3Cat Handcrafted Beverage Opens on Convoy - Eater San Diego

"Named after the owners’ cats, 3Cat Handcrafted Beverage is located in the same Convoy Street plaza as Aree Bakery and Keep Coffee near Common Theory. 3Cat specializes in beverages with creative toppings made in-store every morning, using fresh fruit and no syrups or artificial ingredients. Tea choices include jasmine green tea, osmanthus oolong, and golden amber, which can all be ordered as-is or as the base for milk teas and lattes. The menu also offers fruit drinks, such as avomango sweet dew, lime explosion, cheese grape, and super orange. Layered on top of the drinks are optional toppings, like mousse and mochi, made in-house every day, three hours before the store opens its doors. Handcrafted mochi flavors include mango, matcha, or Oreo while mousse flavors include soybean, cheese, Oreo, and matcha, which is the current seasonal flavor. Add-in ingredients include mashed purple yam, osmanthus tea jelly, coconut jelly, or popping boba flavored with barley or water chestnut. First opened in 2019 in L.A., the tea shop has six locations in Los Angeles and one in Milpitas in Northern California. 3Cat Tea tells Eater they would like to open additional shops in California, possibly adding more in San Diego." - Helen I. This is one of my top favorite boba shops in San Diego! I love the strong fragrance of tea and the fact that they use fresh fruits for their fruit tea is a huge thing for me! They also fill up the cup to the max when you order no ice, which is not common at many other tea shops. It will take a while (at least 20 minutes) for your drinks to be ready so I always go right when they just open to avoid the long wait. Parking here is also difficult when it’s the busy time of the day. Nevertheless, I’m still a forever loyal customer :)

Google
Great Drinks, But Major Flaws The drinks at 3cat are truly unique and delicious—some of the most creative flavors I’ve tried! However, the experience was marred by extremely slow service. The online order wait time was wildly inaccurate (waited 60+ minutes for a "15 minute ready" order). Even worse, a beverage shop with no customer restroom is unacceptable. If you’re encouraging people to stay and enjoy drinks, basic amenities should be provided. Amazing flavors, but poor efficiency and questionable policies. Fix these issues, and it’d be a 5-star spot.

Obviously I went here on a bad night, it was packed line out the door but that’s pretty normal for anywhere in convoy anyways with absolutely no parking. They have those kiosks where you take your own order, which I don’t care about but the software they used make it super janky and the menu confusing to navigate. From what I hear this place being busy is pretty normal, so don’t expect that you can wait inside for your drink. You might get lucky and find a table, but everyone at those tables will be there for a while since they all have been waiting 30+ minutes. Luckily I had a friend next door in another boba place waiting for their drink so we can in there, but everyone one mostly went and sat in their cars. The decor is definitely cute. I waited about 35 minutes to receive this drink, and it was pretty good! I’d said worth the wait, but I wouldn’t wait again. It was one of their matcha drinks, it had a good blended consistency with a very smooth matcha flavor. My only complaint is I like the milk cap, but it was a lot and I didn’t have the option to get like “easy” on the milk cap. There were times I just drinking straight thick milk cap with no matcha and it’s definitely not pleasant…. other than that this place is very popular right now, so go at a good time where you think it won’t be busy or just prepare for a super long wait.

Google
Got the barley mochi drink and it was good! Couldn't finish it and put it in the fridge and can confirm that it still tastes great the following day. I will say the most annoying thing about this place is the parking situation. They only have 2 reserved parking spots in front and then you have to scour the area for open spots. You have to order at kiosks, so there's no human interaction. And the wait time for drinks is also long.

Google
I ordered the mango blended drink, of which the exact name escapes me. The drink itself was very aesthetic and tasted good, although I had way more foam than I expected and even with an order where I submitted “minimum sugar” it was definitely way too sweet. Next time, I’ll have to order no sugar. Additionally, the shop it kind of small and not well-maintained and not that clean. I was trying to have a conversation with a friend there and the music was loud and the air was stuffy so I would say that is a huge downside to the place. In addition, there is no parking available so you have to street park. The WiFi is also slow so I ended up using a hotspot, and there are not many chairs or power outlets available. Overall, next time I would probably mobile order and pick up rather than hang out at the shop, but I would consider coming back and trying another drink.

Google
Mango dew and mango mochi are the best! The rest of the drink are ok but not worth the wait. Service is slow, 2 drinks took 20-25 mins Not many parking, limited seating/ waiting area.

Google
Would rate 3/3!! I ordered one of their most popular drinks, the Mochi Mango, which I liked ($6.75 w/o boba, +$0.75 for boba). Their menu is unique, though there are very limited non-caffeinated options. Order ahead on Snackpass! 📱🐈🐈🐈

Google
I really enjoy the milk tea here, especially with the frequent new arrivals and seasonal specials—it keeps things exciting! However, parking can be quite difficult, and the wait time is often over half an hour. Worth the wait for the tea, but plan ahead for parking and queues.

