Small, independently owned counter-service spot turning out Cantonese‑leaning plates—lo mein, cashew chicken, egg flower soup—at fair prices. A handy option for a quick, satisfying lunch near Uptown.

I've been coming here longer than my children have been alive. (So, 16+ years) the food is always excellent. I have never had a bad meal here. Highly recommended

Google
This was honestly the best Chinese food I have had in a while. I had the L16 - Triple Delight lunch special. Everything was fresh and piping hot. The waitress was very friendly and attentive. The price for the amount of food was amazing (see my attached photo: that was a ~$10 lunch special!) Good flavor, and a great variety of vegetables in with the meat.

Google
Honestly one of the best Chinese foods I've had in long, long time? I live in Northern Texas now I'm from Southern California and I had lots of small and big know Chinese food but by far the best I ever had

Google
Quiet little hole in the wall type restaurant. Visited Saturday during lunch. Egg drop soup was good. Triple combo plate with beef, chicken and shrimp was ok. Beef and chicken had an interesting texture and tasted about the same, shrimp was okay... Couldn't figure out what kind of sauce was used for the plate, spicy though. Egg rolls were okay. Hot and sour soup was good. Crispy wonton chips tasted like they were either fried in old oil or just not quite fresh. 4 stars for the friendly server and decent price of food. 3 stars for quality/taste.

Google
This place does some of the best Chinese food in Albuquerque. Can’t recommend this place enough. Very fresh food with big portions. Friendly service.

Chicken chow mein tasted a bit weird. Egg roll was yummy, rice was good, and the crab meat appetizer was really good. Overall good food, good service, and decent prices. Delicious hot tea. The atmosphere could improve with some music, I could hear people in the restroom and We sat at the opposite side of the restaurant from it.

Google
All of their beef dishes are tender and tasty. Their vegetarian dishes are fresh and flavorful! Every experience has been good quality, and friendly service. Great mom and pop restaurant to have in the midtown area.

Yelp
Please Alamo Navajo People don't ever eat at 328 Chinese Cuisine! Early today we told the owners wife that the chicken was uncooked and she went to the back n told her husband (the owner) he came out n put his his hand in my plate n cussing us out saying "You Alamo People, don't ever f**king eat here again". He even accusing Alamo that we just stupid Navajos. Telling us that Gallup and Farmington don't like Alamo people. Bad Customers Service! Our food was still cold too!!!!!!

Yelp
This place was recommended by my husband's coworker, and now we understand why. There was not a single thing we didn't like about this meal. First, they bring you a little bowl of wonton strips and sweet & sour, which we ended up eating chips and salsa style. Maybe they were supposed to be for the soup course of the Family Joy dinner, but we enjoyed it on its own. For our entree selections, we got the cashew chicken and roasted pork lo mein. Both were fantastic, but I'd say our #1 & 2 stars of the meal were the crab rangoon (hot, crispy and well-stuffed) and the egg foo young. We got beef this time, but we look forward to trying others. The portions are quite generous, and we took home lots of leftovers, which will make for great lunches tomorrow. We will definitely be back again, as this is our new favorite Chinese restaurant! We often eat at odd hours, so when we arrived around 3:45pm, we were the only patrons. We were greeted and seated promptly, and our drink orders were taken before we even sat. The restaurant was quiet, with some phone orders and one other party that arrived during our visit, who seemed to be regulars. There was no music, so the only sounds were from the kitchen, and the AC. There are lots of tables, and I imagine it can get quite busy at times. Don't overlook this little gem. We are glad to have found a new favorite place right on Menaul.

Yelp
I've driven by this place countless times. I will be honest, I never gave it any thought. The big plan yellow sign never really snagged my attention. Why did I stop this time? I had egg foo young on the mind, I stopped at the first place I saw. Risky business I know. I'm not opposed to dabbling in a bit of risk from time to time. There are a few things that caught my eye on my way in. Someone was walking to their car with a hefty bag of carryout. Once inside, a table of two was talking at table awaiting their food. Lastly, they place was very, very clean. Almost spotless! I could have stayed and ate my meal, but I ordered to go so I could stuff my face in the privacy of my home. I was quoted a 25 minute wait and what to do know, they delivered! The sweet lady working the cash register and taking carryout orders brought me mine in 21 minutes. With a short drive home, and how fresh my food was, everything was still piping hot once I was able to dig in. I ordered their chicken egg foo young but I will be honest, my only qualm with my whole experience was the lack of chicken in my egg foo young! LOL! Although, it didn't matter, the egg foo young was still delicious, filled with veggies, which I didn't mind at all. The gravy came separate in another container, so thoughtful, and a great portion. Some other place portion them already smothered in the gravy. My order came with 3 large egg foo young patties and a side of rice. $12 meal that could easily feed two. I was happy with my random choice to stop. I am curious about their version of other Chinese food staples.

