my order" - I had to beg GrubHub to help me, and send photos them of the awfulness. For 16 Handles' lack of customer service, accountability, and clear disregard to food prep, this place deserves 1 star.

Tried the oat milk coconut dreamboat flavor! I don't eat dairy but I pass this 16 Handles every single day on my walk home from the subway. It was nice to be able to finally enjoy the yogurt experience! They also partner with DO which has vegan cookie dough!

Our cashier was very nice to us. She greeted us on arrival and asked us if we would like sample cups. That's the first time I've ever been offered sample cups so she rocks just for offering it without me having to ask. We tried numerous flavors here and they were very satisfying. I was a huge fan of the cheesecake and peanut butter flavor. My daughter were a fan of the fudge flavor yogurt. I am a little disappointed that 3 flavors I really wanted to try, were out and not being refilled. I wanted to try the Salted caramel but there wasn't anymore, also cookies and cream and red velvet. I was actually expecting all those wonderful flavors to be empty, because seriously, who doesn't love salted caramel and the other 2 flavors? I will be returning again and hopefully with those flavors being fully stocked. My 4 stars are based on customer service and decent flavors. I will be returning again for more visits especially since our nice cashier signed me up for a VIP rewards card.

This is my go to frozen yogurt place! It's usually never crowded regardless of location. There's a couple of benches outside to enjoy your delicious treat! I find that the frozen yogurt is not to sweet which is perfect because the sweetness can be cloying! I like getting vanilla, arabica coffee and occasionally the cookies and cream flavors!

Staff is nice here and the complicated crepe dessert was delicious, but took quite a while to make. Wish it had retained some of its warmth by the time assembly was completed...

I mean.. They have me by the b*alls in this place. IT'S SOOO GOOOOOOD I can't resist. SOOO good. So good. So fresh. Amazing.

Now is this establishment decently tasting? Absolutely. Is there anything new, special, or different about this establishment from any other Yogurtland, Pinkberry, Tutti Frutti, etc.? Not really. So even though I kinda bashed on this place a little bit at the beginning, I still really do like froyo places like this, and am a fan of all of them. Each one has a similar set list of above average base flavors (coconut, acai something, gluten free chocolate, etc.), and the customization options are all relatively in line with one another as well (assorted fruits, differing cookie crumbs, various cereals, etc.). When you combine these realize that you only have to pay by the ounce, something magical happens. The price to taste to quantity ratio begins to steadily increase. Perhaps its because they only have to pay one person to work the cashier that they can afford to pass these savings along to consumers, but in the end, these types of froyo establishments are all welcome in my book. Was there a certain mind blowing flavor you NEED to try here? No, if you want practice, you can try one of the other 2 dozen 16 handles locations in NY, or one of the other hundred different froyo establishments.

NOT my favorite fro yo chain in the least! i've always sampled their flavors without being satisfied w/ any of the flavors THIS TIME i sampled the coffee & actually ended up liking it..BUT after purchasing a cup full i was sick of it after a few bites 16 handles just doesn't match up to my favs: yogurtland & pinkberry.. SORRY I'M NOT SORRY

Tastier than Pinkberry or Red Mango. Great flavors and thoughtfully paired if you wanted to swirl them (e.g. peanut butter and chocolate). They give you your own sample cup and don't hover over you, which I like. :) Lots of chairs and tables to sit at and relax with friends.

16 handles is probably the best frozen yogurt chain in NYC. They are well designed, fun, clean, and generally well run (ie quick). The branch in Chelsea is the best as it has lots of people and is fun. The problem with this branch is that it's in a kind of dull location, is always overly heated, and just doesn't have the 'vibe' of other branches.

Even thought the frozen yogurt is delicious, the service was probably the worse I have ever had in NY. As soon as we walked in, we were asked if we had a mask, we put it on, while, the employee removed the mask, when checking out, her nose was exposed and asked her not to breath in out food and she replied she was vaccinated, so are we, so why do we have to wear a mask??? Extremely rude and dismissive attitude, not appreciative of their customers.

No issue redeeming $5 birthday reward here, a solid location in an area that doesn't need froyo but somehow still isn't that oversaturated with options.

Just visit with my daughter and her ice cream spilled and they really made me pay for another.

Wohoo, my favorite frozen yoghurt shop just around the corner from Bedford Ave subway. Great selection of toppings! But unfortunately not as many flavors as in their East Village store...Could improve on that, but overall great experience! And they even offer delivery.

