"I’m having trouble remembering the last time I actually ate fettuccine alfredo. It was probably a few decades ago with my niece who could eat this favorite dish daily. It was a bit unusual to try this dish from Edibol in the Arts District, where owner Andrea Uyeda puts together weekly meal kits for her loyal customers. Every ingredient comes in a box with instructions, which took under seven minutes to reheat. If we’re being honest, I’m a little burned out from cooking at home so it was nice to avoid the grocery store and preparing for the moist chicken breast and buttery noodles. Her menu changes weekly, but it’ll always be something comforting with an accompanying salad." - Eater Staff

Yelp
For lunch: went with assorted 7 pieces, came with a miso soup and salad. Also Fabian hooked it up with lychee ice cream soooo ask for the homie. All that was like $20 it was not bad imo. Vibe is chill - they got a tv that plays sports and they play rap/hip hop Fabian also recommended if you're hungry and more bang for your buck go for the bento box - chicken katsu, gyoza, and something else... the poke bowl is also worth its fill too according to him. So I might just come back for all these goodness since I'm right here. Also also if you're a resident here in arts district they give you a discount. Deuces

Yelp
Really good find in arts district! Very intimate feeling vibe coming in and the staff are pretty nice. I wasn't too hungry so I just got one roll (the Baja roll) and it was a good enough portion :) I definitely need to come back and try some more things because I took a look at what my friends were getting and everything looked pretty good! There's also a parking lot right next to it so parking was easy :) they validate too!

Yelp
My downtown friend always wants us to go here BUT, I will not travel downtown during the week for lunches... on the weekend, another story. Delicious choices, amazing waitstaff ( Rawaa), and such a beautiful-location with free parking! Pricey for sure BUT, such a lovely place to meet and hang out for a couple of hours ( on this Sunday afternoon)... NOT DURING THE WEEK;))) Not in my neighborhood, BUT, it is in my friends' backyard... so one person removed. Special establishment for a special occasion and more! Yummy and delicious! Definitely recommend!

Yelp
Love this restaurant being dog friendly! Got our dog a salmon pup meal that their picky selves loved. The food and service were amazing. The sushi rolls were legit and not rice heavy. Highly recommend the 4 course meal as recommended by our friendly waiter. I got the miso Brussels sprouts and my partner chose the spicy tuna rice cakes for one of the courses and they were so good. All the course options were great and worth the price. I loved the ambiance of the restaurant which was very relaxed and could have a conversation in. Looking forward to coming back. Also they validated parking so don't pay until you get their code!

Yelp
Food, service and ambiance were impeccable. We came here for lunch and were so impressed with the quality of food and hospitality. The bento box is must with a selection of sashimi/nigiri. Everything is cook to order, fresh and delish especially the nigiri. We also loved the lychee ice cream with bits of lychee. As a souvenir, we got Kombu matchbox, it's a cute keepsake. Michael was very kind and hospitable.

Yelp
Here another meal along with a meal for our pup, Ava. Our order took longer than usual but for the wait, the food was delicious. We ordered the Bento Box A with salmon plus a tuna roll and vegetable tempura. Ava had her portion of salmon and brown rice. We topped off our meal with Lychee sorbet and green tea ice cream. Nice and inviting dining area. Lots of seating both indoors and out.

Yelp
I can talk about this place all day long. The food is delicious. Everytime I come here, I get something new and they never disappoint. Staff is very welcoming. The place is decorated well.

Yelp
This is a cute restaurant, and they have a great happy hour. The service is very attentive. Stopped by on a Saturday for happy hour and it wasn't busy at all. The happy hour prices are insanely affordable, and the food and drinks are very good. It is especially good to be so affordable during happy hour, without compromising the quality. Very impressed. I got the shrimp tempura, and the sake mojito. Both were great.

Yelp
I came for a casual dinner with the bf on a week night. It was our first time here so our friendly server recommended the Chef's Tasting Menu so we can to try more dishes. This consisted of four courses and a drink for each person. We ended up getting one of each item on the menu to share; miso soup, mushroom soup, brussel sprouts, spicy tuna rice cake, nigiri, and from the roll options, we chose the Cajun and Citron rolls. I'm allergic to alcohol so the non-alcohol sparkling Yuzu drink option was perfect. The food was more than enough for two people and I enjoyed the nigiri the most. It was very fresh and I loved the variety of fish. I also liked the spicy tuna on rice cake and was surprised that the rice was served room temp. I'm used to the rice being hot/freshly fried. The miso soup was great. I was not a big fan of the mushroom soup; it is an acquired taste. Definitely gave me flashbacks of my childhood when my grandparents made me drink herbal medicine when I got sick. As for the rolls, we liked them but they were overly drenched in sauce which made each bite very salty. I would definitely ask for light or no sauce next time. Overall, the meal was good for the price and variety.

