Where to Find the Best Locally Made THC Drinks in the Twin Cities | Eater Twin Cities

"Acre, made at 56 Brewing, offers THC seltzers in flavors of ginger-lime, peach white tea, and hibiscus-berry, which balance 10 milligrams of THC with 10 milligrams of CBD. The beverages are available for both onsite consumption or to-go, but 56 Brewing doesn’t allow customers to order both alcohol and THC, so plan to stick with one for the evening." - Ryan Meaney

How could I have not reviewed this place yet? Been going here weekly since they weren’t here but over behind there. You know what I mean. The beer is consistently excellent. There have been a few whoops beers that I didn’t care for, but that’s just my tastes buds fault I guess. Flagship beers are the hazy and hoppy ‘sippi squeeze and the crisp crispy business. Also they have a gosh darn happy hour! A happy hour in this day and age, you say? Yes way, I say! $5 weekdays 4-6. Thank god there is still a business in Minneapolis that has the guts to serve $5 beers. If you don’t go the 56 you are really missing out. Their patio faces the sunset and is shaded by a huge beautiful cottonwood. The side deck faces a giant community garden. Truly a great spot. The staff are the coolest. They treat you like a friend; sometimes they laugh with you and sometimes they laugh at you. 😁

Google
This is the best beer place. They have it all, especially beer. One time I got married here, and it was the best wedding. My mom even said so. If you like beer and great people you will probably have a good time at 56.

Lee Witte

Google
4.5 stars feels about right. Cool friendly vibe. Lots of indoor seating with a variety of areas to sit. Live the view of the brewing equipment. Pinball machines. A modest size beer garden.

Bradley Lewis

Google
Really cool place. Good selection of brews. Today they had bands playing through out the day and into this evening. A few food trucks for the hungry. Dancing,Brew & Food. Good time.

Google
56 Brewing - nice location, plenty of outdoors space for a day in the 70s, interior has pinball machines, a band area, and plenty of seating. The service was helpful and friendly.

Google
We reserved the Mezzanine room for a 56th birthday party and the experience exceeded our expectations. The bartenders were incredibly friendly and accommodating. Our guests loved their experience as did we. If you are not into beer, try the Paloma Seltzer - delicious!

Google
We hosted our wedding reception in the Barrel Room and it was the best experience! We originally fell in love with the natural charm this room had, so we didn't need to provide much more for decoration (and the pinball was a hit!). All the staff were super helpful with technical issues, ensuring we had adequate tables, and quick with drink orders. I would definitely choose to host another party here, and I keep reliving our reception night like it was yesterday. Nothing but the best praise for the staff as they were open for regular business during our rental time. You all were amazing and we appreciate everything you did for us! We'll be back very soon!

Google
It was so much fun with All attending in good spirits! Sara, the instructor, and the team kept things lively and upbeat. The venue was nice, and the painting itself was awesome! We thoroughly enjoyed it!

Yelp
All right. Review # 500 I believe. Been saving this place to review just for this occasion. I first started coming here when they were in their original location off of California, just south of the Parkway. A small humble place with a single pisser and a crumbling parking lot. 612 started there, then 56, and then Broken Clock. My favorite of the 3 is easily 56 Brewing. I'm a fan of the barrel aged brews and this they do well. In regards to other beers, see other reviews. One of the great things that I like is Dad's Basement Beer. It's an easy sipping beer, not so high octane like you see at other places. I'm here multiple times a month as the beers and vibe of the place are decent. But the big draw for me is pinball and I love that they allow Darryl Anderson a place to have his machines. My boy Tone Job and I are regulars. So much so that Tone even made the tables for in between the machines so you have a place to set your beer when you're playing. He even took care in making them reflective of the brewery decor too (he also made the ones at Falling Knife & Broken Clock). My favorite thing about this place? Thursday's when the W.E. Collective (Will Evans) is jamming. His music is so good and just adds to the pinball vibe. My wife and I even had our wedding reception here in the fall of 2023. It was so much fun. The staff helped us coordinate with a tent company and our food that we had catered. We wanted a casual, social event for our reception, and 56 Brewing delivered. You really need to check their calendar to see what is going on as there is so much that happens. From Vikes games, the occasional opera, stand up, paint your plate events, food trucks and more. 56 is really one of my favorite venues.

