Our first dinner at 753 South was Thursday right before an opera at Substation. Our waitress was so attentive knowing we had a show to attend.
The food and drinks both were fine, especially The Cornell, a mix of prosecco, bitters & sugar cube. Not at all sweet. For appetizer my husband and I shared a Mediterranean combo. We got pita bread plus hummus, baba ganoush, feta, maybe tzatziki, & another, all very tasty. Our entrees were fish & chips and brick chicken. My husband found his fish to be fresh, delicious. He couldn't finish the fries! My chicken was juicy white meat reminding me of spatchcocked chicken we eat occasionally. It was served with smashed potatoes and arugula. I took some home it was so generous.
Oddly we had trouble reserving a table by calling so I emailed my request. You can't imagine how surprised I was to promptly hear from Bob whom I presume is manager. As we left I noticed a man standing near the door who turned out to be Bob so I complimented him on the restaurant.
Bottom line -- The atmosphere at 753 was welcoming to all, including a handicapped entrance in the rear. The menu focuses on a few dishes and we were entirely pleased. Atmosphere is upbeat, staff are helpful and the kitchen staff, very competent. We hope to return. Thank you so much.
