"This multilevel place in Hell’s Kitchen is a reliable weeknight standby. Bottoms Up is the low-key downstairs bar - but we always go straight to Vodka Soda upstairs for drag and dancing. It’s a place to remember when you don’t want to go home quite yet, but you do want to dance to Top 40 with your friends." - Rob Anderson

Yelp
One of those things that I didn't know I needed was their omurice. Therefore, I don't go there for ramen, I go there for that item. And the waitstaff is trained to tell people the timing of taking pictures/video for social media when you are served with the item. I thought it was a nice touch to it. They open late, which I like. And also I like the fact that they have a strong wifi in the restaurant. I do feel I need to try their noodle item next time as well. But whenever I sit down there though, my thinking is, I can get ramen anywhere, why not get something you cannot get often and I end up getting Omurice, if you know what I mean by it

Yelp
This place used to be good, but now it's just average. The interior is inviting and still the same and hasn't changed since my last visit. Ordered 2 bowls of ramen (average) with a side of purple yam fries (no flavor). Made one a combo with the steamed bun (best item) and lemonade. Service was good, but kitchen staff were all on their phones, like they can't go to the back and play with their phones. Handling the phone then the food...

Yelp
Since we needed a location for 6 people, we came to this location. I ordered my go-to the spicy kimchi ramen, but felt this broth was not as spicy and the side I ordered of tofu had no flavor so that was underwhelming. The side of grilled scallops were tasty, but FYI this only came with 3 small pieces of scallops. Also, you can't really customize and request to add a side of specific things to some of the items which was not ideal. Side note - they only take 2 cards maximum, and it has to be split evenly.

Yelp
Food was surprisingly bland. Tasted pre made like mall or airport food. Came out fairly quick and service was prompt. Most people eating there seemed like tourists from the Midwest. Portion was large and prices were reasonably affordable. Good place if you're looking for functional food to fill you up. Also there really aren't any other ramen places nearby in the immediate area.

Yelp
It's getting chilly now, which is the perfect time to get ramen! You have prob seen Kyuramen all over the city, so no reason to not check them out. The interior of each location is well decorated. I opted for the Times Square one. We ordered: Classic Japanese omurice combo (demi-glazed sauce and Thai iced tea) Toyko tonkotsu shouyu Eel avocado burger Honestly, you can't go wrong with anything from their menu. But it's not a place to wow a date. It's more a casual, let's catch up over a bowl of ramen vibe.

Yelp
We were looking for a bite after a show and I'm so glad we ended up here. It's a small place but we were sat right away. The server was quick but kind and offered suggestions. I ordered the Mega ramen, and it was so good and also so sizable. The broth was rich with such a depth of flavor and all the add-ins were cooked perfectly included the egg.

Yelp
Solid spot for late night ramen after a show. The service was fast, and the ramen was tasty.

Yelp
Randomly found this spot in Times Square while waiting to get a facial nearby. I was a bit worried that there would be a long wait time to be seated since it's not a big establishment, and there was a very long line. However, we got seated rather quickly and I was impressed by how calm our waiter was given how many people continued to pour in. I knew the food had to be good. We sat and enjoyed our meal for about an hour on a Thursday night at the place did not slow down with patrons. Our ramen was delicious- 10/10! We both got the Tonkatsu ramen and added the great additives they leave on each table to make our ramen even spicier. Dumplings weren't the best I've ever had but, definitely tasty and a solid 8/10. They fry the dumplings as one, which you have to break apart to eat individually, that presents itself almost as a scallion pancake. They over a $40 deal where you can get the ramen of your choice, pork buns or, dumplings, lemonadade or Thai iced tea and a dessert. I thought this was a great deal and many of the patrons that night went for the deal that I think I may try next time. Definitely worth giving this place a try.

Yelp
After a night of watching a Broadway show and exploring Times Square, my wife and I, along with our friends, were craving something warm and comforting. Luckily, we found this ramen spot within walking distance, and it was the perfect choice for a midnight meal. The restaurant's interior had a traditional design that immediately set a cozy and authentic mood. We were seated in a private booth, which made the dining experience feel intimate and enjoyable, perfect for winding down after a busy evening. Our server wasn't particularly friendly, but he was efficient and accommodating with anything we needed. They had an interesting way to get the server's attention, by pressing a button on the side of the table, which I found to be incredibly convenient and a nice touch. I ordered the Katsuobushi Pork Ramen, and it truly hit the spot!! The broth was rich and flavorful, and the noodles were cooked to perfection. My entire group was equally satisfied with their orders, and we all agreed that it was the perfect way to end the night. Overall, we left feeling full and content. If you're in the area and craving a warm, hearty bowl of ramen, this place is a solid choice, especially after a long day of sightseeing.