Yelp
The aesthetic and vibe of this place was top tier! They had a ton of seating in 3 different rooms, and a patio with yard games! It was tucked away in Northeast Minneapolis. You will likely have to street park - heads up! I had a strawberry kolsch - it was enjoyable! They had a good selection of taps and cans - lots of fun flavors like a coffee flavored beer and a passion fruit sour. Something for every beer lover! I didn't check if they had a kitchen... There was quite the selection of snacky foods like pretzels. The staff was friendly and relatively quick! It was busy but not overcrowded on a Tuesday night, so my guess is the locals love this place. My only feedback is get some better board games haha. Worth a visit for sure - especially if there's nice weather!

Yelp
We were excited to check out this brewery on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. My hubby was impressed with the beer and I was highly impressed with the sour raspberry seltzer...probably one of the best seltzers I've ever had. Lots of indoor seating and some of the cleanest/nicest bathrooms I've seen at a brewery. In addition to normal brewery activities...They had some Girl Scouts selling cookies and a dog rescue/adoption event all day!

Yelp
This was a really nice space. The bartenders were quick and helpful with questions. The beer was good. There was plenty of seating.

Yelp
Is there a patio? ++ CHECK! It's small, but mighty. Post pandemic, it seems to have been expanded to take up a portion of the parking lot. Are they dog friendly? ++ CHECK! I can say I made some new furry friends on their patio during my visit. Delicious rotating list of craft beers? ++ CHECK! Seriously, get the Raspberry Lemonade Sour if they have it. It's the perfect patio crusher for a hot summer day. Their taps appear to rotate pretty regularly, which I love. Variety is the spice of life, after all. Food trucks for all your noshable needs? ++ CHECK! A full listing of the trucks serving up their curbside cuisine is available on their website. Do they have events? ++ CHECK! Their website has a complete rundown of all the taproom happenings including trivia, live music, and more! Def check it out. Heading back to the 'burbs, my bestie and I stopped by to grab a pint, and we were not disappointed. The brews were great, the service was friendly, and the vibe was on point. I'll def make my way back during a future visit to Minnesota. Cheers, Minneapolis!!

Yelp
Popped in a few weeks ago for a beer release. They have an event space off to the left when you walk in. The space is really bright and I appreciated there were a couple few bathrooms in the space so you wouldn't have to go out in to the tap room. The beers were delicious and the staff were friendly. They have a tiny parking lot but there is plenty of street parking. Thanks 56 for delicious beers, cheers!

Yelp
One of my favorite MN breweries! They have plenty of room and have a nice outdoor patio area. They have a nice little area that has pinball machines, great to keep the kiddos entertained! I had the Kolsch, it was hoppy with great flavor. They do offer samples so you can make sure to get what you want. The bar tenders are very knowledgeable, they have a passion for beer. Parking is small but there's plenty of street parking.

Yelp
On a hot 99 degree Minnesota day I ventured into 56 Brewing for a flight of beer. The patio is large and welcoming, but was a bit too balmy to enjoy the sun. Inside there are two seating areas in addition to the bar. I took a seat at the bar, ordered my flight, and enjoyed some conversations with those around me. Can We Do A Lager: A Maibock made in collaboration with Elm Creek. In addition to following the traditional brewing style of a Maibock, they dry hopped with Mandarina Bavaria and Loral to make the hop character really pop. Citrus and earthy hop aromas and flavors are bright and cut the malt richness. "Twenty-Twenty-Sue" Blackberry Mango Sour: A sour with Mango and Blackberry. Medium tartness and medium-low acidity that provides the blackberry and mango fruits to show the Minnesota heat some tropical vibes. Epic Duel Sultana: A double dry hopped Double IPA with a single hop, Sultana. This beer is part of the Epic Duel series which explores the aromas and flavors of hop varietals. For those that know Sultana, it's a beast of a hop plant. Huge hop cones and sky high levels of hop oils. I get a lot of pineapple, pine and bright citrus. Big Minne: A Double IPA pumped up with Amarillo, Simcoe, and Centennial Hops. Medium high bitterness with fresh tropical fruit and citrus that cuts through some of the bitterness. A classic DIPA of some of the OG hops.

