The Best Restaurants In North Beach - Miami - The Infatuation

"We love this Venezuelan spot for numerous reasons. But primarily because it has the best cazon empanada in all of Miami. All the empanadas here are, in fact, great and have enough filling to make you feel like you should have ordered just one. They also have tequeños, cachapas, mandocas, patacones, chicharrónes—and if all that sounds good to you, then just get the 7tyone sampler, which comes with mini versions of all of that (plus their excellent empanadas)." - ryan pfeffer, mariana trabanino, virginia otazo

The 9 Best Venezuelan Empanadas In Miami - Miami - The Infatuation

"We love this spot for numerous reasons. It’s in North Beach (the true locals beach, according to us) and it has the best cazon out of all the spots we tried. It is, in fact, the only cazon that resembles the ones in Margarita. Their empanadas are on the bigger end and have enough filling to make you feel like you should have ordered just one. This place is also conveniently five minutes from the beach, so you can do a quick empanada pit stop and not delay your beach trip. And listen, we've had Parguito Gourmet’s empanadas margariteñas, but these are way better." - Julia Malave

The Best Restaurants in North Beach and Bal Harbour in Miami, Florida | Eater Miami

"This Venezuelan restaurant and coffee bar in Normandy Isle is run by native chefs Abraham Herrera and Angel di Frisco, who dish out a casual all-day menu of traditional fare such as empanadas, chicharrones (fried pork chunks), mandocas (deep-fried cornmeal ring), and cachapas (sweet corn pancakes). A variety of the country’s famed arepas are also on the menu, from a simple cheese filling to a shrimp and avocado version. The staples are complemented by American pub grub such as burgers, pastas, a chicken wings. To wash it down, there’s iced and hot coffee, smoothies, and juices such as mango and papelon con limon (traditional Venezuelan lime juice)." - Juliana Accioly

Google
This small Venezuelan restaurant exudes loungy vibes, it was super elegance with a homely charm that was really welcoming despite my families embarrassing jokes. I came with my father and sisters to celebrate my late mother’s birthday and we were enchanted by the warm ambiance of the spot service from our waitress, her name was Litzy—whose hospitality rivaled that of high-end establishments in Collins— very hospitality, showing genuine care and as attentiveness as anyone working in the industry should be. She genuinely looks like she enjoys her job too, such great service. The food was nothing short of amazing, coming out of the kitchen with impeccable timing. My sister and I savored the picanha steak, each paired with distinct sides that complemented our main entree. My sister had the hibiscus tea , super refreshing she let me try some. The tequenos we shared were a delightful highlight, some authentic Venezuelan food here, we ordered them little things twice! My father loved his burger, as well as his cappuccino after. I may drop in and get that next time I’m here , which is a guarantee. Everything about this spot was great , blending Venezuelan tradition with refined execution, I’m definitely coming back and not just because I live in the area, but why haven’t I heard of this gem before? I pass by every day and I’m glad so glad we finally sat and enjoyed the scene, the service and the food. Chevere ! peep the videos. I put those extra fries in the tequeno bowl by the way.

I had an excellent dining experience at this restaurant. The food was delicious, well-prepared, and thoughtfully presented. What made the visit even more enjoyable was the outstanding service provided by Litza and Jelyn. They were both warm, attentive, and professional, ensuring everything was perfect from start to finish. Highly recommended for both the cuisine and the top-notch hospitality. Will be back again !!!

**5-Star Review: An Unforgettable Venezuelan Dining Experience!** If you're looking for authentic Venezuelan flavors served with warmth and exceptional hospitality, this restaurant is a must-visit! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a vibrant atmosphere and the delicious aroma of traditional dishes. The food was absolutely outstanding. We started with the **arepas**—crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and stuffed with flavorful fillings. The **pabellón criollo** was a masterpiece, with tender shredded beef, sweet plantains, black beans, and rice that brought a perfect balance of flavors. And don’t even get me started on the **tequeños**—golden, cheesy, and utterly addictive! What truly made our experience special was the **fantastic service**, especially from **Liliana**. She was incredibly welcoming, attentive, and full of great recommendations. Her cheerful personality and genuine care for our dining experience made us feel right at home. It’s clear she takes pride in ensuring every guest leaves happy! Whether you're new to Venezuelan cuisine or a longtime fan, this restaurant delivers on every level. Delicious food, a cozy ambiance, and service that goes above and beyond—thanks especially to Liliana for making our visit so memorable. We can’t wait to come back! **Highly recommended! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐**

Google
This place is a hidden gem! Hands down the best Venezuelan food in the Bay. I’ve been coming here for a while, and it just keeps getting better. The service can be a bit distracted at times, but hey, it’s Saturday! The food is consistently great, made with quality ingredients.

