The empanadas here are amazing, my favorites are the beef ones 🫶🏻🤤 you have to try them!! The good in general is very high quality. The service is also great, the baristas are always nice and very helpful.

This place is a gem in the neighborhood! Food is always freshly prepared with wholesome ingredients, simple and delicious. Staff team is so friendly and helpful. I love their crab cake salad, and the latte is always my favorite. Would absolutely recommend!

Lots of hot food options. Variety of pastry options. Latte I had was great. Staff are kind and efficient. Very stroller-friendly - space is big enough for parents to come in with them. During my visit multiple parents had kids or babies in strollers with them. Others were reading peacefully at a table. Great place to grab a drink/snack and relax. Overall cute spot and would recommend!

The coffee tastes amazing!!! I was apartment hunting and got tired, so I couldn't find my regular go to shops near by, I went in. and OMG, the coffee was perfect. The staff was very nice!! When I was there, they had some sort of cleaning inside or something so the all the tables and chairs were here and there, but if I come back this area, I will definitely come back

Came here yesterday for brunch and we had a good time. The service was friendly and on point and the food was delicious. I like the ambiance, it has indoor seating, outdoor seating, along with garden seating in the back. They also offer complimentary water. ORDERED: Me: Smoked Salmon Salad: I changed cream cheese to avocado and I enjoyed my dish. Matcha Latte with Chaggacino: the staff was a bit iffy about this combo but I suggest they go ahead with it and I enjoyed it. Cheesecake: it was delicious. AH: Chicken Club Salad Overall, I enjoyed my experience here and will definitely return.

Beautiful summer day today in Queens! We've been to this spot before but didn't have a chance to have a prepared meal until today. We are parents of a toddler, so it's kind of challenging sometimes to find a chill spot to eat with him. From beginning to end we loved our experience at 51st Bakery and Cafe. The staff were very friendly and efficient with taking our orders. The drinks and food came out right away, and we were easily able to find a spot to sit down and enjoy our meal. This will be our regular spot whenever we are in the area!

51st Bakery and Cafe is located in the heart of LIC and conveniently within walking distance from the Vernon Blvd - Jackson Av subway station. The weather was in the high 80s today. My commute from Bayside to LIC was an hour. My good friend Nicole and I decided to try 51st Bakery and Cafe. The ambiance was perfect for our lunch date. I informed one of the employees about my food allergies. First, you need to order and pay for your food. Second, you can grab an empty table. One of the employees will bring out your food. Sandwiches (served on baguette, five grain, or sourdough) Nicole: Smoked Salmon on Baguette Me: Chicken Club on Baguette - The baguette topped with mozzarella, pesto aioli, roasted peppers, and sliced chicken was flavorful. One word: Scrumptious Bookmark this spot to try!

Matcha latte wasn't the best but the sandwiches are really good. Recommend the cheese and ham sandwich with fig jam!

I love this bakery! All the morning baked goods are soooo tasty (scones & muffins are my favorites!) and the baristas are super friendly! They also have ample amount of seating which is great! An excellent way to start to my mornings!

Stopped in because I was going to MogMog next door and grabbed some cookies for dessert. The raspberry cookie was decent, but the chocolate chip cookie was super undercooked and gross. Might give their drinks or sandwiches a try in the future if I'm over here again, but won't go out of my way.

I recently checked out 51st Bakery and Cafe at the suggestion of a few friends. The space is a typical cafe layout, with a good amount of seating, and order at the counter. The staff are friendly and really collegial with each other, which was nice. I got a couple of sandwiches (Smoked Salmon and Chickpea). The smoked salmon was good, the chickpea was very underspiced. I had a good experience at 51st, but would like to try it again to see if I get a few more items that I enjoy.

Their blueberry muffin is absolutely delicious, as is the strawberry lemonade they carry in a bottle. I absolutely love it. The lemon cake was a let down and the empanadas are good. I have to come by and try more things!

I was between 4 and 5 stars on this one and I decided on 5 stars with the caveat that the drinks (we tried) were mid but the food was good enough to make up for it. Highly, highly recommend the 51st egg sandwich, which is one of the best breakfast sandwiches I've had in my life? Brioche was so soft but didn't get soggy, and smelled so amazing and buttery. Eggs well cooked, the caramelized onions really elevated it, the spicy aioli fantastic and adding a bit of heat-- just all the components came together so well. Also appreciate that they used white cheddar instead of regular, for no other reason than that I prefer white cheddar. I also really liked their scones, chocolate chip cookie was good as well (very soft; wish they heated up the baked goods though). Food came out fast. But yeah, tried the turmeric latte (okay) and the hot chocolate had barely any chocolate. I smelled it and legit thought I had covid for a split second because I couldn't smell anything. Tastes like the hot chocolate you make when you want to fall asleep and you don't want to risk adding too much sugar, so you just make it with 98% milk.

