4 Every Occasion Cakes & Cupcakes

I’m so happy I stumbled upon 4 Every Occasion Cakes and cupcakes ! I celebrated my 60th birthday in November of this year and wanted to give my birthday squad something sweet. I had a beach theme, as I celebrated in Barbados so 4 Every Occasion Cakes and cupcakes made flip flop cookies which said Nina’s 60th. Not only were they delicious, they were super cute as well. The cookies were just what I needed to complete the birthday box favors! I had the pleasure of trying the Pistachio cake from 4 Every Occasion Cakes & Cupcakes, and it was absolutely amazing! The cake was incredibly moist and tender, with the perfect balance of flavors. The pistachio came through beautifully without being overpowering, making each bite a real treat. If you're looking for a delicious and well-crafted dessert, I highly recommend giving this place a try! I'll definitely be back for more.

I have rode by this Bakery many times heading to the Amish Market with my husband. When I saw her on social media it made us want to pay the Philly Cake Lady a visit. I know she is known for her Pistachio Cake but her Chocolate Chocolate Cake won me over and I like the nice size slices too. Now I judge every chocolate cake by hers. If doesn’t taste close to PCL I don’t want to waste my money.

What can I say about 4 Every Occasion Cakes and Cupcakes? One word, ok, two words- incredibly delicious! I've tried several of their baked goods, but by FAR, my fav is the Pistachio cake. It was rich with flavor and super rich and moist. It has pieces of pistachio nuts in it instead of just having the color and flavor additives. The Philly Cake Lady is a master baker who demonstrates her passion for exceptional quality baked goods on top of exceptional customer service.

Excellent service, professional, friendly, and knowledgeable about what type of cake and dessert you need for every occasion. I love there cakes, they are moist and delicious. My favorite is the Pistachio Cake. Soooo good, but I’ve tried their butter pound cake also and it is definitely a winner. You can’t go wrong with this black owned business. Support it, you won’t be sorry. She’s really an outstanding baker on the map. Shipping is carefully done and expedited. She has anointed hands to bless you with any type of cake you need.

This bakery has the Best Cakes & Sweets I’ve ever tasted. The customer service is superb. The design and details for each cake is fantastic. I highly recommend The Philly Cake Lady. I order a cake for every celebration. I also love the slices. The Strawberry crunch and Chocolate Cake are my absolute favorites.

This bakery is a real Gem on Cottman Ave. Any taste you may have and any occasion you need sweets for. This is your place. Red Velvet cup cakes are my sons favorite I’m a cheesecake fan. You can satisfy your whole family with the deliciousness right here. I’m a picture person but each time we get desserts. It’s so good I forget pictures. I will try to my best next. Or just go see for yourself how magnificent these treats are. Your taste buds will be doing a happy dance.

Beautiful fondant cakes that also taste delicious! Over the past couple years I’ve purchased several expensive fondant cakes from various bakeries and freelance bakers. They’ve always looked great but have tasted dry, or relatively underwhelming for the price. Then after a friend’s recommendation I decided to try 4 Every Occasion Cakes & Cupcakes. EVERYONE loved the cake! I even received calls and texts after the event asking where I bought it. Moist, flavorful, and beautiful!! It was the vanilla flavored cake. You wont be disappointed. Oh and the other fancy cakes I saw when I was picking my cake up were works of art. Bring your imagination and pictures, she will not disappoint!

Wife surprised me by grabbing some desserts from a bakery her friend told her about. The crazy thing is the place is so close to our house and never knew of it. Both cakes were very fresh and tasty but the lemon cake was the real standout. Not overpowering on the lemon flavor and the cake was a moist poundcake. The icing is sublime, creamy not overly sweet and perfect. For sure we'll be back to try more goodies. Bravo and bake on.

