Soylent Not Just for Tech Bros Now, Says Soylent | Eater

"This convenience-store chain has started stocking a once online-only drinkable meal replacement, rolling it out from select West Coast locations last year to about 300 stores in the New York City area, greatly increasing retail accessibility. The move is intended to position the product as a quick, healthier alternative to traditional fast-food lunches and to reach a broader, mass-market customer base beyond its early tech-focused devotees. The brick-and-mortar expansion contrasts with the product’s aspirational social-media branding, and although it's unclear whether New Yorkers will swap burgers and fries for the bottled substitute, earlier reports of serious gastrointestinal side effects appear to have subsided." - Whitney Filloon

I prefer this location on 8th as I find it cleaner and less crowded than some others. The staff is friendly, and the hot food selection is decent for what it is.

The cups are behind the register. But often they don’t have cups. When they have cups, the machines are broken. This 7-Eleven is so precariously duct-taped together. I but no matter what, they always have those horrifying hot dogs rolling under a heat lamp.

This has to be the worst 7/11 in the entire franchise. Its like they have a partnership with the homeless/crackheads that are in there every hour of the day. When you make it past the door troll, you'll find the store to be very dirty, and usually has at least one homeless person at the minimum. They touch all the coffee, spill stuff everywhere, the floor is sticky, the counters are sticky etc. The only reason i write this now is because today a homeless person spilled milk all over me. Coughing all over the coffee equipment and everything. Horrified. You have to buy a cup from behind the counter first, which is fine, it would be great if they had creamer available ever. The employees also are unfortunately .... not very smart.

Ordered from Amazon when I got off the plane in Newark. I forgot something back home and was delivered to this location. This is awesome that you can order an item and get it in less than half a day.

A decent 7-Eleven with the usual offerings. There are Amazon storage lockers, a key making machine and an upstairs eating area (which isn't the cleanest). It's not too far for the Port authority so it gets a little sketchy at night. Lines move quickly.

Handy little shop for drinks / crisps and ice. Very friendly staff, not bad prices. They do offer hot snacks, but I didn’t try any. Sadly they don’t stock alcohol free lagers.

that so young young

The worker was very rude and refused to give me change. They shouldn't be hiring teenagers. When I went back again, he did the same thing and I hit him with a Pepsi bottle.

I came from our hotel on 3 different occasions for coffee early on weekdays. The staff were so friendly! The machines provide tasty brewed coffee at a reasonable price ($3 for a small latte). The donuts were fresh. I felt very safe on my own. Highly recommend for a quick snack or drink.
