The Best Dumplings In Atlanta - Atlanta - The Infatuation

"Kids love Lanzhou Ramen (this Kennesaw location and another on Buford Highway) because the food is great and there’s a glass window to the kitchen that lets them watch the chef pull handmade noodles. Adults are fans because they can order like a kid in a candy store—with multiple bowls of noodle soups, buns, and dumplings. Their soup dumplings are just as good as Northern China Eatery, and the fried potstickers are a delicious must-have. They come upside-down on the plate to prevent the dumpling skirt from getting soggy, and the pork filling is flavorful enough you don’t need the dumpling sauce they serve with it. The dining room at Lanzhou is large and never fills up, so we’re always able to get a table." - candy hom

Eight Must-Visit Atlanta Restaurants That Opened in 2020 | Eater Atlanta

"Opened in Kennesaw in 2020 by the same owners responsible for other regional concepts, this shop offers hand-pulled Lanzhou-style noodle soups alongside dumplings and Xinjiang-influenced dishes such as stir-fried chicken with sliced noodles, plus bolder items like hot-and-numbing crawfish, providing a Buford Highway–style noodle experience outside the core corridor." - Beth McKibben

I was craving hot soup and decided to try this place. The fried rice was really good. We also ordered the hand-pulled noodle soup — the noodles were fresh and plenty, with a good amount of meat, but the broth felt a bit lacking. Since I’m someone who loves soup, I wished there was more broth to balance out all the noodles (I still had some noodles left after finishing). Overall, it’s a good spot to give a try. We don’t eat pork, so unfortunately we couldn’t try their soup dumplings since they only had a pork option.

Google
Fried rice was really good. The pan fried dumplings and fried pork buns were awesome. We were disappointed in the beef noodle soup though. The beef was very tough to chew and broth was a little bland. We still plan to return to try more of the menu.

3+3 LanZhou Ramen If you’ve ever watched a noodle master stretch a single rope of dough into dozens of strands and thought, “Now that’s dinner and a show,” put 3+3 LanZhou Ramen on your Kennesaw short list. This offshoot of Atlanta’s celebrated LanZhou Ramen (a Top-50—and #10—pick back in 2019, Atlanta Magazine) sits on Town Center Drive and channels the same hand-pulled-noodle craftsmanship that made the original a cult favorite. Expect a casual dining room, quick service, and—best of all—a glass window to the kitchen where you can see the noodle pulling in action. The vibe & service 3+3 LanZhou is built for easy weeknight meals and casual meet-ups; the room turns tables steadily but rarely feels cramped. Families especially love the “kitchen theater,” which doubles as built-in entertainment for kids (and noodle nerds). Service runs quick and efficient rather than chatty, and food hits the table fast—great for lunch hours and post-errand refuels near the mall. Service is robot-assisted, so that's fun too, and definitely part of the vibe. Take a look at the short video below to get a taste of what's in store for serious (and even casual) noodle fans! What to order (and why it works) Start with dim sum-style appetizers. They are far from an afterthought! The fried potstickers arrive inverted to preserve a lacy “skirt” and deliver a satisfying crunch; the pork filling is seasoned enough to stand on its own. We get these every time. If you’re a soup-dumpling fan, you’ll find their xiaolongbao competes with the city’s best—a tidy, gently gingery parcel with a hot soup center. (Also a family fave.) These aren’t just social-media bait; they’re genuinely craveable (and family-pleasing). By the way, the noodles are still amazing when reheated the next day, and the portions are quite generous. Average prices run about $17 for dinner entrées $10 for appetizers. And trust me, if you have a modicum of self-control, you will have leftovers. Click on the online delivery services on their website section below for a full list of menu items and pricing. The menu itself is broader than “just soup.” You’ll find several beef-forward broths (classic beef, beef flank), plus roast duck and roast pork variations; on the wok side, there are stir-fried hand-pulled noodles and knife-sliced noodles tossed with vegetables or proteins. Chef specialties range beyond noodles into Xinjiang-style big-plate chicken and other hearty Northern dishes—the selection is par excellence when you’re feeding a mixed crowd of veggie and carnivores. I am definitely a noodle girl, and I like mine thin. Each noodle dish is prepared to the diner's delight, so thick or thin, they've got you covered. I order pan-fried noodles with either chicken or seafood every time, and I will never get tired of it. My husband likes things on the spicy side; he inevitably orders sizzling spicy chicken, pork, or beef in one of the many dishes offered in the "light your eyes up, fire-breathing dragon hot" category. He hasn't cried yet, but I am waiting for the day. The takeaway 3+3 Lanzhou Ramen nails the fundamentals that make Lanzhou bowls so restorative: a clear, beefy broth that never turns muddy; springy hand-pulled noodles; garnish and chili oil are used for balance, not to overwhelm. Add legitimately good dumplings and the built-in spectacle of noodle-pulling, and you’ve got one of Cobb County’s most reliable, family-friendly comfort-food stops—authentic enough for purists, accessible enough for first timers. Pro tips • Make it a show. Grab a seat with a view of the window and watch the noodle pulling—it’s part of the charm. • Dial in your bowl. Lanzhou shops are known for offering different noodle thicknesses; if you like a chewier bite, ask for thicker strands. • Balance the table. Pair a steaming bowl with a plate of potstickers or a cold appetizer for texture and temperature contrast.