Yelp
My favorite aspect of this restaurant are the booths (for parties of 4 or more) near the back of the restaurant, which provide a bit of privacy with shaded curtains. You can ping the staff with a buzzer to avoid leaving the table, and they also come by to check on you periodically. Bathrooms are small but clean. I liked the spicy tonkotsu ramen and the fried squid; the ramen bowls seem smaller at first glance, but are deeper than usual, meaning you do get a good amount of food for your buck. The noodles were chewy and the broth was flavorful. Probably wouldn't get the rice crab "burger" again. The rice was too hot to handle (it was made extremely fresh at least) even with the gloves they provide you, and after deconstructing the burger, it was only so-so. One pro tip is to check in on Yelp for a free red bean matcha pudding. They're actually pretty nice looking, and not too sweet (it's more on the bitter side). They don't skimp on the matcha. Was a great way to finish off the meal. The last thing to note is that while it's indeed a Japanese restaurant, there's a distinct Chinese flair to Kyuramen. The staff all spoke Cantonese, the music was C-pop, and even the ramen had a Chinese food feel to it. Didn't bother me since I myself am Canto, but just something to keep in mind.

Yelp
Did a take out from this establishment and everything is packed so well. Noodles are on a second tier above the soup. All other ingredients are on a separate container. Extra egg order is also separate. Service is also fast. I think I got my lunch within 10 minutes of ordering. Ramen is yummy delicious, hits the right spot when you're not feeling 100%. Such comfort food. Run by Chinese owners but authenticity is quite close to real Japanese ramen. Restaurant looks clean and bright. Only thing is that I checked in on Yelp and supposed to receive a dessert but didn't because it's only for dine in. Oh well...

Stephanie T.

Yelp
Tasty and not super busy. The staff is polite and the portions are good. I think the broth for my ramen looks a little different from the one on the menu, so I thought it would taste differently

Andrew L.

Yelp
Good choice for ramen in a Times Square location convenient to the Broadway theaters. Had the Yinyang Bowl which was a nice combination of two types of ramen. The Okonomiyaki as a side order was not bad. The curtain-draped tables provide a nice environment for groups to socialize. Service was very responsive.

Nini M.

Yelp
BOMB!! Must try! We got seated right away. Service was nice!! I got the spicy tonkatsu and my bf got the spicy miso. Both really good loaded with noodles and meat! I'm so full!! The broth was delicious!! Must try

Amara V.

Yelp
It's our go to spot for late night eats. We've mainly only tried the Omurice or Tonkatsu Ramen. You can also get bubble tea here. It's annoying that you can't order just omurice though, they force you to get a drink with it.

Katherine T.

Yelp
oooooh man! this place was so good. we enjoyed everything we ordered. My kiddo even got a free crepe cake slice for their birthday! The service was so kind and fast and we loved how intimate it felt. We definitely want to try their other location as well that has the honey comb style seating!

Yelp
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Kyuramen, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish! The moment we walked in, we were greeted with a warm, welcoming atmosphere and a modern, stylish interior that immediately set the tone for a fantastic meal. We decided to try a variety of dishes, and each one was a hit. The popcorn chicken was perfectly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, seasoned just right to give it a delicious flavor that kept us reaching for more. The beef rice burger was a unique and delightful surprise -- the rice buns were soft yet held together well, and the beef was juicy and flavorful, making every bite a satisfying experience. The chicken bao buns were another highlight. The buns were light and fluffy, filled with tender, well-marinated chicken, and topped with fresh, crisp vegetables. They were the perfect balance of flavors and textures, creating a mouthwatering combination that we couldn't get enough of. To complement our meal, myself and my team members ordered the Thai tea, which was rich, creamy, and refreshingly sweet. It was the perfect accompaniment to the savory dishes and provided a nice balance to the overall dining experience. The staff at Kyuramen were friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. The service was prompt, and the restaurant itself was clean and well-maintained, adding to the overall pleasant ambiance. Overall, Kyuramen exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend Kyuramen to anyone looking for a unique and tasty meal. I can't wait to return and try more of their offerings!