Yelp
Very big delicious portions, very yummy jasmine tea. Service was very good. Pretty chill spot. Will come back

Yelp
I called for a carry out order tonight and I was given a 40-minute wait time. When I arrived the restaurant was empty. My meal was hot and cooked like a special order. The restaurant was clean and the cashier was friendly. I enjoyed the food! I ordered the shrimp fried rice. I did not mind the wait because freshly cooked food is worth the wait.

Yelp
Stop by yesterday (3-13-23) and had lunch. Had been their previously and noticed the prices have gone up. If my groceries have gone up, then it is only logically that restaurant food has gone up. What I want to say is that after all these years of going there the quality has not gone down. Maybe the portion and the iced tea glasses have changed, but the food hasn't. Will continue to go there as our go to place for Chinese food. To many favorites to list!!

Tiffany G.

Yelp
Food was bland, all of my meat was fat and not even cut up. Honestly I get better food at Panda Express. Service was good except i asked to take my soup but since it was included in the lunch that was a no go. Overall, No thanks.

Yelp
My mom and daughter came here today and ordered. My mom ordered a bowl of wonton soup and she said it was nasty so said she was sending it back. The next thing we know this man with no teeth is at at our table yelling hysterically the f word and all kinds of stuff that we were banned from the restaurant. I was shocked that he was yelling all these vulgarities at us in front of other customers. He kept saying I was banned and my sister in law Angela Garcia is banned I have no idea who this was or why this man with no teeth was so angry with us for returning bad soup. He told us to get the F out and never come back. I was willing to pay for my drink and what we did eat but he screamed at us so badly and told us to leave I was thankful because I can go eat roaches somewhere else.

Yelp
Food was good but slow service. Understanding as they may be in the same boat as many other employers. Hard to compete and pay wages for good workers when the Govt pays better to stay home. #JoeDevidin

Yelp
It took calling 4 places from Yelp on Christmas Day to find a Chinese restaurant that was open. Goes to show that you can't trust the stereotypes/legends. Thankfully, 328 Chinese delivered. Actually, I picked up, but you get the gist. 328 is in a strip-mall on Menaul (no rhyme intended) and would be easy to miss without GPS. Inside is seating for perhaps 20 in a somewhat sterile-yet-decorated room. What came out was a ton of good-not-great Chinese. I mean this in the best possible way; Albuquerque has some exceptionally average-to-bad Chinese food, so this was quite the treat. We got quite the smorgasbord of items from egg rolls to sweet and sour chicken to ma po tofu and lo mein. All hit the spot and put us squarely on the couch with too much of a food coma to continue to stuff our faces. It was lovely. The next time I want Chinese in Albuquerque, 328 will be high on my list.

Yelp
I love this place. My go to spot for excellent Chinese food for several years now. Consistent, quality-tasting food every time! Carryout only right now due to COVID restrictions. They nice lady that manages out front is awesome. Give them a try!

Yelp
So, I'm the daughter of a non-Asian Chinese immigrant I've had the pleasure of experiencing the full array of, let's just say Exotic Chinese cuisine. Settling for the Americanized version is usually a disappointment for me... Tonight, being a tad hormonal I wanted a combination of drama, Asian-Americanized comfort food and That Thing Not On The Menu. I got ALL THREE!!! Love this place, especially when I request a custom dish that prompts the owner to ask if I'm white And...HE MAKES IT!!!!! Everyone needs to eat here.
google avatar

Bea P.

Yelp
One of my favorite places for Chinese food!...I always get the chicken lo mein with a side of fried rice and egg rolls. Me and my sisters have been eating here for years and it has always been consistent!!..I love this place!
google avatar

Gordon L.