Wow it got so expensive. Did they forget it's just a frozen yogurt shop? And never with "16 handles" working? I tried a flavor I never tried before - strawberry shortcake...so good. But come on, I paid about $8 and I didn't even fill the pink cup up to the brim. Omg I can get 2 supermarket ice creams for that amount and have them for days. The prices are just ridiculous. I used to love them and if it wasn't for the credit I had on my account I wouldn't have come. Be reasonable and give us a decent price for the items you sell.

Nothing to rave about but nothing to diss on either. If you've been to any 16 Handles, it's no different. Lots of flavors, lots of fresh topping options, and they have a rewards card program as well for any of you froyo addicts (like me...sorry not so sorry). Service is fine.

The yogurt tasted fine, despite the high price of 75 Cents/oz! There were about 10 people working and only two who were actually working. Their employees were bothered by customers who asked for taster cups. Yes, they actually had to put their phones down to help a customer. During the twenty minutes we were there, the employees were on their phones or eating. Tables could have been wiped, items restocked or the overflowing trash could have been emptied. It was the most unprofessional establishment I've ever seen. Unbelievable.

When fro-yo was my obsession, I was very loyal to one particular brand- not 16 handles. This 16 handles business seemed like trickery with the whole self-service thing... "so you're telling me i can have as much yogurt as i want... okay... GADZUKES, how much is my yogurt?!?" Fast forward to several years down the line and I have not only learned self control, but also to be open minded about dessert. My lady pals and I had a GNO and ended it with some fro-yo (does it annoy you when i say fro-yo? I kinda hate myself for saying fro-yo). This 16 Handles isn't really new but its so incredibly clean and inviting that I felt the flutters in my tummy telling me to "GET THE BIG ONE!". I pulled in the reigns to have just a taste of two yogurts before making my decision. I ultimately decided on the cookies and cream with peanut butter. Once you serve yourself your ice cream, you can then add toppings from the topping bar. They have anything from fruit to cookies and even some things you wouldn't even think of putting on your yogurt. I tried to keep it classy (and affordable) with pb and oreo yogurt topped with chocolate chips, strawberries, slivered almonds and for fun goji granola. $7 later i was half crying, half smiling over my dessert. All jokes aside, you pay for what you pile on. What a great way to teach yourself about portion control. Great, clean establishment and I would definitely come back

When I want to activate my happy endorphins and go shopping; Crossroads is the place to go and get a vintage Mara Hoffman dress and other designers goods as well as JCrew, Madewell jeans and other brands. The place is well organized in sections and color coded making shopping a breeze

There's only one cup size, $.75 per ounce or whatever price scheme. A sprinkle of crushed oreos, not even a full twirl of FRYO at the bottom of my cup, $8.00. My cup looks empty as hell should have went to whole foods and got a half a pint of ice cream.

Half of the yogurt were out of order and the place just looked messy. Like yelp would say, "Meh. I've experienced better."

As much as I view this location as being a part of the demise of Williamsburg's grungy hipster, small mom and pops businesses, I still love 16 Handles. I know how hypocritical this statement is. But the truth is, Williamsburg has been changing for years and it was only a matter of time before the Duane Reade and Fro Yo stores sprang up on the lesser commercial side of the river. Alas I love 16 Handles so very very much. Yes, they are a big chain, but a chain which I think does a nice job. This location is huge, with a lovely bubble gum pop vibe to it, as all of their stores are. Great music, super friendly staff, free samples of all of the newest flavors. What what, passionfruit sorbet you are my new lover. What what, salted caramel... with the caramel sawce (rhymes with BOSS) with a generous amount of crushed peanuts on top. Did I mention that while I was here during opening weekend I saw a preggo hipster lady get into a fight with a sassy Asian lady and almost duke it out over the fudge dispenser. Yes. That really happened and yes both of their respective husbands / boyfriends wanted nothing to do with it, but in the end had to forcibly walk the two away from one another. Oh Bedford. Oh 16 Handles. I feel like I am going to enjoy the people watching in this location most of all. Drama unfolds in a scene reminiscent of a sweet sixteen birthday party... How sweet it is! p.s. and yes I will be taking my froyo down to the East River to take in a hipster sunset.

Fave flaves: Banana, Taro, Graham cracker. Also they let you sample the hell out of everything which is nice and stopped me from getting cotton candy flavor which who am I kidding I kind of liked anyway. It's not really healthy but who the hell cares! Although sometimes when I feel healthy I just get fruit, nuts and coconut and it's cheaper than what you'd pay for a fruit cup.

