"Long Beach’s newest dining destination, 4 Shore, is a return home for owner and first-time restaurateur Joshua Sanchez, who was raised nearby. The restaurant opens on Friday, May 10, with chefs Ben Davenport (formerly of Michael’s on Naples and Layla) and Jared Ventura (formerly of Chianina and Michael’s on Naples) preparing a French-inflected Italian menu. The dinner menu features starters like burrata with cherry tomatoes and risotto with poached shrimp and shiitake mushrooms. Main dishes include lamb saddle with ‘nduja jus, seabass with beurre rouge, and a beef strip loin. For dessert, olive oil cake, chocolate torte, and caramelized pineapple custard. To pair with the food, beverage director Walker Marsh developed a slate of cocktails, including the Heatwave with tequila, lime, aji amarillo, passion fruit, and bergamot liqueur, and the Kyoto Kiss made with gin, strawberry, ginger, lemon, and sparkling sake. 4 Shore will also offer riffs on classic drinks including an espresso martini with black sesame and a fig Old Fashioned. At the bar, small bites will be available including beef carpaccio, beef bavette, oysters, and beignets. The design of the space reflects Sanchez’s original vision of a speakeasy, with dim lighting and jewel-toned velvet seating. The bar is the centerpiece and boasts reflective tile along its front and blush pink velvet stools." - Rebecca Roland

Great new spot in Long Beach. The ambience is beautiful. Food was delicious and the presentation was excellent. We tried couple of the cocktails and asked the Walter, the mixologist to create some mocktail for us and they were all so good. If you are in the area ,stop by. You won't be disappointed. Will definitely come back !

Google
Every detail of my experience was perfect! Valet parking is always a plus that sets the mood for the evening. Entering the restaurant and being warmly greeted relaxed us immediately. From the cocktails to the three course dinner, everything was perfect. The Kyoto Kiss was as refreshing as it was tasty, much needed as a warm day. The food was spectacular! I will be returning soon!

Food, drinks, dessert were absolutely delicious. I had salmon, heat wave drink and chocolate desert 10/10! Also tried the old fashioned drink, it was so tasty. The staff were all so kind and welcoming. The ambiance was perfect. Can’t wait to visit again

Google
Absolutely beautiful restaurant with incredible food and service to match. The Hamachi crudo was incredible. The bursts and tomatoes was so good, the bread that came with it was next level. We had a branzino and filet and both were delicious! Can’t wait to visit again!

As locals we were looking forward to having another great restaurant to go to. Came here on a Saturday night at 7pm. By the time our party of 4 sat down they were already out of 3 selections from a limited menu. Specialty cocktails were OK but nothing special. Charged us $1 for an ice cube for a drink that was ordered on the rocks. Food was bland, portions small, and they forgot to put in one of our entrees. Service was unprofessional even though our server tried her best. No bread, no wine bottle list and wine selections were limited to varietals rather than disclosing the vineyard. The absolute worst part was the overall loudness of the music which made having a conversation at our table almost impossible. The interior is well done and stylish but for now 4Shore seems to be all flash and little substance worth spending $$$. Special bizarre mention to what appeared to be a well dressed bouncer who stood around inside and stared at everyone (why?). The night was a big disappointment for a neighborhood that has so many new and great dining choices.

Google
If I could give this place a negative, I would do -10. Gross. The food was over salted to the point that it was not edible. The server never even checked on us the entire time besides when we had to ask her for our tab. We had a birthday in our party and no one even said a simple happy birthday even though they knew. If you're gonna charge $18 for a side of fries you better have the decency to at least stop by to check to see if they're soggy and over salted which they were. I would go literally any other place in long beach besides here. Absolutely terrible.

Google
The service was the best I’ve had in a very long time. Was so impressive how attentive they were and really made our anniversary special. The music felt out of place as they were playing 90s hip hop. Didn’t match the atmosphere or the cuisine.

Google
I really wanted to like this place since I live locally. Unfortunately, there's not much to like. This place wants to sell itself as a fine dining establishment, and it is far from it. The food was just average. We ordered Scallops and the Hamachi Crudo. The Crudo lacked any flavor while the scallops were just average. For the main entrèe we order the seabass and beef strip loin. The seabass was fishy and lacked any other flavor. The beef strip loin was overcooked since I ordered medium rare, and it came medium/well. It was sliced already, so I don't know how the chef doesn't see that it's overcooked. It also lacked in flavor. The servers were friendly but clearly lacked training in any level of what would be considered fine dining services. Have you ever had your utensils from the starters/appetizers picked up from your plate and placed directly back on the table and not replaced with fresh utensils? Or when you order a steak and no steak knife is brought to the table and you're left with a dirty butter knife to cut your steak with. Is your water glass empty? Pour your own water. Management/Owners---Please take your wait staff to an Eddie V's or to 555 East so they can see what fine dining service is supposed to be like. You charge what they do so the quality of your food and the level of your service should match theirs. You're nowhere near it.

