Nashville’s Most Anticipated Restaurant Openings, Fall 2021 - Eater Nashville

"The Nations lands bourbon cocktails and smoked meats from legendary pitmaster Carey Bringle this fall. Located in a former service station, Bringle is keeping the gas station vibes in his second smokehouse, where he’ll change up the menu. The meat situation here will be more 'mission-style', priced by the pound and served as part of shared platters. Bringle will also offer fried chicken on special occasions, alongside sides like roasted street corn and Texas-style baked beans." - Delia Jo Ramsey

Yelp
Let me start with the food. The food is absolutely spectacular. Served like you are back in high school in the lunch line. I got the bbq nachos and everything about it was delicious. Pretty big portions too The atmosphere is top notch as well, with plenty of TVs. Watched the Tennessee game in the outdoor area and they had two large projectors on. Bar was serving drinks all night and was reasonably priced. Great spot

Yelp
Walked in, and the design was nice enough--definitely a new place. They offered a quarter-pound option for meats, which was a good touch. However, the food was bland, barely seasoned, which was disappointing. Sat at the bar, and it took forever to get a second drink, then had to leave with the tab open. To top it off, they decided to butcher a turkey right next to the bar. The smell of raw turkey was a massive turn-off, especially when paired with some animal show about surgery on snakes playing nearby. The place has a lot of potential, but the food was underwhelming, and the service was subpar. Overall, not a great experience.

Yelp
I love some BBQ nachos and this is the place to get them! I love their outdoor patio - I have come plenty of time to watch football, soccer and hockey. Great spot to have a neighborhood hang and get a great meal. The Nations is a great location, there is street parking and a lot near the "back" of the restaurant/patio.

Yelp
We were passing through the area on vacation, and it was by a brewery we wanted to visit. Location and food was good. The meat was out of this world. I felt the street corn was missing something, and I personally did not like that it was cold. The turnip greens were good, had good flavors. The Mac n Cheese was missing something as well. The beans tasted more like Mexican flavor vs smokehouse flavor. The sides would not be a go to, but I would get the meats again. The menu is small, easy to make choices. Lots of sitting area outside, not able yo oder out there, but can order inside snd take it outside to eat. A large area inside to sit. The staff we not overly helpful but they looked young and were busy chatting. I would go for the meats again, but that would be all. Worth a try if you like smoked meats.

Yelp
Great vibes for watching sports. We went to watch football and they had 2 games up on the big screens. Drinks were great! Have a decent selection of beers on draft and frozen drinks that were fruity and delicious! Outside has picnic tables, rocking chairs and lots of space. Inside has BBQ you go down the line and just select what you like. Food was decent, not the best BBQ I've had here in Nashville but with a great drinks and football, I'm sure I'll be back

Yelp
Great atmosphere, disappointing food. I definitely had high hopes for this place, as this place's sister shop, Peg Leg Porker, is always amazing. Patio and indoor are good, and has a great setup for sporting event watching. The brisket and corned beef were alright but not great, both were kind of rough and not flavorful. The mac n cheese did not taste very fresh and was just not that rich. The sausage and street corn were both pretty good, thankfully.

Yelp
Fantastic food and outdoor space! We visited for lunch and are outside. Everyone enjoyed their food and we loved the spacious patio which had lots of picnic tables, lots of televisions, and a full bar. I had a house-made pastrami sandwich with coleslaw and I added a few pickles. It was large and delicious! I also had a side of the cowboy beans and a side of Mac and cheese. Both were good, but I liked the beans better. This is a great place for groups and it is dog friendly. The food alone is worth the trip, but the outdoor space is really special. I recommend you give it a try.

Yelp
If you order online just know they upcharge on DoorDash. Went in and got turkey, Mac n cheese, brisket and the beans. It was okay. The brisket was decently juicy and tender but the fat didn't render well so that was an unpleasant texture and look. The turkey was good, not dry, Mac was good, beans weren't bad. Tasted more like chili than baked beans but I think they are called cowboy beans? I could be mistaken on that tho lol It wasn't super great but wasn't bad either. I think the vibe is cool outside tho

Yelp
Full transparency- Leaving this as a guest of a neighbor, how host a small party/group, and catering was provided by Bringles. All meats and sides were served, and food was approximately 2hrs old, when it was finally served. Sides, cold and fresh, and all meats were double wrapped (Saran and Foil), and still warm. I enjoy having Peg Leg cater my customer meetings. But never had Bringles. Hands down, some of, if not the best BBQ. Ribs, brisket, and pulled pork, were all 10/10. I didn't have a chance to try the sausage, so I cannot speak for that. Overall, I'm planning a visit to the restaurant later this week. Can't wait to share another review.

