Loqui Arts District Review - Arts District - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"The second location of Culver City’s great taco spot Loqui is a lot like the original: You order at the counter, there’s a nice little patio, and they’ve got utterly fantastic flour tortillas, made in-house. You should always opt for them over the corn ones, especially if you order one of Loqui’s combo plates, because then you can use the soft, Frisbee-sized tortillas to scoop up the rice, guacamole, protein (our favorite is the chicken), and pinto beans. When you’re in the Arts District and want something affordable - but also want to be able to sit down and maybe have a beer while you eat - Loqui is a great option. Just make sure to get a pack of tortillas to go." - Brett Keating

Yelp
Death & Co - Arts District Been here over half a dozen times. Bar over Tables--better service, more attentive. If you're in a group, a table makes sense, but expect loud noise and slower service. When seated at a table, getting a second round can be a hassle, so we just left instead. Drinks started strong on my first visit but dipped in quality over time--almost wrote it off. However, my latest visit for my partner's birthday changed that. New seasonal menu, and out of five drinks, only one was just okay. The hot cocktail? Surprisingly the best. Bartender was attentive, knowledgeable, and gave great descriptions. Happy to see them evolving. Drink Ratings: * Emerald Grove - 9/10, unique take on a piña colada * Serenity Now - 10/10, warm cocktail, so soothing, felt like it was good for you * Netherstone - 9.5/10, simple, clean, yet complex--could easily drink 10 of these * Hanoi Cafe - 9.5/10, ISI charge cream was amazing, balanced with a strong yet smooth cocktail * Yondu - 7/10, spirit-forward Food Note: The crispy potatoes - 5/10. Extremely crunchy, almost burnt--some actually were. More like potato chips than crispy potatoes, with only a few that were light and fluffy inside. Not bad, but wouldn't order again. Appreciate the effort on the queso, but an infused aioli would've paired better.

Yelp
I had my first Death & Co experience at the original NYC location, so I was excited to check out the LA outpost. The vibes here are definitely different--more spacious, a bit sleeker, and a livelier crowd compared to the cozy, intimate feel of the New York spot. I came on a Thursday around 7 PM, and it was packed, but I was lucky enough to snag a seat at the bar. Service was great--attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. However, the drinks just didn't hit the same way they did in New York. They were well-crafted but lacked the same depth and balance I remembered. Maybe it was the atmosphere, maybe just a difference in execution, but something was missing. Overall, it's a solid cocktail bar with great service, but if you're expecting the same magic as the NYC location, you might walk away feeling like something got lost in translation. Would I come back? Maybe, but I'd probably explore other LA cocktail spots first.

Yelp
We made a reservation to this place because we thought we wanted to come here. After seeing more pictures and the ambiance we decided to not go. Rainy day, so we made plans closer to home and forgot to cancel our reservation. A bit understandable if this place was sold out daily but to charge $60 for not showing up is ridiculous.

Yelp
Drinks are amazing. Service is great, the crowd was great vibes too. Perfect little spot to enjoy really good cocktails! I noticed they rotate their drink menu often. What you got last time might not be on the menu when you come back!

Yelp
On our second visit, we went for Valentine's Day and made reservations for 6pm. Over the course of the evening, we ordered the Kanzen, Jailbreak, Short Change Hero, Midnight Haze, Buko Gimlet, and Serenity Now, all of which were very good. The food was excellent, as were our servers Izzy and Jeremy. It was a fun way to celebrate a birthday evening.

Yelp
My friends have had this spot on their radar for some time and it worked out that we were in the area right before they opened, so we tried our luck at getting a table upon walk-in. We lined up outside the door about 30 minutes before they opened and were the 4th party in line. In just a few minutes after, we had multiple parties line up after us. Our party of 8 was sat in a booth toward the back half of the space. We had to squeeze a bit but honestly it let us hear each other better haha. I can also see this being a great date spot. The range of drinks was wide and every bartender/staff member was extremely knowledgeable. Our waitress gave us solid recommendations for each question or vibe we threw out - super grateful! Their cookie was also delicious.

