I came to Morgan's during restaurant week, and I was really impressed! For $30, their prix fixe menu was totally worth it--such a great deal considering the quality. The meat was the star of the show: flavorful, tender, and cooked to perfection. The smoky depth and seasoning were spot-on, and it paired well with the sides. I loved their mac & cheese, which complemented the BBQ nicely. The atmosphere was chill, service was friendly, and the portions were generous. If you're craving good BBQ at a solid price, this place is definitely worth checking out. I'd be back for sure!

Good barbecue can be extremely difficult to find in New York City--especially in Brooklyn--but trust this Southerner: Morgan's Barbecue is a place that comes close to satisfying those cravings. I love they have such a simple menu with so much variation. It's very reminiscent of my upbringing going to the neighborhood 'pig joint.' If I'm just moderately hungry, I get the pulled pork sandwich with fries. But the last two times I went, one visit just yesterday, I was starving. So The Holy Trinity Platter (brisket, pork ribs, house-smoked sausage, and cornbread), all perfectly cooked to perfection, was calling my name. Whatever my degree of hunger is, though, I always get the mac and cheese. That's never optional. Morgan's is sort of a hybrid. It has a sports bar feel, with flat screens around the main bar, but it also has that down-home feel that is familiar and comforting. It has never been too busy when I have gone, although I will say I've never gone on game days, so that may be a different experience altogether. But whether inside or outside on a nice day, I have never had a bad experience. And I also have to shoutout the drinks! You can satisfy all your bourbon and whiskey needs as their selections seems endless. The cocktails are great, as well. On my last visit, I nearly OD'ed on the Texas Two-Step (bourbon, sweet tea, lemon). I lost count how many I had, but be forewarned, they're dangerous. You can hardly taste the bourbon in that perfectly crafted drink-but I can assure you, it's in there. Ha.

We came for a late dinner and the food and service was phenomenal. The ribs were really good. I highly recommend the pork belly!

BBQ options are scare 'round these parts but Morgan's is a really good option for your BBQ fix. I'll preface by saying I've had great BBQ in Memphis, TN, Kansas City, MO and Austin, TX and haven't found much that compares in NYC. However, I tried the lean brisket is quite tasty and definitely satisfied my craving. Let me pause on this cornbread. One of the best cornbreads (+whipped honey butter) I have ever had. It was almost chewy in texture, very sweet and dense. Lots of sweet corn flavor. If that description appealed to you, do not hesitate on the cornbread.

I came for their $30 dinner three-course Restaurant Week promo. Decent food, recommend the wings and juicy chicken with that spicy green sauce. Fall-off-the-bone ribs, but needed more flavor. Spicy BBQ sauce was a hit! Drinks were solid, but the mac and cheese didn't impress. We had *Frito Chili Pie *Smoked Bbq Wings *Smoked Half Chicken w/Mac and Cheese and coleslaw *Pork Rib Platter with grilled corn and Mac and Cheese * Flatbush Fizz ( vodka, Straw Jam, Basil, Lemon Juice, Simple Syrup and Sparkling Rose *Texas Two Step (Whiskey, Sweet Tea and Lemon) *Prospect Punch *Key Lime Pie *Chocolate Brownie That Flatbush fizz was so good. Very refreshing and the flavors were well-balanced. I also enjoyed my Texas two-step . And the prospect punch is very similar to a rum punch. FSummer happy hour, their drinks are half off cocktails and they also have outdoor dining.

Morgan's doesn't miss. The candied bacon is crazy. I had the chicken sandwich, good size, juicy. Service was on point. Nothing super fancy about the place, it's a BBQ, it shouldn't be. The bathroom is hot as hell though.

I usually am not a huge fan of bbq food but I loved this place! I went during restaurant week last night with a friend. Funny story, our reservation was at 7:30pm and the waiter was cool enough to let me wait while my friend found parking for 38 minutes!!! It's a cute place and nice vibes. The restaurant week lunch & dinner special was $30 with a starter, main, and dessert. I got the pork ribs platter which came with mac & cheese and corn, their special drink, the banana pudding desert with butter pecan ice cream, and my friend and i shared the nachos & sausage. SOOOO DELICIOUS! a fatty meal once in a while is good for the soul!!!! can't wait to heat up my leftovers.