Yelp
After waiting a little for the lines to die down, we finally tried out 3CAT. A lot of the drinks seem very innovative. We got the avocado pomelo smoothie and the mochi mango smoothie. There was still a bit of a crowd, but we got our drinks relatively quickly. The inside of the store is very nice too and there are a few tables for seating. I throughly enjoyed my mochi mango smoothie and thought it added a unique chewiness to the drink. It wasn't too sweet either and nice fresh chunks of mango. Definitely would recommend if you like mango or are looking for a non tea option. As of what I remember, they didn't have an online order system yet. They only accept orders in store with the kiosk but that might have changed. I'd stop by again for their mango smoothie.

Yelp
Let me be a hater real quick: Boba places come and go. I agree that 3Cat is up there but ... is it worth 40 mins of waiting? Unless each sip leads to an amazing epiphany and life changing experiences, I don't think so. The system they're using is not sustainable for both their workers and their customers. Maybe it's personal preference but I think limiting the amount of orders the kitchen can take is probably a better system. The kitchen isn't overwhelmed with over 100 orders that they have to organize, line up neatly and call out in relative order. At this rate, I do hope the staff gets paid a lot because the practices is bordering slave labor. All the while, you have everyone who's ordered waiting impatiently. The sheer amount of people waiting also reduces the ambiance. They spent all the time decorating the seating space only to have the cafe overly crowded. There's definitely a smarter way to get around the issue but right now, it's a money grab. You'll definitely wait 30-40 mins for a drink. You're not going to abandon it either. They make the profit, the staff gets overworked and you end up waiting for a drink that probably isn't going to be worth the 30-40 minute wait.

Yelp
Food: I got the mochi mango drink and ordered it less sweet, but it was still pretty sweet--which actually worked out because the sweetness level was just right. The mochi taste and texture were spot-on, and it added a nice chewiness to the drink. The only downside was that my cup didn't have any designs, which was a little disappointing since I've seen others with the cute logo. Service: Expect to wait about 30 minutes for your drink, especially if they're busy. They had a lot of orders ahead of mine, so it took a while, but that's just something to keep in mind. You'll see your name appear on the screen and your wait time amongst other people's names as well. There are two kiosks for customers to order on. The staff seemed efficient, though, and they were moving through the line as fast as they could. Ambiance: The place is small and really clean, with just one aisle of seating. It's not the kind of spot where you'd hang out for a long time, but it's cozy enough if you're just grabbing your drink and chilling in a bright cute place for a bit.

Yelp
My current fav boba spot in San Diego :O Always a buzzing spot - any day of the week any time of the day !! I love almost all the drinks I've tried here !! Super high-quality feel and taste. My most recent drink- Matcha Jasmine with Osmanthus Jelly: Incredible !! Their seasonal specials such as the Chocolate Earl Grey milk tea is also on point. Only caveat - be prepared to wait after ordering the drinks, especially since lots of online orders come through.

Yelp
Checked out this new boba spot in Convoy that just opened about a month ago. You order on a touchscreen, which is convenient, and while the lines aren't too long, the place stays pretty busy, and getting a table can be a challenge. It took about 20 minutes for our drinks to come out, but you could tell the employees were working hard and being meticulous with each order. I went with my go-to jasmine green milk tea with boba--loved that the tea wasn't too sweet (50% sugar was perfect), and it tasted super fresh. The boba itself was fresh and semi-sweet, though I wish the boba-to-tea ratio was just a lil higher. Despite asking for less ice, there was still a decent amount. Pricing is on the higher end--about $7.50 for a basic tea with boba and closer to $9 for more premium drinks like matcha. The ambience and aesthetics of the place are very clean and minimalistic, making it a nice spot to chill--if you can find a table. One downside is the parking situation--the small shared lot has many reserved spots for the deli next door, making it tricky to find a spot, especially during peak hours. Overall, I'd give it a 4/5--very fresh ingredients, good attention to detail, and solid quality. Breakdown: Tea/Boba: 4/5 Value: 4/5 Aesthetics: 5/5 Would definitely come back, but hoping the wait times and parking situation improve as they settle in!

Yelp
The lime drink was okay. Small crowded interior. The drink took 30 minutes to come out.

Yelp
Another great boba addition on Convoy. Be prepared to wait a long time for your boba. There's a screen depicting average wait times, so refer to that to see how long you can expect to wait before placing your order. We waited about 25 minutes on a random Wednesday during work hours. Huge props to the staff for working so hard constantly churning out drinks. The decor is cute and there are more tables and seats than I expected from a tiny location. We really enjoyed both our barley burst & avomango drink. They have a great selection of toppings including mochi and popping barley boba, making it stand out among the competition. We will definitely be back.

