I read all the great reviews but obviously you can’t always believe everything you read on the internet, but in this case you can believe everything! We had at least 7 whale sitings 1 dolphin and one seal. The captain did an outstanding job navigating to have both sides of the boat with up close views. There was one breach but I missed that. The seas were rough on the way out and the lady next to me puked, yeah kinda gross but the crew assisted her quickly and efficiently cleaned up. Sure, you can do without seeing puke but I honestly didn’t really think it was that rough. The seas were calm where the whale sitings were. The way back was a really smooth ride. Bring your sweatshirts as even when it’s summer warm on shore you will probably be cold on the open water. The 3 kids, were “bored” as kids are without electronics but really enjoyed and appreciated seeing the whales. “Worth it!” From the 17, 12 and 12 year old kiddos. I totally recommend this company for a great whale watching experience.

Google
This was a great tour! They guarantee a sighting or you get another whale watching expedition for free. We saw a couple different types of whales and some porpoises. We had over 8 sightings. The prices for on-board concessions are reasonable. Make sure to check for a Groupon to see if they are running a deal. It makes it much more affordable! This was well-worth the money and even my really young kids had fun! You do have to pay to park. Download the app suggested in the company email to speed that process up.

Google
Saw four humpback whales. Watched them feed, dive and blow when they surfaced. The captain made sure each side of the boat got good views and he cruised alongside whales as they moved. We were incredibly close at times. The naration was detailed and very informative. The naturalist knows their stuff. We would definitely do this again when in the area.

Google
This was a long boat ride out to the sea but wow the experience once we got there was amazing! The whales are beautiful and huge! Came right up to the boat. Would do it again in a heartbeat if we lived here! Also the crew was extremely nice and knowledgeable!

Google
Amazing experience...saw 3 whales and huge dolphin pod. Boat was wonderful, clean, great staff, snacks and the commentary was excellent. This captain knows what he is doing bc he gave us the best view of all the other boats out there. Best day ever!

Google
Our family loved it. The entire crew were so kind and gave exceptional education throughout the trip. We were notified immediately whenever a whale or shark was spotted. So many opportunities for pictures. Awesome seafood restaurant on the premises for after the ride. I had more videos of whale and shark activity but it looks like I can only add pictures here.

Google
Staff were amazing. Naturalist was really knowledgeable. We saw a huge sunfish, and had 2 humpback whales hanging out near the boat for quite some time. What a beautiful experience! Staff knew the whales; it was fun to hear what they have learned about Spoon and Valley aver the years.

Google
I cannot describe in words how amazing this whale watching tour is. The staff are amazing and knowledgeable. The kiddos got sea sick and the crew consistently checked on us to make sure we were okay. Loved that they had concessions and clean restrooms as well. We had the opportunity to see so many amazing things that the whales can do on this tour. I highly recommend with any family!

Yelp
I cannot say enough good things about this organization. After two miserable whale watch tours in Boston with the New England aquarium, we decided to try to recover our whale-centered visit to Massachusetts with a trip to Gloucester in hopes of actually seeing some whales. We were blown away and wish we had just stayed in Gloucester the whole time, taking multiple cruises with 7 Seas. The captain was so knowledgeable and positioned the boat so that everyone had a chance to see the marine wildlife. He was obviously communicating with other whale tour operators to locate wildlife and give us the best experience. Our naturalist was so kind and so knowledgeable. The boat was much smaller than the Boston one, and was FAR less crowded, which just made for a much better experience. And we went from seeing 0-1 whales per trip in Boston to seeing FIVE different whales and TWO basking sharks with 7 Seas. It was an awesome time, and the contrast between this tour operator and the Boston one was stark. We had a blast; our vacation was saved; and we will highly recommend 7 Seas to anyone who is coming to the area in hopes of seeing whales!

Yelp
Disappointed, we drove hundreds of miles to see the whales and we cancel our other activities to see the whales on Friday we booked our tour since we were just passing through Massachusetts everyone recommended, we see the whales. We received a call Friday from the Tour office saying the whale watching tour was cancelled, and we can reschedule for another day or refund. We had to get the refund since we were just here for the day Friday. Disappointed we didn't get to see any whales it was too late to make other arrangements with another tour. We called another tour Company they were fully booked and still running.