Decent BBQ by NYC standards. We tried: Buffalo wings- good, though wish there was more of a smoky flavor. This goes for all their meats tbh Pork ribs- a tad leaner than I prefer, but had the right amount of bite Pork belly- liked how they crisped this up on the griddle before serving Fatty brisket- solid Pastrami beef rib- definitely the best thing out of everything we got. Tender and very flavorful from the pastrami brine. Highly recommended. My favorite BBQ spots in Brooklyn are still Hometown and Bark, but this is a solid spot to add to the rotation.

Grand opening, grand closing. Been meaning to try this place for a while now and now that I have I can honestly say it wasn't worth it. Ordered pickup and when I arrived to pickup the staff wasn't friendly at all plus it was damn near empty in there on a Saturday afternoon. That should've told me to abort mission lol. Ok so let's jump into the food, I ordered a lot cause remember I've been wanting to try this place for years. I got fatty brisket, pulled pork, half rack of each kind of ribs. The meats are what they are, brisket is tender but lacks flavor. Bbq sauce helps with that. Pulled pork, same thing. The naked ribs are ok, but again the glazed are more flavorful. It's almost as if they don't season their meats before putting them in the smoker, assuming they use one. The one star I did give was due to the tenderness of the meat so they weren't a complete lost cause. Now for the sides. Lord have mercy. None of the sides I got were worth a damn. The collards had no seasoning, mac and cheese was literally just that, macaroni with a "cheese sauce" and cheese on top. No type of seasoning. The simmered pinto beans were ok but not what I was expecting. I was expecting baked beans and ended up with beans from chipotle. The cornbread was an absolute joke. Dense, chewy and lacking flavor. I wouldn't wish this cornbread on anyone. NYC is not known for its bbq and with places like this I can see why. Surprised they're still in business if I'm being completely honest. Oh also, where they're located isn't ideal. Venture in at your own risk.

SOLID TEXAS STYLE BBQ IN BROOKLYN I am a fan of smoky BBQ with lots of flavor present without the need for sauce. This is the exact reason that I'm a fan of Morgan's and they also fan other positives such as: 1) Their brisket is delicious and they sell it in lean vs fatty cuts. I usually get the fatty brisket because it's more moist. 2) Their sides are all so tasty and flavorful. My go-to sides are Old School Mac & Collard Greens. I seldom get their other types of Mac but I'm glad they offer them because they are good as well if you want something different. 3) The rustic decor is perfect for their cuisine. It's casual enough for me to feel comfortable eating with my hands. 4) The service is good and friendly. The food comes out pretty fast. 5) They offer Beef Ribs which are slab style but oh so tender. Order early because it often sells out. 6) I have had their Key Lime Pie which was good and zesty but I want to try more of their desserts like the Fried Oreos. When on Flatbush and craving legit BBQ, definitely stop in and get some from here. The food is just as good at the restaurant as it is to-go.

Morgan's is a solid go-to for barbecue and for a comfortable bar in a terrific setting. Morgan's food on our most recent visit was good to very good, with the Chips and Queso appetizer a stand-out; not your Dallas Rotel stuff! A half-rack of ribs was plenty for the two of us; the cole slaw was very good; the smoked kielbasa sausage was very good; we appreciated an all meat sausage. A lot of barbecues serve sausages with cheese and jalapeno stuffing. Cornbread rounds out our order. On the boozy side, we drank a Frozen Bourbon Lemonade and a Smoky Margarita. We'll go again. The prices are in-line with other barbecues and the neighborhood. Morgan's Barbecue delivers a solid burger experience with tasty, juicy patties and a nice char. The atmosphere is laid-back and inviting, perfect for a casual meal. However, the service was slightly slower than expected, which held it back a bit. Overall, a satisfying meal that hits the spot, just not quite perfect!