Yelp
I'm addicted. I got their avomango sweet dew 50% sugar the first time I came, and I often crave it now! It was so good. The texture was great and the flavors were so well balanced and it wasn't too sweet. I was apprehensive about getting an avocado-based drink but was surprised at how much I liked it. The avocado flavor was subtle but added creaminess and balanced really well with the mango. I want to try other items on their menu but every time I go, I'm craving that specific drink. The line can be long but it moves fast! There's parking available in a private lot in the plaza.

Yelp
My friends and I wanted to check this new boba spot. When we first got there, it was really busy. A lot of people had ordered and were waiting for their drinks. I believe it is kiosk only, and they had 2 kiosks you can order from. I ordered the Matcha Mochi drink. You can customize your drink's level of sugar, but not the level of ice, as well as swapping out the whipped cream for dairy-free alternatives. My drink was very delicious, one of the best boba drinks I've ever had recently! You enter your phone number and you get a text when your order is ready. They also have a screen by the counter that shows how many orders are ahead of you. The place can get pretty packed and loud depending how busy it is. It would be a nice spot to hangout at if you don't mind the noise. Various cat knick knacks and photos through the shop, which was pretty cute. Overall I like this spot a lot and will definitely come back!

Yelp
I've come here several times since their recent opening, and everything I've tried has been yummy. The drinks I've tried so far are: Jade Matcha, Jasmine Milk Tea with Mochi, and Cheese Grape. Jade Matcha: My favorite drink! The matcha and jasmine flavors go so well together, and I can really feel the caffeine which I like. It is also not too sweet! Jasmine Milk Tea w/ Mochi: Very yummy, and the drinkable mochi is so unique! I normally don't get toppings with my drinks, but this is an exception. Good jasmine tea flavor as well. Cheese Grape: Very creamy, and not too sweet! The grape flavor is there but I prefer it a little stronger. Parking can be pretty tough at this location, especially since the store owner next door blocks off spots in front of 3cat :(. Wait times can also be really long (up to 30-40 min!!) because of just how many people are ordering. This spot is so cute and worth a try, but it will be better to visit outside of their busy hours near mealtimes.

Yelp
Heard from a friend to try out this new boba place in convoy. Parking in the plaza was a bit rough, recommend to just street park outside in of the plaza. You order at these two automated kiosks. Not sure if it's because it's new or popular but on a Sunday afternoon the line was out the door. Drinks took about 10 mins or so to receive after placing an order. Since it's my first time here I went with the classic jasmine milk tea and added agar boba. It was quite tasty and I love their aesthetic cups. The Strauss organic milk they use makes the drink nice and creamy but I did have regrets several hours later as I always forget I'm lactose intolerant . There's an almond milk option which I will try next time. They have lots of fun adventurous drinks with hand made mochi and other fun blends that I'd like to try next time. Hoping it isn't as crowded as the wait to place an order did take some time away from my precious relaxing Sunday.

Yelp
Came here on a saturday afternoon and had to wait 25-30 min to even order and then another 40 min to get our drinks. I wouldn't come back on a weekend or late at night but maybe on a weekday to avoid the line. I ordered the mango sweet dew with 75% sugar and it was still soo sweet. I think this drink also comes with agar jelly and grapefuit and some other additions, and it completely overpowers the mango flavor, like this didn't even taste like a mango drink anymore. Bf ordered the jade matcha which was very good! If you're a fan of strong tea drinks, this is definitely a good drink to get. With the combo of jasmine tea with matcha, I think it's a very earthy and pleasant drink. The matcha itself is a bit grassy which isn't what I personally like but after mixing with the tea it tastes fine Overall, I feel like drinks didn't match up to the hype or the wait. The store is also kind of awkwardly set up because you have to wait in line to order at the kiosk, but since it's so busy there might not be seating available so then you're just stuck awkwardly standing in the middle of the store next to the kiosks and in front of the counter and people are trying to navigate around.

Yelp
This place easily and quickly became a favorite for me. After being taken hostage to try this place with my friends, I came two more times after by myself that same week! Every time I go I order something new and so far I have loved every drink I've ordered. If it's your first time and you like matcha I definitely recommend the mochi matcha. If you like fruit tea or want something refreshing the fruit melody is a great choice. If you want something interesting and different get the mochi barely burst. They have a very effective and efficient system for ordering drinks. They have two tablets where you wait in line to order and after ordering your name will appear on a different tablet near the counter where you can track the progress of your drink live and accurately. You barely have to speak with any workers. One major thing to note is that this place is popular since the day it opened and always has a line so expect a 20-30 min wait. Also the parking is limited and you'd have better chance finding parking on the streets than the parking lot. The shop next door is very strict about non-customers parking on their customer parking spots and one time while waiting outside for my order the owner from the shop next door came up quite aggressively to me asking if a car was mine, when I said no the man started shouting at the customers for 3cat that they can't park in their parking spaces. So just be mindful of that! 3Cat is a very cute spot but feels small because of how crowded it gets. Feels a bit claustrophobic so after ordering I stand outside and then leave after getting my drinks. But I have to say the drinks are worth it all.

