D.C. Bartenders Embracing the Zero-Waste Cocktail Movement - Eater DC

"Beverage director JR Rena strives to utilize every part of an ingredient, including overripe fruits, cheese rinds, and even some trimmings from the kitchen. Those leftovers are used in cordials, bitters, and infusions, like the mandarin peel syrup in the restaurant’s Mandarin Cobbler. The drink uses both the juice, zest, and skin of the mandarin to create a citrus-forward beverage." - Claudia Rosenbaum

Yelp
So, I finally had a chance to visit Dirty Habit and it's literally one of my new favorite places. Everything was amazing. The decor and ambiance is beautiful. The lighting was perfect and I immediately took notice that everything was so thoughtfully put together. The staff was helpful and accommodating from start to finish. The food and drinks were sooooo good. I just suggest that if you have to use the restroom, it's a little journey from the restaurant so maybe go before ordering food, lol. (since it's in a hotel, you have to take the elevator up a floor and down a hall). Overall, it was so great that I will be back next week to try the dinner menu. This time, we did brunch and I have to figure out when I can go back for that too!

Yelp
I went for an event at this location that was hosted on their patio area. It's a really nice set up where they have bar height, tables and lounging couch areas. It was a pretty hot day and one thing that I noticed is that they didn't have many areas that had shade so the sun was constantly beaming on you. It started to become unbearable and I actually ended up leaving the event early. However, the staff was really kind and the food came out fast. I got a tequila sunrise which was good, kind of sweet. I also got their chicken and waffles and that was delicious. The waffle with cooked to perfection. Chicken was crispy and they had a dipping sauce that went with it that was really good! I would definitely go back when there wasn't an event just to check out the restaurant.

Yelp
I'm a little conflicted since it had such high points in cocktails and dinner - their halibut dish was divine, but the way they ran an event hosting was a bust. It is a beautiful venue tucked away inside Kimpton hotel, which has a very eclectic modern old meets new contemporary feel. I was a plus one to an event so the cocktails and horderves were comped, but I could not help wondering why they invited so many people to host with not enough bartenders and also leaving two wet and freshly painted metal tables directly in the way of bar out on the patio. A couple of people almost ran straight into it or set drinks on them before we were told they were "wet paint." Like why not move them before the event? The odd feelings and also not enough variety in appetizers, although that mango, shrimp ceviche was special, made me settle on this three stars score.

Yelp
Booked a reservation for my birthday at Dirty Habit and the experience was GREAT. Our server was so kind, he really explained the menu pieces and was able to make suggestions. The chicken was a FULL meal, really different from anything I've had - it was stuffed with gravy and surrounded by a light but tangy sauce. Interestingly plated as well. The bread rolls tasted a bit like pretzel bites, overall warm and paired lovely with the butter. Dirty Habit really is a vibe! - great for photos, with a variety of backgrounds from the darker dinning area to the colorfulness of the connected lobby. Expect a little hike to the bathroom as it's on the other side of the building and on the 2nd floor.

Yelp
Dirty Habit restaurant features an edgy design complemented by beautiful floral decor and a striking urban patio. It offers a wide selection of premium drinks and food items at slightly higher prices, making it a more upscale dining destination. Whether you're meeting friends for drinks or having a romantic date night, this spot caters to every occasion. Reservations for the indoor seating area are highly recommended. The service at Dirty Habit is exceptional, with a special mention to Belinda and Diana who provided amazing service. Even the bartenders and support staff went above and beyond to ensure a great dining experience. We tried a variety of drinks, wine, shrimp tempura, chicken sandwiches, and churros, and everything was of good quality. While none of the dishes were particularly outstanding, the top-notch service and ambiance more than made up for it. Overall, Dirty Habit is a fantastic dining spot.

