"When you get to 7th Street Burger in the East Village, you’ll probably see a big crowd blocking the sidewalk. We know, standing in line sucks. But unlike a sample sale in Soho with bins of lime green pants that nobody wants, the burgers here are worth the wait. There are only four things on the menu at 7th Street Burger, and this simplicity will work in your favor when you want to do minimal thinking after a long night of chasing whiskey with Miller Lights. (This place is open until 3am on weekends.) Your options are: a cheeseburger, a double cheeseburger, an Impossible burger, and fries. Focus your attention on the most crucial item here, the cheeseburger. photo credit: Emily Schindler Despite having only a few ingredients, the cheeseburger keeps digging its way into our brains Inception-style. Roughly-chopped onions are pressed into a beef patty as it’s smashed with a spatula, resulting in something that’ll remind you of a White Castle slider. The whole thing, with its gooey yellow American cheese, is an unapologetic salute to salt and fat. Even the grilled Martin’s potato roll comes super greasy. Tweaks to the burger (e.g., no pickles) are allowed, but we wouldn’t change a single thing about it. There’s nowhere to sit or stand inside of 7th Street Burger, and the few outdoor tables are usually taken. That means you’ll have to eat your food standing on the sidewalk like everyone else, as curious onlookers walk by and stare. We once heard someone say, “Why the hell are so many people waiting at this place? It must be good.” When you see a long line, that doesn’t mean you should automatically join and spend the next unknown amount of time guessing words or crushing candies on your phone. But in this case, it does. Food Rundown photo credit: Emily Schindler Cheeseburger This $6.50 burger is the reason you come to 7th Street. It has a beef patty made with a 75/25 blend from Schweid & Sons, grilled sweet onions, a single pickle slice, American cheese, and house sauce on a Martin’s potato roll. The people working here won’t (or can’t) tell you what’s in the house sauce, but we mostly taste mayo with a bit of ketchup and pickle relish. The cheeseburgers aren’t that big, so maybe order two right off the bat. photo credit: Emily Schindler Double Cheeseburger This is the same as the cheeseburger, just with double the meat and cheese. It’s a good alternative when you want a more substantial burger, but you do lose the ideal meat-to-bun ratio that we love about the single cheeseburger. You will, however, get more overall juiciness from the two patties. Impossible Cheeseburger We’re not going to pretend like this tastes exactly like the cheeseburger. The genuine beefiness is lacking, and the texture is a little on the mealy side. But it’s still pretty darn close to the real thing, and if 7th Street is ever out of beef one day, we’d happily order this burger. photo credit: Emily Schindler Fries The fries here are on the well-done (i.e., a little past golden brown) and crunchy side, and we like how they’re thick and never lacking in salt. Ask for a side of house sauce for dipping. (They also have ketchup packets.) photo credit: Kenny Yang Chopped Beef Fries Reminiscent of roadkill fries from In-N-Out, this off-menu item has everything from the cheeseburger (minus the bun) thrown on top of a basket of fries. It tastes as good as it sounds. We prefer this with the spicy sauce, which isn’t always available. (You should know that you can’t get the spicy sauce on any burgers.) Make sure you have a fork—you’ll need it." - Kenny Yang

Google
4 stars for 4 reasons 1. Burger is really good, the meat is ok grade. 2. Price is unbeatable for a one patty! 6.5 3. Quick service 4. Simple menu and easy ordering Minus 1 star for 1 reason- the butter is super greasy and oily! Most likely 60/40 beef.

Your dining dollars work harder here than elsewhere. The service personnel meet all reasonable expectations. The meals demonstrate extraordinary preparation. This place differs notably from standard interiors. A genuinely outstanding dining visit.

Came based on recommendations from a lot of people! Burger was very greasy, the bottom bun was soaked through, chips were very good though

Google
Next-level smash burger! The cheeseburger is insane, but the real star is the bun. I swear it’s made by the gods and steals like 80% of the spotlight. The place is tiny—basically no indoor seating—so don’t show up when it’s raining unless you’re cool eating it on the go. It’s more of a grab-and-go vibe. Mexican Coke, water, and a few soft drinks. But honestly, the burger alone is worth it.

