An Aussie-Born Italian Eatery Makes Its Stateside Debut in Dallas Next Week - Eater Dallas

"400 Gradi is ready to unleash its Neapolitan-style pies from down under upon downtown Dallas diners. The anticipated 5,000-square-foot Italian restaurant is scheduled to open for lunch and dinner service on Monday, September 16, at 2000 Ross Avenue. 400 Gradi has earned serious pizza cred under its Australian-born celebrity chef/founder Johnny Di Francesco, including top honors at the prestigious Campionato Mondiale Della Pizza competition in Italy. Along with an opening lineup of 15 authentic pies, the menu is filled out by Italian classics like risotto, fried calamari, and char-grilled steaks. Starters include zucchini flowers filled with salted cod, oysters, arancini, meatballs, and cured meats butchered on-site. The brand goes the extra mile to import Italy into its Dallas kitchen, flying in San Marzano tomatoes, mozzarella, olive oil, and gelato ingredients. There’s even specially formulated water from Artisan H2O that replicates the same liquid building pies in Naples. A temperature-controlled room with around 70-percent humidity is where all the pastas and dough ferment for 48 hours. Popular pasta orders include gnocchi di luigi with ricotta; tagliatelle alla bolognese; and spaghetti with cherry tomato, zucchini, crab meat, lobster bisque, and chile. Mains are filled out by branzino with braised fennel, leek, cherry tomato and fish velouté, as well as chicken breast slathered in spicy ‘nduja sauce." - Tierney Plumb

We went there and had the calamari appetizer and four different dishes. The calamari was best I have had in a very long time, and the presentation was awesome. Everything else did not match the calamari, but it was pretty good. It was not too busy, but our server was absent a good part of the time when we were in need. He did not stop by after the food was delivered to check if we needed anything, which we did. Concerning the atmosphere, it was warm and muggy, which was distracting to the meal.

Went for a dinner on Saturday. The place itself is nice but unfortunately the food was very basic. We had pizza and 2 pastas, none of it was anything good - you can get much more delicious food at other Italian places, within the same price or even cheaper. Definitely not coming back here. For what it’s worth, the server was nice, everyone were friendly.

Had an amazing experience at 400 Gradi. Our server was good at explaining the food item's which we wanted to order, the only thing he missed was that the appetizer had some prok in it and he didn’t ask us if we needed a replacement, instead he just removed the pork pieces from it so we couldn’t eat it. The food came out pretty quick and the ambiance was nice as well. We loved the pizza and pasta. They gave us a slice of cheesecake as we were celebrating my BIL’s birthdays. Would definitely go back again.

Decided to go as a final outing dinner for my dad before he started his chemo. Unfortunately we weren’t too wowed. Don’t get me wrong the ambience was so calming, nice, and classy. We started off with the Foccacia Volcano which was AMAZING with the paired sauce. We wanted to keep ordering more but then we wouldn’t be able to eat our dinner. We also got the meatballs and it was 9/10! For dinner, my family ordered the fish of the day which was the branzino with brussels sproats 10/10!! WOULD GET AGAIN!! My mom got the Tagliatelle Alla Pescatora and it was super salty. Not sure if it was because it’s seafood or something but my mom wasn’t able to finish it. My boyfriend got the Rigatoni Alla Vodka he would give his a 4/10 he said it was really salty too. My dad got the bolognese with the pappardelle pasta, he thought it was alright, the pasta was a little undercooked but it could be because it’s al dente. In the end we got some dessert, I got the tiramisu tart and it was good! 8/10 and we got some sorbet it tasted like any other 6/10 and the cannoli my brother really liked. Tagliatelle Alla Pescatora 3/10 Rigatoni Alla Vodka 4/10 Bolognese with Pappardelle Pasta 5/10 Bronzino with Bussel Sproats 10/10 Gnocchi Di Luigi 8/10 Overall, super cute date night place if you're probably just getting drinks and the appetizers are super good!! My aunt had been before and said the pizza was really good. Maybe we’ll go back and try it but maybe not the pasta. It could have just been the day we went that majority of our food was salty. Wish my dad had a better experience as it was his last outing with the family.

Nice calm place. Music is not loud, not much noise here. Staff is friendly. At 5 pm Saturday it was almost free, but in an hour started to be crowded. Pizza was fresh made in the oven. 1st - some forks and knives were not cleaned enough so we asked to change. 2nd pizza ingredients. It was smoked ham instead of proshutto and salami wasn’t fresh enough. In general we enjoyed this comfort chilling place.

