Where to Drink Coffee in Nashville

"The original 8th Avenue haven for the creative class remains busier than ever, but roasting operations (and the new training lab) have gone south to their new, roomy digs on Grandview Ave. All of its locations brew the usual caffeinated suspects (espresso, cappuccinos, and lattes) alongside more creative concoctions like the fan-favorite housemade pistachio latte. You’ll also find breakfast and lunch options, including grab-and-go meals for those in a rush. At the airport? There’s an 8th & Roast there, too." - Jackie Gutierrez-Jones

8th & Roast Opens This Week in West Nashville - Eater Nashville

"Nashville will continue to expand options for caffeine city-wide, as popular coffee shop 8th & Roast opens a new location Thursday, September 6 in West Nashville’s Sylvan Station. The new coffee shop at 4104 Charlotte Avenue offers nearly 3,000-square-feet of space, where they’ll host in-house roasting operations, the full-service coffeehouse, and no doubt a swarm of remote workers. They’ll be brewing—of course— coffee options aplenty, but also serving red, white, and sparkling wines on tap. Like at the other location, look for breakfast sandwiches and yogurt parfaits in the morning, and homemade soup plus salads and sandwiches during noon hours. Plus there’ll be baked goods from scones to muffins all the live-long day. Once open, the second 8th & Roast hours are Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. – 6 p.m. and Saturday – Sunday from 7 a.m. – 6 p.m. 8th & Roast is owned and operated by Ed and Sam Reed, and Q-Juan Taylor and opened their first location in Melrose back in 2009. They roast over 70,000 pounds of coffee per year. A satellite location recently opened inside Nashville International Airport’s Terminal C, operated by global restaurateur HMSHost." - Delia Jo Ramsey

Google
What an incredible space to work or study! Coffee is great. I tried their seasons special — Lavender honey Latte (iced) and it was very uniquely good. 8th and Roast is so consistently good with their espresso, be it airport location or their stand alone location. It’s one of those chains that strive to be as good as your local cafe but have all the consistency and standardization of a chain. There’s so much space inside to host a large crowd. A few tables outside as well. There’s a parking lot nearby and some spots reserved for 10-min pick-up customers as well. Very impressed with their efficiency. I’ll be coming here again.

Google
Your go-to coffee joint. A cozy spot to enjoy a coffee, unwind, or quickly grab a drink. The coffee is tasty, the service is friendly, and the atmosphere is inviting.

Maria Ferreyros

Google
Good place to work and enjoy a coffee! However not the best food it was missing flavor and coffee is average.

Omar Alami

Google
Really good coffee, think 8th & Roast is coming out on top many of the local coffee houses in Nashville. Really good decaf Americano with flavorful lattes. This location, as with the others, feels "studenty" and young professional, but honestly very trendy. I like the place, full of light. Not loud.

AJ Williams

Google
What’s up with the music in this place lately? Overly loud chaotic jazz or really bad cover music? It used to be so peaceful here. Aside from this it’s one of my favorite locations in town. Excellent coffee beautiful sunlight beams through the windows in the evening. It’s amazing here and I can’t recommend it enough.

Google
Great coffee and great muffins! My husband loves the beans, and has not stopped telling me about how much he loves this coffee over other brands. I’d highly recommend!

Google
Best espresso I've had in Nashville. They do a great job roasting. Nice staff and plentiful seating.

Bartholomew Roland

Google
Coffee is $2.50 and their beans are delicious. Their French roast is great, it's a nice dark coffee with hints of cinnamon and brown sugar. The whole place is well-lit with lots of tables to sit at. The staff is very friendly, and happy to help. This is one of the better new coffee shops I've been to here in Nashville, and definitely worth a stop.