Yelp
A relatively new addition to Naples, and a good one! Price point is not a bargain but not out of line for location. The scene is lively with a swanky and slightly sultry ambience- the bar scene definitely picks up, in every sense, on the weekend nights. Service by Stephanie was fantastic, and all staff we met were very friendly. Food- winners were the burrata (plums were a delightful addition), pappardelle with mushrooms and our 2 desserts were A++ Olive oil cake and chocolate torte. My friend also enjoyed her branzino. Although the hamachi crudo was recommended, we did not like the taste of the fish or sauce; however it was very classy that our feedback was graciously accepted at no charge. Great cocktail list- espresso martini was one of the best I've had. Small parking lot next to the property. Definitely worth a visit for that special occasion

Yelp
Enjoyed our dinner date night here. Easy self parking in the lot reserved only for 4Shore. Complementary champagne glass welcome. Great service. The food was creative and tasty. Not everything was 10/10 with the food, but everything was good and there were a couple of genuine slam dunks. Starters: - Crudo - fresh fish, beautifully plated, but needed acid to hit the next level. The menu listed "pomegranate, shiso" with the crudo. Turns out these ingredients were used for their vibrant colors in the liquid base. Beautiful plating, but didn't get much pomegrantate or shiso flavor out of it. Really close to a superstar dish. - Scallops - the two scallops were perfectly cooked, just wish there was 1-2 more of them. Cauliflower was good on its own but didn't really make sense with the Scallops. Still creative and yummy. Cauliflower helped bulk the plate out a little. Entrees: - Corn agnolotti - really delicious. Sweet and savory. Decadent! - Risotto - best I've ever had (we have tried many times and always been underwhelmed). Texture was spot on. Real depth of flavor when you had the shrimp and shiitake's in one bite. Would recommend they add a touch more shrimp (cut up pieces) and shittake to ensure this carries into every bite. - Branzino filet - well prepped (no bones), well cooked, well seasoned, classic flavors. Delicious. Dessert: - Olive oil cake - absolute home run dish. Creative, beautiful, absolutely unique and delicious. Really a wow plate. Drinks: - Heatwave - loved it. Not too sweet, great flavor. Perfectly balanced and WAY too easy to drink. - Kyoto Kiss - another great cocktail. Not too sweet, well presented. Overall really liked the place. Ambiance beautiful. Attention to detail in the tableware, decor, lighting, servers uniforms etc. Food isn't quite Michelin-star fine-dining in terms of execution (YET, but it's close) but most importantly: it was delicious! Pricing reasonable too. Great date night and addition to the local culinary scene. Recommended! Will be back.

Yelp
This restaurant harkens back to an old hollywood feel! Cocktails were amazing! And the food is a fusion of fine dining French and Italian cuisine ! I loved the chocolate dessert and raspberry one! My favorite dishes were shrimp risotto, hamachi Crudo, lasagna, and the scallops! Very intimate feel and ambiance! Great date night location! Can't wait to go back! Long Beach needed an upscale restaurant

Margaret T.

Yelp
4Shore aka Joshua Sanchez owes tips, checks, paystubs, and respect to their staff. Closed without telling the reservations ahead of time, so no respect for the community either. MAKE IT RIGHT.

Yelp
5 stars 4shore! Came in here on a Friday night and the vibes were immaculate. The ambiance was awesome and felt very high end. It's dim lit with a great music selection, romantic, and is perfect for a date night or catching up with friends. The wine was selection was EXCELLENT, we tasted two and couldn't decide so we got both. We loved the LB Uvas Sauvignon Blanc and the Vermantino. Will definitely try the handcrafted cocktails next time but if you want some great wine, this is the spot. For food we ordered the sea bass which was AMAZING; so flavorful and fresh! We also got the truffle tagliatelle and risotto which were both delicious. I recommend ordering at least two plates per person and sharing them. And don't skip out on dessert! After dinner we went over to the bar to finish off the night and had a blast. Vibes, service, ambiance, food, drinks, all a 10/10. Really enjoyed this new spot and will be returning very soon!