Yelp
Great cocktails. Dark, moody, elegant east coast vibes, excellent service; shoutout to Bailey who recommended the headhunter for a fun mezcal drink (the guava flavors were great, too). He also recommended the Serenity Now which was a drink served hot and a perfect blend of creamy milky oolong and Japanese whiskey (and I don't even like whiskey much!). Very subtle and sophisticated notes. Need to come back and try the food, but so far so great.

Yelp
I've always wanted to try the cocktails at Death & Co ever since receiving their cocktail receipt book as a gift. They have multiple locations across the nation and I think the NYC is the original. It's a great place to start your night with some craft cocktails and light bites. The main area is located underground and it's a pretty small space. Reservations are a must but they do take walk-ins. Just be prepared to wait a bit. Cell service is a little weak but I still had some, which is surprising for being underground. It's super dark inside and kind of loud so I don't think it's really the right environment for an intimate event. We were using our phone brightness to read the menu and often had to yell across the table. Their menu is divided into different flavor profiles, which is really helpful when you don't really know what you want. I'm sure they can make the typical well drinks but you should definitely try something new here and I think they've done a very good job at crafting interesting things. It doesn't seem like they have vodka cocktails and focus more on tequila or gin. Prices are a little high but it's to be expected being in Little Tokyo. Glad I got to try this place at least once! I don't think it's worth waiting as a walk-in though so plan ahead and make a reservation. It would be interesting to see if they do any holiday cocktail specials.

Yelp
Fancy schmancy craft cocktail bar, never been and went with a fancier friend that has been meaning to try this place. We went early so was able to score seats at the bar which is the way to go. The atmosphere is super dark and cozy with heavy velvet curtains to set the mood as you enter the bar area downstairs. It's also candle lamplit so adds to the dark romantic mood, but even thought the bathrooms are right before the bar area it's easy for me to miss since it was just so dark. I was served by Edwin, Joe, Michelle and Zack for the night, every single one of them was on point with their craft; from enduring my obnoxious small talk, me ordering a custom drink based around a cherry flavor profile, refilling my water cup endlessly and being well versed in the many drinks on their menu in answering my endless questions about ingredients. As I was driving I only could get a couple drinks, it is LA pricing so expect to shell out at least $20 per drink, but unlike other bars drinks were well thought out. From the initial sip to how it lingers on your palate after you've swallowed. Buko Gimlet; Four Pillars Navy Strength Gin, Novo Fogo Cachaça, Pandan, Coconut Water, Finger Lime. So refreshing and easy to drink, I could have had several of these if I was there all night. If you're a moscow mule lover you need to try this one. Dreamsong; Courvoisier VSOP Cognac, Freimeister Hazelnut Gin, Strawberry, Cacao, Heavy Cream. Sweet and creamy, the hazelnut flavors really shines and it warms you up with each sip like a dessert. If you like white russians you need to try this one. My custom cherry drink: Basically a singapore sling, fruity delicious and delightful. It was so good that a neighboring bar buddy decided to order it too. That is what's good about this place, strangers at the bar each passing the vibe check. Though boozy these aren't cocktails aren't going to make you wince at the harshness of the alcohol, but make you ponder the ingredients and some are hard to find in stores or more obscure so even if you're a bartender like the guy to the left of me you'd still find something you'd like. Original location is from New York, I've never been so it's good to have a LA location to experience. Death and Co. also makes cocktails menu books that are perfect for gift giving. Parking is a mission in the Arts district so I just parked farther away and just hoofed it for about 5 minutes. Maybe the parking gods smile upon you and give you favor!

Yelp
We stopped by here after a concert downtown for late drinks and snacks. The drinks are fantastic and snacks are good &,nothing special (just the names on the menu). It's abit dark but that is aok with us cause we don't want too see what we or others look like with several drinks . The services are great and fast plus the music is loud but not too loud and perfect for midnight mood. Will definitely stop by again whenever we can.

Yelp
Came here with a res which was a must and had a great time! The menu is extensive and has something that will satisfy everyone's preference. The ambiance is just want you'd expect from a speakeasy. Overall, we had a great time!