Yelp
Had the chance to check out 8th & Roast Charlotte when I was in dire need of some caffeine while out in Nashville for a work trip. My friend recommended this coffee shop and it was the perfect excuse to come grab a cup to go. On a Wednesday afternoon this shop was filled with plenty of patrons and it was so lively. The space is open and very inviting and it seems like they had a small shop for goods including a few baked items. Opted for their small cold brew and it was super smooth and you could tell the quality of beans were great. A moment that really resonated with me though was seeing one of their employees helping out an elderly woman and answering every questions she had so patiently. It was just so sweet and endearing to see how well they take care of their patrons. I spent a few minutes hanging out at the community table and admired this shop. I'm certain if I lived in Nashville, I would have easily made this a go-to to work from.

Yelp
Great coffee shop with classic drinks plus seasonal ones! Always nicely decorated for the holidays. I like studying here as there are multiple seating options (e.g. couches to booths to wooden chairs with tables) and outlets. I'd get here when they open if you want to grab a table with a nearby outlet since it gets packed with people working. Friendly staff as well. Free and plentiful parking. Also near the Richland Farmer's Market, which is open on Saturday's 9am-12pm.
google avatar

Yelp
Closer to the city in Nashville, great atmosphere and the seasonal drinks are great! My first time going I tried the "It Girl" and it was great. WiFi and outlets are available there if you need to get work done. The service and workers there were nice as it was my first time visiting and trying the place out!

Yelp
Coffee is very good probably my favorite place. Took 10 minutes to get a latte. Wasn't all that busy either at this location
google avatar

Brooklynn K.

Yelp
I've been here a few times and love the bright and open space it has. Normally it's packed with people WFH so I've gotten my drinks to go but I've also stayed to work. Their Valentine's Day crawl drinks have been some of my favorites. Fresh pastries are up to par & the service has always been good.
google avatar

Yelp
Great central location for a coffee house this large! A solid amount of parking including a free garage at the back of the property. A large interior, but it fills up quickly. If you arrive during a busy time you might not have your pick of seats. Coffees, teas, lattes, all the usual fare prepared well and at a decent price. Friendly service, nice decor. I haven't had the food yet but will update my review once I have!
google avatar

Delaney N.

Yelp
Love the space here and if you are with just a few people, there is a lot of seating to choose from. Any group more than 4 might have a hard time finding a seat. The coffee is good and they always have fun specialty drinks. Its not my absolute favorite coffee in Nashville but its definitely a repeat spot
google avatar

Jeremy C.

Yelp
Great little place for a pick-me-up coffee run. It's always busy here whenever I go, so plan accordingly. Parking can be a bit of a pain, since there's only a few spots directly beside the building. Other than that, you have to drive in the small garage beside it. Great options for food, and great seasonal drinks as well. Came by for the Pride Month Coffee Crawl and got their Rubyfruit Jungle latte which had Fruity Pebbles cereal on top! I always forget about this place so I plan to come back more often for sure
google avatar

Sarah L.

Yelp
Love the seasonal flavors here and it's great place to study! Lots of natural light, outlets, small tables, big tables, and some comfy sofas too. I also enjoyed their pastries, especially their blueberry and chocolate chip muffins. The staff were all so kind and service was very fast
google avatar

Steve M.

Yelp
This coffee place makes good coffee drinks and has a nice vibe to go with it. Whenever I am in that part of town, I stop in a get a drink.
google avatar

Mari B.

Yelp
Haven't been here in a while and stopped in for coffee and something sweet! It was busy as usual and staff was great as always. If you got around 2pm, it's slim picking for sweets but totally get it. Luckily got the last apricot tart and it was delicious. Their iced coffee was fantastic. Parking is a challenge at this complex, so be prepared to either wait for a spot or you might have to find parking elsewhere.