Yelp
An incredible dining experience! From the music, to the service and of course the food. We tried pretty much everything on the menu and nothing disappointed. My favorites were the cherry tomato burrata and then the pastas. All of them. lol The staff were all so knowledgeable and sweet! I believe our servers name was John? I hope I'm remembering right. The greatest! If I lived closer I'd be a regular but I'll definitely be returning.

Kelli O.

Yelp
The location feels out of place for this establishment. It's small with a little parking lot directly across from local bars/restaurants that offer casual dining. The menu, in my opinion was a bit over priced based on the offering, especially when you can go to Marlenas or Nicos around the corner. The prices I knew would be higher because they won't post a menu on their site with prices, so I assume it can change based on market value daily for food and beverage. The staff were nice and helpful, but unfortunately that isn't enough to bring our group back again.

Brittney C.

Yelp
LOVED the inside - the decor and vibe is on point. It's a very sexy mid century modern lounge atmosphere. The drinks and food were fantastic! I am a long time server myself and don't leave a lot of reviews but felt it necessary from a fellow servers point of view. Loss in stars comes from the lacking service... but don't get me wrong our server was a doll, he was so sweet and attentive. He meant well but was not trained appropriately for this restaurant. He didn't know the menu and outwardly admitted he was still learning it so this is really at the management level - train your servers yall! This server had only tried ONE of the menu items. He didn't even know what steak tartare WAS, actually asked how we wanted it cooked. Again, not all his fault, he was great otherwise! This is a review in hopes that they will train future servers appropriately before setting them loose on the floor. This place could be awesome if they put some work into the staff. The steak tartare was delicious, husband had the risotto and loved it and i had the seasonal agnolotti (basically fancy ravioli) which was a different special than listed on the menu - which the server made known to me after i ordered, which was fine it ended up being AMAZING - just another training point to bring up. We also LOVED our cocktails - a tequila one and a gin one, both delicious. We'd come back again to try more. Wishing them luck!

Need another bottle of water? Better ask for it because they won't notice you're out. The wait staff seem friendly and genuinely want to do a good job but just don't or haven't had the proper training or experience. Like the bus boy that kept walking in circles around the restaurant as we ate. Management/Owners---Please take your wait staff to a Eddie V's or to 555 East so they can see what fine dining service is supposed to be like. You charge what they do so the quality of your food and the level of your service should match theirs. You're nowhere near it. And please turn down the music a little so 2 people can have a conversation and hear each other without having to raise their voices.

Yelp
Beautiful ambience, -romantic, a lil dark, great old fashioned no bread or crackers offered :/ and that's ok- but where's the rest of my dinner? Was still hungry and went for pizza afterward :( Good thing it was a date$$$ Nice but not likely return- Naples rib co is more filling :/

Paula S.

Yelp
Good news, bad news Good news The service problems of the few opening weeks seem to be corrected. All our choices were tasty (salmon tartare, corn agnolotti, sea bass and salmon entrees) Bad news The entree portion sizes were VERY small, especially given the prices and the fact that the "accompaniments", such as they were, were almost microscopic. The corkage charge of $45 was extortionate, especially given the tiny, uninspired wine list. I could ALMOST Forgive the above BUT the music was discordant and very loud. THEN, it got even louder. We asked that the music be turned down. Instead, the music got even louder. We asked again that the music be turned down. The hostess returned and told us "the owner likes it that way"! Well, the owner isn't the one paying to eat here. Until that attitude changes, he and the restaurant can just get stuffed!

Kate M.

Yelp
From the moment we walked in, amazing. Initially, greeted with complimentary champagne. Our server was Stephanie- can't say enough about her and the entire staff, as we met another server named Sean who was so inviting. The chef came out to talk about what we ordered. We had the lobster roll for an app. We shared the rib eye . This place is in a slept on area- we will be back. I've not felt so taken care of.

Olivia C.

Yelp
Super cute aesthetic. Drinks were amazing, ordered the espresso martini and Chamoshore. And the beef striploin was cooked perfectly!

Max D.

Yelp
Absolutely beautiful restaurant with incredible food and service to match. The Hamachi crudo was incredible. The bursts and tomatoes was so good, the bread that came with it was next level. We had a branzino and filet and both were delicious! Can't wait to visit again!

John M.