Lanzhou Ramen is located in Escalade shopping center, one of the outbuildings near Town Center Mall. There is plenty of parking nearby. My wife and I came for lunch on Independence Day. There were 4-5 other tables seated and it seemed like as soon as someone left the6 filled that table with someone else. They were only using the booths , not sure why. We ordered the six steamed soup dumplings, dry fried string beans, and spicy stir fry chicken. The soup dumplings were a little waterier than I’ve had at other places which made the flavor a little bland. The other two dishes had very similar sauces and spices. We did not realize the string beans would be spicy as well. We’re lucky we asked for the chicken to be “a little milder“; as it was, it had some kick! Both were good, not great. The string beans did lack a little flavor. You could taste the spice but the garlic and bean didn’t jump out at you. We did see their robot deliver food to one of the tables. We couldn’t figure out when they chose to use it, and when they did not. We saw other people that looked like they had the same dishes, but their food was wheeled out on a cart by a person, like this is the 20th century or something. All in all, it was a perfectly fine restaurant. I don’t think we would go out of our way to choose that location, but if we were already in the area, I wouldn’t have a problem going back. Steamed Soup Dumplings, Dry Fried String Beans, Chinese Style Spicy Chicken; $37.48 before tip.

My kids love this place, 10 toes down its their favorite. My 11 counts his money in his piggy bank and asks me to bring him here after any holiday

Google
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely delicious! The broth was rich and flavorful, the noodles perfectly chewy, and the toppings fresh and generous. Easily one of the best ramen spots I’ve tried!

Heather W.

Google
Pretty good spot for some ramen! Big portions too. My husband got the general tso's chicken and he said it was okay! The green beans were SO GOOD! My daughter and I ate a whole plate of just green beans.

Google
This is our 2nd visit; really good noodles. Hand pulled and customized per your preference. We’ve tried the roasted duck and shrimp noodles. The vegetarian broth is light and flavorful. The roasted duck was also tasty but be aware the bones are included in the pieces of duck. The shrimp version was also very nice. Very good service, they even have a robot delivery to the table. Place is not fancy, just a clean and comfortable spot for good food. Prices are also reasonable for the portion size.

Yelp
We had Lanzhou noodle and steamed Xiaolong Bao. Both are very authentic. The service is also good, fast and friendly. Love to go back!

Yelp
Surprised myself that I've never left a review for good ol 3+3 as I've been getting food here ever since they opened. Really good and consistent food, with my personal favorites being the kou shui chicken, pan fried buns, and spicy chicken. Lo mein is generally good and so are the noodles overall. My only complaint in the past has been the duck noodles, as the amt was small and mostly bones. Flavor wise the soups really have great flavor. Typically get take out or delivery but have enjoyed the occasions I've dined in as well. Will def keep coming back.

Yelp
Decent flavors, good ingredients, and great portions. We started with Fried Pot Sticker Dumplings that were tender with a crispy halo. For entrees my wife ordered the Orange Chicken and I had the (B8) House Special Stir-Fried Knife-Cut Noodles. The steamed broccoli on my wife's dish were perfectly cooked. My dish had plump shrimp, nice pieces of steak, and a deep fried egg. All dishes were hand delivered but some patrons received their dishes via the cute delivery robot. On bizarre element was that the same song, Silver Bells, played over and over for our entire visit. And it wasn't even the whole song but the refrain "soon it will be Christmas day." It was on low volume, so hopefully most patrons didn't notice it.

