Discover the enchanting Pantechnicon in Belgravia, where chic Nordic-Japanese dining meets an intimate rooftop vibe, promising delightful bites and cocktails.
"Five-storey Belgravia spot Pantechnicon is finally ready to reopen. And it’s going to look completely different. Sachi—the Japanese restaurant—is moving to the second floor and rooftop terrace, and will have a traditional kappa ryori menu as well as an omakase chef’s table. Amélie is a brand-new ground floor restaurant with a Mediterranean menu. And there’ll also be a cocktail bar, Luum, with live music and Latin American-influenced drinks. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Team Infatuation
"The Pantechnicon is the sort of building you’d expect to be a huge movie set. But no, this grand building in Belgravia, with huge columns and PANTECHNICON written in all caps at the top, is very real. And the roof garden and terrace on the fourth floor—with all its foliage, light wood, and glass ceilings—is where you’ll find a seasonal cocktail menu, as well as a food menu that’s keen on telling you where things are from: Scottish lobster, Cornish monkfish, rare breed beef. It’s the perfect hidden rooftop for a date or an intimate catch-up over pretty dishes." - Heidi Lauth Beasley, Jake Oliver, Rianne Shlebak, Sinead Cranna, Daisy Meager
"Generally speaking, it’s quite hard to find a rooftop that feels intimate. But the roof garden at Pantechnicon in Belgravia manages to pull that off. From the scandi blankets hanging on the back of the chairs to the leafy planters over the date-ready, two-person tables, it’s relaxed and cosy without ever teetering into snooze fest. Excitement comes in the form of the Japanese-meets-Nordic menu, and if you’re wondering what that entails, think trout tartare with yuzu, a buckwheat chicken katsu, and aquavit and shiso cocktails. " - Jake Oliver, Heidi Lauth Beasley, Sinead Cranna
"We’ve sat on the rooftop of this five-storey Japanese-Nordic shopping and dining centre in the pouring rain and it somehow still felt like a summer night. Have they replaced all their light bulbs with SAD lamps? Is it all an optical illusion? Are we just very unobservant? We don’t know all the answers, but what we do know is that this Belgravia spot managed to confuse our minds into thinking it was a nice day out. And for that we are eternally grateful. So head to The Pantechnicon’s rooftop for Nordic snacks, interesting cocktails, and an outdoor terrace that will help you forget that winter is coming." - Rianne Shlebak