Yelp
Came to visit the LA location after having visited the Denver location. It was a little snug in here but the vibes were still super cool. The drinks were good and uniquely made. We waited in line for about 25 minutes and once we were inside there was space for us right at the bar. We ordered right away and the bar tenders were quick and attentive. There were some incense burning, which made it really challenging to breathe in there. I think they should limit this for people are sensitive to smells because of allergies. Overall a great spot to checkout.

Yelp
The original Death & Co in New York was one of my all time favorite bars in NYC. Went to check out Death & Co LA and was not disappointed. Like the original, the bar is super classy, darkly lit, and perfect for a sexy rendezvous. I chatted with the staff behind the bar and they told me that the key difference between the NY and LA location is that the cocktail menu in LA has more tequila drinks while NY has more bourbons and whiskey cocktails. The cocktail I ordered was excellent. Definitely a place I'd come back to again. I will, however note that it's been a while since I've gone out to a cocktail bar and I was shocked at the price! How do 20-somethings afford to go out regularly when craft cocktails now average $20 a drink?! Geez!

Yelp
An absolute must for true cocktail lovers and aficionados. The drinks are complex without being ostentatious or tawdry. Their drinks are carefully crafted without sparing the fine details that may go unnoticed by some, but highly appreciated by observant watchers and those that know. The execution on the decor and presentation is immaculately done and similar to their drinks, the details can be easily missed if you're not looking carefully. The interior is intimate, a little edgy and just a dash of romance. The lighting is very dim, the interior is small but contributes to the sexy atmosphere. Joe was our bartender this night and he demonstrated a very similar and well paired demeanor for the establishment. He was very helpful, courteous and mellow which fit the setting remarkably well. He helped my date and I choose between a few options and he did so enthusiastically, we were both very happy with his recommendations. He really seems like an excellent fit for Death & Co's whole vibe and he made our night that much better. All around I have to say I'm an absolute convert and will definitely be stopping by again. The place was packed on a Tuesday night so I could imagine it's a tough spot to get into on the weekends. I'm thrilled to have finally visited and I can't wait to come back.

Yelp
We had a reservation and got there right when it opened on a weekday so unlike a lot of other reviews, we had no problem with service or getting seated or anything. We really enjoyed our drinks. And we got 3 dishes to eat (beef tartare, potatoes, and prawns). All of the food was delicious BUT it was definitely just over the line of being too salty (and I love salty food). Besides the saltiness issue, we had a fun time.

Yelp
the service was great and the interior is beautiful. a really great intimate spot for a date, quiet enough to have a conversation (which is a problem for most bars). the drinks are between 20-35$ and are a bit pricey, but the pours are heavy handed.

Yelp
I'm absolutely blown away! From cocktails to food to service. Death & Co doesn't miss a beat! My friend made a same day reservation for two people and we were seated right away. We were a bit lost after getting off Uber because the signage is small and at that time, no one was standing in the hallway so we had no idea where we were going. Don't go up the stairs. Just keep walking down the hallway to the back and walk downstairs. You'll see a welcome sign. It's pretty dark and it gave off this exclusive vibes. If you know it, you know it. Upon walking in, I feel that this is the place for a third date. Real intimate for two. Dark, sexy vibes. It can get loud later on when it's packed though. The photos I uploaded appeared brighter. Here's what we got: Buko Gimlet - light and refreshing, personally loved it Crimson Art - flavorful Tartare, add trout roe - amazing, 5 stars, best dish, I should order 2 more of these! Crudo - really small serving, great flavor Roasted cauliflower - definitely tasted like cauliflower, exactly what I expected, a good dish Crispy potato - real crispy, light flavor Cream puffs - not sweet at all. Not even the slightest. I was expecting lightly sweet. Threw me off a bit. Servers are attentive, polite, and made us feel welcomed. Very impressed by the quality Death & Co. bring. I would love to visit other locations when I'm in the area.

