Google
Got a couple plastic cups of beer after being across the street for an event. Seating is ample. Service seemed nice. Beer good.

Tina Nelson

Google
The beer was great. Delicious hot pretzel. Nice space. But I was turned off watching the bartender take three shots in the hour I was there. Not very responsible. Other than that I’d have give. 5 stars.

Leonardo Torres

Google
I suppose the atmosphere of the place is evocative of a grunge concert. I'm not a fan of grunge but I like the beer. The Password Pale Ale was crisp and refreshing. One can mix and match any 4 pack cans of beer to their choosing. They also fill up 32 ounce crowlers.

Google
Fantastic brewery for pre and post show drinks and food. Highly recommend their draft beers and quesadillas! Great music also ! Can’t wait to go back !

Google
Nice selection of craft brews, cool and helpful bartenders. What more could you ask for in a brewery. They have a full bar so if you are looking for a place to get some craft beer along with some cocktails this is a great place.

Erica Loberg

Google
Nice selection of drafts and a great flight deal with 4 good little pours for only $11. They have a lot of space outside for actually spaced out seating too, which is nice. Plus individual boxes of jenga and other board games, for anyone so inclined. Also would recommend the chili lime peanuts.

Lisa Connell

Google
One of the best breweries we visited in Brooklyn with THE best selection of craft beers. Great food truck too

Stephen Coleman

Google
We were disappointed that the bartender kept ignoring people waiting to order drinks so she could tell stories at the (not busy) bar. Was truly weird. Closed tab later with a different bartender and he walked to our table & aggressively asked why we only tipped her 18%. Told him & haven't gone back since.

Yelp
*Pumpkin beer alert * I'm Not Even A Pumpkin Guy on tap here - amazing taste . Brewery has good vibes.

Yelp
18th Ward Brewing deserves 100 stars in my book. We stopped by here before a concert at Brooklyn Steel and were so pleased. The bartender was incredibly friendly and helpful, and we greatly enjoyed our blackberry sour beer. We also ordered food (vegetarian tacos & nachos) - this food is not to be missed. It was absolutely incredible, and the great taste paired with the ambiance of the place and the tasty beer was unbeatable. I hope to return for sure.

Yelp
Got to at last try 18th Ward Brewing at the Brooklyn location . It's been a while since this brewery has made my list and I am very grateful to at last finally try some of their beer. Steve and I had a surprisingly good IPA that was session oriented called Future Memory. We found it to be very refreshing and enjoyable to drink. Flavors to look for in this very drinkable IPA are citrus, dry hopped flavor and bitterness. The IPA is bright in color and very light bodied which I have said before, it's something that Steve and I more often than not greatly appreciate.

Yelp
The brewery is very popular. The place had live music on a weekend. The space has inside and outside seating areas. Bartenders are super friendly and accommodative. I would say that the beer is quite good here, and everyone finds something they like. I enjoyed pale ale that has a little bit of floral background .

Yelp
They have consistently more beer again, but they stopped hosting live show. The grapevine says they got in trouble after neighbors complained about the noise, which is dumb AF considering those same neighbors live next to Brooklyn Steel. But even with consistent drafts, the beer is too "just okay" to be a destination for anyone that doesn't live nearby.

Yelp
I checked out this brewery in Brooklyn because I was in the area visiting another brewery, but sad to say this one did not live up to my expectations. The first thing you notice when you walk in is the bartender behind the bar smoking a vape and chilling with their friends. The two bartenders alternated between coming from behind the bar and talking with friends to vaping and even taking my friends seat at one point. Besides the poor service the beer was subpar. The golden ale was more watery than flavorful and the winter saison was more funk than anything else. Not to mention a draft was $10. The vibe was frat keg party as opposed to actual brewery

Yelp
This place was fine? The food was serviceable and the beers were decent. Tried a couple of their cocktails which were basically just juice (exceptionally flavorless and watered down.) Also the bartender gave very weird vibes- like he seemed real high but also oddly aggressive and not the least bit friendly. There are worse places to have a drink while waiting for a show at Brooklyn Steel- but there are also definitely better.