Yelp
I have been here twice and only during the daytime but both times the food has been fantastic and the service of the bar has also been great. They have a great selection of barbecue, including an amazing jalapeño sausage link and smoked pastrami, which is a rare find in the barbecue scene in Nashville. They have daily drink specials in a massive outdoor, mostly covered patio with great Crossbreeze and large ceiling fans to keep it cool on those hot summer days. There is an inside area that is cafeteria style seating for those days you just can't be outside. As everyone knows this is a creation by the founder of the Peg Leg barbecue joint and it's apparent in the quality of the barbecue. I am tend to come back in the evening and probably bring the kids as it seems super kid, friendly with an enclosed outdoor area and there are desserts on the menu to keep those sweet tooths happy

Yelp
This place is a great place for Barbecue food. We stopped by after a recommendation from Pennington Whiskey for a good spot. They were not wrong, wow some of the best barbecue I have had. We enjoyed the smoked pulled pork, smoked pastrami and brisket all incredible. Macaroni and cheese was excellent and my wife love the potato salad. I can't say too much about service except for the folks in the buffet line, they are super nice and when we explained we were from out of town they shared some small tasting for our decisions. This place has indoor and outdoor sitting with a large bar outside. The people are great and we enjoyed the atmosphere.

Yelp
I came here today for the first time. I drive by the giant tv's frequently, and it seemed like a good place to watch March Madness. I enjoyed the laid back atmosphere and the nachos. However, I had a really bizarre interaction with one of the bartenders and am hesitant to return because of that.

Yelp
Great outdoor spot outside of the city. Big TVs and cafeteria style - push a tray and they serve what you want. I wasn't greeted or told how to order, it being my first time there. So it was a bit awkward when they stared at me and I stared back. They serve you a portion size and you can ask for more or less from there. The Mac and cheese was lacking. Looks good but no flavor. Coleslaw was OK, on the lighter side. The potatoe salad was my favorite side. Pulled pork was very salty. The brisket was yummy, melted in my mouth. Not sure what the sausage was but it was just average. I like the unlimited pickles, onions, and jalapeño. White sauce was my favorite , the other two tastes the same. Was expecting a bit better overall but it gets. 3.5-4 for me

Yelp
Bringles Smoking Oasis is the place that I was looking for. I am incredibly glad that I found it. The venue itself doesn't have a parking lot, but true to most parts of Nashville, free parking is nearby and easy to find. The employees describe the restaurant as cafeteria style, which sounds slightly off putting, but don't let it put you off. It simply means to grab a tray and make your way through the line. Everything is à la carte, so choose whatever sounds good to you. I grabbed the mac n cheese, cowboy beans, brisket, pastrami, and pork ribs. All of the food tasted incredible. I didn't like Peg Leg Porker, but I had the best meal of my Nashville visit at Bringles Smoking Oasis.

Yelp
This is a great spot to go to with a bunch of buddies to watch a game or 2. The food is great and the atmosphere is even better. There are lots of food and beer options that would make anyone happy. My one critique would be that the food is not quiet as good as the original Peg Leg Porker. If you're going for the food I would recommend Peg Leg, but if you're goin for the atmosphere, this is the place to be.

Yelp
I came here on a football Sunday in December, so it was cold outside. I think the outside area would be dope in the warm weather, they had plenty of yard space, some dart boards, plenty of tv's, and a bar. The food was pretty good. I loved the mac and cheese! The setup for food is like Subway vibes. You stand on one end and go down the line ordering what you want. They had seating inside and a small bar with ~10 seats at it. There were limited tvs inside so we did not stay to watch all the football games.

