Yelp
Hell's Kitchen is filled with Thai restaurants, and I confess that in the past I have tried many of them with little success. One day while heading to Port Authority Bus Terminal I was really in the mood for Thai food and I saw Aiyara's high rating on Yelp so I decided to give it a shot. The interior is very nice. Towards the front is a bar and then the seating is to the right and goes deep into the back. Rest rooms are to the left. The decor is fairly modern and it feels comfortable. I have not yet eaten inside the restaurant since my order was to go. My order was ready *fast*, like in less than 15 minutes which surprised me. The staff was also super nice as I waited for the dishes. I had two dishes: Samosas (Fried crispy triangle filled with mixed vegetables) Generally anything fried is bet right out of the kitchen, but I will tell you that even after sitting in a container on a bus for an hour on a bus these samosas were fantastic! They were still mostly crispy and they had a wonderful flavor. Drunken Noodles (Sauteed fresh flat noodle with egg, tomato, onion, chinese brocoli, Thai basil in fresh chili and curry paste sauce. Hot and spicy) I have had many versions of Drunken Noodles from a variety of Thai restaurants in New York City and New Jersey and very few stand up to this one. The noodles are cooked perfectly and the flavors are savory and spicy (in favor of the savory aspect). Adding in chicken or shrimp (I've tried both) does add an extra layer of flavor to the dish with shrimp being a bit more powerful. Either way it's a great dish. I'm looking forward to going back to Aiyara soon, and I think that is one of the highest compliments you can pay any restaurant!

Yelp
Food delicious, decor low key for NYC, service a little slow bc they're probably short staffed but appreciate they are kind/helpful.. I noticed table next to me ordered the wrong thing and they took it back no questions asked. They're pretty busy bc people know the food is good here. Lychee martini was good too. Here's what I ordered: Lychee Martini Shrimp pad C ew Mixed veggies I would come back for sure!

Yelp
Lovely Thai restaurant in Hell's Kitchen that is surprisingly spacious. There was a simple elegance to the place and the ambiance was comfortable. I had called to make a reservation for my group of 10 and we had our own area in the back. It was difficult for me to decide what to order from their extensive menu. I went from wanting Salmon, to Duck Tamarind, then spotted Deep Fried Tilapia with eggplant, onion and green beans in a basil sauce. I went for the Deep Fried Tilapia, along with a side of sticky rice. My order took the longest to make. While waiting, I got to try the Fried Calamari and Crab Triangles. The Fried Calamari was lightly crunchy and oh so addicting with the sweet and sour sauce. The Crab Triangles were just okay, as they were made with imitation crab meat, cream cheese, and onion. The Deep Fried Tilapia was an impressively plated dish. It was cooked to crispy perfection, and the fish was amazingly tender, flaky, and full of wonderful basil flavor. The veggies were fresh and tasty, but I realized after the fact that it didn't come with any eggplant. Sticky rice was enjoyable as well. Service was great. Our waiter was friendly and patient, making sure we were taken care of throughout our meal. I would definitely return to try the Duck Tamarind and Drunken Noodle.

Yelp
This was my first time ordering from Aiyara Thai. I ordered the Rama dish with chicken for pickup. It comes with your choice of protein and a peanut sauce over broccoli (note the online menu says over bok choy but that's wrong). This is one of my favorite Thai dishes when done right. I think went with extra protein to be sure I'd have leftovers. The food was still being prepared when I arrived, so I take a seat at the bar in front. It didn't take long for the food to come out. I didn't realize that the dish also comes with a mini spring roll. That was a nice surprise. I also ordered a side of roti (not pictured). The spring roll was tasty and crunchy, but it had noodles in it which I'm not used to. It came on a little bed of salad with Thai dressing. The roti was nice. I haven't had it on too many occasions so I don't have much to compare to, but i liked it. The chicken portion was what I expected for extra protein. They gave a good amount of broccoli too (without detracting from the chicken amount). I thought the chicken was good and I plan to eat it again for leftovers, but I thought it could've used a little bit more flavor. It tasted better once I added salt, but I think it's probably because they use less oil than other Thai places. Overall, not a deal breaker. I still enjoyed my meal and the price was reasonable.

