When we arrived, the two staff members did not make eye contact for several minutes, so we seated ourselves. One staff member brought over two ice waters and menus then didn't return for 20 minutes. In the meantime, when I went to the bar to check if we were supposed to order at the bar, the second staff member said, "She brought you water. She's serving you," to indicate I needed to sit back down and wait. Both staff members were rude to us from the outset for no reason and continued this way throughout the night. When we ordered, I asked if the happy hour specials on the website were available, and she snickered and said, "You can disregard that. I *gave* you the menu." In the end, dinner took 2 hours between ordering, getting the food (came at a normal speed), asking for the check, receiving the check, correcting the check, and processing our cards. Each time the server stepped away, she ignored all attempts to be flagged down and didn't return for 20 minutes. When she brought the bill, as we handed the credit cards down to her, she put the check on the table and said, "I'll come back," then walked away. She added an 18% service fee to the check despite the receipt saying this is only applied for parties of 10 or more -- another review here says a party of 1 was similarly billed automatically. After some of our party left and the rest were working out how to repay each other for the split bill, the staff member then came and started wiping down the half of the table that was unoccupied, right up to my seat, as if to indicate it was time for us to clear out. The passive aggressive and outright rude demeanor is shocking for a hotel serving people coming to receive care at or attend educational events at the hospital next door.
It's hard to get past the atrocious service and hard to say whether the issues with our food were due to the server as well, however two people in our party ordered the chicken sandwich that came with a spicy mayo sauce, and neither sandwich had the sauce so we very dry. We ordered a side of fries and were billed for it, but it never arrived. Several people ordered the Old Bay fries but were given regular fries. One of the two dessert items listed on the menu was not available.
Limited menu (the one online is not correct) and very limited vegetarian options (a small salad for $16 or penne pasta for $26).
My blackened salmon salad ($28) was actually perfect, but you couldn't pay me to come eat here again.
The rooftop is beautiful and the outdoor fireplace was a perfect place to sit in the cool fall night air.