Yelp
I had a great lunch here. The food was good, the staff were friendly and helpful, and there is lots of seating both indoors and outside, with TVs strategically located. Bringles Smoking Oasis is brought to you by the owner of the famous Peg Leg Porker in The Gulch. At Bringles, however, they opt for more of Texas style BBQ. There's nothing wrong with that, but it does result in some flavors that are different from what you might expect in Tennessee (I'm looking at you, Memphis!). You order at the counter with a Texas-style meat market experience. Meats are sold by the quarter pound, and you can mix and match however you like. You can also add side dishes along the way, along with some desserts. I opted for the Beef Brisket and the Pulled Pork, along with Cowboy Beans and Potato Salad. As I watched them cut the Beef Brisket I could see the juices running out, along with the smoke ring, so I was optimistic. The meat wasn't quite as moist or flavorful as I was expecting, but it was still very good. The Pulled Pork was fantastic. I'm one of those guys who tends to drown his pulled pork in sauce (sorry, Texas!), but at Bringles this wasn't necessary at all. The pork was tender, juicy, and flavorful. Very well executed. The Potato Salad was nice with chunks of potato, a creamy texture, and good flavor. The Cowboy Beans have a flavor profile that is closer to chili than what you would normally get in the way of baked beans at a BBQ joint, but the flavor was very good. Not my personal preference in terms of flavor profile, but still very good. Speaking of Texas flavor, the BBQ sauce is available in Texas Mild or Texas Spicy. Both are good, but neither provides the sweetness of a typical Memphis style sauce for pulled pork. Very good, just not what you would normally expect around here. I'm most certainly be back. I still prefer Peg Leg Porker over Bringle's Smoking Oasis, but that's really only because of my own flavor preferences. They do a great job at Bringle's, and the friendly staff greatly added to the experience.

Yelp
This place is outside Nashville about 15 min or so from Broadway; a quick Uber. This is a sister restaurant to Peg Leg Porker and is more Texas style BBQ. First, this oasis is aptly named it is in the middle of a suburban area and provides food and refreshments to the neighborhood. The inside reminds you of the legendary BBQ places in Lockhart with the cafeteria style line where you order what you want by the LB. The outside is a party waiting to happen with lots of tables, a walk up bar and plenty of fake grass to play corn hole, giant Jenga, and darts. Now onto the food! I had the pulled pork nachos, the serving was too much for me to eat so I suggest sharing with someone. They were so good. You can literally top the chips and cheese with whatever you want. I went all out, hence the need to share. Hubs had some jalapeño sausage, brisket and turkey. All were so good and true to Texas style. Turkey and brisket were moist and the jalapeño sausage was spicy and flavorful. We will be back to watch some football this weekend. Check it out!

Yelp
Ive lived here for three years, I am truly unsure why I have never even heard of bringles until my friends said "should we go to bringles" last week. We had such a blast, awesome options for frozen drinks on those hot days, great barbecue, and full bar (plus wine on tap). We enjoyed our drinks and food on one of the many outdoor tables. Great for sports watching and definitely dog friendly!

Wade L.

Yelp
Good morning, After last night we will not be returning to this bar. The manager Greg made our experience terrible. We asked for the TN game to to be on the left tv and was told in the most negative manner that it would not be flipped due to "ole miss fans," yet there were no ole miss at the bar. We wanted to love this place after hearing great things, but it was ruined by such poor service. For a bar with the TN game advertised and an orange sea of a crowd you'd expect after numerous people asking that a game with a blowout would be changed for a game of two top 15 teams. Guess the staff doesn't understand their demographic and state in which they live.

Yelp
I enjoyed Peg Leg Porker's and unlike most movies this sequel is just as amazing as the original! Everything is cafeteria style so you can see what you're ordering before you get it and you pay the pound for meats so you can try as much or as little (or none) of each item as you want. The lean brisket, ribs, and smoked turkey were all as good as I've tried anywhere. The ribs had that perfect match between being tender but not too tender and everything had the smoky flavor you want in BBQ. Sides were excellent as well, I really enjoyed the cucumber salad and cowboy beans. I needed a salad too after a few days without one and found one here. The tea is spot on too. Service is very friendly and since it's cafeteria style it's easy to get seconds if you're still hungry, though portions are large so you might not need to. It was rainy when we went so we sat inside but they also have a lot of outside seating and as outside bar for when the weather's good. This isn't near Broadway or the tourist part of Nashville so you'll probably need to drive or Uber. I don't think there's a parking lot but there seems to be a little street parking. This place is worth the trek and I'd be a regular if I lived in town.