Yelp
This was an amazing experience from start to finish. I have been on many whale watchers and, while it is always great to see a whale, there are certainly other things that make the overall experience great. Tickets were reasonably priced. We used Groupon and had no issues. The ticket booth was clearly marked and they had a cute photo area for before boarding. The website has great directions for parking, what to wear, and other helpful tips. The naturalist on board was fantastic and talked for the majority of the trip, sharing so much information about the wildlife and the surrounding area. We loved the historical facts about the region. There were snacks and drinks on board. I was pleasantly surprised to be able to have a Sam Adams Oktoberfest. We could also use a card to pay which was great because we forgot cash The crew on board was fantastic and super attentive to guests. There were a few people on board who were a tad sea sick and the crew was there to help! I thought this was a really nice to touch that they tried to provide support and tips for easing that woozy feeling. We saw whales! There were approximately 5 separate whales and two species. Before we left the dock we saw a seal in the harbor.

Melissa D.

Yelp
We had a great trip and was able to follow a whale on our trip out. The crew had reached out to other tour boats to let them know since it's been a difficult summer for sightings. Highly recommend! I saw a comment about safety communication. This was lacking but the crew was open to questions if there were concerns.

Yelp
Our whale watch got canceled due to weather, so my review is based on the customer service related to that. They called and let me know about the cancellation the afternoon before the day of our tour and explained that the seas were very rough and the captain didn't feel the tour would be as safe as it could be. They offered a reschedule or refund. We had to select the latter because of our schedule, but if we are ever back in Boston we'll try again. They were very kind on the phone and prompt with the refund. We went to the Boston Naval Yard to see the USS Constitution and the USS Cassin Young that afternoon instead. The park ranger at the Cassin Young said they had only just opened it for tours a few minutes prior because the water had been too rough earlier in the day, so it sounds like the Captain's assessment was spot on and he spared us a dicey day at sea.

Erica T.

Yelp
Informative commentary led by on-board naturalist. Bathrooms were not bad. Snacks & alcohol on board. Seating available inside & outside boat entire ride. Expensive but worth it for a special family experience.

Ethan M.

Yelp
I hope we can come again if we have a chance, the whale watch from the boat was a nice view from start to finish.

Yelp
This was an awful experience that I do not recommend. The trip was subpar due to lack of respect for the passengers and poor communication. Main issues: (1) They cancelled the morning tour due to fog. I believe some people from that tour were put on the afternoon tour. It felt overcrowded. This also meant that they still scheduled the afternoon tour despite potential visibility issues. (2) The seas were choppy, and the boat rocked A LOT. Many people were sick. I do not recommend this tour if you get remotely motion sick. (3) The noise level on the boat is deafening. I would not recommend sitting your kids next to the engine room. The loud speakers were also incredibly loud. (4) All issues above (visibility, choppiness, overcrowding, illness, sound) were compounded by the tour being longer than scheduled. The tour is meant to last 3-4 hours, 1:30 PM - 5:30 PM. We were out for over 5 hours because the crew made the decision to bring us out over 15 miles one way to the furthest possible spot (which proved fruitless, to add insult to injury). This made our voyage over 30 miles and the total time over 5 hours. (5) Communication was poor. The crew didn't tell us where they were taking us, to the extent that we sat for several hours without any explanation as to what their plan was. Quite honestly, I don't care about maximizing whale sightings. What I care about is my time and comfort being respected. The trip felt like a hostage situation. Passengers cannot leave the boat mid-journey; please respect them and adhere to the trip they signed up for.

Yelp
What a wonderful, amazing trip. Saw Fin Whales and Humpback Whales, including a mom and baby feet from the boat. Naturalist kept everyone engaged and was very knowledgeable. Can not recommend enough. Boat was roomy and comfortable.

Madison C.

Yelp
I went on a 7 Seas Whale Watch last summer, and it was the worst experience ever. My young children and I felt so unsafe. First off, there were not enough life jackets on the boat for everyone( it is a law that every vessel on the water needs to have enough life jackets for everyone) Second, the captains rushed the whales and scared them off; it was so sad to see them be scared an swim away. Not to mention I paid $45 to see the whales for 2 seconds before they swam off because they we got to close. Lastly I smelt cigarette smoke on the boat and it was nasty and when we were back on land my children smelt like smoke. Would NOT recommend to anyone.

