The Best Bars In The Mission - San Francisco - The Infatuation

"What’s that? You’re looking for an unpretentious place for an intimate night of wine, vinyl, and good food? Meet the 20 Spot. The Mission restaurant and bar with the neon “Records” sign feels like the den of a skateboarder who loves mid-century design and candlelight. You’ll see everyone in the neighborhood sprawled at the bar, sunk into a couch, or on the outdoor seats with a glass of something from Austria or Sebastopol. The food is reliable, leaning into cheese boards, small plates like an excellent chicken liver mousse, and pizzas that are more like personal-sized flatbreads. Count on this place for everything from one-on-ones to full group catch-ups." - ricky rodriguez, julia chen 1, lani conway

The 19 Best Wine Bars In San Francisco

"20 Spot is a super laid-back place in the Mission that you could hang out at forever if the staff wouldn’t kick you out every day so they could retreat to their actual homes. It’s the perfect size to come with one person and have it feel intimate, but it’s still large enough to bring a group without an issue. Split a few bottles from their small list of wines from places like Germany and Croatia, and if you get hungry, they have things like cheese boards, pizzas, and duck breast with hibiscus salsa macha." - julia chen 1, ricky rodriguez, lani conway, will kamensky

The Best Spots To Eat Pizza & Drink Natural Wine, Ranked - San Francisco - The Infatuation

"What’s that? You’re looking for an unpretentious place for an intimate night of wine, vinyl, and good food? Meet 20 Spot. The Mission restaurant and bar with the neon “Records” sign feels like the den of a skateboarder who loves mid-century design and candlelight. It’s all very moody and casual, which is why you’ll see everyone in the neighborhood sprawled at the bar, sunk into the couch up front, or on the outdoor seats with a glass of something from Austria or Sebastopol. The food is reliable, leaning into cheese boards, small plates like an excellent chicken liver mousse, and, of course, (somewhat pricey) pizzas that are really more like personal-sized flatbreads. Though, they're some of the best cheesy flatbreads in town." - Julia Chen 1, Lani Conway

Google
Ordered the beets, beans, and some wine. Everything was incredible. The food was fresh, vibrant, and full of flavor. The wine selection was great and everyone in our party was pleased with their choice. The service was wonderful - everyone was friendly and our orders came out fast. The space itself was great - they have indoor and outdoor seating. We decided to enjoy the sunny day in their covered area.

Google
This is my favorite wine bar in SF now. Their food is fantastic. It's a decent restaurant! The quality extends to the bar food. The menu changes frequently, and all of it is seasonal. This is my fourth visit.

Google
Another one of my go to places in SF. This place is a 5star all around! Rather you’re on a date or eating with a friend or family keep in mind this place is not very kid friendly… kids are welcomed but it’s just not a kid friendly environment. They spin some nice vinyl records-it can get a little Loud but in a good way! the food and service is always outstanding. Everything is made in-house with super fresh ingredients, From the bread to pasta to desserts. Wine selection is also great and the service is super awesome :) I love it I love it I love it 😍 keep it in mind that their menu is constantly changing very seasonal!! I always get a couple of apps then a delicate fish dish, salad, maybe a main dish if I’m sharing and dessert to finish dinner properly.

Google
San Francisco has no shortage of wine bars, but 20 Spot in the Mission district manages to carve out a special niche for itself. It's a solid 4-star experience, perfect for a cozy date night. This review is mostly focused on the ambiance and the service because my friend and I already had dinner at a restaurant next door. Ambiance is King: This place nails the intimate vibe. It's housed in a former record store, and they've kept some of that charm with exposed brick and stacks of vinyl lining the walls. The lighting is warm and dim, creating a perfect atmosphere for conversation and connection. You can also snag a spot on the comfy couch in the back for some serious snuggle factor. Wine & Bites Delight: The wine list is impressive, with a strong focus on interesting finds from California, alongside some classic French and Italian options. The staff is knowledgeable and happy to recommend something based on your preferences. Our bartender was very light-hearted fella and had a great sense of humor. They also serve modern American fare food. Their menu mostly consists of snacks, cheese boards, and small plates with 1-2 mains and some desserts. We tried their house bread with pimenton oregano butter, and it was perfect for sharing. A Few Caveats: It's a popular spot with limited seating space, so be prepared for a wait, especially on the weekends. Also, the focus is definitely on wine, so the cocktail selection is a bit sparse. Overall: If you're looking for a charming and intimate spot for a date night with a focus on great wine and delicious bites, 20 Spot is a fantastic choice. Just be prepared for a wait and the slightly limited seating options. For the ambiance and overall experience, it's definitely worth a visit.