Yelp
Bringle's is a cool spot, love the big open area outdoors and would be a cool spot to watch sports and drink outside. 5 stars for the area. 3 stars for the food. To be honest I was disappointed in the food, as Bringle's other restaurant, Peg Leg Porker, is the best BBQ in Nashville in my opinion. The day that I went, they weren't serving beef ribs which I went to try (big bummer) and the rest of the food I did get was honestly kinda cold and just not too good. I had a high standard going in and it didn't come close. Brisket and ribs just didn't hit this day. The good parts about the food: jalapeño cheddar sausage was great. Not too overpowering on the flavors and tasted good with their hot bbq sauce. I also really love their Mac n cheese and I am usually pretty picky about Mac n cheese. I would go back to drink, but I wouldn't be ordering a whole platter of food again.

Yelp
Bringles was such a good time! I stopped by Bringles with a couple of friends and it was a great choice. I had the pork sandwich and Mac and cheese, both of witch were delicious. My only complaint is that the pork was a bit dry but with the amazing sauces available, my sandwich was great. Service at the food part of the restaurant was quick and helpful, but there was a large wait at the bar. Bringles has a good feel to it, the sports on the TVs, dartboards on one end, and bags at the other just made the place feel inviting and just a fun place to relax with friends

Yelp
The food is amazing, great service, the jalapeño sausage and pastrami are a must try. The atmosphere is awesome with indoor and outdoor seating. Highly recommend try Bringles and Peg Leg Porker

Yelp
Best bbq on that side of town. I ordered the brisket, jalapeño sausage link and smoked turkey with their cowboy beans and Coleslaw. The brisket had a GREAT bark and was fork tender. Amazing smoke flavor. Best brisket I've had in Nashville. The sausage link wasn't spicy but had a nice peppery kick. The turkey was juicy and smoky. Turkey is so underrated but maybe one of my favorite smoked foods and they nailed it. The service is so simple. Seems complicated if it's your first time. It's a traditional Texas BBQ cafeteria style. You just grab a tray and they'll serve you whatever you want from what they have and you pay at the end of the line. The building(s) are epic. They have a beautiful covered awning with nice grass. Family friendly environments and would be a great place to hang with the family (dogs) and friends while watching a game on one of their two JUMBO screens. Great place to grab some drinks too. They have two separate bar areas that include cocktails and local craft beers. I got the wheated orange craft which was compared to a blue moon.... Needless to say that it was MUCH better than blue moon. 10/10 would recommend this place. It's such a cool vibe! Parking and getting to it is also not bad at all. Pretty much park wherever on the streets and walk up to it. I could go on but I'll stop here.

Yelp
Absolutely awesome space! Great spacious outdoor area with ample seating. The food is set up in a line inside so you can see what you're getting before you order it. I truly cannot tell you which side or main was my favorite because everything here was a 10/10. The macaroni and cheese is so flavorful and extra creamy. We also loved the corn. Such a unique option packed with flavor. The brisket was melt in your mouth and I love that they let you pick fatty or lean. The meats truly didn't need the sauces but loved having the option to dip if we wanted. Such a great experience and would love to come back anytime I'm craving bbq!

Yelp
One of my fav BBQ places in Nashville!! I love their smoked Turkey. I also love the mac and cheese - it's unique and yummy! I think the kind of cafeteria style ordering is perfect for the vibe of the restaurant. The people are always so nice, and always so quick! It's a great place to hang on the weekends for sure.
google avatar

Kathy P.

Yelp
So so yummy and a great outdoor space! We stopped by before an NSC game and enjoyed a spread of a little bit of everything! The standouts for me were for sure the sausage and ribs while my roommate loved the nachos and elote. They also had a few spiked "slushes" on the menu that we enjoyed. We brought our pup along to enjoy the dog-friendly space which she sure did! Highly recommend this spot-especially when the weather is nice!
google avatar

Yelp
BIG fan of this place as I have watched games outside here before. Unique and super cool space. I used to live down the street from here and could walk but now I'm a short drive away. I've had some BBQ meats before here and other sides and it's always great. Lots of good local beers on tap as well. However, this past recent visit and review is about their brisket stew. I needed to have a late lunch and was in the neighborhood so I popped in after noticing their IG post showcasing their Brunswick Stew offering. Outstanding and so were the greens! Not too heavy or thick nor salty. Rich tomato and brisket flavor but still light. Almost reminded me of Creole style (not Cajun) gumbo. They have an area where you can help yourself to pickled red onions, pickled jalapeños, BBQ sauces, etc. I went back in line and took a pint home with me. One of these days I'll try their porchetta when they have it or beef ribs!
google avatar

Kyle S.

