10 Kinds Of Breakfast Meetings And Where To Have Them

"PERFECT FOR: THE WAY DOWNTOWN BECAUSE THEY JUST MOVED YOUR ENTIRE OFFICE HERE BREAKFAST Attention, Conde Nast editors: meet your friend Little Park, located in the southern part of Tribeca and close to the Freedom Tower. It has both the fancy hotel lobby feel and the egg white frittata to seal the deal." - hillary reinsberg

Where To Have Dinner With Your In-Laws

"Little Park is from the same people behind Bar Primi and Locanda Verde, and it’s where you go to get slightly fancy food with someone who wants something kind of healthy. There are always a lot of vegetables on the menu here, and there are usually a few good good seafood options as well. Although if you want steak or pasta, they have that too. Plus, this restaurant is in a great-looking space in Tribeca that your in-laws might describe as “elegant.”" - bryan kim

Where To Get A Business Lunch When Your Company Is Paying

"Little Park is an American restaurant on the ground floor of a hotel in a non-touristy part of FiDi, and while it might not look all that interesting on the surface, trust us - you want to taste the food here. Try the sunchoke risotto, the roasted beet sandwich with smoked egg and avocado - or, generally speaking, anything with vegetables. The space is also big and full of spacious booths, a.k.a. ideal when you want to regale your colleagues with stories they’ll all politely pretend you’ve never told before." - matt tervooren

Where To Book Dinner For Your Boss

"If your boss sometimes suspects that the skim latte you hand-deliver each morning was actually made with whole milk, Little Park might be the right choice. Many of the dishes here consist of fish or vegetables, so it’s perfect for someone who occasionally talks about going on a juice cleanse - although there are also some other options, like steak and duck. The space is in the bottom of a hotel in Tribeca, it has some nice big booths, and it’s decorated with earth tones, which your boss should find comforting." - bryan kim, chris stang

Yelp
I went specifically for the Niçoise salad. super disappointing. Below average tuna and the greens / other ingredients were few. Go to a real French bistro like Balthazar if you want a good Nicoise.

Yelp
They have a lunch special mon-fri. $28= french onion soup + a burger, grilled chicken, or vodka pasta. Instead of the soup you can get a main dish and dessert. Solid deal. They also have a few steaks on the menu. Filet is excellent with creamy poivre sauce. Cozy interior. Service is a bit slow. Generally a very good spot for lunch or dinner.

Yelp
My friends and I raided the menu at Smyth Tavern and I will say everything we tasted was delicious. Also not shown yet enjoyed in my photos was the Saint Tropez branzino and the filet mignon. The staff was graceful, politely introduced us to our new server as the staff transitioned for the evening. Our server offered us custom cocktails that were produced well. The ambience is sexy yet demurred. I enjoyed my dinner experience with Smyth Tavern.

Yelp
The service was really good, she was super attentive and was sure to bring out my next course when I was ready. She also gave me the most delicious chocolate chip cookie while I was leaving. Okay, to the food. My salad was delicious, I needed greens after the week I had. I decided to erase all healthiness with this burger though. I wanted to be an adult for once & asked for medium well, however, the burger was more pink than I could handle. I know if I wasn't a punk I would have enjoyed it more because it was good. The onion rings were perfect and the fries were a great addition. I know if the burger was cooked all the way through I would have finished everything on my plate. Solid place & great restaurant if you're staying at the Smyth Tribeca and don't want to go out.

Yelp
Ate breakfast here with guests of the hotel. We were the only ones there. The smoked salmon Benedict with the nice little potato thing was quite nice. Also sampled some other more basic items such as pancakes.

Yelp
Came into Smyth Tavern recently to grab some breakfast. I only sat in the front, but the decor was like a diner but had touches that made it feel a an old-school bar, but it also felt homey. It wasn't packed and I was able to be seated right away. Yolanda was my server and was an absolute gem. She was able to accommodate me by grabbing the breakfast menu. I ordered an orange juice and a Belgian waffle with no Nutella (wasn't in the mood for sweets). The orange juice tasted fresh, though the portion felt slightly small considering the $7 price tag. The waffle itself was enjoyable, especially with the addition of fresh berries. However, there was a slight delay in receiving the warm syrup I requested, and by the time it arrived, the waffle had cooled down. In all, I can recommend Smyth Tavern for a breakfast date, or solo date. If you do go, ask for Yolanda! She is very attentive and accommodating! The postcards with the bill were a nice touch! Thank you for having me!