Yelp
Came in late around 11pm and our group of 3 was seated in one of the private curtained rooms. I ordered the curry ramen with tonkatsu. The curry broth was good, but the tonkatsu was already submerged in the soup when I got it, so it ended up being pretty soggy and the breading was coming off/detaching from the meat when I bit into it. It's a minor thing, but I would've preferred the cutlet to be crispier. Still, the flavors of the ramen were good and my friends enjoyed their items as well. The floor was really slippery in the hallway when we came in so that was a little weird. My friend mentioned that the bathroom wasn't very clean. It was nice to have a private room though. Overall this place was a decent spot for a late night meal, but not sure if I'd seek it out again.

Jason C.

Yelp
Ramen is actually decent. It's everything else taste half ass. Tonkatsu tasted like fry oil. It didn't have panko breading. It look like a frozen Schnitzel. Fried rice for my omurice was tasteless and the peas were dry. The demiglace tasted like brown cornstarch. Takoyaki octopus was rubbery. Service was ok.

Stacy C.

Yelp
Very happy with our meal. Fantastic experience. Great and fast service. Authentic menu. Will return soon.

Yelp
If you're looking for flavorful and satisfying ramen, Kayuramen is a must-visit! I tried the chicken ramen and the spicy garlic edamame, and both were absolutely delicious. The chicken ramen had a rich, savory broth and perfectly cooked noodles, making it the ultimate comfort food. The toppings were fresh and well-balanced, adding just the right amount of texture and flavor. The spicy garlic edamame was the perfect appetizer packed with bold garlic flavor and a spicy kick that kept me reaching for more. It's a must-try if you love a little heat with your snack. Overall, Kayuramen delivers on taste and quality. I'll definitely be back to explore more of their menu!

Stephanie A.

Yelp
I visited this place based on a friend's recommendation while I was in New York, and stopped by for lunch. I ordered the katsu chicken with a side of rice, while my friends chose the tonkotsu ramen and the tonkotsu spicy ramen. The ramen was delicious, but the katsu chicken was undercooked and lacked seasoning to my taste. The rice was also a bit mushy, though that might just be my preference. On the plus side, the staff was very friendly, the atmosphere was relaxing, and the place was exceptionally clean. It's worth a visit if you're in the area.

Amy H.

Yelp
We stopped by here cause it was so cold outside. I'd say it's a great place if you're looking for a ramen place without reservations. Had their shoyou tonkatsu ramen!

I C.

Yelp
Better than "average" but not ahhhhhmazzzzzing. Technically 3.75 stars so I'll round up to 4. Yes how generous of me, right? Haaaaa We were finishing up our visit to the Big Apple and in the mood for ramen / Japanese. We had been to Zen on a prev trip which is SO GOOD (definitely our favorite - read my review!) but wanted to "expand our horizons" and find some place new. So we pulled out Yelp (but of course!) and started searching. Kyuramen, from all the high ratings and reviews (including pics and proximity to our hotel (walking distance)), was the solid choice and our pick for the evening. This place when you walk in is TINY. But we didn't mind that - we liked the coziness of the interior making it feel like a neighborhood joint sort of off the beaten path. As you walk inside, there's a front seating area and then a wraparound counter that wraps around the exposed cooking area much like you'd find at a sushi bar and also **just like you'd see in Japan at a local noodle shop.** I could see further in the back there looked to be some seating way in the back (the place is long and thin) - ah, saw the pics - there are a number of private curtained booths and some additional tables...but you know what? I don't like the back area - very closed off, no natural light, pretty basic back there. I'd opt for the upfront seating even if it's at the counter. Party of 2 - we grabbed 2 seats at the counter which was a fun, casual way to enjoy our ramens and beers. We ordered a Kyushu Spicy Tonkatsu $17.99 and a Curry Ramen with Tonkatsu $19.99 + $1.50 for "Extra Spicy Sauce" which we had no idea until the bill arrived that we would be charged extra for that (not cool). I've posted pics of the menu, ramens and bill which was $50.60 before tip - I'd say for NYC (or really anywhere anymore), that's not horrible for a sit down full-service dinner for 2. How were the ramens? Pretty good. Both of them. Not bad. But not amazing. Served fresh and piping hot just the way we like 'em, noodles were chewy just so, ingredients were fresh. Portion size could have been larger for the price. Flavors could have been bolder. We both remarked that Zen (also with unbelievably consistently high ratings on Yelp) remains the standard bearer of ramen in the City for all around taste, portion size, flavor and price/value. I do like Kyuramen's ambiance - as I said, it feels like a cool local neighborhood joint without all the trappings of going to a Nobu or Jean Georges or Wolfgang Puck-type "see and be seen" type place (along with the prices they feel they can justify charging). I like discovering out of the way, hole in the wall places like this place. Well anyway, our ramen dinner here was fine. No major issues. Glad we came and tried. But we'll continue to search for other ramen joints in the City to add to our list of go-to favorites when we're in town. (And we'll of course report our future findings - good or bad - here on Yelp.) PS RESERVATIONS TAKEN! Hallelujah! We made 'em even though we didn't need them. But, come on - if you can make them, why wouldn't you??!!