Yelp
#fatjared say...we had such a great time and it is a very cool location. Not a perfect experience by any means, but this is an above average coffee shop in Nashville, especially on the West side. For my grading scale, to get 5 stars you must give me perfection. Might sound snobby, but 5 stars on Yelp is perfect, so to get 5 stars you must be perfect, and that means no complaints. to dive deeper, I have been going to different coffee shops for years now. I always get a cold brew for my grading purposes, and 5 stars has now evolved to needing to be a truly unique and amazing flavor to get that 5th star. 8th and Roast is great coffee, but there is better and not enough for 5 stars. The inside here is very spacious, dogs are welcomed, no one will bother you for a long time, and my wife was able to nurse our newborn child without any giving any weird faces or saying anything. Truly a fun atmosphere. They have comfortable seating whic is a huge plus, and as far as choices of roasts and coffee goes, it is still amazing. 8th & Roast actually caters the coffee at my work office, and even after that I still love their coffee. Overall, while not a perfect experience and not a truly unique cold brew flavor and drink this go around, I will be back and my alter this review next time I come. 4.8 out of 5 for sure, but not quite perfect for me. That said, come here. I highly recommend it.

Yelp
Solid coffee shop. Plenty of seating and free parking out front. I went during pride month, and got their signature latte. So good. I'll be back, and recommend it. Great spot for studying, and hanging out with others.
google avatar

Yelp
I came here on a whim before an appt. And it was pleasant. There were lost of people on laptops, so I'm assuming it's more of a study cafe. However, the hostess was nice and the coffee was pretty good. I also got the veggie burrito and didn't care for it, but I'm sure some ppl like it.
google avatar

Yelp
Great coffee spot in a very convenient location. I wish they stayed open later though. Came here on a Saturday after gorging myself at Five Points Pizza next door. An evening coffee on a cold day is just what the doctor ordered. I loved the attention to detail and the barista asked me if I wanted a light roast or a dark roast. I love that. I prefer light roast myself. The decor is really nice and I love their teal colored motif.
google avatar

Kelsey E.

Yelp
One of my favorite coffee shops in Nashville! Their iced caramel lattes are always reliable and come in a 2 or 4 shot option. While I do love the coffee, the Charlotte Ave location is always packed with people doing work - not a great social hangout and can sometimes be hard to find a table even though the coffee shop is only half full. Free parking and some good looking quiches I have yet to try.
google avatar

Angie N.

Yelp
My oat milk latte was delicious! They actually listened to me when I said 1 pump of my flavors. It wasn't too sweet and so lovely. This place has a lot of seating! It can be a little loud with a lot of people, but overall a pretty great place for a cup and getting some work done.
google avatar

Hannah C.

Yelp
good vibes and quick service,, the matcha was good but maybe too much honey but also im a purist so that could just be me. the space is so big and conducive for working like everyone in here was on their laptop or hosting some work meeting (if u stick around u can eavesdrop on a lot of upcoming business or music industry plans which is.. fun to say the least)
google avatar

Justin C.

Yelp
Like it's original location, this shop is a fantastic place to get a cup of coffee and to stay for awhile! There are many plugs and areas to sit, so it is fantastic for studying and working. Get the specialty latte at the time, as it is always good!

Yelp
Nashville has a handful of fabulous local coffee shops. This one is newer on the scene than others, but catapulted right to the top of the heap. Great coffee, and a true immersing in the culture and craft of all varieties of coffee by the owner and staff. Great people work here. Good food, but a tad limited. They also used to have turkey alternatives which they dropped. Pastry options are always awesome, though. Also the Breakfast Burrito is a great option. It's not their fault per se, but the parking is horrid and the entrance and exit is on a stretch of Charlotte that the city and state are evidently going to drag their feet about till someone gets killed. It is a site of multiple car accidents so far with no sign of improvement, so please be careful!
google avatar

Eric N.

Yelp
Their coffee selection is great and tastes really good. I would suggest sticking with typical coffee selections (drip, espresso, cappuccino, cortado, etc.) as their specialty coffee drinks aren't that great. However the quality of their regular coffees make up for this. Their cinnamon rolls are also top notch; note they're not overly sweet and sugary, if that's your thing. Their breakfast biscuits and sandwiches are also great. The specialty drinks not being very good and their canned take home coffee being quite bad is something I can overlook due to their other selections being so good. Still 5 stars regardless of these two shortcomings.
google avatar

Michelle C.