Yelp
Made a last-minute reservation on a Friday afternoon and it wasn't packed at all. I really liked the look of the restaurant. Our server was nice. Food was 5 stars. Pasta was great. The branzino was some of the best we've had. Loved the house rolls as well. Only had a couple beers on tap. Pricing of food was to be expected for a more upscale place. Didn't love that the espresso martini was 23 dollars, but what are you gonna do

Claire R.

Yelp
We had a few drinks, the spinach and artichoke dip and the shrimp cocktail. Very very good for everything we ordered! Service was perfect, very kind and quick. Was very quiet and relaxing ambiance. Overall would come back!

Yelp
Great place for date or girls night! Smyth Tavern is very Tribeca and low-key, located inside the boutique hotel. No cookie skillet like their sister restaurant Lure, which was a bummer. But those garlic bread Parker House rolls absolutely slapped. Yeah, it's downtown and sceney, so prices are what you would expect. Service was A+, water and drink refills all super prompt. I haven't been back since, but good to know a solid place to go if you're in the area.

Yelp
Smyth Tavern is a sophisticated American tavern. It is one of the newest addition to the Tribeca neighborhood. It has a lovely ambiance and is tastefully decorated with artwork curated from local Downtown galleries. Moreover, the restaurant is dimly lit, warm, and cozy. I really enjoy the interior. For dinner, I chose the Roasted Chicken - fingerling potatoes, mushrooms, and chicken jus. Sadly, I did not enjoy this dish. Maybe next time I'll try their signature burger. I heard it was very good. Overall, three stars.

Yelp
Never stayed in Tribeca before. Stopped by for some cake and a coke. Delicious, both! Next time, dinner...

Yelp
Very nice tavern vibe situated in an above average boutique hotel. The bartenders were friendly and made some decent drinks. The restaurant itself had a good menu with a nice amount of variety. The NY strip steak frites was surprisingly big (but well cooked) and the fries were actually pretty darn good. We had a few appetizers like the calamari and the spinach artichoke dip which were both very good. The service was decent tho we had to flag a few people down at times. Overall it's a great place to have dinner at, especially with a large group.

Yelp
Burger is fantastic. The Chianti by the glass is good. The service is a bit slow. I asked for some olives to start with my wine and it felt that I was asking for something special and difficult. If the staff smiled more it would be a better experience.

Jane S.

Yelp
The food was solid. The steaks well prepared and nice sides. The ambiance/vibe was intimate but service was lacking. Too slow and almost seemed like they were understaffed. It's a nice spot to grab a meal when you don't plan ahead and cannot get into something a bit more upscale or trendy. We booked last minute and got a 7pm reservation on a Saturday.

Yelp
Wanted to try this new restaurant out and it's a bit of a mixed bag. Overall, a good spot to come maybe for a work dinner or people from out of town. Pros: large portions, good service, not crowded yet so still easy to get a table Cons: they are really lacking in salt in many dishes - we saw other tables literally asking for salt to add on. Personally I feel most restaurants over salt their food so I didn't mind as much but still wasn't ideal. Also, while the food is good, it's definitely overpriced for what you get. Would not be a restaurant to come to casually or often. Great if you're expensing a meal haha

Yelp
I had dinner with my friend, and the male server with heavy accent was kind of pushy to recommend expensive items. I ordered duck and the quality of food was good, but it had too many slices of duck with a tiny portion of veggie. Majority of customers were male, and I assumed the menu was developed for male clientele. The server also added fudge which was extra cost to our dessert we ordered without asking. Atmosphere is nice and location is super convenient right next to the subway station, but I could not get satisfactory experience considering their high price point.

