Yelp
I would've given this a better score, but it wasn't about the food, it was about the customer service regard.
I made a reservation for (1) for 8:30pm and wanted a table. Upon showing up at the restaurant to dine they attempted to force me to sit at the bar considering I was dining alone.
Upon stating that I had a reservation, that I would like a table, that I wanted to enjoy a nice dinner alone, and also that I was traveling for business alone, they still kept suggesting that I sit at that bar.
I stated that I would prefer to have a table for comfort, and that sitting at the bar can become cramped. They still chose to push the idea on me sitting at the bar. To avoid further conflict and back & forth chatter, I told them I would just take a seat at the bar, as I was frustrated with the type of treatment that I was receiving and just wanted to enjoy a nice dinner.
This is a nice classy place and I was looking forward to trying their food, however, the quality of service and regard was less than favorable for my first experience here.
With me also working in the food industry, I understand utilizing tables for certain size parties, especially during extremely busy times, but if the customer follows protocol, has a reservation, and clearly tells you they want a table, then you should respect those wishes to give the customer the dining experience they deserve.
Dining at the bar isn't always the best way to enjoy your food in a classy establishment. From everything to arm room, bar noise, sitting in a higher seat, and other things to factor in, dining at the bar is sometimes your last option at a classy establishment.
After choosing to sit at the bar, the manager(or could've possibly been the owner/he had that demeanor about him) came over and attempted to then offer me a table and make small talk. This was thoroughly frustrating, as he could have extended the same effort once I voiced my preference.
I could understand being asked to sit at the bar if I was trying to just walk in and dine on a busy evening with no reservation.
I shouldn't have to show my dissatisfaction to be offered the seat that I initially booked and requested with my reservation in a charity type of way.
The food was solid. The Caesar salad was delicious, and the bolognese pasta was a little undercooked, the Prosecco was chilled and flavorful, but overall the food was solid. Great vibe, my server was attentive, and it's a great date night space. They also have a great bar selection and TV's at the bar to enjoy a game or other programming.
Honestly with them seeing and knowing that I was unhappy with the experience from the gate, they could've offered and appetizer or something else in consideration to shine a better light on my first experience here, but that wasn't the case.
I only want the basic regard that a customer deserves, and I want to have the best experience possible when choosing a new restaurant to enjoy. Sometimes listen to the customers needs versus trying to make things easy for yourself, especially when you have a variety of table options available to accommodate the customers request.
Overall they seem like nice people, and of course the space was nice, but I would give them another shot at some point, but this wasn't the initial experience I was looking for.