Yelp
I came here for take out. Portions here are a good size compared to what I'm used to and a lot less cost wise. I got the tofu and broccoli, good. Healthier than I expected for take out food.

Yelp
10/10! Chinese Cuisine is one of my favorite restaurants in Albuquerque. Despite low prices and high quality Chinese food, the place is constantly empty. After frequently visiting this restaurant, we were blown away by how quiet it is and have decided that the entrance to 328 Chinese Cuisine is not merely a door, but is the entrance to an alternative universe where every restaurant patron receives the experience of being the only patron at a what must be a busy restaurant. Alternative universe or not, I highly recommend the fried rice! Super fresh and large quantity, There is also a charming sign on the right wall reminding children not to stick their fingers in the electrical sockets which should not be overlooked. Great food, great prices, great charm. 10/10
google avatar

Allyn C.

Yelp
Love it, my favorite is their Almond Chicken. They have generous portions so one order can easily serve two. Especially when you order a side of their awesome rangoons.
google avatar

Laura L.

Yelp
I stopped by this place looking for something different. I had their lunch special shrimp with vegetables and it was very good! The food was alot and it tasted really good and was nice and hot! The waitress was a little slow on bringing water...i had to ask. I order combination Lo Mein to go and it was really tasty and smoky flavored. I will definitely return!
google avatar

Doug J.

Yelp
I'll be the first to admit I really like their food. It's cooked to order and has been very good. But the place is filthy. Not so much the dining room but if you look around a little you'll see just how poorly maintained it is. I was appalled by the grubby adding and credit card machines at the counter. Then the bathroom is so bad that I dared not touch the light switch or door handle. Come on people have a little pride in your business! I shudder to think what the kitchen holds.
google avatar

Amanda C.

Yelp
I work right next door. I've never been inside so I couldn't tell you what it looks like or the atmosphere but the lady who always answers the phone is very nice. The food is always good. Good as in it'll Do. Not delicious but not bad. I always order the veggie fried rice but it usually only comes with bean sprouts and maybe 1 slice of mushroom and 1 broccoli they are very cheap on the veggies. I only order here when I'm tired of bar food at Louies. :)
google avatar

Yelp
This place has the best Chinese food in town! They are comparable to Jade Garden that was on Menaul & Candelaria that shut down out of nowhere. My mom even called in an order 15 minutes before they closed(so rude of her, right) and they made our food better than most restaurants do at any given time. 328 Chinese was recommended to us by our neighbors & it's the only place we now go for Chinese. Everything is cooked fresh & has great flavor. Beef is tender & not chewy or stringy, chicken is moist, not rubbery, and you can actually see the shrimp in the shrimp fried rice, and you get shrimp in every spoonful! And the sweet & sour pork is fried really crispy & yet the pork is still tender inside! Chicken Chow mein, broccoli beef, sweet & sour pork, shrimp fried rice are a few of the dishes you have to try!

Bianca C.

Yelp
I love this place. I've never ran into any problems or issues. I love thier food and the lady is very nice ive eaten in china town NYC and PA nothing gets better than this here in ABQ. We've been back 3 times. People who write about their language barrier Hello they aren't from America geeze!! We want ethnic food without ethnic cooks he probably was offended. Rememeber they don't have the same beliefs and views as Americans.

Bryan M.

Yelp
So I thought this place would be a knock out of the park and decided to bring my wife for lunch and the service was the worst. I mean there is a language barrier but they could not accomodate my wife for her order and then we waited for 1/2 an hour and they didnt even start our meal so we had to leave. Not worth the wait or our business for heavily MSG induced processed chinese food. No DICE!

Amelia P.

Yelp
Great food and love the service. Try the egg flower soup and the Mongolian beef. Usually get take out but have stayed to eat and the server is the nicest lady and very attentive.

Yelp
This place is delicious!!! Our #1 pick is Fu Yaung they are phenomenal!! But during the times that we are budgeting for the week we needed a runner up. So my husband and I were on a major search. I read the reviews for 328 and was still skeptical. I finally convinced him to go. I thought hey for one dollar sign you won't be out a bunch of money if it's gross. You guys were right we love it. We tried the chicken flour soup, fried rice egg rolls veggie and pork, sweet and sour pork , and crab rangoon and it was just fabulous. But guys treat yourself to Fu Yaung sometime you will be so glad you did I promise . It's on Eubank and Candelaria. Check the hours out before going. Check them out on yelp. Happy eatings!