Google
400 Gradi is phenomenal! I grabbed a to go order for a meeting today. The customer service from the call when I placed the order all the way to leaving the restaurant was excellent. As far as the food, I was blown away. I ordered the tagliatelle alla bolognese. I was not able to eat my food until much later. I took a bite and immediately closed my eyes to savor it. It was incredible. The depth of flavor, the texture of the pasta, the presentation....all beautiful. I am incredibly impressed and will return very soon to dine in and enjoy the full experience! *side note: try the lemon basil sorbetto at Zero Gradi next door. You won't be disappointed!

Google
This turned out to be a convenient place to grab a bite to eat after visiting the museum. We ordered pizzas caprichos and carnivora. Unfortunately, two unpleasant things spoiled the pleasant impression. First, we found dirty utensils in our wrapped napkins. It's good that we paid attention to this and did not immediately start eating. By the way, they immediately exchanged them for us. The second unpleasant thing was the content of the pizzas. The dough was excellent - thin, crispy. However, the filling was a little disappointing. The pizzas listed prosciutto in the ingredients, but unfortunately the chef used ham, good quality, but not prosciutto. The carnivora pizza included salami. Unfortunately, it was clearly old, with a characteristic aftertaste. I was able to take some of it out of the pizza. Overall, the place is calm. The interior is attractive, with soft, quiet music that allows for conversation. Plus, the caprichosa is quite tasty if you agree to ham instead of prosciutto.

We had an amazing dinner here! We came as a bachelorette party and not only was the food amazing, our server Giorgio made the whole experience PERFECT. He was so kind and so knowledgeable of items on the menu. I am so glad we met him! We will definitely be back for the food and to see Giorgio!

Yelp
My husband surprised me with a date night at this charming spot, and let me tell you, the dim lighting and soft ambiance made me feel like I was in a romantic movie. We kicked things off with bruschetta, followed by the insalata di gamberi con pesto, pappardelle ai funghi, and rigatoni, plus a couple of glasses of Cabernet to set the mood. Every dish was fantastic--except for the rigatoni, which was a bit of a letdown. The red sauce tasted like it had been sitting in traffic. But honestly, with everything else being so amazing, it hardly put a dent in the evening. Definitely a place I'd recommend for a special night out!

Yelp
The food was served promptly and ambiance was great. I think the food was great, I wish the pizza was cut into more slices, two cuts makes it so you're eating a 1/4 of the pizza at a time but maybe that's because of all the topping. The prosciutto was REALLY good! The pasta was great, cooked al dente. We got the meatballs which were also good. The "sailing through Sicily" gin drink was tasty without being overly sweet. We enjoy a good gin drink but maybe it's the glass and all the ice, I think you get more bang for your buck from the old fashioned. We didn't specify the whiskey so not sure what we got but it was good. One tip would be not to splurge on the sparkling water, it was fine but I guess I was expecting something you couldn't get from the grocery store maybe I misheard the waiter. One only issue we had was our drinks, there was some confusion when I changed to an old fashion, but then he brought two old fashions to make up for it (but by mistake). It's fine it was a busy section he was overall very nice and patient.

Yelp
Really enjoyed our food here. We got the calamari, burrata, lobster risotto and the mushroom pasta dish. The fried zucchini in the calamari was fantastic! We thought the calamari was a bit chewy. The burrata was good but pretty lemony or herby for a burrata dish. The lobster risotto was good but I would recommend sharing. It was VERy sharp with the cheese. The waiter gave us a recommendation on the wine and it was great! Try out Aviary. Overall, enjoyed it but would choose something different next time we are in town on business.

