"Named after the owners’ cats, this newly opened tea shop in the Convoy District is operating on limited hours as it gears up for a grand opening on November 15. Located in the same Convoy Street plaza as Aree Bakery and Keep Coffee (near Common Theory), it specializes in beverages with creative toppings made in-store every morning, using fresh fruit and no syrups or artificial ingredients. Tea choices include jasmine green tea, osmanthus oolong, and golden amber, which can be ordered as-is or used as the base for milk teas and lattes; fruit drinks on the menu include avomango sweet dew, lime explosion, cheese grape, and super orange. Layered on top of drinks are optional toppings like mousse and mochi, both made in-house every day three hours before the shop opens: handcrafted mochi flavors include mango, matcha, and Oreo, while mousse flavors include soybean, cheese, Oreo, and matcha (the current seasonal flavor). Add-ins include mashed purple yam, osmanthus tea jelly, coconut jelly, and popping boba flavored with barley or water chestnut. First opened in 2019 in Los Angeles, the concept now has six locations in Los Angeles and one in Milpitas; the shop tells Eater it would like to open additional California locations, possibly adding more in San Diego." - Helen I.