Christina C.

Yelp
Great after show place to have a late snack. They have cute booths in the back with curtains. You can make reservations online. So many combos to choose from. Crispy corn is spicy if you can't handle spice. Extra noodles is a great deal. The pork bao was good. Bread was a little too much proportionate to the meat. Ramens were both good. Nothing spectacular but good. The booth has buttons to press to call someone when you need something.

Erinn P.

Yelp
Went for pre-show dinner around 5pm on a Friday. It was really quiet when we arrived, but had picked up with a wait for tables by the time we left. Despite thus, we didn't feel rushed out. Service was fast and friendly. My friend had the veggie ramen and it was loaded with toppings and noodles. I had the omelet rice with curry sauce. It was exactly what I wanted from a soft Japanese style omelet. There was a bit too much sauce, but it was really tasty (just messy!) A nice little spot for a fast sitdown meal pre-show.

Eugenia Y.

Yelp
This was the first time that I had Kyuramen and I thought it was a solid place to get ramen, though not the absolute best in the city. I think it does well in a pinch though, and if I lived in the area, this would be an extremely convenient place to get a quick bowl of ramen. The service was pretty good--I'd say that they were slightly above average in terms of their attentiveness to us. Overall: perfectly fine if you're in the area and are looking for something warm and comforting, but not anything to write home about, and definitely not anything to go out of your way for.

Denise E. S.

Yelp
Very fast service and food was great! Loved being in the quiet pod with nobody looking at us or bothering us. Calling for service at the time we want is the best!

Winnie T.

Yelp
Its a good ramen place. Not authentic (this one is Chinese I believe), but still really good. We actually didn't end up ordering ramen because the egg over rice dish (can't remember the name) looked so tempting. I believe it is around $25, and comes with a fairly large portion, as well as a thai ice team or lemon drink. Its reasonably priced given the location and amount of food. The server brings the dish to your table and prepares the final stages in front of you. Everything was really tasty. Even though there was so much food, I couldn't stop eating. Service is quick and friendly.

Dionne F.

Yelp
Ok, food came out hella quick, which sometimes worries me. The popcorn chicken is good (def not the best I've had, but still pretty good). The Amazing lemonade SLAPS and totally lives up to its name. Ramen is really freakin good. I went with #2 (can't remember which one, but I liked it). It's hot outside, but nice and cool in doors, so you aren't sweating over your bowl of ramen. For less than $40 you can get an appetizer, ramen, dessert, and a lovely beverage. That's a good deal for NY. I'll def be back.

Sai V.

Yelp
Came here after we were done watching our Broadway show! It was perfect! We got our own room party of 8 and everything tasted amazing! We were very satisfied with the service and how quick the food came out and everyone was nice and helpful! Flavors were great and when we return back to NYC we will definitely revisit this place!

Lisa E.