Yelp
I would've given this a better score, but it wasn't about the food, it was about the customer service regard. I made a reservation for (1) for 8:30pm and wanted a table. Upon showing up at the restaurant to dine they attempted to force me to sit at the bar considering I was dining alone. Upon stating that I had a reservation, that I would like a table, that I wanted to enjoy a nice dinner alone, and also that I was traveling for business alone, they still kept suggesting that I sit at that bar. I stated that I would prefer to have a table for comfort, and that sitting at the bar can become cramped. They still chose to push the idea on me sitting at the bar. To avoid further conflict and back & forth chatter, I told them I would just take a seat at the bar, as I was frustrated with the type of treatment that I was receiving and just wanted to enjoy a nice dinner. This is a nice classy place and I was looking forward to trying their food, however, the quality of service and regard was less than favorable for my first experience here. With me also working in the food industry, I understand utilizing tables for certain size parties, especially during extremely busy times, but if the customer follows protocol, has a reservation, and clearly tells you they want a table, then you should respect those wishes to give the customer the dining experience they deserve. Dining at the bar isn't always the best way to enjoy your food in a classy establishment. From everything to arm room, bar noise, sitting in a higher seat, and other things to factor in, dining at the bar is sometimes your last option at a classy establishment. After choosing to sit at the bar, the manager(or could've possibly been the owner/he had that demeanor about him) came over and attempted to then offer me a table and make small talk. This was thoroughly frustrating, as he could have extended the same effort once I voiced my preference. I could understand being asked to sit at the bar if I was trying to just walk in and dine on a busy evening with no reservation. I shouldn't have to show my dissatisfaction to be offered the seat that I initially booked and requested with my reservation in a charity type of way. The food was solid. The Caesar salad was delicious, and the bolognese pasta was a little undercooked, the Prosecco was chilled and flavorful, but overall the food was solid. Great vibe, my server was attentive, and it's a great date night space. They also have a great bar selection and TV's at the bar to enjoy a game or other programming. Honestly with them seeing and knowing that I was unhappy with the experience from the gate, they could've offered and appetizer or something else in consideration to shine a better light on my first experience here, but that wasn't the case. I only want the basic regard that a customer deserves, and I want to have the best experience possible when choosing a new restaurant to enjoy. Sometimes listen to the customers needs versus trying to make things easy for yourself, especially when you have a variety of table options available to accommodate the customers request. Overall they seem like nice people, and of course the space was nice, but I would give them another shot at some point, but this wasn't the initial experience I was looking for.

Yelp
TL;DR: fantastic pizza, pasta, drinks, and service. Get the pappardelle ai funghi! Came by for a Friday date night. They validate garage parking, which is always nice! Ambience: clean, dark, and sophisticated. I initially felt underdressed wearing sneakers, but it turned out to be fine. Service: Maria was extremely friendly and gave the best recommendations (which I'll get to). Thank you, Maria! Drinks: we had the Italian paloma and Italian margarita. Paloma was overall more balanced, so would stick with that next time. Both drinks were STRONG, in a very good way. Food: we ordered the following, as per recommendations: -meatball starter (polpette al sugo): very solid, but might try a different starter next time like calamari. -pappardelle ai funghi pasta: AMAZING, must get IMO. Creamy, savory, and not too truffly. -vulcano pizza: also amazing flavors and probably the best Neapolitan pizza I've had in Dallas, but I could be convinced to get their award winning margherita instead... maybe. -cannoli trio: all great, but especially loved the pistachio and lemon. -Ferrero Rocher gelato: also great, but might skip next time. Price: pretty reasonable for Italian in Dallas, and even more so considering the quality of food/drinks/service. Honestly, the food was on par with what I've eaten in Italy - I'll definitely come back for the pasta and to try other things on the menu! Until then, I'll dream about that pappardelle ai funghi...

Yelp
Great service, wonderful food, warm atmosphere. Went on weekday and weekend, both experiences were worthy of writing a review! Wait staff were attentive and made great suggestions from the menu. Manager stopped by table - very engaging, thank you Johnny and the entire 400 Gradi team!

Yelp
A nice spot downtown for date night! From first walking in, I was struck by the interior, and it creates the perfect ambiance for date night. Unfortunately the last time we went, the menu was undergoing a transition and didn't have almost anything that we ordered. With multiple options no longer being served, they may want to update the menu or at least let the server know, as we frequently were told throughout the night that our dishes would not be coming out, as the chefs stopped making them. Made it a little difficult to order enough food, or to even know what we would be served! Drinks were fine, a little on the sweet side. On the food: Salumi board: 5/5 such a fun variety of cured meats with fresh mozzarella, and I just wish we had more! Calamari: 5/5 lightly fried and was perfectly paired with the aioli and lemon pepper NY Strip: 3/5 not bad, ordered medium rare but came back closer to medium well. Broccolini was cooked too soft and didn't really have a bite to it. Didn't really seem like a restaurant-quality dish Pesce del giorno (market fish): 2/5 very average, didn't taste particularly fresh or a well-balanced dish. Would not recommend. Margherita pizza: 4/5 tasted wood-fired, and it seems like pizza is the star of the show here! Still, felt like the sauce could be more flavorful. Hoping to see their updated menu, but until then, not sure this would be worth a visit.

Yelp
I was so looking forward to this restaurant and we were all so disappointed. The wine glasses on our table were greasy! I didn't have any lotion or anything on my hands that could have made them like that. You could see the streaks across the glass. Everything we had, except the calamari, lacked flavor. The pasta barely had any hints of truffle and was more oily than creamy. The fish was not seasoned at all and needed the help of the chimichurri sauce. The pizza was probably the worst dish we ordered. It was like eating cheese on soggy bread. I'm all about a think crust pizza but it has to hold up to the toppings. This pizza dough was soggy and falling apart. The shaved parmesan was hard and tasted like it had been left open in the fridge somewhere (I would know because I forget to properly seal my own cheese at home often...lol). On top of that, there were two large parties our server was already handling so we didn't get much of his attention. I don't blame him at all because each party was 10-20 people deep if not more. We kind of fell through the cracks and other people tried their best to get us what we needed. I have no idea how it works in restaurants but it can be beneficial to have someone else help a smaller party when the server covering that particular area is already inundated with larger parties which require a lot more attention. Our experience was thrown off even more because the large party was so extremely loud and obnoxious because they were all tipsy, from what I could tell. We could barely hear ourselves talk.