Yelp
This place was really good, especially the Shanghai pan fried pork buns were amazing! Service was excellent and our server Johnson was the best! He was friendly, accommodating and helpful with giving us suggestions on what to order. The place is big, clean and they even have a robot cart to bring your food out. I give this place a 9/10 and I will for sure be back!
google avatar

Yelp
Dumplings and noodle soup are amazing, everything we have had here has been great and consistent as well! The inside is simple, but the food makes up for it. They also have a robot server, which is fun!

Yelp
Fantastic Food, and great service. Watching the chef make noodles brought back memories of when I was a child in Hong Kong watching the cooks making noodles.
google avatar

Grace D.

Yelp
One of my favorite places to go, especially on a casual date night. Food is amazing, the Shanghai Fried Pork Buns are one of my favorite dishes. Also, loveee the edamame! The service is amazing with them checking up on every table and being very consistent and considerate. Will always be a staple in my rotation.
google avatar

Yelp
The food was hot and yummy! We had Shanghai Pan fried pork bun and Stir fried noodle house special (Chicken, Beef, Shrimp) (fried egg). The server Johnson was awesome. I will definitely return.

Yelp
If you are looking for the best ramen this is the place to eat. Though we have not visited this place. Every time we order a takeout the taste , packaging and quantity deserves to be on top rated. Our kids love it every bit and as a family we love to eat at this place.

Tanya S.

Yelp
me and my boyfriend came here and yall... we spoke at the beginning to coordinate our order and then we ate in silence LOLLL. The food was soooo good !we looked at each other at the end and were like damn, hello! do not sleep on the sausage fried rice it's so delicious
google avatar

Eric N.

Yelp
One of my favorite spots around for dumplings. The restaurant spacious enough for busier nights, so far the fried rice, the Ramen, the buns and the potstickers have all been fantastic every time choose the thickness of your noodles when you order your soup a robot will bring out your meal. It's sort of a hidden gem. Don't buy their labubus .

Yelp
Delicious hand-pulled noodles. I usually get the soup, but today my husband and I shared the chicken stir fry with beeped and noodles along with crab rangoon as an appetizer. All delicious. I highly recommend!

Julian B.

Yelp
Amazing. Awesome. Outstanding. Nothing bad to say. The ramen is the best quality you'll find anywhere. The noodles are authentic and delicious. Service is always on point. Just the best place to go for lunch, dinner, dates, and even special occasions. Definitely a gem.

Yelp
I absolutely love coming to Lanzhou. I love being able to be indecisive about what to choose. One thing is I always get the chive pancakes and shrimp noodles. The customer service is excellent and the food comes out fast and hot. The broth and noodles tastes like heaven in a bite. All the workers are super nice and make sure you have everything you need. 5 stars from me for sure!
google avatar

Yelp
No longer need to go to Buford Hwy to eat roasted duck noodle soup. Also their noodle is hand-pulled. Their seafood hand-pulled nooddle soup is good too, very authentic.
google avatar

Amber R.

Yelp
This was the perfect! I will come again so authentic tasting. The spice level medium was on point. The service was wonderful. The staff was very kind. Even the water is better than average. Very pleased.
google avatar

Monica L.

Yelp
I was quite ecstatic to find some Chinese food in the area that seemed authentic and decent. As with most Lanzhou places I've been to, the food is on the saltier side so do be warned. The "thick" noodles don't have that slightly "QQ" texture I was hoping for, and didn't taste like fresh made--I was also expecting actual "kuan mian" and not whatever I got. On the bright side, the appetizer portions are generous and worth the dollars. I'd probably come here again as it's one of the few places in the area that seem authentic enough, hence bumping it up another star. PS: Why is this place called "ramen"? My soul dies a little every time I read the title...
google avatar

William E.

Yelp
Had an amazing dinner there last night. The noodles are really the high point of the meal. By far the best I have had. The beef and chicken are equally awesome
google avatar

Yelp
Love the food here, especially the hand-pulled noodles. Very authentic Asian food with decent prices. It's worth giving them a try!