Yelp
I had an amazing time with the crew. They are very passionate about whale watching that they also wore outfits that were on theme. We saw 16+ whales and more that were seen for the first time.

Yelp
First off, I never do online reviews but wanted to make this an exception because of the great experience I had! My favorite animal is the Blue Whale but I love all whales and also LOVE the ocean and have always wanted a boat. This year I decided to try out all the local Whale Watch outfits in my area and go whale watching as much as possible, my way of "vicariously" owning a pet whale and boat :). In any case, I've been on 7 whale watch trips with 3 different outfits and have concluded hands-down that 7 Seas Whale Watch out of Gloucester is the best!!! Compared to the other two other outfits, here's my top reasons: #1 roomiest and well laid out to move about. The gally is located at the front of the boat so it allows more seats (which you'll need on very blustery days!), the outside side seats have plenty of room for people to walk by (the other boats -you often have to stand up to let people by), #2 the naturalists who narrates the trip really seem to know their stuff and provide a lot of facts about the whales and coastal areas (with stories) through out the trip. I felt that one of the other outfits didn't really share much. #3 The galley although small always had a good selection of beer, soft drinks and cocktail and was very fast..the other outfits seemed to not have enough stock. One of the other outfits had a lot more hot food selection but was very slow. #4 While the staff on the other boats were nice, the 7 Seas staff seemed always extra nice AND their office staff are soo awesome! I lost my phone once and the nice lady was kind to help me call it and when I realized I screwed up on not buying enough tickets the night before my trip, OMG, they totally resolved it for me that morning before my trip! 7 Sea's customer service is wonderful! #5 as for the whales, they really always go out of their way to make to find them even if it means burning a ton of gas to go further out than they usually do! #6 Their trip price is reasonable and lower than the other boats but offers more I think. I will get the "frequent flyer" plan next year for greater discount. #7 Their location is great right next to the Gloucester House and Blue Collar Lobster House -- an awesome place to enjoy after a trip with great food (really fresh lobstah!) and cocktails! Parking is right in front of the boat dock and is free on Sundays. One of the other boat places has free parking but is really removed from anything. 7Seas is in a great location that keeps you feeling the excitment of the trip even after you get off the boat and always makes me want to celebrate at the quaint Blue Collar Lobstah house bar (filled with a hundred buoys and) right on the water! Anyway, in conclusion, while I think the other two outfits are ok and will find whales, having been on 7Seas 4 times now, I can say that their level of service is always consistent and enjoyable! 7 Seas is my favorite outfit north of Boston so far! Can't wait till the next season to start!

Yelp
Best day ever!!! We observed 30+ common dolphins and then 8-10 humpback whales The captain worked hard to get us to the right place despite having to go farther out than typical.... they were determined to make sure we saw whales and had a great time. Don't miss this whale watch tour.... go at 1:30 so you can stay out longer if needed to find the whales!

Yelp
This was spectacular!!! We did the afternoon adventure. The weather was amazing. The boat was clean, bathrooms were clean. They had snacks and beer and wine. The lady that did all the talking was fun, interesting and very knowledgeable. We saw lots of humpback whales, and we got a rare siting of a school of white belly dolphins. I highly recommend!!

Greg S.

Yelp
Had a great time. Crew was great. Saw dolphins and whales. Guide was full of information about the species and the individual animals.

Yelp
Amazing, awesome, exciting experience with 7 Seas Whale Watch!!! Everything was perfect. I used the Groupon deal and went on 1pm boat to watch the whales. The weather was perfect. While going up, we saw hundreds of dolphins! The boat driver gave us enough chances to watch them, took couple of rounds near the dolphins. Then after few minutes, we saw a sunfish. I had never seen a sunfish and it was very interesting. Then we went further to see the whales and Wow! we got to see so many of them. The best part about this whole experience is that they make sure both the sides (left and right) of the boat get to see the whales. They have their own trick to ensure that happens. The announcer is really good too! I would definitely go back, probably next year in summer, because it's getting colder now! Great job 7 Seas team! You are the best!