Yelp
This is such a cute Venezuelan coffee shop/ cafe! I stopped here after church for a quick snack and a coffee. I asked which iced coffee they recommended and I went with the dirty chai. It tasted like a milkshake, it was so good and sweet with a taste of cinnamon. It was a bit thicker than a regular coffee. To eat, I had the tuna fish arepa. It said on the menu it was a must get. The arepa was warm and soft and their fresh tuna salad had great flavor (could have put less mayo). The heavy taste of scallion made it so delicious. They service is pretty fast and friendly. Its quite small inside, and they have limited outdoor seating.

Yelp
Food was good But they served us with old prices menu And they charged more without advising first A little pricy for this venue

Yelp
I wanted to love this place but it fell a little short for me. The food was good and the service was also good but I just wasn't wowed. I will say it felt very authentic. I loved the papelon and the sauces on the table reminded me of every Venezuelan small town restaurant but I still didn't love it.

Yelp
7tyone is the best! Went to this place at least ten times while I was staying in Miami, one of the only places around that had a matcha latte, which was delicious. Kept meaning to make time and go for some Venezuelan food, the Venezuelan food was great. Also tried a breakfast sandwich there which I highly recommend. This place is small but mighty. If you're planning on sitting and eating go a little early. But the staff is incredible, so kind. I felt so welcomed. Whenever I'm back in Miami I'll be stopping by.
google avatar

Yelp
The food here is really good and the service has always been great. The chicken empanada was so flavorful and the carbonara pasta was also good. The sifrina arepa was huge but the shredded chicken was mixed within the avocado sauce which wasn't what we were expecting. The outside seating is beautiful too.

Yelp
I stumbled upon this place when I was in Miami in search of some yummy cachapas. The food was delicious and the service was great. Their Cachapas were so good I took some home with me.

Yelp
Very cozy bakery cafeteria in North Miami , the place is little and very clean and the staff is super friendly. Great the welcoming and the overalls experience. The Pan de jamon is outstanding. Recommend. Will visit soon to enjoy other items from the breakfast menu.
google avatar

Claire H.

Yelp
Food is amazing. I always get the passion fruit smoothie or pineapple smoothie it's so fresh. Coffee is pretty good too. the empanadas are a must: I like the sweet plantains and cheese ones because I don't eat any meat, my partner loves all of them. Next time I will try something else because the full plates looked so yummy! The service is good, friendly staff, but order ahead or don't be in a rush, they make it from scratch so it's not going to be fast, but worth the wait. Definitely a go to spot if you live in the area, or just passing through
google avatar

Yelp
I finally tried something other than the breakfast croissant and I am officially obsessed with this lil Venezuelan spot near my house! I got the Venezuelan breakfast which comes with your choice of beef or chicken, mini arepas, black beans, avocado, eggs cooked your way (fried, scrambled, over easy) and sweet plantains! You get all of the best Venezuelan samples in one breakfast dish. 10/10. As for the cachapa, it's the best I've ever had. I'm no Venezuelan but I've tried several and none compare to the one here.

Yelp
Went back in April after a Heat game, Yelp just reminded me to review. FIRE food, and excellent service. We went near closing and were prepared to do takeout but they sat us on the patio and never made us feel rushed even as they were doing their closing tasks inside. Great vibes from the staff, flavorful and generously stuffed arepas.

Yelp
Good soup. Friendly service. Venezuelan cuisine. The owners take pride in their work!

Yelp
Fresh authentic and made to order just how mom would make. You cannot go wrong with anything on the menu. Friendly staff

Yelp
The food was good and was a large portion. But we asked for water 3 times and they never gave us any. Pretty weird, it distracted from the meal because they kept telling us they would bring it out and then didn't. Maybe because we were sitting outside? Unsure, but it was a weird experience.
google avatar

Moises S.

