14 New York Bars Where You Can Watch Football | Eater

"If you want to stay in the Village, cross 6th Avenue and head over to 3 Sheets. With plenty of TVs and a great selection of drinks, it’s the kind of spot that draws both diehard sports fans and casual onlookers. Order the totchos (tater tots covered with black beans, tomato, jalapeño, cheese, sour cream, and salsa) and your favorite rum cocktail, and you’re set to tune into the game." - Julia Gómez Kramer

Three Sheets Soho Review - Soho - London - The Infatuation

"Going for drinks in Soho can mean many things: a swift half, sloppily made G&Ts, or pop classics and sticky floors. But when you want a grown-up, well-made cocktail and somewhere (clean) to sit down, go to Three Sheets. The moody, narrow space is all flickering candles, dark green booths, and humming conversation. Like its Dalston sibling, the classics here are made excellently and the house drinks are creative. Their pisco sour incorporates sweet ice wine and aromatic poire, and the Sazzaquack channels a sazerac’s smooth, strong, syrupy flavour. When the sun’s out and the front windows are folded back, tables spill out front, primed for a clock-off-work-early dirty martini. photo credit: Aleksandra Boruch photo credit: Aleksandra Boruch photo credit: Aleksandra Boruch" - Daisy Meager

If you haven't been to this bar, you MUST go! One of the best bars in NYC. Bartender Brian is a great example of how to take care of everyone while making you feel like the most important person there. To visitors from the Midwest, he likes Clevelanders! So you are more than welcome to come see him!

Google
Was just here with my friends and this place is a vibe and our bartender Gerard (spelling; I hope that was his name lol) was amazing. The sweetest guy. The DJ was also great. Will be back!

Google
Always love coming here. Great food and always a very helpful bartender to get things going. Love the specials on weekdays too!

Google
Visited this bar recently and had an amazing time! The service was top-notch, with attentive and friendly staff who made me feel right at home. The atmosphere was fantastic, creating the perfect ambiance for a great night out. And let's not forget the drinks – they were absolutely delicious and expertly crafted. I'll definitely be returning to enjoy more wonderful evenings at this fantastic bar

Yelp
This is my spot! They have daily specials! My favorite one is the Half Off special on the bar from open to 7pm (daily) The bartenders and service on a low traffic day is awesome but; even if its a party night, be patient with the staff, they do get to you. The food is also really good, the chicken tenders and mini sliders are always my favorite. The environment is overall fun and welcoming! They have a few games and also, a portable charger area.

Yelp
great happy hour specials - some house drinks are as a cheap as $4.50. theres an upstairs area by the bathrooms too. friendly staff. pong games around to play. food specials everynight too, starts after 7. for example, $1 wing night on weds.

Yelp
I was in here for my usual post-church relaxation. I no longer have to rush home on Sundays so I was able to take my time drinking. I wanted some food to take home for a late night snack so I asked Rudy to put in an order of Buffalo wings, medium to go. When I got home the wings were still hot. They were fried crispy before being tossed in the sauce. Yum.

Yelp
I went back to 3 sheets this past Thursday afternoon but unfortunately Brian wasn't working. The bartender lady was also friendly but she didn't have a good taste in music. She was playing some hip hop and I missed the traditional 80s, 90s, 2000s rock and pop music which is a trademark at the bars that belong to this chain (down the hatch, off the wagon and a few others) and I could notice that the overall vibe wasn't the same as last time. But the beer was cold and cheap as usual which is great! I headed to down the hatch after 2 beers and the vibe was great there!

Yelp
This was a cool little spot to chill while we waited for the comedy cellar show. Everyday of the week they have some sort of happy hour from 7pm-close. It's pretty rowdy in here today because of the hockey game, but that's expected. Service was pretty quick. We're here on a Friday and definitely took advantage of the $10 beer and shot deal.

Yelp
I love this place. I've been coming here for football saturdays for the last 6 years now (hard to believe). Always a decent turnout, pretty clean, nice servers, and you don't have to wait long for a table (unless it's a big game). It technically a Purdue bar, but they never really show up. Food is top notch as far as sports bars go in the city. The three items pictured below are my go-to items (nachos, wings, tots). Daily rotating drink specials. The one I usually go for is Saturday $11 domestic pitchers. Drinking games in the back (beer pong, Jenga, connect four). They have a selfie cam. Upstairs is a big area you can rent out. Believe it is about $2k per 4 hours Place can get a bit loud sometimes (both from people yelling and the music). Would be nice if for some games they put the sound on the loud speaker v music

Yelp
Good vibes!!!! Excellent service from the bartender Gerard is the man!!!! They have food here but I came in late; definitely a place to visit!! Ask for Gerard.