Yelp
While the interior design may not impress anybody the food will. I can't speak to all the dishes but the few I've tried make me confident the rest of the menu is well taken care of. The curry is a good consistency (I don't like curry to be very thick, especially not Kao Soi). On the other hand the noodle dishes are well balanced. Having the Pad See Ew was a delight because the noodles were well done (not stiff) and the sauce wasn't too thick. I hate when they smother noodles in sauce and this place doesn't have that problem. Don't worry about the lack of instagram photos, you'll be more than satisfied with the food.

Yelp
Great spot for a quick casual lunch with a friend. Located not too far from Moynihan train hall, friendly staff, and great food. Fair prices too! Worth the try!

Navin M.

Yelp
Decent food. The drunken noodles are particularly good, while the green curry could have used more herbs (Thai basil, lime leaf, etc). It's a bit pricey for what it is but a nice place to pop by. Service was decent.

Theresa S.

Yelp
Ordered to go to bring back to my hotel. The place is small. I walked in and they already had my food ready. It was pricey, but that's NY. I ordered tofu drunken noodles with medium spice. I opened the container and the food had a fishy smell, may it was from the sauce? The tofu had a light breading which was very good. Medium spice was not mouth burning, so that's a plus. Overall good food!

Yelp
Excellent spot for quality Thai food at a solid price point. Really hit the spot on a cold evening after a long day at the office. I recommend the crispy pork "pad c-ew," though I wish it came with a few more veggies. Service was speedy, friendly, and the food was delicious. Will definitely come back next time I'm in the area. FYI- make sure you double check the hours, as they close around 9pm on some weeknights!

Yelp
This is my go to lunch spot in midtown , depending on the day and mood of the server you might have a pleasant experience. Food lacks consistency, some days it's very good . Some days it's rushed -- Some days you request mild and get extra spicy unable to eat food. Not a bad place , can be improved . One thing that never disappoints is an ice cold SINGHA beer

Angela O.

Yelp
Great atmosphere and food was great! Wonderful for a quick lunch in the midtown/hudson yards area. Service was excellent

Ed M.

Yelp
Ordered two dishes: Pad C-Ew and Green Beef Curry. The Pad C-Ew noodle plate was excellent. Very flavorful with the right noodle texture. Some points were deducted from the Green Beef Curry. The taste of the curry sauce/soup was excellent. However, the beef was a bit chewy and the rice did not taste as fresh as newly cooked rice out of the rice cooker. I was a bit picky on my taste and most customers may not have noticed the slightly staled rice. I was one of the first customers for lunch, so I am not surprised if the rice came from the night before. Overall, the two dishes were pretty good.

Yelp
Wow! This place is a great choice in the Hudson yards/ Hell's Kitchen area. It is about to become my go to Thai food spot!! I got the pad Thai and it was delicious. Good amount of veggies, meat, sauce, etc. I really loved the spice level of mine (spicy)!!! My roommate got the drunken noodles and also loved them! We can't wait to try some of their curries. Great portion sizes too (basically two meals in one)! And lastly, excellent service. The lady with our takeout was so kind and welcoming, I wanted to stay! It was cute inside, so I totally could've. Overall will definitely be back!

Yelp
Wow! What a hidden gem. I ate here for lunch today. I coincidentally found it on Google Maps. The ambiance was causal and it doesn't seem reservations are needed but it was full by about 12 pm on a weekday. I ordered my go-to order of Drunken Noodles with chicken. I was very pleasantly surprised to see the order was only about $14.50 for the dish, plus a spring roll and a small salad! If you pay cash, it's only like $12! What a great lunch special! The drunken noodles were DELICIOUS! There was only one very, very hardworking waitress working during this time, so service was kind of slow but much better than expected given there was only 1 person working. Overall I would highly recommend Aiyara Thai and would happily eat here anytime!

