Yelp
This place is fabulous!!! We got the "Don" pizza I think that's what it's called... it's Sicilian style... delicious crust and sauce... we got it as carry-out but we can't wait to go and enjoy the simple but welcoming ambiance. Parking wasn't an issue for us, however I assume that if it was a busy night we could have had issues. The staff are friendly and welcoming. 10/10 experience!!

Yelp
Ok I do think this is high quality pizza. A tasty and very large Detroit style crust. Good sauce. Thankfully not overloaded with cheese like most Detroit style. I got the pesky Mario and liked the concept a lot. Rapini is bitter, and when they burn it, it tastes even more bitter. I wish the crust was a bit crispier, but it gets a bit soft (though also thankfully it's not super greasy like many Detroit style). I would recommend except...it's wildly expensive for a pizza.

Yelp
This place is fine. I ordered this pizza to split with 4 people which was plenty of food. Service was quick and friendly. Limited beer selection but definitely tasty. But after half a beer and a whole slice of pizza I threw everything up in the bathroom. The rest of my party was fine but I'm suspicious. Probably won't eat here again and wouldn't recommend it for food. Dying to get a cocktail in their lounge though.

Yelp
The adult consensus is that the pizza is "okay." The child really likes it because she didn't have to pay. Down to brass tax. As we ordered, each topping added to the cost of the pizza pie. Arugula costs $4.00, mushrooms cost $3.00, etc, so 1 pie ended up costing $50.00 bucks. We got 2 pies for a total of $80+ bucks because 1 pie was totally Vegan. There are no other options for Non-Pork eaters. There's no ground beef option, no turkey or beef pepperoni option, and their MEATBALLS CONTAIN PORK. I think my biggest gripe with this place is the fact that me, my black daughter, my black friend, and my Korean friend sat in this place to dine and the other diners who didn't look like us just kept gawking and glaring at us as if we weren't supposed to be there. And as soon as I made eye contact with them, they'd quickly avert their eyes in another direction. People don't know that I'm the type of person that will take my food to their table and sit down with them so that they can get a better look at me and get a better listen to the conversation in order for them to join in. I don't like eating at restaurants that make me feel that I shouldn't be there because if that's the case, my family, friends, and I won't go there and I'll advise others not to go there either. All in all, the cashier smiled while doing her job but wasn't much more pleasant than that and she gave us warm tap water in a pitcher with no ice. Oh, she did note that, "She doesn't make the prices." My take on this place is 3 of 5 stars. Customer service is mediocre, I've had better pizza from Rome's Pizza on Wisconsin Ave NW, Ledo's on GA Ave NW, the jumbo slices from Adams Morgan top this too, and shucks I'll even settle for Pizza Hut, or hop on the Mega Bus like my friend said to take the ride to NYC for a nice slice of Italian NYC pizza pie for this price to make a day trip out of it. & FYI: I do most of my reviews on Google where I have 3.9 million views. I'm new to Yelp, however, I'll be reviewing both here and Google now.

Yelp
Sonny's is awesome. Great ambience, fun menu, friendly and attentive service. The one weakness: the pizza can be too salty (probably because it's dusted with a bit too much parmesan) and the salads are a little overdressed. Dial back the salt and the dressing and we're talking 5 stars.
google avatar

Michael Q.

Yelp
We enjoyed the lunch tray style pizza, curvy (old world?) pepperoni that everyone loves, and both salad dressings. Seriously, the Caesar dressing was money. Sonny's entire dining room also FEELS like a lunch room with booths and a big common dining room. Unfortunately, we didn't see the value between the high wine/booze prices and added gratuity. Sonny's is the *first counter order restaurant (you also get/fill your own water) we've seen that adds a 20% gratuity. We'd encourage Sonny's to simply build in the 20% to their food cost to avoid sticker shock; it's confusing that the expos and ______ (we're unsure who else) receive 20% for walking your pizzas less than 20 feet from the kitchen to the table.