Yelp
3Cat is a great addition to the numerous Asian dessert places in Convoy! I came by recently just as they opened and they already had a good amount of traffic. It's located in a worn-out looking strip mall next to a liquor store, which has blocked off most of the parking in the lot. You can probably find street parking nearby though. The shop is quite small and smells amazing, always a good sign. There are cute cat themed decorations and several little tables. You order on one of two kiosks, and there is a status board next to them that might be broken? I didn't see it update the whole time I was there. It might be too cramped to be a functional study spot though. They also play their music quite loudly, so it is hard to hear order numbers being called sometimes. I ordered the jade matcha, which might unfortunately be a seasonal drink. It is a jasmine milk tea with matcha cream on top, and I got it with the barley topping. The barley was so fun, with a creamy, chewy texture and shell reminiscent of popping boba. I've only ever had it at Bengong before this. However, it literally cost a dollar here, so I think I'll just boil it myself and add it to any future drinks I get. The jasmine milk tea was good. The tea itself was solid but not exceptional, but I appreciated that it tasted like real ingredients. I asked for less sugar and it was the perfect sweetness for me. The real standout, however, was their matcha cream top. It was STRONG. I would be afraid to find out how much matcha they actually put in it tbh. I tasted a bit of the matcha cream by itself and it was amazing; not too sweet, with a high quality matcha taste. Just by color alone, I knew it was the real deal. It was a bright, vivid green that, when mixed in, made my drink greener than some actual matcha lattes I've had! I could taste both matcha and jasmine tea, and they were so delicious together. My drink did come out to almost $8, and there was quite a long wait, but this was a delicious experience and I would definitely want to come back to try their other teas, as well as their drinkable mochi. Until next time!

Yelp
Having heard a lot of great things about their mochi, I finally was able to stop by on a Sunday. I really enjoy mochi in my milk tea drinks, and have had it done really well at a few spots. When I first arrived, parking was pretty tight but we found a spot a stone's throw away. We were immediately greeted with a long line inside. The line snakes through to end with two ordering machines. The line itself took probably 25 minutes, and it was challenging to see the menu while in line. By the time we got to the machines, there were so many options. It was difficult to pick just one drink, but we ended up with two of their recommended drinks. After ordering, we ended up waiting another 30 minutes outside since there were no tables available inside. For a bubble tea shop, I was a bit disappointed in waiting nearly an hour. They were clearly busy, but it seemed a bit too long. When we got the drinks, it was a bit underwhelming. We ordered it less sweet, but they both turned out pretty sweet. Also the mochi was lacking in chewiness, and had a slight sliminess to it. For me, it was not my favorite. The milk tea was solid, and I think I will return after a while to try out their other drinks. Hopefully after the hype dies down a bit; for now there are other bubble tea spots I will visit.

Yelp
The flavors and taste are pretty good for the comparison of other places, the prices are a bit higher but the service and the bags they give you and the location is great. I feel like I've been to a few boba places this past week and I will say this was very efficient compared to the others. What I notice is that many are using the self-kiosk and orders but this one had a timer and you could see them brew the tea. Now my go to is still Yun as they have the best tea and combo but the Jasmine milk with oat milk option is a win for 3CAT. I will say it was a bit hard to find and parking is not the best in Convoy as per usual but this place is worth a visit and you should try all their "seasonal" drinks. What got me confused was finding the receipt but with their self-service it is pretty explanatory. Tip if you go later in the evening expect a line.

Yelp
I recently visited this new tea spot because I was curious about the hype of this place. It was such a big disappointment! I came in the early morning when there was only a couple of customers before me. I placed 2 orders using their self-order kiosk and wasn't expecting to wait long. I ended up waiting for approximately 13 minutes. During this time, I witnessed two baristas at the back taking their time making my orders as they were talking. One of the baristas actually made eye contact with me as I stood there. I have no plans to come back to this place to put up with poor customer service. Time is something that shouldn't be wasted. Business strategy for management - hire those that are willing to work efficiently. Talking and gossiping at the workplace during working hours shouldn't be tolerated.

Yelp
After a great recommendation I had to come out to try this place, and it wasn't bad! I'd definitely come back to explore more of their drink options. I ordered the Mango and Matcha Mochi drink. While the tea itself was a bit weak in flavor, the toppings and add-ins helped elevate the drink. The mochi had a great consistency--soft and chewy. However, the brown sugar boba wasn't my favorite, the texture was a little softer than I expected. Overall, a decent spot with potential. Careful of parking.