My girlfriend and I went here for restaurant week, and I have to say, this spot was well worth the trip from Queens. The price of the full meal for restaurant week was only $30 a person! Not bad for the quality of the food. Plus, the staff was very attentive, and the ambiance definitely gave the Texas BBQ vibe. Morgan's is definitely one of the best BBQ spots I've been to since moving away from Texas. That said, I have only one complaint. The banana bread pudding was not to my taste. Which was very disappointing, because regular banana pudding is one of my all time favorite desserts. The bread pudding was really dense, and a bit hard to chew. Kinda felt rubbery. To be fair, my girlfriend thoroughly enjoyed it. So, it's mostly just a personal preference thing. All in all, I'd very much recommend Morgan's for a nice dinner or date night out in Brooklyn.

Had a great time at morgan's bbq! I got to try the restaurant week deal which was a ton of food for only $30. The restaurant is big, with plenty of seating out front, or inside. It has a wood, industrial lighting vibe thats moody and grown up. Service was great, and the waiter offered recs and was happy to help. I ordered the naked wings and added the bbq sauce on the side. The sauce is amazing, and i kept adding more to each bite. The wings were also great, fresh, crispy, and seasoned. A favorite for sure. I then got the pork ribs, corn and mac n cheese. The mac n cheese is okay, very cheesy but a little bland (but im not a big macncheese fan). The corn was juicy, sweet, and smokey. The ribs were so tender, fall off the bone, and perfect with the bbq sauce. I wish they were jucier, but still a good meal. The key lime pie was a great end, citrusy and sweet to cut everything else. This is a great spot for drinks/brunch or any other time.

Pretty good bbq, the ribs were my personal fav but the brisket was tough. The colors and beans needed more flavor too. However, seasonal apple pie was fantastic! Great mock tails too

I ordered a half brisket from Goldbelly and it was awful. It was dry like shoe leather.

First time coming here and it was ok. Don't know about returning. The food was good. No complaints about the holy trinity meal. The meat wasn't dry at all. That sausage was delicious. The only thing I can say is, our waiter was lacking attention. He was just rushing us to order a second we sat down without giving us time to look thru the menu. And he forgot our drinks and we had to ask another waiter and that waiter got our drinks quick. I wish we had him serving us instead.

Okay now this place, the service was really good. My friend and I were attended to quickly. Check ins were on point and efficient. I would say, they can update the looks of the inside. It doesn't look too appealing from outside, especially being a focal point in the area. I feel a renovation inside would give the place more of a pop. The food was pretty good. I enjoyed the mac & cheese, I felt it was made to perfection. I love the crisp they made on top. The drinks I feel were a bit on the bitter side, but from the looks it was appealing. The platter however was a little dissatisfying.. The pork ribs were good, but could be more tender. The use of more flavor would've made it better. The brisket I feel was a bit too dry, I didn't like that it lacked the moisture. The sausage was like expected but the cornbread was not good at all. It was dry, no flavor and was just overall bland. I have heard great things about their burnt end tips. Unfortunately they were sold out, so I guess that is their staple. Overall for soul food bbq, this wasn't the one for me. I give it a 4 out of 10

Good location! Not too far from Downtown Brooklyn. I loved the choice of seating. There are picnic tables, tall tables, bar seating, regular seating and I think I saw a booth in the back. The music was also good. The music was upbeat and sing along type music. The brisket nachos and the collard greens were my favorite. There were nice chunks of brisket and there were yummy pinto beans also in the layering of the nachos. The collards were flavorful and cooked like I like. I was disappointed with the wings. I ordered naked so that I could taste the chicken. I thought they were supposed to be smoked and I asked but then I looked on menu and they are NOT listed under "smoker". The cornbread was also OK. I would definitely recommend and come back for the nachos and collard green. Our waiter Amy was also great!

The atmosphere was awesome there was great drinks , food was off the radar and don't forget great music as well gave place an awesome vibe .Holy trinity was delicious from the buttery cornball to the delicious Mac cheese and plenty of bacon , ribs came off the bone, brisket was juicy and soft , sausage was juicy and delicious with a smoked taste I'll definitely come again to try some other dishes (PS did your find a Mets hat in restroom ??)

