Waited 50 minutes for the wrong food. Over easy egg with runny whites, and potatoes fried in oil so bad who knows when it was changed. They were fried for so long they crumbled to dust when you took a bite. The toast we got was warmed but not toasted, you can’t make this up. And somehow the waffle was gummy? Just gross all around. Honestly I’ve never sent food back at a restaurant but I sent the hash back and just left. My grapefruit juice was great though. The waiter didn’t check on us once besides ordering and delivering the food. Extremely disappointing especially when you don’t have time to find another spot to eat.

The one plus to this place... It's right across the way from Alaska gates in the airport. The chicken and waffles were horrible and for the price was even worse. Who knows when the grease has been changed or what. The chicken was dark, overcooked, nasty. So much so when I was done with the meal and the bartender/server saw all the nasty deep fry. He laughed and goes " oh, a little crispy today"--- ya think? We watched multiple people come in and not be greeted or serviced within a timely manor and left. While it seemed the only person working was the bartender. The two in the photo, started like this for roughly 15 minutes, this after sitting at a table for another 20 minutes with a cook from the back. Again, people were leaving because they were not getting service. My wife and I just chuckled while watching all of this, in shock.

Google
Convenient restaurant. We stopped in for breakfast. It was not good at all. I ordered a scrambled egg breakfast and the eggs came out looking sick and tasted sick. The sausage pattys were hard and flavorless. The potatoes were great. I expect a little more for the price — airport or not. On the plus side, service was fast and easy. It was quick to pay the check on the mobile app and get going.

Google
24 diner airport Service was fantastic. Very attentive, didnt miss a beat and very helpful. Typical airport pricing, but unusually for an airport, the portion size was huge. I had the hash and the potatoes were perfectly cooked, very nice and crispy. Meat was fresh, just a great dish. I think this will be my new go to in the airport.

I went with my son we were flying back to back wanted to enjoy some good food on a little layover my total was $27 for dry burger and rude service. The server didn't even speak one word to me and basically threw my food at me. I was trying to be nice but it was so rude

Google
What a mistake. After we ordered using. The QR code, we waited 20+ minutes for our food. We were seated right next to the pass and watched our food get cold, while it sat there for 10 minutes. Over easy eggs? Forget about it. My eggs were over hard and then some. Did anyone come by and check on us? Nope. The only interaction we had was when the brought said cold food. I will not make this mistake again. Hard pass.

Google
I was very happy to find the 24 Diner. I wanted a fresh brewed unsweetened iced tea (which is weirdly hard to find) they served it up with a smile. The staff, Mariana and Vandy were super-friendly, attentive and helpful.

Google
I think the waffle was made with pancake batter. It was soft and fell apart. It was odd. The coffee came with Carnation creamer as well. The server was nice.

Yelp
I had to catch an early flight but hadn't eaten breakfast yet, so I decided to stop by 24Diner. The ambiance was bright and welcoming. I sat at the bar and was greeted by Mariana. She was so nice and very knowledgeable. She helped me decide on my delicious meal and was always attentive. It was such a pleasant experience that I even grabbed a cocktail as early as it was haha. I'm not sure why there are so many bad reviews. I'd recommend this place, especially if Mariana is working!

Yelp
Worst airport restaurant i think ive been to. If you're stuck on a 2 hour layover or have a flight delay then maybe but still don't come. 30mins to get a burger, table QR codes don't work, so I had to ask to make my order. Then had to ask if someone was gonna help since no one was ever coming by, had to ask when I'm getting my food after 25min, had to go find the server so I can pay and get to my flight, then the guy had the audacity to make me come to him to give him my credit card behind the bar !? It's like they don't care these are people trying possibly catch flights, service is not a priority here and my fries were lukewarm. Oh and I got to watch all 5 servers chilling, laughing and having a grand ol time. Should be zero stars !!!

Yelp
ChatGBT suggested I try 24 Diner in Austin, tho I'm not sure the airport location was the best place to try. The ambiance was ok and expected of an airport, everything was clean. The service was a bit confusing, but it's open seating and you scan the QR code to order, even water. There were no refills or stop-by asking if we needed anything else, I guess we were supposed to order more water online too and we paid online after. I got the chicken and waffles - this chicken was deboned and was tiny next to the waffle, but it was juicy and flavorful. I also enjoyed the home style looking waffle and sweet cream butter on top - wasn't as thick as it looked on the chain's website. My friend enjoyed her burger, nothing special but solid. 3 star overall.