Yelp
Finally came to check out this popular speakeasy bar, except everyone knows about it so the line is long. We came on a Saturday night and waited about 15 minutes until we were allowed into a waiting room. After we put our name down on the waitlist, we went to grab a drink in the waiting room bar. The room is very dark and intimate without much room as the waiting room is crowded as well. I ordered the Melonball ($19), which tasted just like the Melona ice cream bar. But halfway through, it started being harder to drink. My friend didn't even finish her drink either. Maybe we ordered the wrong drinks, but the hype fell short. The drinks looked great on paper otherwise. Plus, all the waiting and crowd really turned me off. There is no speakeasy vibe here besides it being a dark space.

Yelp
When you walk in, this place feels like Edgar Allan Poe meets high fashion. A definite vibe and one that I very much enjoyed. The drink menu is the perfect size. Plenty of innovation and some classics, but not so overwhelming that you can't make a decision decision. Plus, the bartenders are super helpful if you have any questions. I've been to the D&C in Denver as well as New York, and this one is right on par with both of them. What an amazing experience. I actually went twice in six days. I don't have a problem you have a problem. The drinks were impeccable. My favorites were the Sound and Fury, like a red bell pepper margarita, and the Machine Response, which was like a lemony yogurt delight.

Yelp
Friday night. My group of four were the first to add our names to the waitlist at 6:40pm. We ate next door at the hand roll spot. Checked into D&C at 7:45pm. Door man let us in 15mins later. We grabbed drinks and waited reluctantly at the overflow/waiting bar for two hours until we got seated in the main room. Drinks average 20pp. Overall: Great date place to kill time.

Yelp
Death & Co is a lounge with a very sexy and moody vibe. Perfect for a date night. You would never know it was there from the street. I came for a late night reservation during the week and it was almost completely full so I would say reservations are a good idea. Our server was knowledgeable and professional, as all of the staff appeared to be. The menu is beautiful and extensive, as a good cocktail bar should be. I love to try drinks in which I don't know what the ingredients are, so naturally I chose the Alien Love Call as the menu states is made with Avallen Calvados, Cobra Fire Eau de Vie de Raisin, Menthe, Fennel and Absinthe. Absolutely fabulous. I only need to come back to try the food!

Yelp
I visited the LA location on a Saturday night after dinner, and it was buzzing with energy. The place was packed, but we managed to find standing room and some bar seating in the front area. Though we didn't sit at a table, they offered to put us on the waitlist, which had about a 45-minute wait. The bar's vibe was on point--low lighting, great music, and an overall cool atmosphere. I didn't get a chance to try the food this time, but I'll definitely be back to sample some of their bites!

Yelp
If you've been to the NYC location then you dont need to go here. Great cocktails but the bar is really crowded and its really not that impressive.

Yelp
This bar made #30 on the World's Best Bars for North America for 2023 so we definitely had to check it out. The entrance and ambiance is very chic with a touch a mystery, but welcoming vibes. We made reservations ahead of time and was worth it because there was a line when we got there. The drinks are expertly made and they also have a limited food menu too. The chicken and potatoes are very tasty and great for sharing for a snack. The menu has a cartoon drawing of the drinks and the staff is knowledgeable about liquor even beyond the menu. It got really busy so it took some time for service, but overall an outstanding bar! Glad for its recognition!!

Yelp
The food was definitely arts district high end vibes. The drinks were so fun and the servers and hosts were all nice.

Yelp
Death & Co has been one of my favorite bars in LA ever since my best friend introduced me to it! Since it is a speakeasy, it can be a little tricky to find if you're not familiar with it. There's a small plaque that says its name with a security guard at the front so make sure you pay attention! there's not a lot of parking available, primarily street parking, so keep that in mind as well when you're planning your visit. When you enter the bar you'll notice that there are two bars in the area. The first bar is where you'll wait to actually get into the Death & Co bar. There has been a wait every since time I've visited, meaning I'm either lined up outside or waiting inside of their first bar. But the first bar is also just as enjoyable! Granted, there's limited seating available, but it's still a fun environment to be in while waiting for your next round of drinks. Keep in mind that this first bar also has some drinks that are not offered in the main bar, so if there's something you're eyeing on in the first bar, make sure to order it there instead of waiting for the main one! Once you enter the main bar, a server will escort you to your seat, which is either going to be a table or bar seating. The establishment is also extremely dark but it contributes to the elegant yet mysterious vibes. It can get super busy on the weekend so sometimes the servers might have a lot on their plate. But they always do their best to make sure you're being well cared for despite the craziness! For drinks, I ordered the switchblade. I'm usually not but this drink is one of the exceptions! The tequila blends extremely well with the passionfruit and lime to bring a bright and fruity experience! For the food, my friend and I only ordered the marinated olives to share, and it was the perfect snack to munch on during our round of drinks! Overall, I highly recommend Death & Co if you're looking for a bar in LA! It's one of my favorites and I'm always waiting for the next time I'll get to go!