Yelp
Was super excited to try Dirty Habit. Booked a stay at Hotel Monaco and was able to get a Saturday night reservation. Our reservation was for 5pm in the "glass house". Learned when we were checking in that there are two sections of the restaurant... the "bird cage" and the "glass house". Both are beautiful, but the glass house is a bit brighter and open, and you can see the outdoor patio space. The bird cage is a bit more intimate and dimly lit. Everything was great about our initial experience. Our waitress was on top of her game and made us feel welcome. We started off with a few drinks and an order of the truffle fries. The fries and the dipping sauce were a solid 10! The sauce definitely has a bit of a kick. Unfortunately, the other dishes fell flat for me. I went with the oxtail appetizer and my friend ordered the lamb shank. The waitress explained the oxtail was off the bone, which I was totally fine with. What was disappointing for me was that it lacked salt. It was super underwhelming for me. Even hot sauce couldn't save it. I was only able to eat a small portion of the dish. The lamb shank was the same. Lacked salt. Although, the lamb was a bit more palatable. The lamb was cooked perfectly and was coming off the bone. The garbanzo beans and what seemed to be a curry sauce all came together, but the lack of salt really hurt the dish. I'll definitely be back for drinks and the environment, but will pass on the food.

Yelp
Came here for brunch & we had good food & good drinks. The service was really great & I enjoyed the vibe of the restaurant. I ordered the salad & breakfast potatoes. The potatoes were really yummy, but the salad had way too much dressing on it. I'll definitely be back to give this place another try :)

Yelp
I've heard good reviews about this restaurant, so I decided to check it out for dinner. When we first walked in, we did not see a host to check us in. We stood in the hallway for quite some time, and someone eventually showed up to checked us in. For drinks, we ordered a mocktail which was specially made for us by the bartender. I'm not quite sure what was in it, but our drinks came out so good. For food, we ordered the smoke beet salad to start, pan-seared scallops, crispy snapper, cardamom rice, amish chicken, and truffle fries. They all tasted so delicious and had flavor. The presentation of each meal looked amazing and tasted good too. We ordered a lot of food because it came in smaller portions. Now can we get into the desert? We ordered the Na' Nu dessert and let me just say I wanted seconds. So good! The vibe here was very grown and elegant. Definitely a great place for a date night. The service was also amazing. Our server Enrique was very attentive and awesome. I really left this restaurant satisfied. I would definitely return again.

Yelp
I really wish I can give this place a 4.8 stars out of five but I can't so I'll just get five. Dirty Habit had immaculate vibes, amazing food, great customer service. I love the music. It was sincerely top three places I ever been. It was reasonably priced in my opinion but you might see wavering opinions on the rates. The reason I took away .2 stars is ONLY because I'm getting old and it was kinda dark. My eyesight isn't what it once was but that's more of a personal issue. If you're under 35, you'll rate it a 5/5. Anyone older might have some gripes. Amazing restaurant though and I will definitely be back.

Yelp
Love this restaurant. Ambiance is quite lovely. Love that it's attached to a hotel and that would be Hotel Monaco. We had several dishes but what I remember most has to be the Truffle Fries!!!! OMG they literally melt in your mouth. Everything was nice but I remember the truffle fries very well. Services was good too no complaints. Yes I would definitely visit again!

Yelp
Brunch was pretty solid. My cousin's French toast looked so fluffy and yummy! I had the salmon burger and it was good. Extra points for the truffle fries substitution! Our server was great and was trying to get the party started lol! He convinced us to get extra drinks whoo! They included a service charge which our server pointed out so that was good of him to do.

Yelp
Wow. What a cool atmosphere-- so very trendy and chic! Loved the vibe. My friend and I came for an early dinner. The specialty cocktails weren't really what I was looking for, but I ordered a French 75 which was delicious! Thank you to whomever the bartender was that evening! Really enjoyed the pan seared scallops which were part of the small bites but you can have it as a meal too! You can add scallops for addtl $8 per scallop. Really loved the favor of the dish, wish there were a few more pasta pieces in there! Anddd I loved the crispy Brussel sprouts! I could eat those any time! We checked out the dessert menu but nothing screamed out at us. Would definitely like to come back and see what HH is like at the bar!