Yelp
3CAT is my new favorite boba spot! I've been here a handful of times and have tried a few of drinks, but I keep coming back to their White Peach Oolong Milk Tea. I get it less sweet with less ice and it's simply perfect. So good. Amazingly strong tea flavor with a touch of sweetness and some floral notes. Their boba is really nice, chewy, and fresh! I also love their boba to milk tea ratio. They don't give you too much- it's just enough to enjoy mindfully throughout the beverage. I feel like so many other spots forget that boba is supposed to be a nice topping, not take up half the beverage. The lines can be intimidatingly long, but it moves rather quickly. Their team is super efficient and speedy. My only small gripe is the shape and orientation of the line. It wraps through this really tight corner of the store which I don't think is exactly ideal. The interior is super cute- tons of cutie cat decor and a good amount of seating!

Yelp
I absolutely love the drinks at 3Cat. There isn't much service since you order at a kiosk and wait for our drink number (you can also preorder on app). If you go during peak times, expect to wait over an hour before getting your drink. There's also limited seating, but the atmosphere is very warm and cute with cat decorations everywhere. The boba pearls have the right amount of chewiness, and the barley popping boba have a fun interesting texture (not for everyone, but I personally loved it). The drinks are one of the best in San Diego. The Mango Sweet Dew has the right portions of fruity mango and creaminess. All the matcha drinks have an authentic matcha taste that's not too sweet. The mochi barley burst is perfect for those that like a lot of texture and simple black milk tea flavor. The cheese mango has a nice balance of fruit and tea. I love how you can taste the tea flavors in each drink with plenty of different types to choose from.

Yelp
New boba spot in SD & it's delicious! 3CAT is pretty known up north so I'm glad there's one down here. I ordered: JADE MATCHA - Minimal sweetness. Even with minimal sweetness the sweetness was perfect. I loved how it wasn't grainy, the matcha foam to drink amount was great too. There's a bit of a wait but I like their system and how there's a board with your number on it to see how far you are from getting your drinks. They're working as fast as they can so be patient, the workers are super friendly.

Yelp
ITS OFFICIAL, I'M OBSESSED!!!!!!!! I should've known by the groups of ppl lining outside that this was going to be good. Despite the lack of parking at this place, they are very efficient on how to order. You get in line, you place your order on a tablet, and you can see where your place in line is amongst all the orders. This place reminds me of HeyTea in Irvine, but BETTER!!!! I could not get over how yummy my drink was. The mango was nice and sweet. My favorite was the avocado dew mango. Holy moly I didn't know such a combo would blow my socks off. I loved the Mango mochi as well but my only gripe was that the mochi would get too stuck in the straw. I feel bad for all the other bubble tea spots in the area bc this is going to be THEEEEE place to go for me now. I was supposed to go on a diet for 2025 but this place changed things. It's fruit so it's healthy right? enjoy this one ya'll!

Yelp
Wait: there was a ~10 min wait to order, there ~was 25 min wait to get the drinks. After standing for 5-10mins, one of the tables freed up so was able to sit the rest of the wait. Decor is simple, they had a bunch of tiny cat figures on their bookshelf. Drink: white peach oolong milk tea 50% sugar with boba Boba was totally overcooked and borderline mushy. Liquid itself was flavorful from the white peach essence but overall too milky I should've ordered from their top drinks, don't deviate! I'll prob wait until the crowd dies down before heading back to try a top drink.

Yelp
I've seen 3cat tea locations in LA but glad that they opened a location here! I came here mid Sunday and there was a huge line to order but it didn't take too long. Wait was about 15-20 mins which was anticipated. I got the Seasonal Jade Matcha and my friend got the Mochi Matcha. Both drinks had a strong Matcha taste which was great! I loved the mochi in hers, however I wish that there was an option to add boba to seasonal drinks. The boba in her drink was soft (I loved it as a soft boba person). I'll definitely come back once the hype dies down and probably not a weekend to avoid the lines. Great drinks and service though!

Yelp
Honestly some of the better boba in San Diego. It's almost always busy, but it's worth the wait. Jade Matcha: Don't know what to get? Get this. Maybe reduce the sweetness if you don't have much of a sweet tooth, but I would recommend this to anyone looking for something simple and good. Mochi Mango: Definitely for those who LOVE mango, and have a sweet tooth. The mochi inside the drink is definitely something different, but would I like this drink if I didn't like mangos? I'm not sure. Barely: If you've ever had a barley flavored drink, this tastes exactly like, well, barley. If you've never had a barely flavored drink... it's hard to say if you'd like this, but it's definitely something you can't knock till you try. The boba in this one is different in the sense that it tastes more like beans than boba (in a good way!) but definitely a new texture and vibe compared to regular boba.