Yelp
I've eaten here several times now and I love this place! The food is always hot and fresh. The lady who runs the place is very friendly. My current favs are the Beef and Broccoli and the House Wonton Soup. When I stop by for lunch I get the beef and broccoli lunch; tender beef with fresh broccoli and fried rice, and it almost always serves as two meals. The soup is loaded with wonton noodles, chicken, beef pork, shrimp and fresh veggies to the point where they have to put the broth in another container when you have it to go. This is the best Chinese food I've had in the Uptown area!
google avatar

Elise B.

Yelp
This was ok. Not the best but not the worst. Egg rolls were very good Rangoon was very crabby Steamed dumplings... meh Wonton soup was basic but fine not exactly savory I ordered mixed vegitable, which can be hit or miss at restaurants so I asked if it had brown sauce, that delicious staple with no formal name but "brown sauce" that is used in stirfrys. She said yes. Now I asked because some Chinese use brown sauce and some use a white chicken based sauce which for me personally is like the most blah thing you could put in a dish. It was actually a white sauce and i had dissapointment for dinner. Others may like it so I didnt count it against the restaurant. But overall it was ok.
google avatar

Michelle A.

Yelp
I was only able to write a review if I gave a star, so here it goes. This place gets one star for having good ice water - if your waitress is kind enough to offer you a refill during your visit. Food prices are fair, customer service f'n sucks, restaurant cleanliness is poor (too many sticky surfaces and a carpet begging to be burned), food quality is catch and miss. If you don't like your food, don't even think of telling them because the waitress will think you're trying to rip her off. Her boyfriend/cook will personally come from the back to defend his cooking, btw. Lastly, don't get your hopes up after the meal because the fortune cookie messages need improvement. Ha!
google avatar

Geoff N.

Yelp
I've been eating with the head chef since his old restaurant in Socorro, and he continues to deliver here in Albuquerque. Sadly, he has Americanised some of his recipes (added sugar or MSG) but the food is still damn good. Pretty good for groups under fifteen, but they've got enough tables to seat about thirty. If you're familiar enough with the dishes, you can go a little off menu, and substitute proteins (eg, the Beef and Broccoli is just as good as Tofu and Broccoli; the Pepper Beef is also good as Pepper Pork). Our go-to to-go order (large group dinner) is generally Beef and Broccoli, Chicken Fried Rice, and the Happy Family, with a side of either Potstickers, or the (fried) Egg Rolls.

Yelp
We've begun the hunt for a new Chinese place since Yen Ching's unfortunate demise. This place got pretty good reviews so we decided to give it a try. Like other Yelpers mentioned, the place is really clean and super quiet. The place was empty, so we had our pick of tables. The hostess brought out a bowl of crunchy noodles with sweet and sour sauce....nice touch. We decided on the appetizer plate to start with. It came with beef on a stick, egg rolls, chicken wings, crab rangoo, BBQ pork ribs and fried shrimp. The beef on a stick and chicken wings were fabulous! The ribs were very tough and fatty. My shrimp eating son only had 1....he didn't like it. My crab rangoo loving hubby had 1.....he didn't like it (but he admitted he likes more cream cheese in his, and the stuffing looked fresh). The egg rolls were just okay, not a lot of flavor and seemed to be purely vegetable. Next we each had a bowl of Egg Flour soup. It was good.....how can any non-buffet restaurant screw it up? And to be honest, I really wanted Sizzling Rice soup.....RIP Yen Ching (sniff!) For entrees, we ordered sweet and sour chicken, Beef in hot garlic sauce and the house special fried rice.....all were delicious! The chicken pieces were large strips. The beef dish had water chestnuts, zucchini, and onions. Nice and spicy! The rice was good...just lacking in scrambled egg chunks (it had none, the hubby pouted). The flavor was very good though. Strangely, they use CANS of soda....and will charge you for refills. Wouldn't it be cheaper for them to use 2 liter bottles lol? We may visit again in the future....but until then, the hunt continues.