Yelp
I love this bar! Came during a Wednesday for $5 off pitchers or $3 off beer ($5) Rudy was so great I ended up spending more than I needed lol. Come here for a vibe, even when it's hot it's cool inside, the beer on draft is SUPER COLD and refreshing. One of my favorites in the area!

Yelp
This is a great semi divey place to go to, especially when you factor in the drink specials. Be sure to check out their website for their specials, which change daily, and they offer some specials until closing. The crowd was diverse and a mix of regulars, NYUs, and tourists. There are 2 floors and both were busy on a Saturday night. The bartenders were great and did several shots with us. Awesome, skittle bombs shots. As for the bar food 3 shots in, I knew I needed something to eat to soak up some alcohol to keep me going. The Chicago dog i had was amazing they rivaled crif dogs in PDT;) I would try some of their other food. For fun, they have giant jenga, connect 4, and beer pong. There are many big screens around to watch games The place is very loud on the weekend, but the DJ had us dancing at the bar with their mix of current, 80's, 90's, alternative, and hip hop.

Yelp
My friend was there this weekend on a date. Her date was grabbing her and hurting her under the bar and she got up and this person started grabbing her front the jacket. She asked the bartender to help her and she did nothing. She looked to security to help and the bartender told them everything was fine. She stayed in the bar in hopes the bar would keep her safe and they did nothing. When she left the bar she got robbed by her date and had to find cops to help her. She called me immediately after telling me everything that happened. Personally I am appalled that the staff did not help someone who was clearly in distress. Over all I would not recommend this bar because it is clearly not a safe place to be at if you get into trouble.

Yelp
Ah, how many nights did I spend here as a grad student after classes? It was fun, they had tables set up for beer pong and additional fun. The lines are shorter these days, and I get the feeling it's a bit harder to run business after covid... but there are still plenty of dark seats and beers to be had here. Upstairs you can reserve for bigger parties and get drink specials for a large group (they come with wristbands for entry), a couple bartenders managing two bars if you're a really big party, otherwise tends to be closed unless the ground floor is busier. Loud music, of course, and DJ running around some nights.

Yelp
Went on santacon and had so much fun! We love Gigi she was super attentive and served everything very quickly. She even put on a buddy the elf costume, give that gal a raise

Yelp
We went to 3 Sheets after enjoying 7th Street Burgers and Fries on Macdougal in Greenwich Village last month. 3 Sheets is on West 3rd near the A,B,C,D,E, F & M trains at the West 4th Train Station. Walk across the street and there it is close to the Blue Note Jazz Club, Groove and other hang-put spots. If you want a casual place...3 Sheets Saloon is definitely a good option. There is security that checks your ID before you can enter the establishment. 3 Sheets has a laid-back, down-to-earth vibe w/ two floors and is clean including their bathrooms. 3 Sheets has Jumbo Jenga, Beer Pong Games and multiple large screen televisions. We were able to enjoy wathcing an NBA Playoff Game as we sat at the bar. 3 Sheets boasts a bubbly, lively crowd that evening as well as friendly, wonderful staff. Fantastic 80's, 90's Hip-Hop, Pop, Alternative & R + B Music blared from the speakers. Yes you know I was singing and dancing as I sat on my bar stool-lol. Hearing TLC one minute and then listening to Fine Young Cannibals the next was everything. Good Stuff. 3 Sheets has Happy Hour Specials everyday : Monday- Friday - $3 off the entire bar & $5 off Beer Pitchers from 3pm-7pm. Monday- $7 Deep Eddy Vodka drinks & $6 Jameson Shots from 7pm- Close. Tuesday- $5 Modelo & $6 Blanco Shots Wednesday- $12 Buckets Michelob Ultra and /or Miller Highlite Ponies.. $6 off all draft beers / $5 Well-Shots. Thursday- $5 Bud Light Seltzer, $6 Whiskey Shots, $15 Bud Light & Coor Light Beer Pitchers from 7pm-Close. Friday - $10 Beer & Shot Combo from 7pm-Close. Saturday- 12pm-7pm - $6 Tito's drinks, Bud Light Seltzer, Blanco Shots, etc. Sunday - 12- Close - $6 Drafts & Whiskey Shots. $15 Bud Light & Coors Light Beer Pitchers. Also $24 Mugmosas. We enjoyed our $6 Blanco Shots w/ complimentary Cranberry + Pineapple Juice Chasers. 3 Sheets also has bar eats that include Nachos, Chicken Fingers, Quesadillas, Tater Tots, Burgers, Fries, Hot Dogs, Wraps, Sandwiches, etc. Someone ordered wings and they smelled and looked delicious. Website- 3sheetsnyc.com Instagram- @3sheetsnyc 3 Sheets is open 7 days a week. One can also book the 2nd Floor Party Room.for Private Events - 150 Person Capacity.