Google
The burgers here are fantastic! They're juicy, accompanied by a tasty house sauce and gooey cheese. What struck me was how they were less greasy compared to other locations. The fries were impeccably crispy and flavorful. Our order comprised of two double burgers, fries, coke (the authentic kind with real cane sugar), and an extra portion of the sauce for the fries. The staff were extremely welcoming and their service was swift. The Soho branch provides outdoor covered seating for approximately 5 groups, which was completely occupied when we visited for Saturday dinner. I'd suggest giving 7th Street a shot at the recently opened SoHo location or the original East Village spot!

I don’t know how to explain the experience being there, the perfect meal for everytime ♥️

Google
My bestfriend and I stopped by on a Tuesday evening, it wasn't too crowded and not much people were seated outside. I ordered a double cheeseburger and she chose a double impossible burger. Overall the burgers had great flavor. The patty and bun were equally as soft. I like my bun toasted and not as soft as the meat. Fries were good, I didn't have loaded fries but they looked great on the table next to me.

Google
Burger wasn’t anything special and fries were average at best. Fairly priced

Yelp
A small burger joint with a simple menu consisting of burgers (cheeseburger or impossible), fries (regular or loaded fries), and drinks (coke, sprite, or water). The workers are friendly and helpful. There is outdoor seating outside the restaurant. Note: With the burgers, you have the option to upgrade it to a double size (extra pattie). For the loaded fries, you have the option to request the meat be impossible. I would recommend requesting a side of their special sauce Overall, this is a great late night joint to check out. I personally prefer the impossible meat and think that option tastes better. Make sure to grab extra napkins. The food is greasy

Yelp
This place has been on my radar for a bit now from all of the posts on IG about them. We were on our way to the subway station when we saw their flag hanging and we just HAD to go. For me at least, this place was an example of a spot so hyped up by social media but really didn't live up to the hype. Is it because it was not the original location? Was it just a bad day and luck of the draw? I'm not sure. What I can say is that their smash burger was pretty average at best. For a smash burger it didn't have the hallmark crispy edges. Considering it had some browning it's almost like they didn't get a hard enough sear. I'd say it was more a flat patty burger. Don't get me wrong, this was by no means a bad cheeseburger, for me it just wasn't a good SMASH burger. Decent flavor, nice soft bun, pretty good sauce, perfectly melted cheese. However for a smash burger it just didn't hit the mark for me. It's a small spot inside and I don't remember there being a spot to sit but right out front they have covered seating and tables. The people working the front counter were nice enough and they got the food out almost too fast, probably why the burger didn't get a good hard sear and crispy crust.

Anusha G.

Yelp
I used to love 7th Street Burger but now I'm unsure. The service has gotten worse since before and the burgers have gotten greasier and less balanced. I have been consistently a little disappointed by the food here. I did try the loaded fries though and those were amazing. Still greasy but definitely not as much!

Doug W.

Yelp
They Have Done It Again I had no idea they made those loaded crazy fries in a spicy version. I prefer the regular but damn, they pack a punch if you're in the mood. Stopped in, grabbed some grease bombs, and launched em immediately into the depths of my belly. So delicious, so satisfying, sooo many more to be had.

Marci A.

Yelp
The burgers, the fries, even the Mexican Coca Cola are absolutely delicious and you'll want to come back time and time again. The establishment is a bit tiny but they get your orders done quick. The gentlemen at the register wasn't too friendly but my food was so good I didn't care. We were able to sit outside and enjoy but there isn't much seating so keep that in mind.