Yelp
Very goodm excellent ! Modern, clean..literally on Restaurant Row, I've passed this spot a million times.. on this occasion we needed a quick bite pre Hamilton, which is across the Avenue. What makes them special is that there are few excellent dining choices in this area that is saturated with chaos & chain restaurants. I wouldn't travel here, you can find as good or more exciting spots in other areas of the city, but in this Theater District/Times Square radius, absolutely solid Ramen. Prices are beyond reasonable, service efficient. Do not hesitate to try Kyuramen. They have a few "booths" with curtain, cute ! Absolutely not the worst ramen, do not listen to that person. Especially one who calls Nori/Seaweed vile..what's with that ? geez

YeNa C.

Yelp
The food is good but they take forever to take it all out. I wanted all my food all at once but the ramen came out first and i think i waited 20 mins for the omurice to come out. Deff let your server know u want it all at once or ur noods will bloat!! Also a must for the pork omurice, tbh its a lot better than the ramen! Overall they have these table booths covered by a curtain for a nice private place to enjoy ur food in peace. The food was good. I just wish the food came out all at once.

Shane A.

Yelp
Great stop before or after a broadway show. We got seated when we walked in and waters/menus came. We ordered a ramen and a omurice to share. Ramen was my son's favorite, especially since it was a dual ramen with 2 different types. He really enjoyed the spicy miso one which had rich tones and chewy noodles. The omurice was also good with the curry sauce. We ordered some other side dishes that went well with our meal. Quick service, good food for a good price. Can't beat that in the middle of Times Square.

Angela E.

Yelp
I had heard about this place online and knew if I was ever in NYC I wanted to give it a try. So glad I did!! Set on Restaurant Row in a great part of the city. Small restaurant tucked at the base of the building, with Japanese decor. Staff were friendly and helpful providing great recommendations. The ramen was delicious - all three flavors we tried were a hit! We even won a free ramen that we shared with a young local couple to enjoy later!

Sally V.

Yelp
Delicious food. The omurice was served with pork katsu and was so creamy and rich. I also loved the yakitori skewers. They had a ramen special with half and half so I loved that I was able to try two broths. My favorite one was the spicy one. The service was very good. Ambience was just like any other kyuramen location with the iconic wooden pallet wall.

Samantha N.

Yelp
Spicy tonkatsu ramen had so much flavor, just the perfect amount of spicy and the gyozas as well as takoyaki was amazing!!

Stephen L.

Yelp
Quality ramen spot with tasty offerings and late hours. I did one of their special combos which consists of an appetizer, ramen, dessert, and drink for $30 + additional costs for certain items (but it's a pretty good deal). Takoyaki balls - delicious lightly fried balls with tender octopus and soft dough inside; the sauce and crunch on top further enhanced the flavor Sapporo miso ramen - delicious classic ramen with all the traditional ingredients Black and white couple ramen ($20, separate from the combo) - unique bowl split in two so that you can get two different ramens in one bowl; the main difference was just the broth but both sides were very tasty Matcha pudding with red bean - great end to the meal; pudding had a nice consistency with good matcha flavor and was not too sweet Taro smoothie with lychee jelly - this is one of their drinks from the T Baar upstairs; they have lots of different drink options and this is good for any taro lovers; I think they added a bit too much sugar for my liking though The restaurant itself has a classic ramen shop vibe with a bar area in the center and additional tables for seating as well. The place is clean and the service speed was fast. They are also open until 1:30am everyday, which is convenient. My only bit of constructive feedback is the staff could be a bit friendlier - the young guys at the front seemed a bit tired and could have put a bit more effort into smiling and checking in on us. Overall, Kyuramen is a great spot for ramen (especially late night ramen) in Midtown.

Ruth M.

Yelp
We were looking for somewhere to eat Ramen and came across this place in Times Square. You walk in it seems small but when you only do one thing, you can do it really. You place your order at the cashier and then they find a seat for you. There were two of us and they escorted us immediately to our seats. The Tonkatsu Ramen was delicious and full of flavor. This place is always busy but worth a little bit of a wait. When in New York you have to try this place.

Quynh M.

Yelp
I've been here several times and kept forgetting to post a review. Was always focused on eating the yummy food! This time was no different- quick service, friendly staff and amazing ramen :-) Love sitting at the counter and watching the chefs. Highly recommend if you want ramen!

Kristina T.