Google
This is the epidamy of a corner bar with tapas, beautiful men that work there, and incredible food! I was taken by surprise by this venue when my new daughter in law made arrangements to have an after-party after their wedding service. This is in the mission, but you have to take a walk there either during the day or come at night. The food will fill your sense as your drinks fill your head. I will come here again, and again. Amazing!!

Google
Super cute wine bar. I tried a natural local wine which was amazing, recommended by the waiter. We had some olives with the wine also very tasty. I’ll definitely be back for more wine and would love to try the food too. Atmosphere was very chill… great spot around the mission!

Google
20 Spot bar delivers an impeccable blend of vintage charm and contemporary offerings. The decor is undeniably cool, effortlessly merging a nostalgic aura with very welcoming vibes, primarily showcased by an impressive array of old records lining the walls. The staff here goes above and beyond, ensuring your experience is warm and delightful. Though we didn’t partake in their culinary offerings, the food, especially the small plates, lamb dishes, and pizza, being enjoyed by fellow patrons, looked incredibly tempting and well-crafted. The crowning jewel, however, is their amazing selection of wines, offering a sophisticated palette that speaks to both novice and seasoned wine enthusiasts alike. A must-visit spot for an elegant, yet cozy, evening in San Francisco.

Google
primarily go for the atmosphere but don’t expect much from the food. lively interior with moody lighting and vinyl records on display and great date spot. brussel sprouts: decent dish, didn’t hate it but didn’t love. uninspiring calamari stew: nice for a cozy night. the bread was really tasty. overall nothing spectacular

Yelp
My friend suggested this little stop while we were in the area - it was my favorite spot of the day. We ordered the beets and beans - both were excellent. So much flavor, incredibly fresh, and vibrant. We all ordered a glass of wine, they had a great selection, everyone was happy with their selection. They have a little outdoor space that we sat in. Two little tables in the sun and a few covered tables. They also have a nice indoor space. The service was phenomenal. Everyone working there was friendly and everything came out quickly.

Yelp
This place is SUCH a vibe! Definitely want to come back and try some food. Went with a girl friend on Friday night around 8 and got seated within 10ish minutes without reservation; it was definitely poppin' though. Ordered a bottle of the orange wine. Service was nice!
google avatar

Yelp
This place is absolutely my vibe, one hundred percent. We were in town for pride and passed by. Casual outdoor tables basking in sunset light on a lazy summer evening, and a stylish interior. We glanced at the menu and decided heck yes. We shared the burrata salad with delicious stone fruits, the crudo with chilled Korean melon, corn pizza which was delicious and ended with the tres leches cake with apricot. Everything was delicious and the service was quick and kind without feeling fake. Would definitely recommend for a date. Another table next to us began as two friends catching up and more familiar passersby joined as the night went on, more wine coming out. Very cute neighborhood spot, and you get to people-watch the line at the ice cream spot across the street, if they're open Also their wine menu is quite good
google avatar

Kurtis W.

Yelp
We stopped in here after grabbing some ice cream across the street. Apparently this place used to be a record shop. The decor is pretty nice and unique. The wine itself seemed a bit overpriced tho and the servers seemed disinterested. Maybe we just went on an off night.

Yelp
We had an excellent dinner at 20 spot. The service was great and we tried both pizzas on the menu, which were excellent and "spot" on. We will definitely come back.
google avatar

Aadya V.