Quaint local cafe in LIC which was a convenient location for my friend and I to meet. I stopped by two Sundays ago when it was 75-80F and they left the doors/windows open to let in the warm breeze. I got a cold brew which was OK and there were plenty of people at the cafe doing work (good amount of seating too, which you'd never find in Manhattan). I would have to try the cafe food next time, but at least the coffee wasn't bad.

Great sandwiches and baked goods. The owner, Faye, did our wedding cake. Such a valuable part of our neighborhood.

Such a lovely establishment in the neighborhood. The best coffee AND food. Most coffee shops can't do both well, but this one does! Perfect for a quick coffee, a nice lunch, or both. The staff, especially Andre, are very friendly and this place is truly one of my favorites in the neighborhood :)

I typically do not like to post negative comments. I tried doing this over the phone because there isn't an email address on the website. The person who answered the phone directed me to Instagram in order to communicate with the owner. The roast chicken was horrible. It tasted like days old salty rotisserie chicken and I almost swallowed small chicken bones. This is super dangerous and unacceptable! I hope that the current owner reads this and makes more of an effort to manage quality control in person instead of Instagram. I miss the former owners. I will not be returning.

terrible customer service, barely a smile. i ordered a matcha latte with oat milk and a vanilla bean syrup and got it HOT. i wanted it iced the matcha latte wasn't even mixed properly and it had chunks of matcha, didn't taste a single vanilla bean flavor, and it wasn't even filled to the top for $6.80. i'm incredibly disappointed and i'll never come here again. what the fuck

I've had the chance to visit this cafe a few times since moving to the neighborhood. It's one of those tucked away spots that you wouldn't necessarily come across if you didn't live on the street. Regardless, each time I go I'm always appreciative of the kind staff and the space itself! The interior is spacious with plenty of tables for patrons to sit at. They also have a quaint outdoor space that's practical for the spring and summer. This spot is good to go with a small group or for a coffee date if you can snag a spot in the outdoor area. They've got a wide selection of specialty coffee beverages plus a beer and wine selection too. They make sandwiches and have a variety of pastries too. You should also check out the cool Japanese shop next door!

Came here on a Saturday afternoon, ample seating inside and in the backyard. The barista seemed really friendly, and although they don't serve seasonal themed drinks she put cinnamon and a little maple in my latte which I enjoyed! Seriously, the latte was SO GOOD- the milk froth was so fluffy it was like i was drinking a cloud. they also had some good looking pastries in the back that I'll check out next time. They are also taking reservations for pies ($29 each I think?) The wifi is fast and efficient, would definitely recommend for studying or getting work done. Around closing time they didn't rush me or anything, just gave me a 30 minute warning which was appreciated. Overall, great service and vibes!

Gave this place another try. Well-meaning staff, but everything else is either mediocre or downright awful. Santa Chiara continues to hold the top spot followed by Sweetleaf on Jackson (avoid Centre Blvd), then this dumpster, with Blackstar maintaining it's position as absolute worst.

I love this place! I'm convinced that Andre makes the best matcha lattes with oat milk in NYC! It is so creamy and has just the right amount of sweetness without being overwhelming. Andre offers great customer service. He is a breath of fresh air--always giving a warm hello and offering a kind word. He plays good music at the cafe too! Other staff members like Jason are super delightful too. I frequent this place whenever I'm in the neighborhood visiting my partner.

Best pastries and bread in lic!!! Get a sandwich on a fresh baguette, a cookie, croissant! You really cannot go wrong. Plus there is an amazing back patio/ garden

Solid pastries - I like their croissants for being flaky without being too crazy buttery, and I'm a fan of their brownie, rich but not too sweet. The banana bread is solid as well, but don't super care for their muffins. The staff here is super friendly every time I come, and the space seems nice and cozy, and I can see it being a nice cafe to work in during pre (and hopefully post) covid times.

I love this spot! It's a definite LIC hotspot, especially after the local schools get out. Their coffee is fine, but their breakfast and pastry spread are excellent. I recommend the muffins and breakfast sandwiches!

This is an amazing place! All of their food is healthy & fresh delish - even the presentation on the plates they serve on is nice and Manhattan bistro-grade. (The little pieces of apple they served our dishes with were some variety of juicy, crunchy & sweet Honeycrisp - Wonder where they got it-?!) Speaking of "serve", when hubby, a friend & I all chose to eat outside together (they have five tables in total with plenty of chairs), 3 workers waited us with our food and when we requested more napkins and cutlery, it was done promptly and with a friendly smile (!) Another added plus is the fact that it isn't windy here because it's blocked all sides by buildings from the East River. They deserve 10 stars if I could give that to them!! P.S. Don't forget to buy a chocolate chip cookie - Freshly-baked in-house! P.P.S. We WILL be coming back!