Yelp
Great brewpub. Came here with a large group on a weeknight. Bar staff was well prepared to handle our large group. They did a great job of handling our rush when we arrived. Nice variety of beers on draft. I opted for the Vienna lager. Malty and sessionable as I was hoping. They have a food cart outside selling tacos, quesadillas, burritos, and a few other items. Pricey yet convenient given there aren't many food options within a short walk.

Yelp
I stopped by because I was in the area and was looking for food. Their tacos are amazing! I would drive back just for them. I tried the chicken and vegetable tacos. They were fresh and delicious! They were the best tacos I've had! I'll definitely stop back here when I'm in the area again. The servers were friendly and nice. I'm so glad that I stopped here!

Yelp
Stopped by randomly on a Sunday. Really has that Brooklyn feel to it. There was live music going on outside. Beer was pretty decent. Loved the elote chips. 4/5 because the pictures showed arcade games which was probably the only reason I stopped here. There were none. Not sure why but I'm assuming because of covid. Really should have gone down in stars but I know businesses needed to do what they had to do to survive. Maybe it should be updated on their info though.

Yelp
We were here for a show last night 'Cannibal Corpse' and a bartender kept telling us to leave while we were on the picnic tables outside. Then he asked as us we were 'even patrons' and then when we told him to leave us alone he threw a full beer in my friends face. Totally unacceptable. We do not go to shows to be bullied by bar workers. Like who acts like this while they are working any way? We have not heard anything from the bar as yet, but this is an insane thing to have happened. Edit: Jordan thanks for your reply and for reviewing the footage. I am not sure what you think you saw. Your employee is the one who came up to us repeatedly after we had left the bar and were on public property. There seems to be a pattern of harassment and unprofessional behaviour reported in your business's Yelp reviews. Apparently this isn't the first time staff have left the property to harass people in public spaces. Nobody lunged at anybody until after the drink was thrown. I have never in my life been treated this way, it's never acceptable for an employee to throw a drink in a patrons face over words. I suggest you hire security staff for your business so that disagreements can mediated without bartenders assaulting patrons.

Yelp
This is a great space across from Brooklyn steel - but tonight (10/29/22) they only had one bartender working on the busiest night of Halloweekend and he was overworked and stressed. While my friends and I were ordering drinks, he yelled at us (a group of women) for jabbering our orders at him one by one and slowing him down. It was an incredibly disrespectful and honestly sexist exchange. We closed our tab and didn't order any more even though we had planned to.
google avatar

Fynne M.

Yelp
Cute little brewery right across from Brooklyn Steel. The beers were good we had the black IPA and the blonde ale. I really enjoyed the black IPA, very tasty! They do serve food but it was kind of confusing as to what they had and where to order, we didn't get anything because of that. Service was decent, they are pretty quick and efficient. Was a tad dirty in there, but nothing too bad. Bathrooms could have used a good cleaning. The sinks are outside the bathroom which I didn't like. Overall not a bad spot to grab a drink before a show, would go again!

Yelp
18th Ward Brewing is one of my favorite breweries in NYC! Incredible beers and an incredible time. I've enjoyed every single one of their beers I've had and pretty sure I've tried the whole menu by now lol. Definitely get one of their IPAs or sour lagers if you're not sure where to start. And sign up for the mug club if you're local and you like 20oz beer pours/free beer on your bday! You can even bring your friends who don't like beer (weirdos) since they also have a full bar. They also have fun events on the weekends. They've been hosting New Colossus Festival Summer Sunday's which consists of a rotation of different local NYC artists from 12-6 on Sundays but they often have bands on other days. Just follow their instagram for updates. If you like amazing beer, nice people, and live music then this is the place for you! This will be my go-to place this summer and beyond.

Yelp
Located next to Brooklyn Steel, 18th Ward is a great meetup spot before a show. The place is large. It hosts some live music of their own sometimes. It's a good spot if you have a large group of friends. I wasn't thrilled with the beers. A large percentage which were IPA or pale ales. A lot that weren't were low ABV. Made due and got a round for my friends. I got their pilsner which was solid, but nothing amazing. Overall It's a good spot to check out and hit up before a show.