Yelp
56 has become one of my favorite tap rooms in the city. It's tucked away off Marshall and feels quiet and peaceful, especially outside. I love that you can see the community garden next door. I like most of their beers. My favorite is probably the Sippi Squeeze. I also enjoy their selection of THC and CBD seltzers. They always have a food truck that rarely disappoints. And of course, plentiful dogs. The best part.
google avatar

Shaji K.

Yelp
Learned about this particular brewery from some other beer patrons. Thursday night, plenty of people at the bar but not overly crowded. Ordered the "Hop Girl Summer" ($7 for a pint) - a lighter IPA with a clean taste and a crisp finish. Nothing too special here but easy to finish or to pair with some food. They do have snacks available as there wasn't a food truck outside that night. The super dog-friendly atmosphere is a plus, as there were a few four-legged friends around. Good taproom as any in the area.

Yelp
I would def come back here again as they offer some great beer and there was a live band and live art painting in the side room. This place is very large and can accommodate many people. They also have a nice outdoor patio. The parking lot was pretty small, however there is plenty of street parking. They allow dogs to come in also. I had the sour and it was a little on the funky side, but still good. If I have more time, I'd like to try many more flavors as I've heard they have a great selection. They also have an arcade pinball area where the band was playing, so they have plenty of entertainment.

Yelp
Nice and comfy atmosphere as long as you like the high stools and tables. It was very quiet , especially inside, so service was quick and friendly. I had the cherry kombucha and enjoyed it.

Yelp
I discovered 56 Brewing and found a new spot to love. Parking in the lot is limited, but the street parking is plentiful. We entered and were greeted immediately with the bar, full menu, and one of the most friendly and engaging bartenders I've come across in a brewery in a long time. Maybe ever. In fact, it's worth explaining: so... one of the things I love about local craft breweries, is the unique flavors and styles of the brewmasters. I'm usually presented with a wide menu, often highlighting interesting beer names. But seriously, where do I begin? What's the specialty? What's the brewmaster's signature? Hoppy? Bitter? Smooth? Do they have my typical go-to, a nut brown ale? Anything resembling a Guinness? With all these questions hitting me almost every time I visit a brewery for the very first time, I need a minute, I'd like some tips, I appreciate some sample sips. Rarely are all of these offered graciously. Asking for a taste is often met with that look that I've already overstayed my welcome and I've only been here 2 minutes. ANYWAY... my first experience at 56 Brewing was awesome. The bartender greeted us with a genuinely cheerful hello, asked if we've ever been here before; immediately started helping with the menu. He asked about our pallets and what we typically like in a beer. He pointed out their beers that closely resembled our likes and offered samples -- before we even asked. He poured us three samples. Wait... there's only two of us... the bartender sampled along with us as we all analyzed the flavors together. I've never had this happen before and I must say, was pretty cool. Sample #1 and I knew my beer of choice. It took two more samples to finalize our order and start the tab. We found a table in the back of the larger room, near a stage that had 'live music' and 'fun events' written all over it. On this particular early Saturday afternoon it was quiet, which was perfect for us. A couple beers later, the place had really picked up and was pretty hoppin. I understand why! I can't wait to come back! I love 56 Brewing and think you will too. Until next time...

Yelp
Fantastic brewery with great service and ambiance. The food truck is always on point. I will gladly make this one of my NE rotations.

Yelp
One of the few (if not only?) Twin Cities breweries that has a dart board. Also some good pinball tables.

Yelp
This was a really nicely decorated brewery! The lighting and decor were stunning. Upon arriving, there is a small parking lot and ample street parking... I went on a Thursday at 4pm, but I can't imagine a busy Friday night. They were supposed to have Que Tal food truck at 4pm and we were really looking forward to it, but they weren't there by 5:15pm. Such a bummer! Only food trucks and we needed food to drink more beer. They do sell Von Hanson's flavored pretzels, but we wanted more than that. There are a few restaurants a mile or more away, but nothing super close. The beers we tried were pretty tasty though. We bellied up to the bar and realized really quickly that the bar stools were pretty, but not comfortable for sitting for an hour, but at least the beer was good. Beer- My favorite was the Raspberry Berliner Weisse (sour). It had a beautiful fresh raspberry flavor and reminded me of a raspberry lemonade. Yum! NE Nectar was an easy drinking wheat beer, but it was too plain for my liking. Nothing assertive or bold, so many would enjoy. Overall a nice place to stop for happy hour! They have clean restrooms and an arcade. Until next time!