Yelp
We sat down for breakfast at AUS Airport on a Tuesday morning. The restaurant wasn't packed but they seemed understaffed. We had to wait 10 minutes for someone to greet us and find us a table for our group. Our waitress was great, she was attentive and was trying to get food out quickly. There was a delay in cooking the food, but our waitress mentioned there was a 30 minute wait to get food out and made sure that wasn't a problem before she put our order in. The food was actually pretty good, doesn't look great, but tasted better than you'd think by appearance! All in all the experience was good, we weren't in a rush so the delay wasn't a huge issue, it really helped that our waitress communicated the delay in food orders getting out, so we could decide prior to placing our order. She managed expectations really well.

Yelp
Stopped for brunch while bicycling around Austin. First positive, they had a convenient and secure bike rack - but I suppose everyplace in Austin has at least one spot for bikes. Seated almost immediately - early for lunch and very late for breakfast. I ordered Ice Tea, Water, and an omelet - well done. It came out just the way I like it, garnished liberally with fresh greens - again, I'm guessing everything in Austin tries to be healthy. The ice tea was surprisingly fresh, I asked and was told they brew it frequently to preserve the flavor. Thirsty from biking, I had three glasses of ice tea and a glass of water - all frequently refreshed by Andrew, the server. The place was convenient, moderately priced, and tasty. Thanks for a nice brunch.

Yelp
I went here at 10 o'clock on a Friday night. Plenty of seats available though old and very uncomfortable. Service was ok. The gentleman that seated us was nice. The server was very slow at the start and took for ever coming back to our table because she was at the front talking to the hostess. Food was good as I had chicken and waffles.

Yelp
Manage your expectations people, this is an airport. If you're looking for a place to sit and get buzzed on overpriced booze before you sit on a plane and get buzzed on overpriced booze: congratulations. You've accomplished your goal. Yours truly ordered a grilled cheese and fries because, let's be real, it's a reasonably safe bet for something that would be hard to screw up. It was good. Freshly made sandwich accompanied by hot, seasoned fries - nothing wrong with that. Service was fast and friendly. No complaints.

Yelp
Fast service is important at the airport. They told me 20 minutes for the burger. I asked if it would be 20 or might it be 30. "Won't be 30" At 40 minutes without my food, I cancelled and left. Felt bad for the bartender, but it's not his fault. Manager showed zero empathy or apology. At $19 for a burger, I was expecting some service. The kitchen and management are letting this place down.

Yelp
Nice atmosphere. Clean and bright. The menu was surprisingly brief and for having so few items I expected them to be a little better. The hashbrowns were cool and not crispy. There is no decaffeinated coffee available, which I would expect at any diner. The staff is incredibly friendly and really it is more of an airport bar than anything.

Richard L.

Yelp
We just had breakfast there and it was not good at all. Coffee was lukewarm. Only one choice for bread and it wasn't toasted properly. The waffle came with a butter that was seasoned and ruined the waffle.

Yelp
Wanted to do a sit down restaurant but this place was not it... 1-star is as low as I could go. FOOD: Didn't get to try the food as the waiter never came to help me even though I was sitting there for over 15 minutes. SERVICE: Sign by the front says to sit down and that a waiter will be there shortly. I found an empty table that still had a dirty plate from the previous customer but I figured I should take it before it was unavailable. The table has a QR code to order online but when I was ready to checkout it gave me an error saying to ask for the server. 15 minutes after I sat down and was repeatedly ignored by the server I was finally able to flag him down. I asked if I could order, to which he answered, "this table is still dirty and it is not ready. Find a table that's ready." I remained at the table assuming he would come back to take away this ONE plate so that I could order, but he never did. I waited another 10 min and then decided to leave. LOCATION: Great location inside the Austin airport. NOTEWORTHY: A joke of a "diner". No respect for potential customers. Not a place that deserves your business.