Yelp
One of my favorite sushi spots! The food is always good, the service is quick and you get seated fast. The eggplant appetizer is one of my favorites! The rolls are all delicious!

Yelp
Great, smaller restaurant with wonderful ambience, fantastic food, and great service!

Stephanie Y.

Yelp
Overall I was not very impressed with the food quality considering the prices. I ordered a Zara soba and the noodles had the texture of having been cooked awhile ago and taken from the fridge (a little stale). The fish was good, but roll were a little skinnier than I'm used to. Service was friendly and accommodating to my vegetarian friend. Ambiance had some cute areas for pictures. Kind of a trendy looking place with average food.

Yelp
Very cute sushi place with a theme of their cute dog. Such a cozy spot for simple yet very intimately. They have sake to pair with sushi and also many cute merchandise. Indoor and outdoor seatings available. Highlights of the menu: 1. Sashimi 2. Sushi lunch box 3. Roll

Salina N.

Yelp
Didn't get any pictures because I ordered via delivery and was extra starving by the time it came but omg the food is spectacular! The flavor profiles and textures made each roll I had uniquely delicious in its own way. I got the salmon fusion roll, citron roll, serpent roll and blue crab roll which I will order all again. I can't wait to go in person!

Tanya T.

Yelp
Rice to fish ratio in the rolls was great. There was a thin layer of rice. It was well constructed and didn't fall apart. Service was a bit slow, but she was fast to keep our table clean! She grabbed our chopsticks trash right away. Which was nice. Brussel sprouts: 4/5 Blue crab and avocado roll: 4/5 Shrimp and asparagus: 3/5 Crunchy roll: 4.5/5 Spicy tuna roll: 4/5

Yelp
Solid sushi place! I love the ambiance and the colorful space. It's artsy and has really good energy. The food is SOLID! Great quality rolls. Will be coming back :) also WOC owned! Come support

Yelp
Food was good but our waiter was impolite and after further research this was not an isolated incident. Ive never met a waiter who made no menu suggestions and tagged on a 20% for a table of 1 (at least at matu i get great servers). Though my sushi was good i wont be back because the service left a bad taste im my mouth. Luckily i am DTLA so theres lots of other options :) happt sushi-ing

Yelp
What a cute little spot. We had taken the train to LA and wanted some sushi and found this restaurant. It was Monday afternoon and not busy. Lots of seating inside and out but it was super hot out so we sat inside. Our server was very sweet and attentive. We were seated and looked over the menu. They had some specials, bento boxes, sushi, sashimi and specialty rolls. My husband and I each got the bento box (chose 3 items for a list) and a specialty roll. His bento box had a tuna sushi roll, sashimi and chx gyoza. My bento box had veg tempura, chx gyoza and sashimi. The sashimi was nice and fresh. The tempura had a nice light breading. I do wish they had shrimp tempura as an option though. I liked the gyoza but note it was not steamed, it was fried. There is also salad and pickled cucumbers. The cucumbers were really yummy. We got the same roll which had salmon and very thinly sliced purple onion on the top and inside it had avocado and salmon. I actually could have done without the avocado though it wasn't bad. There was also a very light ponzu sauce which I liked. Since it was our first time, we each received a complimentary sorbet. They were so good and fresh and on a hot day, perfect. All in all very happy with our meal and if we go up again, we would def stop in!

Yelp
Yummy! I went here on a weekday for lunch and the restaurant was basically empty. Only one hostess working at the time so she was able to be really attentive in terms of service. I will say that while the food is delicious, the prices are a just a liiiittle steep. ALSO, I noticed that when you pay with card and they ask for tip, the percentage starts at 20%, so just beware incase your muscle memory wants to tap the 15%. Otherwise, the meals are hearty, especially the lunch special bento boxes! It offered a great variety and filled me up. I recommend for a nice lunch/dinner date but I don't know if this is somewhere I'd go to regularly.