Yelp
We hit up this place before a hilarious show at the Cellar. This feels like a college bar, since there are specials for every day of the week. The music playing over the speakers is fresh. The bartenders are attentive and the prices are reasonable for NYC. This isn't a high-end joint by any stretch of the imagination, but a nice place to have a few cold ones with friends. The upstairs was curtained off when we were there, but there is a bar up there as well. I'll assume the upstairs gets used on Friday and Saturday nights or if the place gets really packed.
google avatar

Yelp
5$ beer special when I went, good selection. Good vibes, Rudy behind the bar is super cool. Will def go back when in the area :)

Yelp
Let me tell you, this is what you call a funky good time! My mom wanted to go to one of the local bars in the area for her birthday, but it was super busy. So I walked around the corner to the block that I knew best when I worked in this area. Sadly my old faithful has become a comedy club, so we went next door. From the time we hit the door everyone was super nice and accommodating. We've grabbed a seat at the bar and the fun began 4 beers and 6 shots later my mom was having the time of her life! We had so much fun with the bartenders and the staff we definitely go back when she comes in town again. Say hi to Camryn for me!

Yelp
First time at 3 sheets last week, met up with a few co workers. I ate beforehand but the drinks were on point! Bartender was attentive and gave us complimentary Shots of what we were drinking. Definitely good vibes, with the Giant Jenga... friendly people at the bar! Will be attending again.
google avatar

Ja J.

Yelp
Nice neighborhood bar and the prices are right considering you're in NYC. They have a few sister neighborhood joints and l would definitely not hesitate to stop at any of them.

Yelp
PURCHASED · FREE drink tickets -- courtesy of the bartender POSITIVE · two-story spot · public beer pong tables (2 upstairs, 1 downstairs) · NYU bar NEGATIVE · not as crowded on the days I've been. Good spot to hop to and from. IMPRESSION · I've been to 3 Sheets twice in my life. The first time was 3 years ago when I first was invited by my friends fresh out of college. The second time was when I met the bartender handing out free drink tickets while at the Yankees vs. Red Sox game (I schooled her friend on the the average length of the vaginal canal being 3 inches. Long story short--a comment from her friend about the size of my Asian weiner came up. (Mine is 5.5 inches.) I think I impressed the bartender who gave me drink tickets after explaining the 3-inch fact. [If you require evidence, please refer to my ex in my profile photo :))

Yelp
Small sports bar that I will certainly be returning too. Came here to watch a Knicks game before a show, could not have been a better experience, even though the second floor was rented out. Great beer, great service, and $10 pitches. What more could you ask for.

Taylor S.

Yelp
I went here for the first time on Saturday at 1pm and it was, unexpectedly, one of the best bars I've been to so far in NYC! Rudy is the main contributing factor to my review; he was amazing! We ordered the Totchos (tater tot nachos) which were delicious and had drinks flowing. Nikki, another bartender, arrived before we left and she was also so wonderful. The vibes were amazing - a lot of 20 somethings there to watch sports games. We ended up staying way longer than intended and I'm planning to come back here frequently!

Yelp
Update a few years later I had to knock it down a star due to the fact the last few years they got rid of the 1/2 price whole bar on the weekends. Such a bummer. They still have beer specials 1/2 off, bit they did raise the beer prices a few bucks and they have $5 deep Eddy on sat and $5 tullamore due shots on Sunday. But it's not the same. They still have the 1/2 price whole bar during the week though which is wonderful! Me and my friends were coming here for the longest of times. Before it got popular. But I get it supply and demand haha. It's still a good place to come for sporting events. And having a good tomw. People are friendly in there. Bartenders are great. And the food is good bar food. Wings are amazing. One of the better wings I've had. The bacon grilled cheese is simple but delicious and the tator tots are crunchy. Still a good spot but was better a couple years ago.
google avatar

Gregory B.

Yelp
Standard bar buffalo chicken wrap. A lot of chicken, small amount of toppings. Was good, but I'd probably mix it up next time. Tater tots were great, warm and crispy.
google avatar

Celine J.