Yelp
We were 2 hours early for our flight and my teenager chose this place because he saw chicken and waffles on the menu. The only chicken you can get is a breast, he usually gets a wing or a leg but he ordered it anyways and thought the chicken breast was really good, and seasoned. The waffle on the other hand came out a little burnt on the edges but they so kindly replaced it and it was good. I ordered the 24 hash with no meat and scrambled eggs. It was a huge helping I barely put a dent in it but it was good and seasoned. Service here was good, it wasn't crowded or anything about 7 patrons. I would eat here again before a flight.

Yelp
As I have said in previous posts.. when you are at an airport you need to adjust your expectations. Went here for a quick breakfast before a flight...service was good and deserves more stars than the food... the breakfast plate which is eggs, bacon, toast, home fries is pretty pricey for what you get.. the toast is one piece of bread cut in half so they count it as 2 pieces of toast (it's not) the scrambled eggs will be about 1.5 eggs worth not 2 or 3 like you might be expecting. Again.. service was good just the portions are small.

Yelp
Sat down at a booth and wanted to order a soda and a water before ordering food. My girlfriend had wanted to eat something but had gone to the bathroom as we had just got through TSA. I tried to use the scan to order system but it didn't work so I waited for a server who immediately was rude from the first word out of his mouth. The scan to order page said to speak to a server when I tried to order and instead of taking my order or even saying hello our server barked at me to open the app and try again and got mad when I wasn't doing it fast enough and acted like I was inconveniencing him despite me explaining I tried to use the scan to order system several times. He then asked if we planned to order any food and cut me off while I was trying to speak to say in the most condescending tone that we can't just order a soda and water and take up a whole booth, mind you there were open booths and plenty of table seating open (and no signs stating this rule). I proceeded to say that my girlfriend had gone to the bathroom and I personally didn't want any food but she probably would order. He then scoffed at me and walked away. She came back and I went to use the bathroom and when I came back he hadn't helped her at all and was just standing by the soda machine refusing to give us our drinks unless we ordered food. He came back and in a snotty tone asked if we had picked out food and we at that point decided to just leave and order from a different restaurant. The irony is my girlfriend wanted food, but after that experience we didn't want to stay there. I feel like it's important to note again that there was no sign saying there's a minimum order or that you can only order food not drinks or if you just order drinks they have to be alcoholic. Despite our experience, the server, who was white man and I'd guess in his late 20s to mid 30s, didn't appear to be treating everyone the way we were treated, which makes me feel like it could be a homophobic or misogynistic reason why he was so rude. There were also people sat at tables who were with no food or drinks and didn't appear to be ordering but they might have had the pleasure of not being in our server's section. If you ever have a similar experience I'd recommend heading over to the restaurant parkside instead, where (at least in our experience) the servers are friendly and the food is good.

Yelp
1 server, about 20 tables. Possibly the slowest meal I have ever had at an airport (I'm in multiple airports a month)

Glenna H.

Yelp
My debit card was hacked after I used it there on 081824. I could identify the waitress who processed my payment. She was not my actual server, but the hostess said I was required to give that person my card for processing. I paid a cash tip to the woman who did serve me and noted that on my payment slip. I would like to hear from the manager of this establishment immediately. 0 stars for this establishment that employs a credit card hacker.

Yelp
Food was great, service was pretty terrible. We were told to scan the QR code for the menu, then order there or wait for the server. We chose to wait for the server. He eventually arrived and seemed pissed that we hadn't already ordered. He was rude, the bar tender was rude, and I won't be returning. There are many other options at this airport with polite staff.
google avatar

Dusty N.

Yelp
Nothing like the real 24 Diner.. it's just a generic airport diner who slaps together prepared foods from Sysco. It's perfectly fine for an airport.. but it feels like a cheap bait and switch when you know just how good the real 24 Diner is.
google avatar

Yelp
Absolutely the worst service ever! I do not recommend this place. You'll just be sitting around and ignored by the staff. No sense of customer service whatsoever. Disappointing.

Yelp
Better than I expected With time to kill before our connecting flight we looked for a sit-down restaurant and found the 24 Diner. Not a fancy place but they have table service. Ordering and paying can be done online using a QR code at the table, or in our case, a server came over and took our order. I suppose tips are better with a more personal touch, the QR code good for speed and less interaction because of Covid. I ordered their Cheeseburger, which came with fries. The food was surprisingly very good, the burger thick and not dry, the fries seasoned. We received excellent service with multiple drink refills. When our server circled back as we were finishing, I told him the food was better than I expected. His insightful reply was when people see the high price, they say the food better be good, and when they eat it, they say yeah, it was. We paid using the QR code and that was easy. With so many places closed right now at the airport, we felt lucky we found and got in at 24 Diner.
google avatar

Liz M.