Yelp
Found this little gem with some of our friends and we are so glad they told us about it. We have never heard of it or would think to hunt it down if it weren't for them. It's spacious, bright, they accept dogs, and they have a food truck outside. Pretty easy to find a parking spot on the street as well! It's also on the northern ale guide so we got a stamp in our book for a BOGO beer. They have a wide variety of brews. We enjoyed the Mississippi and the Mexican coffee beer - both were great. The coffee beer reigns and had such a good smell and taste to it. Might be a new favorite of mine. Activities for everyone and staff is polite. We will be back here and will be telling everyone about it!

Yelp
Great neighborhood brew pub in Northeast Minneapolis. It is not a large indoor space but there is huge outdoor deck and tables in an upstairs loft area. The weather was not good so no outside drinking for us on the day we stopped in. They have a large selection of beer that includes IPAs, Pilsner, lager, etc. We tried a sampler that included a few hazy IPAs and the Helles lager. You get four beers in the sampler. All were well made and the Helles is the star. We tried a couple of pints after the sampler. The staff is friendly and offers suggestions- much appreciated! The Sunday we were there they had the Vikings game on the one TV. Not too crowded and the noise level was no problem at all. We definitely want to come back and enjoy the outdoor deck. It looks like the neighborhood or the city has taken the adjoining lot and created a park. It is a veritable forest with all the trees they have planted. 56 Brewing is a great addition to the neighborhood.
google avatar

Jason K.

Yelp
It got all the way up to 41 in March in Minnesota, so my wife made a lunch and we drove up to Northeast Minneapolis. I tried 2 of their IPAs and they were both very good and I also brought an empty growler and had it filled. Super nice bartenders and I got some free stickers and the patio was well spaced out and had heaters. It was quite pleasant. They were very dog friendly and about half the patrons had dogs. A really great tap room!
google avatar

Andrew B.

Yelp
Would not recommend. The beer is mediocre. They allow groups of people to rent out their upper level, not leaving notification that it is "reserved". After how the group talked to my son, so rudely that we shut off the pinball machine and left, I doubt we'll ever return
google avatar

Sue S.

Yelp
I hate when new breweries open without me knowing, lol. It took us awhile to get over here, but I'm glad we did. 56 is kind of tucked away but has its own parking lot plus street parking and has really great atmosphere once you get inside. It's relaxed with a kind of wood industrial vibe without overindexing and being TOO industrial. I really dug the map art installation on the one wall by the little stage. There was no entertainment the day we were there but could see it being a great place to have some beers and listen to some music. The beer I had was good - I can't remember what it was. But a fruit flavored wit or weiss I think. Very good. Service was perfect. We will be back.

Yelp
56 Brewing is one is my favorite breweries! The bartenders are nice and friendly. I love their Raspberry Berliner Weiss, it's my favorite sour! It's a huge plus that they are dog friendly indoors and outdoors, my dog loves it too! Every time I visit, there usually are a handful of dogs. It's a fun atmosphere! There is plenty of free street parking, I've never had trouble finding a spot. Their main seating area has a few high tops and a few longer tables. The barrel room to the left of the bar is pretty spacious and has another 5-6 tables. The loft area upstairs my favorite. It's small but more intimate. There are a few board games up there too, but they're pretty old looking and worn out. I also sometimes go to their Trivia Mafia night on Wednesdays. It's gets pretty busy then, so I suggest going early to snag a seat!
google avatar

Molly M.

Yelp
IPAs, Darks, Ambers, Pils, Lagers - they brew them all! And make their own kombucha as well! Interesting brews! Dog friendly! Kid friendly! Glam Doll Donuts were available at the bar! The patio area was wonderful (with the exception of a smoker on the deck). We loved this small, intimate fun spot in NE!
google avatar

Stacey D.