Yelp
So impressed! SF has no dirth of wine bars, which makes the choice of which one to go to really overwhelming. I can confidently say this: pick 20 Spot. It's welcoming, cozy, and vibey, and the wine is so good! We came in around 9pm on a Saturday and they were really full -- we ended up waiting for bar seats. My friend got a chilled red wine and a I got a sparkling red. Mine was like a Labrusco but even better! Our server was so much fun and extremely helpful with the wine selection. He even gave us a taste before we agreed to full pours :)
google avatar

DeVon J.

Yelp
The food was amazing, as well as the service but can get a little loud even with the sound absorbers on the ceiling. The pricing is very high. We had butter beans, asparagus, pizza, bread and lemon butter. Two glasses of wine each and our total bill was $170. That is $85 per person.

Yelp
I was walking down 20th to a friend's house with my headphones on, hoping not to get lost when I saw a sign that said "Records." my first thought was I miss Tower Records, and as I got closer, I heard the music. The 60s music and design reminded me of Austin, Texas. That was my draw, and I had to go in! The inside was grown up and relaxed but in no way kitschy. I felt like I had found my new hang-out spot. The woman I met (I forgot to ask her name) was charming and answered every question. I wanted to stay, have a drink and a nosh, and enjoy this place. I'm definitely coming back with friends...
google avatar

Ivy A.

Yelp
The ambiance is very cool, orange lighting, interesting designs and song choices. We had the orange wine and some house bread with apricot butter. The bread is so good, crunchy and soft in the center. The wine was light and paired with the apricot butter & bread well. perfect little spot for grabbing a drink, chatting with a friend, and having a small snack in a quiet spot! The service is also good, server was attentive and helpful even though we were the only people outside. Will be coming back again

Yelp
So glad my bf and I stumbled upon this spot on our date night. It's tucked away in the mission, but it honestly such a gem. The ambiance is simply wonderful - it's cozy, intimate, and the decor is one of a kind. It's a very tiny bar so be prepared for a wait for to sit at the bar top. Pretty extensive list of wine, and also a great food menu. Highly recommend this place for the vibes and great service.

Nicole P.

Yelp
Such a cute hidden gem- fun for date night. Great bites to eat and lots of great wine to pick from! Love this spot

Yelp
Went with a friend while Todd was guest cheffing. Everything was delicious. Can't believe it's all made in a tiny kitchen - it's truly outstanding food.

Yelp
Stopped by 20 Spot for a drink after dinner and it was packed at 8:30. Luckily we were able to squeeze into the last 2 spots by the bar. It was buzzing and a really fun spot to drink some wine, though I did see people eating dinner at the bar as well. The food definitely looked good too. I got a red and my bf got a glass of white. I was about halfway through my glass and I wasn't really a fan. I struck up a convo with the bartender, who turned out to be the owner and I realized I had accidentally ordered a glass of a natural red wine! The funkiness and acidity of natural wines is not really my thing, and he was nice enough to pour me a regular glass of red free of charge. He was so knowledgeable and friendly, and I loved that he was in the thick of things working behind the bar. This is a great spot in the Mission, I'll definitely be back to try some of their food out.
google avatar

Yelp
I really wanted to like this place, but the combination of overpriced wine and rude service makes it hard to want to come back. The ambiance is cozy at night, but so is nearby Casements, TZA, or buddy.
google avatar

Shelley P.

Yelp
This is a tiny spot located right across my beloved Garden Creamery - I had never realized it was a restaurant/bar though because in the daytime it looks like an old shut-down record store! Had two glasses of white wine here - the first was the Grüner Veltlinier which was crisp and surprisingly juicy/fruity; the second was an orange/white blend which was a refreshing bookend to the pizza we shared (it had fingerling potatoes and red pepper and although quite tiny, it was very nice) .. both were on the dryer end but still enjoyable for me, despite not being a huge wine/dry wine person. Cozy living room vibes, great for dates/small groups!
google avatar

Rheina C.

Yelp
Came here on a Saturday night and it was busy but we were waiting for under 20 mins, so really not bad! The servers were very friendly and accommodating. This was a really cute place to enjoy some wine and catch up with friends. On top of that, all the food was amazing!! I'd give it 6 Yelp stars!
google avatar

Daniel B.