Yelp
I thought the pizza was just awful. Admittedly I was unfamiliar with the type of pizza they offered but I didn't enjoy the taste. It was very messy and hard to eat. I like spicy food but it was too spicy. Probably should have ordered just the plain cheese. The lounge was nice and the service was good.

Yelp
I was really excited to try this place out, I've heard about it from so many of my friends and after visiting I see why. It's just a great place to hangout with friends. They've got an amazing outdoor space in back and games for people to use. It's a great place for a larger gathering as well! The service is wonderful and staff are so friendly. The food and drink is great and looking forward to coming back.
google avatar

Brian C.

Yelp
Sonny's pizza is a nice venue to take a group for happy hour after work. The biggest selling point is the space and ambiance. It has a large outdoor seating area that can accommodate large groups. There is nothing special about the pizza, wouldn't recommend it for the food. Also do not expect much at all from the staff in terms of service. You have to track down a staff member to order anything or follow-up on your order. This place probably deserves 1-2 stars but giving it 3 just because of how frequently my work group has visited.

Yelp
Metaphor: a Ferrari engine in a 70's Toyota Camry. Pizza = Great, gourmet, unique combinations quite, but quite pricey! especially if your baseline is Domino's or the Midwest. Ambiance = Comfy , relaxed hipster spin on a proletariat pizza diner Staff = friendly Price / Value = I was unprepared for my take out check - $47 (incl tax) for a large pizza. I didn't even check the prices before ordering. OOPS. I would say it tasted definitely like a $30 pizza IMHO. But I'm assuming all their ingredients are locally sourced and environmentally conscious... Dear G-d let's hope. So, if you have an open ended budget for pizza and your top concern is ethical sourcing/ dining, this is place is for you!

Yelp
Excellent pizza, excellent service, solid ambiance. I have been to Sonny's several times, most recently coming here for a friend's birthday on a weekend night and enjoyed the heated outdoor area. I split a cheese pizza with a friend and received great service, with someone coming to take our order quickly and receiving our pizza in under 10 minutes. I also appreciated that our server let us know that Sonny's had already added a gratuity charge so we didn't need to tip. The pizza is extremely good, a sheet-pan, almost Detroit-style pie. The crust was crispy on the outside, airy in the middle with great flavor. While I would have liked for a little less tomato sauce and more cheese, the sauce was hearty and not too sweet and the cheese was stretchy and melty. I would highly recommend Sonny's for your next casual pizza slice!
google avatar

Susie W.

Yelp
Really delicious sheet pan square pizza slices and full pies. You order at the counter and can sit anywhere if your choice. There are a lot of people coming by and there's a fully covered "pizza garden" in the back with more seating! The pizza was amazing, with fresh and sweet sauce. I highly recommend.

Yelp
Used to love Sonny's - and rave about them to friends - but I think sadly I'm done after 3-4 consecutive bad experiences. Last night they straight up got an order wrong - completely messing up toppings (including adding meat when it was supposed to be a vegetarian pizza). And two other pizzas had the consistent problem we keep seeing at Sonny's, which is that the pizzas just aren't cooked right. The tops - on four consecutive orders now - are consistently burned (I'm talking charred). You lose at least one full slice, and lots of toppings on other slices, to blackened char. At least 20% of the pepperonis on a pepperoni pizza we got were inedibly charred. Worst still, the bottoms seem undercooked, and *every* pizza's dough feels tough, dense, and underproofed. I loved the bold toppings, the Sicilian/Detroit-style, and Sonny's vibe. But at the prices they charge, our orders are just too consistently messed up and bad. These are all bad in their own right, but Sonny's pizzas are quite expensive - and the service fee is astronomical.

