The Best Restaurants in Fulham and Putney - Eater London

"It’s something of a relief to visit somewhere as profoundly unpretentious as Nayaab, which has the décor and ambience of many of London’s time-honoured curry houses. There’s nothing old-fashioned about the predominantly organic food, though, especially the excellent slow-cooked lamb shank and very fine monkfish methi." - Alexander Larman

Best Takeaway Food in South West London During Coronavirus Stay at Home - Eater London

"An unpretentious Indian-Punjabi restaurant in Fulham and one of London’s time-honoured curry houses. There’s nothing old-fashioned about this place, though. Expect only aromatic, rich Punjabi specialities such as lahori nihari, a slow-cooked lamb stew in a myriad of spices, and sahi choolay chicken breast with soft masala chickpeas, alongside Indian classics such as bhuna and dhansak. Pre-order online for collection or hit them up on the main delivery options through Deliveroo and Just Eat where there’s free delivery on orders over £10. To ensure the safety of both drivers and customers, there’ll be a contactless delivery option as a mandatory." - Angela Hui

Yelp
Ok, I only ever really order take away from here. So, maybe this is only really half a review. Sorry. To be fair though, it's the same food so it's a full review on that front, it's just the only ambiance I can talk about is the gleam on the plastic bag and the glorious white sheen on the polystyrene. Sorry. They were exemplary though. The good thing about this place is their fresh food policy, they don't use chemical colouring and in general there's a low fat, home cooked healthiness to these meals. I tend to mix it up what I order so I've had a decent proportion of the menu, except the prawns. I don't like those. The samosas are lovely, the lamb gosht from Lahore is a classic, really nice tandorri chicken and the butter chicken is creamy with the right depth of spices. I usually order the Peshwar naan which is great - the dried fruit in it seems to offset the spiciness really well. Anyway, I won't tell you about what rice I order, it's getting boring but all in all it's tasty, fastish (40 minutes at normal times) and although it's not cheap, cheap, it's not crazy either. About £12 per person all in I'd say.

Yelp
I always have a little chuckle to myself when I order a Vindaloo in Austin, Tx. It's generally crap and not spicy one bit. Austin, unfortunately, is a black hole when it comes to authentic loverly spicy vindaloo. Nayaab is little like a black hole on the New Kings Road... very unassuming store front, funky Indian name, and when you go in, you get to walk all the way into the back where you will find about 9 tables. There were five of us tonight, and the service was fabulous and the food wonderful. I opted for the Tandoori Chicken my second favorite Indian Dish. Along with the chicken a couple of veggies were ordered, my favorite being Chana Garam Masaladar, which are wonderful chick peas cooked to a Punjabi recipe. My chicken arrive pipping hot on a hot skillet steaming away quite merrily. The breast and leg we cooked perfectly... Tender bits of chicken fell off the bone with very little effort. The cooking method of Tandoori takes full advantage of infusing the spices and heat of the oven to produce moist tasty bits. Along with the chicken the steamed rice which came out was a great pairing. One of my mates wanted to order the Vindaloo, and the waiter mentioned that it was an extremely hot spice curry.. I just could envision my little mexican friend frying his mouth out with lava, since the heat from the curry is much different than the Jalapeno's he may of been interested in...he chose wisely not to go for the Vindaloo, but the waiter was nice enough to bring him a side dish of the Vindaloo sauce for him to try...After he tried it, he announced that it wasn't very spicy to begin with... I sure he will be screaming for ice cream first thing in the morning... just saying..

Yelp
This place was very good, some of the best Indian food we have had. The hostess (Yasmin) was very welcoming, great atmosphere. Would highly recommend coming here if you are in London.

Yelp
Ordered take away one night in London and had the best Indian food. Every dish was amazing and we ate every last bite. I only hope I can find Indian food this good close to home.

Yelp
It was nearly 9 pm when we arrived and well after 10 when our food arrived.... There were four other diners but the delay was due to "how busy" they were... The lamb was tasty but the biryani was not that good.

Yelp
A decent curry house, the best I've so far come across in Fulham. Specialising in organic produce this has all the traditional curry dishes you would expect, but also some courageous specials that are worth a visit. The wine list is also pretty good, if you are tempted away from the familiar Cobra beer. Polite service too. Decent to eat in our get delivered.

Yelp
The best Indian food I've ever had throughout the world. Just as important, is the fact that the owner will make sure the dish is to your liking, and will not stop trying until it's perfect for you. The best chefs. Brought Indian friends from all over the world, each one convinced it's better than their mom made. If you like, tasty, healthy, interesting, authentic Indian food, at an awesome price, you won't find better in banglatown, or any other town.

Yelp
The food itself was good probably in the top 10 Indian restaurants I've visited. But they clearly do most of there business as takeaways. My table was the only one occupied in the back dining room on a Friday evening. They also make an effort to upsell and tack on small its that inflate the bill. That said the charges for rice and papadum and water are small and probably outweighed by the quality of the curry.

Yelp
We had dinner here on a Friday night and were abit surprised that the place was fairly empty. Nonetheless we were promptly attended to and soon enough our food arrived. The meal was exceptional but the lamb was truly out of this world!

Yelp
Just, no. Lately they're making a lot of mistakes, messing up orders and arriving hours after the order was placed. What happened to Nayaab? Used to be good a few months ago, and now the quality and service have utterly plummeted. Best avoided.
