5th Street Diner

Great breakfast spot in the heart of downtown. The place does look like an actual diner and they make some of the food near the counter for all to see. We got the Brisket Hash and Steak & Eggs. Brisket is okay though I like it more soft. The steak was awesome but just too few slices (4 pieces). The potatoes are great though I do prefer more dry crispy ones which I can dip them into the egg yolk. Overall, good but too pricey for what is given

It’s okay. My friend had credit from staying at the hotel so we decided to try this place. It’s got a very trendy ambiance. The menu options are a bit limited, but they do have all of the major breakfast items. They do not have fresh squeezed juice. Our food was really mediocre. The eggs Benedict did not have much flavor to them. Overall the food was very basic. The prices are very reasonable.

Cool, classic diner. Great server. Smash burger had great flavor but was so salty I couldn’t finish it, I mean I think they accidentally spilled the salt shaker. Classic omelet ok. Ate here again the next morning and the breakfast was great. Eggs Benedict amazing and classic breakfast did not disappoint. Eggs, bacon, pork sausage and has brown potatoes very good.

Visiting Austin for work, came across this awesome breakfast place. ABSOLUTELY WORTH IT We had breakfast TWICE, had four different dishes. Sharing a picture of my 2nd breakfast the second day.

Great breakfast!! I had the smoked brisket hash. Very flavorful and filling. I just happened upon this restaurant across from the Westin. They are a bit pricey for breakfast, but will worth it as my last meal in Austin. Well done!!

Nice change from the Grey. The receptionist was extremely friendly to our deaf pup. The menu has been updated, we noticed the Hanger Steak was added. The steak was tender and my wife enjoyed it (shssh, better than The LandRace). I had the classic breakfast, bacon was thick cut but it was pretty crispy! We had our order to go upto our room. Good start!

Took 30 minutes to be seated because the host forgot about us, we only got a seat when we came back in to check for bar seating and saw the place half empty. We ordered a cold brew and a drip coffee. It took 15 minutes to get the cold brew and any sugars or cream. The cold brew taste like it was just hot coffee poured over ice. For food we got the green eggs and ham, eggs were overdone but the ham was cold. Gem salad is the side for that and it’s not listed on the menu but it’s just iceberg lettuce with a few half baby tomatoes and some onion. Breakfast Sandi was alright, seems to be an egg from a carton and it’s not very much. In our visit to Austin this was by far the worst food place we’ve visited. The food was mediocre and expensive and the service was awful.