Decent froyo flavors. My issue is with the employees who threw out a bag left on the counter without attempting to find who it belonged to. The store wasn't even crowded! We were in the store for a total of 15 minutes while this all occurred. So sad.

This is my favorite spot , I love most of the flavors, pistachos was my favorite but i think its seasonal. Any way I would go every day but Ofcourse I can't. Defenetly a place you should not miss you will love it like me..

Brand new frozen yogurt chain opened up in my hood of Williamsburg. Its really nice and clean. The people that work there are friendly too. Since it was my first time there, I had to ask a couple of questions. I prefer not to have dairy when not needed so I tried the watermelon sorbet. It was good but it tasted very artificial. I guess thats what you get right? If I ever have kids I would not let them eat that stuff. lol One star gets taken off because I'm major OCD and I like things to be handled correctly. Having to spoon out your own toppings makes me a bit paranoid. Especially if there are a ton of kids coming in one day they will grab things with their hands and eww.. the though of that kills me.

What's not to love? It's FroYo, really hard to go wrong here. This place is pretty spacious and they have quite a big selection of frozen yogurt flavors, definitely 10+ flavors to choose from and sample! My favorite flavors are the graham cracker and birthday cake.. yum! Boyfriend loves the coffee flavor and gets it every damn time without fail. I also think the topping section is bountiful, with many cakes, cookies, gummies, marshmallows, and even mochi to choose from; and to top it all off they have warm fudge sauce and whipped cream. The place is really fun a bright on the inside with plenty of seating. Points knocked off because the staff have an "indifferent" attitude, but it doesn't bother me so much since it is self serve. Also, sometimes the consistency of the froyo is a little watery and loose. Overall, a solid spot to get your FroYo fix, not much different than other frozen yogurt shops, but I'm not complaining, they're all great!

I am surprised how much people don't like this place. I guess those are the people who dislike anything that does not fit into the aesthetics of a neighborhood. Whatever dude. This place is what it is. You go in, get your cup, fill it up with what ever flavor you want, as much as you want(or can afford), and you put your ingredients on your fro yo. I only give it 4 cause sometimes this place seems a little dirty.

Fro yo is about the simple things. It's a brief experience meant to inspire childhood nostalgia and satisfying instant gratification. The froyo itself doesn't always matter, but the context of being in a colorful, whimsical environment with friendly staff is meant to transport the froyo connoisseur out of their humdrum realm for few precious minutes. Yesterday a female member of 16 Handles staff at this location went way above and beyond the call of froyo-arbiting duty and made my miserable day infinitely brighter in the light of her kindness and empathy. I am only sorry I didn't get her name but she was working here 11/19 around 4 pm and showed me, total stranger, some epic level compassion. I'd just lost my phone on the Marcy ave station platform and was a little heartbroken and agitated my scandalous awful selfies were making the interweb rounds already so I decided to drown my sorrows in chocolate froyo. When I came in and made some unfunny joke (more an announcement of actual fact) about guzzling frozen yogurt to selfishly console myself over my first-world problem this chick was beyond nice. Nice is what losers say to make you trust them. Everyone should be basically nice. It's not a compliment or an extra positive attribute. This chick was rad. I didn't expect anyone else to actually give a shit because my crappy motor skills dropped my phone but she listened, asked me about it and seemed genuinely concerned about my not having a good day. Like, upset I was not happy. Which in a weird way made me happy someone was concerned. I mean, you're at work in your frozen yogurt spot and some lady comes in complaining and being self-centered and this girl had the decency to actually be incredibly wonderful and thoughtful in response. That's cool As a grown up person with a frozen yogurt rewards card and shameless multi-taster of frozen yogurts which which I am already familiar, this interaction was the most positive thing to happen to me personally all week. The hell with my phone, The hell with froyo. People matter. I hope that girl gets a goddamn raise. And apple cider doughnut is the ultimate.

Had a fro-yo craving tonight... Yep in the middle of winter and luckily 16 Handles is very close to my apartment. And to my surprise lots of other people getting their late night fro-yo itch scratched. :) Got a mash up of tart euro, NY cheesecake and chocolate. Yum!!! Topped with fresh berries and choc chips. Store was clean, product was fresh and tasty. Will be back when the craving strikes again!

Love that the Williamsburg location is now open. It is ridiculously close to home and I may just go even more frequently. I used to stop at the one in the East Village, but now...it's right here! I love all the flavors, you can never go wrong...and I love their plethora of topping choices. My favorite new toppings are all the different boba flavors...simply delicious. Good any time of the year.