Yelp
Another new boba spot on convoy. There's a location in Tustin and a few in 626 area in LA. My friends warned me that they waited 45 minutes their drinks. Do I think it's worth the wait? No. But it is tasty. I got the avocado mango and it comes with agar boba. It was the perfect blend and not too sweet. I haven't had anything like it. I do want to try their matcha mochi. Even on a Monday it took about 20+ minutes to get my drink with no line. Definitely recommend ordering online. Also parking lot is always filled. If you like fruit teas more than milk tea this is your spot.

Yelp
Decided to give 3CAT a try because I coincidentally had a plushie come in that morning with 3 cats stacked on one another. LOL Mochi Barley Burst was good, I liked the barley and the mochi, but the tea was lacking. Sadly wasn't strong on the tea side and tasted pretty watered down. Golden Amber Oolong Tea was actually great. Strong tea flavor and I didn't really have a complaint for this drink. Were the drinks worth the 1 hour wait? Nope. Shop was really nice though setup wise and it was super packed when I went. Will be back but only when the crowds die down. Overall rating: Food: 8/10 Service: 10/10 Menu: 8/10 Restaurant Vibes: 9/10 Price to Overall Dining (POD): 8/10

Yelp
Taking over Sharetea, 3CAT has quickly become a favorite boba shop amongst our friend group. And it seems like it's the same for the rest of San Diego because I always see large groups of people inside all the time! And despite the crowds, they ordering system seems pretty streamlined and I've never had to wait too long. If you're familiar with the area, you'll know that parking in front is pretty limited but they have some dedicated parking for 3CAT. You can also either park in the Common Theory parking lot or on some of the side streets, which is what we did. And the space inside is pretty small so don't expect to find peace and quiet if you want to study here. Ordering is completely done through kiosks and there's even a display that shows all of the drink orders and statuses. I'm normally a milk tea kind of a guy but decided to try the Super Orange instead. This is a jasmine green tea mixed with fresh orange juice and I had my doubts but wow! I actually really liked how refreshing this was. It was more like drinking tangerine juice with some tea in it. But make sure you try your drink before you walk out of the store! I came back and ordered this a second time and it was so bitter...as if they forgot to put any sugar/syrup at all. Will be back to try their other drinks!

Yelp
One of my new favorite boba stops! Although parking is tough, the cute decor and quality of drinks make up for it. I got their popular mango sweet dew and it was not to disappoint. It was very much like a mango sago and was not too sweet. We waited around 10-15 minutes for our drinks to come out but luckily was able to find a seat. If you're in the area, would definitely recommend coming out!

Yelp
Mango Sweet Dew (5/5): Tasted like mango sago, really yum! A bit sweet if you enjoy your drinks that way. Jasmine Green Tea with Soybean Mousse (5/5): I like my drinks to have a strong tea flavor, and this was it! I chose soybean mousse over the cheese because I wanted something light, and it was the perfect combo. Lots of tables inside, super cute and decorated. Drinks took a bit to come out but it was fairly busy!

Yelp
Tried the jade matcha and the avocado mango drink and they were both so good! The jade matcha is seasonal and I believe it's a jasmine milk tea with matcha foam. There are two self ordering screens when you first walk in. The place gets kinda busy on weekends and there's limited parking in front that is specifically for 3cat, but there's more parking on the other side of the lot. Drinks took a while to come out but we went mid day on Sunday so understandable. Very cute vibe inside! Would most definitely go back to any of their locations in socal!

Yelp
The line was deterring me from trying them out the other night, but it wasn't too bad of a wait. Their Jade Matcha (jasmine latte with matcha mousse) is delightful. I hope this [seasonal] drink remains on the menu! The Mochi Mango is probably fattening, but so good. It's a great dessert for evenings, when it's too late to consume caffeine. The Avomango Sweet Dew is also a good dessert drink. The Golden Amber Milk Tea is one of my favorite teas here; it has a tea forward flavor. The Cheese Mango was decent. The Mochi Barley Burst was my least favorite drink I've had, the toppings made it weird. Less sugar is the perfect sweetness for me. Minus a star for the lack of an efficient ordering system: you wait in line and can only order through the kiosks. There's only 2 kiosks; and I can imagine the customers who are indecisive and leisurely taking their time adjusting each item to their preference holding up the line. Eventually, hopefully soon, we'll be able to order online.

Yelp
The shop is extremely cute and bright. I liked how ordering took place on kiosks. Lots of unique options for drinks and toppings are offered. Parking in this lot is pretty terrible. I saw that 3cat has a few designated parking spots, but they'll be likely taken up. Street parking is the way to go. The line inside is pretty narrow and claustrophobic with how the store is set up. The wait to order can be long since people take their time on the ordering kiosks. Tables were pretty sticky and dirty, though the employees are super busy making drinks so it's understandable. The drinks were good. I got the Golden Amber milk tea which was a kinda sweet refreshing oolong. I liked how there was an oat milk alternative option. The cream top with candied pecan pieces was pretty addicting. The wait for the drinks can take a while. However, wait times are displayed on a screen. Maybe don't come here if you're in a rush and the store is busy. The wait was ~25 mins for 4 drinks. Also I wasn't a fan of the straw lengths. For some drinks, the straw was way too long. For my drink the straw was way too short and difficult to use at the end of the drink.