Yelp
Went to Death & Co. on a Saturday night. 4 of us without reservation but we didn't wait too long to enter and the staff who worked at the check-in (ground area), he is awesome to chat with. The lounge is small but full of Dodge's decorations and moody lights. Our bartender made us some nice drinks. We had a melonball, an old-fashioned, a thunderbird, and something else like a slurpy (I forgot the name of it). It was a great experience and we will return to try their food menu next time.

Yelp
My husbands friend has the Death & Co cocktail book so my husband wanted to check out the bar while we were in LA. We came on a Tuesday evening around 9 PM and there was a wait for 3 people. We decided not to make a reservation since they charge a deposit (we weren't 100% set in our plans). The bouncer took my husbands number and said he would text when a table was available. After about 20 minutes, we hadn't received a text (including the confirmation the bouncer said we would receive). When we went back up, the bouncer saw he put our number in incorrectly. I think he felt bad so he called down to see if there were bar spots available which was appreciated. We made our way down and sat at the bar. A table ended up opening up and the staff asked if we wanted to move to a table which was nice. We had already eaten dinner so we were just there for cocktails. The menu is so unique and expansive. I have to rave about the service. They had an outdated menu on their website (they had just switched over the seasonal menu I think). I had seen a cocktail that looked really good on the old menu and was disappointed it wasn't on the new menu. Our server asked the bartender if they could still make it and they even went to dig out some ingredients to make the cocktail. This was much appreciated and it was delicious!! At the time of our visit, there was a deal through the app InKind for $25 off a $75 purchase. Definitely worth the app download for the discount!

Yelp
I decided to stop by on a whim with a party of four on a Saturday night without reservation. We waited about an hour before being seated inside. The ambiance is dark, sexy, and mysterious. I got to try 3 drinks with completely different flavor profiles. They were all unique and delicious. Full disclosure- a pink fruity mezcal drink. The smokiness of the mezcal pairs really well with the sweet fruitiness of the drink. Low end theory- my favorite. This drink is dark, strong, and right up my alley. The garam masala made this whiskey-based drink even more bold. Vintage eggnog- this was way too sweet for me but still delicious. There's all kinds of liquor in this but the eggnog is so sweet that you can barely taste any alcohol.

Yelp
I took my partner here for his birthday because my best friend loves the one in New York. It was only okay. Easy street parking after hours but they also have valet at the entrance. When you first enter its super dark and sexy vibes down a large staircase that opens up to a candlelit entryway. We had a reservation and were sat immediately. The interior is nice and feels semi-intimate depending on how close the next table is. The food menu didn't look too hot so we kept it to drinks & dessert. We had: Police & Thieves: okay Golden Wind: really, really good! I believe it's a holiday drink so try while it's still on the menu! Lovely spices and warms you right up Full Disclosure: pretty good Tideripper: okay, very different flavor- like coffee and juice? but sadly it was 98% ice. UNCLE WES' DRUNKEN COOKIES: very disappointing. The cookies might've been good if they weren't rock hard and cold. The egg nog was okay, but cold egg nog is not a great compliment with really cold cookies The hosts were so kind, helpful, and conversational, our server seemed a bit distracted.

