"Man vs Fries has opened one food truck in far south Austin at 11410 Manchaca Road, with plans for two more openings before the end of the year in Holly at 2714 East Cesar Chavez Street and South Austin at 7814 South First Street. Man vs Fries’s menu includes carne asada fries, burritos with fries and Flamin’ Hot Cheetos, nachos, quesadillas, as well as Texas-specific items (coming in the spring). There are also desserts like fried cheesecake and fried Oreos. Man vs Fries owner William Bonhorst describes his menu as “the maximum version of the french fry,” with a vision of the deep-fried potato stick as the main attraction of a dish rather than a side. His business was inspired by the Texas State Fair, a notorious fried foods hub. He opened his first restaurant in Oakland in 2018 and is rapidly expanding across the U.S. Man vs Fries is available for pickup (guests can order online while at the truck with a QR code) or delivery through most major platforms (DoorDash offers free delivery because Man vs Fries is a Black-owned business). The Manchaca Road location is open from 4 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. while the other two locations will be open from 11 a.m. to 2:30 a.m." - Erin Russell