Yelp
My life has been on the up and up ever since my experience at the 18th Ward. I'm pretty sure the bartender Lily hexed me... in a good way. Let me take you back to two weeks ago... I might've had the worst day of my life and I was sad sad. So I decided to get drunk solo. I stumbled into the 18th ward, unaware of what sort of fun and wonder was at store. For starters, the bar had this kind of "oh my god THIS is a bar?!" Kinda vibe. But the longer I was there, the more it felt like a place I've always known. I walk in, the mismatched flooring took me back to my parents remodeling my childhood home. The bar itself, resembles the most authentic Brooklyn hipster, I only like beer that comes from the hops teet- but that's the kid of guy I am. (For context I am a 5'4 man with a Claude Monet inspired beard. I only hang out w girls who like bears and I'm 47 and single.) Lily rocked my tits off. She knew exactly what I wanted by just looking at me. She was super sexy too while doing it. She poured me a neon dragon, and I saw god. Never in my life have a had a better beer, served by a sexier woman who I will add, does love bears AND beards. I was in love. She talked to me about space. Her favorite planet is Jupiter btw- so pretty but she also likes Neptune. She also is very pretty, in case I forgot to add. But her aurora is superior, unlike that witch troll Ethan. Enough has been said about him. I digress- In conclusion, 18th Ward is definitely the place to be. This Brooklyn hotspot has the Clair Peck seal of approval and would recommend this spot to anyone who asks for a cool yet cozy bar in Brooklyn. 8.73/10

Alex H.

Yelp
I live upstairs and the bar is always respectful of myself and the other residents. Ethan and Lilly are best. Excellent spot to grab a beer any day of the week.

Benjamin B.

Yelp
Superb place to drink before or after a show next door, bartenders are extra reasonable abd the service is solid. Been here plenty of times plus the food is so clutch (esp. the Alejandro nachos!!) considering not much is in the area. Super chill vibe and considering returning the next time I'm seeing a show at Steel!

Yelp
Warning, there is a chance you will be treated poorly by Ethan, who may tell you he is the owner of this brewery. I've visited 18th Ward on 2 occasions to see a friend's band play. And on both those occasions was treated poorly at the bar by Ethan.. At first I thought this guy was just having a bad day and didn't think much of it. Apparently my friend and I pissed this guy off by asking about a specific beer, and asking if they carried Jameson (they do serve liquor). Unfortunately, the situation didn't stop there. My friends and I (including a child), were hanging out across the street listening to the band play, and Ethan, the owner, came over screaming at us from the middle of the road, telling us to get out of the road, when we were actually on the sidewalk, with one of us just right off the sidewalk. At that point, he was literally the only person in the middle of the road. There were other people on the other side of the road, there were kids zooming down the street on scooters, but this guy decided to come over aggressively screaming at us, cursing, throwing up his middle finger, mind you all in front of a 1.5 year old kid, and many other kids around. He then started squaring off to one of the dads, and nearly picked a fight with him! We kept asking him to walk away, telling him we were just here to listen to our friends band play, trying to enjoy our Sunday. He then told us to never come back again and leave this second, and that he was calling the cops! At that point I realized what was going on. He didn't say anything to anyone else but our group of non-white people. When he did speak to other people, he spoke calmly and kindly, but with us, it was a totally different attitude. It was actually so unexpected and shocking that a few folks kindly came up to us after and asked if we were okay, and that they saw everything that happened and apologized that this could even happen. The guy bbqing for the festival, had to go inside and close my tab, as I was in tears and too scared to do so. I visit all of the local breweries in Brooklyn and have always been treated well. I'm still in shock that this happened to us. We will obviously be taking our business elsewhere.

Yelp
I love popping in here on a Saturday afternoon after I crush laps at McCarren Track. Great selection of freshly brewed beers- Future Memory is my fave, and Ethan the bartender is always a fun time! Sorry I always come in when I should probably be in the shower lolol.

Yelp
Live music! Best of the best in Williamsburg every weekend. Courteous staff and great beer!! The bartender Ethan was very attentive and always got our drinks promptly. Thank you 18th Ward Brewery and company. See you next weekend!!!

Anthony R.

Yelp
Ahhh 18th Ward.. Great selection of beer and they have food?! Love it love it. Came with a couple of friends who were in town for the weekend. Tried about 5 different beers on tap and loved them all. If I didn't have other plans I would possibly stayed all night. With Tvs and good music playing why bother leaving? Haha. I'll be back again and again. OH and sign up for the mug club if you are a local. You won't regret it. But hurry they might run out of numbers.