Yelp
They had a very limited menu and the burger was very unseasoned. The waiter was fast and it is an airport location. Great thing is they had live music.

Yelp
Holy garbage service. I was traveling with my 4 year old nephew and had nobody ask us for anything for a good 20 minutes. Went up to the bar to order and was told my server would be right with us... I'm a little bummed we came here. Overpriced food and beer for the service we got. Our server was apparently not happy to even serve us, as he seemed annoyed with anything we said. His manager tacked an extra 50 onto our bill and I called it out. So disappointing. I'll be sure to NOT ever recommend this "diner" to people. Rarely do I not tip at all, but this was one deserving of no tip. Tell your servers to leave their crappy days at the door. Horrible.

Yelp
It's Sunday morning and not terribly busy. We were waiting at a gate nearby and watched several people wait at the order-here desk. Not one employee would approach or even make eye contact. The only way they would seat you or take your order was if you walked all the way into the restaurant and forced the person working at the bar to acknowledge you. The food to go took over 30 minutes to come out and they were not busy. Fortunately the food and coffee were hot and plentiful.

Rosa G.

Yelp
Service fantastic. Pink haired guy was wonderful. Hash was amazing. However chicken and waffle should be chicken thigh or brined.
google avatar

Brett J.

Yelp
Very few spots are open in the Austin airport anymore. It was kind of weird... for the first time traveling in over a year it felt very odd. This was one of the few spots open... it was good to see that they were immediately wiping down and disinfecting the moment someone left. The place has a very limited menu, but the beer is COLD! The fries were hot... and they were open. Truly nothing special... but it was good to be able to get a beer.

Yelp
I'm giving 5 stars ...although I'm just drinking (for now)... James has been grinding since I got here taking care of a full car of demanding, thirsty/hungry pre-flight passengers. There is a large part of the diner that isn't being seated ...I think more due to staffing than COVID-y type restrictions. Great job caring for the full bar James - give that man a raise!

Kayla G.

Yelp
Mariana was amazing ! During my airport struggles she was able to bring her kind spirited attitude to change my day around. I wasn't extremely hungry but the eggs and home fries solved my problem. If you show up to the airport too early please make your way to 24 Diner and see Mariana. She will change your whole day around !!!

Yelp
One of the slowest services I have ever received. I had a flight to catch and the server had me put in a QR code request that didn't go through then refused to take my order except through the QR code that eventually worked. I ended up getting the coffee I ordered about 25 minutes later and had to leave for the airport. I preemptively paid for the meal and never ended up getting it. 10/10 would not recommend.

Yelp
24 Diner is a fairly new addition to Austin-Bergstrom International Airport. It's located post security, down near Gate 11. I sauntered in one morning - a few hours before my flight - for breakfast. Ended up ordering the Sweet Potato Hash: roasted sweet potatoes, sausage, and Monterey Jack cheese - topped with two eggs over easy. Plus a cup of coffee. The hash was very good - but the portion was to large for me to finish. Coffee was pretty decent for Airport diner grade coffee. Service was also good - the only thing I will ding them on - $24 for breakfast - is a bit on the steep side. #24Diner

Yelp
Had about an hour to spare so thought I went to a sit down place to get some food. The line outside to get seated doesn't really function as the staffs won't seat you, you just have to find your own spot and flag someone down for a menu. I ended up only having 10mins to scruff down my food before I had to leave because it took so long and the food wasn't even good for the wait. No service what's so ever and the thin waitress with braids threw down my card when I get the check back, what a joke.

Yelp
Came in at closing time on Xmas day. Workers were still very patience and courteous. Shout out to the gentlemen in red suit. Very accompanying.

Yelp
I wish I can leave a 0 star. Let's be blunt y'all suck and all of you guys that worked on July 16th at 1:30 staff are plain rude and I've never ever experience service like that before . We stood there and bartender didn't even acknowledge me and when we asked if it was open seating he said . Yeap . Like you couldn't have told me ? Very unwelcoming . Y'all look like y'all don't need customers . I'm sitting at park side where the service is great and I'm being acknowledge . Byeeeeeee Austin

Oliver C.