Yelp
Good hot meals. Surved in minutes. Great service and Very friendly staff. Good reasonable price. Recommend the L17 during lunch and egg flour soup.
google avatar

Jordana G.

Yelp
I continue to recommend 328. In over a dozen meals, we have never been disappointed. Always fresh and always high quality, with friendly and timely service. My go to for Chinese in ABQ.
google avatar

Ali C.

Yelp
So three days and one hospital visit later and I am just coming down from my bout of food poisoning. What I went through was nothing short of cruel and unusual torture. The best part? For the 14 dollars I spent on the food, I now get to add a 700 dollar ER bill.
google avatar

Jen R.

Yelp
Quick, friendly service. Generous portion sizes especially considering the prices. The egg rolls, lo mein and kids chicken and corn were all enjoyed. No free refills of soda which was weird but the place was clean, food was enjoyable and we'd likely return
google avatar

Yelp
I've been eating here for about 10 years, following them as they've changed locations (starting when they were in Socorro). It's the best Chinese food I've had in NM, and is in many case far removed from the standard Americanized Chinese food. First, to start with the worst: Things that aren't really chinese food; heavily breaded meats like sweet and sour chicken are rather bland, the varieties of fried rice should be skipped in favor of white rice. I've never cared for their chow or lo meins either. Their lunch specials are made up primarily of such items, unfortunately. With that out of the way, on to the good points. Some standard items are decidedly different and delicious. My favorite is the hot and sour soup; It's made hot, atypically, with white pepper instead of chile, and is a wonderfully pungent mix of pork and tofu. The other soups are great as well, though not quite as addictive. Their General Tso's Chicken (listed as House Chicken) is incredible, spicy and lightly breaded with a hint of orange. Some of my other favorite items are: Mapo Doufu (listed as Minced Pork with Tofu, mix it with you're rice) Sizzling hot pepper beef The Mongolian and Hot garlic sauce items You generally can't go wrong with any item listed as spicy.
google avatar

Daniel W.

Yelp
Clean and cheap but relatively flavorless. Fans of bland food will love it. Others will not.
google avatar

Nathan B.

Yelp
The best, been eating at their various locations for the last 7 years and have not had a complaint or a bad meal! Give them a try and you will be back to visit them again and again. My favorite is the Mongolian Chicken with fried rice. All stuff prepared when ordered, homemade sauces and generous portions!
google avatar

Maggie F.

Yelp
On rte through New Mexico stoped here for late lunch based on YELP Reviews. What a disappointment. We ordered Hot & Sour Soup which not only took 7 mins before it came out but was inedible as too way much white pepper. If made to order, this should've been mild. Based on this, we cancelled the Combo Platter, paid for the soup, thanked the owner & wished her a happy new year. Wound up reluctantly going a different rte for lunch.

Adam S.

Yelp
Outstanding Chinese food. Not only is the food amazing but the staff are so friendly, the place is clean, and the prices are reasonable. I have eaten here several times and I've tried different plates every time and I have yet to be disappointed. Everything tastes fresh nothing tastes like it came out of a package or plastic. If you are looking for a Chinese spot but don't want to risk not liking the food somewhere this is the place to go. You will not be disappointed this place is phenomenal!!!
google avatar

Natalie Z.

Yelp
This place is great. Nice, quiet atmosphere. Delicious food and friendly service. My friend and I used to pop in regularly and they always remembered us. I'd recommend the pork dishes especially.
google avatar

Matthew G.

Yelp
I come to this place all the time. They have a great selection and the prices are totally reasonable. Service is always pretty fast and they're typically not too busy.
google avatar

Adam T.

Yelp
Out of all the Chinese places I have been to, this one seems the most lackluster. The atmosphere to start off with is very bland, not very much on the walls and the place when I came in was completely empty, maybe normal for a Thursday afternoon at 3. Anyways, the menus were exceptional and easy to understand. But the food was a hit and miss for me. I got the combo plate with the bellpeppers and beef. That wasn't to bad despite the overwhelming amount of onions. My girlfriend got the spiced curry beef. DO NOT GET THAT. It was very bland and tasteless. The only good thing about the food was the rice, the beef, and the tea.
google avatar

Becca S.

Yelp
Always awesome! We love the teriyaki chicken and the sweet and sour pork! We have been going here for years and it's always our favorite spot in ABQ!
google avatar

Amber G.

