My favorite restaurant during my trip to Boston. Everything: food, atmosphere, and service was exceptional.
We almost didn’t make it in, as the place was packed and reservation-only. Luckily, a last-minute cancellation opened a spot for us.
Hidden away down a quiet side street, the restaurant exudes a speakeasy style ambiance. The warm and inviting atmosphere blends vintage charm with modern sophistication, making the space feel both intimate and elegant.
Once seated, we were taken care of by Mike, who delivered top-notch service. His professionalism, attention to detail, and genuine kindness truly elevated our dining experience.
We started with the 18hour Cider Braised Pork Belly, which was incredibly flavorful and tender. I ordered The Mad Hatter to drink and was pleased by the smoothness of the bourbon beautifully complemented by well-balanced mixers that highlighted its flavor without overpowering it.
For my main I had the Citrus Herb Crusted Halibut. It was fresh, tender, and flavorful. The sauce it was served in was rich and complimented the unique fregola sarda pasta.
My spouse got the Steak Frites which was cooked to perfection. The fries were crisp, and the truffle aioli was easily the best I’ve ever had.
I can't recommend 1928 Beacon Hill enough, just make sure to get a reservation.
