High-end eatery, bar, and lounge offering modern American cuisine with panoramic views.
"A fine dining restaurant in Downtown Los Angeles, known for its panoramic views and upscale cuisine. Chef Miguel Gonzalez, who previously worked at Augustine Wine Bar, served as the chef de cuisine here." - Mona Holmes
"Being 71 floors above LA’s sprawl makes you feel like you’re in this place for something important. If you’re dining at 71Above, you probably should be - it’s an experience too expensive to waste on an event that isn’t either celebratory or corporate. That said, the food, a choose-your-own prix-fixe, is delicious. Get their egg and sausage appetizer and the prime ribeye main, but know the menu changes regularly and pretty much everything on it will be great. If you’re looking for somewhere to do a special occasion, or your boss needs somewhere to take a new client, 71Above is your best bet." - jess basser sanders, brant cox
"If you work in the financial district and need to find a holiday party location, just look up. At the top of the US Bank Tower Downtown is 71Above, LA’s shrine to corporate power moves and the ideal setting for a bunch of people whose idea of letting loose is business casual. That said, 71Above is serving excellent food, and the 360-degree views of LA are like nothing else in the city. Capacity: Private dining rooms for 14 or 30 people, larger dining room for 75, full restaurant buyout available." - brant cox, nikko duren
"In cities like New York and Chicago, restaurants on top of skyscrapers are old news. In LA, they’re basically local landmarks. 71Above is a modern restaurant/bar on top of the US Bank tower that has only been open since 2016, but is easily one of the most impressive spaces in the city. With nearly 360-degree views of LA and a ceiling that looks like an optical illusion, drinking at 71Above is like being inside an interpretive art museum. While we totally endorse eating a full dinner here, you could also just come by for a strong drink before a night out Downtown." - brant cox
"Very few restaurants in LA have any dress code whatsoever (that’s why Quentin Tarantino gets away with wearing board shorts at Nobu) but 71Above suggests wearing suit jackets or dresses - making it an ideal special-occasion spot. So does the three-course tasting menu, which includes suitably fancy options like champagne-poached oyster with uni and king trumpet mushrooms with truffles. But what you’re really here for are the completely unparalleled views of Los Angeles. If that’s the sort of thing that appeals to you, it’s hard to find anything more romantic than watching the sunset from 71 stories above the city." - brett keating