Yelp
The meats were definitely the shining part of this meal! They were very tasty with lots of flavor! The bun was served cold, dry, and it was hard to eat. I wasn't very impressed with the Mac n cheese or Street corn. The best side was the potato salad!
google avatar

Ciara J.

Yelp
All of the meats were delicious! The sides are just ok. Of the sides I ate, I enjoyed the street corn, then slaw. The mac is uneventful--bland. I will definitely return to try the smoked turkey and get the sales meats again. I love the deer up of Smoking Oasis. It's the ideal spot to chill at on a nice summer day, especially when any game is playing--the TVs are gigantic and plentiful. Drinks are good too. The Paloma on tap is legit (thumbs up).

Yelp
Yummy cafeteria-style bbq and a huge dog-friendly outdoor patio with sports playing on the tv, plenty of picnic tables, & room to wander around. There is also indoor seating & a large bar outside for easy beverage access. We will absolutely be back. We enjoyed spending a couple of hours there on a beautiful day!

Asher P.

Yelp
Great food, the people in the food line are always friendly and nice. The brisket is INCREDIBLE as well as the street corn, macaroni and cheese and key lime pie. They always have the international soccer/football (whichever you prefer) on big screens. They also have a welcoming atmosphere as well as allowing dogs outside.
google avatar

Judy B.

Yelp
We visited on a football day, great large screen TVs. We had the brisket, sausage, ribs and pastrami. The meats were so tender and tasty. Star was the pastrami. Street corn and key lime pie were very good also. Fun place

Liz R.

Yelp
The food was tasty...loved the jalapeño sausage and smoked turkey! Great outdoor space with a friendly bartender. Kids enjoyed it too!

Duncan M.

Yelp
Best ribs I've ever had. Got the ribs and banana pudding with some pickles on the side
google avatar

Dusty F.

Yelp
From the folks that brought you Peg Leg Porkers... Bringles brings the beef. Really good brisket and pastrami. Totally different vibe, building, food... really cool. The building has inside and outside seating with tons of TVs and booze... well thought out for sports nights. This place impressed me. 5 stars.
google avatar

Alley F.

Yelp
Smoking Oasis in the nations. Awesome spot to watch football, bring your pup, and eat good food. Tends to be a long wait for food but there is an easily accessible outdoor bar for quick drink service. Brisket, turkey, mac and cheese, as well as potato salad are all a hit. The banana pudding is not my favorite but still decent. Street parking only and bring sunscreen if you'll be there all day to watch football!
google avatar

Kristi C.

Yelp
Tried this place while in Nashville with my son. Certainly served a lot of food. BBQ was ok...not the best I've had. Also tried the Mac and cheese which was fine but I wouldn't rush back. Atmosphere was good. Probably a really fun place to hang out and watch football but excellent BBQ place it wasn't.

Yelp
Authentic and amazing Texas barbecue has finally come to Nashville. This cafeteria style barbecue restaurant allows for you to take a tray and walk down the line, telling the servers what you want as they cut the meats and scoop the sides. Just be careful you don't order too much because it can get pretty expensive. All of their meat prices are priced by the quarter pound, but for the quality and taste, it is definitely worth it! My friends and I ordered a ton of meats to share. We got brisket, pastrami, and ribs. We also got sides of corn, macaroni, and tortillas. Let's start out with the ribs. These ribs were falling off the bone and so juicy and tender with a really mild yet sweet barbecue sauce. Absolutely fantastic. Next to pastrami. I love pastrami, but I didn't realize how good barbecued pastrami is. This was so tender and fatty. It was very mildly spiced so that the actual pastrami flavor comes out, and that thick bark with a lot of pepper was absolutely incredible. The last meet was the brisket. The pièce de résistance. We asked for a fatty, and we got it fatty. There was a thick slab of fat running through our brisket. It was so warm and immediately melted in your mouth as you ate it. The brisket itself was the best brisket I've ever had outside of Texas itself. The thick charred bark was so flavorful, and the meat inside was barely hanging together by threads of fat. I liked taking a tortilla wrap and making a little brisket taco with some pickles, jalapeños, pickled onions and some sauces! The sides were fantastic. The cold corn salad had so much flavor and crunch and was a refreshing juxtaposition to the warm, soft meat. The macaroni and cheese was also fantastic. So cheesy and so creamy, and the big pasta shells really helped capture a bunch of cheese in every bite. What you see pictured on the big tray was about $80 after tip and tax, but there was so much food left over after three of us were eating. As we were about to leave, the staff brought us a box with quite a few more slices of brisket for free! Such good service and quality staff!! I really like the vibe of the place. They even have an outdoor area where you can get drinks and play games outdoors. Without a doubt I will be returning here again in the future as the experience was incredible from start to finish!

