The 31 Best Private Dining Rooms In NYC

"One of our Best New Restaurants of 2022, this contemporary Asian spot is big and glitzy, with impressive architectural touches like a rainbow-colored ceiling. In their private dining room, you’ll get a three course menu, highlighted by things like Hainanese chicken and xiao long bao with burgundy truffle." - neha talreja, bryan kim, hannah albertine, will hartman

Holiday Specials at New York Restaurants and Hotels

"Join this Pan-Asian restaurant on Thanksgiving for their one-night only dine-in dinner, where Thanksgiving specials along with their regular a la carte menu will be available to order for diners. Full pies like maple kabocha (miso, ginger, cinnamon) and apple crumble (kuromitsu, caramelized honey, kinako oat streusel) will also be available for order to go. Not enough sweets for the holidays? Then visit the AMG (Altamarea Group) Bakeshop, where signature desserts like classic cookies from Ai Fiori, bespoke bonbons from Marea, and handmade pies from Osteria Morini await. Pair your sweet tooth with something savory this Christmas with roasted duck wrap. Priced at $58, each wrap contains roasted duck, five spice hoisin cause, leek, and cucumbers." - Kevin Chau

Dining With an Inspector — Inside Midtown’s Modern Dining Boîte, 53

"53 is a modern dining boîte located at 53 West 53rd Street in New York. It features a dimly lit, two-floor setup with cozy, intimate tables. The venue offers a cocktail and wine list that complements its extensive yet focused menu. Key dishes include Yellowtail with ikura, citrus, and sorrel, diver scallop in XO sauce, lobster rice in a lotus leaf, and halibut with mushroom broth and ginger. Desserts like the Napoleon with gula melaka mousse, lime zest, whipped cream, and brûléed banana offer a sweet ending." - MICHELIN Guide

Dining With an Inspector — Inside Midtown’s Modern Dining Boîte, 53

"Entering the dimly lit boîte, New York’s 53, a spot I've been meaning to check out. The name of the restaurant hails from its location, 53 West 53rd Street, which also happens to be the address of one of Manhattan’s premiere residences. Inside the two-floor restaurant, the diners upstairs were slick, elegant, and oozing romance. The menu featured dishes like Yellowtail with ikura, citrus, and sorrel, and the diver scallop in XO sauce. Moving onto heartier fare like Lobster rice in a lotus leaf served with ikura, and halibut with mushroom broth and ginger. For dessert, Napoleon filled with a mousse flavored with gula melaka and served with brûléed banana." - MICHELIN Guide

The 20 Best Restaurants In Midtown

"This “contemporary Asian” spot from the Marea team is right next door to the MoMA, so it’s only fitting that it raises the bar for restaurant design in NYC. The main dining room features sweeping rainbow-colored blades across the ceiling that might remind you of strings on a giant harp. For your next big night out, head here for some of the city's best soup dumplings, and don’t even try to decide between the sambal-smothered skate and the incredibly moist Hainanese chicken—just get both." - bryan kim, sonal shah, kenny yang, carina finn koeppicus