Yelp
Best Venezuelan restaurant I have been to. I'm originally from Miami and now live in another state. My mom brought us here for the first time and we loved it. The owner and staff and super nice, the food is 100% authentic, and the atmosphere is welcoming. Definitely recommend it to anyone that would like to try something new or are a Venezuelan and want to eat some home style comfort food.

Seth T.

Yelp
A must try in Miami. We came for the cookie crescent and left full and happy from our empeñadas (the best we have ever had) and our iced coffees. Service was quick and very polite and the restaurant was very fun with nice seating inside and out.

Yelp
Delicious!!!! Everything good. Todo es delicioso. Demasiado bueno. Mi comida favorita es la cachapa con queso de mano
google avatar

Tinesi P.

Yelp
Okay, I love the food but I'm starting to think the new servers are the issue. I miss the old servers I order an iced dirty chai latte and the server brought it hot and insisted I ordered it this way ( I know I didn't I love all things iced). Also, there is a language barrier so I will attribute it to that. When I ask questions about the menu they think I am placing a large order. So the 1 star stays off. I hope when I return to Miami these servers will be gone and there would be a new set I still will recommend there food! Just be patients (and tip is already included in the check).

Yelp
It all depends on what time you get there The food is good but sometimes it depends on the cook

Maria P.

Yelp
We like this place, we go there at least 3 times a month . we order some drip coffee to go and the coffee was warm not hot at all. also hair in the croissant we order . Please put a ribbon on the hair if they are handling the food ,that way the hair and also the clothing don't touch the food. thank you

Yelp
Tenia tiempo sin visitar este lugar! La comida estuvo excelente! Pedimos un sampler variado de entrada, el cual traía Cachapas, empanadas, tequeños, pork, mandocas y tostones! Todo estuvo increible, best tostones with beef ever! La salsa verde, de las mejores Que he probado! Y el guava sauce de los tequeños INCREIBLE! 5 stars!! Thanks for a great food and service!

Yelp
Best Empanadas in Miami! My fave is the Cazón, full of fresh corvina fish with red peppers and onions in a crunchy corn crust. WOW! Order two to-go and thank me later! Mix it with an ice-cold Pilar and it's heaven.
google avatar

Yelp
Food was great!!!! Service was awesome! Ambiance was great! It's a little warm inside but food is worth it!!!! Delicious latte and food is amazing overall!

Yelp
So glad I stopped here for breakfast on Thursday morning. We came around 9am and it was pretty empty so we were able to choose where to sit inside. Our waiter was friendly and helpful. We ordered the mini cachapas (easiest way to explain what this is : corn based pancakes served with cheese), mini cheese empanadas and two different arepas. The food was delicious and we were very full afterwards. Thank you guys for the great experience!

Ivan H.

Yelp
I had a Venezuelan Chicha, it was good but it's sweet. For lunch I ordered a Venezuelan burger with french fries. It was really good. The service was awesome.

Yelp
7tyone is a small Venezuelan café in Normandy Village. Paid street parking. If you come at brunch time on the weekend, be prepared for a possible wait for a table and food, as this place can get very busy. The inside makes me feel a bit claustrophobic, but they do have a few outdoor tables. The menu was more expensive than what I expected, but the food came in good portions and was very good. I really liked the Venezuelan breakfast. Make sure you try all 3 of their sauces. There's a cilantro one, a garlic aioli-like one, and a creamy hot sauce that is really hot and flavorful.
google avatar

Liz R.

Yelp
Wow what a change! Just came by for brunch today and it was amazing! The service was so fast, the breakfast was delicious and we had the best time. I think they hired more staff and enhanced their menu since we last came in. We will be regulars again!
google avatar

Matt L.

Yelp
Small restaurant in North Miami Beach with incredible Venezuelan arepas and empanadas. Their coffee is out of this world. Will definitely add it to my list of must go places in Miami.
google avatar

Yelp
I was so excited to try this place as my husband raves about it. I joined him for lunch, and I am sad to say the service was awful. The waiter was borderline condescending and essentially ignored us the whole time we were there. We kept seeing everyone who arrived after us get their food from the other waitress. When we finally asked her (not him cause he was no where to be found) when we were getting our food because by that time we had lost our appetite and were about to cancel our order, she went back to get our food that had just been sitting out. That being said, the food was tasty. However, it was barely hot when we got it, and I ended up getting a tummy ache.