Yelp
Getting straight down to it: awesome place. I can't believe it's only been around since 2019, because the vibe and feel has me believing this is an old Brooklyn mainstay. Came here on a Sunday for their weekly concert series, and ended up being a little early. The bartender was super nice and didn't seem bothered that I wanted a beer right as they opened up. The bartender was also insanely chill the whole day, even though a ton of people showed up for the concert. He answered my questions about the beer and even hooked me up in the end - I gave him a huge tip. The beer itself is very, very good. The strawberry sour and the midnight snack stout were standouts and I have done nothing but talk up these beers. As a concert space, I really enjoyed my time here. While it was a little packed, everyone seemed either vaxxed or cool with masking indoors. Would absolutely go back for the beers and the live music.

Yelp
Wide beer selection, friendly and engaging bartenders, and good vibes. Will definitely be back here!

Yelp
Great beer, fun vibe. Ethan booted d*ckhead customers that needed to go. Definitely come here if you're in the area.

Yelp
Great beer and chill place to hang. Super covid friendly! If you sneek over to the corner on Richardson you get great sun in the afternoon
google avatar

Laura E.

Yelp
Came here for the Autumn Tippler to try their signature cocktail, the Manhattan. Unfortunately for me, they had run out of the ingredients needed to make the drink. The bartender was kind enough to offer me a substitute. Went with a Cranberry and Vodka. The drink was okay ( a little too much ice for my liking). The bartender was cool. He informed me about their selections of beers, which I thought was nice. I'm not a beer person at all, however, I do believe that my friends would find this place to their liking.

Ken C.

Yelp
Interstiing brewery and bar. Limited but excellent beer list complemented by cocktails and a few snacks. Live band this afternoon.
google avatar

Erica R.

Yelp
Incredible local spot that has music and friendly staff, especially Ethan behind the bar.
google avatar

Gina S.

Yelp
What a great place! I passed it many times but friends were in town seeing a show at Brooklyn Steel so I met them. The beers are really good. A good selection. I liked the mix of people and they were setting up for live music. I will definitely be back.

Kyle N.

Yelp
Bartender Patrick is a useless, beer is ok. Food truck outside is fantastic. Sound system sucks.
google avatar

Richie H.

Yelp
Friendly bartenders, yummy taco stand attached out front, they'll give you a number and bring your food directly to your bar stool / table. Had a Hazy IPA and a Mexican Lager and was very pleased with both. Cool atmosphere, great location across from Brooklyn Steel. They also do some live music of their own from time to time.
google avatar

James W.

Yelp
I met some friends here before the Future Islands show at Brooklyn Steel and I have to give a shoutout to the bartenders. They managed a big pre-show rush with an amazing amount of grace. I've never seen a bartending team power through a crowd like that before. Way to go.
google avatar

Rachel A.

Yelp
Great beer, food, and live music on a Friday night. Perfect weekend vibe. The servers were awesome, really attentive. Had a blast!
google avatar

Justin T.

Yelp
I've been going to 18th Ward since they open back in 2019, and I have experienced nothing but the best service. The bartenders, Ethan specifically, has been my go to bartender because of his knowledge of the beer, and his easy going, welcoming personality. As a person of color, I have never felt uncomfortable or unwelcome from anyone associated with 18th Ward. I often bring friends and family, also people of color, and they have never experienced anything but great service, awesome beer, and a great venue for live music. Overall, a great place with great beer, and great atmosphere!
google avatar

Yelp
Finally checking out one of the new kids on the NYC craft beer scene. Great spot! Such a fun and quirky space with arcade games and a wide selection of beers. Love that they also carry guest beers of other breweries in the area. Fav beers was the Space Puddles Passionfruit and and the Goat Head Golden Ale. Also their stout on tap (can't remember it's name) was great! Bartender was great, super friendly and very knowledgeable. Will 100% be back, this is a great spot for a big group of friends wanting somewhere laid back - also a great place to watch sport (tons of TVs!)

Michelle L.

Yelp
First experience wasn't the best. Got thrown out for being "spacey" trying to read the beer menu. Then we moved outside as we were asked too and the bartender came out and yelled at us again to leave with the drinks he just served us. Not sure what we did to upset this guy but won't be back.