Yelp
Was cute the first time I went. I live in the neighborhood. Want to like it, but this place is a straight ripoff. $140 (+ tip) for cheese, olives, tuna poke, and 4 glasses of wine. The cheese was like two selections of hard, tasteless parmeseanesque (not parmigiano) and a softish tasteless white cheese -- uninspired. No blue cheese, no truffles, no caviar, yet $140...joke. The server was imposing, but basically this price is disgusting. I went down the street to lolo and got "dinner" (2 tacos, shrimp albondigas, corn, and 2 rounds
google avatar

Tiffany J.

Yelp
I'm not exactly a wine person (I know, that's illegal in Northern California!) but this wine bar is a go to when I'm near the Mission. The service was great and our waiter took the time to help me select a red wine that I actually enjoyed. When I do drink wine I prefer white but I decided to step out of my comfort zone and I was not disappointed.
google avatar

Michele Q.

Yelp
Had a delicious light dinner sitting outdoors. Everything was so good. We had the olives (so yummy), halibut crudo, and the white peach salad. Definitely recommend. Will go back
google avatar

Yelp
cute, cozy, intimate date night spot tucked away in the mission across the street from garden creamery attentive service, our waiter was super friendly and recommended lovely dishes my favorite dish was the asparagus pizza!

Latte Queen W.

Yelp
Funky and elegant at once. Delicious tres leches cake. Great music. Would definitely come back!
google avatar

Shaw L.

Yelp
Definitely a warm and cozy spot for having good conversation with friends. They have a great wine list and flatbreads and sides for sharing. Service is brisk in the background without interrupting conversation. Left wanting to come back!
google avatar

Alex A.

Yelp
Horrible experience! Listen, I'm all about food and wines but the moment you try to sell me on a fake/false experience you lost me. I went to dinner and drinks to this spot based on the great reviews with my best friend. All was going great until we asked for recommendations for food and wine. Instead, the gentleman recommended a $167 bottle. I mean I can spend the money but you chose to be greedy. The first red flag was there and mind you it took them forever to bring our charcuterie board. I also asked for more bread and the service took so long by the time I asked for my check he asked me if he could still bring it. I politely told him no as we didn't have anything else eat the bread with. Unfortunately, I will not be coming here again because of the poor experience. If you actually make good recommendations I would have spent way more money and probably tasted more of your food options.
google avatar

Laura L.

Yelp
Came across this place while looking for somewhere to grab a drink and a bite to eat, and we were immediately seated at the bar. It's a little off the beaten path, but really a hidden gem. The staff was so friendly and vibes were great. Music was on point, and they had a very extensive collection of records. We ordered a couple glasses of wine and the sausage pizza, which was pretty solid. Not the best pizza I've ever had but pretty flavorful and it got the job done. Will definitely come back for a night out with friends to enjoy the great music and good vibes.
google avatar

Keri T.

Yelp
Always wanted to try this place because they have such a cute sign outside and finally decided to come here on a sunny day for dinner. Was a bit skeptical because their menu was limited but I was really impressed with their food! I think they switch their menu up and use seasonal ingredients. We got a flatbread with sausage and fig and a pasta and split a bottle of wine. The food was delicious, I'd recommend both dishes! Was also tempted to leave with a bottle because most of their bottles were half off.
google avatar

Vicki L.

Yelp
Loving the rose' by the glass to go! Friendly service. Fun for the neighborhood. Looking forward to returning.
google avatar

Yelp
Love this, cozy and intimate venue. Perfect for a date night or bite with best friend. :) It's tiny, and tucked in, just enough off the beaten Valencia St. path. Only been here two times, but each occasion was yummy and flawless. Very fair prices. Dinner for two (pizza and salad) with a beer is just under $55. The wait stuff is friendly and attentive at the bar seating. I haven't sat at the tables in the perimeter. However, it looked to me that they were being taken care of quite well, too. I already prefer sitting at the bar as you can hear the vinyl that's playing and you have easy access to the bar staff. Can't recommend their pizza enough!! So good!! The fresh homemade crust is thin and crispy, the marinara is the perfect amount of tangy (spicy sausage is excellent!) And their salads are fantastic (not overdressed). Everything I've tasted on their menu so far has been great. I'm looking forward to returning again!
google avatar

Ross C.