Yelp
Best Venezuelan food in Miami Beach. I'm native so I can tell you it is authentic. Service is good and ambiance is relaxed

Yelp
Liliana and her team are so amazing the food is the best I eat here 2-3 times a week and never had a bad experience! love this place!

Yelp
So much yummy Venezuelan goodness. I am not too terribly familiar with Venezuelan food and apparently my questions showed that. Our lovely server paved the path to a delightful culinary experience. Loved everything! Food was delicious. Service was outstanding and welcoming. They also offer delivery. Come check this place out! Salud!

Yelp
Outstanding friendly service, Amazing food, and incredible coffee are all highlights of 7tyone. I've never been disappointed with any of the breakfasts I've tried, and the Arepas are the best I've had. It just doesn't get any better than 7tyone.
google avatar

Courtney K.

Yelp
I really like how extensive the menu is here! This restaurant is super cute and cozy. You could easily go here and eat alone, or go with a group of friends. Their chicken and Gouda arepas are really flavorful Street parking available

Yelp
Love love this place ! I was visiting Miami and heard about them on IG and so worth it the drive up there , it was raining so hard that day but I had to try this place and I don't regret it at all. Everything was delicious , the plantains, the juice I mean everything . Service was nice but they forgot a couple of things a couple of times so we had to constantly called them but whatever super worth it . Live this place !! Def coming back if I go to mimi again
google avatar

BK W.

Yelp
I used to live up the street from 7tyone for two years and loved getting their empanadas. I usually go with the Molina or cheese. They have a large selection of good size empanadas that are reasonably priced. The green sauce that they serve with the empanadas are delicious. Service is fairly good and I would certainly come back here if I'm ever in the neigborhood.

Maya C.

Yelp
I work nearby and i think they have amazing service! I get a delicious soursop smoothie with whatever fruit i want and a sugary pistachio croissant and its like heaven.
google avatar

Lou D.

Yelp
Cute little coffee shop and nice aesthetic. One of the best empanadas in miami beach I've tasted
google avatar

Reyes A.

Yelp
This place should have the option of a 10 star rating. Best Venezuelan food by far! The sampler option is great to try different items on the menu(cachapas, empanadas, petacon, tequeños, cochino frito, & mandoca)the arepa was awesome.

Yelp
I've been meaning to come here for a while now since it's just a 5 minute car ride from home, and I love supporting the North Beach business district. There's so much that's offered, and this place that's got such high reviews deserved a chance for a visit. The restaurant is located next to Silver Ace Hardware store that's actually on Normandy Drive and NOT 71st as their name eludes, just west of the Normandy Fountain about a block or so. It's not a big place, seating around 24 people inside and a 4 top outside. Last night when I went, every table was occupied but one, which was where I sat. Tables are a little small, so if you're a four top and order a couple of apps or arepas and 4 main courses, you'd need to finish the apps first to make room for the main dishes. Even then it will be tight. I stopped by here twice in 3 days; the first day I had a simple arepa with cheese, and last night I ordered a few things just to make sure their other items were just as good...and trust me...it was. 5/5 Cachapas with Queso de Mano $8.99 is the best arepa I've ever had. So light and fresh tasting, nothing like what you'd get from The Youth Fair or Santa's Enchanta Forest; these could be eaten with only a fork and resembled a light fluffy pancake. The cheese they used also was a nice light tasting that complimented the corn arepa itself. I also liked how the arepa was a little gritty where you could taste the corn. 4/5 Focaccia $6.99 was a large portion. Came with slices of parmesan cheese on top scattered through out the bread and complimented the pasta I ordered. Looks like they used a 10" pizza to create this item. The only thing is that is was a little dried out...maybe over baked in the oven. 5/5 Classic Margherita $8.50 was an excellent pizza. It was a little oily on top for my taste but that's due the the quality of cheese they used; they executed this dish perfectly. The crust was even delicious. 3/5 Rigatoni Bolognese $9.99 was a great portion and ok tasting pasta dish. Came in piping hot and was thoroughy enjoyed with the flat bread I ordered. Between the herbs of the flatbread and the pasta, PLUS the large portion they served, I had leftovers for the next day which is always nice. It lacked some flavor though...needed to add salt to it. 5/5 Service on both occasions was lovely; I've only see waitresses here and evey single one of them are very accomodating and give you service with a smile. If your bill exceeds $40.00, they'll add 18% gratuity towards the check (stated on the menu). All in all, a wonderful place to have a great simple meal that's executed without pretentiousness. I can't wait to go back and try some of their other dishes especially after seeing a stuffed arepa with meat. it was gigantic! I just hope I won't have to wait for a table next time since this place is really tracking with all the locals...
google avatar

Derick D.