Yelp
My gf and I went in for a late evening bite. We split the pad Thai. Good service, good ambience and the food was great. Recommended.

Rose L.

Yelp
Yummy dishes that we tried. Great location and flavorful dishes. Nice for any day dinner

Mais S.

Yelp
Very nice Thai restaurant! We got seated right away, clean indoor section. We ordered red Thai and I loved the pineapple in it!! The summer rolls were really good too

Kylie L.

Yelp
I've been here twice, dined in again recently. My friend got there before I did and had to wait a bit for me: The server seated her and told her not to worry at all about waiting inside for me. When I got there, the restaurant was pretty empty. Just one other table than ours. She ordered drunken noodles and I got the tom yum fried rice. 4/5 Drunken noodles - good flavor but a little sweet. The noodles were a good texture and the tofu was delicious. It wasn't hard on the outside like many places will make tofu, i could feel the outer layer of the tofu and the inside was soft. Decent portion. 4.5/5 Tom yum fried rice - it was like having tom yum soup but rice version! I got mine with prawns, they were huge. The dish had 5-6 pieces. Portion size was decent but wish there were more toppings, proportionately i was eating a lot of rice. We finished all but the last few bites of each dish. I would come back!

Nakia S.

Yelp
I had a good lunch at Aiyara Thai in terms of the food. After the initial welcome and seating, service was lackluster. Waitress never came back to check to see if everything was okay or if I needed anything. I guess my almost empty plate did all the talking...idk. Anyway, the food was good not great. I ordered the lunch special which comes with a spring roll, side salad and entree. Dumplings were separate. I did not like how they add 3.5% credit card fee to your bill!! Restaurants need to stop trying to pimp customers !!

Jenny J.

Yelp
Aiyara has been my go-to, as it's the nearest Thai spot in my area that's listed on Ritual. They've hit the mark consistently for me whenever I order Pad Thai or Pad See Ew, and they're extremely quick to prepare: usually 5 minutes. Today, however, I got what looked like a piece of plastic or fish scale in my Vegetarian Duck Pad See Ew...

Althea M.

Yelp
I always order their lunch special pad Thai and it never misses! Deifinitely one of my best tried pad Thai.

Brian S.

Yelp
My new favorite thai lunch place! Took a risk ordering the pad phed tilapia which was way better than I could've imagined. Never knew fried tilapia and eggplant went so well together, complex spice profile as well. Green curry and pad thai are very solid as well and reasonably priced.

Andrea S.

Yelp
I got this place through Uber eats and enjoyed the duck pad see ew and the crab triangle! The food was delicious and I would definitely order Thai food from here again.

Stephen L.

Yelp
Solid spot for classic Thai food. To start, we got the Summer Rolls ($6) - the veggies in the rolls tasted fresh but were a bit bland. The Pad Thai with Crispy Pork ($15) was delicious with flavorful noodles. The pork itself was decent, though a bit too fatty for my liking and not quite as crispy as I had hoped. For dessert, we got the Fried Banana with Fried Ice Cream ($10). This portion was large and tasty. The ice cream came in a large fried dough ball and the fried banana was inside of a spring roll kind of crispy wrapper. The prices were very reasonable. The inside of the restaurant was rather empty on a weekday night with plenty of seating. Our waiter was friendly and the service speed was pretty fast. They were playing some light Thai music, which added to the authentic vibe. The interior decor was also clean and modern with Thai-inspired touches here and there. Overall, I would recommend Aiyara Thai if you are looking for a reliable Thai restaurant in Midtown West that offers comparable quality without being as crowded as other places.

Bradley M.

Yelp
This is a neighborhood restaurant so it's simple with good food but not fancy. The service was polite and friendly and the dishes delicious. Compared to many of Manhattan's restaurants it is reasonably inexpensive but worthy of a second visit which were doing tonight!

Javell H.