Yelp
4.2 / 5.0 Just opened on April 6 on Mulberry St in SOHO. It was crowded with many customers! The double cheeseburger is the bun is soft and the cheese is melted and goes well with the beef. The patties are not that thick, so you can eat its easily. The best part was that they served freshly made burgers and fries! Many 7th Street Burger shops only offer take-out, but this one has a space to eat right in front of you, so I recommend it. Also The location and Ambiance are great for a quick hamburger while shopping! What I ordered was: ・DOUBLE CHEESE BURGER ・FRIES ・SPRITE & WATER

Yelp
I think 7th Street Burger is what NYC needs. A no fuss, no muss burger joint. Their storefront is minimalistic, no frills, no pretentious lighting, and no fancy menu. Their menu is simple...single cheese burger, double cheeseburger, fries, soda, extra sauce. And you know what? They do it really well. Food is cooked to order and you can tell they cook it with love. Even with a line, they churn out those burgers quickly. The hardest decision I had to make was coke or sprite. And I'm ok with that. The staff also made it a great experience. When we went, we were greeted and served by Cam. We ordered our food and sat outside. When the food was ready, she just brought it out to us...didn't even have to get up. Whenever I'm in the area or in the area of 7th Street Burger, I will be sure to stop by and grab a double. My one suggestion to the business in general is to maybe offer a side of pickled something to brighten up the palette. The burgers are fantastic but something sour (other than the pickles) would be very appreciated.

Yelp
7th Street Burger is always such a vibe. Thank you Yelp for this experience! Came at around 7pm on a Friday and were able to get seating for 3. I especially appreciate that they had outdoor heaters to warm us up. The food was served quickly after ordering. - Double Burger - Looking at the burger, it doesn't seem very big BUT it was very filling. I appreciate how juicy it is (kind of reminds me of In-n-Out) and how saucy it was, but I did wish that there were more vegetables as it was very meaty. Also, I'm not quite sure I would pay $10 for this burger, but I'm glad it was free! - Fries - Fries are crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. You did not need to get extra ketchup to go with it although you most definitely can. Overall, great experience at 7th Street Burger!

Yelp
My first elite event was definitely something to remember. I was so excited that I actually forgot to take good pictures 7th st burgers will always be my NYC version of In & Out burger. The quality of burgers and the way they prepare the burgers is just amazing and how I would do it myself. And the fries were also made the way I like it. The staff were really busy and it was definitely super chaotic however they were still super nice and helpful. Prepared the burgers fast and delicious. I can tell they love what they do and i hope that doesn't change!!!

Yelp
Came here on Saturday late afternoon and the place seemed a mess. Ordered a burger, fries, and drink. Drink selection was either Mexican coke or water. Burger was okay, just a regular burger only semi filling but at least it was freshly made. The fries were actually really good and perfectly salted. I think this location has yet to find a balance between food output and foot traffic because we waited 20 minutes for 2 burgers and fries, and heard some people waiting for over 40min for just the fries. There's not enough seating space so those who come in groups claim one of the 4 outdoor tables and then go to order. So either have to get a table asap or eat on the sidewalk standing. I think overall this is a 3/5 stars. If there's no wait, then go for it. But if you see people standing around and waiting, maybe consider another place.

Bonnie T.

Yelp
Because I'm used to the east village's 7th street burger's high quality, I was a little let down by the lack of structural integrity of this locations burgers. First off, great location. It is refreshing to see a more quick and affordable meal option in the area that long wait, sit down pasta restaurants rule. You have Torissi in one corner, Rubi Rosa down the street, Parm as your neighbor, and still you rise, 7th st! Overall the location on a Friday evening was popping, as expected. The cashier at the register had either had a day and was just trying to get by, or didn't give a f*, because his demeanor was so lukewarm he seemed to not have a care in the world! This feels like a good stop when you're tired from a long day of shopping and want to get your food, scarf it down, and gtfo. Burgers themselves were delicious, as expected of the chain. They never miss with the oozy melted cheese and the nestling of the sweet onions in between layers. I avoid pickles when I order burgers elsewhere but I allow the pickles in this burger to stay because they don't offend me, haha! Fries were piping hot, and generous. Although i wish they had a little more seasoning, what's there to complain about really? We always opt for mexican cokes when we swing by, as they always hit with a greasy meal. This time was no different, the carbonation hurts sooooo gooood ! I appreciated the heat lamps outside and generally how quick they try to be about churning the food out. 7th street seems to be a well-oiled machine regardless of location. Overall, good place for a fast and relatively affordable meal in comparison to its counterparts nearby. I would return if I was desperado and needed something to get by! Thank you to Yelp and Mulberry 7th St burger team for this event!