Yelp
I stuck to my old "habits" and enjoyed my usual eggs benny at Dirty Habit. I found this cool little spot tucked away in the Kimpton Hotel near the National Portrait Gallery while checking out their Christmas Market this last trip. While Dirty Habit has both indoor & outdoor, this Floridian decided to enjoy their indoor space with the 40 something degree weather! The indoor space was classy casual with a chic slightly industrial look. Service was pleasant and my waiter on point with his recommendations. Case in point, the Dulce de Leche on warm, fluffy bread with berries and creme was filling to the point I could have enjoyed it stand alone. It's a great dessert and a must have! As far as savory, the eggs were deliciously runny with a mildly salty slice of canadian bacon & hollandaise over the classic English muffin. The sauce could have been a little richer but no biggie. Adirondack red potatoes rounded out my carbs. These potatoes, pinkish on the inside and with a hint of hit, were a pleasantly original spin on an otherwise plain veggie. A classic Hemingway Daiquiri "hydrated" my dinner and their espresso martini was the perfect after brunch drink. I'm looking forward to my culinary habits leading me back here next trip!

Yelp
This is a great date night spot! It's dimly light, romantic, and has an overall nice vibe for dinner. We got the burrata appetizer which was unique and delicious, it could've come with an extra piece or two of bread. For entrees, I got the pan roasted salmon which was delicious and I loved the pumpkin. My favorite thing ever was the side of whipped garlic potatoes, it was so smooth and delicious, the kind of item that I know i'll crave in the future. My partner got the steak frites and enjoyed it, particularly the chimichurri sauce. For drinks, we tried the clarified banana daiquiri (doesn't come frozen) and the tease and tingle. Out of the two, I preferred the tease and tingle. For $20 a cocktail, the clarified banana daquiri was very small. I was slightly disappointed that we couldn't order the winter chalet speciality drinks because we were dining indoors and those are only available in the outdoor area. I'm sure that's made clear on their website, but those drinks were something that drew me to the restaurant and I really wish I could've tried one. Overall, this is a good place to come on a special occasion, not somewhere I would come regularly.

Yelp
This spot is inside the Kimpton Hotel with an entrance from F St or 8th. The decor is dark and the place in general is darkly lit--not really my vibe but good for a cocktail bar / restaurant that wants to attract nightlife. My friend and I came for an early dinner. I wasn't terribly hungry so I ordered the sunchoke bisque with lobster and really enjoyed it -- would've loved more of the sunchoke chips bc they added a nice texture. None of the cocktails or desserts spoke to us. We ordered "off menu"--a Moscow mule and a French 75. Our waitress ended up bringing us two each (the latter for free)because the bartender misread the ticket and made more than one. That was a nice surprise!

Yelp
Food- fine Service- friendly enough Ambiance- ehh but I liked the fireplace Stopped by here for drinks w friends after the Downtown Holiday Market n was initially impressed. Cozied ourselves next to a fire pit n got truffle fries n a few drinks. Clientele here can be a bit snobby n since its mostly open seating in the courtyard some rather unwelcoming people came n sat next to us. We saw a rat scurrying around in the front as we left (I know it's DC and big cities have rats...I just don't want to see one making off w food from the same place I just ate at).