Yelp
Such a great cafe! It started with an accidental trip to 8th & Roast on 8th. We were so underwhelmed by the food selection that we left BUT wanted to give the Charlotte location a try...and we are so glad we did! I stopped by around 11:30 on a Friday. Good timing as it appears I beat the lunch rush. We were greater by a friendly barista that made some coffee recommendations. I went with the nitro mint lemonade and my boyfriend had a mocha. Both drinks were delicious! The coffee service was a bit slow however with them weighing out and freshly grounding the beans, it's to be expected, as were the high prices. My favorite part was the food! Don't get me wrong, it's nothing to phone home about, but we loved the grilled cheese and chorizo breakfast burrito that we split. The star was the grilled cheese with ham, bacon, and apple slices. YUM! There are many tables for people to work. The cafe was full but they have so much space we were able to snag a comfy couch to enjoy our meal.
google avatar

Kayla S.

Yelp
Their food is very delicious! I'm not much of a coffee drinker so I usually just go for breakfast. Their breakfast kale sandwich and veggie burrito are sooo good, I recommend stopping by for breakfast! It's usually pretty busy with people working from their tables & couches, but worth it.
google avatar

Kevin G.

Yelp
100000/5 stars if possible. I've made it a point to try almost every coffee shop in town in my 10 years living here (as well as every other city I visit) and this is HANDS DOWN my favorite. This place can meet you ONE TIME and make you feel like family. They're SO nice and so welcoming. I have never had a negative experience with a single person who works here. Their coffee is incredible and I've still to this day never had a better vanilla latte. They knew me by name as well as my order after just a few visits and they've never forgotten since. I would seriously go here every single day (maybe multiple times?) if my wallet would allow it. Cannot recommend enough. So cute, so chilly, so good. Food + coffee + atmosphere. CanNOT go wrong here!
google avatar

Alexis B.

Yelp
8th & Roast opened up a location on Charlotte, which I visited a few weeks ago for a coffee with a friend! It's pretty large, has good coffee, and has great service. Not a bad place to study, work, drink coffee, or hang out!
google avatar

Dan B.

Yelp
This location of 8th & Roast is big, clean and new. After trying unsuccessfully to visit their original location on 8th Ave (we wanted fresh food and they do not have a kitchen at that location, only premise sandwiches), this location was well worth the visit. The space inside is very warm and inviting. We visited on a Friday midday and there were a lot of people working, studying and hanging out at the tables. We were still able to get a seat at a table. They also have a few sofas and lounge chairs to relax in if that if your preferred style. We ordered coffee and breakfast / lunch sandwiches. The iced mocha I had was enjoyable and not over powering with caffeine. For food we got two items: the chorizo breakfast burrito and one of their seasonal grilled cheeses. The breakfast burrito was greasy in a good way. It was not soggy, it was big and filling. The grilled cheese was a rotating seasonal grilled cheese, which had bacon and apples in it! It was really good and toasted perfectly. Would definitely go back again for food, coffee and for a work space.
google avatar

Merricks W.

Yelp
Wonderful coffee and food selection! I feel like most coffee shops favor one more than the other, but not at Eighth and Roast. The chorizo burrito was flavorful, filling and I've honestly been dreaming about it since trying it a week ago. Pairs nicely with a hot americano, pictured here. Fun spot, will visit again soon for a work from home date.
google avatar

Yelp
I mostly keep coming here because it is a great place to set up and work. The pastries and avocado toast is hit or miss and when they miss they miss big. This time I got a leukemic smear of avocado mixed with too much citrus and something undefined. It had circles of something out of playskool on it. Yuck. Unfortunately for the inconsistency of the kitchen it would be a one star. But for the "desk space" and the staff trying to make up for it, I give it more stars. Pretty simple and average food. I like the free fizzy water dispenser.