Yelp
This is a laid back dive bar. The staff are cool & the food & drinks are great. Typical Covid rules, mask are required once you stand up & or walk. Once seated you may remove your mask, this bar is at the epicenter of West 4th area. It feels good sitting inside at a bar again. Oh and we got free red bull, the tropical flavor is the best!
google avatar

Annika G.

Yelp
LOUD. LOUD. LOUD. Would not recommend this bar at all. Of all the bars/restaurants we have ever been to, by far the loudest. It was louder than a concert I went to last week. We asked the waitress about it but nothing could be done. We came in to grab some drinks and watch the baseball game on a Friday night but it just felt so uncomfortable and unhealthy for my ears and head. Got a headache from this as the first floor is small and the speakers blast right in your face. The second floor is barely better. Best spot is the bathroom where the music is at a comfortable volume. We didn't stay longer than 30 minutes. Would highly not recommend. Not sure about the other bars in the area but I would go farther for a better bar.
google avatar

Merricks W.

Yelp
Stopped here for a few beers while we waited for our show at the comedy cellar. Staff is nice and the beer is fairly priced. Great laid back spot!
google avatar

Madison B.

Yelp
Briefly stopped in for a few car bombs with friends. 3 Sheets was good enough, though I would appreciate signs downstairs indicating when the upstairs space is closed for private events and stuff. Numerous customers kept walking up to be denied access, my parting included, which was a small but easily avoidable annoyance.
google avatar

Sherry L.

Yelp
I came here early on Superbowl Sunday with a friend to celebrate the end of my MBA. She'd raved about the buffalo chicken nachos here since we met and she promised me she would take me out for them! I had a very different experience this time around than I did previously. The floor was not sticky with spilled drinks and the entire atmosphere was overall much less rowdy. Even though tables were already reserved for the game, the staff was nice enough to let us take a seat given that we leave before the reservations started. We were lucky that the individuals that our table was reserved for didn't arrive while we were still there - as we saw quite a few other tables get displaced awkwardly. Our nachos took a while to come out, but they were worth the wait. The cheese was baked onto the chips and the buffalo chicken, yet the chips maintained their crunch. There were also a ton of buffalo chicken pieces mixed in with the chips. NOMS. Overall, it was a fantastic $14 spent. I noticed that 3 Sheets actually has some pretty awesome happy hour deals throughout the week as well. It would definitely be my pre-gaming bar of choice if I had to choose one!
google avatar

Amelia S.

Yelp
Found this place with my friend because we were in the area and needed a place to watch a hockey game. They fit us in right away even on a crowded Saturday. Got seats at the bar and the bar tenders put on the game just for us. Great deal with 1/2 price beer Saturday's 12-8. Can't find a better price in the city. I ordered the buffalo chicken wrap with the chipotle chicken. The fries looked more like fried pickles but they were good. I wouldn't get the chipotle chicken again (it didn't pair well with buffalo) but it was very good. It was a pulled spiced chicken. Very good portion of food for $12. Bartenders were phenomenal. Even though I'd change a few things about the food, the service was great and that's why I'm giving them 5 stars. Will gladly stumble upon here next time I'm in the area.
google avatar

Brandon S.

Yelp
3 sheets saloon is a bar that my classmates and I have gone to a few times to celebrate the end of an exam or to celebrate a birthday. Though it has a little bit less space than nearby bars, the fact that it has a full bar both upstairs and a downstairs allows for enough space to accommodate a whole class. The bartenders and staff are more than friendly (the bartender somehow remembered almost all of our names despite the bar being packed) and service was INCREDIBLY quick for both the food and the drinks. During happy hour, the price is almost unrivaled for the area. I was getting pitchers of beer for $10, as well as shots for around $4. Even the food, which was not a happy hour special, was pretty reasonably priced for what you were getting. At some point in the night I got hungry so I ordered some nachos (and added in the optional pulled pork for an additional $4) coming out to a little over $16. At first I thought this was a lot, until I actually saw the size of my nachos. The plate could literally feed a small army, and I found myself offering food to my classmates. All in all, had a great time, and I will be back.

Victoria C.

Yelp
We went to this bar while waiting for our comedy show to start and ended up going back after the show. The bartenders were very nice, we closed down the bar with the staff lol! Drinks were great and music was amazing! Very good prices for NYC and drink deals every day. Definitely visit if you are in the area!

Abigail K.

Yelp
Very fun atmosphere and the bartenders were amazing!!!!!! Music was loud and energetic! 10/10

Sarah B.