Yelp
As my boyfriend and I were driving up to DC on a Saturday, we were lucky to be able to secure a reservation at Dirty Habit for that evening. We had been to Dirty Habit before for drinks for a wedding reception but hadn't had a chance to enjoy the food. Luckily Open Table made it very easy for us to make last minute date night plans. We started out with a couple cocktails. My boyfriend got the Tease & Tingles, and I ordered the Flying Nimbus. The Tease & Tingles was unexpectedly presented in a very theatrical way. It was served inside of a lantern with string lights. It was a little on the sweet side with all the fruity components, but not a bad cocktail to just have one of. If there's an egg white cocktail on the menu, chances are I'm going to order it. I was a little hesitant when I saw there was passion fruit in it, but I still ended up going for it. I was pleasantly surprised that the passionfruit wasn't too pungent and it was overall a delightful cocktail. I appreciated the nod to Harry Potter, too.  Next we ordered an appetizer to share. After some deliberation we opted for the Dye-Aged Steak Tartare. I'm not sure I love it presented this way with the teff waffle on top. In my opinion, it makes it unnecessarily difficult to eat. However, the steak tartare was very nice and tender.  For our main entrees I ordered the duck and my boyfriend ordered the sea bass. We also shared some crispy brussel sprouts. The duck was cooked so perfectly. The meat was so tender and complimented well by the other sweet and salty components of the dish. I'm a big fan of olives, so I was very happy to have an abundance of them on the plate. The sauce that accompanied the sea bass had a kick to it. It was very similar to mole sauce. He enjoyed it thoroughly and cleaned his plate. We also enjoyed the brussel sprouts. They were just the right level of crispy. We enjoyed our date night at Dirty Habit, and I would recommend it if you're looking for something on the nicer end.

Yelp
Don't GO starting any @dirtyhabitdc UNLESS you are into that sort of thing?! Few weeks ago, a foodie friend, Larry invited me to check out this restaurant that's been high on my DC Foodie To Do List. We got a taste of their new seasonal menu, here's what we ate and drank. Dirty Habits New Fall Menu Drinks Cotton Candy Grapes $9.00 -- white tea | vanilla (non alcoholic) Friends with Benefits (drink experience salty and sweet) The drinks were really good, the nonalcoholic drink taste like pure cotton candy grapes and was delicious. And the Friends with benefits was a wonderful treat with a salty snack and a punch of a sweet alcoholic drink. Sides Charred Broccolini $12 Sunchoke Bisque $22.00 lobster | brown butter | fines herbs | sunchoke chip The side were good but the bisque was phenomenally delicious. Mains Pan Roasted Salmon $35.00 cavolo nero | yassa pumpkin | charred onion jus Steak Frites $48.00 grilled 8 oz hanger steak | chimichurri | french fries Braised Oxtail $23.00 butter beans | scotch bonnet | pickled beech mushrooms Out of the mains, I really loved the salmon and the oxtail. The steak was decent but a little over salted. It was a very pleasant experience, with a classic ambiance. It was very close to a Capital One Arena and art museum, so it's perfect for a date or before a concert or sports event.

Yelp
Ambiance was great - very cute. Service was fine. Minus stars for: -mouse running around the floor -twigs in huevos rancheros -mediocre food -overpriced food I do not suggest this place. It's very expensive and really not good. And there's a mouse.

Yelp
Dirty Habit is a hidden spot in the Kimpton Hotel right near Gallery Place. The interior decor is really nice and the sky light provides nice lighting when you head inside. I came in around 1 pm got lunch with a party of 7 and they placed us in their private room area. A great little space if you're looking to get together with friends for a happy hour or dinner. Our waitress was very funny and friendly. My only reservation about this place is the food. Maybe other items are better than what I got but the burger .... Was not it. Their burger included a sunny side egg and charcoal bread? The meat tasted ok. The bun was unfortunately a weird texture and hard in certain areas of the bun. I wonder if the bun got like this in the process of it turning black or if it was just old. Either way if I return I will not be ordering that again.

Yelp
We had a group dinner for about 16 people and our own room. The servers were all excellent and very attentive and pleasant. We began with a mixed greens salad that was very good. Choices for the entree were vegetarian ( roasted cauliflower), chicken breast, or short ribs. I opted for the chicken which was cooked perfectly. It as very moist and tender. It was accompanied by a baked sweet potato and risotto. All were delicious. The chef's choice for dessert was churros with a raspberry sauce. This restaurant is in the Kimpton Monaco Hotel and a real treat.

