"Home to one of our in Austin, the people behind Saigon Le Vendeur closed their trailer and opened a brick-and-mortar right across the street from the old location on the East Side. For now, the menu is mostly the same—with bánh mì, vermicelli bowls, and curry ramen—but it’s expected to expand as the restaurant continues to grow and build out. " - Nicolai McCrary

"Saigon Le Vendeur, the newly minted Eater 38 food truck, opened its second location in downtown Austin. The Vietnamese truck will be found in the corner lot at Congress Avenue and 3rd Street, taking over Snap Kitchen’s space, which is now closed, as noted by an eagle-eyed tipster. Chef and owner Tebi Nguyen’s downtown menu will be limited to just four banh mi, which could include the original cold cuts with pate spicy chicken, pork, and tofu options. The downtown Saigon is open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the weekdays. Saigon’s East 7th Street food truck will remain open. It will also continue to operate its truck at the Sustainable Food Center’s downtown farmers market on Guadalupe Street on Saturdays." - Nadia Chaudhury

As a Vietnamese transplant from Houston(where all the Viet food is fire) this is the first Bahn Mi I’ve had in the Austin area in 6 years that I thought was on point. Everything tasted super fresh, the bread was Crispy and Soft as it should be. The carrots and daikon were nicely pickled, fresh cucumber, cilantro. The staff was super friendly, and the prices were not outrageous.

This is my top three best vermicelli grilled pork I've ever had. The meat is perfectly flavorful and tastes just like I've had in Vietnam. Try the fish sauce that comes with it! It's delicious and definitely worth the try

So good! I tried their pork belly ramen and their pork bahn mi (several times) and they are amazing. I introduced this place to my coworkers and it's their new favorite too! We go 2-3 times a week. We're hooked!

Spicy chicken vermicelli bowl with an egg. Tasty, fresh ingredients. Nice spicy fish sauce and big salad leaves. Portions were modest for the price but pretty filling. Got a small bone in one chicken piece.

Ordered 4 banh mi sandwich for myself and staff and pork was nothing but fat. Super nasty and then we found hair in our sandwich. I will not be returning!!! I do not reccomend.

So tasty. Had the spicy chicken, can't wait to go back and try the pork and the tofu. Friendly service as well.

Excellent bread (crispy crust) and loaded with crunchy vegetables and flavorful pork. I'll definitely visit again.