Yelp
My friend and I were looking for a quick lunch spot in the Times Square area and stumbled upon Kyuramen. Despite the short staffing, we were seated quickly, and our food came fast. The only slow part was getting the bill, but we still managed to make it a quick lunch. A few months later, we came to Kyuramen again and had the same experience. Despite it being a ramen shop, the menu has a decent variety. Aside from the different styles of ramen, the menu also has a list of riceburgers, appetizers, desserts, and even boba. I had ramen both times. It was good. The broth was rich and tasty, and the bowl was so filling. I also tried their pork bao and Thai tea. Both were good as well. The combos are good deals, and the twin bowls are a good way to try two different ramens. Kyuramen is a quick and relatively affordable food option in the city. I would come back again.

Mosa H.

Yelp
Kyuramen has great combos that are delicious and worth every penny. Started with a pork bun- so tender and soft. Think it could've used a little sauce, it was a little dry. The Tonkotsu Shoyu Ramen was good- tasty thick broth, noodles were pretty standard. Pork was tender in the fatty spots but kind of tough elsewhere. A good amount of toppings and love the two seaweed options! Egg was perfectly jammy. Wish the Thai iced tea was stronger, it was on the milkier side. Pretty busy on a weekday at 9pm. Pretty casual interior- liked the bar seating where you could watch the chefs cook. Service was quick and employees were kind and attentive!

Tinsley M.

Yelp
WORTH THE HYPE! we got the chilli garlic edamame, pork bao buns, and the spicy tonkatsu ramen, it was A-MAZ-ING! we didn't have the best service, but definitely would still go back

Anna V.

Yelp
Very cozy atmosphere with a diverse menu and a variety of ramen options!! Staff were very friendly and service was quick. KYU is definitely a place everyone should check out. I'll definitely be coming back to try more dishes!!

Jasmine H.

Yelp
I've been to a lot of kyuramen locations by now and they're all great! Including this one. This time I went because my jaw was hurting and I needed something soft to eat . I got the chicken ramen along with a chicken bao and thai iced tea. Their thai tea is always so good and is easily better than any thai tea I've had from any place that specializes in drinks. It was my first time trying the chicken bao but I'm glad I did! The bun was so so soft and the sauce in it was delicious. It comes with a few token pieces of lettuce so you can feel healthy too The chicken ramen from Kyuramen never disappoints! Their broth is always so tasty and the chicken is tender. I usually hate eggs, but I'll always eat it if it's from here. The staff was nice and polite. I came alone this time so I didn't talk to them that much (especially with my jaw hurting) but they were great! 5/5. I love Kyuramen!

Thuanh S.

Yelp
Amazing ramen spot!! We actually ordered from Kyuramen on DoorDash at 11pm and thought it was so good that we had to have it again the next day for lunch before getting on our flight. Restaurant was clean and spacious. Servers were nice and attentive. Shoyu tonkotsu and spicy tonkotsu ramen were flavorful and hit the spot. Definitely recommend and adding to our go to list for NYC.

Karina U.

Yelp
We got sat in a "private" booth with a curtain around it. It was more optically private than acoustically because as soon as another group was sat in the booth next to us, we basically were privy to their entire loud conversation, video streaming and all. Foodwise, we all got the spicy tonkatsu and it is more of a medium to hot spicy than a mild one so some of the group handled it less than others. We also tried their fried pork belly and Thai iced tea and both were delicious. Service is friendly and there is a call button to get their attention as well. Most of the meat (fried and in the ramen) is tender and very fatty so it comes down to personal preference there but a few fried pieces were a little on the chewy side. Overall, a pretty good spot to try.

Sheena Y.

Yelp
Came to this cool ramen place in Times Square with the family. I love the setup of the restaurant and how you have your own little booth. Our waiter was super friendly and truly enjoyed the ramen. I had the veggie one which was good. You also must try the matcha dessert because it was definitely enjoyable! Also great that you can make reservations on the Yelp app which makes my life so much easier!

Giselle G.

Yelp
I came here for lunch and I enjoyed it very much. I think it is a good option when you are in the area. I enjoyed the lemonade very much and the dumplings they had wings on them. The wings were a too big for me. The ramen was also good and the noddles were the right texture. The place is nice and well lit. The food was served quickly and it was hot. The service was great and they were very friendly. The taste of the ramen was good but I have had better so that is why it only has four stars. I ordered the spicy ramen but it was not spicy enough.