Yelp
Help! 8th & Roast is too dangerously close to my place. And, it looks like I found my fatal attraction at 8th & Roast- Almond croissant! Oh! you have no idea how bad this discovery of sheer perfection of an almond croissant in Nashville is for me. The Universe is undoubtedly testing my willpower. One, it is croissant. Two, it is one insanely perfect croissant. Three, it is a freshly baked in-house almond-y "Almond" croissant. To find a good, delicious, near perfect almond croissant is like traversing for truffles. In most places almond croissants are tough, chewy and the volume of almond essence is disgustingly potent. But not at 8th & Roast. It is buttery, flaky, crunchy when you bite into it. Sweet, almond-y, yet silky when it melts in your mouth. Your brain is going to scream "freshly baked"! And the perfect essence of almond will make your heart dance a nutty-go-around. Just ask for it slightly warmed. I know 8th & Roast is a great coffee shop. But you must make your way to Charlotte. The decor is so cool. It replicates a train station (at least that's what I thought). The vibrance is hip, chill and relaxing. There is ample seating- couch, bench, dinner table, coffee table, seats lined up by the glass and more seats lined up at the serving platform. And you know what sets the mood, apart from friendly and vivacious hospitality (the girls are so kind and bubbly!)- a great music playlist. I took to a corner and spent 4.5 hrs there. Bobbing my head mostly,shazam-ing a few times. Also, it is Pumpkin spice season. While I like a real pie over flavored coffee, I felt like indulging for once. I requested the pumpkin spiced latte to be less sweet. Don't you love someone for knowing what you mean by not too sweet. The flavor was beautiful! It was like sipping autumn. Hearty warm and what a gorgeous blend of spice and pumpkin. The only bummer was, I wanted to have my coffee reheated after 4.5 hrs without adding extra hot milk. And, there wasn't provision for that. So I just got it home cold to microwave. 8&R is such a great addition to the neighborhood. I am so happy! The caffeine hasn't worn off as yet, and my day there made me feel good. You must check it out!

Megan C.

Yelp
I was getting ready to drive 9.5hrs back home and I needed two things a latte and food! This place was near by and I bought a vanilla latte and chorizo breakfast burrito. Both delicious, I will be back again next time I come to town!

Yelp
I give this place 5 coffee cups! So good! Since we arrived to Nashville this place was highly recommended by everyone and it did not disappoint! It was walking distance to where we were staying about a 5 minute walk and it was totally worth it. I had the latte with dulce de leche wow! So delicious!! We had blueberry muffins and they were so yummy!!!! We actually got all of them lol. They had to bake more for later. Everyone loved their coffees we wished we had this in TX. We will come again when we are back in Nashville.
google avatar

Mykel L.

Yelp
Just went in to pick up some morning beverages for the family. This is the cutest place I've seen in a while. They are very covid friendly and the people are nice in general. If I lived here, I would go here often. Unfortunately I don't live here, so I'm leaving the review.
google avatar

Caroline Z.

Yelp
The espresso is SO smooth! The balance of flavors is perfect. I've had the ginger snap, dulce latte, and caramel latte and all were delicious. The almond croissants are incredible!! I was really surprised by the friendliness of the staff. They seemed so cheerful and eager to please. If you have any issues they definitely want to help and make things perfect for you. The location is great too. Parking available and so bright and spacious inside. The seating is comfortable and has a variety of options. I wasn't expecting to love this place as much as I did!
google avatar

Bri J.

Yelp
Came here because of Nashville Food Fights to get our free iced coffees and decided to get a little breakfast sandwich, as well. The iced coffee is pretty strong and has a citrus twist to it. I got mine with oatmilk and vanilla and really enjoyed it. I ordered a ham and cheese croissant and my boyfriend got a sausage egg biscuit. His biscuit was a good size, pretty big. My croissant was very tasty, but........ there was like one piece of ham rolled up inside of it just kinda tucked into one corner. Should've just gotten a normal croissant. That's the only thing I took a star off for, but everything was really good.