The pastry was horrible. Dry and tasteless. Don't know how anyone could recommend them. The only nice thing was the young lady that waited in us. If like to give this place less than 1 star. Save your money and taste buds

I do not recommend. A birthday cake was ordered. I was given attitude as the name was spelled wrong. The name has a standard spelling. The name was not spelled in the standard way. She was huffing, puffing, and talking under her breath. At one point she was singing. When ordered no one asked for spelling or any clarification.

Went to this bakery today and the workers were nice, helpful and patient. Cupcakes and cake slices are Divine. One slice is 5.00 and is more than enough for 2 People. They also to theme cakes but need 1 week for order. Will be back and definitely recommend. Pictured is the cake I destroyed. Just wish they had longer hours. If you work during the work day, you will miss out.l. #noshame. #blackowned

My experience was excellent! I called and they were very busy so they took my number and called me back. I was able to order a last minute birthday cake after I sent them a photo of what I would like. The cake designer did a wonderful job - Really talented. It looks almost exactly like my original photo. They did tell me in advance that they were unable to provide macaroons on the cake. The buttercream flavor was really moist. We ordered 3 last minute cakes and this one had the best flavor and also came the furthest. It was picked up the day before (kept in our refrigerator) and brought to Long Island the next day. I give them 5 stars because I would definitely recommend them and use them in the future. One thing to note was that the price was higher than the other cakes but I wasn't sure if this was because we ordered it rush (different state)versus the others with similar style different design. Next time, I will call further ahead. Well worth it for the experience and occasion. Thank you.

My Favorite Bakery!! I was referred by a family member and never went anywhere else. Customer Service is GREAT! The owner and staff are AMAZING! The MOST important things we all will want to know.... All of my cakes were amazing and delicious!

I placed an order on Monday to have 2 cakes shipped within the US.. I was told the order would be shipped on Tues.and arrive on Fri. However I was not told that it would not arrive until 9 PM. I'm extremely disappointed and angry because I wasted $140+ expecting the cakes to arrive by the end of the business day. I definitely would not recommend!

4Every Occasion is one of those bakeries that offer great service & artistic delicious cakes & treats. It has become a staple within my family functions. We've gotten specialty cakes, layer cakes & has even stopped in for their yummy cupcakes, cookies, pineapple upside down cakes, banana pudding, pistachio cake & even the ice cream. They have it all. We've ordered a total of 4 birthday cakes (see photos. Yes he turned 99!) & even a Holiday Thanksgiving cake. :0) All moist & incredibly delicious! More to come soon. The bakery is clean, professional, great customer service & the product is always delicious. See the pictures of my family destructive approval lol. Best Bakery in Philadelphia without a doubt.

Stopped in yesterday since my girlfriend was raving about this place and I have to say I was impressed. I grabbed a slice of the lemon cake and banana pudding cheesecake. Cheesecake was good but the lemon cake stole the show. The lemon flavor was not overpowering and pound cake was moist and delicious. The frosting was so amazing and probably one of the best frostings I have had in a long time. Will definitely go back.

Husband ordered me a strawberry cake. Delish. Moist. Did I say delish? Beautifully decorated. I asked for a cream cheese frosting but he forgot to ask. I looooove strawberry cakes. I will be back. New fan over

This review is well overdue. I needed cupcakes made for a pastoral ordination and wanted to support a Black-owned business. I came across 4 Every Occasion Cakes & Cupcakes in a Google search. I placed my order online with no idea of what I wanted the decorations to look like so I uploaded several pictures. A woman called me a few minutes later and we talked through the designs to come up with what I thought was perfect. She suggested that I come in to go over the design but I was placing the order from out of state. Deposit is required upon order confirmation. The price was comparable to other bakeries I've ordered from. I picked them up the morning of the ordination, was able to get street parking right outside. When I walked in, I was warmly greeted and my cupcakes were ready. They looked great! They tasted even better!! They were a hit! Perfect texture, not too sweet. 4 Every Occasion Cakes and Cupcakes will be my go to bakery for all my events in Philadelphia.