Yelp
SO GOOD, SO YUMMY, SO AFFORDABLE. I wanted to try this place because I loveee Thai food. Honestly, I loved the entire vibe of the place. Really low key, low lights, great customer service. Decent amount of seating for those dining in. Let's talk food, the portions were really good and left us feeling very satisfied. I ordered chicken pad Thai, my boyfriend ordered some kinda of fried rice. We also got some vegetable spring rolls as shareable. The food was really good and I feel like for me, it's rare to say something was good Hahah. Restaurants usually don't hit the mark for me. But this food was so good, and my favorite thing about it is that it was sooo affordable. I was very impressed. So lots of love to the lowkey Thai spots thats still treating us well despite inflation going crazy.

Yelp
I was lamenting the closure of Larb Ubol, which used to be in this same place and was my favorite place to go for Issan Thai food. However, Aiyara did not disappoint. We were a party of four on Saturday evening. We showed up for an early dinner/late lunch when they opened at 4:30 and got to drinking while we perused the menu. The sake selection was great, the martini was ice cold and packed a crisp punch, and the service was excellent! We even had someone "pop-in" to say hi, and they were persuaded to stay for a drink. The restaurant accommodated us, no problem. While some of my less-daring cohort felt the food was delish, albeit too spicy, I ordered the Larb and found the spice level to be perfect. Hot, but delectable. Pad C-Yu [sic] and Green Curry were excellent. Will go here again, and now I don't miss Larb Ubol as much.

Thuy H.

Yelp
I really wanted to like this place but the food ultimately fell so short! We got the Tom yum soup, drunken noodles, basil fried rice, and chicken wings. The Tom yum soup was very watery and tasteless, usually tom yum soup color has spices in it but this one was murky brown. The drunken noodles had broken soggy noodles and was super sweet. The basil fried rice was tasteless as well and the chicken wings were pretty tough. NYC has so many Thai restaurants so I'm glad I tried this but won't be a regular unfortunately!

James B.

Yelp
Today I stopped off here on a Saturday night after going snowboarding. It was completely empty, I went in expecting not that great of food, I figured "a restaurant completely empty on a Saturday Night? Wow it must be bad". Surprisingly it was pretty good. I ordered Tom Yum Noodle Soup, Papaya Salad, Fish Cakes and Mango with Coconut Rice. Tom Yum Noodle Soup- creamy, spicy, good flavor, huge juicy shrimp, very generous with it. Papaya Salad-Good, fresh, good flavor, nice and spicy Fish Cakes-good lemongrass flavor, pretty tasty. Mango with Coconut Rice- Mango was ripe, sticky rice was a little too salty. Overall: good, would go back to again.

Heather S.

Yelp
First, the food tasted great! However, when you pay extra for a protein, you expect more than four pieces (see picture*). I had the food delivered, so can't speak to service or ambiance. *I dug around the noodles hoping for more, but alas, there were none.

Lethu m.

Yelp
I recently walked by this place and it looked like it had good food and it does, bartender is super friendly made me good recommendations so the service was great. Also try the Thai beer!

Rafiat K.

Yelp
I came in here for dinner on the weekend. I ordered the Summer Roll as an appetizer and the Spicy Basil Entree with Shrimp. I liked the sizable portions, neat presentation, and friendly service. The Summer Roll and the Entree had super fresh vegetables with great-tasting sauces. If you like Thai food, I'd recommend this restaurant.

Dionne V.

Yelp
Loved this place. It was clean and the service was . I ordered my standard fur testing Thai places, Panang Curry with chicken! Wow! I think this is number in place that I have had this dish. The heat level was perfect, The broth was not broken and they used green beans versus the carrot/baby corn some use. Moreover, It had the perfect amount of coconut milk, too often too much is used. My picture does not properly capture the color of the broth. The small salad and veggie spring roll came before the entree and, I devoured both; nice and unexpected touch! I'd give more stars if possible and if I get back to midtown Manhattan again I would go back to eat here!