Yelp
Updated 3/5 to 1 star: we both got food poisoning :( and this is the only meal we shared. Original review 3/4: 5 stars Ok, this is definitely a fancy restaurant! It's inside a hotel (so it took a second to find but if you know to look for the Monaco, it's easy to find). The menu is thoughtfully crafted with unique options with a variety of flavor options (even with all the fun options, the mashed potatoes were definitely my favorite haha!!!). I can't say I've ever seen so many unique plates! The service was amazing. We went for a special occasion (birthday) and everyone was super nice and we got churros to celebrate! So yummy! There was one strange moment when someone (not our server) brought our check before we got to look at the dessert menu, but that seemed like a miscommunication. Also, there is no bathroom, you have to take the elevator up to the next floor to use the hotel bathroom - which is a bit of a trek... but it is a nice bathroom! Haha! I would recommend this place for special occasions - it's pricey but a great experience! Also, the tip is automatically included (22%) - but service is so great I had no problem with it.

Yelp
Came here with my boyfriend for Valentine's Day yesterday and it was okay. I have come here a handful of times, but it was always for a more celebratory reason (birthday celebration, NYE/NY celebration), so the vibrancy matched the energy of whatever was being celebrated. It was a PACKED house yesterday. Like overly packed. Like as if they didn't cap reservations packed lols it was too much. The waiters tried their best, and quality time with my hunny is always a win, but it was loud and a bit chaotic. If you're looking for a quiet intimate dinner with your significant other/date to be able to have conversation, I don't think this place is it. But if you're looking to catch a vibe with a fancy aesthetic, Dirty Habit is the place to be.

Yelp
Dirty Habit is a whole vibe. They have the DJ playing some great music and you have to go bottomless on the drinks. I'd recommend ordering the chicken & waffles, French toast, poke bowl, Dirty Habit burger, and the Birria Shakshouka. The chicken and waffles were the best I've had in the area. Each of the dishes were cooked perfectly. French toast was airy, shakshouka marinated well and the fried chicken was super crispy. My friends and I were here for almost 3 hours. The staff was so accommodating. Our drinks were constantly being refilled. We had a private room by the bar and with the sliding doors it adds some nice privacy. Don't forgot to take a pics at the lobby of the hotel. Highly recommend DH if you want a fun experience celebrating any occasion. I will definitely be back to try their happy hour and dinner specials.

Yelp
Like most DC places, overpriced for mediocre food. The environment is pretty and the staff was nice. However, I care more about flavor of food than aesthetic. I wished the food rose to the same level. Also, I was shocked to get the receipt and see $7 for a black cup of coffee at brunch.

Yelp
Two friends and I were staying at the Kimpton and wanted to grab a quick dinner so we headed into Dirty Habit. We sat at the bar area to eat- you have to order at the bar and most of the time your food is brought to your table. I decided to enjoy the Burrata appetizer- summer squash chutney, pickled blueberries, toasted sourdough, pepita seed dukkah. Holy smokes it was fantastic!!!! I honestly wished there was twice as much in the portion size because it was so tasty! One friend got the dirty habit burger with the charcoal bun. She really liked the burger but wasn't sold on the bun. The other friend got the sliders and a side of roasted broccolini. I love beef birria, but as I'm a spice wimp, I wasn't able to try them. My friend said they were delicious and definitely spicy.

Yelp
What a wonderful experience we had at the Dirty Habit. We started off with some wonderful cocktails - I had the friend with benefits (a type of old fashion in my opinion), we then switched to wine of course. We had some very tasty starters of Buratta and Brussels Sprouts. I had the salmon which melted in my mouth. Our friend had the Truffle Amish Chicken and my daughter had the Lobster Bisque abf Strak Tartare. Everything was amazing and the service perfect! What a great dinner!

Yelp
The ambiance at this place is absolutely fantastic! I mean, picture-perfect. And don't even get me started on the food, it's out of this world! Seriously, the flavors are just amazing. I personally went for the truffle chicken, and oh boy, it was like a party in my mouth! So tender, flavorful And the portion size? Perfect! You won't be leaving here hungry, that's for sure. Trust me, you won't regret trying this place out.

Yelp
Had a great experience here for brunch. Service was great and the bottomless drinks were flowing. Had the chicken and waffles which I definitely recommend!