Michelle S.

Yelp
Our family had such a great trip watching for whales. We definitely got way more than we bargained for, dolphins swam next to us for awhile, but the big highlight was the whale calf that was spotted showing off for the tour! We saw Fin Whales a lot and a humpback whale rather close to the shoreline (in comparison to how far we went out in total). The staff was all very great and we really enjoyed listening to all the knowledge from our tour guide!

Yelp
My family and I went on an 830AM tour and it was EXCELLENT. We got there and the crew welcomed us, let us know where the restrooms were and left on time. All the info we got before going on the tour was super helpful- what to expect, managing expectations about weather, what we might see etc. The experience was wonderful, especially for my ten year old. We went less than 10 miles out and saw 5 whales (humpback mother and baby and two others and a fin whale. We even saw harbor porpoises and were treated to a great presentation from the staff the whole time. We all learned so much and had a great time. We would do it again. Parking is good, snack bar is great and you can even drink on board.

Yelp
Easy to work with, boat, and great shape, Captain knew where to go to see whales. Just a nice experience.

Yelp
This was a bucket list item for me despite the fact that I get terrible seasickness. The weather for the day I had reserved called for thunderstorms so I was really concerned seas were going to be rough and I wouldn't fare well. I stopped at the location the day before to inquire about whether or not they would cancel based on forecast and the wonderful woman (who I'm embarrassed to say I didn't catch her name) checked on forecasted sea conditions and told me I was in luck because the morning showed only 2 foot seas, practically flat calm. I mentioned how badly I wanted to go on this trip despite my history of all types of motion sickness. I came equipped with motion sickness patches, but was told to take Dramamine starting the night before, to acquire sea bands for the wrists and chew ginger gum. I followed this regiment and I'm happy to report that I experienced ZERO motion sickness. The lady who manned the snack bar onboard the boat also suggested the best place for me to sit in order to feel the least movement. I was thrilled to be able to enjoy the entire trip and saw several whales, which was a dream come true. It was a great way to spend my birthday and I would definitely recommend 7 Seas and utilize them again.

Mayakel L.

Yelp
We had a great time on 7 Seas Whale Watch! The crew is very passionate about their jobs and made sure everyone on board had a great experience. We saw quite a few whales, so we definitely got our moneys worth! Overall I would recommend this to anyone visiting Gloucester!

Yelp
They began with a caveat that everyone who spends time in nature knows: there are no guarantees of seeing wildlife. This is the Atlantic Ocean, after all - not a zoo. After explaining their very generous "no whale" policy, we set out toward to find the whales. And we found them! Many of them! In fact, we saw over two dozen humpbacks feeding, two or three Fin Whales, and at least six Minke Whales. I'd hoped to see a whale or two, probably from afar. Instead they were so incredibly close to the boat that we could see the fish they were feeding on, and we had several times where, from any point on the boat, one could see multiple whales. Matt, the naturalist and our intrepid Captain Jay did an excellent job, not only locating the whales, but steering us safely around them. Their love for these animals shone through their words and actions as they guided the boat and their passengers through the trip. We learned much about whales, Gloucester, the sea, and best of all, "met" individual whales (Cat's Paw, Glow, Etch-Sketch, etc.) that had named and identified by the scientific team. The boat was clean, fast, and comfortable, the crew kind, competent, and knowledgeable. All in all, it was a fabulous experience that utterly exceeded my expectations.
google avatar

Andy D.

Yelp
For our whale watch, we didn't see any whales for the first two hours, but they kept the boat going North and ended up staying out longer which resulted in us seeing a lot of humpback whales including one that surfaced randomly right next to the boat. My wife did get a bit seasick, and they were very kind and helpful bringing her ginger ale and checking in on her. The naturalist who spoke the whole time did a good job dispensing facts and tidbits the whole time. The food they have in the boat is definitely overpriced, but that's kind of a given. I recommend standing in the front, you'll be able to more easily see both sides and they generally approach the whales from the front. Overall, was very happy with our experience!

Yelp
Incredible whale watch! If you're going to book a whale watch, do it with 7 Seas. Not only did we get to see a bunch of different whales, but Amanda was amazing with the information she provided.