Yelp
Smyth Tavern is an upscale tavern-style restaurant in the space which formerly housed Andrew Carmellini's Little Park. The service is excellent, certainly what you would expect at a high end restaurant. The menu is New American and the food is as good as it is creative. We will certainly be back.

Jacqueline N.

Yelp
They have delicious food and desserts. They serve drinks. You have to try their burgers (Bash Burger) with fries. They are friendly staff.

Yelp
Last night in New York, looking for a nice place to eat and end the stay. Service was lacking. Not attentive, we felt as though we were annoying the staff by being there. Food was OK, not great. THEN terrible. My husband and I spent most of our night sick, you know, in a hotel room with only one toilet.... Not how we wanted to end my first trip to New York, but I guess we'll have a story to tell.

Yelp
Everything about this place was great; from the service to the food. Nothing really left a lasting impression, however. It's like McMansions. They look nice, expensive, and professionally done, but they're a dime a dozen. But they do it very well, and for that, I am grateful.

Yelp
Surprised this place was so empty for brunch. Went because it's close to my apartment and the space is nice. But the food was shockingly solid

Yelp
Smyth tavern was an amazing experience. Went there for a birthday dinner with friends. Only reason I'm not giving a 5 star is cuz we had to wait over an hour for our table but we went next door to primos to have a few drinks while we waited. Found out one of my favorite waitresses recently moved to Smyth so another reason I love this place already. Had the Paloma and lobster pasta. Both were really good. Added a ton of chili flakes but that's my usual. Will be back for sure

Yelp
It's expensive and just OK. I kinda like the ambiance but it definitely feels like a hotel bar. The food was ok and the service was ok.

Yelp
Parents nowadays are getting creative with baby names. Substituting the letter "y" for vowels automatically makes your kid unique and special. Names like Austyn or Rowyn will forever make it hard on friends and colleagues to spell. Smyth tavern is the newest restaurant by John McDonald of Mercer street hospitality (bar tulix and Hancock St) The restaurant doubles as an art gallery with pieces rotating from local galleries in the area. The restaurant is a vibe with wood panels and dim lighting. Perfect for a date night. The menu is simple tavern foods. Small plates, soups and salad, raw bar, pastas, and steak. The drinks are simple and made well. You'll find your typical Negroni and martinis on the menu Foods: Salmon Tiradito - with serrano chili, miso yuzu, vinaigrette and sesame oil - I enjoyed this dish and it good balance of sweetness with the acidity of the yuzu. the serrano chili gave it a new kick Jumbo Shrimp cocktail - the waiter recommended this - it was good but something out of the ordinary Smyth burger (bacon onion jam, American cheese, special sauce, onion rings, fries) - I really liked the burger with the bacon onion jam - it leans towards the sweet side though which I like. The onion rings were delish but the fries were lacklucker - cold and a bit soggy Mafaldine - uni butter, lobster knuckle and claw, chili flake - I literally came for this dish. anything with uni in it is a must for me! the handmade pasta was perfectly cooked. the sauce was a tad to acidic, however with the uni butter, it grew on me. the chilis gave it a kick as well Blueberry Panna Cotta - was a great way to end the night. it came with some type of crumble which made this dessert a 5/5 Smyth Tavern serves up some good American food with a twist. I wouldn't say anything blew my mind, but its a great spot to check out if in the area.

Yelp
The issue wasn't the food, the food was decent. However, the service left something to be desired. The server came to our table twice the entire time and was nowhere to be found when I wanted to order a drink (so I stuck with water). Then who I believe is the manager came over I asked for additional ketchup, which I never received and had to share with someone at my table. Lastly, once we asked for the check it took forever and when I looked for the person I asked they stated "did you need something?" Yes the check! We chose this place for the live jazz band but will not be back.

Yelp
Slowest bartender ever last night at 6:30pm. Took 11 min for her to get a drink, and the place was empty. Male bartender barely understands English, but when I spoke to him in Spanish he only spoke back in English.