Yelp
So glad we finally tried this place We got takeout here a couple nights ago and everything was well packaged and still hot by the time we got home (~20 mins) The only thing I needed to hear was the brother for the noodle soup so it would loosen the noodles properly The fried potatickers were still crispy by then and the portions were awesome. For ~$60, we had 4 meals. We tried: Roast pork noodle soup Spicy house stir fry noodles Fried potstickers Steamed pork buns Garlic cucumber The garlic cucumber is sooo flavorful. I was dipping my stir fried noodles into it. The cucumbers were still crunchy on day 2. I loved the broth on the noodles soup. It's so rich and comforting. It was a rainy day and this definitely hit the spot I added some chili crunch to the spicy stir fry and that really upped the ante. It was delicious and such a generous portion! Huge pieces of shrimp & tender beef. The bun on the steamed pork bun was so soft, pillowy and soaked up the sauce in the best way. Really juicy filling and a whole portion of these would be enough for a meal on its own. The potstickers were also a hit and paired great with the noodle meals. I would order any of these dishes again although I am interested in trying their duck soup next time. Plenty of parking in the shared lot and easy location to get to.
google avatar

Becka J.

Yelp
Got two orders of house noodle soup for delivery. One had 4 shrimp and no fried egg; the other had a fried egg and only 1 shrimp. Paid $2 each for boiled egg. The egg was tough and rubbery (gross) and overcooked (grey sulfur edge on the inside). Broth was lacking flavor/depth. (575 Bistro is way better!) Chicken was soggy... How does that happen?? The bok choy tasted weird, like hand soap or some kind of cleaning agent. We didn't get any utensils, condiments, chili oil, etc. which was odd. Very disappointed :(
google avatar

Nisha B.

Yelp
Ordered the veg and egg noodle soup. Broth didn't have much flavor. The spicy chicken was really tough to chew, seemed to be over cooked. Also ordered the chive and chicken dumplings and they were just ok. However the ambience of the restaurant is nice and it was cool to have the robot bring the food out
google avatar

El G.

Yelp
This has been my go to in the last few months!! I'm stuck on the pot stickers and the house fried rice!!
google avatar

Keith F.

Yelp
I really enjoyed many of the dishes at this restaurant. To start, the cucumber garlic was FANTASTIC! It was a large serving and the only dish I managed to take a picture of. It is something I would order every single time I come here. The crab Rangoon came out next. This was my least favorite. In a place where there was so much flavor these were so bland. It tasted like straight up plain cream cheese. My veggie broth noodle soup was pretty amazing. It had a nice flavor in the broth that was well seasoned I wish there were a few more vegetables in the soup or at least some more offered to add. The noodles were cooked perfectly. After adding a little of the chili oil this soup was delicious. I finished the whole thing. Overall this place is worth checking out. If you like noodles do yourself a favor and try it.

Yelp
Just discovered this place a couple of weeks ago and have now been a couple of times and can say...this place is really good! This restaurant serves hand pulled Chinese noodle-based dishes. On this front, I've tried the Beef Noodle soup and the House Special Stir-Fried Noodle dish and both were delicious. The Beef Noodle soup was filled with tender slices of beef, deliciously flavored vegetables, and noodles that had great texture and bite! I did appreciate that when I attempted to order the Oxtail Noodle soup, the waitress let me know the dish did not have a lot of meat and she suggested the Beef Noodle Soup if I wanted meat...and I did. The broth was a deep beef broth that I added some chili oil to in order to give it some spice. It was perfect. The House Special Stir-Fried Noodles were the same noodles as the Beef Noodle soup and, as the name suggests, were stir fried instead of bathed in broth. The dish came with beef (the same tender slices that came in the Beef Noodle soup), shrimp, chicken, eggs, and some veggies. Again, everything was flavorful and perfectly cooked. I've also tried some appetizers and a couple were standouts while the others, were just ok-ish. The steamed soup dumplings were amazing. If you are a pork eater...try them...carefully. The pork so delicious, and the soup inside the dumpling delicious. Also, the cucumber vinegar and garlic cold dish is a hit! I put some chili oil on my plate, then place the cucumbers in the oil and the combination of the spice and the bite of the vinegar is something I cannot explain, other than to say so delicious! The not-so-great apps are the crab rangoon and the pan-fried bun. The crab rangoon are literally just cream cheese and a little bit of fake crab meat. And when I say just cream cheese...I mean the cream cheese isn't flavored or seasoned. It was just like eating Philadelphia Cream cheese...that's it. The pan-fried bun was greasy, but was beautifully presented.