Yelp
Sonny's is great! My group ordered a Caesar salad to share. It was a good amount of salad for 3 people and very delicious. We got a half-and-half pizza with the Pesky Mario and the Wolfie. I loved the Wolfie! It was a great combination of toppings and the crust was tasty. The Pesky Mario was good, but I probably would not get it again. The pizza was huge - definitely enough for 4 people to share. The outside area is super cute with long tables that are perfect for a group. Our server was very nice and accommodating. Everything was well priced as well. Would recommend for a fun pizza night with friends!

Yelp
Cute restaurant but not quite...tasty! The food was underwhelming especially flavors and seasoning. Service was perfect though. You order at the truck if you're at the back. It was actually kind weird though cuz when I came we went through the dining room to outside, and nobody was in the dining room. However, the patio is cute and looks like great place to socialize or study. I fear I will not come back again :). Thanks a lot gentrification
google avatar

Jackie W.

Yelp
Patio is a great place to catch up and be outside. Bring bug spray since there are mosquitos and sit under the fan since you'll be way more comfortable. Their pizza looks good. The drinks are not very good. I am not a fan of their cocktails. Their slush is pretty bad. I tried really hard to drink it and it was quite painful. I couldn't take more than 3 sips. The monkey bindle sour ale is meh. It's sour for the sake of being sour without being tasteful.
google avatar

Stellae R.

Yelp
Their Arugula Pizza is to die for. They can get a little busy during dinner time, but service is good. There's a speakeasy bar area that's fun to sit in, and a beer garden outdoor. During the winter it's a little chilly but it's really nice in the summer times. Their Caesar salad is great too.
google avatar

Jason S.

Yelp
(3.5 stars) Not my favorite pizza slice in town (too much Parmesan cheese, crust could be crispier) but I just love this space and the vibes so much. The patio in the back is literally the perfect hang out spot. It's hard to come here with friends and not have a good time.
google avatar

C. Y.

Yelp
Hosted a Story Candles and Goods candle workshop here and it is such a cute space. Once you step out on the patio, you can envision all the ways the space can transform. I got cheese pizza and while it wasn't super hot or cheesy, it' tasted pretty good. Also got the rosé and liked it. I'll def trey other things on the menu. Loved the environment and ambiance.
google avatar

Melissa G.

Yelp
What a cute and unexpected surprise! Stumbled across Sonny's while trying to kill time before a Yelp event and needed a drink. Saw a sign and entered. I was greeted immediately by Ben who gave me the run down and directed me towards the beer garden in the back. I was the only one there but it was cute, quiet and lots of space. The staff was really friendly and nice. Had some wine and a slice before I left. I'm excited to check out the bar area in the middle on the weekend.
google avatar

Michelle I.

Yelp
I had a great time! The food was pretty good. The portion sizes were very generous. Great ambiance. The service was pretty good.

Eric C.

Yelp
Never had pizza ruin my night before but, Sonny's managed to do that. Ordered a pizza with Pepperoni. Came with sauce pepperoni and basil. No cheese. What is that? Something like this should be a special order item. For example, I would like a pizza with pepperoni only. No cheese. Otherwise unsuspecting people will be receiving pizza without cheese and leaving bad reviews.
google avatar

Mary T.

Yelp
Come for the pizza, stay for the vibes! The back patio is spacious, warm and cozy in the winter. Great for large parties and/or hosting get togethers. I had a work goodbye party here and have attended other celebrations happy hours. They really load up on the toppings on the pizza. I got arugula & chili oil and it was like a salad and parts were pretty spicy. I like their pepperoni and mushroom pizza as well! Decent drink selection too and I love the big ice cream sandwiches.

Tushar K.