Joseph L.

Yelp
Ethan & Lilly, what else do you need? Best bar in North BK shots shots shots shots shots shots and brews!

Yelp
Amazing beer! And great staff :) I will come back over and over until I can't come here anymore

Dror P.

Yelp
Awesome brewery! Excellent beers, delicious food, live music every Sunday and the best staff. Great for a group hang or just to watch a game. Highly recommended, and you must try the tacos.
google avatar

Jackie B.

Yelp
Brethan is an amazing bartender! THE BEST. And the tacos were exceptional! Great live music and keeping the drinks flowing. Awesome beer, very tasty. 5 stars!

Marc C.

Yelp
I've been to this place more times than I can remember. I've been here for birthdays, anniversaries, pre show drinks, post show drinks, drink drinks. It's just a very cool, chill bar/brewery. I like the layout of the place. I found the actual bar comfortable to sit at, it helps the bartenders are friendly. I dig seeing the brewery equipment in the back, knowing it's hard at work brewing next week's tasty beverages. Even the bathrooms are cool with the insane wallpapering of old rock magazines. It's cool they're having outdoor shows right now. Everyone in the neighborhood has missed that.
google avatar

Michael O.

Yelp
Killin it. The beer got reeeeeaaaaaaaaal good over the last year. Making strides. Live music! An actual neighborhood feel! Hidden gem

Dan D.

Yelp
The best place to hang on a weekend, enjoy the fresh delicious beer to wash down the awesome tacos from the taco truck. Great for large groups too. A real friendly laid back vibe

Yelp
Good vibes, excellent location near the Brooklyn steel. Staff was cool too, met a lovely bartender named Ethan (I think) Good beer , comfortable toilets , roomy, nice lighting, and very warm atmosphere

Katie S.

Yelp
okay - as the customer that was actually yelled at with the review left on 10/29 I was content to not also leave a review but now feel like I must clarify after the response from the owner on here for some context - I was there with a large group (of mostly women) and I went up to the bar with myself and one of the guys in my group to order two beers and a G&T. the bartender proceeded to immediately bring the beers and then go help patrons at the other end of the bar. after over 10 minutes (during which I was speaking to my friends and not once bothering him) it was clear he forgot the G&T so I ordered it once more. it took over 5 minutes to get the G&T (which again, totally reasonable! I was not at all upset or acting impatient it was a very busy night!) and by the time he came back I apologized and said another person in our group also wanted to order a beer (at that point it had been almost 20 minutes since I went up to order drinks to begin with) if I could also place that. He proceeds to then yell at me, saying that "you just keep jabbering orders at me and you and your friends really need to just figure out what you want and consolidate it into one, you and your friends are single handedly holding up the entire bar from being able to get any of their drinks" to which I shocked just nodded, apologized again, and the strangers next to me acknowledged what an incredible overreaction it was from the bartender. The bartender then came and slammed the beer in front of me, spilling it everywhere. 1. I DID consolidate my order - the bartender forgot 1/3 of it and I had to order it again and then, after it took almost 20 minutes to get that last third, placed another order since a large chunk of time had passed 2. the use of "jabbering" to a group of women is absolutely sexist language - knowing and being raised by women does not mean you can't say something sexist 3. I under no circumstances "held the bar up" as I stood there for 15 minutes and saw many people get their drinks, including the patrons next to me, and I not once interrupted him or acted like it was an inconvenience 4. to top it all off the bartender overcharged me for both the G&T he gave me and the one he forgot that I never received! thanks! 5. and we still tipped well because it was a busy night and we're not jerks Great location next to Brooklyn Steel but I think we're gonna try elsewhere in the future.
google avatar

Arnie C.

Yelp
Place is great. Good beer and great food had a pretzel and stuffed grilled cheese. Definitely recommend this place.
google avatar

Melissa F.

Yelp
I decided to try out this new spot and the location seems a bit random but it's next to Brooklyn Steel and somewhat close to the L. It has lots of seating and a menu with your typical bar food. I ordered the pretzel ($10 seems steep) and the saison. The pretzel was okay, beer was good and the service was great. The bartender said they're planning to release a double IPA, so I'd come back to try their new stuff when they're more established. Also, love that they have jenga/other board games as well as skee ball.