Yelp
My partner heard about the soup dumplings here so we decided to try it out and we were not disappointed! The soup dumplings were tasty but I personally loved the roast duck hand pulled noodles soup more. The broth was delicious and there were enough noodles to feed 2 people! Warning, the duck is a bit chewy and difficult to bite off from the bone. The chive pancakes were a bit of a letdown - they were mostly batter and barely any chives. Overall, I'd definitely come again and try other things on the menu. It looks like a lot of the dishes are pretty big so one dish could probably feed 2.
google avatar

Bird L.

Yelp
Best Ramen I've ever had and other menu items looked delicious, as well. Robots delivered Dim Sum. Good sized dining room and on this Sunday there were many patrons.
google avatar

Taige W.

Yelp
It's nice to be able to get some authentic Chinese noodles without having to make a trip to Duluth or Doraville. Their noodles are hand made and their broth tasted great. The price of food is slightly above average, but it's expected for authentic Chinese cuisine in Cobb County, as these restaurants will be noticeably pricier than those in Chinatown. I ordered their Beef and Noodles and it was delicious. I would definitely come here again.

Karrene M.

Yelp
Our favorite go to chinese food. Always cooked fresh. Clean restaurant fast service and great food everytime!
google avatar

Chris P.

Yelp
Love this place! I visit here often and they are super consistent. The soup dumplings are amazing and I love the texture of the noodles in the hand pulled noodle soups. I've tried a couple different kinds but the roast duck will always be my favorite. Online ordering is super easy and you can find it on their website, however if you're trying to order the roast duck noodle soup, it is always listed as unavailable on the ordering platform. If you don't order online you can go in and place an order and it'll take 15 minutes! For to go they put my noodles and broth separately which I appreciate, I was extremely worried about the noodles getting bloated but it wasn't a problem at all!
google avatar

Julie M.

Yelp
The food is good but the dumplings and the steam buns had the same filling. U ask for water and it is tap water. The service is just ok . The guy behind the window making the noodles is kind of amazing though to watch.
google avatar

Schon C.

Yelp
Authentic Ramen noodles, that are handmade in the kitchen right in front of you. Worth every penny you pay for your meal. While the location has plenty of parking and the interior is very simple. The food is the shining star of your dinning experience. I am giving them five stars because of the freshly made noodles in different sizes: regular, thick, thin, thinnest, plus hand pulled flat and belt noodles. I tried the pork Ramen added a fried egg and book Choi with a ginger broth. My husband had the chicken stir fried full of peppers, onions, and broccoli, so colorful. We also tried the dim sum steamed soup dumplings filled with a delicious broth and the fried pot sticker dumplings with a crunchy core. Whatever you decide enjoy your meal and tip your server. This restaurant is a golden hidden in Kennesaw, GA

Rhonda Z.

Yelp
Delicious! The soup dumplings, pork buns, dim sum items are spices beautifully and are fantastic. The noodle soups (we've glad the duck and the meatballs) hit all the right notes, perfectly cooked and spiced; their stir fried noodle (try the house specialty) and rice dishes are also delicious. On top of that it's all delivered by this cute little robot!

Brian D.

Yelp
Outstanding noodles, especially for OTP! Not cheap but generous portions of quality food.
google avatar

Yelp
The pork is magical. The shrimp fried rice delicious, not your ordinary. Love the knife cut noodles. Haven't had anything bad on their menu.

Yelp
Our first visit here! Sooo amazing! Fried potstickers 9 out of 10 Chicken stir fry 9 out of 10 Soup dumplings 8 out of 10 Duck soup 7 out of 10 ( missing some flavor but the duck was on point) Overall nice experience will definitely come again.

Yelp
Went in the mood for Ramen so me and some friends decided to check them out. 3+3 Lanzhou, was great!! I ordered the Roast Pork Hand-Pulled Noodle Soup. It was amazing a very flavorful. I always was able to try the pancake and that was great too. Loved this place and will be back! You're welcome.

Judy B.