Yelp
Love/hate with 20 Spot over the years since it opened. On chill nights it's such a great place to cozy up with a book and a glass. The acoustics and aesthetic are a nice neo-psychedelic and music-lovers vibe. I guess it depends on the staff at any given moment. But I've had pathological experiences. One time the bartender tried to convince my mom her wine wasn't too sweet for her -- which was a weird customer experience flex. And tonight we were asked to give over the table just moments after paying and felt quite rushed (we only stayed an hour!)-- left a sour taste with us after some really great food and wine. Ugh, idk. I just feel compelled to warn the community.
google avatar

Frannie Y.

Yelp
This place is so cute! It's a little small, but the vibe is great. They don't have a huge wine selection for being a wine bar, but I did really enjoy the Pinot Bianco I got. I ordered the Spanish octopus gnocchi , and I really enjoyed it! I'm a huge octopus fan right now, so to be fair, I would probably like any dish with octopus. It wasn't rubbery at all and was really tender. The gnocchi was okay. It was a little too soft for my liking, but the dish as a whole was pretty good. The other good thing about here is that they make all of their pastas in-house which is always a plus! We also ordered the panna cotta which I really enjoyed! It was perfectly creamy and delicious. The only downside was that the waitress we had wasn't super friendly, but she did give us a lot of menu suggestions!
google avatar

Al P.

Yelp
Super cool wine bar spot that is in The Mission. This place has a bright neon sign outside that says 'Records' so you can't miss it. I came in on Saturday evening with some friends, intrigued by the old-school records themed vibe. When we got in, I noted that there's also an old-school library feel as well. Overall, a broad wine selection and the service was great. They'll help you find a glass you like. Didn't try the food - but will be back to try it out!

Erin L.

Yelp
SF's super talented husband and wife dream team, Chefs Alejandro and Marcella have taken the menu at 20 Spot to another level, making it an SF dinner destination. The menu is SO FRESH, so seasonal, and so beautifully crafted with so much intention and heart. We see Marcella and Alejandro at the farmers market every week chatting with the farmers and picking up all of their produce. 20 Spot is one of the best gems in SF. A lot of love makes this place go round. Go experience it for yourself! PS... just had the Tres Leches cake and Strawberry Crostata for dessert and it was FIREEEE!!!!!!
google avatar

Alexander C.

Yelp
Bring a couple friends and enjoy a bottle of wine in the heated parklet. The staff is happy to give you a good recommendation if you're a little overwhelmed! They also have a great food menu with everything from charcuterie to full meals!
google avatar

Raj T.

Yelp
Order the pastas. I think they make fresh pasta. It is by far the best things I've had here. I don't generally like the wines they choose and the non-pasta food has not been good. Outdoor atmosphere is pretty nice

Yelp
Overall: if you are looking for an affordable hipster dive bar with nice food, this place is it. Great place for a date or to meet up with friends. Location: You could easily walk past 20 Spot and not realize it's a restaurant. It's a small narrow set-up that could hold max 40ish people at once. The decor is cute, and the music is nice but at times it can be loud, especially if you are at the back of the restaurant by the speaker Service: The servers are super polite and were able to help out with food selection. Food came out pretty quickly as well and was nicely dispersed (I hate when you wait 45 minutes and then all of your meals come out, flooding the table) Food: For the two of us, we ordered three items and the house bread. The house bread was fresh and the radish butter was unique. It came with a few picked veggies, which was also a nice touch! The peach salad was as expected - refreshing but nothing special. The steak tartare had a strong mustard flavor, so don't order this if you aren't a fan. Otherwise, it was nicely balanced with greens. I actually used the house bread instead of the crostini - definitely recommend! Lastly, we had the squid ink fettuccini. The sauce was tasty, it had a nice amount of shrimp (I was pleasantly surprised to see 6!).
google avatar

Yelp
I haven't been here since pre-pandemic, and we were really impressed by the outdoor dining experience. They have heaters and the tables are well spaced so it felt very covid safe. Service was fast and staff was very friendly. I had the orange wine which was lightly funky and delicious, it went well with the gnocchi. My fiancé had a Syrah which paired well with the short ribs. The food was all really good and I was pleasantly surprised at the quantity for the price. The salad was particularly good, well dressed and lots of fun flavors.

