The Hottest Coffee Shops to Check Out, November 2021

"203° Fahrenheit Coffee’s second location in South Lake Union is only a city inspection away from opening. Owner Alen Fikic has over 23 years of experience in coffee, including a stint as president of Zoka Coffee Roasters. Expect high quality, fairly-traded coffees at 203°, with an emphasis on excellence and simplicity. 203°’s first shop opened in Kirkland in 2019." - Mark Van Streefkerk, Gabe Guarente

New Cafe 203° Fahrenheit Coffee Will Open Imminently in South Lake Union’s Google Building - Eater Seattle

"203° Fahrenheit Coffee is set to open a new location in the Google building at 610 Boren Avenue North. The cafe, originally opened in Kirkland in March 2019, focuses on excellent customer service and outstanding coffee. Its popular offering is the medium roast Fitzroy Blend, featuring Central and South American beans for a chocolatey, molasses flavor. The new location in South Lake Union features a polished, minimal design with a white light ring over the bar area and a purple 203° sign at the entrance. It will offer grab-and-go items such as breakfast sandwiches, burritos, and pastries from Macrina Bakery. The opening is delayed pending city inspection approval." - Mark Van Streefkerk

Lovely coffee shop near Lake Union. Staff was very friendly, nice selection of coffee, tea, and more specialty drinks. Had the pour over Guatemala, so light and delicate with a nice floral note. Highly recommend this place if you are nearby, also the pour over machine was really fun to watch. Thanks for the java! 5/5 will be back again when in the area

Overall a nice coffee shop with friendly baristas. Coffee is ok. The seating area has a lot of power outlets but you won't sit here for long because most of the chairs are not the comfiest and you can't move them. There are three soft armchairs but two of them don't have access to an outlet (at least I couldn't find any).

I can see why their ube latte is popular! It was my first visit and I got recommended to try ube latte. Generally, I’m not a big fan of ube stuff because they’re too purple and cloyingly sweet, but this time, I felt like to drink something (slightly) sweet — and the outcome was totally unexpected in a good way. It was neither terribly sweet nor purple (I asked a half amount of syrup, though). It’s more likely to be a mocha latte but not chocolatey, deep earthy flavor with a chicory-ish smoky hint at the end. I loved it. It was a pleasant surprise. Definitely try again when I walk up to Lake Union. Inside is also lovely yellow tone and probably their matcha and mocha would be great. I feel it.

I’ve been to this café several times because the coffee is genuinely excellent—smooth, flavorful, and consistently well-made. I especially love their vegan breakfast sandwich—it’s hearty, filling, and perfect for starting the day. However, the service has been a recurring issue. On each visit, the barista has seemed noticeably irritated or disengaged, almost as if my order was an inconvenience. While I understand that everyone has off days, the attitude has been consistent enough to be worth mentioning. That said, I keep coming back for the quality of the coffee and the food. A little warmth or friendliness from the staff would go a long way in making the experience match the quality of the menu.

Best hazelnut latte in Seattle. Great location near Lake Union Park. Clean and inviting with a cool-vibe atmosphere. Nice outdoor seating with sunshine yellow table umbrellas.

One of the best coffee spots around! The vibe is always welcoming, and the coffee hits just right. I had a bit of a clumsy moment and spilled my drink, but Jess and Steph were incredibly kind—helped us clean up without making a fuss, and made the whole thing feel like no big deal. Really appreciated their warmth and how they handled it!

Nice, pleasing, and classy coffeeshop. Great roast on the coffee, nice and smooth. Mostly bar seating with one area for larger groups. A bench out front to enjoy your drink. Pastries along with lunch items for quick grab and go. They offer a large 16oz coffee which gets it done. Occasionally they have those running. Groups that take over the shop on the weekends after their run. Best to avoid as it gets packed and very loud.

I love coming to 203 in the morning right before starting my morning walk. I live right here and it is convenient and they make amazing 🤩 coffee. This review is feedback for the owners as you currently have this order ahead app nonsense all over the coffee shop. The barista who is alone in the AM can barely keep up with the line and now you want them to also do an order ahead. It is a ridiculous expectation you need to have more people for the morning rush if you expect that level of dual-service. Take care of your folks they are truly great. Cheers.