Just an update of the best brisket in my eyes in Brooklyn they have beef ribs as well when u catch it pricey BUT WORTH IT I'm sure the pic says it all

Another successful restaurant week visit at an amazing location. Being from Florida, having lived in Texas and spent much time in North Carolina..I know good barbecue. I was not disappointed. The service was quick and efficient and the place has a sexy ambiance. The Instagram page did not disappoint and I'm glad I gave it a chance. I highly recommend. I vote for adding boudin to the menu. lol

Surprisingly good BBQ pork ribs are great and tender, the old fashioned mac and cheese not bad , but not mine key lime pie not that great will order from here again ribs tasty and portions are reasonable.

Excellent all around - the food was terrific as was the service. Shout out to Eddie and George - both excellent. The place is comfortable, friendly and inviting - the owners are frequently sitting at the bar welcoming people and making sure they're comfortable. Really Brooklyn's best bbq and a great place to spend an evening.....

I went here with a large group a while back. The service was alright and so was the food. As it's not possible to get 1/4 pound of meat and I frankly did not want to pay $26 for half a pound of brisket, I went begrudgingly with the Holy Trinity with brisket, pork ribs, house smoked sausage, and slices of cornbread which was $41 which unfortunately doesn't come with sides so I went with the coleslaw which is rather absurdly priced at $8. The platter was large of course but it better be for the price. The brisket which I chose fatty of course was alright. The fat was rendered down well but I couldn't taste the smoke that much. The color was nice so I'm curious whether they're using liquid smoke or something to make it look nice. Nicely tender but just alright. The ribs were on the dry end and could have used a bit more flavor with the barbecue sauce almost being necessary. The sausage was actually pretty good not being dry like some other reviews but again it was a single sausage. The cornbread had a good texture while the coleslaw was bland and watery. There was also a pickle on the bottom which was fine. Another person had the mac and cheese which they enjoyed. Overall I found the food pretty mediocre. The prices are very high and the quality just isn't that good with the majority of the meat being dry. For higher end BBQ, Fette Sau is just better and the brisket was worse than Mighty Quinn's which really isn't saying much and the side was terrible. I understand it being a bit expensive in that area but at least make the quality good if you're going to be charging exorbitant prices. Low 2.

Great place. Loved the delicious food and the amazing service. We had smoked brisket with eggs, sweet tea, and chopped brisket sandwich. I'm not much on atmosphere, but I actually loved the ambience of the place. Down to earth. My kind of place. If we lived in the neighborhood we'd be regulars.

I was in such a mood for BBQ and we ended up at Morgan's. Our date became a tumultuous one as it poured heavily from a sunny and beautiful day. But we finally made it to Morgans. I had the BBQ pulled pork sandwich (see pictures) and the Bacon Mac n' Cheese. The Bacon Mac n' Cheese was a delight. It was piping hot and super cheesy--just like I like it. The cheese oozed, stringy and delicious. It was perfectly cooked and well balance between burnt, hot and tasty, completely made the way I truly enjoy a Mac n Cheese (to my taste). It had been a while since I ate it this way. It was a truly delicious. The BBQ Pulled Pork was tasty and I was able to add all the bbq of my liking. It was very tasty. The bun was soft too. Yummy. I will go again and try something else to give a different review. I will def do again. As for my date he had a Philly cheese steak and fries and he said it was very good. That was his words as I had a fill of my food I did not get it taste the Philly cheese steak or take some of his fries as I was busy with my own food. Great food and great service. And before I forget. Our waiter was very nice, friendly and super attentive to our needs such as; refilling our waters, making sure we were enjoying our food and if we needed anything else.

Excellent barbecue, casual, close to Barclays Center. The chopped brisket and pulled pork were well seasoned! There are a lot of Mac and Cheese dishes on the menu as well.