Yelp
Date night or friends outing recommended. Okay first get reservations if you plan on having dinner. However I think this is a great place to also just have drinks and catch up with friends. This visit my date and I had a Brazino, asparagus and mash potatoes. We started with the beet salad. I love a good beet salad. Def will be back the next time I am in the area.

Yelp
Nested inside Hotel Monaco, Dirty Habit is an excellent restaurant choice for food lovers! We found the food creative and inspiring. The food was incredibly delicious. I had the best iced tea (Jasmine yuzu) ever! The potato bread is like the fluffiest bread - so buttery and pillowy. The ambiance is perfect for dates or friends gathering. They have individual rooms available for family gatherings and business meetings. The service was also excellent! Currently there's a good deal happening with restaurant week. You won't be disappointed here! We will be back!

Yelp
Great location, great food, and great drinks. Very picturesque and romantic with outdoor options. We will be back.

Yelp
I came in for the first time during a networking event and was veryyyyy please with the environment. I've passed by the place for years and wish I hadn't waited this long to try it. The staff was very kind...from the time I walked in the door until I left. The drinks were very STRONG so you get your moneys worth. I love the sexy indoor/outdoor vibes. The only negative is that your have to go back through the hotel lobby and upstairs to the 2nd floor just to use the restroom. I was not a fan of going all the way near the rooms just to potty. As a solo traveler, that would deter me from staying at Hotel Monaco.
google avatar

Yelp
Came here for brunch on a Saturday and were seated rather promptly. They have a pretty decent brunch menu with a little bit of everything so choosing was a little bit difficult but in a good way! Prior to coming, I was set on getting the French toast cause it looked so good but when I got the menu and saw the birria poached eggs my mind changed very quickly! The birria poached eggs were soooooo good. I didn't know what I was expecting but either way my expectations were met. It was your typical brothy birria soup with two poached eggs on top. It came with a side of breakfast potatoes that were perfect for eating alone or dipping into the sauce. I still wanted a sweet component for breakfast so I ordered some churros with it. There were like 6 of em so I think it's nice to share with the table as well.

Yelp
Visited Dirty Habit for restaurant week and to cash in on the by one get one free drink deal offered through Guide to Imbibe and it was great! I got the hamachi crudo, the oxtail, and the churros and was extremely happy with all of my choices. The portions for all 3 were substantial but not so much that I was uncomfortably full by the end of the meal. The ambiance here is really cool and we happened to go while it was snowing which made it even better! Do pay attention when paying your check though because there was an automatic 22% tip added!

Yelp
In between a dazzling performance at the Kennedy Center and dinner with friends, we stopped for cocktails at Dirty Habit, and so glad we did! First, the decor/vibe is super cool. Lots of dark woods, creative lighting, and out-of-the-box art like steampunk animals (say hi to the lion on your way in). We started out with the Tease & Tingle (Tapatio Blanco Infused Timut Pepper, Ancho Poblano, Watermelon & Red Dragon Fruit) for me and the Jinn & Juice (Wilde Irish Gin, Ford's Gin, Strawberry Rhubarb Shrub & Tonic) for him. My drink was fabulous: the watermelon was subtle and there was a lovely heat--the kind of thing that gets you at the back-end--and not too sweet. Lovely! The BF's cocktail was also terrific; the Irish gin was just a little peppery and a great combination with the rhubarb. As we sat and chatted, we took stock of the bottles behind the bar and noted that they were, in fact, WELL-stocked. So we had the bartender make a Corpse Reviver #2 (the BF's fave) and a Last Word for me. Both were beautifully made. Finally, we all know that service can make or break an experience. So let's talk about Walter, the absolutely kick-a** man behind the drinks described above. He. Is. Awesome. Not only does he mix a great cocktail, he's knowledgeable, funny, and a great conversationalist. We so enjoyed talking to him and he put what was already a superior evening right over the top. TL;DR: this place is great. Highly recommended!

