"7 Floor Malaysia Tea Room is tucked away inside a small Holborn food hall, where you’ll hear Egyptian music blasting from its shawarma-flinging neighbour and office-goers slurp on laksa while scrolling through TikTok. This Malaysian stall at the end of the corridor-like room is all about comfort food. Doughy cheung fun is doused in a sweet sauce, although the rice noodle roll itself is a little bland. And the chunks of beef in the rendang can be nice and tender or have a little bit too much of a chew to them. All in all, a meal in this small food hall is good if you’re looking for a hearty lunch around Holborn—the prawn mee soup will do wonders for a blocked nose. photo credit: Rianne Shlebak photo credit: Rianne Shlebak" - Rianne Shlebak

Very good homemade style Malaysia food. Nothing fancy but very local. The Coix seeds drink is very natural and good to have together with the spicy noodles. Also it’s my first time to try the fish stick. Very interesting. Thought it’s like British fish finger but completely different. It’s like fish flavoured fried rice stick. Not too bad. Very good service as well from a Malaysia owner. Price is not very cheap but worth trying.

Delicious authentic assam laksa. This unique dish is a rare find in London. Very generous portion. Friendly owner. 用料实在,推荐。 It's a stall within a shop, shared with another 2 stalls. Another stall is a Malaysian stall selling kuih muih and other Malaysian dishes too. There are a small number of tables and chairs. More suitable for small group visit.

One of the best place to get authentic Malaysian noodles. Their assam laksa is pungent, flavourful and they don't skimp on ingredients to make the soup base. You'll need to come early as there are limited tables to share between the 3 stalls.

7 Floor graciously hosted a big group of us Malaysians for dinner after an event. The coordination was smooth and friendly, and we were welcomed with next level hospitality during the meal! Chong and his team took good care of us, gave us Yeo’s drinks and even jelly that tasted like home. The Asam Laksa was perfect in the cold weather. The nasi lemak, rendang, lekor, fried chicken, prawn noodle, curry Mee were all delicious. All in all, we had a wonderful time. Highly recommended!

Highly recommended! I went there with my Malaysian friend and we both liked the food. It opened for one year only in a great location near Holborn/British museum. The owner and staff are friendly. Would def go back.

Really enjoyed the prawn mee and the assam laksa. The prawn mee broth was unashamedly prawn-y and spicy with a mix of the bihun and yellow noodles. The assam laksa - not to be confused with the more common curry laksa here - was sour and fishy yet fresh with mint, pineapple and I think cucumber. And lemongrass and galangal. It kept me nice and warm all afternoon. The owners, husband and wife from KL, were really lovely and popped over to ask if it was all ok. Highly recommend for unapologetically Malaysian food.

Wow! Assam laksa was one of the best I’ve ever had (including compared to those I’ve had in Malaysia). Flavours are full on, no holds barred, spicy to authentic Malaysian level, and full of flavour (they even use assam keping not just tamarind) and the fishy, sour sauce is thick and fully loaded with mackerel/sardine. Some people comment on the price, but I happily pay the £14/bowl of noodles (also the correct ones not just udon) of this quality and use of the correct, authentic ingredients. Will be back next time I’m in London to try more of the menu!

One of the best Malaysian restaurants in London hidden away in Holborn nearby the British museum. Hands down one of the best prawn mee I’ve had outside of Malaysia and good value for money too. Restaurant does get busy so it’s worth visiting early. Owners were also very friendly and helpful