Yelp
My family and I had the best time with 7 Seas Whale Watch! We were worried that our 5 year old was going to experience some challenges on the trip (which he did) but an amazing crew member (Noah) made sure that he had what he needed to help him stay grounded and supported him through the entire trip. How amazing was that?!!! My son loves Noah, as he typically does not take to strangers so easily. Additionally, 7 Seas crew members made sure that everyone got a chance to see at least one whale, and their Captain (whoever was driving the boat) was such an awesome driver. She/He would go out towards where they suspect a whale would be and go straight to where the action might be (safely of course). In terms of parking, we went on a Sunday and the parking was perfect as it was free. ( I saw that other ppl gave them a 4 star for parking, but with such amazingness I would still walk from a far distance to experience this). We gave this a 5 star because of the amazing (and inclusive) and kind customer service and support from ALL crew members. The food is much better than expected and not costly. Boat was spacious, and they don't cram everyone in just to make more $$. Their bathroom was very clean, and crew members are constantly making sure that the upkeep was provided. Educational tour was in-depth and the crew member answered all our questions. Lastly, this is a family friendly company that treats all their patrons like family. Every second of this trip was cherished and appreciated. We are now loyal fans of 7 Seas Whale Watch, and make sure you tell Noah Hello for us! Best experience ever! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

Yelp
PHENOMENAL!! When you visit Gloucester, Massachusetts please do not miss this tour! Amazing! Awesome! The boat is super comfortable! They serve beer and wine and snacks and cocktails! There are restrooms located on the boat! This was one of the coolest excursions we have ever done in our many years of travel and it is absolutely a don't miss experience! The captain and the tour guide and the young lady that tells you all about the whales were all amazing! We saw several fin whales and were able to take pictures and just enjoy being on the amazing Atlantic Ocean!
google avatar

Nancy F.

Yelp
Our family has been enjoying these whale watches for over 20 years. Yesterday, we had 3 generations in attendance. The naturalist and Captain on board presented not only Gloucester harbor history but explained the marine animal information very clearly and it was so informative. We wish Gloucester was not so far away from our home because we would love to do the whale watch more often! This time we saw 7 fin whales, 6 minke whales, harbor porpoises and 2 harbor seals! Our family high encourage everyone to seek out this trip!!

Yelp
YOU CAN'T SPEND A BETTER DAY! Been here many times and always had a once in a lifetime experience! One time we hardly saw whales, but saw SUPER POD of dolphins...there was 100s of them! Each time you go it feels like your first time!!! The staff is great and the naturalist is extremely knowledgable!!! Don't miss out on the adventure! ENJOYMENT for kids of ALL ages!!! PS... 1. They only book a portion due to Corona & are constantly cleaning! 2. I don't get seasick, but my friend does...she said she got so distracted by the whales...it didn't bother her!! LOL
google avatar

David L.

Yelp
Good service and management team ! The only thing complaining is the parking lot too small , and there was no more parking lot for the customers close by !
google avatar

Michael S.

Yelp
We loved our experience on Friday, 10/15. The naturalist was very informative and charismatic. We saw a lot of whales and even saw some breach. Once in a lifetime experience!
google avatar

Jay B.

Yelp
This was the best whale watch I've ever been on! The boat was perfectly clean, the staff was knowledgeable and friendly, great at finding whales. They were uncannily talented at identifying whales at great distances by their behaviors. They clearly love what they do, and it shows. Would highly recommend these tours!

Chase J.

Yelp
Beautiful day spent with the largest hump back in the North Atlantic and her calf. Staff extremely knowledgeable and polite. Bathrooms by gender, food and drinks, along with a small selection of libations. Also great interior seating area with large tables and a number of books, maps and pamphlets to avoid the chill and or to brush up on the respective knowledge. I was honestly kind of dreading an excursion as this was our last full day of our trip for a friends wedding and the body needed some rest. We signed up for the morning trip so got up early driving from Boston. Hard to find a breakfast place not packed even on a weekday in the cool town but found a Dunkin down the road from the boathouse. Recharged the batteries on the trek out reading the pamphlets and other factoids. Once in the action the boat is really easy to get around and the captain did a good job of coming about showing both sides of the boat what's going on. On the way home had a hotdog and a beer. Great day! Pretty unbelievable that some of the best whale watching is less than an hour from Boston. We had been in Maine for the wedding and were bummed that every whale watching tour had been sold out. Completely worth it!
google avatar

Brittany C.