Sher N.

Yelp
Ordered Spicy Thai Basil Fried Rice with Chicken: selected medium spicy the food is beyond medium spicy I cannot eat it! I have a tolerance for spicy so when I call and she tells me it's medium that's a lie! Not to mention no option to add utensils to the order! Delivery although third party you as the business owner have an obligation to complain or use another option! When I have to wait 30 minutes additional after I am told the delivery person is here you have to take accountability! I an done with these people! They want your business but don't want to provide customer service! You are not entitled to anything!

Suhani A.

Yelp
I got the spicy udon and was pleasantly surprised by the taste. The sauce is absolutely delicious and I was not expecting the taste to be SO good. Definitely wasn't spicy, in fact it tasted a bit sweet, but it had a few pieces of chili that added the kick (weren't overpowering though). The only setback for me was that I felt the dish wasn't big enough for one person because there weren't as many noodles as I would've liked. It seemed like a small portion was spread out on a larger place. Yet, nonetheless, was delicious! The Thai iced coffee was good, but nothing exceptional.

Elena J.

Yelp
Solid Thai food. Nothing to complain about. Service was quick, friendly and attentive. Weird cat litter smell near the bathroom but it is what it is. Will definitely eat here again.

Melinda W.

Yelp
Great customer service! We were seated immediately, no line and lots of options for seating The waitress was extremely friendly, quick to respond and amazing! She even brought me chopsticks and gave it to me without the wrapper, almost in anticipation of what I would ask anyway! They also have a great lunch deal, huge portions and cooked well! (Pad See-Ew) Great portion for this price! The noodles were not stale but a good chew! Seasoned and cooked well! Also, a weird compliment, but they had really soft toilet paper!

Devin T.

Yelp
Walking in, I wasn't necessarily greeted by the waiter guy at the bar. I waited for him to say something to me like hello, table for how many, or would you like to sit. Nope, nothing..... Nevertheless, I asked could I have a seat and he pointed. So I sat and looked at the menu. I chose a soup that I wouldn't ordinarily choose because I wanted to try something new. It was good I must say. Tons of bean sprouts which I love, big shrimp and rice noddles. I also ordered spring rolls. Can't ever go wrong with spring rolls!

Jennifer L.

Yelp
Pretty good Thai place with great lunch special option and prices. Got a group order for pickup. Ordered the Spicy Basil with chicken and also has green beans and onions in brown sauce. + Pretty flavorful since the slices of chicken and vegetables get coated in the sauce. + Comes with rice (chose brown rice) in a separate takeout box. But it's funny that it was wrapped in saran wrap in the box lol. + Also comes with salad and deep-fried vegetarian spring roll as a side. Both of those were really good as Only major complaint was the packaging was not closed properly so some of the sauce leaked.

Luckens L.

Yelp
I loved the service quick and easy dine in for lunch. I ordered the Drunken Noodle Special & Vegetable Dumplings. Lychee Mojito was . If you're looking to try Thai food in the city I definitely suggest you check them out!

Ti W.

Yelp
Very cozy and delicious Thai restaurant near Penn station. The duck curry was extremely good. It was not duck breast but a half crispy duck (like the ones you can get from a Chinese restaurant). The drunken noodle was also very tasty. We ordered the mango with sticky rice because it reminded me of the ones that I had in Bangkok. The mango was a bit less ripe though but the dessert as a whole was nice.

Rakshaa R.

Yelp
Our food was good and came to us fast. It could have been spicier but was still enjoyable. The ambience inside is nice, with nice lighting and art.

Percy H.