Yelp
Delicious pizza, great wine, perfect ambiance, family-friendly, great service, but a VEGAN TAX I love this restaurant but cannot understand why they double-charge customers for vegan cheese. The tomato pizza (no cheese) is $24. The cheese pizza (with mozzarella) is $28. Therefore, I can assume that mozzarella cheese is $4 of the cost of every pizza. If you add vegan cheese to the tomato pizza, it's an additional $8, for a total of $32. This is an incremental $4 for the vegan pizza vs. the mozzarella pizza. So if I want to order the Pesky Mario pizza (originally $32 with mozzarella) with vegan cheese, I would suspect that you would substitute the mozzarella ($4) for vegan cheese ($8) which would add an incremental +$4 for a total of $36. Instead, Sonny's charges you for the mozzarella cheese AND the vegan cheese, so the pizza costs $40 It's just basic arithmetic. Pretty disappointing. Really wish Sonny's would fix this. But again, pizza was phenomenal. Service was fantastic. The pizza garden is to die for
google avatar

Roxy A.

Yelp
Absolutely love this place. The pizza garden is one of the best-kept secrets of D.C. You have to go through a bar to get here. It has a hipster-y vibe. There will always be people no matter when you go. I've been here a few times and love the square pizza. It's also great that you can get pizza-by-the-slice and gluten-free pizzas, in addition to a whole rectangle pizza. I find the pizza sauce a bit sweeter than I'd like. I also do not like how they close at 9 p.m., which makes it harder for it to be a late-night chill spot. Wish they were open till 11.
google avatar

Suzanne S.

Yelp
Excellent pizza and service. Highly recommend this place!!! In fact everything they serve is delicious.
google avatar

Samantha L.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I got pizza delivered Sonny's Pizza. We didn't like how they charged $3.99 to deliver 0.2 miles. Since there was a $15 minimum, we had to get 4 slices. They serve sheet pan style pizza. We enjoyed a slice of Cheese, Pepperoni, and Mushroom! The Cheese slice consisted of tomato sauce, cheese, and fresh basil. The Pepperoni slice consisted of tomato sauce, cheese, and lots of pepperoni. The Mushroom slice consisted of tomato sauce, cheese, and roasted mushrooms. All of the pizza slices tasted great. However, we felt that the crust could have been cooked longer!

Yelp
If you don't know by now...I LOVE PIZZA!! Thin crust, thick crust, N.Y. style, Detroit style, Chicago style...I LOVE PIZZA!! Well this spot specializes in Pizza, Beer, & Wine! With inside seating available, there is a full bar in the back of this place. It has a old pizza parlor feel, with updated food...I walked in... Where I am: @sonnyspizzadc . Location Reviewed: 3120 Georgia Ave., N.W. Washington D.C. . Menu Includes: Cheese Pizza, Mushroom Pizza, Pepperoni Pizza, Arugula & Chili sauce Pizza, craft Salads, sandwiches, Chicken, & Eggplant Parmigiana's, and Meatballs & Ricotta. Pizza Toppings include olives, pepperoni, capers, onions, arugula, mushrooms, roasted peppers, salami, & anchovies. . Reviewed; Their cheese slice (with tomato, mozzarella, & basil $3.75). STAMP!! The CRUST is flavored, airy, and it's not too thick or thin!! . Their pepperoni slice (with tomato, mozzarella, & pepperoni $4.25). STAMP!! Plenty of pepperoni, each bite is amazing!! . Their mushroom slice (with roasted cremini, portobello, tomato, mozzarella, & thyme $4.00). DECENT only because the crust was overcooked. . Their Arugula & Chili oil slice (with tomato, mozzarella, arugula, chili oil, & grana $4.25). Absolutely DELICIOUS!! It looked like too much arugula...but it gave the pie that extra burst of flavor, and the chili topped it off with hot spices!! . Their eggplant parmigiana (fried eggplant, tomato sauce, mozzarella, & basil, with sesame toasted focaccia $12.75). STAMP!! I make my own eggplant parm...this one was done well!! . Customer Service: Attentive, & Catering. . Online Navigation: Super Easy . Parking: Rough, metered street parking . Recommendations: Get the cheese and/or pepperoni slices!! TRUST!! =STAMP =DELICIOUS =DECENT =PASS =NAH #bigschlimsreviews