Yelp
Great bartenders! Rudy (Go Pack Go), Gabe, and Emmy made for a great night! 3 Sheets will be a definite stop again next trip to NYC.
google avatar

Sarah P.

Yelp
I mean, you walk in here knowing what to expect. While I haven't been here on a weekend, I am sure it gets wild and loud. Even on a Thursday at 4pm it's loud and busy. Why you ask? Because all of these sister bars are cheap and good. So if you've never been here; come in with that mindset and you won't be disappointed. The service has always been good here, everyone is pretty friendly and efficient. 4/5
google avatar

Daniel J.

Yelp
Here for beer (again).. Good: -happy hour prices -lively crowd, but in a good way -2 floors, drink where you choose to -tons of TVs Bad: -none

Andrea B.

Yelp
Such a fun local vibe! Only reason it's not a five star, this one speaker is in desperate need of repair or replacement. The bass is nonexistent and sounds like a radio station from the 1950s. Other than that, so fun! Great bartenders and bouncers!

Iliana E.

Yelp
ON PRIDE. Literally the day of, a man who worked there was running the line to the bathroom, had the audacity to misgender my friend and try and force them to go into the wrong bathroom. The vibes were not there. Only good thing was the music. Don't recommend.
google avatar

Lolita M.

Yelp
Beer pong. They have beer pong available upstairs. Something I haven't indulged in since college but it's always fun when you have a girls night out with your old school crew - as long as there is no streaking involved. Beware of the ping pong shark lest you end up behaving like Will Ferrell after losing a few rounds! Ma ma shark do do do do do do do still had it and someone definitely ended up 3 sheets to wind. Alas, I digress. It's a great place to make Snapchat memories.
google avatar

Albert K.

Yelp
Decent If you're looking for a sportsy bar with drinks, then this is decent. 2 SPACES- upstairs & downstairs vibe - packed. collegy. dingy grimy bathroom. prices slightly higher than normal.
google avatar

Marla F.

Yelp
Came here last night and had a blast. They have beer pong which is hilarious but I was more interested in the life size JENGA! So much fun. Also drinks are fairly priced and apparently they have happy hour with 50% off all drinks!
google avatar

Kirtishri M.

Yelp
Went here to watch playoff football game with some friends. They have plenty of screens to watch the game and put the sound on. The drunks are reasonably priced. It was super packed so we just stood the whole time, but it was very fun. Place could be a little more clean. A great bar for games.
google avatar

Kelly J.

Yelp
TERRIBLE. Ralph wouldn't let us in because of sweat pants shen the bar was dead and they are open for 45 more minutes. You can bring your scooter in, but can't come from work. Please don't support this shit hole.
google avatar

Vanness B.

Yelp
Super fun bar! Came here on a Saturday night and played beer pong and flip cup with friends. There are two tables in the back that can be used to play either flip cup or beer pong. The tables also have like a little diagram so you know how to set up beer pong or where to place your cups for flip cup. There's an upstairs area with another bar and the bathrooms.

Sara O.

Yelp
Celebrated my birthday here a couple of weeks ago where I met with about 10 friends. Didn't make a reservation since I knew they were all arriving at different times. We ate a bunch of nachos and ordered pitchers and had a great time. Loved the relaxed atmosphere, and no frills type of vibe. It was perfect for us.
google avatar

Tiffany C.

Yelp
My friend held an event in the second floor so we had a big area to ourselves. Second floor is pretty spacious and open. First floor seemed very crowded. There's beer pong and tvs. Drinks were good, food was good. I had the McDowells Burger and it was cooked perfectly. I had a hard time finishing it because the portion with the fries is huge! Prices are little higher, but I enjoyed my time here.

Craig C.

Yelp
A Bud is $8, seriously!? All their bars were sweet. Now they all suck. A friendly bartender would be nice.
google avatar

Nahya B.

Yelp
I love the wings. I had to get some for takeout. The drinks are okay. They seem strong enough for me. But my friend said they were weak.
google avatar

Mike C.

Yelp
I love this bar. And Tara is one of the friendliest, fastest, and most on-the-ball servers I've ever met. She and the rest of the Three Sheets team are what keep me coming back. also the nachos.
google avatar

Josh M.

Yelp
This place gets going and I mean that in a good way. They have beer pong, cheapish drinks, good folks working the bar and decent music pumping. I havent been here in a minute but when I went back it got better than the last time I was here. Its interesting that the crowd isnt super young, even though everyone is acting like it...again, I mean that in a good way. People just find a way to have good time while keeping it mostly under control. Good stuff here.
