We went here on one of the St. Johns "Night On The Town" evenings to get all of our wines for the Thanksgiving holiday. There were two patrons sitting at the bar and two others sitting at a table by the front window - that's all. And yet, when we walked in, the two employees behind the bar didn't greet us or even make eye contact.
We walked around, looking at the various wines, and neither of the employees asked us if we had questions or wanted a recommendation. The least expensive bottle of wine we saw was $14.99 and the average was around $30. $15 won't break the bank, but it would've been nice to see some $10 or less bottles available. After milling about for a few more minutes and still not being acknowledged by the staff, we decided to bugger off.
My husband and I don't look like much, but we make good money and we like to drink. We would've loved to spend $150 on wine (like we used to do at Barrique Barrel, St. Johns's previous wine shop), but we instead gave that money to New Seasons where we knew we could get inexpensive, delicious wines and helpful service.
Will not be going back to this wine shop.