Yelp
What is happening to this city? Why is the 20 Spot closed at 9:30 on a Saturday??? This is the most amazing wine bar in the city and I'm super confused.

Kim O.

Yelp
So I'm walking around the Mission and I hear Prince's Dirty Mind album playing in this restaurant, stopped to look at the menu as I have not eaten here yet, and was oh yeah! And then I see they are playing an actual album in this cozy Mission spot. My only complaint is the Cioppino did not fill me up, though all the seafood was excellent and the garlic bread perfect. I will be back.

Erin W.

Yelp
20 Spot is the perfect little restaurant and wine bar on 20th St between Mission and Valencia in SF's greatest neighborhood. Great staff, and an amazing menu. A cozy and intimate setting. Perfect for date night or the casual glass of wine with friends.

Yelp
Try the duck!! Vibe is great in this neighborhood spot. Ppl are nice and good music too!

Yelp
Caveat: granted, there was no crab pot or hamachi on the menu...clearly crowd faves. Neither was the cauliflower being served last night. A very fair 2.5 for a dinner that was unmemorable. $83 for 2 people, 2 glasses of white (averaging $13/ glass), and 3 starter/small plates. Portions are quite small. Come with a tiny appetite or else be prepared to drop over $100 for a party of 2 for mediocre vittles. The service: meh. Server was not conscientious in checking in with us, save to clear plates and ask whether we wanted to add cheese plate and/or dessert. We didn't find him too concerned. In short, deviled eggs. Longed for the flavor to be even deeper, even with the umami- seafood atop. Burrata was the best in flavor of the 3 plates. Like the seasoning on the baby arugula, crostini toasted properly. Last of all, tartare. Where was the unctuousness, the silky fresh egg and the bright flavor of fresh beef? Didn't agree with the cut of the tartare. It ate not right with the texture in the mouth. Also felt that it needed more flavor, Both dining mates decently well-eaten folk. Sadly, we couldn't say we would ever return, save to partake of a glass at the very cool, retro bar. It's the property that seems to make this place, at least for me and my first dining experience here.

Yelp
YES to the sexy, artsy, wine-centric, music-centric vibe at 20 Spot. The lighting is perfectly low & glowy. The music & wine is always thoughtfully curated. It's my ideal SF date night because it feels lively any night of the week, and casual enough to drop in and grab a seat the bar, lounge area, or communal tables. For wine & small bites, it's solid. Mid-range prices. But main courses can be hit or miss. I once had an incredible gnocchi here, and then had a super disappointing $20 octopus "paella" (more like fried rice). The avocado toast is pretty unique, with halibut ceviche. Oh, and service -- so so cool and unpretentious. Always on top of it, accommodating, and happy to pour little tastes of wine before deciding. I've been recommending 20 Spot to all my wine-loving friends looking for a chill, sultry, low-key date night.

Byron D.

Yelp
All around awesome (not a wine guy either). Great place for a date nite jump-off or the whole nite .
google avatar

Cindy A.

Yelp
This spot is an absolute gem; artsy yet edgy, romantic yet casual. There's a nice lounge vibe which is perfect to bring a date or just have a girls night out. My two girlfriends and I loved all the food we got, but dear baby jesus, can we talk about the crab mac and cheese which is RIDICULOUSLY delicious. It's cheesy, crabby, and carb-y, just everything you want in your mouth. I would come back just for that. We got the kale salad so we would feel less guilty. Highly recommend both.
google avatar

Stare D.