5 stars! I called this shop on a Thursday for my daughter's birthday party on Saturday (long story) . They were so kind and accommodating and the cake they did was amazing and delicious. Don't mind the white spot , my 5 year old stuck her finger in the cake the minute I took it out of the box. I will definitely use them next time I need a cake

The best cakes on earth, hands down. Ever since I came to this bakery about 3years ago, I've never thought of or bought anything from another bakery. Everything in there is delicious, whatever you buy you can't go wrong. The staff is always friendly and professional. I simply love this bakery. Please go and treat yourself, you won't regret it.

The worst....the absolute worse....order some stuff from her for my daughter's birthday party and was grossly overcharged and when I finally realized it (not even a full 24 hrs after deposit) I went back to get a refund of my money (because I full paid)....the counter person was lovely conveying the messages back and forth between me and the owner but THE OWNER attitude towards me was unacceptable...our entire conversation she spoke over me and barely let me get a word in and was very condescending....it actually brung me to tears speaking with her because I did not at all come off rude or irrigate just expressing how I felt overcharged NEVER GO HERE! Oh and the kids said their cookies taste like eggs and the cupcakes were dry so a waste of $223

I have liked every cake that I experienced until I ordered one from this bakery. I am very easy to please but I was disappointed with my experience. The price was Very high. I thought it would be worth it based on the pictures and reviews but it was far from it. The cake I ordered had a dull image, It was missing detail and it was very dense and dry. It did not look or taste good. Everyone wasted it.

I really wanted to like this place - so much so that I placed a specialty cake order for my mom's 60th birthday. It was to be a theme cake with some decorations and a gum paste character on top. These special characters take a while to construct and cost extra money, and I was happily willing to pay for this. I placed my order in person with printed pictures, and the girl who took my order was very detailed and patient. I put down a 50% deposit. I returned yesterday (one week later) to pick up my cake. After much searching through paperwork and confusion, I was told that someone had apparently put the order form "in the wrong place" and therefore, no cake had been made. 5 hours before the party was to begin. The owner stated she had not had a chance to look over the paperwork but could quickly make a modified version of the cake and deliver it without the gum paste character on top. She offered a discount, but the "discount" was merely subtracting the amount of the gum paste figure which I would now not be getting. This was a bit insulting, and I asked for a refund of my deposit and left the store cake-less. As I stated, I really wanted to like this place because their cakes look great. Unfortunately, I didn't have the opportunity to find out for myself. If placing an order here, I recommend calling to confirm - it beats having a disappointed family and no cake!

I would love to be able to write a review about the actual cakes but unfortunately am unable to do so in accordance with the service I experienced last night. I had been very excited to try a bakery that was close to where I live because I have a huge sweet tooth and often have to default to the Country Club diner down the street to buy myself treats. I walked in and even though no one was at the counter, I did hear a few people working in the back and knew someone would be out shortly to help me choose a few cupcakes. Unfortunately during that time a different customer walked in AFTER me and when the owner came out front, she completely ignored my presence and instead helped the person who walked in second. Was I happy about this? No, however it would have been completely overlooked if the owner had at least acknowledged my presence or had asked the other worked who I could hear in the back to come out front and help me. All it takes is a simple "I will be with you in one moment.", a simple acknowledgment that I was standing there waiting and all would have been fine. After being ignored and feeling neglected while waiting I decided to simply walk out. I do not like being treated like a second rate customer and that is exactly how I felt. I think if you are the owner of an establishment it is even less excusable.

I was so disappointed because I really wanted to try this place out. I go in and the one person working behind the counter was helping another customer. That was fine. I like the one on one with the customer. However this place has a small selection and it's really just on cakes. I was looking for Halloween cookies. They had none at all accept regular cookies. I was very surprise that they didn't make any to sell for special holiday's. I can only speak on them not having the cookies. I recommend calling before u go up to the shop.