Yelp
This restaurant is located a few steps from the JW Marriott on Harwood. We did not have a reservation but it was not a problem and we were seated promptly. The ambiance is upscale and modern. It was a pleasant setting for a meal. The wife and I started with the Italian margarita ($15). They were excellent, even dangerous. I had two. We started with the Caesar salad. We ordered one salad to split but the waitress changed that to two half salads which she said was a bit cheaper. That was fine. The salads, however, had no flavor whatsoever. No garlic, no anchovy, no anything. Zero flavor. That was odd. I have had bad Caesar dressing before, but never one that had zero flavor. The kid had spaghetti with red sauce and loved it, so much that she had a second bowl which almost never happens. The wife had pasta with mushrooms and loved it. The pasta is fresh and the sauce had a deep, robust flavor. It was excellent. I had the Bolognese and it too was excellent. The red sauce had a deep, rich flavor. The pasta was fresh. The red sauce was a bit sweet and not at all acidic. I could not stop eating it, even after I was full. We split a piece of cheesecake for dessert and it was not good. It had a weird texture and did not really taste like cheesecake at all. Neither one of us liked it. Our server Heather was super friendly and helpful. She was energetic and really seemed to like her job. So, the salad and cheesecake were not good, but the pasta dishes were 5 star each. I more or less averaged everything out to come to 4 stars.

Yelp
The service was amazing. Our waitress was so kind, thoughtful and quick! The ambiance is romantic. Perfect date night spot. Dim lighting, wonderful decor and intimate setting. The food was AMAZING. Everyone loved their plates. I had the Burrata and may be the best I ever had. Husband had the meat lovers pizza and ate the ENTIRE thing. The espresso martinis were definitely the star of the show when it came to drinks. I will 100% be back

Yelp
My waiter was amazing, he explained everything down to the water we ordered. Since he was Italian is taught us Italian words, phrases, and pronunciations. The food was also very good. The lobster risotto was buttery and flavorful. The pizza is great and even good leftover!

Yelp
Absolutely loved this place. I specifically want to mention Maria. She is the best hostess/planner. I reached out to her to plan my first work event. It was a last-minute decision, and she cane through and how! I explained her my needs, and she suggested great ideas, including food, sitting arrangements, and drinks. My team loved the who mixer event, and she helped me shine. We all loved the food, and their appetizer and pizzas were scrumptious. The whole ambiance was very modern and comfortable. This restaurant has an amazing happy hour menu and is very reasonable. I can not wait to go back and try out more food and drinks.

Yelp
Why 5 stars? Because this was our favorite meal of our short trip. --- --- --- We took our son to a kid's concert down the street at Wyly Theatre, and my wife found this spot was only a few blocks away, so this was our post-show lunch. We absolutely loved it. From the moment we walked in, it was a great experience. Our son was having a bit of a temper tantrum on the way over, but the guy who greeted us was having fun and interacting with him, which helped calm him down. Later, another person walking by us did something similar, which really helped put him at ease. But the food was just bad ass. That's the only way to describe it. We started off with some Burrata, which came with tomatoes and bread. I'm not really a tomato lover, but the bread had this amazing, light charring that was perfect. For our main entrees, we ordered the Pappardelle pasta and the Carnivora Pizza. Chef's kiss to both. The flavor of the pappardelle was rich, but not too rich. It was almost like truffle-lite. And the pizza was super thin -- the kind you just fold in half to eat, like you get in Italy. We also ordered a pepperoni pizza for our son and it was just as great. Kudos to 400 Gradi for being awesome. If we didn't love so far away, this would be a regular visit for us.

Yelp
These days, it is very rare to find perfection in service and food but 400 Gradi has done just that!! Was staying at the JW Marriott next door and this place popped up as nearby. We found a gem! Everyone from the front of house, servers and bartender were impressive. And the prices were very reasonable for the high quality of food. We started with crab cakes and calamari. Both were fantastic. I had to order their award winning PAPPARDELLE AI FUNGHI. There was a special tonight where you could add a salmon filet for only $8!! One of the best pastas I've had! And to top off the meal, their Ferrero Rocher gelato was fantastic! We enjoyed it so much, we came back the next night for a night cap and gelato. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Ate here for NYE and Michael was our server, he was so nice and helpful. Everything we ordered was amazing. Started with calamari and focaccia then we shared the Vulcano pizza, lasagna and gnocchi. The pizza is 10/10. Had a kick of spice with the hot honey but I couldn't put it down. Gnocchi was so fresh and the right amount of sauce. Great for date night or girls night out, will definitely be back!