Yelp
Really solid meal with a couple friends at Smyth Tavern last night. It was a last minute dinner thrown together after some drinks in Tribeca area. They were able to seat us in a booth immediately and were very accommodating. We started with the meatballs and polenta and then the spinach and artichoke dip to start. Both, very nice. The meatballs were tender and the polenta super creamy and velvety. Then all four of us had the burger. A really nice burger with house made bacon jam and pickles. I'm all for keeping a burger simple with one to two toppings on it and letting it speak for itself. This burger did exactly that. Service was great the whole night from host stand to our waitress. Food came out quick but didn't feel rushed whatsoever. Would absolutely come back here for dinner!
google avatar

J A.

Yelp
I would give this place 5 stars based off the bartender alone. Job (aka Jo) was phenomenal, friendly and our drinks were spot on. Outside of the outstanding service the food was delicious, the mafaldine pasta is a must. I was also having such a good time I ended up leaving my purse there and the rest of the staff were very helpful at keeping it safe & returning it to me. I will definitely be back!

Yelp
Beautiful space and ambience, really friendly host and wait staff. But that's about where i'd say Smyth Tavern as excelling. Tuna Tartare and meatball appetizers were good; for the price, the tuna was a fairly small portion. And when i ordered the Smyth Burger, which was allegedly a staple there, it didn't come with onion rings or the sesame bun like all of the photos the restaurant and other patrons have shared on social media and Yelp. The burger was also tiny, and we joked it looked like a slightly upgraded slider. Again, for the price, portions are quite small and i found myself opening the bun to see if there was any onion jam or sauce because the burger was a little bit dry and the egg/brioche bun was the largest part of the burger, when i prefer the burger itself to be the star. Fries were also non-descript and not very crispy. Clearly, expectations met reality and it wasn't as delicious or memorable as i had hoped. I'd go to the neighborhood The Smith any day for a burger and crispy rice salmon app on par with this better or better, at a way better price. They have potential - drinks were good and thought the space itself was gorgeous and atmospheric. I Just recommend they work on quality/portioning and execution. You're competing with the best steakhouses and burger spots in the city, and even Hillstone blew this out of the water with their portioning and quality. Their namesake burger did not live up to the hype.

Yelp
The "Tribeca Toddy" tasted like high fructose corn syrup that was put in the microwave for 30 seconds. Not hot enough for a hot toddy and no hint of whiskey that I could taste - not saying it wasn't there, but the syrup was completely overwhelming. Food was good, not exceptional. Pricing seemed fair for post-inflation (except for the cocktail). Took a long time to get the check, even though it was a busy night, which seemed odd (assuming they wanted to turn the tables over ASAP). Tried to get the server's attention for a solid 10-15 minutes to get the check. Kudos to the woman who took care of our high chair though - she was great.
google avatar

Richard B.

Yelp
A bit overpriced but the food is very good. Everything I tried was delicious and the Lobster Pasta was probably the best I had in my life.

Kendall G.

Yelp
Really wanted to like this place. Atmosphere is super nice. Really cool vibe. Servers and staff were super friendly. I went on a Thursday at 12pm. The issue was the food. It came out SO slow. Took an hour for salad apps to come out and another hour for entree. Was there for close to 2.5 hours. I got the penne vodka with burrata. It was cold and flavorless and a super tiny portion. Would not recommend. I got the fruit tart for dessert. It was dry, and wasn't that fresh. Overall it just missed.
google avatar

Abby M.

Yelp
Great service- and complimentary chocolate chip cookies on the way out??? We had an amazing time having cocktails at this restaurant. Will definitely be back!
google avatar

Deb M.

Yelp
This place is overall average. Food is not memorable, Took a while to bring out. Server disappeared never asking if we needed more drinks. Dishes not cleared. Poor execution of the dining experience

Stina P.

Yelp
Cozy bar/restaurant to grab a bite in Tribeca. Sat at the bar with a Maine Lunch IPA and the Smyth burger. Burger was perfectly cooked medium rare with crisp steak fries. Pretty great, chill dinner for one.

Greg L.