Yelp
Great experience had on my birthday at this bar! I have been wanting to go to this bar for awhile! I have even purchased their book and followed there opening so to finally go was big! And my night there was not a disappointment! We were there on a weekday early in the night so got in without reservations! The place can get super busy, especially on weekends! They do have an overflow bar, but not as cool as the main area! The main bar is in the basement! Super dark with bar and table seats! Loud music, so could be challenging to converse with a group! Two people is fine! As for drinks, there is a bulky menu! There are so very creative drinks! If you prefer a classic, the bartender can provide you anything you request! The bartenders are very attentive!!!! Drinks are about twenty dollars each! There is also a food menu! We didn't have food so I don't know how the food is. The only negative is that the hallway to the bar smells. Must be a smell of sewage: bathrooms. The good thing is that the bar did not smell. Based on our experience, I look forward to trying this place again!

Yelp
Came here for the holiday experience they offered and it was initially just okay. Our friend made a reso for a group of us and had to make a deposit for our time slot. We got there early and were told a whiskey tasting (another experience they offer) was running late and we could be sat in the main room to order drinks while we waited if we wanted. We were sat in the main room (which was very moody and candlelit and cool). We felt bad for our server that a big table only ordered a few drinks before we were told we could move to the other room. We felt there were lots of pushy reminders that we needed to close out. We didn't get into our holiday experience until about approx. 45 mins after our reso time. Once we got into the other room (the standing room area used for the restaurant when it's not the holidays), we saw it was dressed up all cute and festive. We ordered our drinks and some of our crew didn't get garnishes for the holiday specific drink menu. Our friend who made the reso chatted with one of the bartenders about some of the frustrations we had. At one point when some of us were ordering more drinks, one of the bartenders said he had heard what had happened with our reso and felt really bad. He bought our round of drinks which was incredibly kind and the staff brought us cups of caramel popcorn from then on and made sure our waters were always full. I hate to have to judge on this specific experience because the main room/menu looked awesome. Big thank you to the bartender for his kind gesture and the host who always made sure we were doing great.

Yelp
Would highly recommend making reservations. We got lucky and showed up early and were able to get a spot at the bar. If you're planning on trying to walk-in like that, would also recommend calling ahead to double check the opening time. We learned sometimes it can be later than what it says on the website. Parking also sucks so try to ride share if you can. Or valet is available. Service was extremely friendly and very very good. We were very impressed at the bartenders keeping our waters full while making a million different drinks with so much care. This is a perfect date night spot. It's dark and cozy inside. There are also a lot of great food spots and bars in the area to bar hop!

Great place for tapas and strong cocktails! The staff is helpful and manages the strong crowds well!

Yelp
Took me a while but finally made it to the Los Angeles Death & Co location. Similar to the NY spot, it's dark and dreamy. Drinks are perfect and it has the best ambience. Service was great. We came in on a reservation, which I highly recommend. I ordered the Switchblade. It was excellent. From the Bright & Confident section of the menu and it was exactly that. The crispy potatoes were great but even better once we found the delicious cheesy sauce on the bottom lol If you like a well crafted drink in a dark and elegant space, this is it.

Yelp
Came for drinks on a Saturday evening! I recommend making a reservation. FLAVOR (4.5/5): Unfortunately, they changed their menu and I can't find the updated version online but the food and drinks were really amazing. From what I remember we got some kind of crudo, a steak, and cauliflower. The standouts were the steak and cauliflower - the steak was cooked perfectly and the cauliflower had a nice smoky flavor profile. I could have gone without the crudo, although my friends enjoyed the fruit/fish pairing. For drinks I got an Asian-inspired cocktail of some sort... the fact that I don't remember is killing me! I'm not a huge fan of alcohol but I think this hit the sweet spot for me - strong yet flavorful. (Update: it was the Shibari Martini!) SERVICE (5/5): Service was amazing. AMBIENCE (5/5): If you're looking for a speakeasy vibe, this is your spot. The ambience is intimate and fun - good for a romantic night out. Somewhat loud since this place is popular. PARKING (2/5): Parking is street, but I ubered because I was scared of being able to find parking... lol. TAKEAWAYS: Despite the high price point, I really enjoyed Death & Co. It's rare that you have a place that offers good drinks AND food, so I will definitely be coming back.

Yelp
Took me forever to make it back here and actually go inside. The drinks here all come with clear ice. So you know the drinks are top tier. We had to wait before going into the main bar. The waiting area also had a bar... the two bars have different drink menus.