Yelp
Cheers for patios in the middle of winter! Covid has forced businesses to become Creative with how to get people in and still keep people safe so I am grateful that they have made the patio available for us! They do walk in seating but so far we have good luck with getting seated. They have a wider selection of beers to pick from ranging from Sours to IPAs to stouts. Overall the beer is pretty good. I usually stick to the sours when I am here and haven't been disappointed. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating. The brewery has always been clean and the staff helpful when you just don't know what to order. Parking lot out front along with street parking as well.
google avatar

Yelp
The beer selection at this brewery is really good. If you like dark beers, this is the place to go. I love the non corporate feel to this place. Knowing that this place is run by five very hard working entrepreneurs, it really makes me want to keep supporting this local business and you should too. You won't be disappointed. If you look at my photo, the nitro beer was poured to perfection. He was patient and the head at the rim of the glass was almost perfect. Listen, I accompany my husband on his beer stops often and I can confirm that there are many bartenders at different breweries that don't pour their nitro beer to the rim because they don't have the patience or they just don't care. This brewery is clean, they welcome pets and the deco is beautiful. They allow you to bring in your own food. The woodwork in this place is amazing and done with heart! There is a social area that was build beautifully on top of the bar. The builder told us that you could literally land a helicopter on it. The MN map wood wall deco is amazing. Be sure to look to your left when you walk through the entrance. They have weekly events such as DJ spin night, trivia nights etc. Their first year anniversary is on May 5 2018. There will be a party and lots of activities that day, so do stop by and check this place out yourself.
google avatar

Immaculate I.

Yelp
It was so difficult to find the entrance! Parking is kinda all over the place which is perfect for people who can never stay between the lines anyway. Walked in on a cold Saturday winter afternoon. Groupon led us to this place. I love beer tasting. We were greeted immediately and started sampling as soon as we showed our IDs. I loved their NE nectar and got a growler. It's a cool spot. They are an off-sale brewery so they cannot serve you pints. If you have a problem with standing around and tasting beer, don't go here. If you're looking for some great tasting locally brewed IPAs, Ales, and lagers, this is for you.

Yelp
Tiny brewery on the northeastern edge of Northeast Minneapolis. Chill owners and down to earth folks running the place. Skip the kombucha but you already knew that. Dark Territory (esp with mint) still my favorite at this local brewery. Liking their new Batch 56 and the 5 hop Nose Hairbender. Love their new location and now open 7 days a week! I hope they continue to grow and do well. PS: Just witnessed some patrons backing into Kale's nice 56 Brewing vintage truck the other day.

Yelp
One of my favorite breweries I've been to in the cities. We finally had a nice spring day and I was looking for somewhere to have a beer on a patio. This brewery turned out to be perfect. I had two beers while I was there. The solorama crush IPA was great. It was smooth, hoppy, and had a subtle honey flavor that complemented the bitterness from the hops. I also has the citrafication triple IPA and man, is it dangerous. Strong citrus flavors and smooth hops made this a great beer to have on the patio. Fair warning, the 12% ABV will creep up on you. 56 also has a great patio with plenty of seating and great atmosphere. Everyone was very friendly and there was plenty of pups for my dog to play with while we hungout. Overall a great place to grab an awesome beer and get out of downtown! I'll definitely be going back.
google avatar

Kelly M.

Yelp
Stopped in for a beer last night courtesy of sidewalk dog and their passport program. They're dog friendly inside and out. It was a Tuesday night so it was pretty quiet, but they had a dj there so the vibe was perfect. They didn't have food (just a couple snacks) which was fine with us. The staff was amazingly friendly, the environment clean. The beers were great! I'd go back again!

Yelp
Visiting from out of town, my friends and I got to hit up several breweries in the Minneapolis area. 56 Brewing came up as a last stop of the night, after everyone had already had a few. Being that is was close to closing time we were able to get a seat at the bar. The bartender was attentive and quickly got our orders. I went with a flight of several IPA's and was impressed with most of them. The coffee IPA was the most interesting. I don't think I've ever had that combination before and was glad I tried it. They seem to have above average over all beer and the bar setting is cozy with a casual ambience perfect for hanging out with friends. When I come back to Minnesota I'll would come back here, before last call this time!

Yelp
4/29/17 - Yay!!! The soft opening of the new taproom is today and I was able to stop and see it. See photos - nice space. Not much parking available on site. But, lots of street parking available. So, no issue there. Nothing extravagant. But, I like this space. Open feeling. Nice, but small outdoor seating area. Easily correctable, when this brewery becomes super popular. A park is right across the street. See photo of beer choices (at least for today). I had the the California Street IPA. Really good. If you don't know - this was the street for the original brewery. It was an 'adventure' to get there as my original review describes. Finding this location is a breeze. I will definitely be back and I recommend you stop by too.