Yelp
Nope nope nope! Not for me!!! The noodles were mushy and did not hold up to the warm broth.

Jon B.

Yelp
I introduced this restaurant to two of my associates from work and they LOVED it!! They were impressed with the freshness of the food they ate and the portion size. All three of us took home food and when I asked them the next day, how were the leftovers they all loved it!

Yelp
I've never been to the OG on Buford Hwy so this was my first time here. I was pleasantly surprised by the food's taste, decent price and inside decor. I ordered the beef noodle soup where you can pick the thickness of the homemade noodles: thin, regular or thick. I picked regular but probably should have picked the thick one which is comparable to the width of fettuccine. The broth was tasty and the beef was tender. But it wasn't the best beef noodle soup I've had. I actually like the one at Food Terminal on Buford Hwy better. For side dishes, I ordered the soup dumpling (6 large ones for $7.95) and the leek fried pancake (it's probably not called that lol). Both were great and authentic Chinese food. I'll definitely be back next time when I crave authentic Chinese food. I'm glad it's by Town Center Mall (your literally turn as if you're headed to the mall but its in one of the shopping plaza outside) so it's close to home.
google avatar

Vicky L.

Yelp
Some of the items on the menu are very good and relatively authentic, while others are not. So if you can figure out the good ones to order, you will be good. My friend got sick after eating here once (among many times. FYI, it was a lamb bun). I personally would stick to the hand pulled or shaved noodle dishes. While the broth is really nothing like the authentic Lanzhou Ramen, the noodles are much closer to the real thing. And for those who don't know, ramen, including the Japanese Kanji for it, was created in China. And Lanzhou Ramen, is a specific type of ramen from the Lanzhou Region.

Yelp
Food was delish. My 4 year old asked for "fancy noodles" and when we pulled up she saw the huge dumplings sign and asked for them by name. I didn't even know she knew what a dumpling was, but she sure ate 4 of them and half a bowl of that duck soup lol. Highly recommend. Everything was very flavorful and nice size portions. I would've given 5 starts, but they only had bottled beverages and I am part of the thirsty club, so one drink wouldn't have been enough. I opted for the tea, which was actually pretty good. Anyways, definitely go try it out.

Yelp
Very good food. Good service as well. Reminds me of their branch in Doraville that I adore. Sausage fried rice is big enough for two people. The flavor and texture is spot on. It had a nice smoky flavor that you only get from being prepared in a wok. This alone deserves a five star. They did fall short on the beef tendon pulled noodles... the soup itself was very very mild and the tendons could've used an extra 15 minutes in the pressure cooker since it was a tad bit chewy - I was hoping for that melt in your mouth kind of texture with a slight chew and more of that robust beefy flavor. However. The noodles was fresh and has a nice al dente stick-to-your-bones quality to it (I ordered thin). It had a lot of veggies and they were fresh. We also had the fried dumplings and those were also superb. Nice and crunchy bottom, soft and chewy wrap, and super tasty filling. HIGHLY recommend! All in all, it was a nice dinner for two. We ended up lots of left over and I sure look forward to it .

Yelp
I still dream about the food from here! I can't wait to go back and try more of their dumplings. Perfect season for some delicious noodles! Their water was even delicious.

Yelp
Delicious food and a robot delivers food to the table. We enjoyed all the dishes ordered.

Yelp
Very delicious food. I ordered steamed soup dumplings, beef soup, fried pot sticker dumplings and fried chives pancakes. Two days later, I am already craving for them again. I ordered to go. So, I don't know the dining service or the ambiance in the restaurant. It looks ok when I picked up my order.

Yelp
My husband and I both enjoyed our noodle soups but I think ramen is a misnomer. Ramen is Japanese and this is Chinese food as the name Lanzhou indicates. My husband and I got the pan fried pork buns as a starter but the came at the same time as our soup. I don't know how they make the "skirt" on it but is was my favorite part. I was expecting the char sui style pork. The filling in this is more like a potsticker. We both got the noodle soups with the extra egg. $1.50 is a bit pricey for one hard boiled egg. It is a traditional Chinese tea egg and I loved the hint of five spice. My husband really liked the roast pork in his. Perfect char sui. I got the roast duck. Although I loved the flavor, there was more bones than meat The bok choy and noodles were perfect. It was fun to be able to see the noodles being pulled in the kitchen.