Yelp
Date of Visit: 11/11/2023 Death & Co is one of our favorite bar in New York, and it has expanded in other cities in the States, including LA. We made an advance reservation for the Death & Co in LA, which is close to Little Tokyo area, so is a great after dinner drink place to visit. With a reservation, no need to stand in line in front of the store, and a security will direct guest to the stairs leading to the bar in the basement. There is a front room and back room, and with reservation, we were led by waitress to the back room behind a black curtain. The cocktail menu at Death & Co has five different sections, starting from the lightest and ending with more spirit forward drinks. The five sections are Light & Playful, Bright & Confident, Elegant & Timeless, Boozy & Honest, and Rich & Comforting. Switchblade $27 This is the last cocktail from the Bright & Confident section. Switchblade was made by Trquila and Ayuuk, and with Passion Fruit, Lime and Mexican herbaceous bitter liqueur. This is a little spicy and bitter, and less fruit forward. Sunbather $20 I ordered the Sunbather from the Elegant & Timeless section. This is made from Day Trip Strawberry Amaro, El Tesoro Añejo Tequila, Fennel, Vanilla, and Brut Cava. This is less sweet than I was expected, and the taste of strawberry was not obvious. Seersucker $18 Seersucker is our favorite cocktail from Death & Co in New York, and we asked the waitress whether it is still avilable to order. She checked and told us Yes! We ordered two Seersuckers. This is made by Flor de Cana Extra-Dry Rum, Lemon juice, Cinnamon Bark Syrup and Strawberries on crushed ice. Definitely our favorite among all three cocktails we ordered for the night.

Yelp
Stumbled upon this gem on an infatuation_ LA IG feature, and I'm so glad I did. I made a res (the deposit is fully refunded upon your arrival) for my friends and I one Monday night. Street or lot parking is available. After our eyes adjusted to the darkness, we loved the moody, mysterious underground atmosphere that was a nice contrast to the bright, colorful outdoors in the surrounding arts district. The main dining space was cozy and beautifully designed. It was packed & buzzing with energy at the bar and booths. We ordered rounds of drinks and food. I highly recommend the Easy Tiger, a smooth bright mezcal-based cocktail. To eat, we shared the house pickles, crispy potatoes, meatballs, and whipped ricotta. All the food was delicious and just as expertly crafted as the cocktails. Overall we have a lovely time. The staff were all friendly and efficient. We enjoyed our experience at Death & Co. and I look forward to coming back and trying their other locations as well!

Yelp
I've been to both the NYC and LA death & co locations and this is hands down one of the best bars in both coasts. I'm not much of an alcoholic drinker but the drinks here are solid and well crafted. Every time I come here the service is phenomenal and the server makes sure my drink is enjoyable. My friend and I got the fruity flavor drinks and it was great. The ambience is like a NYC speakeasy vibe, it can get loud and crowded

Yelp
Stumbled across this speakeasy bar while we were at eightytwo down the street. It was my first ever speakeasy experience so it was interesting. There was a line to go inside. They start with reservations first. We had a party of 6 with no reservations and the wait was not bad at all. The speakeasy bar was located downstairs. The ambiance was dark, mellow, and chill. They had a wide selections of drinks depending on what you're in the mood from. It varies from different types of liquor to wines and different types of cocktails as well with interesting names like police and thieves or on the edge of seventeen. Their food menu was very limited. $10 for popcorn? Steep. We did try their buttermilk fried chicken in hot honey and their crispy potatoes and both dishes were decent. Drinks were also decent. Overall a decent experience! If you're looking to go on a cute little date, I'd recommend this place for a nice night cap.

Yelp
Pros: -Extensive cocktail menu -nice night vibes. -pretty beverage glasses -nicely presented (I think. Too dark) food - friendly staff and accommodating waitress -bread and butter was tasty. Loved the radish -potatoes were good but a bit boring for me -peppers were peppers. Nothing special -they kept my water full :)). Big deal ! - Cons: - wayyyyy too dark ! Beautiful cocktails that I couldn't even see - food menu lacked variety. I know it's a cocktail bar but even if you have only 10 food choices can we add something not fried, salty, cheesy or fatty ? -hard to get a reservation but I guess that's a pro for team. Just not for the customer. lol - Would I return: NO. No need.