Yelp
Stunning inside and out! I love their holiday decorations and themed drinks! If you're looking for an old money aesthetic then this is the place for you! Great places to get some cute Instagram pics and just right outside of the hotel is a holiday market! A fun date night I came here for an event and their servers were attentive at keeping the space clean!

Yelp
I think this place has a lot of potential! But it could be better! I really liked the menu. It had some great ideas! I also liked the ambiance. They have a great space. There is a lot of natural light and the glass house is surrounded by a big beautiful courtyard. Finally, the food was fine! I liked my food. The fries were great. However, it's clear they aren't prioritizing their lunch service. I didn't feel like there was enough staff to handle lunch. Our waiter (not his fault!) had a lot of ground to cover, and I wish the restaurant had more people dedicated to the lunch space. .

Yelp
This is my third time (officially a "habit") and I can safely say this is one of my favorite spots for fancy, after work drinks in DC. The interior space is gorgeous, with glass panels, dark and moody lighting, and sculptural elements on the walls and ceiling. Cocktails are pricey but excellently made. Service was impeccable. There's plenty of space to stand at the bar, but if you expect a seat - or want to nosh some food - a reservation is a must. I shared the scallops and a bottle of Agiorgitiko Greek wine with my colleagues this time. Both were very good. Enter through the alley off of 8th for full dramatic effect.

Yelp
You can never go wrong with any meal at Dirty Habit, but during this particular visit I was there for a late dinner. As always the service and menu options were top tier, but I felt as if the prices of some menu items were much higher than expected/necessary. I wanted to have an espresso martini with mezcal, and I was brought the menu and told I would have to pay the difference for the mezcal & asked to choose which one - and the menu options started at $25 for a shot!! Overall the food was great - especially for an Asian fusion restaurant. The menu is quite daring with a few of the selections which I love, but the popcorn on the ceviche was stale and unfortunately meant it wasn't such a great complement to the fish. The burger and truffle fries overall were tasty. My absolute favourite course was the Tuna not Tataki which was 10/10 with freshness and flavour.

Yelp
My friends and I decided to stop by after work for dinner. The restaurant was booked for the night; however, Shawn got my girls and I taken care of. The service was superb! I got the braised oxtail. It was yummy! I do wish it had a kick, but overall I would have it again.

Yelp
Idk why this places has bad reviews here and there b/c this place was such a good experience when I visited D.C. I don't know what the name of these drinks were but they were non-alcoholic but SO.. just SO good. The best that we ever drank. We went for brunch and they were on the bottom left of the menu so do check it out when you go!! There were like white grape and jasmine tea.. flavors as some of the options. Both dishes were so good as they were prepared so well and the ingredients meshed well together. Each bite was so flavorful and satisfying. The fries were also so good; we gobbled them up so fast! Lastly, the ambiance was the typical hotel restaurant/bar so it was a bit upscale and the service of course was absolutely phenomenal. I will definitely come back the next time I visit D.C.!!

Yelp
A colleague and I were enjoying the end of our business trip. A little shopping at Christmas Village followed by drinks at Dirty Habit. Craft cocktail menu was exceptional, and the holiday pop-up options were equally intriguing. As my colleague and I share similar taste in drinks, we each ordered drinks throughout the experience and shared six between us. I'll skip a review of the more common drinks we shared: Dirty Martini GG, Negroni. Instead I'll focus on the following: 1. Flying Nimbus - Absolut Elyx Vodka / Lillet / St. Germaine / Passionfruit / Egg White; Light and airy beverage with a slight sweet note. 4/5 stars 2. Fuji-La - Busnel Calvados / Pear Rakija / Pineapple Puree / Honey / Lemon / Tiki Bitters; colleague loved it but this wasn't for me. 2/5 3. Matcha Pisco - Macchu Pisco / Passionfruit Syrup / Lime / Matcha Green Tea; the only time I would say something was creamy but dry?? Kind of dig this one - an adventure. 3/5 4. Man Of Steel - Johnnie Walker Black / Buffalo Trace / Drambuie / Chocolate Cigar / Dehydrated Orange; 1000% YES!!!! Very good. 5/5 Pretty great service. Bartenders were attentive but not overly so. Great atmosphere.