Yelp
Not bad at all. Aiyara Thai is definitely not bad at all and certainly worth a try. When you first arrive, you get the impression that this is a new spot and must have open rather recently. Aiyara Thai is bright and deep. When my friend and I arrived, we sat in the front by the window. No one was in the restaurant but two workers and I imagine cooks in the back. The idea was to pick a spot in the area and have a great meal after seeing The Soldier Play at the American Airlines Theater, a must see I might add but I digress. So we picked Aiyara because of their happy hour and the fact that the menu was pretty extensive. As I mentioned, we were seated by the window and within minutes we had out Thai lychee no mojitos and we were off to the races. The mojitos were fabulous. We also orders a few delicious appetizers and chose our Andres from the curry menu. My friend and I enjoyed two curry dishes, mine was red and spicy and my friends was traditional but we both order salmon at the topper. Yum .. yum ....yum ....for lack of more culinary descriptions but it was darn good indeed. If your ever in the neighborhood, give them a try. Oh ya, by the end of our meal, the place was packed.

Brian M.

Yelp
Very disappointed in the quality of the food, simple Pad Thai noodles was a bland and gelatinous mess. There were no bean sports, coriander or spices. The chicken was paltry and unseasoned. Not even a small wedge of fresh lime was included. Will not be here again.

Jackie M.

Yelp
Had a lovely dinner here last night. Curry Puff appetizer followed by Green Chicken Curry. Both dishes were great. The staff were friendly and attentive. Really pleasant experience.

Nora C.

Yelp
Aiyara Thai Ratings: 3.9/5 Food: 4.25/5 - Got takeout for lunch, and decided to try out another Thai place in the area. I got the shrimp eggplant basil with double portion of chicken. The food exceeded my expectations, surprisingly delicious and flavorful. The sauce was what really blew my mind, rich and appetizing. It was so tasty and inviting, so good because probably there's way too much sodium in it! There are five jumbo shrimps and a good decent amount of chicken. Proteins are well-cooked, tender, and juicy. The veggies such as the eggplant, onion, and string beans are all fresh and not soggy at all. The brown rice was really good, texture is chewy and firm. The only downside is that the eggplant basil stir fry was a bit too greasy and oily. I had to scrape off some of the oi on the top, otherwise it will be too heavy for sure. Ambiance: 3.75/5 - There are only indoor seating available and a nice cocktail bar as soon as you walk in. Interior is small with limited seating, and the decor is very minimal. It is relatively clean and brightly-lit. Nothing too fancy with the interior design. Price: 3.5/5 - Okay prices, but there are good lunch special deals during the week. I got the shrimp eggplant basil for $16 (total 5 pieces of shrimp), and I added double portion of chicken for an additional $6. The total came up to $25. Portion was good, and definitely full afterwards, but a lunch for $25 is definitely on the pricier end. Service: 4/5 - Walked into the restaurant to place my order on Uber Eats, and the guy greeted me right away and asked if I got any questions. He is nice and patience with me. It took around 10-15 mins to prepare my food, so did a quick walk in the area while I waited. Food prepared fairly quickly and good customer service overall. BLUF: Try the eggplant basil or the regular basil stir fry. The food is good, and I would recommend getting the brown rice. Lunch specials are only available from Mondays to Fridays. Overall, decent restaurant for some amazing Thai food. Good place for a quick bite.

Vishal B.

Yelp
Overall ok experience. When our food was ready, they gave it to the wrong table. The stupid thing is, the people who received our food either didn't know or they didn't care, because they didn't say anything. It turned out that they ordered everything we ordered except the Spicy Basil fried rice. They took it back after a couple minutes they served it to them, but by then they had already eaten some. Then they served that to us. We saw a small chunk of the rice gone. Then they prepared the rest. The food was ok. Later, they also charged us a gratuity fee of $5. Not coming here again.

Jessie G.

Yelp
I usually only eat one dish from any and all Thai places! The Panang curry and for some reason this panang curry tastes like a little curry mixed with hot milk !! Hardly any flavor at all! Id go ask for a refund but I went on my lunch break paid with cash and don't get off until 5. Majorly disappointed and won't be ordering here again smh.

Annabella C.

Yelp
Came here for my 2nd time. Didn't realize they had tom yum seafood on my 1st time then ordered it on my 2nd an it was really good Service was phenomenal