Yelp
Nice quiet location. Beautiful wood tables and decorations on the wall. Where are you working now if not at great beers had the doubt full mouth feel warm body..... Thats my voice to text review apparently:-)

Yelp
Friendly neighborhood brewery offering a nice selection of beers. Try interesting coffee IPA, the honey wheat ale that tastes like Honey Nut Cheerios, and the hazy IPAs. Over the year+ that I've tried their brews, the consistency and quality has seemed to improve. The small patio is nice for groups during the summer.
google avatar

Lynn L.

Yelp
They have a long list of beers they make, and the two we tried were really good! bartenders were helpful and friendly. There are a variety of seating options from the bar and low- and high-tops in the main area, to a loft with bench seating and pinball games, to and outdoor patio. We'll definitely be back!

Yelp
Overall: 4.5 stars rounded up to 5 Ambience: 5 stars Love the laid-back location and layout. Close enough to me with a neighborhood feel, easy parking, outside deck, and upper interior story for gamers (board, that is). Drink: 4.5 stars have tried most, but tonight tried the Barrel-Aged Darker Territory, Citrus Hazy, and UFO. Mostly an IPA girl, but really liked the debut of the Darker Territory. Kind of tasted like a Mounds bar. I haven't tried the Walnut Joy- but guessing it tastes like Al one Joy. Always like the beer I get here, even if I may not seek it out, always enjoyable! Service:4.5 stars Very good. Bathrooms: 4.5 stars Clean & conveniently located on the first floor beyond the bar.

Yelp
Glad I waited to rate this place. First time we went there (approximately a month after the taproom opened), my wife and I dumped our beers out. It was busy and rather than talking to someone about it, I figured I would give them another chance later (hell, I gave 612Brew about 5 chances). This taproom is on the smallish side, but that is fine, the beer is the star. They make some of the best IPA's around. The entire lineup is always solid, no matter what I am in the mood for. We discovered the upstairs area in the taproom as well, which my daughter has always enjoyed with the pinball and other games.

Yelp
Hubs and I came here on a Saturday night. It was hopping, but service was great. The ladies behind the bar were very sociable and gave great recommendations. The beers were good, specifically the Nosehair Bender. Winner. The atmosphere is what will definitely bring us back. A room off to the side had the industrial look and was big and open. Upstairs was a cozy area with couches and games. We loved sitting there enjoying our beers and playing games. You have to try this place!
google avatar

Leah S.

Yelp
This place is the best! Great beer, great atmosphere! They have a great patio for when the weather is nice, and when it's not, they have plenty of room inside including areas for kids to play. Furry kids are welcome too! They generally have a food truck for you as well! All of their beers are tasty and they do flights, but I highly recommend the Mississippi squeeze IPA!

Yelp
This was a second stop after going to Broken Clock just a few blocks away. I really wanted to like the place considering I was immediately seduced by their setup, decor and ambiance. Nice patio to chill with plenty of trees around, that funny game with the ring hanging from a chord that you have to get in the hook (forgive my ignorance, not from around here). Even the smell was right (I know, weird, I'm a scent guy and immediately decide if I like a place or not the minute I walk in by the smell). Anywho, we got 8 of their 13 beers in a flight and sadly just one kind of tingled my taste buds (the IPA + coffee, interesting combo). The rest were mildly uninteresting... my thought is they need to cut the number of options in half and focus on beer quality rather than quantity. Too bad because it's on the way home from work so I really wanted to like it but it's just not there. I'll give it a shot in a few months see if they've gotten better.

Yelp
This was a fun discovery in the outskirts of Nordeast. I'm a Coors Light beer drinker so breweries aren't my deal but we came here for the infamous pinball machine our friends discovered the previous week. Rudy's Funhouse is a legendary pinball machine and it's here!!! They have a few machines that are fun, nice deck area overlooking a community garden which is very nice. It is also a dog friendly place so feel free to bring your pooch and they have water dishes provided. My husband liked the couple beers he tried and the staff was very nice.