Yelp
Went on a July 5th Friday. Seated quickly. Ordered the scallops and risotto. Wonderfully cooked. Scallops were especially tasty. Had lamb and sea bass next. The sea bass was light and fresh with crispy skin. A great place for dinner.

Emma C.

Yelp
Stephanie is AMAZING!!! Truly one of the best servers I've ever had. She went above and beyond for my best friend's birthday dinner last week. Her customer service was 11/10. She made us feel so welcomed and special. Food and drinks were really bomb too but this review is specifically to shoutout Stephanie :)

Winifred C.

Yelp
Not really fine dining. Food was OK but the only fish on the menu was Branzino. Not really a great menu. But NO COFFEE!! Huh??? Get a Keurig at least if you don't want to buy a coffee/espresso machine. I'll stick with Spaghettini's

Rebecca L.

Yelp
Beautiful ambiance. Great service BUT the portions are ridiculously small. We had to go next door to KC Brannigans to eat AGAIN after our expensive dinner. It was laughable. It's a nice place to go for a ($20) drink but don't waste your money on dinner. I will not be returning. Go to Nicks or Nico's instead. You won't be disappointed.

Willyum J.

Yelp
Tonight I met my coworkers and friends for a drink after work. I had a delicious espresso martini. I really enjoyed the beautiful space, cool vibe and nice crowd. I recommend checking it out.

Elena S.

Yelp
Went to 4shore for the first time. We had only Cocktails. Loved the Espresso Martini ,Different and interesting with cognac. The service was very good and friendly staff. Definitely will be back.

Jeff A.

Yelp
Junk, we had a reservation and they didn't even have the courtesy to contact us and let us know they were closed. Nico's a few doors down accommodated us and provided a great experience.

Claudia S.

Yelp
New restaurant w/ a sexy upscale ambiance, we received champagne at arrival. Outstanding customer service, & fabulous cocktails! Most definitely recommend this place, try it B4 it becomes so trendy u can't even get in...

Sean H.

Yelp
Very small portions. We literally had to order added main meals along with an appetizer for each person. $40 corkage is on high end especially since their selection is pretty limited. The menu is pretty limited too and at that they were not able to serve 4 of the items on the menu (we were first table for the night).

Erin G.

Yelp
The food was amazing! Get the lasagna. So good! The service was fantastic! The music was waaaay too loud. They could benefit from more acoustic panels to absorb all the noise bouncing around. Oh and, cocktails are a must. Try them all!!

Kimberly ..

Yelp
Such a great addition to Long Beach! We needed a high end restaurant with good vibes like this. Food is delicious, service is great but the ambiance is really what I come here for... it gives me the LA vibes I yearn for but without the hour drive to WeHo. Definitely recommend :)

Naomi N.

Yelp
Amazing service and amazing food! The ambiance is dim lighting and felt very high end. I have eaten here a few times and have tasted a lot of the menu, I love the salmon and the grape and tomato salad! The steak is great too, I highly recommend trying 4 shore out, they have live music some nights too if that's your thing

Johnny W.

Yelp
Wow 4 Shore is a show piece! What an incredible food and bar program. The restaurant/ bar layout is fun plus welcoming amidst a comfortable ambiance and decor. Stellar bar seating with a wonderful array of unique wines, cool / top notch spirits and truly something for everyone. The entire team is kind, passionate and extremely knowledgeable. It's an overall pleasant service and liveliness. The food menu has all the comforts you'd want and more, form Chef Ben. This is an elevated kitchen and culinary experience. I enjoyed the bechamel lasagna and it was delicious. Really a dialed array of food options. Please come support this one of a kind spot. Cheers!

Mealii S.

Yelp
I was hesitant to go here due to Naples island rumors of a $140 steak. It's not the case. The dining area was dark but it was pleasant. The menu is priced well and not as rumored! The stemware has a thin rim, well made and new. Is it elevated? Yes! Is the food delicious? Yes! Was it enough to eat? Yes! The albacore crudo was tender with a light flavor, the burrata was a surprise with grapes and tomatoes, the lasagna was filled with ricotta and a creamy tomato sauce, the shrimp risotto was tender with a lemon zest! We sat at the bar and had good conversation with the bartenders. For day 12 after their opening I was pleased the food was so delicious! We will be back! Went home full and look forward to dessert next time!

Lori Ann F.

Yelp
Ambience was great. Chill yet sophisticated vibe. Stephanie, our server, was amazing. Chef Ben came to meet us and was very personable. We loved the chicken presse, simply delicious. Chocolate torte delectable. Buratta was great. Loved the Heatwabe drink. We will be back!

