805 Restaurants Hendon

Really great food and excellent service. We were served by several waiters/waitresses. The waitress was exceptionally warm and kind and very hardworking. Sorry I've forgotten her name but she is quite petite with short black hair. The food hits the spot every time we go. The atmosphere is not buzzy or exciting and it is a bit too dark, you almost can't see what you are eating.

Came out here with a friend to hangout after a busy week of work. I’ve been to other 805 restaurants but this one right here is one I’d remember after the experience we had. We had a young man attending to us, dude was okay but we had a very awkward conversation about expenses that didn’t go very well. Appeared like dude was saying we couldn’t afford the food and kinda felt we were monitored until we actually paid but hey 🤷🏽‍♂️. Anyway, the food was okay. The Asun was really good I must say, wasn’t to impressed with the pounded yam and egusi and the Origin tasted watered down, I’ve had Origin many times before definitely didn’t taste like that. I went to Monika for my birthday and I must say the food there was so much better than any of the 805 restaurants. Years ago I’d always suggest 805 but the quality isn’t the same anymore.

The restaurant is nice. It wasn’t anything special though sadly. My family and I booked a table and the lighting the setting holds is so dim! My parents had to use flashlights to see their menus 😭! As for the pricing of these dishes available, snails for £28 is daylight robbery in my opinion… we did get puff puff on the house due to a few of their food not being accessible, though, they weren’t soft. They were a mix of puff puff and buns - we weren’t a fan. For starters, we ordered beef suya and chicken suya, the lamb wasn’t available ☹️ they were nice, but, the chicken did have a lot of bones. Now our mains! My parents each ordered egusi with pounded yam, one with goat meat and one with beef. The goat meat was NOT NICE! We don’t now if it wasn’t cleaned properly, but it wasn’t halal. The taste was not it. The egusi was mediocre too. Luckily they blessed the soups with stock fish! My brother and I both got the Monika Croaker Fish with a side of plantain and salad. The bones in this fish ehhhh! Chai! I was choking for the first few minutes. Well that’s the consequence of eating fish I guess. It was nice but nothing amazing, everything they gave us was not thrilling- I was expecting more ☹️ One of the servers seemed nervous but it was nice as my mum was teasing him kindly. Very funny! He set a nice atmosphere and gave his opinions on a few of the dishes the restaurant served. In the end we ended up full and left. I don’t know if it was just this branch of the 805 restaurants but to make this fair, I probably need to try their other locations 🫠.

Tasty food, that did not disappoint. Finger licking good. Had the oxtail stew and okra with egusi and my partner had beans and plantain with grilled chicken wings. Also had alcoholic chapman cocktail and pina colada. Great service by Ranadeer who we’ve met on multiple visits to establishment. He always gives service with a smile. Have tried many stews on previous visits and non disappointed. Worth a visit.

I ordered jollof rice with plantain and assorted meat, moi-moi, efo riro with pounded yam and assorted meat, and efo egusi with pounded yam and assorted meat. I paid £23 for each of the dishes. At first, I thought it was expensive, but the portions, especially the meat, were generous. So, it the costs were reasonable and the food was extremely delicious.

Went there yesterday with a colleague of mine for an unplanned quick lunch / early dinner , the host( male ) was so welcoming and kind. He was very attentive , I ordered lamb suya, plantain and Chapman. The food was amazing so delicious and tender, drink was amazing & place was clean I like the fact that it’s not a fishy smell that you typically get from Nigerian restaurants. I love that they added a candle in the toilets makes a difference and makes it smell nice . I will definitely be back , thank you for your hospitality.

This is a Nigerian food restaurant. For a Nigerian food restaurant in London, I found the ambience to be surprisingly decent. The food was good considering this is London. It probably wouldn't score that high if it was situated in Nigeria. As is standard for Nigerian restaurants in London, the food is somewhat overpriced for what you are getting. A good experience and choice if you want to enjoy Nigerian food.

I came here with two friends who were Nigerian and I allowed them to pick what I would eat after sharing to them my curiosities of what pounded yam looked like. They came here on a previous occasion and enjoyed the food My friend picked the egusi soup paired with pounded yam that contained a mix of beef and seafood. For an authentic experience, my friend showed me how to eat with our hands for the first time which I proceeded to follow. It was a lovely cultural experience. The food was flavourful. Had a slight kick, but it was tolerable. Also tried my friend’s okra soup and pepe soup, lovely. Service was decent. All-in-all a great cultural culinary experience. Though on the pricier side.
