8th And Congress

April 2024 After attending an event at the State Theatre I was hungry and decide to give 8th & Congress Rooftop Bar a try. This balcony bar is open for both hotel guests and regular customers to enjoy. You will need to take an elevator ride tot he 8th floor but be careful not selecting the usual 8 1/2 floor. The bar has indoor and outdoor seating with great views of the skyline on South Congress Avenue. They also have large private gender neutral restrooms available. From walking in I was nicely greeted by staff and looked very open. I took a seat at the bar and looked at the daily menu options. I ordered somewhat local beer, Love Street (from Houston) and 3 Grill Cheese. My entrée was presented very well where the grilled cheese was very tasty with both the cheese and grilled sourdough bread. I had the choice of chips with my order. It was a great tasting grilled cheese. The bartender was very friendly. The balcony was very impressive with lots of comfortable seating to enjoy the outdoors. It seemed like a great place to remote work during part of the day.

I guess this lobby bar at the Hyatt Centric used to be called something else, and they're working on making this an actual destination. Good for them! Stopped in the other day and had a couple amazing cocktails from the bartender Caley. I will definitely be stopping back in here again!

What a lovely surprise to find this cute rooftop bar! We had a great time on girls night on a Thursday night going up to the rooftop and enjoying a couple of drinks. It was not busy at all and we got served right away. Great views of downtown Austin and friendly bartending staff! I loved the trendy ambience and the clean and modern feel! Will definitely be back!