Yelp
Dark, vibey speakeasy in the Arts District. Interior beyond the black velvet curtain is cozy, intimate and lit up only by candles with dim lighting. We were seated at a comfy circular booth that gave a lot of privacy between parties. Came around 8PM on a weekday and was able to get seated quickly without a reservation for 4. There is ALWAYS a line during the weekend. Leaving around 10PM, the bar was definitely more packed and lively. Drink menu is seasonal and everything we got except for one drink was phenomenal. Drink price points range from $19 - $29. Some more worth it than others, our server was great at explaining the flavors of each drink since some ingredients were unfamiliar. Snacks I recommend getting to pair with your drinks are the lamb meatballs and crispy potatoes which were both phenomenal. Everything else was good too, but these stood out. Side note: even the bathrooms are dimly lit by candlelight. Specifically, one singular candle in the a stall. Come for the ambiance, luxurious cocktails, and a fun experience.

Yelp
We had an incredible time. The ambience, atmosphere, and overall vibe was amazing. Dark, moody, dimly lit, good music and conversation and the perfectly backlit bar all added to the experience. The service was amazing - friendly, helpful, conversational and they took the time to make solid suggestions and shared excellent information. We will definitely be back and we will be bringing friends with us.

Yelp
For such a morbid name, they make some heavenly drinks. I love that they have a rotating assortment of beverages. The other part that is rad is the fact they have actual bartenders who know their liquor. No pint pullers, or well makers here. Strong selection of booze, low key I think the Denver one is the best, but LA has a nice touch. The only bummer is that if you go in when the sun's out, and walk back out, your eyes won't work. Death and co more like death and cateracts

Yelp
My husband ended our date night for at death & co. I started with the garden of Eden a bright mix of Knob Creek D&C Selection Rye, Basil Eau de Vie, Granny Smith Apple, Lemon, and Yellow Chartreuse. My second drink was the snapshot a more booze forward but still easy to drink shaken El Tesoro D&C Cask Reposado Tequila, Copalli Cacao Rum, Nixta Elote, Pandan, and Orange Bitters. Overall my experience was okay, as you would describe it as very "LA." The staff were helpful at times but not warm. Service was quick. We had a reservation but somehow were seated at the bar because it was the only thing available although tables opened up after we were seated. It was underwhelming as this bar is highly reputable.

Yelp
So. Dark. Can't. See. I know that places like to keep the area dark to set the mood and fit the ambiance of the establishment, but goodness I could not see a thing. When my friends and I were waiting for our reservation at the waiting room, us and a couple more were bundled together trying to read the menu from the smallest light source we could find. We ended up shining our flashlights which I personally hate doing for some reason, but it was the only way we could read the menu! Decided to just wait until our table was ready for us to order because we thought it'd be easier, which it was since each table had a candle for us to use. The menu is absolutely beautiful! I love the illustrations of each glass next to the drink- it adds a very playful yet classy touch to the menu. They have so many different categories to cater to everyone's palette as well which I appreciate. Our server (unfortunately forgot their name), was amazing as well and always offered to help out and give suggestions and even switch out a drink if it wasn't to our liking. First, we were each given a complimentary glass of the Pear Cider, which was absolutely delicious! It was so crisp and light, I'll probably just order that next time. I ordered the Shibari Martini and it was great if you don't like drinks that are alcohol forward. We also got an order of Crispy Potatoes and Uncle Wes' Drunken Cookies, but I'd personally pass on the food next time. I think this is a great spot for dates or intimate outings, but not so much for a group of people because of how dark and small it is!

Yelp
Drinks = BOMB. Service = even better. Ambiance = sexy! I love the dark vibes of the whole area. There are private booths/tables and the whole bar. Bar is STACKED. I doubt there is anything that they don't have. They are very drink-curation-focused and it shows. All their drinks have a very interesting palette twist to them that is so enjoyable. When I think of a good bar, I think of this exact scenario. Bravo keep it up!
