3G Trois Gourmands

"Since it opened in 2004, this establishment, a household name in Saigon, has been synonymous with classic French dining. The lavish interior sports ornate chandeliers and stained-glass windows. Most of the ingredients on the extensive menu are flown in from France, but the owner insists on making his own cheeses. All the fish dishes and the classic duck leg confit are excellent main courses. Welcoming yet formal, the service is suitably starched." - Michelin Inspector

"Housed inside a District Two whitewashed colonial villa with a pool out back just a few hundred feet from the Saigon River, 3G Trois Gourmands prepares fine French cuisine. The menu is largely old-school classic French, with dishes like venison fillet and lobster with butter sauce, and pages devoted to desserts and ice creams. The country-style decor includes plenty of flowers and basic wooden shelves stocked with bottles of wine. There's also a bar situated under a conservatory-style glass roof. The selection of cheeses, many of them made in-house, is impressive."

Not in plain sight , was recommended by locals. Well rounded french restaurant that I willing part my cash on the indulgence. A detailed breakdown of my experience is as follows: Bread is crumbly , warm n crisp Butter mild. Lightly salted. Egg scrambled with truffles is rather meh. Runny scrambled with way too coarse pepper. Giving individual a chock on the throat. No very distinctive truffle taste. Only a little well cooked mushroom bits on it. Appetizer of lobster n asparagus Foam sauce is great, multi level of taste anchor with lobster umami Asparagus could be more crisp 😁 bite. Love the caramelised onion. Well done. Lobster is filled with favour and wholesome bite. Palet cleanser of lemon sorbet is light in favour yet distinct acidic kick. A change of taste of the plum assorted give it another elevated level of balance. Main Beef cheek with fore gas . Fantastic. Bater beef cheek give off a excellent crisp in contrast with it's inner softness. Fore gas is crisp yet not overpowering fatty. Mash potatoes is semi mash with bits of unmash inside giving it an additional texture. Sauce on its on mild bitter but the combination of all 3 is perfect. House pour red flowery sweet. Spice end. Cheese mild cream cheese with assorted toppings. On the sour side. Olive was a nice combination but overall nothing impressive. Additional strong cheese give much more kick . Leathery textured and taste of cured fish. Dessert pear was lovely done. Mild sugary sweetness with fruity after taste. Pair with congac is perfect. Bringing our the oak favour of the spirit. Vanilla ice cream is smooth and rich. Almond provided is roast to smoky . Dark chocolate sauce is bringing a balance to the dishes. Overall a good experience, not to much patron is a good thing too.

I just had the chance to visit the best authentic French restaurant in Vietnam for the second time, and I have to say - it's truly something special. The first time I dined here for dinner, I was blown away by the incredible flavors and attention to detail. This time, I decided to stop in for lunch, and the experience was just as remarkable. The food is so incredibly tasty and really captures the essence of classic French cuisine. As a tourist, I consider it excellent value for money - the quality is top-notch, and the prices are very reasonable. I'll definitely be returning again❤❤❤

Beautiful fine dining experience! Absolutely wonderful experience mum and I spent at the 3G Trois. Friendly staff and really felt took good care of throughout. Food at high quality from freshly baked bread rolls and a mouthful size truffle scrambled egg were a yummy start. Entree and main course has so many options to choose from, plus 6 types of cheese platter and desserts… you will be so full by the end. For cost only US$60per person for 5 courses for a French dinner at this quality which is very reasonable. Highly recommended and for sure I will go again if I get a chance to visit HCMC next time.

Trois Gourmands is still my family's favorite fine dining restaurant for more than a decade ❤️ Delicious truffle scrambled eggs are nowhere to be found but here. We ordered their tasty unique foie gras spring rolls as always. We also enjoyed the thinly sliced fresh scallops blended with a layer of olive oil with a sweet vanilla scent. The truffle sole was just delicious, so I didn't need to add its red wine sauce… We were so full that they packed the cheese for us to take home. Then we ate some ice cream desserts to refresh our palate. Such a delicious menu is only $65 for 1 adult & 1 child, because if you just eat alone, taking the $55 menu is enough.

A pleasant French experience that incorporates a touch of Vietnamese fusion in the food, setting, and service. It was an elegant meal which I especially enjoyed coquilles St Jacques, and a good value for a prix fixe dinner. I had my choice of a la carte menu items and more. An amuse bouche, a palate cleanser, and Cognac at the end of dinner were all lovely touches. I took home part, really most, of the cheese course since there was dessert too.

This place is super underrated! Went on a Friday night and it was pretty quiet. Came here to celebrate my boyfriend’s birthday and the service was impeccable! I really loved the appetisers as well. Had a 7 course meal each which was quite filling! By the time they served the cheese (which is the second last course) I was already full. The aged cheese was too strong for our Asian palate but we enjoyed the cream cheese (reminded us of tofu lol). They also gave us a complimentary birthday dessert. Staff was lovely and attentive. Best dishes: egg truffle, raw and smoked tuna, scallops, lemon sorbet, beef fillet, raspberry millefeuille

I came here with my fiancée for my birthday a couple of days ago. This is easily one of the best French restaurants I've been to in my life, and I say this as someone who is part French, was born in Paris and has been to a good number of Michelin starred restaurants in France. In particular, the Magret de Canard à l'orange, which is one of my all-time favourite dishes, and not an easy one to get right, deserves the most recognition - having had it (and struggled to find in recent years) at many different restaurants in Paris, I can say that this is the first time I've found one that can truly rival the one I make myself at home. The sauce had just the right proportions of orange juice, orange zest, and orange licor, something that takes years of practice to truly master. The foie gras spring roll is a very unique and also masterfully prepared starter which I highly recommend as well - but then again those are just the things I ordered, and I have the impression that there are many more gems on this menu that I still need to explore. The portions are very generous though, so if you're going for the dégustation menu, you should make sure to be very hungry when you come here! I will definitely be back, as often as I'm able to in between my travels. The Trois Gourmands is a very underrated pearl of fine dining in Saigon. Guidebooks and critics should definitely revisit it and pay more attention!

Located along a quiet alley in District 2, 3G Trois Gourmands provides a refined yet relaxed dining experience. A perfect spot for a leisurely weekday lunch, it was quiet and peaceful. Standout dishes included tender foie gras and buttery escargots to start. While duck was unavailable, the 36-hour slow cooked lamb shoulder more than made up for it - it melted in the mouth. Homemade mille-feuille with fresh, flaky pastry was a joy. I savored every bite wishing I had more time to indulge in their artisanal cheese platter too. Prices for 6 courses from 1440000VND went up to 2390000VND! They serve the same multi-course for lunch and dinner.