Yelp
I would come here to pick up some slices or a pie to share. Don't recommend the eggplant red sauce. It felt like this battered patty that was pretty dry and sad. Just get the pie. And do not recommend if you are coming to chat/convo w your friends (at least in the back). And i need to talk about this seating/service system: There are three sections(?) to eat for dine in. The front indoors is a nice diner vibe, the middle is a bar, the back is set up with many picnic tables lined up in this large roofed area w lights and a truck w drinks. We asked to sit in the back and were told they were full. We were told to wait 15-20 min and they would bring us to the back. They told us to go back but our menus didnt show up/didnt receive it. Then two waiters were saying two different things. This is only part of the story so I'll stop here. And little did we know the back is literally a cafeteria. It was crowded w so many ppl almost every table was taken, and there are so many, that it was hard to maneuver around and so loud we couldnt hear each other talk -- mind this was a weekend.

Yelp
They changed their hours so that they are now closed on Mondays instead of Tuesdays, but did not update on here. Boooo! I was hungry.
google avatar

Dan M.

Yelp
Very satisfied with Sonnys. It's a pizza spot serving up whole pies or pizzas by the slice. You are free to order ahead online or just stop in to order. We only tried the pepperoni, but it was great. Every inch of the slice was covered in pepperonis, the pepperoni coverage is probably the best I've ever seen. The slice is thicker than average but not quite deep dish, but with all the toppings, it is not too bready. They sell some local beers by the can and some pre-mixed cocktails to wash it all down. Top notch.
google avatar

Laura P.

Yelp
Treated ourselves to Friday happy hour on the back patio. We were so pleasantly surprised by how spacious and comfortable atmosphere. Our server was very genial and our food and drinks came out quickly. My dining date got a cocktail that was smokey, a slow sipper. I enjoyed an Aslin IPA beer on tap. We got the tomato pie and added arugula to it. I liked the softer chewy crust and the sweet sort of tomato paste sauce. They also did not skimp on the greens! However, the menu said it had basil and we couldn't taste or see it.. same with the garlic. I do wish that they had vegan cheese so we could have gotten the pizza that felt a little bit more like a pizza. Full pie is definitely enough for two to three people.
google avatar

Karen W.

Yelp
The pizza and cocktails are out of this world, although there isn't a bit of sausage on the pizza additions. Every piece of pizza I eat from this point forward will be compared to Sonny's.
google avatar

John B.

Yelp
It's different. Personal pizzas have become widespread, but here, the choice is between ordering by the slice (which costs a lot and doesn't give you topping choices) or getting a very large rectangular pizza. It says it serves 4-6, which I was a bit skeptical of, but I couldn't finish more than half of one hungry; with some apps you probably could feed four. When you look at it that way, it's not cheap but not crazy expensive either. I'm not sure what the style is, honestly; it's a square bready crust, but as crispy as Grandma or Detroit style pizzas I've tried. I got their one vegetarian specialty pizza, a Pesky Mario, with some trepidation because it had rapini and I'm not big on the cruciferous vegetables in general. Turns out I'm not a rapini fan. It is rather bitter, and boy was there a ton of it. I can't say they aren't generous with toppings, but in this case the mushroom and chili was hard to even taste. Lucky for them, I took advantage of their buy one get one half off and got a plain cheese pizza as well, which arrived with some pleasantly soft basil leaves. I liked that much better, and if I ordered from them again, I'd start with cheese and add a topping or two. I also got garlic knots, which were really pesto knots. Again, it just wasn't to my taste, really. The pesto was okay in combination with the tomato sauce on the side, but too bitter and tangy by itself. And the whole meal was overly salty, leaving me needing to drink quite a bit of water. I'm not anti-salt, but in excess it can be either a crutch for lack of flavor (not really true in this case) or just an overindulgence. I'd advise them to cut back a bit. A green salad with finely shaved radish was a nice touch; happy with that. The place was reasonably busy on a Sunday night. My carryout order was ready in pretty much exactly the 20 minutes they said it would be. It's not a special diet place; not vegan cheese or gluten-free crusts or anything, just straight pizza. My opinion of them comes out pretty mixed; given the plentiful pizza options these days, I'll probably try other places before coming back.