Yelp
Over priced and they force you sit outside in the freezing cold. The wine they have is $10 at any Safeway but they charge you $60 for it. The charcuterie had more pickled veggies than meat and cheese. Paid nearly $200 for that and a bottle. Service was good, servers were friendly but the guy working inside wasn't at all.

Yelp
4.5 STARS The First Date. Many people have asked me for suggestions on where they should bring a first date. You want to impress the girl (or guy) without looking like Mr. Desperado who hasn't gotten laid in a century by forgoing your rent with foo-foo tasting menus. But, you don't want to be that guy who gives off the cheapass vibe by suggesting to grab a banh mi in the TL and share a pee-stained curb and a 40 with the hobo you're sitting next to. The latter actually happened to me. *Sigh* Damn you, Match.com. You want a place in the middle of the cost spectrum and that's intimate yet low-key. A place that you can hold a conversation without feeling like have to shout so nearly deaf, Mrs. Simpson (Saved by the Bell) can hear you. Equally important is a place with good food and drinks. Nothing quite gets a date going as booze right? Remember to always follow Patti Stanger's rule of a two drink max or you may end up like Mr. NSS and I; we have no recollection of our first date other than the hangover we both had the next day. No bueno. Walking into 20 Spot, I immediately knew this would be THE perfect first date spot. Formerly a record store, 20 Spot has been transformed to small restaurant and wine bar with a contemporary vintage rock ambiance. There's just four 2-top tables, a communal table, and counter seats so do come early to snag a seat as it's a walk-in restaurant: http://bit.ly/1as0tzQ. You can also chill on one of their leather sofas and they even have a vintage rocking chair. Candles and soothing soul music really set the mood if you know what I mean. *Wink wink* Their New American menu is small and changes daily. There's less than 10 items on the menu excluding their cheese offerings and dessert. We sampled about half the menu and I have to say, I was very impressed (there were some slight misses though) because they don't have a real kitchen other than several appliances like an immersion circulator, a toaster oven and an induction burner. We started off with the Oysters ($3 each) which are a must order: http://bit.ly/1cYy5tr. They were like taking a bite of the fresh ocean breeze. Next, came the Hamachi ($15) served sashimi style: http://bit.ly/174WKYC. Although fresh, I felt some the combo of the leeks, preserved lemon, grapes, espelette overpowered the delicacy of the fish. But this is coming from someone who likes to eat her nigiri with just a dab of wasabi and soy. If you like smoked salmon, you must order their Deviled Eggs ($10) if it's available on the menu: http://bit.ly/1ioEzSn. It was deliciously creamy with a nice pop of saltiness from the cured salmon and roe. And because it's crab season, we couldn't miss the Spiced Potted Dungeness Crab ($18) served with warm toast points: http://bit.ly/1cYo4MQ. It was chockfull of freshly sweet crab meat with just a hint of creaminess from the crème fraiche and zip from the meyer lemon. Nothing sticks to your ribs like a hunk of braised meat and that's what we thought the Farro & Short Ribs ($18) would be but it was more like a porridge: http://bit.ly/1aVGNHk. It was still delicious especially with the decadent soft boiled egg with an oozing yolk and generous shaving of pecorino but I wish there was more short ribs. We ended dinner with the surprisingly and insanely divine Vanilla Panna Cotta ($7): http://bit.ly/1cYp97u. It was a tad stiff but once it hits your tongue, the silkiness was sublime. I adored all the vanilla bean flavor and soon found myself with an empty jar. *Sad pouty lip* In honor of hump day, I had two glasses of wine which the ladies at 20 Spot recommended; both were great. One offered me a tasting of Spanish wine to go with the faro and short ribs fish which was spectacular. I'm a total wine noob so I won't get into the nitty gritty details other than it gave me a good buzz. Two thumbs up from me. 20 Spot may be in hipsterville but there's not a bit of 'tude here. Service was wonderful. The ladies who waited on us were warm, attentive, and knew their sh*t. If I could take them to every restaurant I eat at, I would. As for parking, if the parking gods aren't kind to you, there's a garage 2 blocks away on 21st and Bartlett. Mr. NSS and I are well past our first date but 20 Spot made me feel like we were on a first date again...minus the WtfHappenedLastNight hangover.