Yelp
We ordered delivery from this place. ETA was supposed to be 530pm. It did not arrive until almost 7pm. I am not sure what third party service they use, but UberEats did not provide and ETA and when calling the restaurant during that time frame where the food should have arrived - they also had no idea. Honestly, horrible customer service and experience for average food.

Yelp
Stumbled upon this cute restaurant and decided to try it during happy hour (3-6pm on the weekdays). The waitress was so sweet and attentive. Got the chicken karage, cucumber salad, and a few cut rolls. I loved that all the rolls were fresh and weren't overpowered by a huge amount of rice so you can taste the fish more. The cucumber salad had a perfect blend of vinegar and crunch. The chicken karage was seasoned well and had a light crunchy exterior. Would definitely come back again when I'm in the area!

Yelp
Killer sushi place. Family owned. Very unique. Not only unique sushi and sashimi, but other dishes (check out the menu). The drinks are also really cool and live the story of their dog Kombu. Oh, and awesome service. Highly Recommend

Serapina C.

Yelp
Super cozy spot for good sushi and service in the Arts District! Their Phoenix roll (esp the sauce) was really refreshing and savory, but will definitely have to come back to explore more of their rolls :D

Angelica L.

Yelp
First time and will be returning very soon! Went with my mom and pup and we all enjoyed it! Service was amazing and food is just as good :)! I got a bento box and it came with a variety of sides to try I highly recommend. It is so cozy I felt like I was sitting in my living room with the pillows so good will be introducing everyone to this place !!! Also the green tea ice cream is amazing it had no artificial taste!

Michiko M.

Yelp
Based on Uber eats delivery. The crunchy roll was good but seemed smaller than other sushi spots I've been too. The hamachi mango salad was really good. Dressing complimented the salad well. Delivery took pretty long but it was Memorial Day and I thought I was ordering from the silver lake location.

Robert R.

Yelp
We went for happy hour, we had great food, and the Sapporo was only $3! Also, Lychee ice cream was to die for!!

Ashley C.

Yelp
Yum yum ! What a gem of a sushi spot here by little Tokyo ! They have a parking lot and parking on the street. Located in like an apartment structure along with small businesses. Honestly like the vibe walking up , felt safe & all. Service was on point , James was super nice. I got a couple of the items on the menu such as the Brussels sprouts , gyoza , crunchy roll , and veggie crunch roll. Omg ! Loved loved the Brussels sprouts literally almost liked the plate , the gyozas had a really good sauce to it it was so good like it had a spice to it but was not spicy. The rolls were yum! Most def a sushi spot to check out .

Yelp
1 star is mainly to reflect the inconsistent service. This will have been our 3rd and definitely last time coming to this location. We were seated right away and drink orders were taken fairly quickly. The first thing I asked for was a glass of water and also drinks. Order placed...cool. About 5 minutes later our waitress takes another tables order and comes back promptly with water for them and miso soup. Meanwhile still haven't received my water...she drops off dishes at other tables...takes more orders...still waiting. My husband got up and asked politely if we could get our water and about another 5 minutes later all the drinks came together. Close to 20 minutes to get water which I had asked to get right away is ridiculous. The wine and coke could have waited and she could of asked the guy clearing tables and resetting them to bring the water but nope. Let me add that there were only 3 tables dining 1 of which was ours. Not a packed house. After our drinks came we placed our food order which came out fairly quickly and it was fine but when we didn't finish everything the waitress made a snarky comment that we didn't finish our food "oh but you were soooo hungry." She made this comment because my husband got up and asked if we could get our water. What her lousy service has to do with whether we finish our food or not is beyond me. Going to keep to the Silverlake location. Their service whether it's a packed or they just have 3 tables is always excellent. We only came to the Arts location on this day because we were in the area. Should of just drove the extra 15 minutes. Big mistake.

Yelp
Came to eat her with my friend because we were in little Tokyo and I was craving a sushi spot that offered garlic edamame. This place definitely fulfilled my cravings. There are a lot of sushi restaurants around the area. My friend and I were having a hard time choosing where to eat but the previous reviews of this place steered us here. Here are my food ratings: Citron Roll, 10/10 - The owner and server both told us this was one of their most popular rolls so we ordered it and it wow'd the both of us. Honestly I just love anything with both a little bit of spice and citrus. Salmon avocado roll, 8/10 - good quality! (I dipped it into the sauce from the citron roll a couple times... 10/10) Philadelphia roll, 8/10 - my friend's favorite type of roll. Yum! Spicy Garlic Edamame, 9/10 - waited all day to have some of this garlic edamame. Delicious! The service was excellent. We felt super welcome into the restaurant and since it was our first time there someone who I believe was the manager/owner talked to us about the restaurant's origins. She also gave us some cute matchbooks after! Will be returning to this beautiful restaurant with a wonderful ambiance whenever I'm craving sushi in the area. Thanks for having us!