Casey G.

Yelp
I would love to rate this place, but they run out of every food but sausage. So, that may be because they are super good, or they just love some sausage. Either way we had to find another venue.
google avatar

Pamela B.

Yelp
The food was okay, but not worthy of a letter home to momma. Way over priced! Their service leaves you to yourself. The concept of outdoor dinning is overstated. Multiple TV's for sports to catch your attention. Great for spending a lot of money for drinks and sports.

Yelp
For those that don't know, this establishment is owned by the same person as Peg Leg Porker downtown. I will say the food was great in most every aspect. I managed to try 4 different meats, which were the brisket, jalepeno cheddar sausage, pulled pork, and ribs. Depending on which cut of brisket will determine whether you get a fattier cut or a drier center cut. Preference is different with everyone on that. The jalepeno cheddar sausage had great flavor and was in no way overly spicy. The ribs weren't bad they were just okay as they were on the dry side. Pulled pork would have to have been my personal favorite. Moist and consistent flavor throughout from beginning to end. Potato salad tasted homemade and was mayo based. Mac and cheese was creamy and had plenty of flavor. Cowboy beans were my personal favorite, and they had some kick. Good twist on baked beans. Banana pudding was also good, but felt it needed actual wafers. One thing they dont mention is when you order nachos at the $11 menu price, to have anything other than cheese and chips, you have to pay $3 extra for each topping do be aware of that. Now, compared to Peg Leg Porker location, this location was noticeably more upscale. Had plenty of outdoor seating with a bar as well as big screen tvs. No pets were allowed inside the establishment, but I was unsure if it was allowed in the outside area but did see someone with their pet. Large open parking area across the street in a gravel lot. All in all, me and the rest of my party were impressed with the food, service and atmosphere. I am looking forward to giving it another try to see consistency, or I just lucked out.

Yelp
Really, really good food. The sides complimented the meats perfectly. Our only complaint was that the music was a bit too loud. Other than that we had a great meal and the staff were friendly and helpful.

Yelp
First time here & as you walk in - you get a warm welcome! It's cafeteria style, so grab a tray and saddle up to the bar (I mean the food bar). Started off with Beans and Mac & Cheese, plus some potato salad! The sides are probably the best sides I have had in awhile at a BBQ restaurant. Then you have to go for the "meats!" Great choices! We had ribs, jalapeño sausage, brisket (lean and fatty and pastrami (lean). The sausage was awesome - not spicy and delicious! The fatty brisket was amazing and the lean was okay. The ribs were a bit dry for me, so that was a bummer (maybe we got there too early?). The pastrami was good but I really should have gone with a fatty cut for that. The sauces on the side were fantastic! The tea was awesome and they have a full bar outside! The staff there is just fantastic and really customer service focused - staff gets 5 Stars ! Plus outdoor and indoor option is fantastic! Indoor is great but their outdoor space has plenty of TVs and seating, plus some space for kids to run around. Definitely will be back!