Nope nope. Just got a oat milk turmeric milk latte, asked the male server if it was indeed oatmilk because it tasted like whole milk. And it definitely was not oatmilk had to rush home , some people are lactose intolerant. I think he didn't like the tip i left for ONE DRINK. ( he makes you pay before you get the drink) ahem* gross and petty service.

Freshly baked Simply great outdoor seating, local coffee, fresh-baked croissants, muffins along with an amazing lemon bread. Early this morning, walking with my family around the rising new neighborhood of Long Island City in Queens, we followed a sign placed on a corner " 51st Bakery all day Breakfast " and half a block down, we found it! My 4-year old daughter went straight in and spotted the chocolate croissants. We ordered coffee, croissants and a delicious lemon bread (later we ordered more to take home along with muffins, highly recommended!. It was 30 degrees today and it didn't matter. The area was quiet and attractive that we sat outside and enjoyed our breakfast. We learned from Lily, who was very friendly behind the counter, that they will have a back garden to enjoy this upcoming spring-summer. After browsing through the storefront, we realized that this place serves wine, a good place to come back for a glass.

Cute space and super friendly service, but the two breakfast wraps I ordered were just OK. Totally solid, nothing to complain about, I just wouldn't make this a destination based off my experiences. The mushroom tea sample I had was surprisingly good though, I might come back for that.

Neighborhood's little gem. I love their coffee and breakfast/pastries. Breakfast burrito and 51st bakery sandwich are our go-to and love their scones when freshly brought out in the morning. Good seating area inside and outdoor. It also has a backyard space. Stroller friendly altho no automatic door.

A great bakery!! I tried several pastries here and everything was so tasty. The plain croissant is crispy and flaky. The almond croissant has much filling and tasty. Their coffee cake is absolutely delicious!! The biscuit is crispy outside and moist inside. This is one of my favorite bakeries in LIC. I will keep coming back.

Went in on a ninety degree day, they don't have air condition, only a couple of fans to cool off their place. That's the only reason why it's not a five stars review. Coffee, special of the day egg sandwich and service was excellent!

Came hear on a whim whilst I was in the area. Friendly staff, delicious baked goods and had possibly the best chai latte in NY. They also have a great sandwich menu and a variety of coffee and tea products on sale. They also serve beer and wine. Nice cosy ambience, perfect place to get some work done. Highly recommend it!

51st bakery and cafe This is not a pizzeria, however they are a PIZZACHYNCH instagram follower & to show my appreciation I brought my family here for breakfast. Luckily, 51st offers GF food options that suite my sister's allergy needs. The 2 servers were amazingly sweet, which made me think , hmm....probably not native New Yorkers, nonetheless a gracious demeanor is always appreciated. We devoured their scones & croissant sandwiches. It was all freshly delicious. It is clear 51st Bakery and Cafe are passionate about serving great food. I'd go back in a heart beat. I predict you'll be in LIC for a while. Thank you for the follow and good food

51st Bakery and Cafe might actually be my favorite cafe of its kind. I found this bakery on Yelp and thought it'd be a perfect place for lunch because my friend and I had to pick up a Zipcar in the neighborhood. We came on a Saturday afternoon and while the cafe was bustling, there were enough empty seats to sit. We both ordered the frittata sandwich with ham, cheese, spinach, and egg on multigrain bread. It was so delicious and filling! We also ordered a cookie and scone from the bakery options because there were so many delicious goods we couldn't resist. The scone was a little hard, but otherwise very flavorful and certainly a memorable scone. 51st would be a great place to idle, catch up, or do work. There were some people who brought their laptops and others who were just catching up, but the noise level never seemed too bad - free wifi is always a bonus as well. I've come across many many bakeries in NYC and 51st is certainly one of my favorites!

I'm so glad a friend recommended this place to me. It has the best almond croissants, hands down, in all of LIC! But they sell out fast, so you got to go early in the morning to get it during the weekdays. During the weekends, I managed to snatch two around 10 to 11am, which is rare and pure luck! Their lunch items change every week though they have a few main staples. I like coming here on the weekends for lunch and sit outside, it's in a quiet relatively neighborhood for the hustle and bustle-ness of LIC. The matcha lattes are a bit too heavy on the matcha. I started twitching after having one, and I drink matcha everyday. I tried the mushroom and coffee latte, which was interesting! Not my go to but would have it again on a day where I'd like some extra caffeine.