Yelp
Although there was a line it went by pretty fast , i probably waited less than 10 mins on a busy Friday night I ordered a mochi barley burst and a fruit medley tea. The little barley bites was a great topping for the first drink i ordered and it was well balanced , i ordered regular sugar and it was made as such. They offered oat milk which was a nice substitute offer. The fruit medley tea was refreshing with infusions of real strawberry , lime and orange - i recommend the 2nd drink i ordered if you don't want to go heavy with a milk tea While you wait, check out the cool cat motifs deeper inside the store

Yelp
I loved my drink. A flavorful milk tea with sugar options and oat milk options. My girlfriend also got a nice fruit iced tea. Our friends ordered the more signature drinks, like the matcha mochi drink and the pecan something late. They did not like theirs. Mochi was hard to drink and the drinks were doing a lot. I'm a fan of the tablet ordering. Easy to customize so hard to mess things up. The space is a good size for a boba shop too. Enough room to sit with friends.

Yelp
Cool vibe, good drinks. Plenty of street parking. Line is always long but service is fast!

Yelp
This place just opened recently, but it's already running quite smoothly. I like how there's a giant menu posted outside so that you can see the menu before going in. They have two giant touchscreens to place your orders on, and I appreciate how there are photos and descriptions of each drink. Something else that sets this place apart is that they have a big screen that displays the wait time for your drink to be prepared, and they update it very promptly. When your drink is finished, your name moves up to the top where it says "ready". I felt like this was really helpful, and eliminates the need to wonder when it'll be ready. My drinks were ready about 10 minutes before the initial wait time estimate. On to the drinks, I ordered the Mango Sweet Dew ($6.75) which is a smoothie made of jasmine green tea, fresh mango, coconut milk, house made milk, agar boba, and pomelo. This was a 10/10 drink because it was the perfect blend of all the flavors. I love the amount of toppings that they put in there, especially the fresh mango. I also got a seasonal drink called Taro Matcha Delight, which came with matcha, milk, fresh mashed taro, and fresh rice mochi. The mochi was really tasty, and I like the balance between the matcha and taro. I will definitely return to try more drinks!

Yelp
I've heard good things about this place, saw the line out the door, and had to try! I got the mochi matcha and loved it and would definitely get it again. The mochi texture was perfect however there were some chunks in it, not sure if it was supposed to be like that. I got less sweet and it balanced with the matcha really well. The store is really cute with a cozy ambiance. I love the cat trinkets on the shelves too! There's plenty of seating for how small the store is. Just a heads up, the parking lot is really small and the location is a bit inconvenient, but I definitely recommend coming here.

Yelp
Another LA/OC area import has established a presence in the Convoy District with the soft opening of 3CAT Handcrafted Beverage. They have replaced a large chain that had been a longtime tenant of a suite next door to a liquor store. The parking situation was not good to say the least because most of the spaces out front were reserved for the liquor business. You have to park closer to Common Theory and walk over. There was a small line out the door when I arrived as the place was currently operating with limited hours between 5 and 9 pm. A worker was only letting in several customers at a time. When I made it inside, I understood why the queue was moving slowly. A lady at the counter was hand writing orders on sticky notes and giving them to other staff members to prepare the drinks. There was no cash register or tablet to collect orders so the manual process bogged everything down. A tasting menu of nine drinks was being featured which restricted what could be ordered. I selected two items, a Mochi Mango and a Lime Explosion. For the latter, I requested barley popping boba to be added as I had never tried that topping before. What caught me by surprise was that they were only accepting payments via Zelle. I didn't have an account set up through that app which delayed my checkout for another 10 minutes or so. If a business is going to open to customers, then they really needed to have their logistics nailed down first. A point of service system should have been established not only to efficiently process orders but to accept multiple forms of payment. To solely take Zelle transactions was extremely limiting, and I wasn't about to waste the 20 minutes of wait time I had already spent. This aspect of my experience resulted in a one star deduction. As for the drinks, the Mochi Mango was quite sweet, but I enjoyed the chewy balls. The citrus flavor in the second drink was very strong because four lime slices were included in the cup. The texture of the barley boba was grainy instead of a smooth pearl. For these products, I gave a four star rating. I hope the 3CAT Handcrafted Beverage team can quickly remedy the lack of a register at the counter. They certainly should not have a grand opening later this month until the issue has been resolved.