Yelp
I've been a long-time customer (a regular at one point) to Peg Leg Porker. Dubbed "Peg Leg Fridays", my friends and I would make a trek from LaVergne all the way to The Gulch just to eat there. My meal would bounce between half-a-rack and 2 sides to a full rack, no sides. I never strayed from this and I accumulated more than 50 Peg Leg plastic cups during that tenure. But life happened and I changed jobs and the tradition was broken. A few months back, I found myself at Peg Leg and saw the cup itself advertised Bringle's Smoking Oasis. I kept a close eye on it because it was supposed to open in October. Despite the delay, it's finally open and Carey Bringle has really outdone himself with Bringle's Smoking Oasis. Everything about Bringle's Smoking Oasis is fantastic and I am willing to bet it's going to be as popular (if not more) than Peg Leg. The location is fantastic with ample parking in The Nations area (one of Nashville's booming neighborhoods). The restaurant itself boasts a huge outdoor space. I am curious how that will translate to colder temperatures because I didn't see any heating apparatuses. The majority of the seating here is outdoor with lots of TVs and two video boards attached to the outdoor bar area. A couple cornhole boards line the far end of the outdoor area. Indoors, it's a little cramped with limited seating and I'm willing to say its footprint is smaller than Peg Leg's, which could be a problem if the weather isn't cooperating. To get your food, it's served cafeteria style. You get your tray, pick your sides and desserts and finally reach the carving station with a weight scale attached to the cash register where you pay per 1/4 lb of meat. The speed in which you check out (with your food) is dependent on how fast they carve your meats. Luckily the bossman Carey Bringle himself was there on opening day and the process was really smooth. At the time of this writing, the beef ribs were not available. I wanted them so bad but resorted to 3/4 lb of brisket and a half rack of St. Louis style ribs. My sides were Mac & Cheese (which is just like Peg Leg's) and turnip greens. What's not on the menu boards (but was advertised by Carey) was the pastrami. I should have gotten some because pastrami is in the most simple terms, is brined beef brisket. Similar to corned beef, I straight up destroy corned beef every St. Patty's day. The ribs tasted like Peg Leg's but they were St. Louis style instead of baby backs. Meaning they were a little tougher, bigger, and meatier considering they weren't baby backs. Tender, smoky ribs with just the right amount enough resistance as you tear the meat off the bone. The all-star (and one of the main reasons I came) was the beef brisket. The bark was legendary. I asked Carey specifically for a fattier chunk of the brisket. Chock full of spices with a warm, juicy, fatty, savory, smoky, and beefy center. It was heavenly. The turnip greens were lightly seasoned with a light vinegary flavor. I would have preferred more vinegar but of course, some people don't like vinegary greens. I think it helps stave off the bitterness. The Mac & Cheese, as I said before, was just like Peg Leg's. Super cheesy and creamy. As for right now in the beginning of December, Bringle's Smoking Oasis is only open Friday through Sunday. This place is so good, I'm going to meet my other friend here tomorrow. And as luck would find it, I took a new job in Nashville. That means I can come here as often as I like during the weekday. So that means I'll be here, every Friday for the rest of my life.

Yelp
This might just be the best bbq in Nashville now. Carey Bringle of Peg Leg Porker brings a new restaurant with some of his tried and trues- pulled pork and spare ribs but adds in beef & turkey. Oh, and they still have that delicious mac'n'cheese. So we went on a Sunday and they had beef ribs. They are HUGE....a little pricey, but super worth it. This thing was delicious. So tender and flavorful. Really incredible. There wasn't as much bark as I've seen on other smoked beef ribs, but the seasoning made up for it. Highly recommend. But let me tell you about the pastrami. HOLY $*%+! Pastrami and bbq spots is really hit and miss for me, but this was easily the best thing we had here. It's not overtly salty or smokey- but blends just the right combination of spices and that smoke flavor. Probably the best pastrami I've had at a bbq spot. The ribs are pretty much the same as Peg Leg- simple and great. The brisket had a great flavor but felt a little dry- maybe we went too late in the evening. The indoor portion is cafeteria style where you grab a try and go down the line picking what you'd like. Love it. Then there is someone cutting your bbq by the pound in front of you. Love even more. There's a full bar inside and an even bigger one outside- where there's a huge space to hang out, play cornhole, and watch sports. This place is awesome.

Yelp
We had driven past Bringles several times before deciding to give it a try. It never looks open unless I see people in the big outdoor area. While they don't have a private parking lot, there is plenty of street parking around the restaurant. It is cafeteria-style service. The meat is sold by the pound, so be aware that your eyes are often bigger than your stomach (or your wallet). The two of us tried the brisket, pulled pork, smoked turkey, and the jalapeno cheddar sausage. Our favorite was the pulled pork and the jalapeno cheddar sausage. The brisket was good but the pieces we received were more fatty than normal, so a lot of our brisket was tossed. The turkey was pretty average. We ordered four of the sides--slaw, mac and cheese, turnip greens, and cowboy beans. Our favorite was the mac and cheese. Creamy, flavorful, so good. The only downside was the price. Our two meals without anything to drink was over $54 for lunch but I will say, we did leave full. Bringles is definitely worth trying out.

Yelp
Cool atmosphere , drinks are cold, bartenders are friendly. Food is pretty good. Will definitely return if ever in the area.