Yelp
It was a burger and fries date night! This time we had the pleasure of dining at 7th Street Burger, and I must say, it was quite an experience. As someone who had never tried a smash burger before, I had no idea what to expect when I walked through the doors. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the deliciousness that awaited me. To start off, the burger itself was not only filling but also incredibly tasty. The flavors were perfectly balanced, and each bite was a delightful explosion of deliciousness. Accompanying the burger were the hot and perfectly cooked fries. They were crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and simply irresistible. It's safe to say that both the burger and the fries were a match made in culinary heaven. When my partner and I arrived, the crowd was just starting to build. However, the line moved swiftly, and we were fortunate enough to secure a prime spot outside where we could enjoy our meal. Our counter attendant, Miguel, greeted us with a smile and provided excellent service throughout our visit. He was friendly, attentive, and made sure to keep an eye on our order. In fact, he even gave us a heads up when our food was ready, ensuring that we received it piping hot and fresh. One noteworthy feature of 7th Street Burger is their beverage selection. They offer Mexican Coke, which, in my opinion, is the greatest kind of Coke. It's those little touches that add to the overall experience and make it all the more enjoyable. They also have Sprite for those who prefer a non-caffeinated option. One thing that stood out to me about 7th Street Burger is that their burgers and fries are made to order. This means that you can expect your meal to arrive fresh and steaming hot. There's something special about having a burger that has just come off the grill--it adds an extra layer of satisfaction to the dining experience. All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to 7th Street Burger. The food was delicious, the service was top-notch, and the atmosphere was vibrant. It's the kind of place where the "kool kids" hang out, and I can see why. I'm already looking forward to my next visit, and I highly recommend this spot to anyone in search of a fantastic burger and fries.

Annie B.

Yelp
Came here through the elite program! Food/Drink: pretty good burger but pretty pricey!!! And my 1st smash burger but I think it wasn't for me. The fries were amazing though!! The perfect amount of seasoning and texture Service: Friendly service and they made our food fresh! Atmosphere: really clean and minimalist interior! No seating inside and outside has 4 small tables

Gab G.

Yelp
Another great location of 7th St! I tried a single cheeseburger and fries and both were fantastic. They had limited outdoor seating when I visited in April 2024. Super friendly employees here, too!

Heather A.

Yelp
Went w boyf an early Sunday evening. The restaurant was busy but everything went very smoothly. The staff was very friendly. 2 double cheeseburgers, 3 fries, & both house sauce & ghost Pepper sauce.. This is mY Boyf's favorite burger in the city very simple and well executed . We only received 2 orders of Fries, they were a little soggy, but had a great flavor. The sauces are delicious. The ghost Pepper is actually very spicy. Would definitely return !

Aminah K.

Yelp
I heard these burgers were comparable to In and Out burgers but there's no comparison imo. This burger was not even close to being as good. The menu is pretty simple. I got a cheeseburger which came with grilled onions, American cheese, pickles and house sauce. The patty was a little dry and underseasoned. They skimped on the toppings and did not add enough sauce. The bun was pillowy and soft. This location had a couple outdoor tables but no interior seating.

Andy L.

Yelp
Reallly cute spot! This location is wider than all of their other spots so it feels more spacious and they have proper seating! I highly recommending coming by and checking this place out if you're craving a solid burger nearby!

Olivia P.

Yelp
I am literally obsessed with 7th street. Their burgers are incredible and the loaded fries are insane. I highly recommend the loaded fries or the double cheeseburger. All the ingredients are delicious! This location is great because it's right in the center of Soho and they have outdoor seating. Perfect for a quick bite while out shopping!

Brooke K.

Yelp
New 7th street burger that just opened in Nolita. I ordered the single cheeseburger which was good. Burger was juicy and flavorful. The locations are pretty consistent with the taste. No complaints there! The space is small but there is room for tables if they decide to put any. I think that would be helpful. Even a counter space would be good. Summer will be too warm to eat outside.

Charlotte W.