Dennis C.

Yelp
Great food and service. I accidentally spilled my miso soup and they brought me another one without me even having to ask. That's service you don't see anymore. I wish I could remember our servers name but she was awesome!

Christina M.

Yelp
The best customer service! Food came out quickly and was delicious! The cosmic roll was tangy and fresh and the crunchy roll flavorful and filling! Definitely recommend.

Chris S.

Yelp
Everything here was good, The only issue was that most things tend to be on the sweet side. The service was friendly and helpful. The nigiri sushi was also fresh and tender. Worth checking out.

Steven O.

Yelp
I thought I'd have a quick lunch at Kombu Sushi, but ended up staying for hours because I had such a good time. The food was delicious. The environment was chill. The staff was amazing. I'll definitely visit again soon. pros: specials and happy hour all week. good prices. fun staff. inviting space. LGTBQ+++ cons: i'm a biker - so would love a bike rack

Sheetal S.

Yelp
4.5 stars! Went here on a Sunday afternoon for brunch to celebrate my bestie's birthday and it was an amazing experience! We had a reservation for 1:45PM, but it looked like there was no wait when we were coming in at this time. The inside is a bit small, but they also have outside seating! Clean bathrooms, but they're located outside the restaurant on the side. Not sure if they have a lot since we walked from our previous activity, but parking on the street was plentiful around 11am-12pm. Staff is extremely nice & really care! We could tell that they wanted to ensure that our party had the best experience! A big plus is that they offer lunch specials on the wknd from 12-3pm (not 100% sure on the times). Everyone in our party got different lunch specials and sushi rolls to try. I personally got lunch special A with sashimi, spicy tuna roll, and veggie tempura which were all delicious, but the tempura sauce was a bit too gingery for my taste (other people in my party enjoyed it though). I also sampled some of my friend's chicken katsu and it was amazing! Fish was fresh & did not have a fishy taste AT ALL! We also tried calamari and brussel sprouts for appetizers which were absolutely delicious. No pictures of the food because we DEVOURED, but enjoy my beautiful friend : ) Thank you to Kombu Sushi for making sure she had a great birthday!

Arlene N.

Yelp
This place has amazing vegan sushi! Thank you for making great vegan sushi! They also are very pet friendly here. Lots of dogs hanging out with their humans here -love that. The service was great as well. Will definitely be coming back soon!

Joahanna M.

Yelp
Always a delight coming to get good fresh sushi. Try the satsuma fries, it's my favorite! The service is always great. You will feel taken care of. It's nice for lunch, we usually come during happy hour from 3-6pm.

Calvin L.

Yelp
I've had this on my list because it was recommended and the reviews are good, but honestly thought it might just be another average overpriced sushi spot, which is common is SoCal unfortunately. I walked by it one day not on purpose, and was drawn by the happy hour menu and it looked attractive with a modern colorful design, bright with large windows (most sushi spots are dark), and outdoor seating too. The happy menu is more extensive than most, and I enjoyed the taste, portion size and price of the rolls and sake that ordered. My server Rachael was exceptional - friendly, attentive, followed up frequently and was constantly making are I was taken care of (clearing plates, refilling my tea without me asking, asking if I needed anything). It was pretty busy too, which is a good sign, but I never felt ignored or had to flag her down. The other staff I interacted with was super friendly and seemed to care about what I needed and my experience there. Doggie alert! I noticed there were a few dogs inside that I barely noticed because they were so well behaved. They have a dog menu and rewards program. I would definitely come back for the happy hour or to try the regular menu and recommend this place!!

Yenny Z.

Yelp
Wow, kombu sushi is so fun!!! It is a rather small and unassuming sushi spot in the one Santa Fe apartments, but I'm really impressed by its overall value. First off, their happy hour which is DAILY from 3-6 is SO GOOD. $3 draft Sapporo and $8 sake cocktails. And rolls that are all $10 or less. We came in on a Saturday for the first time for the last 30 min of happy hour and enjoyed 4 rolls and several drinks, amounting to around $50 which is crazy good value. I'd also like to highlight all the servers there who were so nice and great. It made for a very pleasant dining experience. Also there are cool ambiance led lights everywhere in the bathroom and IIRC they play sports on the tv and good electronic music although I don't care for sports. Will definitely be coming back here on a regular basis :)

Vanessa C.