Yelp
Best pizza in DC in my not-so-humble opinion. I lived in NYC for 10 years and grew up visiting family in Chicago, so I think I can legitimately say I have expertise in pizza! We got pizza with red onions and arugula. The sauce, the crust, the ingredients were all fresh and delicious. I am definitely coming back. My only complaint was we sat on the back patio and the sound was deafening. I would never sit out there again. It wasn't even that crowded but something about the acoustics seemed to make it very loud.

Yelp
TLDR: came for the food, stayed for the waitstaff Just came here with my roommate and such a cute little family friendly but wild place! You must try the Golden Child Slushie (gin, vodka, vsop cognac, meyer lemon, orange) plus great deals on beer pitchers. Don't get me wrong the patio gets hot as heck during a hot summer day but not as hot as the cute as a button waitstaff. Especially our waiter the great guy with red hair and the other one who also made the experience memorable. For food we ordered the meatballs + ricotta, chicken parm, and the farro salad. Warning the farro salad is not a lettuce or greens based salad but yummy nonetheless. The chicken parm and the meatballs + ricotta came with a slice of focaccia, which was incredible, we even asked for more for the road. We came to Sonny's for the italian food and summer deals, but stayed for the memories and great moments with Sonny's staff. We could have ventured someplace with air conditioning, but we would have missed out on a great night of fun, music, vibes, and other patrons. I cannot emphasize enough how much we recommend spending a fun summer night at Sonny's! I cannot not emphasize enough our waiter (M, 21, shoulder length red hair, name rhymes with Moe) was a joy and a blessing. Please give this hole in the wall/hidden gem a chance because boy is it worth it.

Yelp
Sonny's seems like an extremely cute and quaint place, but I find I run into more problems when I go then I should. It's a simple pizza, wine, and a few other Italian dishes spot. I find that every time I come here that the service is rude and I feel like a "burden" as a customer. The food is just okay and I would say it's pretty expensive for the experience of being there. Overall, I'm pretty good not coming back.
google avatar

Kathleen P.

Yelp
Can't rave enough about Sonny's. The pizza is always delicious and the staff are welcoming every time. We have become regulars here and always bring friends that come into town and want to experience "real DC".
google avatar

Lauren P.

Yelp
We ordered two pizzas for delivery and were extremely disappointed with the quality. We live only about half a mile from the location (maybe a little less), but the pizzas were room temp by the time they arrived. They were soggy AND burned on the bottom, which was a weird combination. The dough was almost like focaccia -- doughy and kind of wet from the sauce. My husband, who loves almost any pizza, opted to throw out almost 3/4 of each pizza because we couldn't bring ourselves to eat more than one slice.

Jon C.

Yelp
I will never order pizza again from this place. I've ordered half a dozen times and the delivery is always always always wrong. I order a whole pizza and they send one slice. I don't understand how someone fills a $70 order and puts 2 pieces of pizza in a box and thinks that makes sense?
google avatar

Mischa J.

Yelp
This is a very nice pizza place and the pizza was good, but the pizza was not hot, even right when it got to my table. It was lukewarm at most. It was also a bit hard to cut. The beer selection could be better, but they do have a few good beers. I kind of like it how the tip is already included in the bill, which is the way it should be around the United States, and the way that it already is in most countries. I also think that things were a bit overpriced here, but it was good overall. The staff were nice, too. The decor was pretty neat.