Restaurant Week 2024 Smoked Chicken Wings (4 out of 5) Tossed in mango habanero sauce a hit of a kick but not unbearable Smoke Prime Rib (4 out of 5) cooked medium rare, tender and moist, served with Mashed potatoes and Au Jus Chocolate Brownie (5 out of 5) warm and soft, great with the cold vanilla ice cream Overall I give it a solid 8. Located a few blocks from Barclays Center. Our server Nina was excellent. Will be back again

Delicious BBQ. We had the pastrami brisket, baby back ribs. Side order of collar greens and Mac and cheese. All were very good. The ribs were falling off the bone and we got the last pastrami brisket. Shows how good that was. Attentive service. Will definitely be back.

Came in on a Tuesday night and the place was actually not very packed which I thought was kind of nice. The ambiance was great, the music was not too loud and the staff were super accommodating. They definitely took their time making sure my boyfriend and I were alright and were super patient with us given that it was our first time there. We got the brisket nachos to start and that already was delicious and the portion was hefty! Food was great. The only thing that was a little off was the queso fries. I didn't expect it to be fries with queso in a container, but it was alright. Overall, I highly recommend the place to anyone that's looking for a fun night out with friends and some decent bbq.

Came here for a quick drink and watched sunday football before my flight out of JFK. Cool vibe to watch football, food looked good but didn't have time to eat. However, their frozen lemonade infused with Maker's came in a giant glass and was 20 bucks. So compared to bars that charge $20 for a regular cocktail these guys definitely give you your money's worth. As a guy from Texas originally would love to come back here and try their BBQ next time I'm here in NYC. saw a lot of people eating it and they looked like they were enjoying it

Let's see.. the last time I had really great BBQ in NYC was Tennessee Mountain in Soho. ( yes a blast from the past). TM served delicious BBQ chicken, ribs, best sauce which they sold and delicious corn bread. Even the decor was homey and comfortable with even great service. Then.. sadly.. it closed. I've tried Blue Smoke and several other BBQ joints located on Park Avenue South. All were just okay.. Then I was dining at Tiny's Cantina last year, and they mentioned Morgans BBQ and the devastating fire it went through. ( Morgan's owns Tiny's Cantina). TC was cooking BBQ in their tiny kitchen for online orders. Now to the present.. restaurant week was upon us and I got an email from Morgan's. And the rest is... this review!! My friend and I were in a BBQ mood and last Friday night was a perfect breezy summer night for BBQ and brews and dining al fresco. We sat outside in their cute picnic seating and placed orders for brisket sandwich, fried chicken sandwich, fries and some drinks. All was good until... BEES! Swirling around us on us.. YIKES! and we headed inside.. literally feet don't fail us now!!! Andres, our really nice and understanding waiter, "ran" behind us with our food and drinks.. My friend loved her brisket sandwich.. tender and saucy. I loved my fried chicken sandwich and the fries... Yumm! I could have drank the sauce.. I dipped every fry in that sauce. The chicken was crispy and tender. I would order it again next time sans bread. My Corona XL really hit the spot and was badly needed as my Yankees lost yet another game.. I should have summoned the bees to Yankee stadium but I digress.. My friend loved the Berry Fresca*, she found it light and refreshing. Dining inside was just as cool as outside and it was packed as we were leaving. Well my " Tennessee Mountain" has moved to Prospect Heights!* * Sofreh is next to Morgan's.. I knew it was in Prospect Heights but a great find.. Eyval in Bushwick is related to Sofreh. Actually, there are a plethora of cool restaurants on St. Marks Avenue that I've bookmarked. More to come..( I felt like Rachel Maddow right now with that last line)

Came to enjoy some good ol American BBQ. We had our pup with us and were quickly seated outside. Food was delicious and the service was great as well. They came frequently to check in on us and even offered our pup some water. Their cocktails had heavy pours which is . The brisket and ribs were our favorite. The Mac and cheese was also excellent. The candied bacon on top of the Mac and cheese was ridiculously good.

Awesome service and great place to catch a game as they have huge tvs. Definitely great portions and food as well.

