Prices are up, quality is down, but this is true everywhere. Overall, Zyka does give glimpses of their past excellence. The races over tables with other patrons (seat yourself, self-serve format) and waiting for your name to be called will never get old. Also, chilli chicken, saffron rice, Kalimirch, and goat haleem are the items to go for now. The chicken 65 is everyone's go-to appetizer; however, the consistency and amount vary too much. Still good option with the naan at times, though again now I prefer the chilli chicken. About how healthy it is...this isn't sweetgreens, so some of you all need to stop looking for that here. That said, some dishes are too oily or salty on some days (again more of a consistency thing).
Biryanis are lacking in amount, and the butter chicken is simply okay with the actual butter you see on top making it unique. Chicken boti tastes great, but again brings up the amount concerns. Chicken Charga is a pain to deal with and can get messy to eat due to bones. Baigan (eggplant) is a good veg option here. Chikoo kulfi for dessert is a rare find and excellent!
Yes, there are perennial cleanliness issues, but you can politely ask a worker to clean down the seats and/or table once you find yourself a place. Be cognizant you are not tipping anyone, and the restaurant is very informal. At this point, the restaurant has a loyal fanbase as the OG dining option for the South Asian community. Zyka is an emotion to many.