Yelp
Super interesting pizza! I was a big fan of this place. We were looking to order takeout for a large bachelorette party and figured pizza would be the easiest option. Sonny's stood out for its interesting flavor combos and we decided to give it a go. One of the girls wanted to try one of the seasonal salads, but it wasnt showing up on the delivery app. After a couple of calls over to the restaurant, they helped us troubleshoot the issue. We got a caesar salad, farro salad, pesky mario, and wolfie. The caesar salad was okay, but the bread they use (more on this below) is super doughy so the croutons did not have the typical "crunch" you expect from a caesar, which was a little disappointing. The farro salad was alright, but the farro didn't seem to absorb much of the vinagrette flavor. The pizzas were the star of the show. These things were HUGE. We got 2 of them for 10 girls and were snacking on them all weekend and still didn't finish. They were that big. The dough is very bread-like, almost like a foccacia. It worked well with the flavors we got but is not your typical pizza, and you'll need to take care to heat it up the right way so it retains some crunch. The pizzas are absolutely loaded up with toppings. The wolfie was definitely our favorite. Tons of pepperoni, nice and crispy with some good spice.

Yelp
The vibe and the pizza is incredible at this place but the pace and quality of service could use some work. I found that the servers weren't super attentive and the drinks took an excessively long time when I have been.
google avatar

Abbey O.

Yelp
I came here basically every Friday when I used to live off Georgia Ave. It was so good and worth it. Not many places in the District I found that carried Allagash White. The staff are so attentive and friendly. It's so rare to find a business where the staff are genuinely happy to see customers. Now onto the food, their pizza is square slices which cook a little different than a traditional pie. The crust gets nice and crispy, as does the pepperoni on top. It's that nice traditional Naples style pizza with the sauce on top and cheese underneath. Since covid I know that they've been doing curbside pick up for drinks and selling meal kits. I just did a few drinks to go once. And now I saw that their back deck and pizza garden are open. That is a really cool spot to hang out with a Pesky Mario style Pizza and the converted camper in the back to buy drinks from if No Kisses isn't open for a cocktail. All in all we need to support this business to make sure they survive covid because their one of the best.
google avatar

Emily M.

Yelp
If you're looking for a fun outdoor spot to hang with friends and have (DC's version of) affordable, good eats + drinks, Sonny's is perfect for that. The Caesar salad was standard and fresh, with yummy garlicky croutons. The cider I ordered was delicious and unlike any I've had before. And the pizza was good! Not the best I've ever had, but better than other DC pizza places. I like Sicilian/square pizza so this worked for me, but if you're more into thin pizza or like crust, maybe skip it. Huge portions though so that's great! They seem to be super busy and understaffed at the moment so service was lacking, but would be happy to go back.

Luv For A.

Yelp
$40 for a pizza delivered cold and so burnt it was inedible. It was also literally dripping in grease from the box on arrival.

Yelp
Delicious! Originally from NJ, I'm a thin crust guy. But this pizza is awesome. Thicker crust - think school lunch or Ellio's - except WAY better and still super crunchy. Another tell tale sign of good pizza: tiny curled up crispy pepperoni. That's the only way it should be. Those floppy flat lifeless pepperonis - get 'em outta here! Add some solid beers, great service, and an awesome, homey, Italian-focused atmosphere - you can't go wrong. Highly recommend this spot.

Yelp
From Buffalo, I think DC pizza is generally pretty terrible. This place, however, was pretty awesome. It's a thinner crust that chars on the outside and it's really tasty. A lot of ppl complaining about the burnt crust, but (I think) a lot of people like it that way (myself included). Have gone back a couple times since going the first time and will be back. The place also has a decent selection of beer and a back bar, which I have not tried.

Yelp
Pizza is great and ambience is very good , superb patio. However for a place that makes you order at the cashier, serve your own water, fetch silverware and ask for dishes a 20% MANDATORY GRATUITY seems excessive. What the "service fee" is for a place that does not even move chairs for customers or provide ANY service? I hope they pay employees well, charging $35 for a large pizza, but they should not transfer that cost as an EXTRA CHARGE TO CUSTOMERS.