I've only been to this place once, and I will say I had a great time when I visited. I really like the ambience of the place, it's casual, but still inviting. The staff is pretty friendly and accommodating, but what I loved the most about this place was the food. I had some of the best brisket I've ever tried here, it was the perfect amount of lean and fatty, making it super flavorful. Their wings were also incredible. They smoke them and because of that they have the perfect amount of crispness to the skin and string in flavor. I also liked their bacon Mac and cheese, which was the perfect amount of cheesy for me. I would definitely come back here!

Please take note of the ignorance of the management's comment about my reasons for posting this review. The photos clearly show Morgan's barbeque served undercooked chicken which is a health risk to all customers. i refused management's complimentary meal offer and informed the staff that i will not patronize this business. Instead of attacking your customers for sharing valid concerns and feedback about your negligence, Morgan's management should take the initiative to prioritize and correct the ongoing problem. Serving improperly cooked meat to customers is a health risk and violation. The management's ignorant response clearly speaks volumes about the lack of professionalism, customer service, business ethics and values. No one cares about your free meals. Food safety should be your top priority. Again to all customers, please hold this establishment accountable for food safety.

I'm visiting NYC and decided to make my way over to Flatbush Avenue. I discovered Morgan's BBQ on www. Goldbelly.com. I ordered the Chopped Brisket sandwich and it did not disappoint. Flavorful, tender cuts that melted in my mouth. Ambience was very pleasant. The best part was the customer service - Eddie and the staff took really good care of me. Highly recommend this spot.

Man , I was craving some good ol' BBQ. I definitely used Yelp for this spot. This spot seemed underrated but I went based of the pictures. We had made a reservation prior and walked in and were seated right away. From the waiter we were told few good recommendations and we definitely listened. It's was a great idea , perfect for 2 hungry 200lbs+ Men. We had Wings , Mexican Corn , Platter , Beef Brisket and Bacon Mac Cheese. Loved the place everything was amazing . Loved the ambiance and bar. Definitely will be back !! When I arrived at this restaurantit was immaculate. The service was excellent and the staff very helpful and friendly. The food was delicious. I definitely would recommend this restaurant.

Yo this is my kind of place! As my Dude Big_Schilm would say Stamp on everything! We were hanging with our daughter and her boyfriend who had been here before. So we had so insight on what to expect. The outside seating looked great they had umbrellas for the tables. The inside wasn't huge but very cozy. Nice strong wood motif. Service was great! We decided to eat outside. After we ordered drinks and our meals. We were annoyed by a couple of Bees. We were quickly moved inside. Now the food in the hand is something special! If someone tells you that only good Bar-B-Que is in the south they are lying to you. Cause, let me tell you Morgan has some of the best Bar-B-Que in the country. The fatty Brisket is a must. The burnt ends, the ribs, the pork belly you name it, it was great! Not Good but Great! Not to mention the drinks were on point. I had the bushwick smash. Very nice . I've only ordered delivery, which comes on time and exactly how I ordered. The food is just kinda meh, and therefore very overpriced. I've sampled pretty much everything on the menu and this is the same quality as some big roadside franchise. I don't regret a meal, I just think it's worth about 65% of the asking price.

Absolutely terrible service. Took almost 20 minutes to get water. Waitress didn't refill soft drink requests either. Had to go to bar to ask for them. She stood hanging and talking with other employees. When we asked for our check, she said sure. Then left to wipe down a table elsewhere. Mind you..very few folks were at the restaurant. Also, some of the food (corn bread) didn't match the pictures online. Bottom line...food was pretty good, but service was absolutely terrible!!!! Will never go back.

All I have to say is Fatty Brisket and Truffle Mac & Cheese, nothing else matters to me!!! Fatty brisket: is so full of flavor and tender no sauce is needed. Truffle Mac and cheese: creamy cheesy goodness with truffle flavor that's not too overwhelming. Ribs: we're dry and not too flavorful Smoked Sausage: good Cornbread: Dry & hard... why would you serve this ‍ I'll stick to what I like, because I'm not brave enough to try anything else.