Yelp
If you are from a small town like I am where drinking beer from a garage is the usual then this will feel right at home for you. So first you have to find it...which can pose as a challenge. I came in a weird way and had zero idea where I was....turns out you aren't all that far from Marshall Ave NW-Betty Dangers, Psycho Suzi's etc. But you go through a lot of warehouse buildings and there are some signs but they are small, then your GPS says you are there and you just aren't sure where "there" is exactly. Even though there is a sign on the door their name is "56" so the sign isn't too big or eye catching. I loved it. It was like I was on a scavenger hunt and I had just won the prize....beer. So i walked in and it's a small place with friendly people working and a few other couples were having tastings. The other people are right next to you so it feels like a little intimate garage party. No chairs, no need to sit really. So I was under the impression this brewery was a standard brewery but turns out it is an off-sale brewery meaning you can't get a pint (hence the no need for chairs) but you can do tastings and buy growlers. They have some cool deals where you can do a tasting of all of their beers, get a pint glass to take home, and a growler for 35(ish).00. They are opening a new location where you will be able to purchase glasses of beer soon and their plan for their new location looks wonderful. The lady working was so pleasant to talk to and told us all about their new plans. I am excited for it to open because I would love to sit down and drink their beer because it was so good! My drinking partner loved the APA because it was so caramel-y and different. I loved the California Street IPA (go figure, IPA's and me are besties for life). Together our favorite was the Dark Territory and we ended up taking a growler of that home and enjoying it. Overall, 56 was so different than I was expecting. We left saying "huh, interesting" as it is unlike other breweries you will go to in the area, but I liked it. I mean if you are lucky enough to succeed in the scavenger hunt called "Find my way to 56 brew" then you are in for a real treat.

Yelp
This was one of my favorite breweries. I love the beer and normally the service is excellent. I have spread my love for this brewery to friends who now come here. However, I am left feeling disappointed tonight. I came here solely to get a crawler or growler. I decided to order a quick beer since I was here anyway. The employee said he couldn't sell a growler/crowler after 10:00 pm. I looked at my phone and it was 10:02. I commend him for being very compliant to state law. But I am bummed I didn't get my order in two minutes sooner...service is everything. Being in the service industry for most of my adult life, I thought it was pretty shitty. But to each their own.

Yelp
The flights offered a great variety of their offering. The music was way too loud for early in the evening. I was unable to have a conversation with my husband.

Yelp
This brewery has definitely a warehouse feel and has a nice patio to the front and side. Lots of seating - main floor and upstairs and an arcade. Depending on when you go, they had a ton of IPAs (I'm not a huge IPA fan). They had an awesome raspberry wheat sour too. I definitely will be back!

Yelp
Beer is great and jazz on Sunday afternoons is not to be missed. Cute dogs abound. Particularly loved the Walnut Joy and Pineapple Upside-Down cake. Also fun to try the two hazy IPA's brewed with a different set of hops.

Yelp
They have great beer, chill environment, friendly workers, and pinball machines so what's not to love?! Love the atmosphere and the giant Minnesota cut-out. Respects and promotes history of the area.

Yelp
This 5 star dog friendly brew pub has now become a 2 star over crowed bar. Used to have space for a dog to lay down now they have added oversized tables to seat 10 in a space that now feels much like a church basement pancake breakfast instead of a brew pub where people go to relax and enjoy really good beer. This upgrade makes it difficult to take any dog larger than a rat terrier and have space to lay down an not be in a isle surrounded by chairs. Still enjoy the beer but taking off my list of "dog friendly" good beer places.

Yelp
I still haven't quite decided how I feel about 56. I really want to like them more than three stars, but I just can't quite do it. On one hand (we'll start with the positives) THEY ARE SO DOG FRIENDLY! Not only did pup get to join us, but he also got to get spoiled rotten. One of the owners uses the spent hops to make dog treats. Idk. Tyson says they're delicious. Further, the only beer I found un-drinkable was the lager, but I find most lagers undrinkable so I can't really blame them for that. They sell itty bitty 750ml growlers. Perfect for those afternoons that no one wants to share with you and you don't want to try to drink a gallon of a stout. I will legit probably return just for this purpose. My beef comes in where the ambiance is concerned. There weren't many people there when we were there, but there still wasn't anywhere to be. There's counter space for about six people to stand. I think there was a seating area off to the side, but they can't sell pints because of some licensing technicality so what're you going to do? Walk away from the bar with your little tasting glass? It stinks because it's really not their fault, just a matter of timing. But it would be significantly nicer to be able to sit and relax. It'll certainly be interesting to see how this place develops over the next year.