Cameron E.

Yelp
Just meh. While I understand they just opened, service was slow and the food just wasn't to the quality I expected. Drinks are overpriced as well and they recommend everything be "shared" while portions are tiny. Much better places to visit in Long Beach for half the cost.

Kerri P.

Yelp
The hostess was very sweet and helpful, ambiance was nice, the bar service was extremely slow (over 20min for one of their signature cocktails, 15min for basic martini) Our server was nice and informative, though she may have been the only server working... Our party was really looking forward to the food but it was mediocre at best. The appetizers, yellow tail and burrata was hardly enough to share with our party of five. The yellow tail was worrisome because it was not chilled but closer to room temp. The main courses were very small portions. Two in our party order the branzino, which was lukewarm and flavorless. My order of scallops was a total of two on the plate. The best part of my meal was the salad. When we asked about coffee or espresso to have with dessert, we were told that neither was offered, in fact no hot beverages are offered on their menu. Overall, quite disappointed, won't return.

Nikki C.

Yelp
The sign outside looks like a total dive bar sign... looks cheap and uninviting. Surprisingly the inside is very nice. Saw a guy with shorts and a ball cap dining and didn't fit the mood of the restaurant at all. Totally killed the ambiance. The food is mediocre. The lamb was supposed to be medium rare and it looked as if it was still bleeding. We originally asked for it to be cooked medium and were told no so that the dish was not jeopardized. Well it sucked regardless. The service was also not worth the price we paid. The music was great although a bit too loud for dining. So needless to say although walking distance from our home, we won't be going back.

Neha S.

Yelp
The place is beautifully done! The drinks (Espresso martini and Fig old Fashion) and service were great. Really loved the Risotto...ended up ordering it twice! We also had the Hamachi, scallops and salmon. The owner and staff were great. We heard the lasagna was amazing, which we will try next time!

Thomas M.

Yelp
Went in last weekend, the food and ambiance were amazing. We had the lamb and filet with a side of truffle fries. They all tasted great. The employees were attentive and knowledgeable. We will definitely be back!

Caitlin A.

Yelp
Just a heads up, apparently this place is closed now. We just showed up for our reservation to a locked door. We knocked and the lady told us they laid everyone off on Tuesday (3 days prior) and cancelled all reservations. We were emailing with them for our reservations and they failed to notify us, they only cancelled open table reservations. So don't go here.

Harvey S.

Yelp
Great service- drinks were very good - the interior was new, modern and beautiful! Food was very good - we will be back!

Brenda H.

Yelp
this place was amazing and unique im so happy to have it in long beach. a fun and sexy ambiance with a wonderful fine dining experience. the staff was so kind, attentive and informative. they started us off with a complimentary appetizer that was so flavorful. the cocktails were perfect and the food was absolutely delicious. will be bringing back many friends. wishing this place success.

Jaimie ..

Yelp
Came here on a Friday night with a reservation. Service was good but the first thing I noticed was it was too dark to see the menu or see my family who I was with. Drinks were decent and not bad. We ordered the salad, chicken tenders (which came out burnt and over cooked), the burger, risotto, and yellowtail. Honestly the only thing I enjoyed was the salad. The food was mediocre with not a lot of flavor. It was also over priced. I feel like we paid more for the ambiance than the quality of food. Maybe I'd try again next time, but I think they need more time to get it right.

Rick S.

Yelp
Visited restaurant great ambience, soothing and relaxing atmosphere. Great cuisine, flavors on point great service. Highly recommend. Drinks are great as well. This is a must see visit when in Long Beach, Ca

Kamile H.

Yelp
I tried out this new restaurant for dinner and drinks with a friend, and so happy we did! As soon as we walked in we were seated. The ambiance was really nice, nothing like any other spot in LB! We had quite a few glasses of wine, loved the salad, risotto, sea bass (my favorite), and chicken. And our server John was great.

Maddie P.

Yelp
One of the best dining experiences I've had in a while. Both the service, John was fantastic, and the food was excellent. My personal favorite was the lamb.

Michael H.

Yelp
New restaurant and bar with great ambience. Really did a nice job. Very warm and inviting, yet chic. Check out the new spot in Naples, Long Beach, then take a walk around the canals.

El J.

Yelp
The owner Josh made sure every detail from the ambiance, to the food and service left nothing on the table. The drinks are amazing and the wonderful servers make you feel as if you're the only table in the room. Thanks for making our time and money well worth it

Bill F.