Yelp
My husband and I hadn't gone in a date for a while due to our busy schedules and he surprised me 400 Gradi. We had a good time overall however our server, although charismatic, said some things that made me feel uncomfortable. He told us to slow down when ordering and was strict on taking the appetizers first then coming back for the main entree. And then later it got hard to flag him down to ask more questions on to e menu or order more things. Also, even though the entire is super nice, people were dressed casually but at times he might not have intended but he made us feel bad for not wanting to buy a 90$ bottle of wine. He told all about the bottle and when my husband said just a glass he didn't explain anything about it. We still tipped well but I wouldn't want anyone else to have a bad experience because of this interaction. Apart from that the vibes were immaculate. So so gorgeous and fancy inside. The drinks were ok- I first got an aperol spritz but I wanted it sweet and it wasn't at all and nothing I added made it better so I went to the bartender who I felt awkward around at first but later I found she was sweet and gave me a new sweet drink- blueberry mojito which was the bomb 10/10. Our food was heavenly. The mushroom pasta is a must- very heavy and kind of salty but that umami flavor was soooo delectable. The gnocchi pasta was so soft and the texture was very unique and airy. Loved it. Both dishes I would say 9.5/10 almost 10/10. The manager I think, was super super kind. He took pictures of my husband and I and made us feel good as we left and said goodbye.

Yelp
We were going to an event at the DMA, and I wanted to check out what restaurants were in the area within walking distance that we have not tried yet. We decided to try 400 Gradi. On the restaurant's website, they say they have an award-winning pizza Margherita. I just had to try it. I will say that pizza was a slice of heaven. The crust was perfectly thin and tender. The flavors were spot on. I can see why they've won awards. The linguine Bolognese my SO ordered was fantastic. The pasta was cooked to a perfect al dente, and the Bolognese sauce was spot on. The portion size was generous, and he had a hard time finishing it. The total bill for our dinner was very reasonable. In fact, for what we had, we were expecting a much higher bill. I have no doubt that we will be returning. The dilemma will be to try their other items or get another pizza Margherita.

Yelp
One of my favorite restaurants now! We tried two different type of pastas and they were both delicious! Look at the pictures to see for yourself, delicious I tell you! The pizza was the carnivara and it was one of the best pizzas I had. Perfection! The expresso martini was good and the Nikoleta was more on the sweet side but one of my favorites. We made reservations and were seated inside, they also have seating area outside. Service was 10/10 food 10/10. The only thing I didn't really like was the dessert Tiramisu Tart, they used to make it different before vs how they do now (the base to this dessert was very hard) I wouldn't order it again and our server was nice and didn't charge us for it. We came for my birthday and would definitely be coming back.

Yelp
The reviews, location and and ambience of the restaurant were fantastic. The food, service and personal experience were harshly shy of mediocre. Our reservation was for 2:30 and we sat outside completely unacknowledged for the first 15 minutes. No water no greeting until my friend went inside to let the servers know we are ready. Management certainly stayed on top of sevice to make up for the bumpy start. I commend them. We started with the burrata. It was very pretty and almost tasteless. We requested some olive oil and management was a little taken back. They informed us the reason they don't offer olive oil, salt, and pepper is because they prefer to be an authentic Italian restaurant. Unfortunately, when comparing Italy to America, our ingredients are not as refined over here in the states. we are in the middle of Dallas, Texas my love, give me some damn salt and pepper. The food is tasteless. Our second course was the diavola and Artisan salad. The artisan salad has an anchovy dressing. It tasted like a Cobb salad with the wrong dressing. I was expecting something a little bit fresher. Unfortunately, the vegetables in general, for this meal were a complete flop, including the tomatoes from the burrata. Our final course was the Bolognese and the claimed house, favorite Pappardelle ai funghi. The truffle mushroom pasta was just shy of mediocre. Bland, thick and creamy, which is usually a bonus. However, it's all it had going for itself. The Bolognese pasta was entirely over cooked. It had an essence of Chef Boyardee. The best part of the meal was the Nikoleta cocktail. It was absolutely delicious and refreshing. Kind of like an adult pink lemonade with a hint of basil. The basil in the cocktail was the freshest vegetable on the table. The espresso martini was decent. The flavor of espresso was there, however, it was certainly missing the martini part of the cocktail. However, the Pisco sour made up a little too much for the espresso martini. The liquor was very heavy, handed, and way too much bitters. Hence why we ended up with the Nikoleta in the first place. Based off of everything listed above, I would like to be fair to this Dallas favorite, they seem to do very well during the dinner hours. I would wrap up this review by saying completely skip this restaurant for lunch. To finish our meal, we stopped at zero Gradi for dessert, nothing terribly impressive. A scoop of vanilla, literally, and figuratively. The service was fantastic though. You are not going to have the same experience at lunch as you are with dinner. There is no way in one of the food capitals of the United States that this place has a 4 1/2 star rating for the meal that we received. I am convinced dinner is far better! Perhaps another time I will attempt dinner here, but for now I will be moving on to another restaurant.