Yelp
Delicious. Burger and fries came out super quick! I got the Impossible Burger and it was SOOOO yummy. For a second I questioned if it was really vegetarian! haha I have to come back and bring my friends. There is a small seating area outside if you want to sit down and enjoy your burger.

Aagdolla G.

Yelp
The burger and fries was good and consistent like it was at other location in park slope. I definitely wish the the sprite was not so flat which I have no idea how this is possible if the bottle was closed when I got it. This spot is simple and if you need just some basic fries with nothing extra come here. There is a place for everything. No extra fancy burger n sauce, just your regular cheese burger with 1 pickle.

Dave G.

Yelp
I would say four stars is spot on! Like all the other seventh Street burgers, it's the same simple menu of burgers fries and either coke sprite or water. I ordered the double cheeseburger and fries. The fries are decent, but not my favorite. They're salty enough and somewhat crispy, but I like them thinner. Still decent fries. The burger is excellent! The bread reminds me of a potato roll, the meat is flavorful, not overcookedand it's a quick and painless transaction. I highly recommend seventh Street burger.

Sofia L.

Yelp
this new location was pretty small, which is what I expected, but was pretty neat and the workers were quick to take our orders. they had outdoor seating, which most 7th street burgers don't have, which I found really convenient for my friends to eat at. this was my first time eating at 7th street burgers, and while tasty, I wasn't extremely mind blown. found the patty itself to be pretty flavorless, but the sauce, onions, and cheese made the burger taste waayyyy better. fries were pretty crispy, and the special fries were the best part of my meal. absolutely loved the bun they used, too! would def recommend this place for a meal for under $20!

Apolonia E.

Yelp
The new location for 7th Street Burger offers a charming atmosphere with outdoor seating that adds to the experience. However, during my visit, all the tables were occupied, and while the staff weren't particularly friendly, they weren't rude either. The burger itself was solid, and considering the quality, the price point was reasonable.

Ashley W.

Yelp
Surprisingly delicious. As someone who doesn't like burgers all the much, this was was really good and not too fatty feeling. It's a smash burger so it's pretty thing which was good and ratio all the ingredients and bread was right on the money. Delightful service as well and nice outdoor seating options.

David T.

Yelp
Solid smash burger. Quick service, good crisp and crunchy fries. Get loaded fries for a good time! If I'm having a craving, 7th street always does me right.

Alyssa C.

Yelp
Honestly one of the best burgers of our lives Fries were 3.5/5 but still hit the spot! Quick service, small space w seating outside.

Jen W.

Yelp
I love 7th St burger. I crave their soft squishy burger buns, so lucky for us, there are plenty of restos around the city. I've been to every one I've had the pleasure of walking by. The line inside was short and the staff was friendly. After placing my order, I was told it would take about 15 minutes. There are some very cute stores on this street so I made the best of the wait and strolled in and out of a few. The outside seating area was full when my order was ready, so I walked over to the Hudson River Park for an exceptional sunset dining location. Had my tasty beyond burger with crispy fries & and a cold glass bottled Sprite at one of the benches on the pier. It was lovely. The next day my sinuses got the best of me, and had me down for a week, so I'm glad I was able to enjoy this indulgence before that in fun frustration. Thank you to Yelp, 7th St. Burger, and this beautiful city of New York that always provides the most amazing experiences.

Christopher N.

Yelp
I personally don't understand the hype about this place. It's a good smash burger but not the best I've ever had like some are claiming. Service is pretty quick and servers are friendly. Pretty small place so you're definitely shoulder to shoulder with other guests so there's a nice community aspect to it.

Danyang Z.

Yelp
Delicious burgers and fries - quick place to stop by to grab lunch to bring back to work!

Ana D.

Yelp
Really solid cheeseburger for a decent price. First time trying 7th burger and I was not disappointed. Fries were also great. Cashier was friendly. No complaints.

Cate T.

Yelp
A great new location of such a good smashburger spot! Had some outdoor tables and a little bit of indoor space, and was a cute simple setup. The checkout person was very kind and the burgers and animal style fries were amazing as usual.