Yelp
Coffee's side effects are acknowledged by the staff: decent tp! Thanks (Too short to post without more text)
google avatar

Yelp
This is a beautifully designed, modern and spacious coffee shop with ample parking in the Sylvan Park area of Nashville. They have plenty of excellent seating options too. I love that they roast their own coffee on site. The service is excellent also. Every employee I encountered here truly seemed to care about providing the best possible service. I enjoyed a mocha and an iced Cafe de Leche. Their coffee is among the best flavored coffees I have ever had the pleasure of tasting. The sausage and egg breakfast biscuit was incredibly fresh and packed with outstanding flavors. The breakfast burrito was also amazing! For the high quality they provide I believe their prices are very reasonable too. I definitely would recommend 8th & Roast for some great coffee in a comfortable setting.

Yelp
0. Context: I've been here about 10 times at the time of writing. I come here to do computer- or paper-based work 100% of the time. I come here to meet with people 0% of the time. 1. Overall Verdict Great space for studying/working when it's not mobbed because it's spacious and extremely bright. Based on a small sample size (4 for drinks and 3 for food), I rate their drinks 6.5/10 (I rate Nashville drinks on average 7/10) and food 6/10 (I rate Nashville 6/10 for food). The service is bad because there's no post-sale customer service. 2. Service: I don't like the service here because unlike places with similar workflows (e.g., Fido, Biscuit Love), they never check on you so if you don't like anything, you're out of luck. 3. Drinks I need to try a few more items completing this section. So far, I much prefer the drinks at Revelator and Sump Coffee. 4. Food I need to try a few more items completing this section. So far, I much prefer the food at Frothy Monkey (12 South). 5. Specific Recommendations: Recommended (Drinks): - Eggnog Latte (8/10). This may be a seasonal drink. - Jasmine Tea (7/10). Quality tea bags. - 100 Years (Black) Tea (6.5/10). Quality tea bags. Not Recommended (Drinks): - Latte (5/10 - 7.5/10). I usually order this, but the quality is sadly variable, because sometimes it's much too bitter. Recommended (Food): - Sausage, Egg, and Cheese Biscuit (8/10) Not Recommended (Food): - Quiche (veggie version) (6/10). It's OK. Could use more salt. The crust is too dry. - Griddle (sausage version) (5/10). Takes a long time and tastes surprisingly bland. It's astounding that neither the sausages, the eggs, the cheese, the tomatoes, and the potatoes have any flavor. I will continue to update this review.

Yelp
The best roasters in Nashville are at it again! Atmosphere is amazing, new location is clean and sleek. Perfect place to grab my Red Eye on the way out of town!
google avatar

Yelp
Best coffee roasters in Nashville! The head roaster himself took the time to explain how they ethically source their beans and cultivate relationships with farmers in Guatemala and other parts of the world. -Genuinely friendly and knowledgeable baristas. -House made pastries that are incredible. -Fantastic space and vibe. Happy to have them in the neighborhood!

Yelp
We were short on time so we swung in to grab coffee and a quick bite to eat. Didn't really know what to expect, but we were pleasantly surprised by how much we liked this place! Thought the sausage biscuits looked a little pricey at first, but so glad we got them because they are delicious! Definitely will be coming back in the future.
google avatar

Yelp
I have been to the 8th Ave location but this was my first time visiting the Charlotte pike one. The atmosphere is very laid back and not as small as the 8th Ave location. There is plenty of seating including couches to get comfortable in. We went on a Sunday around noon and there was no line. I ordered a Vanilla latte and it was really good. The menu consists of not only coffee but pastries and sandwiches to choose from. Overall, it's a really cool place to grab a cup of coffee and relax.
google avatar

Catherine W.