Yelp
Amazing. Such a great experience. So much hospitality. The ride was fun, we saw so many whales! Snacks and hot drinks on board. You can bring Your own food. Bundle up and be ready to get wet! The crew was amazing! I just can't sing their praises enough!

Ed S.

Yelp
This trip is wonderful. Captain, naturalist, crew - all top notch. Considering they do this everyday, twice a day, all summer...they have the energy as if your trip is their one and only time out on the water all summer. You feel like a guest on a tour rather than a tourist. The captain mentioned during our trip that fewer than 1% of the earth's population will see a live whale in the wild during their lifetime. THAT is pretty special. Book today with this company - you will NOT be disappointed.

S C.

Yelp
Saw lots of whales and dolphins. Overall a good tour . The boat was also in good condition.
google avatar

Angie B.

Yelp
Amazing, awesome and do not miss. Even the boat hosts were fantastic and hospitable. I returned home only to realize the souvenir sweatshirt I purchased was too big and they were willing to exchange and ship me the smaller size. We just loved our experience!!!
google avatar

Gary M.

Yelp
WOW, WOW,WOW. We saw one whale right out of the marina. Watched her for a while then cruised to another location. This time there were three whales. The guide explained anything and everything you could possibly learn. Between my wife's and my camera we took over 800 pictures. I recommend them. Remember whales have a mind of their own. There is no guarantee you will see any, but that is unlikely. I can't give enough praise to 7 seas whale watch. I could do this every day
google avatar

Jacquelyn R.

Yelp
BEST WHALE WATCHING I HAVE EVER DONE!!!! AND GOOD COVID SAFETY PROTOCOLS. *Knew where the whales were and went there even it was farther than planned *Very nice and knowledgeable crew *Environmentally conscious and showed a true love for all marine life and their safety

Yelp
Great whale watching!! We went out late in the season when Whales had began migrating. Our whale tour in Bar Harbor, ME was cancelled due to that, so we were thrilled when we found this one on our way to Salem, MA. And they did NOT disappoint. We went out pretty far and sea was a little choppy, but they found the whales got us RIGHT by them. The experience was truly incredible. I would come back to this whale watching tour time and time again.
google avatar

Rachelle K.

Yelp
Awesome!! Guides & service great! Guaranteed sightings & they delivered! Crew is safe, knowledgeable & aim to please! Enthusiastic people who seem to love their job! Would go back in a heartbeat! Thx u 7 Seas!
google avatar

Meagan W.

Yelp
OMG this trip was beyond amazing!!! We saw probably over 20 whale sightings and at least 15-20 dolphins!!! This ranks up there as one of the top 5 cooled things I've ever done in my life!!!! The staff was extremely accommodating especially JUDY as well as Heather! My sister needed a special request and they accommodated with a smile! Make sure to do this whale excursion if you're ever in the area!! Tip: dress WARM it's likes 30* degrees cooler out on water Photo: group photo features the legendary Judy!!!

Yelp
Whale watch time on August 1. 4 hour cruise left right on time. The boat is large & squeaky clean with plenty of room to social distance on. Whales were in abundance after a trip of a bit over an hour. The naturalist Matt gave 1st rate information on whales & their habitat The boats captain was expert at maneuvering the rather large vessel between & around the other smaller boats which had gathered to watch as well This was a completely enjoyable afternoon & parking was available a few hundred feet away for only $5 I plan to do this again at sometime soon & highly recommend this whale watch !!!
google avatar

Nicole T.

Yelp
Amazing Whale Watch with the most knowledgeable and friendly staff. We saw so many whales, seals, and dolphins. Comfortable inside seating with many socially distance options around the boat. Trip was one of the first of the season and they executed everything perfectly! Ensure you dress WARM, went out on a 70 degree day with three jackets and was still cold on the ride out and back. Amazing trip overall!

Yelp
It was amazing ! We saw a bunch of whales, the weather was perfect and the staff was great! The guide was very knowledgeable. Overall perfect trip !