Yelp
What separates them from other similar Venezuelan places? FRESHNESS. From their juices, to their empanadas, and arepas, everything is prepared from scratch and to order. This will result in a little longer wait times, but it is well worth it. Outside of my tia's kitchen where she prepares fried empanadas on the spot for me, this was the freshest empanada I have ever had. You can taste that clean, rich, freshly fried cornmeal in every bite. I order the shrimp empanada and the shrimp was cooked wonderfully, seasoned brilliantly, and fresh as could be. I also ordered the jugo de parchita, passion fruit juice. This is blended passion fruit. That's it. No added fillers. It was refreshing and delicious. Reina Pepiada Arepa was fantastic. Filled to the brim with delicious chicken and avocado mix. Arepa was cooked perfectly. Ended the meal with a delicious cortadito. Service was fantastic. There is plenty of street parking in front. Highly recommend for delicious Venezuelan cuisine.

Yelp
It was my first time and I was really excited because I have been following there Instagram page for awhile now. I was heading to the beach that morning and decided to try it for breakfast. I went with just my boyfriend and we sat down immediately. But took awhile for someone to take our order. Finally we entered our order which was simple enough I thought. We ordered an arepa and eggs each. I ordered a latte which took 35 minutes to make it to my table. I was getting so impatient I wanted to get up and leave. They served our eggs together on one plate which was very confusing at first. The food looks better in pictures not worth the very slow service. They need better management to assign jobs and tasks for better flow. I recommend going to doggis arepa or flavorish bakery. That's where I'll be.
google avatar

Andrea T.

Yelp
I am giving 2 stars because of the horrible customer service! The food is amazing, however the "manager" is extremely rude. My husband went to pick up an order I placed through Uber Eats. He politely said hello and said he came to pick up his order. The "manager" replied "it's not ready and you can cancel it I don't care". I refuse to believe such a rude individual is the manager of a restaurant. She wouldn't give my husband her name but claimed she was the manager. She was rude to everyone else that came after my husband as well. It is a shame because the food is really good, but with that type of customer service they definitely lost a loyal customer. I am very disappointed as I have been a customer since they opened and never had an issue like this. So to the "manager" if you happen to see this, you might want to take some classes on customer service especially in a restaurant.

Yelp
Love this place! They have significantly improved on their service and their arepas are mouth watering. The full equipo arepa is my favorite! So glad to have an amazing place like this on our little island.

Yelp
I love it here! The Food is amazing, the coffee is amazing and the people who work there are so friendly I would eat here every single day if I could. The atmosphere is very tranquilo and relaxing, they play nice music as well. The menu has sometime for everyone and truly authentic Venezuelan options as well as American. This is a must try!

Yelp
So i'm attaching photos from 2 separate occasions of me visiting in the same week! Lol First time I ate here was for breakfast. My fiancé had to go to the bank (directly across the street). He had to wait awhile so he decided to grab some grub. He had an omelette and this Argentinian drink (forgot the name). It was so good he called me up there to eat!! I had the same thing. The veggie omelette was SO GOOD! The veggies were sautéed perfectly the flavor was on point and the potatoes that they come with had the perfect crisp on them, just how I like it!! Th drink was delicious as well, it has cinnamon and coconut milk in it. I mean, I'm literally going o go eat there after I finish posting this!! Lol Go try it, you won't be disappointed

Yelp
I definitely will go back to this place when I go back to Miami. The food was excellent! I really wanted to try everything on the menu if I could. It's a quite a ways from South Beach but it's worth the trek.

Yelp
La Comida divina y muy buen servicio. Pet friendly, familiar, tranquilo. También hay Happy Hour de lunes a viernes 4-7