Yelp
This location has more friendly employees than the 8th avenue one. Great Americanos! I always get it in an 8 oz cup. I get a bag of beans here every week and they are delicious! They've also got the best sausage biscuits in The Nations area. I always admire their pastries and food but I stick to Americanos, sausage biscuits, and ground coffee. They do have a great atmosphere and different hangout spots that are comfy. Parking is usually easy since there's access to a garage.

Yelp
Cool vibe. Comfy furniture. Friendly peeps. Very flavorful and hot coffee! Definitely will be back.

Yelp
I love 8th and roast. Great coffee, great prices, and great spot. I love their almond croissant and their nitro coffee!

Yelp
I am so pleased they put this wonderful shop on the west side now as well. So fresh and yummy, nice baristas, plenty of seating! They roast their own coffee beans!

Yelp
I like to enjoy a good cup of coffee in the morning! I'm currently visiting the area and decided to try this place out. I got an iced Dulce de Leche along with a caramel cappuccino. Neither drink was good. The cappuccino was so small with a strong non cappuccino taste. My iced Dulce de Leche had no flavor or very weak flavor If any at all. I ended up mixing the two in hopes to come up with something good, failed.

Arrogant, rude and have no clue how to make coffee. Oh and they're very expensive. I don't know what to tell you except never come here. I hate barista's that treat you like a jerk and then overcharge you for a crappy coffee. Still in way over roasted.

Yelp
I visited this new location during their soft open. I ordered a small latte to find it had been made using spoiled milk. Giving them another chance, I visited them the following week when they were fully opened for business. This time, I again ordered a large $5 latte just to watch the Barista tap the coffee grounds down with her bare figures and wipe the excess grounds off with her hands before tamping the coffee. I am not willing to visit again when there are so many other good, local coffee places where I don't have to worry about where the Barista's figures have been.

Yelp
I only gave this place 2 stars mainly due to the set up, looked nice and relaxing. As too the food , If you are going to charge $6.00 for a simple bacon, egg and cheese biscuit, it better be the best one you've ever had, or I can just get one at McDonalds for 1/2 the price. I ordered one , the description was wonderful, soufflé eggs with white cheddar cheese and bacon, what is not too like!! The biscuit was small, grainy and a strange after taste, the bacon seem of very low quality thin, extremely salty, and the eggs , seemed to be just regular eggs , shaped in a round patty and never saw or tasted the cheese, had I not gotten to go, I would have given it back. Sorry guys , this places seemed more like a hang out for the employees, I'll drive the extra distance to Biscuit Love !!!

Yelp
I've been twice, the first time I had a sausage, egg & cheese biscuit, and a fancy hand-pour coffee. I am equally fascinated/entertained and annoyed at the detail and execution devoted to one cup of coffee. I really do appreciate the attention to each element and the scientific consummation involved but it all just seems so precious. It WAS a good cup but I found myself wanting to ask the barista if he ever had a coffee at Gojo, the Ethiopian restaurant on Thompson Lane. One of the best cups I've ever had and although they didn't make it in front of me...I would bet they don't perform a kabuki dance to get there. Anyway, I liked the coffee the breakfast biscuit was good, they have a water station with flat AND sparkling water (ten extra points.) They also serve Spindrift sodas, my very favorite, (another ten.) On the second visit I had the bacon, egg & cheese biscuit, also good. Although the bacon fat was left under done and so it was hard to bite through cleanly and that sort of ruins the sandwich. Excellent bacon though, Benton's quality. I'm sure it's provenance is displayed somewhere in the restaurant or on the menu. This time I tried the Chai. Masala Chai can vary wildly I'm learning, in balance and sweetness. I thought this version could be less sweet. Even so, I finished every drop. The pastries look good, (I'm abstaining.) I wish they'd placed the water/napkins/silver wear more conveniently but that's a small detail. I'll be back for more.