Yelp
The purple haired waiter repeatedly scolded my girlfriend and me, first for sitting down at a booth that we didn't realize hadn't been fully cleaned (you seat yourself at this restaurant) and then for daring to pick up a menu to look over while we waited for our table. I told him he needed to speak more courteously to customers, he became completely untethered and threatened to call security. Never had an experience like this before at a restaurant. I can't speak for the restaurant as a whole, but this waiter is nuts and does not belong in the service industry.
google avatar

Yelp
This place had the most unbelievable burgers. We had a Patty melt and it was so good. The meat was so flavorful and fresh I think it's Chuck and brisket mix together. The service was super awesome. Very attentive!

Yelp
Let's be real, it's hard to find decent food in the airport. I came with my colleagues and had a GRILLED CHEESE SANDWICH with FRIES. It was what I expected, it wasn't tiny, and I still enjoyed it. ENJOY!

Yelp
This is probably the worst "service" i have ever seen from any establishment. I had roughly 90 minutes before a flight, so i decided to find a restaurant to eat at. I found this diner and asked if they had any tables open. The host just pointed in the direction and said find any table. Once there i attempted to order food through their QR code but was not able to because their app was not working. I asked the friendly people next to me and they all had the same issue. They had to have their orders taken by a server. So I tried to flag down several servers and hosts over the next 20 minutes. They all saw me raise my hand or heard me but turned a blind eye. Even the table next to me was laughing at the fact that they clearly ignoring me. When a server finally got to me, they looked at the app and said something along the lines of "I'll open it up," however they never came back to take my order or check in on me. After wasting another 15 minutes I got up and left as it clear that people that came after me started receiving drinks or food and at the very least, the courtesy of a server checking in on them. I am not sure what the issue was, if it was my attire(travel backpack and tshirt), while everyone else was in business attire and suitcases. Or something else. If i was smart enough, i would have checked reviews ahead of time, but i took a chance at the modern aesthetic and food. lesson learned

Yelp
I wish I'd a read the reviews before coming here. Not sure how you f* up a potato hash but they did. It was dry as shit ‍ not sure why but my server was nice but not nice like she had an attitude but still addressed me yes ma'am no ma'am. I'm southern so I do that anyways but I know when it's with an attitude anywho, on to the Bartender... GARBAGE. Now, I could of ordered a double but why? So you can make it taste like my single? Either way. My cup was filled w/tonic water and ice. Hell I don't even know if vodka was even in the damn drink. Either way, it sucks being hungry and trapped at the damn airports w/these trash ass over priced airports. EAT BEFORE YOU ARRIVE or stick to what you know. MCDONALDS ‍ at least if it's trash you already was expecting it cuz it's McDonalds. ‍

Yelp
Unfortunately this restaurant is part of the HMS Host conglomerate which owns over half of airport restaurants and no longer actually cares about customer service. We ate here today at the Austin airport and the drinks, food and service were terrible. Paying $15 for a grilled cheese that is barely cooked is not acceptable. Paying $20 for a vodka soda is not acceptable. Paying $15 for fries that were clearly microwaved is not acceptable! The bartender, Oleg is the most apathetic person I have ever met. Not only did he not know how to make basic drinks like a flavored martini ... His drinks were overpoured and tasted terrible!! When he asked how things were and we let him know we were unhappy, he literally told me "I don't care about your problems" .. Oleg, if you work for me you would have been fired the minute you opened your mouth, but again this is the problem with large conglomerates like HMS Host because they are so large they don't have to care. But most people will not even read this post ... let alone let it dissuade you from taking your hard-earned money to these people. When will we learn? As long as people continue to spend money at these asinine prices and allow employees to make $20 an hour who don't even care if they have a job, nothing will change.

Zach B.