Yelp
A year later and nothing's changed. Service is non existent. We had one round of drinks and the bar was still full, went to order a second round and thought it was acknowledged. Instead, at 10pm the lights came on and we were unceremoniously given our (overpriced) bill, no second round and sent on our way. Too bad because I love the hotel overall, but this is really ridiculous.

Yelp
Loved that we were able to ask for the private room for our party but service was pretty horrible. Never got water refills and they kept getting the drinks completely wrong. It took over 30 min to get a glass of wine and the place was EMPTY. Ambiance is fun and food is decent otherwise

Yelp
Stopped by after a busy day at work for a drink and dinner. I was really impressed with the overall ambiance- the restaurant is dark, moody, and mysterious, and I felt like being there was a little secret. It's probably not for everyone, because it's dark, but I really enjoyed it. I had a Wake and Bake Apple cocktail at the bar, which was beautifully presented but tasted mostly of alcohol. The bartender was hard at work the entire time, even though the bar was quiet, which was really impressive, and the bar was beautiful and clean as a result. My meal had some hits and misses- the candied butternut squash with the burrata was shockingly delicious, but the octopus in my entree wasn't well cooked. The highlight was the service- the server was quietly attentive- and the mushroom dessert, which looked very realistic and had a great set of fall flavors. It was a fun stop overall and would be great with a hot date.

Yelp
The dinner I had here was great. The steak frites were delicious. The steak was perfectly cooked and the fries were crispy. The salmon also was good and had a nice sear. The cocktails were well made and the espresso and churros for dessert was a perfect way to end the meal. The service was good and I loved the vibe of the restaurant, edgy and modern.

Yelp
I planned a date day for my Wife and I and stumbled on Dirty Habit on Instagram bc my Wife saw their pot roast, or something and decided she needed to have it. I'm never in DC but I'm always down for an adventure. Dirty Habit it is. I was expecting more of a restaurant vibe but felt more like it was a bar, and that's on me. That said, for what it was, we had a good time. I would be super disrespectful, and doing Dirty Habit a major disservice if I went any further without addressing the elephant in the room. Their French Onion soup is the best I've ever had - the end. It has beef in it, noodles, delicious cheese and broth. It was the perfect food. My risotto was good but underwhelming after the experience I had with my soup. My Wife enjoyed her Streak Fritz. All in all I enjoyed myself. I was just looking for a different vibe than what Dirty Habit offers and that's nothing that they did wrong.

Yelp
Dirty Habit is an elegant, cozy place for brunch! Perfect for a ladies brunch or cute date night! This restaurant is located within a fancy hotel with a beautiful lobby perfect for your social media pics, which me and the girls took advantage of! Now let's get down to business. I will share with you my pros and cons. Pros: 1. Excellent Service! Our server Jersey was super sweet. She let us know her recommendations and the changes on the menu. Our food came out really quickly and there was no wait! 2. Delicious food- I ordered The Monaco, which encompassed potatoes, eggs, turkey bacon, and toast. The eggs were so fresh and the potatoes were seasoned to perfection! I highly recommend the dish. Others at the table had waffles and they swear they are amazing! Also, the drinks are great. Shout out to the bartender! 3. Atmosphere - If you are looking for a quaint, classy brunch. This is the place for you. The decor was beautiful and it made you feel so comfortable. Cons 1. Parking- While this isn't directly related to the restaurant. It will impact your experience. Street parking is hard to come by and the garages are expensive. 2. Prices - While some may think the prices are comparable to other DC restaurants, I find this place to be on the more expensive side in relation to what you get. While the food and drinks are delicious, I'm unsure if it is worth the price. 3. Restroom location - Since Dirty Habit is in a hotel. You have to go upstairs to use the restroom in the hotel. This is inconvenient and ultimately was the main reason for me giving 4 instead of 5. Overall, I highly recommend this place. I will have to go check it out for dinner another time. Let me know if you visit and what you think!