Yelp
This restaurant is right around the corner from my hotel so I decided to check it out. The food was so delicious! I got both of their recommended items, the mushroom pasta and the margherita pizza. The service was great, the manager checked in a few times throughout the night. The ambiance was nice but not overly formal! If you are in the area, I definitely would recommend.

Yelp
First impressions, the place was amazing and boujee with a wall decored with fine wine. We were seated fast and our server was very kind and interactive with us, which i was very much pleased with! We began with Fritto Misto, and the sauce was so delicious. The main meal I had the, Pappardelle Ai Funghi, is the creme de la creme of all the pasta dished in my humble opinion. The truffle cream very much complimented the mushrooms and the pasta was cooked so well that I cleaned that plate right up! I also just want to say that the service of the overall staff is so bright and welcoming and if im back in Dallas, I'm definitely going to come back here!

Yelp
The pasta here is AMAZING!!! Came here for the first time for my friends birthday and I know why he wanted it there. I had the gnocchi and although it was good I had regrets because the Pappardelle Ai Funghi (which is what they're known for) was SOOOOO GOOD! I know for sure I have to come back and get this. If you come here, especially first timers, don't look any further! Just order the Pappardelle Ai Funghi! Promise you won't regret it!

Yelp
Absolutely wonderful experience here at 400 Grandi! Management and service was impeccable! Our servers name was Sarah, highly recommend requesting her! All of the food was 10/10!! The focaccia bread appetizer was melt in your mouth! For the bolognese, I would recommend adding pepper flakes and fresh mozzarella for extra pizzazz!! The fish of the day was halibut - cooked to perfection, crispy outer with soft flakey inside, wonder pairing with the tomato base. 10/10!!

Yelp
Took my mother here for a birthday lunch and we really enjoyed our food and service was very friendly and personable.

Yelp
Good service and fun foods! The pizza is good (not great), but there is a fairly well-stocked bar to compensate. House drinks were tasty, and the decor & atmosphere are on-point! Reservations recommended for peak hours. Valet park at curb in front.

Yelp
I wanted to like this place more, it has awesome potential. The ambiance is great and their patio has fun fire features that make it perfect for a date night or post-work drinks. Our party of 3 was seated quickly and the menu looks decent - they have huge wood-fired pizza ovens in their open-style kitchen and next time I visit, I'd try one. We wanted bruschetta, but the waiter recommended the burrata instead, so we got it. The bread is obviously made in-house and the burrata was yummy. However, burrata is by nature very plain and mild. There was no salt and pepper, no olive oil, etc to make the dish more palatable. It was literally warm bread with large chunks of tomatoes and burrata cheese. I was hoping for some basil, there wasn't any. I asked for balsamic vinegar and the waiter looked confused; it never showed up. My mom and I split the Pappardelle Ai Funghi, which was very nicely presented. The mushrooms were delicious, and the pasta tasted homemade. But again - a general lack of seasoning. It needed salt and pepper. And the noodles, which COULD have been really great, seemed slightly gummy. Our friend ordered the snapper, and that was by FAR the best taste of the evening. It came with a relish that really brightened things up. It also came with a side salad. It was literally a large pile of arugula with a few sad slices of raw cabbage thrown in. No dressing! Nothing. It was so odd. I like arugula but a pile of it with nothing to dress it is not very good. It's too bitter and peppery on its own. Overall, I think the food could be really great if they would just tweak the final touches of presentation and use common sense. A sprinkling of salt and pepper, maybe a dash of fresh Parmesan cheese goes a long way. Dress your salad greens, nobody wants to eat a pile of lettuce. Pump up the flavors; it was bland. I'll go back to try a pizza next time. I really enjoyed the atmosphere!

Yelp
Great handmade pasta (make sure to try mushroom papardelle!), good vibe and quality service. Will be back next time I am in Dallas!