For some reason, Hunters Point in Long Island City has a ton of restaurants and bars, but it only has a few options for a quick breakfast. I think this place is easily the best option in the area. The space itself isn't anything too special. They have a few mismatched tables and benches and a sofa arranged in a deep, narrow seating area. I've never see it too busy, so you can usually grab a stool at a communal table or at the window, even on a weekend. They have a fair selection of baked goods, which is pretty common for most cafes in the area. The coffee is decent too, but it isn't anything remarkable. The egg sandwiches though are the real reason this spot is my favorite quick breakfast in the area. The eggs are covered with a melted cheese sauce, and they offer a few options for toppings--avocado is a personal favorite. For the area though, I'll agree that it's a little expensive--$29 for two coffees, two sandwiches, and a piece of banana bread! This place is easily one of my favorites in the area. After trying and striking out at a handful of other local bakeries and cafes, I'll gladly return here for quick weekend breakfasts.

Only stopped in for a quick snack and got a chocolate chip cookie based on many people recommending them on this app. Can vouch that they are good! Lots of chocolate chips, slightly chewy. I wish I had asked to warm it up though because I think it would be even better warm. Will be back to try the coffee and food!

We lived in Hunters Point in 2014 - 2015. 51st Bakery and Cafe was our go-to morning breakfast. We just came back in Dec. 2021 to visit the neighborhood & were excited to have brunch there. Still outstanding & nobody beats their bakery goodies. Close to the 7 (Vernon Blvd) stop OR blocks from the NYC East River Ferry, Hunter Point South dock. Worth your time to eat & certainly take home some goodies...

Perfect spot for a soup and sandwich or hot beverage. Unfortunately they ran out of the Roasted Butternut sandwich but the Buratta and Roasted Beets sandwich was delicious as well as the Potato Leek soup. Will definitely be coming back again to try more things on the menu.

We had our first breakfast here. We got two egg and cheese frittatas on multi-grain bread and added onions. They also have the cutest merch there. Awesome LIC and 51 bakery t-shirts.

Super chill vibe there. Love the deco and the music there. The service is great and the staff are super friendly and always smile The soy chai latte I got was made with love and super yummy! A lot of people work there on weekdays. Weekend morning brunch is alway busy.

I like cheese! This place had very good cheese. I came for a special dinner for a friend's birthday and everything was super delicious. We started with a salad that had pecans, berries and a light dressing. It was very good. The afore-mentioned cheese looked like a giant piece of cake and it was amazing. Entrees included pork and chicken, both well prepared, tender and moist. I really liked the flavor of the pork. Sides included asparagus and polenta (I think that's what it was). There was even dessert. The cheesecake was the creamiest I've had in awhile. Service was friendly and efficient. This was a really excellent dinner and if I lived nearby, this would be a staple I'm sure.

Amazing salads! I've lived here a few months and wish I found this spot even sooner :) we tried the butternut squash salad (favorite!) and chicken salad. Love both. Next time will try the sandwiches and cookies. Will make this a new go to spot for lunch.

My review is also for the chocolate chip cookie, they didn't look very impressive but the taste! crispy outside soft inside and most importantly not too sweet! I bought 1 to try and by gosh that cookie was gone 10 steps after i stepped out the door. This place is fairly new and so they do not have a large selection of baked goods yet but i hope they will soon! and bread please carry fresh bread? Lic needs a bakery of your skill lvl selling fresh baguettes or i do at least. The chocolate chip cookie is 5 staaa. Selection of goods is tiny and is more like 2 stars now.. but they are new so all is forgiven, i will review again when they really get settled in. Go try their chocolate chip cookie it's $1 . . . Go go!

To make this short and direct, let's begin saying that I love the roast chicken salad. Every time when I come here, that's the only thing I get. This is also the only salad that I crave. When I first tried it, it was amazing. The chicken was warm and tender. Everything was perfect. My second time getting this wasn't as good. The chicken was cold and a bit dry. Third time, I've noticed the salad wasn't as good as the first time. 51st bakery lost 1 star because, apparently they don't warm up the chicken anymore (I asked) and the portion has definitely gotten smaller. Also, I feel like they should chop up the leaves instead of giving one whole big leaf that's the size of your face. Otherwise, this bakery is truly one of my favorite places to go to.

This place is SO adorable. Cute tables and enough space for quite a bit of people to gaze at some delicious baked goods. I have lived literally one street over for almost 6 months and this is my first time there -- what a mistake. At the recommendation of a friend who frequents the place, I stopped on my journey to find some chocolate cake. I didn't find the cake but I found other goodies to appease this chocolate fiend. This review is only 4 stars purely because I haven't tried their caffeinated goodies or their savory selections & that means there's room for improvement BUT will be updated when I do sample them. Ambiance was nice and relaxed. Large tables so some studying could probably be done there. The staff was friendly and didn't make me feel pressured to buy anything like other bakeries. I saw chocolate chip cookies bigger than my palm (although I do have small hands..) & a molasses cookie (I forgot exactly what else was in there) and I had to get them. The prices were extremely fair especially since the cookies were cooked exactly as I them: chewy, barely cakey. Next time, I'll try the chia pets because they are freakin' adorable but for now, I am definitely a fan.