Yelp
I cannot understand the good reviews on this place. The food was meh at best. I never ever trust people in Albuquerque's taste for good/decent Chinese. I went to this place on a lazy day and trusted the Yelp reviews to the detriment of my bowel health. I feel bad because the people who run the establishment are super nice and are probably making the crap the people in this town think is good.
google avatar

Kendyl G.

Yelp
Okay, I can honestly say I don't remember when the last time it was that I tried a restaurant for the first time and was just so happy with everything!!! this place is awesome. The interior is what you'd expect. The traditional Chinese decor is pretty standard. One thing i will say, and in my opinion, a bonus, it was super clean. Almost sterile lol. It's fairly small inside, only about ten tables or so. A very ma and pa kinda feel. The waitress who also seemed to be the owner is super friendly and very sweet! Now let me say, I've been here several times before I decided to write this review so as to give you an idea of what more than a couple dishes taste like. First off, the house chicken is amazing, spicy and zesty with a hint of orange. The chicken was crisp, hot and fresh. Secondly the peanut chicken (also known as kung pao) was equally delicious. Tons of fresh veggies and the sauce, very tasty and the spice level, just enough to enjoy it. The peanut shrimp is also great, and in some ways better than the peanut chicken. Simply because they fry these nice plump shrimp in some spices before they add it to the rest of the mixture which was awesome, it didn't feel as if the shrimp had been drenched in sauce. Their fried rice is also very good, and every time I've had it, it's been fresh and comes out steaming! Their chow mein is also worth giving a try, the shrimp chow mein is by far the best one! The egg rolls are pretty great also, they have pork or vegetable which was kinda nice to be able to choose what kind since most restaurants just have one type. But by far the best thing I've had is the HOUSE wonton soup. wow, just wow. Now they have another wonton soup on the menu but you have to get the"house" or it's not the same soup that comes out. The mixture of the fresh veggies, the delicious meats and dumplings alongside the flavorful broth is enough to make me crave it when I'm not there!! Give it a try I promise you will not be disappointed! Keep in mind, the house wonton soup only comes in large so be prepared to get full off of this hearty soup! Now for the prices. They are so reasonable! My husband, daughter and I all ate for about 28 bucks. To me, that's awesome, especially when everything has always came out piping hot and delicious! Definitely give this little hole in the wall a try!

M G.

Yelp
I ordered (for take out)the chicken chow mein lunch special which came with fried rice, sweet and sour pork appetizer and egg flower soup (however they excluded the soup for take out). The chicken chow mein was much too salty. The fried rice and pork appetizer were very delicious! I was disappointed not getting the soup with take out and the price was still the same.
google avatar

John R.

Yelp
An absolutely average Chinese food establishment. The house chicken was fine but nothing spectacular. The fried rice was bland and the hot and sour soup was unlike any I'd ever had before, but not better unfortunately. I'm sure other people love this place it just wasn't my cup of tea.
google avatar

Jarrod L.

Yelp
The best Chinese food I've ever had in NM. John uses recipes that are unusual by American standards, being a cross between the home-cooking he grew up with in China and the thoroughly Americanized recipes found at nearly all of the other area Chinese restaurants. My friends and I like John's food so much that we used to go to the Socorro location with 5-20 people every Thursday night for ~3 years. The "House Chicken **", "Sizzling Pepper Pork ****", and "Pork Lo Mein *****" are my favorites (the *s are my preferred spiciness levels). The "House Chicken" is particularly notable because it's the savory, not-very-sweet Hunan variation on what is often called "General Tso's Chicken"
google avatar

Josette G.

Yelp
Very nice people, very friendly. A quaint little place that was quick to deliver some pretty yummy food. I got the combination appetizer platter and they brought out wontons and homemade sweet and sour sauce, not the yucky stuff. I drive past this place all the time and never knew it was there. It was worth the stop.

Yelp
It was good to eat but they need to work on being nicer to people & me & my ex girlfriend want in to eat for first date they came to our table & ask us what do you want to drink & when you want to eat & my girlfriend said can we just relax and look at the menu first & the Chinese girls who work there were saying stuff about my ex girlfriend & I will sill eat there but no my ex girlfriend will never eat there