Yelp
One of the worst restaurants in the DFW area. Service is terrible. The menus are boring, the ambiance is very pathetic and the ownership is clueless. Don't show up there on a Saturday evening asking for a steak. They may have it on a menu but not in the kitchen and then they will push you to eat Pork Chops. I gave this place an F, actually F squared. They have opened another in McKinney TX of all the places yeah McKinney TX. Pathetic ownership. Get your act together first and learn how to ma Gnocchi the right way. If you hate restaurants serving FROZEN food then don't bother going here.

Yelp
Made reservations for an early Saturday evening. Amazing service! Waitress was clear about which dishes were sold out after we were seated so we could decide what to order. Food came out super fast.

Yelp
The pasta here is SO good. Also the ambiance and the service! We strolled in at 8:30pm on a Tuesday and were promptly helped and not made to feel like we were jerks (even tho we felt like it). The restaurant is really beautiful inside and they have awesome outdoor seating. Definitely go if you're downtown!

AKay Y.

Yelp
Sergio treated us as if we were in his home. He told us all about how the pasta was made, what is involved in truffle harvesting, and the ingredients on the boards. We took his suggestion and had the best dinner with our group.

Yelp
This elegant and modern Italian eatery is right in the heart of downtown Dallas, and therefore comes with the slightly higher downtown prices. But the food is really good, and if you're here for work like I am, its free! Service was friendly all around. $28 Salumi Board...a fine collection of cured meats, breads, and breads. All very tasty, I just with the portion was larger. $16 Frito Misto...deep fried calamari, Soft Shell Crab, Eggplant, Zucchini...lovely! $25 Pappardelle Ai Funghi...a wonderful pasta with Mixed Mushrooms, Truffle Cream & Shaved Truffle Pecorino. Add chicken! Its fantastic! $35 Cortelleta Veal...butterflied, breaded, and deep fried, served with an Italian coleslaw. Pretty good overall, it could've used a side of pasta or potatoes. On a weekday night the crowd was sea of after work white collar workers in dress shirts, khakis, blouses and formal skirts. I'd definitely come back for that mushroom pasta dish! And hopefully work will pay for it again! 5 Stars since work paid for this, but maybe more like 4 Stars if I had to pay.

Yelp
Such a cute place. Don't let the scaffolding scare you off They have a beautiful patio with fire pits We arrived early and they had a big corporate party at the bar going on so we date outside The server was amazing (so sorry I can t remember her name but she was atta drive and knowledgeable about the menu and the cocktail. The service was a little slow but The manager stopped by to check on us and everything was great but it's was nice to see a company that cared about the happiness of the guests We got a split Caesar salad And the linguine pescatore and we got a carnívora pizza The dough had and amazing chew and the toppings were perfectly placed The cocktails took a while so I recommend offing two at a time when they are busy All in all I loved this place and will be back to explore more of the menu.

Yelp
This was my first time visiting this place! The food was fantastic! The expresso martini was 2nd to none! The staff and customer service was top notch! I and my husband will be back!

Yelp
It was good but VERY expensive. I probably won't return because at this price point, there are better options in my opinion.

Yelp
400 Gradi is a really cute restaurant. The ambiance is nice. I went for lunch on a Friday & it was really quiet. I'm not sure if that's normal at lunch or if it was because of the storm that was happening or if the scaffolding for the building is hiding the restaurant. None the less we got plenty of attention which was great! If your driving you'll want to park in their garage & get parking validated. Parking is the reason I took a star away. It's hard to find especially with the scaffolding that's up right now. I had to call 6+ times before someone answered the phone. Which is frustrating when your lost but a bit more frustrating when you get there & see that the restaurant only has two other tables & several employees. When you walk down from the garage don't walk into the first door you see for the restaurant, keep walking around the corner & down a little ways there to the main entrance. After being seated the server was very attentive & helpful with questions. I got their old fashion that they specialize in. It was good and different. It tasted a little like it had a hint of orange crush. Picking off the lunch menu was hard. Everything sounded good. It was weird there are almost no pictures of the sandwiches on the menu but we risked it & order sandwiches. WORTH IT! Omg! I had the vegetarian sandwich & it was AMAZING! They use their pizza dough as the bread & it was so flavorful. I'm obsessed. The side salad was delicious as well. Overall check 400 Gradi out. You won't be disappointed regardless if it's for dinner or lunch. Just build in someone extra time into your plans for find parking.

Yelp
The pasta was very good. The tiramisu was not what I was expecting and if you like a traditional tiramisu, don't order this one. The service was perfect. The ambiance was perfect for a date night or special occasion.