Yelp
We had a wonderful time today on our Whale Watch . Look for discounted tickets on Groupon hint hint. We saw just enough whales up close.

Yelp
I could not have asked for a better first time whale watching experience. Everything about the ticket process was smooth and when I had to call and change the date of my trip it was so easy and the person on the phone was very polite. The spot in the harbor where the boat takes off has ample parking and it is free on Sundays! When I went to the office to check in and get my ticket, I was greeted promptly and the woman behind the desk was very kind. All the staff on board the boat were so cheery and seemed to genuinely enjoy being there. I was so impressed from all the staff members especially the woman who narrated the boat trip. She was so informative and pleasant. She knew how much to talk and where to direct our attention. I HIGHLY recommend this company for whale watching and will definitely be booking another trip with them because we had so much fun!

Yelp
We went on the 8am tour on 8/13/17 and had an awesome experience. We did purchase Groupons for this tour, but honestly would have paid full price because it was worth it. We saw so many whales! You do need to call and make a reservation if you buy a Groupon so they can get the voucher number. This process was easy and not sure why others had an issue with it. They don't let you go on the weekend afternoons in the summer with a Groupon, but you can go with the morning tour which we preferred anyway. Make sure you show up a little early if you want to snag a good spot on the boat. The crew was happy and super informative. The naturalist Judy knew a ton about whales and shared a lot of interesting facts during the trip. There's a small snack stand inside the boat that had coffee, hot chocolate, alcoholic drinks, and some different snack foods. There were a few bathrooms on board that were clean and easily accessible. We spent about an hour and a half heading south on the boat with hardly a whale in sight. We were starting to lose hope but Captain Jay felt that if we kept going, we would see whales. We pressed on and were literally almost at Cape Cod! It was so worth it because we saw at least 20-25 whales! It was amazing. We saw them dive in trios and pairs and they came up right next to the boat. We only had about 30 min to spend watching them, since the trip was so long, but honestly it didn't even matter! So much better than expected. We really appreciated the perseverance of the crew and that they cared so much about us getting a worthwhile experience. That is the kind of business that we like to support.

Yelp
The crew was outstanding and having the whole tour narrated live and being able to do questions and answers with an expert made it even more amazing! Will be back and recommend to everyone I know! Plus there's beer

Yelp
All Aboard! Yhar she blows! Literally, whales blowing their blow holes out of the water was something I had only seen on TV up until the day I climbed aboard the Privateer 4 on May 2nd. Judy, the wonderful lady who helped me manage my booking changes due to inclement weather forecasts was excellent at communicating with me and making all the arrangements to ensure my trip was amazing. She even made sure I brought a good coat because it sure did get quite a bit colder once we were about 15 miles out to sea. Thanks for the tip Judy! The boarding was an ease and due to Covid, there was a much smaller crowd onboard than the ship could actually tolerate and that gave us all plenty of room to move about and everyone on board was really good at getting their photos and then giving the next person a chance to get to the rail for their photos. To my surprise, after seeing the first whale, we encountered a friendly seal who seemed to follow us and poked its head up out of the sea to look at us curiously throughout our voyage. He even had some friends check us out too. Must have been a human sight seeing tour he was guiding. Anyways, after spotting the whales and making goofy faces at the seals, we were graced with the arrival of a pod of Dolphins who enjoyed showing off their aquatic abilities and jumping through the ships wake. Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable down to the scientific names of each species we encountered including the seals. Besides the amazing wildlife we encountered on our trip, the views of the ocean and the sky from that far out in the ocean are unforgettable to the point that I would have been perfectly satisfied had we never even seen any animals. They are simply breath taking. I definitely recommend taking a trip out to sea to see what you can see. Dress warm, check in early, wear comfortable shoes with good traction and bring a jacket. We left port and it was about 72 degrees. When we got out to sea, I had a winter coat on and although I wasn't freezing, I was definitely cold wearing jeans, long socks, sneakers, a long sleeve sweater shirt and a cotton tee underneath. Thank God I had a hood too. I recommend one so you can turn away from the wind while going out and returning. The cold is no joke. Granted it was early May but take into consideration a 10-15 degree difference from your weather app report whatever time of year you depart.