Yelp
With all the 5 star reviews, I really expected better. My two girlfriends and I came here for dinner. Their menu is relatively small and changes daily. Their items are also meant for sharing. We ended up ordering 5 things. Della fattoria bread plate (2.5/5): 3 chunks of bread, butter, radish, and cucumbers. There was no excitement with this bread plate. ($5) Devilled eggs (3.5/5): The eggs were simple but tasty. The roe gave them a nice flavor. Was hoping that there would be more than just 4 eggs. Accompanied by mini pickles and cucumbers. ($10) Rainbow carrot salad (4/5): Rainbow carrots roasted and pureed in a salad. It was nice to try carrots that were prepared differently. ($13) Coconut milk ceviche (3/5): Served in a small bowl with tortilla rounds. Refreshing dish but not too many pieces of fish. ($15) Grilled octopus (3/5): Grilled octopus with potato and fennel. It was okay. More potato and fennel than octopus. ($18) Overall, an average meal. None of the items we had stood out. Also, the portions were tiny for sharing. Definitely not worth the price.

Yelp
Cute spot with bar seats, a couch, and lots of tables. I love their wine list. They had a beautiful riesling auslese. The food is pretty good too. The short rib was decent - the polenta was delicious. The deviled eggs were pretty good too.

Yelp
"CUTE" (4.25 stars) Wines that you cannot pronounce and are not from this country... are usually the best!!! -FOOD, yummy -PRICES, fair -SERVICE, good -AMBIANCE, "cute" That's the only way I can really describe this place... "cute". I think by the end of my review, you will hate the word "cute". It's an every Friday ritual. After a long week I require myself a quality cocktail or a nice glass of wine to welcome the weekend. The place looks like a tiny "cute" little house on the sidewide. The ambiance inside is very simple, "cute", and clean with very artsy and interesting decor. Bar stools, tables, and couches, great place to sit and relax. However, I may warn you - there is a regular who is really annoying. Talks your brains out and talks to whoever he can grab their attention. JUST IGNORE HIM and you will be fine, he'll get the point. HEIFER STATS. DELLA FATTORIA BREAD PLATE ($4) - butter, crunchy veggies, and maldon salt. LOTS OF BREAD, a slab of delicious cheese with maldon salt on top, and salty veggies. This is a great filler when drinking wine. The cheese is SALTY, a thin spread over the bread will go a long way. The raw veggies, I'm not a fan... Raw radish? Your breath will be kickin. Deviled Eggs ($10) - smoked salmon and trout roe. it was lovely and "cute". This was probably one of the best deviled eggs I've had. the whipped yolk was smooth like silk and creamy, the smoked salmon gave it an additional layer of flavor, and the trout roe added the salty factor. It also came with a side of pickled vegetables and cucumber. Not sure that was a great combination with the eggs. And the presentation was beautiful... just not the teal round dinner plate it was served on (i know, i'm so judgemental LOL). SANGUINETO SANGIOVESE/CANAIOLO MONTEPUCIANO 2011 ($14/glass) - where do i begin?! This WOW'd my face off. It was a very nice smooth red wine. I can go back for several glasses, heck... order a bottle!!!! I will say it is a creeper and it will hit moments after. I AM A FAN. Will I be back? YUP. JABA APPROVED. Until the next review...

Yelp
Definitely a fan of 20 Spot! I really like how everything is set up in the restaurant from the interior perspective. It's a dressy/casual spot and a great atmosphere with some intimate lighting. It's a perfect date spot too! Not just the food was great but the servers/hostess too! I ordered the Syrah blend wine which was great temperature! Two thumbs up for that! I ordered the deviled eggs which had a kick to it! The shaved asparagus and fennel salad was really refreshing and light. I enjoyed the cheese plate as well but I wish they had options of meat plate which they don't offer. Oysters were fresh and delicious!! I would also recommend getting the crab pot as well. I would definitely come back here again!