Yelp
We had a business lunch here and I was good. I didn't give five stars because there wasn't anything extra fantastic but it is a solid choice if you're looking for pizza and other Italian food. The best thing we ate was the mozzarella appetizer. It was delicious.

Yelp
Went for dinner to celebrate an anniversary and had the best experience! The food was delicious, we started with a margarita pizza and had these 2 pasta dishes and everything was to die for! The service really stood out - our server JD was amazing and there was a gentleman named Z who sat us at our table and was so thoughtful all night - remembered our names and even walked us to the parking garage when we finished dinner! Highly recommend!!!

Yelp
Polite servers, nice location, but so noisy we didn't even open our menus. They move us to a quieter table and we still had to yell in each others ears to be heard. Too bad, because it looked like a nice place.

Yelp
This place was okay. The food itself was only alright, and for the dollar value it was probably below alright but I will still give it an "alright." We had a very awkward experience with our waiter is really what drives the low rating the most. We sat down and were looking to order a couple bottles of wine and asked the waiter his recommendation on a white wine. He suggested we order food then decide on the wine later. It was a little awkward and we said no we would like to order the wine now... and so we ordered a random white that sounded fine. He seemed a little ticked off, as if it was ill mannered for us to order wine before food in a nice restaurant but whatever. Time went on, we ordered some appetizers and ate them and then said we would like to have a red with our entrees so what red would he recommend. He said we should get white wine because we ordered pizza. So we ordered a random red. A little awkward. Understand he's trying to give us suggestions but a certain element of read the room would be nice. I would never suggest going back but if a group of people wanted to go I wouldn't talk them out of it.

Yelp
Dinner here was *chefs kiss* We ordered: Old fashioned White wine Food: Calamari (must order) Truffle Mushroom Pasta (must order) NY strip We came on a Saturday night and although this restaurant is in an office building, it's quite lively. We were able to get seated at the bar and had pleasant conversations with other guests. This is an upscale place and you want to dress up. The bartender was friendly and gave us prompt service. 10/10 recommend.

Yelp
one of my girlfriends recommended 400 gradi and it was worth the hype. we ordered their award-winning margherita pizza, tagliatelle alla bolognese, and papparedelle ai funghi. everything was amazinggg and delicious! our favorite dish was the papparedelle ai funghi-- creamy, flavorful, and the fresh pasta was cooked perfectly al dente. their old-fashioned was one of the best i've ever had. our server, Giorgio, was knowledgeable about the menu and kept us entertained. he was also attentive to our table. the vibe is inside is luxurious and romantic and the entire staff was warm and welcoming towards us. highly recommend this place for anyone who loves italian food and beautiful restaurants.

Yelp
UPDATED MARCH 2023 REVIEW: I've been here once more between 10/2022 and today. The service is always good, the food is delicious. That said, I was told by a manager that the gnocchi is a vegan option so I had it the last time I was here. It was delicious. Only today did I discover that it's not - it contains egg. So clearly not all staff/management is familiar with what's vegan or how certain items are made. Aside from a salad w/out cheese, the ONLY vegan option I'm aware of is the off-menu pasta with red sauce & veg/mushrooms from my original review. It really is delicious and worth having if you're here. I think the waiter's name is Brian who served me today & in October - he knows the menu & knows what's vegan. He's great! ORIGINAL OCTOBER 2022 REVIEW: Was here for a work event so we had the patio to ourselves. Drink menu was good - had the blackberry Hugo & some bourbon drink. Both were good and I'm not a huge bourbon drinker. Our buffet had a number of options everyone seemed to enjoy. When I asked about vegan options they said they could do a bowl of pasta with red sauce & veggies. This pasta, though, was no slouch! The red sauce was full of flavor & spice! I think the only veg in the dish were mushrooms but they were fancy mushrooms & they were delicious! It was seriously one of the best bowls of pasta l've had in recent memory. It was simple but amazing! Would love to see them add a vegan pizza option to the menu but I'd absolutely come back just for that bowl of pasta again!

Yelp
As soon as you walk into this restaurant you are greeted with an elevated sense of class and service! Their food is absolutely exquisite. I ordered their pappardelle pasta with mushrooms and salmon. Quite possible the best pasta dish I've had EVER! I was in town for work, so I could not take my leftovers home. Our server was Giorgio. He provided almost a personalized wine and pasta tasting experience. 100% would recommend!

Yelp
Great service, decent crabcakes and good arugula salad and pizza. Definitely recommend if you're looking for an enjoyable meal.

Yelp
I came here for the first time this past Saturday for an engagement dinner. Though we were presented with a limited menu, the pizza was amazing, and the crabcake bites were amazing... But the service was top-notch. They were super friendly, and on their game and I would totally recommend this place for large parties or just going out for food.