Yelp
Actually some of the worst service I've ever seen. 3 dudes working there, not one of them takes your order but luckily they're there to let you know you can use your phone to order off a list of confusing bland food. I sent two dishes back because it was cooked like a cafeteria but costed 16 dollars. Got one drink in an hour and a half. Thank God they have a -bar- that people can go up to and order off their phones even while sitting at the bar. So so so terrible

Yelp
This was my first (and last) time to try the 24Diner in the airport. We love the one downtown which has great, fresh food. This one is like some neglected distant relation. For breakfast, I had two scrambled eggs, two pieces of bacon, and some dried out home fries (I declined the toast) for $17. The quality is what you would expect in an institutional cafeteria but maybe worse. And come on 24Diner folks - there no excuse for all the disposable stuff we were served. Water in plastic cups, coffee in paper cups (doubled up for extra waste!) and plastic utensils in plastic wrap. You can do better. On the plus side our server was nice and efficient and gave us real utensils when we asked. Plus the space was nice and not that crowded (maybe because no one likes the food).
google avatar

Francis C.

Yelp
OK maybe it's more like four stars (or three?) but I feel like I have to inflate my rating based on the customer service being so good. And also since it is in an airport. And some reviews saying it's so horrible. I interacted with a couple of servers they were very nice and did a good job. More importantly when one of the customers left the bag behind I informed the waitress who ran down the hallway to bring him the suitcase. That's pretty good service! The burgers are juicy and the fries are very good. I would recommend if you don't want a burger you might go somewhere else. But the burgers are worth having. Good airport food.

Yelp
ABIA continues to add great local businesses post-security. This 24 Diner location has the same excellent service ice and menu as the N Lamar location, and is a really nice alternative to typical airport fare. Definitely worth the walk down to Gate 11 for a bite!

Mignon F.

Yelp
I have never left a zero tip, but today was the day. Waited to be seated over 20 minutes. Once seated had to ask for menu 15 minutes. Ordered food, requested items not avail, ok. Coffee arrived, no creamer, no sugar, was not ordered black. Had to beg cream from adjacent customer. Toast with no jam/jelly. Potatoes which took place of waffle (machine broken) cold, old, scary looking. Server seemed annoyed..I asked for check, never came. Stood at counter, wait person finally noticed. Took my credit card without showing me bill... Oy vey... not good from start to finish. Keep in mind, I'm at airport, will be flying out soon. Don't eat here unless you wish to be ignored, receive substandard food, pay too much and be treated like a burden.. if you are looking for the above, do eat here.

W W.

Yelp
Bad customer service and bland food. I was repeatedly shouted at by someone across the room to do something rather than them taking the extra 40 seconds to walk around the bar and talk to me like a human being. It was even more awkward as I had really large visible headphones on. I had a burger and fries. They didn't provide nearly enough ketchup and the burger was meh. Try to find another spot in the airport this one isn't run well

Yelp
Worst service of my life. Not because they were out of supply (totally understandable) but because how our waitress/staff handled it. Our waitress was a skinny African American with braids put up in a bun. The rudest/worst waitress of my life. Total attitude right when we sat down. Kept walking off as we were asking questions about alcohol beverages, even while my wife was mid ordering!! Didn't get our food for 40 mins and saw it sitting in counter. Couldn't get anyone, got up and we walked out. No food. Went next door to get pizza. Never got an apology when we ordered something and they didn't have it. Mojito? No mint. With the worst attitude. That's it. Never acknowledged our existence. Learn some customer service. We all have jobs, we all short staffed, out of supply.

Yelp
I had great experiences at the location in the city. I figured this would be a solid stop before taking off to go back home. Boy was I wrong. I got the chicken and waffles. For 15$ I got half a waffle with a small piece of chicken. A scoop of what I imagine was whatever they use to grease the griddle was plopped on top of the waffle ... it was absolutely not butter. It was terrible. There was zero interaction with servers. Had to get my own utensils and go to the bar to ask for the coffee I ordered. Extremely disappointed. I should have gone to McDonald's.

Yelp
I should have looked at the reviews before coming here.. but to summarize my experience: - bad customer service - very dirty, the floors/tables/condiments are sticky - smells really bad by the table near the kitchen - food barely passes "ok"

Yelp
Good, fast service. If you order the breakfast platter, note that you get a half of waffle that is not fresh made, but frozen and reheated. Other than that, the eggs, bacon, and toast were excellent.

Yelp
Waited for 10 minutes at the counter and no one ever came to help me. I tried getting the attention of one of the bartenders and she said someone would come, but nope. That's not acceptable anywhere, and especially unacceptable at an airport terminal food establishment, where most customers are in a rush to get to their flight.