The Baby Shower Cake I ordered for my Sister In Law's shower was a hit. It looked exactly like the picture & it tasted delicious. I'll be ordering from this bakery again.

I needed a regular round birthday cake so I saw the bakery stated you could walk in and get one, great I thought. I went in on a Saturday morning around 10 and asked for a bday cake. I was told the decorator was not in yet, I was told they would be in around noon and I could get my cake then. I came back around noon and was told yes the decorator was in HOWEVER I would have to wait 20 min for the cake. Confused, if you have ready to pick up bday cake why the wait? The cake was good, every one enjoyed it but if you don't have cakes ready to just pick up then that should be noted as well. I was the only person in the shop so the wait confused me. Again, the cake was very good but the wait for the regular birthday cake is what I am reviewing for.

Had an amazing experience from the moment i walked in. I was greeted warmly by the staff, and the lady who took my order was very polite. I accidentally dropped my cake. When I brought it back to them, they fixed it free of charge! Will be back in the near future.

When I'm having a cheat day this is where I come to get dessert. I've never gotten a whole cake, but the slices and cupcakes are SO rich and delicious. My favorite is the lemon cake with buttercream icing. So delicious. The cake is always very fresh. I'm always able to park right out front (metered), I'm always greeted as soon as I walk in, the customer service and presentation are excellent. Prices seem to be on the same level as any other bakery in the area. I plan to try a whole cake for my next event.

Really pretty cakes, however rude customer service. I went in to order a cake, was not greeted , spoke to me all while talking to another staff and never looked up. Very expensive and I believe so because they take Ebt. I was just directed to pick out of a book, she never made eye contact. I was not going to pay hundreds for rude customer service. Sorry.

My Family and I have been purchasing cakes since November 2016. We fell in love with these cakes, there was no other bakery that could have touched these. Then as the years have gone by, there have been some issues with our cakes, egg shells in the cakes, burned specialty cakes, and the overall kicker "THE STOCK MARKET PRICES". I can understand you have a craft and you are to charge for your craft but not the ridiculous prices. I don't know if she's making up for the time the bakery was closed but "DAMN" these prices are straight up crazy. We had several specialty cakes made last year and they were all over priced. Then to top it off the one counter lady always nice not sure of her nationality, but the OWNER wow where is her Customer service skills at, very rude. Last time I was in the store I went to purchase just a few slices and as I waited in line she skipped me and went straight to the lady that just came in cause someone she knows. And then tells me with a tone, he will take care of you "her father". I haven't been back since. Very disappointed since I raved about these cakes to my family and friends.

Went here to order a cake for my husband brithday and i must say this shop went above and beyond the customer service was spot on and the cake was amazing it was so moist and delicious , if you are looking for a bakery that has the best bake goods than come here you will not be disappointed.

Went to this store recently to inquire about a cake for my child's birthday. When I walked in I was greeted by 2 staff members who were very nice. I showed the woman what cake I wanted. She took a picture of the cake and texted the image to their cake decorator and told me to wait to see if she responds. In the meantime, I asked if I could sample some cake but I was not able to. I was told samples are only for wedding cakes. However, she told me if I purchased a cupcake, that would be the same as how their cake tastes. Well... the cupcake was very dry and did not have a taste. I was very disappointed. It was not good at all. It actually tasted stale like it had been sitting out for days. So finally the woman told me the cake would cost $200. Way too expensive. I went to another bakery in and they were able to design the same cake for $70. I was shocked with the price that I was quoted for a small 8 inch cake. What I can say is that the bakery was very clean and the staff were friendly. But other than that I was not happy with the cupcakes or prices.

I stopped in today + got 1/2 a dozen cupcakes as a small & tasty holiday gift. Lemon, strawberry, coconut and chocolate were just some of the incredible flavors. The owner helped me and she was great. She was nice enough to put a ribbon on my gift! I highly recommend this bakery for newbies like myself:)