Yelp
The food is AMAZING! My mouth drools just thinking about the octopus lol. And my husband was never really a fan of tofu, but their tofu steak with mushrooms is his new favorite! The sushi is just so fresh and you can really taste the quality. When we decide to dine outside with our pups, they're always so kind to them and give them their own little water dish. It's just a great experience for the whole family

Merline T.

Yelp
Wait time to order, for a non-busy restaurant having a customer wait 15 minutes after seating is inappropriate. After watching our server serve three other tables after seating them AFTER US mind you, my partner and I were fed up and had to flag her down to finally order our food. Specialty rolls were ok, not significantly better than normal. Food 2/5 Service 1/5 Ambiance 2/5 Wanted to support local restaurant but definitely won't be coming back.

Christina F.

Yelp
I love this place. I was working in the Arts District for a week and I ate here 3 times. Service is exceptional and sushi was fresh and very tasty.

Nicholas M.

Yelp
Ambiance: The place is a but small but it's decent- the seats have pillows and are comfy. Service: The service was friendly- a mistake was made on my order that was corrected immediately. Food: The Food wasn't terrible but for the price/portion ratio it felt like a bit much. The lunch sized chicken bowl with no rice I ordered came with about 3 pieces of Broccoli and 5 thinly sliced carrots- and they put rice anyways which wasn't what I ordered- with less than a chicken thigh's worth of chicken for 15$ the roll pieces were also small in comparison to a lot of other sushi places I frequent with a price tag of 20$ for a specialty roll I expected more sushi overall it was kind if tiny. In Conclusion, it's good sushi but their profit margins must be insane because you're not getting very much food for what you're paying for.

David J.

Yelp
This place is a vibe Food: 10/10 Service: 10/10 Ambiance: 10/10 Came here with some fam and this place did not disappoint! Happy hour here is a must to try all the delicious sushi options. Almost got one of everything on this menu but we love the Spicy Tuna Rice Cakes, Blue Crab & Avocado Roll, and you cannot go wrong with the Shrimp Tempura roll!! Prices are fair and the service is on point. Definitely recommend this place for a date or small group of friends. There is inside and outdoor dining. Come try this place!

Roberto V.

Yelp
Cool place, great food. Not so fond of the parking, but hey it's LA. Johnathan was awesome. Will definitely come back. My friends still want that dressing recipe!

Ann G.

Yelp
sush great, over 15 veriety, rib, soup, clams, dim sum, desert ice cream, anything you wanted it

Molly G.

Yelp
This place is absolutely adorable and has delicious food to boot! My friend and I stopped by after a long walk with our dogs, and the awesome server not only found us a table outside but turned on heat lamps to keep us warm. He also brought us a dog bowl of water and even offered a dog food menu lol. We grabbed a light dinner mixed with apps and sushi, and everything was fresh and delicious. Service was great and again, the decor was super modern and fun. Will def be back!

Ashley L.

Yelp
Came here for happy hour - super cute spot! Cajun specialty roll and brussel sprouts were my favorite. Server was super friendly and patient as well

Jennifer N.

Yelp
Adorable, romantic little sushi restaurant in the One Santa Fe shopping center/ apartment complex. This is Sam H. and my favorite sushi restaurant in DTLA because it's easy and convenient. The last time we came here, we brought our friends, and now its their's favorite as well! They serve fresh authentic sushi and rolls, and all their Japanese dishes and tempura are delicious! Portions are on the smaller side, may need to order more for sharing. Free parking in the center with validation. But limited parking spots for the center.

Stephanie C.

Yelp
Food was really good but I felt uncomfortable with their charging system. Upon requesting the check, they just brought the credit card machine and told me the total. I didn't receive any printed itemized bill to check if I was being charged correctly. The tip screen shows 20%, 25%, 30%, while the waitress is holding the machine in front of you. After paying I asked for the printed receipt, which is when I've noticed a surcharge for the kitchen I was not notified about ahead. I've been here before. Last time I wasn't the one who paid the bill but I did catch a mistake of them charging my beer more than what is was marked up on the menu.