Yelp
There must've been a big following of 3CAT since the soft/grand opening were both so busy, and they've continued to remain busy to this day! They do have a fairly efficient ordering system though, so things always move quickly. - PARKING - Limited parking, be mindful as a few spots right in front of the store are reserved for neighboring businesses! You'd either have to park in the lot to the right near Common Theory, or there's also a few spaces in the back/side street. - SERVICE/ENVIRONMENT - All ordering goes through two touchscreen kiosks, which are pretty easy to use. Once you order, you can see the status of your drinks on their display which I think is super useful! Other boba shops don't have this, and sometimes you wonder if your order is still being worked on. The seating area inside isn't huge, but there hasn't been a time when we were packed like sardines and couldn't move around. They have cute cat figurines on the shelves - unfortunately every time we come back, it seems like people take some of them or move them in random places. - DRINKS - I've been here a few times now, and my personal favorites are: - Mango Mochi - Oolong Milk Tea - Jasmine Milk Tea There was one visit when my friend got the Fresh Orange, and it was very bitter. Almost like they forgot the sugar completely. Another time my fiance got the Lime drink and that was also too bitter. So maybe their fruit drinks need a bit more fixing, but their milk drinks have all been good so far. - OVERALL - A new solid boba shop, will definitely be going back to try out more of their menu!

Yelp
The drinks are good! There's a lot of unique drinks options and seasonal drinks. Only downside is the long lines as they don't have online ordering yet and the lines usually out the door. However the drinks are made pretty fast considering how busy it is. It's pretty cute inside too Drinks: 4/5 Service: 4/5 Ambiance: 4/5

Yelp
Avomango sweet-5/5 White peach oolong-5/5 The drinks here are actually REALLY REALLY good and not too sweet at all! It just opened up and honestly takes the cake for being one of the best boba places. Definitely going to be a new favorite! They have ordering screens instead of cashiers, and a nice seating area. I will say that it is difficult to get parking in this plaza, but overall a this is a MUST TRY.

Yelp
This is THE hot new handcrafted drinks shop in Convoy! The shop is located where Share-tea formerly resided. Line was out the door on a Wednesday night. Ordering is done exclusively on two touchscreens and the menu was on display in the TVs in front of the touchscreens. I ordered the Mango Sweet Dew ($6.75) and the Mochi Mango ($6.75). The Mango sweet dew is incredible. It's fruity, creamy, and sweet. Mangos are not even in season but the drink was still amazing. The Mochi Mango was solid. I liked the mochi which was soft and flavorful and complemented the sweet mango nicely. A digital receipt keeps you up to date on the status of your order and there is a TV in front of the drinks counter where you can see your order number with relation to the other drinks being served. Interior of the shop is very clean and modern and I got Bay Area vibes throughout my experience here. Unfortunately, there is no AC which isn't as much of a problem during the winter but could be a significant issue come summertime. This is already my second time coming since the shop opened two weeks ago so I definitely foresee many more visits.

Yelp
Wow I guess I haven't been keeping up with the hot boba spots! I just learned of this new spot and when I went it was so busy! The line took some time to get through and the wait to get the drinks was probably even longer. It was really stuffy and claustrophobic waiting in line and unfortunately may smell like smoke sometimes due to the location. I think it would be great to come here when it's not as busy! As for drinks, I loved the mango dream drink that I got. I think that's what it was called? It's the one with the pomelo, coconut milk, agar boba, and mango pieces. It tasted really yummy and like real natural mango, which I always appreciate. I got 25% sweet and it was wonderful, I might try 0% next time!

Yelp
Wow I'm a fan! so excited for this boba shop to enter the Convoy area because we've been needing more options with this type of quality! There is no in person ordering here, and all done on tablets so if you want adjustments or have questions, you can do it on the app or ask them at the pick up counter. The aesthetics in here are SO SO cute. They have light oat wood with light colorful finishes that is so trendy. There are also so many cat figurines around the place that brings the space character. I loved the white peach oolong milk tea and jasmine milk tea. these are usually my go-tos to test out a boba shop for its quality and it passes. :')

Yelp
I recently checked out 3CatTea after a friend recommended it and I'm hooked. The shop has a really cute vibe and it's a chill spot to grab a drink. I tried the Mango Sweet Dew and it was so refreshing, perfect for a warm day. They've got all kinds of cool flavors, so I'm definitely going back to try more!

Yelp
There's only 2 parking spots for this store in the tiny parking lot so you do have to find parking a little bit away. There are 2 kiosks for self order which is pretty convenient. There are a couple of seats but it's not a big space so it doesn't strike me as a location to stay and chat since it gets a bit crowded inside. I got the matcha mochi slush. The matcha drink itself is good, parallel to other boba shops but doesn't stand out by itself. At the bottom there is handcrafted mochi which is very unique and quite delicious. I've never had such soft and tender mochi that could be sucked up through a straw before. It brought some texture to the matcha slushy and went well with it. The prices are pretty average for boba places nowadays. I would come back to try some other drinks.