Yelp
Medium rare skirt steak led to the worst food poisoning in the last 15 years of my life. Fainted in the bathroom from the agonizing pain, and considered calling the ambulance. Happened 1-2 hrs after the meal, and I hadn't eaten all day, so it definitely was a result of the meal. I wouldn't post this if it weren't the most awful food experience of my life. Be wary of the safety of the food here! Service, ambiance, and food taste are fine otherwise.
google avatar

Deanna L.

Yelp
It started off rocky, the maitre d was willing to sit us for only an hour even though we could make reservations online so obviously they had availability but the rest of the evening proceeded flawlessly. The food was great, we shared a bunch of appetizers; the sommelier was amazing and truly knows her stuff, the server was a delight, wish she could've dined w us, the manager checked up on us and showed us the gorgeous space downstairs for private events, which my friend is likely to use for her event planning. Just a great overall experience, and a really friendly team.

Juliana P.

Yelp
Tried to order a glass of wine that was corked. Bartender served me two glasses that were still corked such that I had to order a more expensive wine since he didn't want to open a new bottle. Mediocre service, great location. Just open a good bottle for locals for Pete's sake - if we are paying $30 for a glass, it needs to be good.

Ram R.

Yelp
First off, the staff here are very nice and I thought the service and ambiance was good. But, that's all there is when it comes to positives. Now the negative: The food and drinks were insanely overpriced (even by post-inflation, NYC standards) for what you get, and frankly, not particularly great or special. There are FAR better restaurants and one block away from here, so unless they get tourists coming here from the hotel next door (which they are affiliated with) I can't imagine a local NYer coming here regularly. The worst part was the noise levels in the dining room. It gets incredibly loud at this restaurant, especially when it's packed. I know all NYC restaurants and bars are typically loud, but this one was even above the NYC norms! I left the place with a headache, a ringing ear and an overpriced average meal. I do not recommend it, unless you want to just sit at the bar, have a drink and enjoy the ambiance. I could be wrong, but I just don't expect this place lasting very long, unfortunately.

Mari P.

Yelp
Food was not good. Horrifically overpriced. The ambience was the best thing about this place. The service was not good. Inattentive. Didn't get our toast or home fries. Had to get up and ask. Had to ask 4 times to get our table fixed (was rocking). $14 French fries as a side? Are you freaking kidding me?! No better than diner food and frankly much worse. This place can't last.

Jacqui R.

Yelp
Yesterday I dined at Smyth Tavern around 11am with 5 friends. 4 out of the 5 of us had ordered medium rare burgers. The burgers came around 12:15 which we waited patiently for. Every burger was completely RAW inedible and freezing cold. I've never experienced anything like it in my life. The manager was appauled. We got the burgers taken off the bill and had them redone, which took another 30 minutes when the manager said 5 minutes. We were so dissapointed because I had dined before and really enjoyed the burger. I really would not have expected to be charged at the end $80 for coca colas and a little appetizer after the experience we encountered. Our one friend whos meal turned out alright had to wait for this whole fiasco to end and still got charged. Please do better and dont feed people raw meat

Carly C.

Yelp
Food was decent so I'll give it two stars. But the service was terrible...it took 45 minutes for us to get drinks. Burger came out cold. Waitress didn't seem to care. Oysters were very tasty. Overall, this place has potential. But definitely needs some work in terms of management and hospitality.

Sandi S.

Yelp
It's loud (at 9 on a Friday) so it feels much more like a bar than a restaurant. The food was fine but because the prices were so high, it should come down a star on Yelp (currently at a 4.5) so people know what to expect and not be disappointed if they were looking for a very good meal out.

P R.

Yelp
Don't order their chicken sandwich it is just not good. fried slim chicken breast Patties that are too dry and flavorless. And that's like 25 bucks

Brian K.

Yelp
Expensive for average quality food. The cocktails were wonderful, but $20 for a mixed drink. The place is still relatively new, so hopefully they'll find their grove.

Reid B.

Yelp
Smyth tavern was GREAT! We got a bunch to share and all the food was amazing!!! The service was great and all the staff were so friendly and attentive. It's a great spot with friends, for a date, or any dinner! Will definitely be back!
